Silent Voice

--Tree Silhouette--

there’s no footsteps around
but fallen leaves

heaven is listening
peaceful lonesomeness
Autumn waits
wind blows the mind
leaves falling softly

Winter's Blood

Nature's dust,
Caking softly white
Silver rust,
Upon globes of grapes.
Wit' her moon powder, of
Autumn's gift:
Her purple sugar.
Aching heart!
Poison'd blue & red,
Nature's blood,
Seal'd in winter's grape.

Hide away here her endless vine,
Her infinite potion of crimson wine.

You leave me after we make love
Moonbeam falls
A poet shares my sorrow

She coils him
Autumn waits

A love bruise
Wicked parrot
Season of rain

His words were diamonds
Wizard of love phrases
He stole my garments

She offered her warm breasts
To her lover in winter night
Icy wind roared

Two leaves are tangled
The tree meditates
He does not know our raptures

Words are lost
Glances weak
Glaciered infinity

My neighbour’s wife
Pulls me
To a sobbing counter

Sighs heavy, hidden moon
Moans, pleasures of the night
Cruel kisses bleed

She fell on my chest
By the dart of love

Hold on some more and hold on
Until the fire is put out
And he would close his eyes

I would wager
He would leave soon
With a trail of cinnabar

He was a noodle
As her eyes were nearly shut
And bottom of the sea sloshed

I had to hold her like a python
Brute yes I am, I couldn’t lose time
To be ambivalent

His tired legs staggered
He fell again on her bosom
God is so ungracious

Incredible cavern
Big black cat walks on curling passages
In search of snail trail

Last night’s sleep
Washed out
My lover’s petting

My husband’s ancient kiss
Fades away
Like charming baubles

A young man hid behind his shadow
At the edge of the river
My bath aroma seeped through his skull

My wife was parabolic
She could not make love
Before her voyage to comet

I can go down her slit
If the river gets more time
To watch my owl

Whence Springs Beauty

It’s October, we find time to go by the spring-house to get the tulips. It is time to prepare for winter and the inevitable coming of spring. The bulbs look hopelessly dead and ugly, rather pitiful in fact. John nurtures them tenderly.

fall gardener tucks the bulbs in bed till spring's alarm
Through many snows and chilling temperatures, we do not consider at all what is taking place under the ground. One warm March day we see tiny noses poking up through the soil around the back porch. By April, we are sitting in the swing admiring the result of John’s loving labor of last fall.
seeing the blooms we recall dried-up bulbs
How could such ugliness have turned to such beauty in the cold, hard earth? As May approaches bringing other flowers, our short-lived tulips drop their blossoms and say good-bye. But as John knows, the wisest of gardeners do not hasten to bother the beauty in its passing.
dust to dust all blossoms shrivel with time food for the soil wilting leaves nourish the bulb hidden in the ground
The bulb remains unattractive throughout the whole cycle of growth. Along in mid-July when all external signs of life have faded, John removes the unsightly bulbs from their bed, putting them back in the spring-house until fall. Without them, there will be no blossoms next spring. It is the care we show the bulb which bursts into the beauty we bless in time. HM

Harvest Moon -- Lughnasadh Haiku

**I wrote against traditional 5 -7-5 and twisted to 7-5-7 on these...can I do that?**

Looking up in the sky at
A full harvest moon
Cool, aglow this autumn night

Mists circle in, surrounding
Earth's last summer song
Warm nights are now memories

The Hunter calls the Chosen
To this sacred grove
Children of seasons gather

The leaves--brown and gold and red
Signify the end
Of summer's warmth and passion

Souls are drawn within, waiting
Keeping close to home
Till winter's dying cycle

 Quietly filling
deep cups of the red blossoms.
 The morning sunrise.

 The rock bowl is full.
Filled by the rain for the birds
 and for my quiet mind.

 Dried stalks of rhubarb
 turn brittle in the summer.
 Born again next year.

 The sparrows come back
to say thank you for their home
 I lovingly made.

 My red dogs eyes gleam.
 Before eating, her eyes ask
 is it OK Dad?

 The strong bowstring sings.
My arrow will find its home
 I turn to sip tea.

 First Love
 How reluctantly
the shy, young man moves forward
 toward the full, red lips.

 In the maiden’s bed
He found his heaven and hell.
 Such was his first love.

 Small favor to ask.
Please spread my ashes on the sea.
 No wife, no roommate.

 Who is Buddah

 She poured my green tea
 Until the cup ran over.
 Now, I know Buddah.

 Cousin Roni was loud.
 Married a Samoan man.
 They both ate roast pig.

 My old friend, Bucky.
Carried a gun in his boot.
 Afraid of himself.

 Old Friend

 Alvin slapped his first wife
and then he married a man.
 I don’t know him now.

 Exercise I

he crosses the wide, busy street,
 to catch up with love.

 Exercise II

 she announces her mistrust.
 Not Republican.

 Exercise III

 She knew the problem.
 He had to learn it.

 All his writing was
 He was egocentric.

 The autumn raging
I am blinded by red leaves.
 Too many to count.

 Surf crashes fiercely.
 Shadows lessen, skies turn gray.
 Winter storm moves near us.

 This Spring, my house burned.
I now have a better view
 of the blue mountains.

 Fresh ink on blue lines
the words come like hungry bees
 to form my Haiku.

A struggle through clouds
passing across chilled blue of

surrounding the restful hazel eyes

Can't you see? That the
winds were stripping trees last time
we sang of how stars

chase sunsets and how
their light is the wake of their
deaths, so long ago.

Lessons From The Leaves and The Tree I

Lessons From The Leaves and The Tree I
( Life's Journey)

Life was beautiful
for all the leaves in the tree
in spring and summer

They flourished and bloomed
under the warm summer sun
and sweetest spring rain

Their color brightened
to a lovely shade of green
that glowed with beauty

Flowering blossoms
from the buds of the fruit tree
brought joy and delight

Little birds would peck
as they sit on the branches
on the lush green leaves

It was the best time
of their lives atop the tree
filled with happiness

But life has seasons
that never stay all the time
they come and they go

Spring and summer passed
autumn came and its cold winds
changing all the leaves

Turning their color
from bright green to brown and red
yellow and orange

Their brightness faded
their loveliness spent and gone
making them pale and weak

How seasons changed them
tempering all their nature
through adversities

Winter will arrive soon
and do her task of sweeping
the bough of the tree

The faded leaves will go
and leave the tree to herself
to make room for spring

When new leaves will grow
to replace those that have gone
in the cold winter

In such a lifetime
they have gone through all seasons
in smooth and rough times

That is how life goes
for all the leaves in the trees
in the cycle of life

Autumnal Beauty

leaves in September
sensing winter and limbo
shiver and whisper.

the falling leaves drift
of red, gold and brown colors
kissed lips of summer.

discolored of age
grumbling, sighing, and broken
ready for descent.

laying a carpet
rich and rare, soft and stocky
worms ready to slip.

I love reading,
reading soothes
my mind, and
take a lot off of
my mind. Reading
is my only weapon to
escape from this crazy
world, without reading, I'd
go insane, more or less die,
reading gives me something
to do when Briana isn't
there. When I read,
I see pictures of the story,
and I go in their world.
It's like I'm crazy, and
everyone else is normal, but
really I'm just like everyone else.
Reading is Exhilarating,
I love reading.
Reading is my friend.
The stories I love most
are mysteries, action,
Suspense, and a little romance.
I am my mom's little
bookworm, and forever I will
Stay. There's nothing more
awesome than
reading on a cold winter
day, you can also read on a
hot summer day, it doesn't
matter, you can even read
on a cool autumn day.
You can read anytime, and
at any place.

Summer Nights

The longest day comes
Summer nights are soon passing
The moon is rising

I toss in my sleep
Waiting for the turquoise sky
To turn a dark blue

There is a chill now
Rain, wind, and humidity
Worrying me here

Country drives restore
The Bracken will soon turn brown
I am not ready

I want to sleep soon
But my restlessness is strong
I must find my self

Before the Autumn
Leaves fall upon on the crowded streets
And my dawn is noon

Father once told me

Father once told me
darkness is absence of light;
spaces void of sight.

Fall is marching near,
stealing the identity
of the oak and pine.

The leaves surrender,
responding to gravity;
strewn like scattered chords -

specks of changing emotion
watching from below.

The tremulous night,
suspended in a moon beam;
unshielded, alone.

Hues of green dispel,
replaced with burning orange
and delicate brown.

summer invokes departure,
fixed in memory.

Fairy Nature

I'm fairy nature,
come to collect fall's leaf wares
to help make a coat.

A coat of sunsets,
a last breath of summer's glow
to wrap up autumn.

I disguise myself
living amongst the woodlands,
squirrels, bugs, birds, bees.

Slowly with magic
I single handedly turn
the seasons over;

sweeping winds and driving rains,
giving nature rest till spring.

I nourish the land.
Autumn's blanket becomes crisp,
stark, white, purity,

I contrast, redecorate
new, sleek, sexy, wavy tones.

All 5 senses are expressed within this write, looking at touch, taste, sight, sound and smell.
'make a coat','wrap up' all indicate being touched or enfolded for warmth/ does
winter's 'blanket'
sounds - could be taken from the animals, and weather...'crisp' evokes sound also. 'rest'-
evokes quieter times...
smell - comes from earthy woodlands and fallen leaves, contrasted with freshness of icy or
snowy air...
taste - evoked from 'nourish', 'last breath' of Autumn and new breath of winter air.
sight- comes from the autumn colours evoked from the 'sunset' and greens and browns
of 'woodlands', 'sexy', purity of ice and snow, 'falls leaf wares' - reds, oranges, yellows and
