No Chain, No Charm

In Unison-
~No Chain, No Charm~

United we own
Firm, full of finest goodies-
Our ground of freedom.

United we stand
Firm from failure and horror-
On the ground of strength.

United we pray
Faithfully with open mind-
Our bliss is assured.

20 Lines Haiku Hijack

          20 Line Haiku Hijack

I stole a haiku from Japan
Stuffed it in a duffle bag, added 20 lines
Fed it chocolate day and night before the flight
Then placed it on the market when I landed

Shrimp and whale tails make sound haiku
Deliciously simple like sushi. Japan hated mine.
Called it distasteful, too heavy and rude
Complaining it suffered from too many lines

I sold the stolen poem to a toothless man next
An Afghanistan Taliban in need of a wife
He realized the mistake and returned it at once
Calling it bland, loveless and torturously trite

I injected a diaphragm on the haiku 2nd line
To prevent undo pregnancies
When left alone to expand, haiku will multiply on command
It grew from 3 to 20 lines in what Japan calls a crime

Hijacking haiku and adding more lines is wrong
It changes the meaning and makes it too long
Haiku will never be the same again
In the end I put it on a train to India…a quatrain to be exact.

Night Vision Needed

Free Verse:

Springtime eternal in the forest.
Slick moss invades the massive rock hillside!
Night will soon bring creatures.

Haiku:

Springtime eternal
Slick moss invades massive rocks
Night soon brings creatures.

Note: Changed the Name of this poem from Slick and Slide to Night Vision Needed because I
was inspired by Barbara Gorelick's comment. Thanks Barbara
And also because someone told me that a poems name was very important. Slick and Slide
didn't do it justice. Thanks Raul.

CRY IN THE NAME OF LUCK

                                          Nature's rivers flow
                                       innocents are carried on
                                         Many get destination
                                         Many are thrown out
                                         Rivers do their duties
Most of them cry in the name of Luck

What is in a name?

A name above all other names.

What lies in a name?
healing, deliverance,
Jesus a name to trust.
