Haiku 19 Barn Life

                                                    Haiku Form

                                              hay, manure, cows
a low long bellow -- ancient
                                      birthing call, s w o o s h . . . life

                                                   Tanka Form

                                         barn filled with hay, cows
moist heat, the smell of manure
wet nose, brown eyes --- time
a hard bellow, the birth cry
                                     final push . . . s w o o s h, miracle

dedicated to Mary Jo, you rock country girl!

"Haiku of enlightenment"

all explanations

fossil of all time
creatures of mother nature
mysterious death

bones found in the dirt
deep under the Earth's surface
museum makes money

no pity chasing down prey
sharp teeth, full belly

evolution change
cascade into the ice age
Life found a new way

fur on new breed
Mammoth hide for the cavemen
elephant cycle

Haiku 27 Life Friend

                                   mornings she greets me

love lines wrinkle her long face

                                    tall, proud, my oak tree

                   -- --
                  -- --

Signature of Life

Over the still pond
a leaning branch of Iris
Messenger of Love

sudden gentle breeze
flower kisses the water
whispering love talk

ripples in water
sending another message
signature of life

Haiku 18: Life Question

                                       what do you see

                      beautifully created -- fatally flawed

                                       will you love me

A Leaf Falls

by Michael J Falotico

                                               leaf sprouts on the tree
                                              baby in the carriage sees
                                                 full bloom in summer.

                                              young man sits on bench
                                           colors change as time passes
                                                 old man holds a leaf

buried secrets

where the seagull dies
stringless origami cries
loneliness of soul

koi fish suffocate
colors fade in Bonsai trees
island in distress

words not understood
shadows grin tricks on rice walls
tsunamis in eyes

geisha of the world
love is lost in illusions
freedom is her dream

men with cold fingers
whither blossom of her spring
harakiri end

in the seagull's grave
origami secrets kept
chicks learn how to fly
