The Homeplace

Here further down the hillside slope
Down close to the creek with hope

My husband bought a house, land
Fenced in and made many plans

Subdued the land to cow pasture
And planted a garden, fruit trees sure

Fathered another child to call him sir
The creek seemed to like the stir

Enjoyed the children for a little while___
Loved them so that it made her smile

Today she loves grandchildren the same
No girls there are in frills ___tame

The creek keeps on flowing to the sea
The land is mostly stripped of trees

his work.)

PAINFUL LOVE AFFAIR

PAINFUL LOVE AFFAIR

I love you my lover.
I don't know why?
You are working so hard,
I love you from nine to five.

Soon we both will clock out.
Going to our separate lives.
The lives we always dread about.

At work you give me the attention.
The kind my husband dose not give.
Plain simple kisses with no affection.
At my house that is how I live.
A love affair you did mention.
No more teasing, no more flirting.
Sneaking, and releasing our lust and tension.

We both started accidently caring.
While at work you hold my hand.
We see everyone just staring.
They can't bare to understand,
the two lives we are tearing.

I love the things we talk about.
Around my husband we always shout.
Always thinking we would be together.
Until that one day ,
I feel under the whether
I had to tell you goodbye .
Writing you a last love letter.
Explaining the reason why?
No one can make things better.
All I can do about this is cry.

You said when your wife was in doubt.
About me to her, you did not lie.
My husband after, soon found out.
In that moment, I felt the need to die.
In my face he did more than shout.
About the baby, made him cry.
Relocating us to another route.
Far away where I can never tell you HI.
It's your baby, with no doubt.
The one thing my husband want me to deny.
This love affair I can never talk about.
A painful love affair in my eye.

As You Who Had No Toil

The rosebud has little to do
Just drink its fill of waters
From the strong sturdy vine that's true
Kissed by dew that matters

And enjoy the kiss of sunlight
Upon woven petals
Open little each day that's bright
Sun radiant aerials

When opened sufficient indeed
Host a party to bees
Butterflies who on nectar feed
Won't even run from me

Like they are glued to your nectar
Petals are to full extent
Begin to fall of your vector
When petals gone your scent

On petals linger to be stored
In jar_ pressed for oil
Then I would want to be used
As you who had no toil

I Can See

I seen a man
I seen a man
Bearing the weight of his yore problems in life
No tears wept, he left the emotions to his wife
I seen a man
Daring to proceed in front of crowds and be his own person
Discovering the independence of his character in confusion
I seen a man
Touch not, he could not feel
Speak not, his mouth was sealed
Hear not, no one can listen to his mind
Taste not, the insipid peels of lime
I seen a man
In his wild days, love, would be thrown out there
Following an untraced path, set in air
Hate would bubble within
But it would not erupt, only applause... Fading
His story would confuse the young, puzzle the old
This is just the introduction untold
I seen a man
Imaged in black and white
I seen a man
But I am blind
I seen a man
I seen a man

Made Man

Before his appointed place
And before his work and living,
There was a man
God did create.

Before he had a voice,
And before the woman was given
There was a man
That God did make.

10 Things to Eat Instead of Red Meat

Is your go-to lunch roast beef sandwich?
Tomorrow you might want turkey instead
Here is why
In gen. red meat- such as roast beef

Not as healthy as other kinds of protein
Tends to have more cholesterol

May linked to colon cancer
This does not mean
You should never eat beef or other red meats

Just go easy on them
Tasty Swaps
With
Tacos

Try

With hamburgers
Try Veggie burgers

With Stir-fry
Try Fried tofu
With lasagna
Try Eggplant slices

New Househusband

This househusband washing his pants
In pockets he must at least glance
If there’s money involved
It might get dissolved
And ruin his future finance

I thought working from home was a snap
And I’d even have time for a nap
But she makes me do chores
Like the laundry and floors
Now this working from home is all crap

Do we post this on Poetry Soup
Let your poetry pals in on the poop
That you street cred’s been stripped
That you’re now “kitty” whipped
And you’ve joined a househusband group

Mdailey	11/10/11

I wrote this for Joe Flach and he even gave me permission to post this saying he did not think his reputation could get any more damaged that it already is.

No Job Can't Pay the Bills TRY JESUS

Here I sit, uncertain of what lies ahead.
I’m still wondering how my family will be fed.

I once had a job that provided a sense of “security.”
Now I don’t… And I have a lot of uncertainty!

I have unpaid bills, and I’m not sure what to do.
I’ve asked for help. But not sure who to turn to!

I get discouraged, and feel life “pulling me down.”
I’ve tried just about every job that’s in town.

The dreams I had, have been shattered and smashed.
At times, I feel like I’m just “a piece of trash.”

My wife tried to support me, the best that she can.
But she doesn’t know me… Or even understands!

Dear Jesus… You’re the only left that I haven’t tried.
There’s been many nights I laid awake and cried!

I read in the Bible, where your love for me is real!
When I call on your name... There’s a love I can feel!

Whatever happens, please help me Lord, to trust you!
Whatever tomorrow holds, may I still love you!

I know that you’re a foundation, that I can stand on!
Jesus is a friend! That I can always depend on!

Jesus, if I lose everything that I have or that I hold on to...
My I always remember your faithfulness
 and never forget you!

Here I stand… With my burdens lifted from me!
It’s because of Jesus! And how much he loves me!

I praise HIS name! And lift my hands to the sky!
He’s in control now! I don’t have to ask the reason why!

Jesus… Please take control of my worries and desires!
Above all of my problems, I lift your name up higher!

Just a day
“Good Night Mom and Dad” I said before I went to bed. “We love you” they said as they closed the door
Mom comes in and wakes me up “Time to go to school” as my feet hit the floor
I got dressed and ate breakfast and got my book bag and now we are on the go
We sit in the car listening to music “It’s Friday I think I’m a little excited tho
“Alright baby we here” as mom open the door to let me get out
She closed the door and kissed me on the head told me she loved me before she pulled off
Another day of school and it close to Christmas
I can’t wait to see Ashley and Alexus, today is show and tell as I said in a whisper
We had learning center day and Boy! Was it fun!
Today was a free day and on Friday there isn’t much to learn
The room was quite when the was a knock at the door, the door opened
A man with a big gun was standing there; my classmates panicked and started to run
I heard a lot of noises and a lot of screams
I felt a sharp pain in my back as I dropped to my knees
In the distant I heard more screams and then everything went silent
Then I closed my eyes it went dark and on the cold floor I was dying
The other side
It’s Thursday night and off to bed we go
I kiss my 5 year old son Jaden and told him I loved him so
Alarm clock goes off and it’s around 6:15 in the morning
I shower got dress and woke up Jaden my little darling
Its Friday, I fixed him breakfast and we headed out for the this last day until the weekend
I enjoyed our little drives to school as we sat in the car singing
I opened the door to let him out once more
Kissed him on the head and told him I loved him ill pick him up around four
I’m at work drinking coffee just talked to my husband on the phone
Got at my desk started to work and the my office phone rung
It’s about 9:30 and it was Jaden’s school
I got the news he was dead and I started to puke
I’m crying uncontrollably don’t know my next move
My son is dead, I can’t believe this news
I hurried to the school in the best of my ability
I saw the school surrounded by medics, reporters, and police
I ran to a officer and demanded to see my son
He said “I’m sorry ma’am” I can’t do this at this time
At 9:32 my one and only son Jaden was pronounced dead
The shooter was 20 and took my son’s life in his own hands
The questions continue to flow through my head as I search for answers
I don’t need answers I need my son and his laughter
I am now sitting on his bed trying to swallow tears
My husband holds me close as reality nears
My little boy is gone among the other 19 kids
Heaven has 20 new angels now I hope he knew how much I love him as much as I did

The Unhappy Moth

She chose a red scarf. The most red
of them all.
Of a dark red, a sweet and thick red color,
just as wine.

She carved from the red scarf
from the middle
to the size of a Martini glass.

Then she carved one more glass,
and she kept carving
till she fell asleep.

Yesterday
she saw her Beloved Moth
flirting with a Younger Moth,
carving together from a sweater
while she was getting busy,
carving in the shelves.

The Unhappy Moth drank lots of wine
woolen wine,
last night.
She drank lots, too much
for a Moth.
The Unhappy Moth got drunk
and fell asleep
on the red scarf,
unhidden
with a heart filled with peace.

She was not afraid no more.
Now she could be seen easily,
laying on the scarf
and easily crushed.

The Unhappy Moth was not
afraid of death no more,
at least, now she knew
how wonderful the red scarfs are
and that they taste
like red wine.

My Dear Carolyn, I want to Thank-YOU for YOUR Contest “ The Work You Do? ”
I usually Do not Brag, but I’m going to in this Piece I also may throw in Kitchen Humor
I Dedicate this to YOU : Carolyn Devonshire My POETRY “ TEACHER “ LOVE, HG

The first two quotes I heard in the beginning of My Career
“People will always Eat” ( Chef Lis ) : “People eat with their eyes” :

Forty-Four years later, the Sonata of these words Still Rings in my ears

The Aromas, sweet and spicy, sour ,tart, fruity, meaty, waif through my nose
I remember the smell of burning starch, elbows set in ice cold water on the stove, two hours
Taste buds come alive, epicurean; connoisseurs : enticing The palette soothing the throat
I read my breath, in the dire cold of the freezer: a block of ice becomes A Heart of Swans

The Woes of a Househusband

The Woes of a Househusband

There once was a rich attorney named Joyce.
She fought for women's lib with a strong voice.
Her husband raised their baby.
And cleaned their house like crazy.
As she approached the bar, he lost his choice.

HELP HER UP

written 2nd Aug 2013

This life is not as it should be
pick up your wife, can't you see

You're her husband, stand up!
give her a reason, to again believe

She means 'everything'....to this family
shutting the door leaving her totally... Alone

Do you actually know her at all...
damaging her heart and soul, deep within it's cold

Loneliness consumes her, it's been so long
it must be asked...do you still love her?

Are you willing to help her to her feet again?
or shall you sit back and watch, as she see's the end

This is completely left for only you, her husband to declare
how much does she really mean to you...do you still care?

Will you step up, or let her rot into total depression, you see it...
Love and care, or death and dispirit

It's all up to you!
Her loving husband, what will you do.....

My tongue
has no more blood;
no tissue to slide through my teeth.

I have bitten my tongue
so long
my message deflates beneath.

The Hardest Thing

Last night we had a quarrel
We went to bed so mad
Each had to get up early
The morning was quite sad
I never meant to say that
I know you didn’t, too
With hopes to reconcile
Just know that I love you

Yeah darling…
It couldn’t be more true

That’s why
Leaving you
Is the hardest thing to do

Each morning when we go to work
A piece of me, it goes with you
I cannot wait to get back home
To do those things we do

That’s why
Leaving you
Is the hardest thing to do

I hope tonight we’re civil
We listen and we learn
Together, we’ll get past this
Each others trust, we’ll earn
So, then we can retire
To the bedroom that we share
Lie within each others arms
And show how much we care

Yeah darling…
It couldn’t be more true

That’s why
Leaving you
Is the hardest thing to do

Each morning when we go to work
A piece of me, it goes with you
I cannot wait to get back home
To do those things we do

That’s why
Leaving you
Is the hardest thing to do

And when my work’s over
I will come back to you

Second Chance Prayer

Lord God,
Please help me get a second chance to make up for my past wrongdoing
Send me the Holy Spirit to choose the right path
Provide me Your Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit to help me better myself
Wisdom to have a deep understanding on what and how to change

Knowledge to know the reasons inside my sudden change
Counsel me to give advice in choosing to take on which direction to go to
Understanding to comprehend every situation
Fortitude to have strength to be courageous on making a stand

Piety, to be faithful and offer goodness to others
Fear of the Lord to maintain Holy Fear to God
Thank You for Your help in transforming me
I respectfully ask this in the name of Father Christ Jesus for sending me the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Bad News

Got bad news today, now I've got the blues
Not a good day, reduction in pay, layoffs too
Now hubby'll have to work harder, so hard
He works now, and will be covering night shift
That Larry didn't lose job, I thank Him for his gift
His boss is retiring at the end of the year, bad news
Too for they are friends and he does exellent work
Hate to put it this way, but employer's really a jerk
He makes money hand over fist and doesn't care
In his bountiful earnings, he seems unwilling to share
But at the end of the days, all will be set right I'm sure
Hopefully those layed off will find jobs, and will endure
We will just have to cut back, not so much Bingo too
Car be paid off soon, with His help we'll come through
Allright and the future will still look bright, His might
Will keep me strong, especially in darkness of night
When won't be here, I'm so used to going to sleep
With my love beside me, and listening to his snoring
Early evenings we spend together, now will be boring
But it's only for two weeks and then we go on vacation
I wish I could go back to work now and have a vocation
I worked hard at many a job for many, many years
Now I have to be content for now to stay home, no tears
Of joy today, maybe tonight God will hear my prayer
I'm playing once more again and will pray/wish if I dare
And leave my fate in His hands, for my woe He does care
Thank all who read this, I just had feelings I had to share

Fired Up

Fired Up

Suddenly slow, then frozen up…My heart began to pound.
My computer means so much to me. It’s my touch to the outside world.
Then my knight came in the door… determined my dragon to slay.
And let me tell you… as dragons go… he can slay anything.

Dragon fire can be hot, but this one was immensely worse.
Nothing at all seemed to work. This dragon was really strong.
Shield after shield fell from my knights’ grip…
But thank God… he never, ever gave up.

Night after night he fought with might and studied his foe with thought.
Each night he scanned every road… for where a lair could be stowed.
His sword swung with might nightly… erasing him from the land.
But still the dragon was able to come back breathing fire upon all at hand.

He knew how to open every back door. He was cleverer than any I had seen.
But steady as a rock my knight and prince… continued to protect my way of life.
Finally, one day, with four new shields and with Excalibur by his side…
The dragon's spawn was slayed one last time, then a miraculous silence remained…

My knight had sacrificed so much time and sleep… that I truly cried.
This dragon was from a far away land where more dragons are made with pride.
But my dear knight is willing to wait by my side… His shield and sword nearby.
Thank you I say with hugs and kisses… For my knight in shining armor, my life…

HOME

Never forget what you have
Your home is your haven and to let your hair down
The love of your home, its the place to be
With the love of all of your family
Home is truly where the heart is
Remember that the work day is done
Never bring home the toils from the day
Relax and have fun that is the way!
When you walk in the door you will see
The smiling faces of your family
Kiss them hello and have a good night
Be aware that the home you have worked so hard for
Is the place to rest and relax and say
I have done all I can for this day is done its with the
Family, wow I am sure gonna have some fun!

Our QT Savior

In the cold of the morn with a crisp cloudy day…
A flat tire assailed a young girl, as she went on her way.
Young and full of life but definitely overwhelmed…
She was late for work and her husband had just nearly died.
She sat in her car, sniffling, worrying, and crying some wails.
She’d never changed a tire, a young husband always there.
But hurt he’d become, and in the hospital now remained…
It was up to her, suddenly alone, to make things right again.
She fretfully tried AAA but the wrong number was wrung…
Till Old Granny Goodness appeared with hope, and some fun.
She quickly got her out of the car, and found everything there.
Explaining what to do, Granny decided to entertain with flair.
Together they’d use a spare tire to fix that rickety old car.
They figured out the jack and successfully lifted the car.
But lug nuts are hard and need strength to unleash…
So granny fussed and she bug-tussled but never gave up
Till the young girl laughing, knew what she must do herself…
Grabbing deep into her courage, she ran into the QT for help.
Sure enough, a worker volunteered to help that sweet young thing out.
And the lug nuts came off lickety-split with laughter on top.
The young man was gracious, and ever so kind and…
Yes, he finished the job with his best smile and in record time
And of course he helped put everything away, too, you can bet…
He even helped Old Granny Goodness up off the ground where she sat.
Then with a salute and fare thee well, he went back inside…
While Old Granny Goodness, and the girl put air in the tires.
By now the girl was the lead in the work as she smiled and laughed…
She was empowered; you know… there’s nothing wrong with that.
Yes, the world was saved as all found their way home, with a wink, at last.
Yes, with gratitude, a hug, and a smile… many a way can be found again.

What's Happening to Marriages Today

What’s Happening to Marriages Today?

I was listening to someone just the other day…
And I couldn’t believe what he had to say!

He had left his wife and children for another!
She was young enough to be his daughter!

Here they were, “in love” and holding hands!
Hoping to soon, get their “wedding bands!”

They were pretending that this was so “cool.”
Living now by their own “set of rules!”

How sick and disgusting this is getting to be!
Is this something that many can’t see?

God gave us Adam and Eve to become one.
To bear fruit through daughters and sons!

He gave us marriage as holy vows are made.
Not to march in an “adulterous parade!”

We are treading on very dangerous ground!
Faithfulness and commitment
are scarcely found!

The very definition of marriage is changing!
As the family unit is always rearranging!

Our only hope is in Jesus! And him alone!
Let’s promote his love! Into our hearts and home!

Let’s allow his love to be our heart’s glue!
And bring new meaning to the words; “I love you!”

May his love bind our hearts and lives together!
And remain faithful to each other forever!

Jacob, im sorry,
I'm sorry I've lied,
I'm sorry Ive cause all the tears that you've cried.

I know I am worthless,
I'm not good enough,
But even though so you show me truest love.

I'lll work on my thinking,
I'll work on my words,
I'll work and I'll try until my heart just hurts.

I swear I'll be good,
I swear I'll do better,
Cuz baby I want you until death and after.

Do you care

On the high way
My side mirror recalls
The object that appear
Are closer then
They seem to be…
Yet so close we are
Taking destiny for ride
Many are a head and
Many behind, on road
Wondering in this city.
Tales of 1000 souls
I am one of them with little
Blessing to share.
My believe, My Prayers
To Lord, is driven by Job
My Visa, my rent, my bills
Run in the veins of my day.
Morning, I do open my eyes
Only to report to job,
My wife, my children and my God
Await my return by night.
I recall not, what I did last night
When I slept, what my wife said,
Not even my child’s smile
Yet my 9 to 5 schedule is perfect
Morning open with coffee on gas stations
Traffic on highways, on city road
Fines and radars, mobiles and overspend
Frustrated yet have to drive a head
Slow in fast lane with mobile on ear
Or lady, prejudice it may seem
But I recall it in my car, another
Guy flying in his accord, reads a sign
“just cruising”, damn with smile.
Switching between channels,
Some jams, some songs to hear
Discussion VoiceBoards, interviews
Money minutes, gold rates
Some blast, some peace deals
What a way, to say Good morning.
Yet hope I am not fired today,
As the morning news did say recession
Job cuts and job losses, long leave
Companies disappearing, stocks diving
Face book blocked in offices
Looks a gloomy day.
Yet hope drives my day, a head
Beyond my reach some time
I finish my job, drive home,
Just a pleasant look on my child
A warm welcome from my wife
Makes me human from machine.
Taking deep breath of relieve
I thank God, for all His mercy
And pray for Goodness tomorrow
And wish for all those left jobless
Lay in the arms of beloved
I dream, with hope for better
Tomorrow.

OUR HOUSE MAID'S DAUGHTER

I looked one more time at the scar
on her pretty forehead.
Our house-maid’s sweet little daughter.
She is just four years old.

Endured many scares and black scars
along with mother, so bold
facing tantrums of sot-father.
She is just four years old.

Today came she with news to share.
With puerile fervor told
“Becomes bride my father’s sister!”
She is just four years old.

“He is as strong as a wild boar
good groom; not a drunkard.”
Shocked; saw those deeper inner scars.
She is just four years old.

Like it's given to be

How do the girls talk, of boys in the bushes and stones in their pockets
How do the boys stalk, to thinking that girls are dreaming of nothing but lockets,
for keeping inescapable kisses trapped in a hope

And why do the ladies say, that helpless are husbands when wells run dry
And why do the men cry, though tough as the night, when the daylight dims the eye
till work is rest and boredom besets…

Like it's given to be
Just a fall, just blood blotting from a scrape on the knee
So watch it go brown
And watch it go down
To rise like a star, a little forgotten scar in the memory

I heard the lonely yell, "I once was quiet, and I had a truth, but nothing means nothing when something breaks in the laugh!"
You can't change in the traffic lights, you can't change a tune or even a melody
without breaking a song
So I'll get it wrong and she'll see me naked as naked can be
Lit by the sun in the contempt of modern antiquities

Like it's given to be
Just a fall, just blood blotting from a scrape on the knee
So watch it go brown
And watch it go down
To rise like a star, a little forgotten scar in the memory

Now how would you say, dappled in ideas
That ruins aren't buried under buildings so tall
And now how would you say, given the seas
You can't wash the sin from the salt in your mouth, you call...

"That's it's given to be for you and not me, to rise like a star, with little forgotten scars in your memory."

Husband For Hire

He’s a married man who lost his job,
During a depressed economic time;
Willing to do laborious work around your house -
Any kind of odd job he can find.

The kind of things a husband normally would do,
For women who lived without a man;
He could come over and take care of them,
Doing anything that he possibly can.

He could lift heavy boxes or mend a broken fence;
Cut your grass or even take you to a dance;
His wife even said she would look the other way
If you want other husbandly duties and are willing to pay.

He would do his job well then he wouldn’t hang around;
The best thing going all the single ladies found.
By word of mouth recommendations were spread;
Better than in his last job he kept his family fed.

Married women even had jobs for him to do,
When their husbands were travelling for a night or two;
His calendar fills fast so call now if you want him,
He’ll do what he can to try to fit you in.

He’s a married man who lost his job,
During a depressed economic time;
Willing to do laborious work around your house -
Any kind of odd job he can find.

All this work and where's my spouse?
I suppose he is at work too,
Suffering from the morning blues.
"When you get off today, I say.
You'll have a load to put away.
You can start one more
And I'll head to the store.
While I'm gone
You can turn the vacuum on.
There are dishes in the sink,
Sorry the washers got a kink.
Now don't forget to make the bed
And fluff the pillow for my head.
If you think there's nothing more to do,
You're wrong and that’s why they call it the morning blues".
