Living Seasons Through

Bodies together
Pressed against the cold, harsh night
We hold on to love

In the sweet, soft spring
We lay on a tall, steep hill
And hold on to love

Summer's baking heat
Hiding in the shade of trees
Still holding our love

The leaves are falling
Crunching beneath our footsteps
Forever, our love

We'll last through seasons
Enjoy our love together
Just you wait, my love.

Fall to Winter, Rise to Spring

Fall to Winter, Rise to Spring

                                            Fallen, down and out
                                     Frozen, not dead nor decayed
                                           Rising, faith with wings!

Broken Branch

Broken Branch
         by Amy Swanson, 2008

Winter-gray tree branch
Hangs low, stricken by the storm
               Broken... but alive.

Probabilities

   relying on chance
trying to find a needle
   inside a haystack

a well-balanced choice
  a winner or a loser
   you can bet on it

     when tossing a coin
the most probable outcome
  would be heads or tails

     lack of dialogue
increases the probable
   failure of marriage

        waking up early
does not always guarantee
    you’ll see the sun rise

  weighing pros and cons
when faced with a decision
  between right or wrong

My Questionku

                                                       You saw me walk...
                                                Then watched as I jumped...
                                                Will you always catch me???

Haiku 1-4

     The serpent sleeps
Coiled, reclining at my feet
     Dreaming of deceit.

  Tempting marshmallows:
Do not rush. Delay will bring
         gratification.

      Morning dew glistens.
She cried her eyes out all night.
      Let the sun shine bright.

        Almond trees blossom
Lightning flashes, thunder drawls.
            Do not be afraid.

My Heart- One With a Leaf

Of a Man's Burden

          Far in the distance,
Amidst the trees, is a man-

As My Math Tutor's Late

          Looking from my desk,
One plus one equals two birds-
