What Easter Means to Me

I followed you from Galilee
To that sad day on Calvary
     Of love You spoke
     New hope You woke

Some said I was a prostitute
In me You saw no ill repute
     My heart now cries
     I watch You die

Sharp spikes that pierce Your hands draw blood
And through my heart emotions flood
     A Son so blessed
     Is laid to rest

Three days I stayed outside Your tomb
Never to see You I presumed
     And though I mourned
     Glory's reborn

I genuflect and watch You rise
To join Your Father in the skies
     This blessed day
     Showed us “The Way”

The sacrifice You made for man
Celebrated in many lands
     Easter Sunday
     Give thanks and pray

Written in the first-person view of Mary Magdalene, one of Christ’s best known
disciples. According to modern religious scholars, the Gospels of Mark and John say
she was the first person to see Jesus after he rose from the dead.

Mary Magdalene

One summer eve in Galilee
I stood before my open door;
To me it seemed just one more night--
Like all the others gone before.
Someone would come and, passing by,
Would hear the tinkling of the bells,
Would see the garish harlot's robe
And painted eyes beneath my veil.
Someone, a man like all the rest--
It did not matter much to me--
A nobleman, Samaritan,
A Roman or a Pharisee,
Someone would pause and with one glance
Strip me again of maiden pride,
And leaving, later, never know
The shame and shattered dreams I hide.
O, he would think me very gay;
He would not see my hollow heart
Nor hear me curse him for his pay.
T was then I saw a band of men
Approaching down the narrow road;
There should be one among that crowd
Who wants the favors I bestow.
Kind eyes met mine, and with one look,
He saw what others could not see;
He saw the hunger of my soul,
My loneliness and misery.

I only know that since that day
I live to walk along with Him.
His look of love has changed my life;
I need not sell my love again.
Tonight He sups at Simon's house__
All day the dusty paths we roamed;
But, still he waits, unwashed, unkissed;
Small courtesies no one has shown.
My love for Him! It rolls and swells
Till from His side I cannot stay;
I'll wash His feet with tears of love
And with my hair wipe them away.

What Easter Means To Me

Tears of joy streak down
My dust covered face
As I just wandered by and witnessed
The utmost glorious grace

Just three days ago
I watched them crucify
The son of God himself
The man called Jesus Christ

They poked him with their spears
Wet his tongue with a vinegar sponge
Nailed him to a tree
And taunted “you’re not God’s son.”

He hung there ‘til he died
From his side water did drop
They buried him in a tomb
Where today I had to stop

Past three days the door was covered
A large stone placed there that day
But, today as I walked by
An angel rolled it away

He had kept his promise
Only 3 days would he lay dead
To forgive us all our sins
And, I believed in what he said

He glided out of the tomb
As if floating in the air
“Do not be afraid” he said,
With gentle love, and care

He represents new life
And all the wounds he can heal
Is Easter day your resurrection?
Can Jesus Christ be your shield?

I weep to think of the pain
He endured for you and me
So he could take away our sins
And one day, set us free!

Wood and Nails

After planking some wood,
I carried it across the yard,
two boards at a time upon my shoulders.

When I finished erecting the stack of wood,
she offered a refreshing sip from her cup
and nailed me harder than Jesus had been.

(the irony of the wood and nails didn't escape me)

I figure this to be a great tradition to uphold
during the Easter holidays:

the wood and nails,
the resurr.erection,
riding a divine ascension into heaven
upon her thighs.

And on the third day
he rose again

and again.

*This is referring to the hybridization of Easter as decreed by Constantine,
and the pre-existing Ishtar celebration of sex and fertility.
Ishtar is the root-origin of the word: Easter.

If you were to ask me, I'd say that Constantine attempted ruining a good thing.
It is one of my many life goals to help resurrect feel-good Pagan celebrations such
as the Ishtar Spring Festivities.

If one has a willing lover, this celebration is easy to partake in,
and can be most pleasurable: simply plank some wood and start nailing.
A sustained rhythm is highly advisable when engaging in a good session of nailing.

Happy Ishtar/Easter Holy Days!

Son Rise Service

At the joyful sunrise service on Easter morn
On the sands of Daytona Beach no lines are drawn
Worshippers from each Christian denomination
Gather in unison as one congregation

Protestants, Mormons and Catholics in pre-dawn haze
Chorus of voices offering hymns of great praise
As the sun rises here, just as God’s son rose then
For a moment in time, many faiths are brethren

When the first rays of light streak across the ocean
‘Neath glowing pink light, we celebrate Christ risen
Surely God smiles down as all believers embrace,
Celebrate the Resurrection, bask in His grace

Good will is conveyed as heartfelt pledges are made
That the love displayed on Easter will never fade
All in attendance take this vow seriously
Knowing Christ’s sacrifice heals all humanity

Road to Redemption

What I would give to have lived during Your time,
it makes me wonder...would I have believed?
Water into wine, what a moment sublime,
touching your garments, would healing I receive?

Up that sycamore fig, I would also climb
heed Your parables; be at Mt. Olives.
Would I be like Peter, and falter at sea?
Would I fall asleep at Gethsemane?

With each step You took towards Calvary,
after the mocks, scourges and crown of thorns,
under the heat of that sun, where would I be?
I wonder, would I have walked with You, or scorn?

My soul aches, as my heart answers honestly...
I fall on my knees, and ask to be reborn.
Keeping vigil by the Cross, with candles lit,
thankful for Easter—redemption for spirit.

THE LEGEND OF THE EASTER LILY

The end of the beginning drew very near so Jesus went to pray in the garden, Heavy was His pure heart, bruised by burden, And olive trees soon misted with His tears. He knelt beside a patch of lavender, Roses dropped petals asking for pardon, Sand only softened, refused to harden, While poppies bent their heads closer to hear. Evening deepened as Son talked to Father, Geraniums paled, His pain they could see, Daises bowed low to man’s sinless brother, Gethsemane kneeled to the Rabboni. Seeded by grace, grew a blessed flower, ~A blossom of hope, the Easter lily~
“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, "he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour migh pass from him. “Abba, Father,” he said, “Everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 34-36 By Cyndi MacMillan for Linda Marie's Easter Inspirations Contest ABOUT THIS POEM I researched the garden of Gethsemane, and all the flowers save for the Easter Lily could very well have grown there on the night before the crucifixion. The Easter Lily is NOT mentioned in scripture (though lilies are mentioned often throughout the bible). This poem is written with the intent to honor our Lamb, and not as an accurate representation of Christ’s anguished hours. This is mixed sonnet. It has an Italian octave and a Sicilian sestet.

Crying Hosanna

Americans love the day of Easter for all its pageantry
the Sunday outfits, the fancy hats and the chocolate candy
but Christians love Easter for what it truly represents
it's the Resurrection day of Jesus the Christ our salvation present
it's a time to reap the benefits for the victory we won
when high on a cross at Mt. Calvary a sacrifice was done

yet many forget the significance of the Sunday of the Palms
when on an untamed colt Jesus the Christ rode in on
humbly riding on the back of a service domestic beast
He came to serve, support and sacrifice for the least
God had need of that donkey at that appointed hour
like He has need of each of us to be the manifestation of His power
God will use anything when it comes to achieving His goals
be it a person, place or thing it's He who is in control

to serve God's purpose that is our true mission in life
to do whatever He requires of us in the name of Jesus the Christ
but more often than not we're tied up with earthly things
but God will find the means to cut away those binding strings
God will send something or someone to help you break free
just have the spirit of discernment that it's not coming from the Adversary

now those who witnessed Jesus' triumphant display
laid clothing and leaves of palm on the ground to pave His way
crying Hosanna to the highest blessed is He
the Son of Man who came to give us life abundantly
stripping off their mantles and cloaks of society
laying bare their faith for all the world to see
trusting and receiving
in the Messiah they're believing
crying Hosanna, Hosanna blessed is He
the Prince of Peace who came to serve and save you and me

The Easter Prayer of Thanks

The Easter Prayer of Thanks "2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow." Matt 28:2-3 NIV God, thank you for the gift of Easter; The sacrifice of your Son so treasured. To save our souls through your grace and mercy, That by heaven alone can be measured. Thank you for giving us hope; The hope of life after the grave. Winter dies and Spring comes to life— The resurrection of the saved! Your hand rules the universe With great glory and power. We give thanks for your love for us, And for every beautiful opening flower. We thank you for the birds That sing your praises every morn, And for the lofty mountains That with Winter's snow you adorn. Thank you for friends and family And the blessings that they bring, At this very special time— Christ's resurrection and the grandeur of Spring! Thank you for salvation Made possible by your love. Thank you that we have the hope of heaven— Easter's promise from above. May we all meet our Redeemer, As you come for us in the air, Because of Easter's hope of eternity, and the privilege of prayer! What Easter meant for us

I want to write a poem about Easter for you Lord
Easter is a special Day
A day that you had died for us and were raised from the dead
A day when one’s sins are forgiven once they believe in You
And accept You as their Savior
A day where one becomes new as you raised from the dead
So he or she is raised from the spiritual death
A day to celebrate Life –the Eternal Life
Your Life, our Life
Life is possible only after you obeyed and followed your Father’s will
Life is possible only after you endured the pain and gave up your life
It’s because of You that we now can be with you and have Life - eternal
The sacrificial Lamb
Because of You Jesus, our sins are forgiven and we are perfect in God’s eyes
Because of You, we can enjoy the life here now on earth and then will too in Heaven
We are new creations –our old ones are gone
We are free
No longer bound to sins and death
Because of You, nothing can touch us
We are separated by the Blood of the King
Because of You, we received our healing in advance
You paid with your life for us at Calvary
God did not forsake You
Just like He did not forsake us
And sent You to take our place
Thank you Jesus for what you’ve done
Died in our place – You who have no sins
Became sins for us
Jesus, that is what Easter meant for us
Indebted to you Lord
Forever our Rescuer, Redeemer, Deliverer
Savior
Forever Our greatest King

The Pain and the Agony

The Pain and the Agony The Pain and the Agony Jesus felt that day; It tortured His being; Death held no delay. Even to take a breath The pain was so extreme; The sins of us all, Crushed him beam to beam. The cross of the Romans; Built to inflict much pain. The pain of our sin-bearer Was suffered for our gain. Because He truly loves us, He was prepared to die. Stricken on the cross, Few heard His agonizing cry! The cross was one of victory— Victory over death, When Christ gave up the Spirit; Breathed His last breath. Satan in his ignorance Thought he’d finally won; Didn’t know this was just the beginning; New life would be given God's only Son. The Pain and the Agony; Blood was shed for you and me. This ultimate sacrifice God gave to set us free; Freedom from the bondage Of sin that Satan brought, Upon a sinless Eden, To bring us sin's onslaught. Tender of Roses

Beloved, lovely roses: gift of God and lover’s flower,
Spread your colored petals and cradle tender showers.
While admiring the blossoms with their beauty to behold,
Ought we not to know the Tender of such lovely garden groves?

For He lovingly and thoughtfully wields His pruning shears
To cut away the stems of old for fuller future years.
He cultivates and feeds them. He attends them as a Father
Looking daily to their needs; so faithfully He waters.

From the dawn of morning dew until the setting sun arrays
Caring always for His own until that great appointed day…
When the Gardener comes to claim each one the earth held as its own.
He gently picks it at its peak and for His pleasure takes it home.

As God did one glorious morning, when the Perfect Rose had bloomed.
He rolled away the stone and met with Mary at the tomb.
There the sweetest Rose of Sharon rose that we die not alone.
But be gathered for a garden grove, surrounding heavens throne.

Christ Is Risen

Christ the Lord was crucified,
He was nailed to a rough hewn cross.
Ridiculed by those He came to save,
Innocent man paid the ultimate cost.
Shedding His blood to pay for our sin - He died.
Three days later He rose from the grave - Alive!

Inconceivable, indescribable, miraculous event.
Son of God, Savior, God's greatest gift!

Rejoice in the Lord! All praise to our King!
In pure adulation let Hallelujahs ring!
Shout to the Lord! He has conquered the grave!
Evermore He's alive - Believe and He'll save.
New life in Jesus is available today!.

Happy Easter!

True Meaning of Easter Time--and Day

Easter Time... and day...
This is shown in many ways
Some celebrate it... by an Easter bunny
Tis funny
How the world man-made...
To distract Our Lord's Day

True meaning of Easter Time and Day
Tis God made a way... For all of Us to be Saved

Tis the day.. Our Lord and Savior
Was Crucified.. On the Cross
Nails driven in both hands and feet
Blood dripped down.. From thorns of a crown
That the soldiers placed on His head
They killed Our Lord.. Sword threw His side
Yes.. Our Precious Lord.. Jesus died..

Then the Earth Shook
Moment Jesus took
All our sins-suffering- disease -pain-away
Then three days
Our Beautiful Savior Raised
Jesus Our Divine Christ
Raised up from the dead
Save Our Souls... giving Eternal Life

Resurrected... for us to become redeemed from our sins
We have the opportunity to become Born-again
All God asks... of us is to believe
What His Only Begotten Son... had done
To whomsoever believes shall not perish
But have Everlasting Life
With Our Savior Jesus Christ
Live in Eternity... Forever

As we know... this world shall pass away
But Our Savior Shall Live on Forever

The ways of this world
Don't want anyone to know
The Truth... in Easter Time... Day...
For Tis then those whom has eyes to see
Hearts to believe...
Shall become saved... Born-again
Their Souls then... Live Eternally with Him
Jesus Christ... Our Divine King

Come to Jesus
While there is still time

What Easter Means to Me

There he stood, the Son of God and man His looks was average; like ordinary men Messiah in our presence! Yet, so few believed In spite of amazing miracles none of which had been seen before I tried to move a bit closer; away from the throng Was allowed no entry within the Governor’s gates Yet, I could see through the tall, marble columns He stood still; silent and regal just as a king The enemy smirked as he hung amongst the crowd; and thought he had won Predictably, pride once more would preempt his game My Lord in humility remained, though sadness and pain reflected in his eyes All alone, he faced accusing tongues and yet, he gave no response Dead silence hovered within the Prefect’s tall gates as he queried ‘Are you King of the Jews?’ My Lord replied, ‘It is as you say.’ Caiaphas and others, ruled by ego, it seemed, became bitterly enraged! Deadly pride indwelled; self assured, none thought to pray for discernment He was beaten and mocked; he was boldly spat upon The one who cleanse the lepers, and revived some long dead Not in secret were these miracles performed; but in the presence of multitudes Some with eyes could not see, and the darkness cast shadows of deeper doubt He was crowned with thorns; a mockery; made to bear the massive cross And as he passed before me, silent tears flooded my eyes What am I that he should suffer bitter humiliation and death on my account? I was on the road to Hell and Eternal Love has come to rescue me! As he hung upon that wooden cross, captivated by numbness, was I He cried, ‘It is finished!’ Then death lost its hold- the veil, forever torn! In the deepest level of Hades, the enemy cowered as he hides For again he has failed.. Purest Love has overcome ultimate hate ~*~

Work

Work.
Toil.
The pain I put in the ground.
For such a precious thing.
Corn.
The family enjoys their meal.
They plant their leftover kernels.
And wait for me to tend to them.

The True Meaning of Easter

The True Meaning of Easter! The true meaning of the Easter story, Is God’s Son came down to Earth from glory. Jesus really does love you and me. He was born to die that you might be free. For 33 years, he lived among sinful men. Then one day was to be an atonement for our sin. He who was born of the virgin Mary’s womb. Was to one day rise again from an empty tomb. So many people today have gotten into a bad habit, of replacing Jesus with the bunny rabbit. So please reach out to others and let them know, Of the lover and redeemer of their soul. The true meaning of Easter must forever be said. Of God’s son who died, but arose from the dead! By Jim Pemberton

'Unquestionable Worth'

Imagine what life would be like
if our worth were determine by man

if our mistakes were a barometer of our worth
our favour would run hot and cold
like a see-saw through each day

each breathe we took would be a struggle
the one thing we do without thinking
would be so difficult to achieve

but we've been blessed beyond our imagination
because even in our darkest hour
even when we are down in the valley

God sees our worth
His Son chose to die for us
He declared; she is worth the sacrifice
He declared; he is worth the sacrifice

when in doubt,
when we feel unloved
we need to focus on the cross

God thought we were worth the sacrifice then

He still does; even today

An Empty Tomb in Jerusalem

“ 1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!” Acts 20:1-2 NIV There’s An Empty Tomb in Jerusalem, Where Christ slept for three days; Then was resurrected— His Father above to highly praise. He slept upon the Sabbath, Until that Sunday morn, But arose early in the day; When victory over evil was born. That empty tomb’s a reminder That Christ is living now; Resurrected from the dead— By His Father’s power to endow. He’s the only religious leader To leave an empty grave; All other religions are ‘works’; Useless hope of heaven to crave. That empty tomb is precious, Because it is a sign— Of the fact that evil’s conquered, And very soon will be benign. Man is given victory— Over sin and over death. Through the righteousness of Christ, Each soul finds heaven’s hearth. That empty tomb’s a mystery That only God comprehends; A reminder of His love, And the mercy that He sends. Because He truly loves us, He found a way to recall— All His righteous children; A heavenward journey to enrol. Copyright © 2010-2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com

A Kind and Gentle Man

I had a dream that I walked behind
a man in white cloth - so gentle, so kind;
he told me his name with his fatherly voice
and asked me to follow, though it was my choice

He talked in stories which made me think,
while he told large crowds to take of his drink;
he walked among beggars, cripples, and thieves,
and he only asked us that we all just believe

I watched his miracles bring back the dead,
and I wept as they shoved thorns upon his head;
I watched him be beaten, spit on and cursed,
and on the day he died - the clouds rained with a burst

I cried because I had lost my very dear friend,
although, he told me that it was not the end;
I didn't understand this man, this begotten son
was the way to eternal life - for me and everyone

I walked alone without him there,
and felt so lonely because my soul did care;
this gentle man they did kill for me,
so I could live on and really be free

When I awoke from my dream I had a plan,
to live my life - to be a better man;
for what I learned from this only one
is that He is truly God's only son

I know my friend will always be,
even at times when I can't always see;
for a life is lost - without the One,
a kind and gentle man we call the Son.

A Perfect Day

Friday had been the saddest day
That my young life had ever known
The loneliness that my heart felt
Just would not leave me alone

The clouds that filled the afternoon
With their darkness and their dread
Left remorseful feelings alive inside
Along with feelings that seemed so dead

On Saturday when I did awaken
My world was much worse it seemed
For the gloom and darkness it embraced
Left my mind aloof in sad daydreams

Of what my eyes had seen to transpire
On that dark, cold Friday afternoon
I only prayed and hope what was written
Would come to fruition so very soon

As the last twenty four hours ticked away
The hope in my heart did begin to rise
For it began to beat so steady again
Waiting for the prophesied moment to arrive

But many in the room praying around me
Saw their faith begin to slip and fade
Not believing that what was happening
Would be much more than just another day

My heart awaiting the time to come closer
Anticipating the joy it would soon receive
Felt the rhythms of the approaching moment
For deep within it never failed to believe

I heard the most beautiful enchanting melodies
Embracing me from deep within His tomb
And upon hearing the hearty voices of angels
I sensed He would be rising so very soon

And the last twenty four hours did finally end
Sweeping my sadness and loneliness away
Replacing it with pure joy, and happiness
For He rose from the grave on a perfect day.

What Easter Means to Me

What Easter Means to Me! I think about what Easter means to me. There’s message that I hope you’ll see. There is a truth, a purpose for believing. But too often, it’s lost it’s true meaning! In this society, there tends to be a habit. Of comparing Easter with the bunny rabbit. There’s chocolate, candy and eggs in the store. As people come back, looking for more. There’s a message of God he wants to tell you. A message a life. Don’t let others fool you! A new life in Jesus, can be yours for the asking. An abundance of HIS love and life everlasting! HE is alive! He arose from the dead! His message of life eternal will forever be said! His gifts of love and mercy is for all to receive. He stands at your hearts door. Won’t you believe? What Easter means, is that Jesus is risen! This day… You can be cleansed and forgiven! Won’t you allow HIS message to touch your soul? The risen Jesus can make you whole! Let’s proclaim God’s message and make it clear! Jesus Christ is alive today! He is right HERE! The tomb is empty! The stone is rolled away! This is God’s time! The Lord’s resurrection day! I Believe

As for the origin of holidays, I'm definitely not very smart.
I am a Catholic Christian, speaking simply from my heart.

Concerning Christmas and Easter, we have been doubly blessed.
We have experienced the great Love of God made manifest!

Christmas is the holiday that celebrates our Savior's birth,
The day God chose to send His Perfect Love to earth!

On Easter we remember the gift of His life, death, and resurrection.
We wait with hope in His return, with His Holy Spirit our connection!

As our Blessed Mother Teresa shared concerning love for God,
Be faithful in your service to Him wherever you may trod.

Whether you are Hindu, Christian, Muslim, or Jew,
The Creator of us all holds us with His Love so true!

Triumph At the Cross

Triumph At the Cross “ 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. ” Col 2:15 NIV Christ triumphed over Satan And his unholy alliance; Made a public spectacle of evil In His sacrifice of compliance. Satan was stripped of his power; His authority lost forever. Christ in His obedience Became our High Priest of favor. Although it seemed all was lost To His disciples and followers alike, Christ’s Triumph At The Cross Began with each cruel strike. He was beaten for our healing, His blood spilt for our redemption— The Son of the Most High, Made responsible for all creation. The Triumph At the Cross Was not what it appeared. Failure to the world Was victory veneered. On the resurrection morning, Christ’s victory was made known. Demons watching His body, In great fear of God had flown. Although Christ had been tempted, Not once did He sin. His obedient life and resultant death— Ensured the Victor to win. Triumph At the Cross Rendered Satan a banished foe. To the powers of evil, This was a mighty blow. This poem is featured in my Easter Poems book Copyright © 2010-2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com

A walk to the Cross

When Jesus walked to Calvary,
He fell many times along the way,
His heavy load caused Him to stumble,
Are we too proud to be so humble?

Our life is our walk to Calvary,
We also will fall along the way,
Our load is worry, fear and hate,
Do we deserve to reach the Golden Gate?

All His life Jesus did nought but good,
We would do the same if only we could,
If only we could embrace His way,
Our faith would grow stronger each passing day.

For forty days in the wilderness,
Satan watched to see Him transgress,
He never did, to His Father he was true,
Oh; this could happen to me and to you.

God loves us so much, that He gave up His son,
Who died for us in a terrible way,
Our sins, on His back, he bore that day,
God couldn't watch, He turned away.

Jesus died and was laid in a tomb of stone,
For three days He lay there but not alone,
Angels watched o'er Him day and night
On the third day the stone was rolled away.

Jesus was risen on that Easter morn'
His grave clothes were left for all to see,
Death was defeated and Satan cried,
I have been beaten, my prize denied.

What Jesus did all those centuries past,
Was to set us free from his clutches at last.
Now we can live our lives the Jesus way,
The Cross stands forever, pointing the way.

Now, Satan can test us, try all he might,
But Jesus protects us, both day and night,
Satan will always be there on our shoulder,
But Jesus' love just makes us bolder.

I don't know about you, but as for me,
I'll take my walk to Calvary,
I'll bear the scars of Satan's attack,
But I'll be ready when Jesus comes back.

I Hear the Bells, I Hear the Bells

I hear the Bells, I hear the Bells
At morning, noon and night each day
They are a reminder of the time
A reminder of past days.

And I think to myself over the years
How many others have used them as I do
to also keep the time
To remember things as I do.

A time to worship, a time to eat
A time to marry, a time to meet
A time to put loved ones in the the ground
A time to let them take their leave.

These bells have many voices
Some happy and some filled with grief.
They resonate with me and in me always
I can still hear some of them in my sleep.

I can still hear the Bells of Christmas morn
Little children's faces filled with glee
I can still hear the Bells of Easter morn
Christ's resurrection paid our fees.

I can hear their sounds for when my children were born
A proud parent of a new family
A family that had numbered two
But was now happily three.

I can hear the Bells of Sunday worship
Ringing every Sunday morn
Celebrating God's awesome forgiveness
Celebrating the day that his son was born.

I can hear the Bells from loved one's funerals
As we lay their bodies to rest
Never ever wanting to say earthly goodbyes
Just trying to live through the sad day and do our best.

These bells are part of my daily life
They always have been and will continue to be
The Heralds of life's brief ticking clock
Unlike life, they will always continue to ring and to be.

I will use them to mark my moments
Both significant and mundane.
I will use them to always remember
To love my God and my church in every way.

I will use them to remember my family
I will use them to remember those friends I love
To be grateful for each of my children
To be grateful for just having had been.

I will use them to be grateful for all of the things in my life
To be grateful for all of those I love
To be grateful for each of my earthly days
To be grateful for the heavens above.

What Easter Means To Me

~What Easter Means To me~ Passover is here once again Nisan fourteenth, but what do we gain Some have chocolate eggs, that's what they wait for. But what does it mean this date we adore. It is now called Easter, in our modern times But what is the story behind this old crime The death of Jesus although long ago foretold Was not to give eggs and bunnies to hold. The death of Jesus was to wipe out our sins The resurrection was to show a new way begins On the third day when Jesus arose The women were aghast that the tomb was not closed Two men in flashing clothes stood close on by The women were frightened and did not look high Why are you looking for the living amongst the dead? Jesus is not here, he is raised up instead. Jesus died a man, the prophecy now fulfilled But was raised as a King by his father, his heavenly Kingdom to build. He gave his life to fulfill the prophecy and pay the ransom price Right down to his coat being cast lots over with dice. He died to give us all a chance to live So think about this more when chocolate eggs you do give.

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries.

Epochs apart, yet,
bound by conscience,

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

Enduring the whispers of time,
through creeds professed,
sermons preached,
and a million sins confessed.

Though,

the essence,
of these banished revolutionaries,
is ceremonially muted by ritual,
and gleefully crushed under,
grandiose edifices,
that serve Religion Inc.

"And the meek shall inherit the earth",
an incendiary thought,
conveniently discarded,
for the pie in the sky that must be sought.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
stings.
stabs,
whispers still,
for us to hear,
through the din of the cacophony of prayer.

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
persists,
each day that we choose,
to shun the meek,
and mouth conscience-salving prayers,

for yet more silver,
and yet more silk.

The Message of the Cross

The Message of the Cross The Message of the Cross Is foolishness to those perishing. But to us who are being saved, It’s the power of God refreshing. The wisdom of this world Is foolishness to God above. Christ’s sacrificial crucifixion— A mighty measure of His love. The message of Christ crucified Was to the Jews a stumbling block; To the Gentiles foolishness; To both a type of roadblock. God chooses the foolish things To confound the wise. Fishermen to tell the gospel— Ultimately despised. The Message of the Cross Tells of God’s bountiful love; Those who followed Christ, Received his power from above. For most were simple men Not of higher education; In simplicity God is glorified; Needs no human wisdom of foundation. God wants us to boast In His power from heaven; His wise, precious word By His Holy Spirit driven. The Message of the Cross Will forever be lost, To those seeking man’s wisdom; Eternal death their cost! Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2008-2012

Death, Hell and the Grave Defeated

Death, Hell and the Grave Defeated "I will ransom them from the power of the grave ; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction?" Hos 13:14 NIV Death, hell and the grave Were defeated at the cross, Although Christ's life appeared a failure; No possible gain just loss. This is where death lost its victory; Resurrection made possible. Just as Christ was resurrected; Called forth by God’s heavenly angel. Christ raised not a hand to resist The evil powers at his side. Without His total surrender, Death’s grave would forever reside. The cross was perceived as failure, But it was victory instead. For that was the world's perception Of our Savior’s bloodshed. Death, hell and the grave Have been defeated for some time. Although death persists, The righteous find their Spring time. Christ will soon come To call them from their graves; Take them home to heaven; Where sin no more enslaves. Three Days Hence

It's been seven years, I almost forgot-
not this day: but the distance we've climbed.
I couldn't remember my age, because it correlates
to years we've been apart.

I forgot to be apprehensive, this time it was sneaky.
It waited for the first happy holiday wishing
from some idiot to remind me.
   It was Good Friday.
When God took your spirit home
and left me dying to know,
how to love him for his sacrifice
when he asked me to give up you?
How do I heal this death and rise with you in his arms?

I blasphemy, I know, but you loved him more
in sight of you that graceful place grows
pale in and foreign in mine eye.

Alas, I fail the test, I could not be as strong as you.

We knew it would not wait, but the parting was still to fast.
I sat in thought three days before your sleep and asked,
"In three days time my savior died, I wonder hence
what of my soul will rise with his?"

And sitting easter morning,
holding some idiots well wished basket,
I realised Three days passed.
He took you home and left me lost on Friday morn,
I wailed my loss through Saturdays more,
and Easter morning I felt your last hug, your kiss good bye.

I cursed my self for asking, if my soul would rise with his,
because you, my love, are my soul and all ready there
there fore I am not strong enough to give this pain up
to honor his sacrifice and transcend, I sit still lost and wonder:

I believe and I love, but I don't know how to rise
I don't now how to live again.
Faith crushed I don't think I can trust.
I am the shell of your grace trying once more
to live in the love that failed me, as I failed the gift of his sacrifice.

Christ Is Risen Today

Christ Is Risen Today “After three days I will rise again.” Matt 27:62,63 Oh what joy— Christ Is Risen today! Tell all the nations Of His resurrection Sunday; How an angel called Him To come forth from the grave; Rolled away the stone with ease, As a pebble covered by a wave. The Roman guards all fainted From the angel’s bright glory. Then ran in fear to the priests Who concocted a false story, That the disciples had stolen The body of their Lord. Whilst the guards were sleeping— Money, this lie did afford. Christ Is Risen Today That’s the greatest news! For He’s the first fruits From which the righteous take their cues. Because Christ Is Risen Today, We have hope for tomorrow. The dead in Christ will rise first; An end of all sorrow. Of the whole Easter Story, This is the very best part. What joy it brings To every searching heart. There’s no other story In the Bible anywhere, That is more glorious, To each and every ear. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2008-2012 www.maureenlefanue.com

The Easter Miracle

All dolled up in her Easter dress
She sat quietly watching through the glass
Children with baskets searching around
For the eggs i’d hidden in the grass

Her spirit soared among the clouds
Her smile as bright as her eyes
She lived each day for the moment
Scoffing the reality that underlies

It was shortly after her third birthday
When the devastating news came in
Plagued with a rare form of cancer
Faced with a battle she wouldn’t win

The doctors uncertain of her remaining time
So her quality of life was our goal
Family and friends said nightly prayers
Asking God to watch over her soul

Treatment commenced, but to no avail
My little Glass Princess was slipping away
I wasn’t ready to say good-bye
Not now, tomorrow or any day

I placed my head upon her chest
And held her body tight
I felt a presence and opened my eyes
To a most incredible sight

A bearded man in Holy cloth
Standing beside her bed
He said he’d come another time
Then gently kissed her head

I knew I had witnessed a miracle
I asked the doctor to check her condition
He said “ I have no explanation”
Her cancer has gone into remission

Nineteen years ago she defeated the odds
And this Easter she’ll wear a wedding dress
I have never questioned what happened that day
When Jesus kissed my little Glass Princess

Your Rose

Lord, I would be like Your own sweet Rose
When underneath the world's vain rush
I have been bruised; a wounded thrush,
Whose song is trapped within its throat,
Who cannot lift to voice one note
Its weary head and sorrow knows.

Though I be trampled 'neath the throngs
Of grasping, pleasure seeking souls
And waves of pain high in me roll,
I would be crushed in silence, deep,
That even my inmost soul would keep
And whisper not of how was wronged.

But ever, as with vengeance black,
They tramp the petals, limp and torn,
Would send forth fragrance, sweet and warm,
And bless the feet of that mad crowd,
Beneath their onslaught remain bowed
And by Your love turn hatred back.

It was Your wounding, sacred Rose,
The fragrance of Your love for me
Blown by the winds of infamy
Down from that dark hill, Calvary,
That brought Your passion home to me
And feeds the flower which in me grows.

The Name Above Every Name

The Name Above Every Name “ 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phil 2:9-11 NIV Christ took the nature of a servant And was created in human likeness. He humbled himself before all; His obedience provided our righteousness. God exalted His humble Son And gave Him The Name Above Every Name. At this name every knee will bow, In heaven and on earth His praise proclaim. Every tongue will confess That Jesus Christ is Lord of all. He glorified the Father above And harkened death’s necessary call. He made us children of God; Changed from slaves to heirs instead. The Name Above Every Name— The lamb of sacrifice to wed. The Name Above Every Name Is upon the lips of His faithful servants, Not through force but love alone; The Holy Spirit's implants. We should be so grateful, That Christ died for us to be saved; That He rose again from death’s pit; Eternity on our hearts engraved. The Name Above Every Name Is to be glorified for all time. Let’s worship Christ and give him thanks, For His love so heavenly divine. Let us shine like stars in the evening sky, So that all who look up will see, The Name Above Every Name, To be worshiped for eternity! The Easter Bunny

The easter bunny,
So fluffy and funny.

Bunny's tall ears,
They don't reveal the years.

Cotton tail,
Hopping to and fro along the trail.

Nose what a wiggle,
Makes parents and children giggle.

Gentle and kind,
To each and every mind,

Nature's beauty defined,
So demure and refined.

A vision of chocolate brown,
Hopping up and down.

A distance from the lettuce patch,
Looking for the bunny match.

God's creature great and small,
Simply loved by all.

Prelude

The little hand lay open in his mother's palm;
Large tears washed streaks of white across two dirty cheeks.
His soft, dark eyes were wide with innocence and pain,
And small, trembling lips found it difficult to speak.

She held him close and wiped the spot of blood away
And applied to the injury a bit of balm.
"Now, don't cry; a carpenter often hurts his hands.
All will be well. Shall Mama sing to you a psalm?"

The child's sobs hushed; all around the house grew still
Save for the sound of Joseph's tools against the wood.
"Sing the shepherd's psalm, Mama; sing of the way through
Death's shadowed valley and the Shepherd who is good."

Mary pressed his rosy cheek closer to her breast;
Her eyes welled up with stinging tears; her face grew pale.
She held the little injured hand and knew not why
She trembled so at the imprint of one small nail.

The True Meaning Of Easter

The True Meaning of Easter

The true meaning of
the Easter story,
Is God’s Son came down
to Earth from glory.

Jesus really does
love you and me.
He was born to die
that you might be free.

For 33 years, he lived
among sinful men.
Then one day was to be
an atonement for our sin.

He who was born of the
virgin Mary’s womb.
Was to one day rise again
from an empty tomb.

So many people have
gotten into a habit,
of replacing Jesus
with the bunny rabbit.

So please reach out to others
and let them know,
Of the lover and redeemer
of their soul.

The true meaning of Easter
must forever be said.
Of God’s son who died,
but arose from the dead!

The First Easter Son Rise

THE FIRST EASTER “SON” RISE

On that first Easter morning
Before the break of day
Mary visited the tomb of the Savior
But the stone was rolled away

Going in, she did not find Him
Instead, two men who said,
Why seek you the living
Here among the dead?

He's not here, for He has risen
Come see the place He laid
Go tell Peter and the disciples
But do not be afraid

Peter and the disciple Jesus loved
Went to the tomb to see
But they found that it was empty
And wondered how this could be

Then recalling what Jesus told them
They knew they weren't deceived
Their eyes had now been opened
And both of them believed

So on this Easter morning
Like the one so long ago
May you “see” the Risen Savior
And then you too will know

The joy that comes from seeing
That the Son did rise indeed
And from the right hand of the Father
He'll supply our every need

And soon, He will be coming
For all the world to see
Yes, the King will be returning
Praise God, He's coming for me

A Great Morn's Show

As morn's sun cracks the horizon
Casting pink Easter dress
Redbud stands with newly acquired
Full green hair, I am blessed

The fireball sun floats on pink clouds
Like China doll surrounded
By full dress and stiff crinoline
God's beauty compounded

As the roosters steadily crow
Song birds sing very close
A new song I have just heard
Turkeys' gooble like ghost

The sun has changed from red to orange
Now it has become gold
God has choregraphed
For all a great morn's show

The Beauty of the Cross

The Beauty of the Cross The beauty of the Cross Is its saving power. When we’re touched by remorse, Mercy God does shower. Over every contrite heart, Wherever it may be, In jail or a palace, All because of Calvary. The beauty of the Cross Is not in its wood or nails, But in the one who gave his life; A precious love that never fails. It touches the soul that’s sinful And brings about regret. For any type of disobedience; In repentance God forgets. The Beauty of the Cross Is not in what is seen, But rather in what it represents; Life where death has been. A hope of eternity Long after the grave. All because Christ hung there— Everything he gave. The Beauty of the Cross Never wanes or loses its allure. For there’s no other answer; No other life-saving cure. Grace and mercy are its jewels; Peace and joy its crown; The beauty of the Cross Will forever be renown! © Copyright 2008-2012 Maureen LeFanue

Easter

Easter Easter is ever so beautiful. It was meant to be just so. For as our Lord Jesus rose to glory… The plants do follow in his fold. Springs beauty is likened to heaven… As it was promised in stories of old. And all the tender plants … Show our souls how to unfold. Growing toward the light, an ever present goal… Reminds us in life, what we should be searching for. Spring is like heaven brought down upon this earth To remind us of God’s promise in Jesus… Waiting in our hearts and souls For the Son's light and warmth to bring it forth.

An Empty Tomb

An Empty Tomb An Empty Tomb Gives us hope for the future An act of God Not a freak of nature When the stone was rolled away By angels unseen Christ stepped into the light From the darkness where He’d been. This Empty Tomb Reminds man of God’s love His sacrifice for us all From His Sanctuary above Each one has the hope Of life eternal Reconciliation with God At last will be factual. The hope of this world Hinges on this Empty Tomb For had Christ not risen We’d all have been doomed. But all heaven rejoiced On that Sunday morn, When the existence of sin Was finally scorned. Mohammed still lies Entombed in a grave Buddha too has not risen— Remains in the earth enclaved. Christ is the only one, Who rose to live again. Eternal life the victory— Changed in a moment then. So when you’re told, “He was only a prophet.” There’s no wisdom, Regarding the wedding banquet; No acknowledgment of a tomb— An Empty Tomb in Israel, Where evil was conquered, Because Christ did not fail! This Empty Tomb reminds us, We have hope for a future, When we heed Christ’s call For He is the only answer. FRIDAY BECOMES EASTER DAY

A wood of snowdrops in the dawn,
yellow daffodils light the morn,
the scent of new mown grass,
Spring,Spring,here at last;
Bare branches greening up ,in bud,
busy birds line nesting with mud,
clematis spreading fast,
Spring,Spring,here at last;
The honeysuckle,leafing green,
new arrivals,in hedgerows seen,
Spring,Spring is in the earth,
our thoughts turn to new birth.

As Friday becomes Easter day,
we then,with hallelujahs pray.

Easter Blessings

This Easter Morn dawns bright and clear,
With all the folks I hold most dear
Coming to spend.the blessed day.
The sun is with them on their way.
They accompany me to church that day
As is the ardent Christian way.
To listen to the Easter story.
We bow our heads, give him the glory.

The table’s set with all my best
Of china, silver, and the rest.
The food is simmering on the stove,
To be served up, garnished with love.
Some come from far some come from near,
But one by one they all appear.
We fill the dining table twice.
I need a hall, that would be nice.

The colored eggs have been hidden.
Eager children are forbidden
To sneak a peek around the yard.
Not looking though is mighty hard.
At last we say, "Get set, now go,"
To Vivian and Hannah Jo.
Making sure that every last child wins,
Daddy helps Vale and year old twins.

Some eggs are lying on the ground.
Others not easy to be found.
Auntie helps the smallest cousin.
Soon they find the whole five dozen.
With eggs enough for everyone,
There are no tears, but lots of fun.
They show their loot, with shining eyes,
Some eggs are filled with a surprise.

A little tiny cross they find,
To keep their Jesus in each mind,
To teach them all what Easter is.
The thanks and praises are all his.

Tradition

Boy, all I can say is one word, tradition.
It’s a mind set ingrained in our thoughts, and in our nation.
Although Christmas and Easter aren’t mentioned in the Holy Bible.
God has His traditions also, they are His Holy Festivals yet we continue to ignore them and trash our spiritual revival.

Today as so called holidays are in full swing, as Christians we pray.
That our nation realizes that our moral compass has lost God’s path in every way.
Man he’s always made excuses not wanting to listen to God he’s stubborn.
The devil is predominant in most people’s lives yet, he fails to listen to the Father, and His laws are easy but stern.

God says put no other God before me.
It’s not this writer speaking its God’s loving spirituality.
The Holy Bible is very clear about this.
Believing that the “Word” is the Son of God, Christ Jesus.

Christmas, Easter, are pagan holidays and it angers the Lord of Lords.
Remember all truths are in the Holy Bible see what Jesus says, He’s “The Word.”
Yes love and cheer is predominant this time of year.
Yet, “The Word” and what God says is very clear.

So on this coming Christmas pray that you see what the Father tells “Us”.
The evil one is still at large corrupting men, corrupting “The Word” our Savior Jesus.
God says in the Holy Bible let the Bible interpret God’s “Word” and to observe His Festivals.
Not those traditions set before man by the Evil Deceiver not just to love at yearly intervals.

The Holy Bible tells “Us” specifically that Jesus wasn’t born on this day.
Going back to the traditions of Babylon, see what the Bible says about this what we do and how we pray.
Just by not being in the Holy Bible these days should make “Us” truly see.
That God is God, His will be done, and by doing His laws and edicts wrong not observing His true Festivals corrupts our soul spiritually.

What Easter Means To Me

When I saw him upon the cross my heart and mind did ache.
How I could allow this to happen, I must do something, I thought.
An Angel came into my soul, saying he would be reborn.
Three days, then he will rise up into heaven, not to forsake.

Easter day will be remembered for the day he rose to be sought.
Angels will rejoice his rise into his father’s kingdom newly born.
Stories of healings, miracles performed; journeys he did make.
Telling of his sacrifice for all humankind, our salvation bought.
Evil finally destroyed as the earthly waters and mountains are torn.
Revelations tells of his ultimate glorious return, for our soul’s sake.

My soul embraced promises the Angels sang and continually taught.
Every hour, minute, I watched my heart sank into painful scorn.
Another Angel came to me, said do not falter his word, or break.
Never forget the love and companionship, all the happiness he brought.
Sincerity and remembrance is what our lord desires with blessings to adorn.

Take these words and sights to the future; tell them it was no mistake.
Our Lord in Heaven, Gods Son, will return; when final battle is fought.

My children are forgiven all sins; listen closely for the sound of Gabriel’s horn.
Every believer with true love, will live forever, there will be no way, for to fake.

The Last Hour of the Christ

I wear the crown of hatred
misunderstanding and despair upon my hair
upon my back a wooden cross I bare
I know not why I’m hated so
all the people seemed to love me just a week ago

my skin is cut from head to toe
from whips of leather by men who wish to see me die
I spoke the truth for all the people to understand
my words of truth where words to set man free
from degradation hate and hell to live in harmony
for the rest of history

I cured the sick and healed the blind
with the touch of my own hand
I’ve walked on water and walked on sand
to preach and bring my truth through out the land

people came from all around
and would sit for hours upon the ground
I once had twelve good men who followed me around
now there’s only eleven one man let me down

my words have been mistaken
my God he has forsaken
for that my life they’re taken
I believe that I have failed
as my hands and feet are nailed upon this wooden cross
as they raise me in the air
all their sins I know I must bare

I want to scream not fair not fair
I’m just a young man I only wanted to teach
there are so many more people that I wanted to reach
my age is only thirty three
I pray my God
that they the people will remember me

Easter Is A Special Time

Easter Is A Special Time Easter Is A Special Time; In the Northern hemisphere it’s Spring. A time when baby lambs are born, Yellow daffodils are king. In the Southern hemisphere it’s more like fall; Leaves turn to their Autumn colors; Winter lies just ahead; Just as our Creator orders. Regardless of the seasons, Easter is a time for us to rejoice. It’s the time Christ died and rose again; Of eternity, we were given choice. Christ’s resurrection hope is sure; God promised us redemption; He promised us through his Son, That we could all be forgiven. Although Sunday’s not God’s Sabbath, It’s a special time to celebrate, His love for one lost world; Christ’s resurrection to relate. It gives us hope of a future; Beyond the state of death; The hope of the Second Coming, When he calls to the dead, “Come forth!” Because Easter is a special time, Never let it pass by, Without rejoicing in God’s miracle; Christ’s resurrection upon which we rely. So celebrate this joyous Easter That your sins are forgiven; That God loves you so much, He gave you the hope of heaven. Copyright © 2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com

Song of the Troubadour

A troubadour came by my house;
Beneath my window he did sing.
I'd never heard such melody
Or listened to like lyrics ring.
He sang a song I understood,
A song of love for me alone;
And , gazing through the latticed frame,
I knew that I would be his own.

The haunting strains, they wound their way,
Even before I could resist,
My heart was bound by cords of love;
Forever to his song I'd list.
"I long to follow you." I cried,
"Fair, wand'ring minstrel, gay and free;
I want to be your gypsy bride
And sing sweet songs of love with thee."

He bade me follow with a look--
A look my tongue cannot describe--
So tender that my heart leaped up.
"I'll follow you! Oh, yes!" I cried.
T was then I saw, just as I turned
To go with love forevermore,
What I had thought a laurel wreath
Was but a crown of thorns he wore.

The robe which from his shoulders hung--
It had seemed spotless, white as snow;
But, then I saw it stained with blood.
Yet, still with him I longed to go.
His feet and hands were bruised and torn;
"Oh, who had wounded one so good!"
Just then I saw the lute he played
Was but a rugged cross of wood.

"Oh, Love!" I cried, "Dear, fairest one,
Who dared to harm and hurt you so!"
And then I heard the song again...
"It was for you; did you not know?"
"For me? I do not understand;
T was just today I heard your song."
He turned to speak what now I know.
"My love," he said, "I called you long."

We sing the song together now;
Each day is but a new refrain.
Yet, still I marvel when I hear
A note of joy wrung out of pain.
I did not know when first I heard
His music calling to my heart
That love is not triumphant
Till wounded, pierced and torn apart.

My Easter Prayer

~My Easter Prayer~ You came into this world A tiny baby A king who needed no crown Here to save all sinners A natural born leader You lead by example Lived what you preached You love all Never judge a soul Healing the sick Feeding the hungry Bringing peace and joy You never turn anyone away Watching over us Even to this day You are a good listener You guide us on our way In troubled times You are always there To carry us through Like “Foot Prints in the Sand” Sometimes we may stray Yet you are still there Ready to embrace us Loving us all the same When we ask for help You give us what we need It may not always be what we ask for And we may not always understand Yet it works out in the end You know me inside out I feel you with me No matter where I am I Love you so much I know I don’t say it enough In this life I have been blessed With many more blessings to come I know While at times I ask for so much I have forgotten to say two simple words That says so very much So here I am right now to say Thank You Lord With this My Easter Prayer Love Always, Jean Bonella

The Passion

The Passion They called it “The Passion”— His passion for lost souls; Crucified and murdered For so called religious goals. Christ’s passion for the hurting, Tempest-tossed soul; Sacrificed His earthly life; Man’s eternity His goal. Chorus The Passion and the cross Is a story to be told, Until this world ends And judgment unfolds. A carpenter turned preacher With no sword in hand Was led to His death By Judas’ evil band. Taken in the evening From Gethsemane’s garden; Hung from a cross That we may be pardoned. To be cruelly beaten Without human reason; Mocked and spat on In a prophetic season. Made to wearily carry His instrument of death; A heavy wooden cross; Laboring for breath. Crucified with wood and nails, The objects of His trade, Because He preached His Father’s love; His Passion was forbade. The Rose of the World

The Rose of the World went weeping
And many the tears the Rose shed;
They flowed like a river softly
On a world that was dry and dead.

The Rose of the World was heartsick;
The heart of the Rose broke and bled,
The mad world plaited a thorn crown
To cruelly pierce His fair head.

They crushed the Rose in its beauty,
And they nailed the Rose to a tree;
The Rose with His tears and His lifeblood
Emptied out His fragrance on me.

My God, How It Hurts

My God, How It Hurts

We have forgotten
How dangerous is this man
Refusing not to do miracles
Abjuring not to love
Going beyond His mother's pain
Beyond being a good son
To do the Father's will.

We have forgotten
The depth of evil
He allowed to drench Him
Bleed and bruise Him
Beyond all human endurance
Gleefully denying Him
For whom He was born to be.

We have forgotten
The love of the Father
So fully developed for us
He had to turn away
At that moment on the cruel cross
When God-given life
Was given up.

We have forgotten
How dangerous is this man
Whose love was more than life
This Son of God
Whose promise to us meant so much
That He shrugged off death
And He arose.

AN EASTER HYMNODY

We sing a song of Easter praise
in Hallelujahs raised,
of thankfulness for grace-filled days
with lifted hands,always.

We witness today,His good news
on a tree,slain for us,
rememberance of His stripes and pain
in that death,we live again.

A Comforter,for one and all
empowers,if we call,
close by,at hand,within us now
as,in worship,we bow.

Far and wide, these truths we forthtell
in our joyful hallel,
these songs of Easter praise now heard,
we tell the Gospel word.

Collectibles'

Some people of this world live for collectibles.
They go to yard sales, swap meets for treasure and memorables.
Some go just for the search the thrill of finding their prize.
Obtaining is the glory their dreams realized.

Oh What ecstasy' A inner victory they find themselves proud.
Friends colleagues families shout praises good and loud.
A triumph a testimony that the finding of things and what man can do.
All truly want to be nice at the beginning you knew.

Since early childhood children want to be accepted and loved.
So they admire parents, morals taught a gift from above.
In life we collect a lot for personnal reasons.
Some collect easter things holloween things and of course ornaments for X-mas seasons.

Anyway went to a swap meet a Holy one.
In a dream, carnaly alone, I searched for the spiritual kingdom.
I was surounded by counsels. Spiritual Angelic counsels.
Afraid? Oh yes I said,"Oh God what are the meaning of this vision?"

The thundering kind "Word" said, It's for your mision.
Your to trade give carnal man his due focus on the hungry children.
Bring your mision to the children, there is a true need.
Trust in your Lord Jesus you will surely suceed.

So I will swap the earthly collectables things.
Give them up trust the Holy Spirit and see the magnificent things God wil bring.

As God's harvest His colectables we will succed in that His loving Kingdom all the children wil behave.

Fish Eyed Wine

Fish Eyed Wine

Push and grind push and grind
take the day off for fish eyed wine
fish eyed wine
give me a mouth and perhaps in time
we'll all sit down together
for unleavend bread and fish eyed wine
push and grind push and grind
children today live lives blind
they have no time for fish eyed wine
still they take the time
to honor the architect
of our worlds demise
all but one or two
what shall I say to them all
for you my love for you

I am living in the promised land
where they say that Passover is for the Jews
they do not know the blood of the lamb
though many of them lay claim they do
Lord, it's funny how simple things
join and divide us from and to you
and many followed Moses out of Egypt
but today very very few
follow me and you out of Babylon
where Easter and Tamuz rule
in your name

prophecy is coming true
and we all know who is to blame
the antichrist sits on his thrown
playing his deadly games
he leads the children of God astray
from the kingdom of heaven at hand
they'll tell you that it's far away
but we could be building paradise
we should lay the corner stone today
think you'll go to heaven when you die
that's what I hear the liers say
let's build paradise while were alive
when we die it'll be to late

so place the blood of the lamb
on the door jamb of your heart
and to our Lord be true
come the death of this world born first
no harm will come to you
though you may well have to die once
for the fish eyed wine and his truth

Betwixt food and human relationship

It’s good to get together as friends and confreres
like in table fellowship or religious convocation
and then, enjoy the company of each other’s culture
as Italians, Colombians, Filipinos or Brazilians.

The day after Easter Sunday adds another occasion
for us Scalabrinians to be reunited at this point in time
sharing the gifts of food, life, humor and relationship
with a space for fraternity, some updates and good wishes.

Truly, it shows the spirit of oneness and fraternal fellowship
sharing the commonality of our commitmment to faith
as brothers in Christ and members of our Founder’s order,
the religious congregation that cares for migrant people.

There’s much to do and plan for what we aim to materialize
in today’s world where migration poses a huge issue
like a salad bowl with mozzarella, tomato and olive oil
a metaphor for migration that deals with human cultures.

Described in the Bible as a growing missionary virtue
hospitality as a key to open one’s heart in this journey
With fearlessness and confidence, it’s a major issue
depicting the picture of global movements raised in action.

Our days of darkness, our bickering confreres in places –
where community life matters and features one’s emptiness
in dealing with one another in our quest for human and divine.
it’s indeed a challenge and will always be a test of faith, thus far.

This helps us understand through our setbacks, pains and joys,
with friends around and those who share with us many times
those sacred stories of being called to worship God and be present
especially in the Eucharist that nourishes our souls to be whole.

Resurrection Sunday

Jesus died upon the cross.
His followers thought that all was lost.
But then Sunday morning came,
And the world would never be the same.

The tomb was empty, stone rolled away.
Christ conquered death and hell that day.
That's why we celebrate each year,
The resurrection of our Lord so dear.

Christ's death bought pardon for everyone,
All of our sin placed on God's own Son.
His rising made all things new,
Resurrection power for me and you.

Sing Hallelujah to the King!
Lift high your hands, let your praises ring,
To Christ the Holy Risen One.
Rejoice in what God's love has done!

A Glimpse of Promise

We welcome unexpected winter births
In this cold country: A new warmth
Delivered in our midst.

So far a-field we are, no home or hearth,
Our lives and this somehow entwined,
His investment in future's salvation
Safe within this small skin.

Awakened in darkness, eyes straining to
See the faces of the desperate, hopeless
Strangers aching for a glimpse of promise.

Sleep now, precious gift, and do not
Dream of tomorrow's tomorrow. Love's labor
Will stay the bitter Easter for this
Christmas child.

For a while.

Fiction

What beliefs within that do you define
the adversary's lies or Gods Truth divine
like a child absorbed what you've been taught
have you examined the things that are thought

In the stronghold of your heart and mind
the vast majority of information you will find
is designed to impair accurate thinking
because six thousand years of deceit are drinking

The Word of Truth is made for our correction
to tear down the the entanglements of defection
to expose corruption and self deception
the barriers and veil to the Father connection

People believe in angels but seem to forget
that the armies of Lucifer are still here yet
a deceiver and lies are his pathways
to deaden hearts where clouded thinking stays

Is the easter bunny a truth or lie
and when children grow up and do ask why
in the Truth of God they haven't believed
because like a fairy tale it is received

Just another story as it's understood
like the fables to show evil and good
that the outcome and end can't be serious
because they believe the Truth is mysterious

The paths of Truth lay within simplicity
and it's clarity does overcome lies duplicity
Gods Kingdoms children and such like ones
speak a single Truth not Babylon's tongues

Like the fiction of fairy tales lies reside
in religious doctrine whitewashed graves hide
by pomp and pageantry Jesus teaching denied
and the indoctrination of demons Gods Word belied

Fiction upon fiction are children fed
so like those tales Gods Truth made dead
why take it seriously when one is grown
all stories end happily in heaven is shown

What is important is what they get now
for death doesn't exist for eternal soul anyhow
Beliel and Satan and prophetic prediction
they can just chalk it up as another fiction

One cannot teach lies and be a spiritual Jew
by teaching of Jesus can only speak what is True
to be a Son of God with all lies must brake
for Holy Spirit must heart and mind remake

The Word of God should affect all reason
and clean out all thoughts that to God are treason
Jesus may have died to save all from sin
but that won't help if not reborn within

Behold I am coming quickly says He that is True
to cleanse the earth and make all things new
broad the path to destruction those chosen few
they have believed Gods Word and whats holy renew

The Saving Light of Calvary

The Saving Light of Calvary Stand not in the shadow of the cross But rather in its saving light. For the shadow portrays death; The light makes sinners right. There’s no sin so great His forgiveness cannot touch. He’s healed them all before, Because He loves so much. Stand not in the shadow of the cross For there it’s too hard to see Anything other than hardships; The world’s constant misery. The Saving Light of Calvary Lights up all the world! You have the choice today; The result of your choice to be unfurled. The Saving Light of Calvary Makes shadows a thing of the past. Look forward to the light For this old world won’t last. Joy and peace will attend your soul, When you stand in the Saving Light. Even if the future appears bleak, Christ will give you insight. For The Saving Light of Calvary, He suffered more than we can know. All he asks is that we surrender Our lives to him here below. Ravenous Wind

Resurrected tomb inspected but all that was left was a purple covenant torn and tattered
Next to this covenant of wet tears and blood was a letter evidently from his Mother Mary
This letter read: I am sorry, I could not die with you and I know you will see me when the time is right
in the dark when it is neither day nor night. I wrote this letter when you were a little boy to prepare for the worst because I love you so.
I hope when you rise you will realize my intentions were kind and true unto you and even the world to come, please see me before Revelations unveils your true majesty's will
On Easter Sunday a time between day and both night he rose out of sleep and read these words aloud that was laid on top of his heart.
As you know his mother gave him strength more miraculous than any superhero or muscular man,
and when he read his Mother's Will to him a breath of
ravenous wind blew into him from every direction, it was a wind so heavenly like all the angels were calling upon him in a naturist way.
After the wind filled him with everlasting life he sighed and said to God
I died for all sins on earth; men will fear me now more than back then.
He took his tattered robe and clenched onto the dice thrown at his cross.
He rolled them before exiting the tomb and both of them landed as 1 and 3 next to each other.
13 spiritual healing prayers thereafter Mary was visited by his son Jesus.
A ravenous wind stirred up again on New Year's Eve 11:47 13 minutes before 2013.
Who is Praying Now? Then the whole world looked up at the stars in awe and said "Holy Cow!"

The Gospel Truth

Welcome ye, who come to worship
And to recognize His Lordship
He spilled His blood for us to cleanse
And to provide our recompense
The futile grave gave up her dead
It was just as the prophets said
He arose when three days passed
Emmanuel had come at last
With grateful hearts we recall, thus
Now, Lord, please bless and forgive us

CHOICE

CHOICE

“Grandpa”, “ Will you go to church
with us tomorrow?” She sweetly asked.
“Oh, uh, me? Oh, no, I never go to church.”
“But it’s Easter Sunday”, she prompted.
“You know, I probably shouldn’t be
eating this much spaghetti. Pass me
some bread, will you?” He said.

How many Easter Sundays
Have passed by this man
It saddens me so
Not so much to have missed
An Easter Sunday at church
But to have missed out on
A lifetime of peace
Existing without God’s presence
To pass each day
Rejecting his love

My heart cries out for him
And for the many others
Who still remain blinded
By their own pride
Deceived by the evil one
But I refuse to give up
I will not end my prayers here
For as long as there is breath
I will pray
Hopeful, believing that
One day soon
He too will choose
To be free
But knowing that it is
His choice alone
Keeps me on my knees

Flying Free

Pastel Easter dresses on morn's sunrise
After a long cold windy spring night
But now the golden sun is shining bright
Giving promise of all day sunny skies

Baby pears adorn the Barlett pear tree
Blueberries hang on the Blueberry bush
Pale pink rose that on trellis grows has blush
Baby birds in lined snug nest waiting to fly free

Free as baby bird flying free what freedom
No more excess chores to occupy day
Just to sit close to Him to forever stay
Fly away freedom from pain nor more serfdom

Promise of beautiful day externally
Promise of free life eternally

Triumph At the Cross

Triumph At the Cross “ 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. ” Col 2:15 NIV Christ triumphed over Satan and his unholy alliance; made a public spectacle of evil in His sacrifice of compliance. Satan was stripped of his power; His authority lost forever. Christ in His obedience became our High Priest of favor. Although it seemed all was lost to His disciples and followers alike, Christ’s Triumph At the Cross began with each cruel strike. He was beaten for our healing; His blood spilt for our redemption— the Son of the Most High, made responsible for all creation. The Triumph At the Cross was not what it appeared. Failure to the world was victory veneered. On the resurrection morning, Christ’s victory was made known. Demons watching His body, in great fear of God had flown. Although Christ had been tempted, not once did He sin. His obedient life and His death ensured the Victor to win. Triumph At the Cross— rendered Satan a banished foe. To the powers of evil, this was a mighty blow! This poem is featured in my Easter Poems book Copyright © 2010-2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com

The Prince of Life Has Risen

The Prince of Life Has Risen The prince of darkness Had the Savior’s tomb sealed. One hundred guards stationed all about, But a great earthquake all revealed. A heavenly angel clothed with bright beams Of God’s glory illuminating his pathway. The guards shook with great fear; The hosts of darkness fled away. This angel moved the stone, As though it were a pebble. He called to Christ, “Son of God come forth.” The earth shook, lightening and thunder to assemble. Christ came forth from the grave With the tread of a conqueror; Brightness lit the end of the night; Roman guards fainted, each like a toy warrior. The Prince of Life Has Risen; An earthquake witnessed the moment. Over sin He triumphed And over every mortal torment. Satan thought he’d triumphed, As Christ lay asleep in His grave, But when He arose on Sunday morning, Satan knew this kingdom he couldn’t save. He knows he must finally die And that’s why Satan wants revenge. The destruction of as many as he can— God the Father to avenge. The Prince of Life Has Risen And will destroy Satan in the end. So choose not the darkness, But the glory that our Prince of Life does send. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2008-2012 Featured in Easter Poem’s Book published 2012 www.maureenlefanue.com

Easter Celebration

To all who believe..

Tomorrow we celebrate our Risen Lord
Lord of the universe, creator of all things seen and unseen
By whose word the world was made
There is nothing made that was not made by Him
He gives freely at no cost
For He is God
He does not need man
It is only out of His love for man
That we exist today and have free will
He is not a tyrant that demands
As Christ arose from death
Let us arise from our death
To live in this world but not be conformed to it
* ~*

A glorious and happy Easter to all who believe!

Spring

Winter, Spring,
Summer, Fall
Which one of these seasons
say it all?

It's all about the birds
It's all about the bees
It's all about the flowers
and all about the trees.

God made Spring
for many reasons.
Because of Spring
this is the season.....

We wake up to cool weather
on a beautiful Spring morning.
All of a sudden there's rain
it seems without any warning.

The flowers are beautiful
as they began to bloom.
The pollen fills the air
sometimes a little bit too soon.

The grass begins to grow
as Easter time draws near.
Look at all the clovers,
again only this time of year.

Many plant their gardens
for the freshest food to eat.
The garden tends to grow good food
whil the rain, soil and sun compete.

So see, things work hand in hand
and happen for a reason.
That's why Spring
ends up being a beautiful season !

Easter

Easter is a time we celebrate
many different things.
We also start to celebrate
the beginning of spring.

We celebrate the life and death
of Jesus on the Cross.
He gave his life for each of us
no matter what the cost.

Some celebrate the Easter Bunny
as the kid comes out in us.
We hide the eggs, buy the Easter candy
and usually make such a fuss.

Some families get together
and cook really big meals.
A time for family to be together
can be a really big deal.

No matter what reason
we celebrate the Easter season.
One word seems to link them together.
LOVE is the word that says it all.
Who could've said it any better.

For ‘tis the blood that covers My sin-marred life; Gives me hope of salvation; Overcomes all strife. The Power of His Blood Displays the Father's love. Can save lost souls; For redemption up above. This is the greatest power That in the universe exists; The only hope for this world, Where sin still persists. The Power of His Blood; From the gutter to the throne; Changes each heart; Prepares us for a crown. We all need a Savior To carry us through; Each heartache and trial; Become totally renewed. The Power of His Blood Is all that we need To raise us up for heaven, Like a plant from a seed. By His power we grow momentarily; More like Him each day, As long as we’re willing; Read our Bible and pray. Easter's Love

Happy Easter would you please come in
Said the man at the door with a big grin

I went there with my daughter; I felt so out of place
You see all my life all I had been was a damn disgrace

Then I learned of the act that was the world’s greatest loss
I couldn’t believe man had nailed the Son of God to the cross

The reason he stayed nailed to the cross was clear to see
He was held up on that cross by his love for you and me

As I slowly departed from inside of Church that day
I received a blessing and looked at life in a brand new way

Spring holiday fever

Daffodils bunch, spring has sprung,
Sun raises higher to waken sleepy heads;
No time for hibernation now as spring fever hits, -
create time to get together; go fly a kite,
or sit and chill, make daisy chains.

Let the sunshine bring warm sunny days.
In meadows baby lambs take their first steps;
whilst mad March hare hops and plays
with baby bunnies dotting the green fields
of the countryside.

A season where everything wants to bloom,
time to trim those lawns and weed again;
and all just in time before spring rains
will once more aid those thirsty
flowers and bulbs as they grow.

For it is now that gorgeous butterflies
flutter gracefully by giving nature a helping hand;
pollinating the kingdom while watching little chicks -
crack open their Easter eggs, just in time
to join in the madness of this happy holiday season.

Day-Three

The Easter Bunny is coming the kids shout with joy
He’s bringing us eggs filled with chocolate and toys
Before we can eat them we must hunt for them first
They’re hidden in bushes, in trees and in dirt

Our baskets are colorful our new shoes how pretty
A new tie for his suit and my dress is quite frilly
The egg hunt is today and right after church
My excitement is mounting and I might actually burst

Mom walks me to class and I kiss her goodbye
I sit in my chair and something catches my eye
There’s a large wooden cross at least ten feet tall
In the front of the room held up by the wall

The cross is empty my teacher started to say
It’s empty because it’s the third final day
What? Oh good grief! My head started to scream
Let’s just hunt eggs before they turn green

She talked about the cross and why Jesus had died
For you and for me and why we’re alive
Ok! Were my thoughts as I stared at my shoes
Oh yeah, by the way, did I tell you they’re new

She said this is the third day and we celebrate Jesus
He was dead and arose and is right here with us
He has holes in His hands, His feet, and His side
But despite all His pain, He’s whole and alive

Wait. I put thorns in His head and holes in His hands
I beat Him so badly He could hardly stand?
He hung on the cross and died in such pain
But He rose the third day so eternal life I would gain?

I thought to myself as I quietly hung my head
I painted my eggs while Jesus lay dead
Today is day three so yesterday was two
Jesus lay sleeping while I bought new shoes

I bought this cute dress all frilly and nice
While He hung on the cross paying my price
The egg hunt seemed small and insignificant now
My eyes filled with tears and on my knees I did bow

My dress doesn’t matter, my hair, nor my shoes
Jesus I’m sorry I forgot about you
I can’t thank you enough for your great sacrifice
I love you for dying and saving my life

You beat death and its grip and from the grave you arose
It’s not all about eggs, new shoes and nice clothes
I now understand all about the third day
You came back for me and you came back to stay

Despair Erased

The cloudy day omens a dreary week
As we count down to Easter, next Sunday.
After Lent message, we’re too sad to speak.
We’re seeing everything in shades of grey.

We gladly waved our palm leaves on the way,
Not knowing where His final steps would lead.
For evil sin, with his pure life he’ll pay.
We weep that our own actions bring the need.

At Easter Sunrise Services, the sky
Is brightened by a most rewarding sight.
The good news must have been the reason why
The clouds have dissipated in the night.

His love more than we ere dare envision.
Halleluiah, He is truly risen!

Easter Morning

The brilliant light from the mountain top
I feel the warmth fill my heart and soul
Softly. touching the small towns below
As eyes open wide accepting the warmth;
The light : cascades across the valley floor
People : to get a better look, open wide the door
The sun has risen this Beautiful Easter Morn
                          I Said
The SON has risen this Beautiful Easter Morn

True Easter

I can't believe how time does fly
Yes Easter has once more arrived.
Wonderful memories that we all have,
are at this time somehow revived.
An Easter basket, and dressing your best.
Hearing the story again.
What Jesus did,and how He was put to the test.
And how it was done for all men.
How He miraculously rose from the grave,
And went back to His Father above.
But never leaving us alone,
sending the Holy Spirit to us, in love.
It's amazing to hear this story ,
At this wonderful time of the year.
Keep telling the little ones gathering eggs.
Whisper it to them each time they are near.

Thinking about Tattoos

Lately, Everything makes me think of them,

kick-started by that episode LOST with Jack's Thai mistress
who has a knack for reading a person and branding them--
"he walks among us, but he is not one of us--"
on Jack's shoulder forever, a secret in another language.
and I wonder, does he lie about its meaning?
The only thing worse than lying about a tattoo,
is lying about a tattoo painted by someone
who sees right into you.

Then I wonder, if John or Simon Peter lived now
in this feel good age of defilement
would they have JOHN 3:16 across their bicep?
Is it okay to mess with a temple if it's words of love,
or words that mean love?

I saw a woman with "Jordan" inking the small of her back,
four summers ago now, and I still think of it
and how my first thought was-
"that'll suck if they break up and she has to explain
to her next boyfriend why she has some other guys
name across her back..."
followed by wonderment of the kind of faith she must have,
only to be dismissed: "probably a drunken decision,"
And I still think that.

Why is it so hard for me to believe that woman
loved Jordan, had enough faith and trust
to brand his name on her body?

Scars are the tattoos we don't choose,
and I have enough of them, thank you.
The skin stretching over my shins, knees, and elbows
could read a chronological account of all the sports I've played,
and all the stupid decisions I've made,
like that dare to careen down a 50 yard, steep dirt mound
and skid out at the bottom, where,
45 minutes and 2 bottles of peroxide later,
I was "victorious."

Different shapes, sizes, and colors- purple, pink, flesh, even white,
like a freakin human Easter egg.

Tattoos thrill and inspire me--
I live to love something enough to ink it on my body forever,
but for now, I'll settle with knowing i've lived enough
to garner at least a dozen scars.

Sitting At the Cross

Sitting At the Cross 18“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Cor 1:18 NIV I am sitting at the cross— Lord, how I see your pain. I am sitting at the cross— My eternal life to gain. I am sitting at the cross, Where you died to cover, All my sins and disobedience To still Satan’s fervor. I am sitting at the cross, As the earthquake shakes the ground, Darkness falls upon the earth, As death, for me, you found. The nails through your wrists, Were more painful than I can imagine. As I’m sitting at the cross I see a horrid scene for Zion. I am sitting at the cross, As the Sabbath day rolls on, I can hear both Mary’s weeping For what seems so very wrong. Your death was prophesied, Many, many years before, Yet few understood the opening Of immortality’s door. I am sitting at the cross, As you are lowered down To rest on the Sabbath; Rise to a kingly crown. They covered your naked body And took you to Joseph’s tomb. With the rich you were buried, But to life would rise again soon. You chose to show a sinful world, That death need not be final For those who sit at the cross; Comprehend Calvary’s jewel. Those who join me at the cross, Have hope of life eternal, Should they accept their Saviour And Calvary as personal. Easter in Your Way

What do you want the world to know about Easter Lord?
How do you want one to know more about you?
What is Easter Lord?
Is it when you died and raised from the dead?
And we are just like you
Because of what you did we can be the same
Being raised from the spiritual grave
What else do you want us to learn about this Lord?
That we can be a new person, the old one is gone
Old sins are forgiven –paid by you
What else Lord?
That one has to ask You in their life
And be their Savior
Then and only then it should be done
Okay Lord, I got it
You are my Savior
My Lord, I confess you as my Lord and Savior
Be with me Lord
Be in my life and guide me
Through twists and turns
I need you
I need you Lord
Be in my world
Forever and always
I love you
My Lord, my Being
My Forever and Faithful One
My One and Only One
My Everything and All Things
My Ever Now and Always
My Joy and Well Being
My Confidant, My Friend
My Father, My All-Consuming One

Time Stood Still

The innocent Lamb was sacrificed
Shouldering such an onerous load
In his earthbound body dwelling here
Sent from His Father’s throne
As the sands of time in the hourglass
His life slipped slowly away
Grace, peace and harmony
He had brought to this earth
His life was the price He paid

The earth shook with the tragedy
The sun refused to shine
His pain on the cross was constant
The sins He covered were mine
We call it Good Friday, now
The day that He died
Death could not keep Him
So Easter has been set aside
As the day He did arise

BRIGHT DRESSES AND SHARP SUITS

Most women on Easter Sunday
Morning wear festive and elegant
Bonnets to match their bright
Dresses; men wear lighter, sharp
Suits with cheery feeling, not the
Usual dark ones that are so
Depressing and their neckties must be
Perfect! Coming out of the church in
Throngs, they seem brides and grooms
Again...chatting and smiling at one
Another, knowing that He was,
Risen and gone to Heaven to
Prepare a place for them and their
Children...shouldn't they rejoice
Today? And sitting at an exquisite
Table they say Grace, while Easter
Eggs and bunnies tempt them with their
Lively colors and sweet smell! Even the
Dogs and cats hide underneath the table for
An unforgettable, delicious dessert!

"HAPPY EASTER HOLIDAY!!!"

Happy Easter Holiday
To everyone I must say
For all our sins on that cross he lay
And for this we can't never repay
To know that Jesus love is just that great
He's always on time and never late
We just have to be patient and wait
I'm so glad that he came back
And keeps us focus and on track
Then on that Easter holiday
He arose and made everything okay.

Celebrating the Easter Season

His love is as glistening as the morning dew
On the red rose

His love for us deeply flows
And forever grows

His breath is soft
As a gentle spring breeze

His voice you can hear in the rustle of the trees
To Him We should bow our heads and fall to our knees

Because He lives
We too shall live

On Ash Wednesday

As many Catholics make a trip to church
on this particular day which marks the beginning –
Lent, in its threshold of another liturgical event,
they wear that smudge on their foreheads.

This calls everyone to a conversion journey
it means turning to all who suffer in their lives;
fasting and praying and giving alms to the poor,
form the essence of what Lent really means.
A particular discipline especially in prayer
provides a continuum in God’s focusing;
it’s something that shapes us from within
a constant encounter with His divine presence.

Sackcloth and ashes are signs of repentance,
like those incidents with some prophets
such as Isaiah , Daniel , Joel , Jonah , or Judith
in their quest for a life worthy of God’s grace.

It’s a season of renewal as baptized Christians,
a reminder of our nature as mortal ones,
our identity that embraces to come to a fuller life
in the life of Christ who gifts us his love.

Described as a community of sinners,
with its strong need of repentance and understanding,
this event of Ash Wednesday that leads us to pray –
in our journey of conversion and transfiguration;
brings us to new life and closeness to Easter celebration.

Why I Put Pen To Paper (A Poet's Prayer)

Some of my poems may bring a tear to your eye
And some of them may make you cry
But that is why I write
To help family and friends get through the night
And to keep them company
Until the first rays of the daylight

Some of my poems are funny
But isn't that better than the ones that make your nose runny?!
However--I don't have any about the Easter Bunny...

Most of my poems are about The Man who died on Calvary
Who bled and died upon the tree
So we can live with Him in Heaven for all Eternity

But regardless--have a nice Resurrection Day!
That is all I have to say to you today
'Cept for I hope one day with your company--
I hope to have a payday...Hey what can I say?!

Anyway--that is why I put pen to paper
To tell everyone about My Lord and Saviour

Nighty Night Night--before you go to sleep tonight
Why don't you get on your knees to pray?
Now rest your weary head and go to bed
Turn off the light...
And sweet dreams--'fore you know it--
It will be daylight!

-WE CELEBRATE EASTER-

Once again, the banner is lifted;
of the cross: one time for all men.
The sacrifice of God's spotless Lamb
will never have to be rendered again.

Who is this Jesus whom some proclaimed King
and worthy of the hearts of all men ?
Is this the One named Lord over all
and to Him every knee shall one day bend ?

Who would have thought from such humble beginnings
the fulfillment of God's plan would come forth ?
And now He has captured our hearts through the ages,
reaching from east to west and the south to the north.

In truth, every day is a celebration
of the Lord's Christ being raised from the dead.
But from that time to this, we celebrate Easter-
or of this triumph, have you not read ?

He is worthy, True Lord of our Hearts;
He who knows your beginning from your end.
So at this special time of the year,
join with us as we celebrate Easter again.

Douglas L. Ace

Father and Son

As I stand atop purple mountain majesties,
And watch the sun set across thy mighty seas.
I feel your gentle breeze upon my face,
And realize your magnitude as I pursue this awesome race.

You created all wonders and beauties that we behold,
Your words are infinite and timeless never changing, never growing old.
Your love abounds in times when there is none,
The sacrifice You gave to us, Your only Son.

To teach Your way, He came and left too quick,
With His hand of love, He touched and healed the sick.
Then betrayal by a friend would lead to the worlds saddest day,
As they beat and abused You to that hill so far away.

A crown of thorns they placed upon Your precious head,
A sign nailed to the cross “King of Jews” was what it read.
Then the ringing hammer nailed to the cross, Your hands and then Your feet,
And they raised the cross and people watched as Your blood dropped to the ground so pure
and sweet.

You took on our sins that very day,
Like a sacrificial lamb, this was the only way.
This was God’s way of showing to us a thing called love,
And a chance for us to reunite with our Heavenly Father in His kingdom up above.

So let this Easter hold a special meaning,
Think of Jesus and how the spilling of His blood to this day is still so cleansing.
And let His resurrection be a guide for our own rebirth,
To live virtuously in His name as we traverse this earth.

A briefing of Pentecost

Fifty days after Easter Sunday
Mother Mary and the twelve apostles
Gathered together for a feast with bottles of wine
They celebrated a Jewish festival at this time

This was the fifteenth day, they say
Of Passover
It was proclaimed that a rush of wind
Filled the house there they all hushed

And a fire about their tongues resting over each head and descended;
this promise that was sent from God through the prophet Joel
to all that attended

Then through the streets went the apostles
To preach to all the crowds that came for the festival
Not only the apostles preached for good will
but by miracle native languages were spoken
Then on came Peter who was outspoken

He spoke of Jesus and his decent,
that all people to be forgiven and repent for their sins
About three thousand people of all colored skins
Were baptized this day

Easter Sundry

Easter Sundry
Easter Sundry

  Easter Sundry
For the 16 0f april Easter Sunday

Ties and coats, dresses and hats,
oh brother, where does he think
he is going like that, dirty and
homeless carrying his stuff.
Does he not knoe it is Easter?
We are all gussied up, our money
in hand, ready to preen and to
prance.Where did he think he was going?
To Church like that, all dirty and poor?
Not next to me and my family.
We are the members of our community.
We are Ties and coats, dresses and hats.
We are ready for Easter.
Homeless is not to be seen.
Homeless is not to be found.
We do not want the old homeless around.
Does he not knoe it is Easter.

Easter

When bird song rumored dawn, I climbed a hill,
A hill I've climbed before, again, again.
I came to learn a song so glad and still
It only sounds at dawn, just when...Just when.

I climb because He said the shadow lifts
Like mist is burned from silver mirror lakes,
Then new reflection on the surface drifts
As all below the surface breaks. It breaks.

A breeze strummed grass, and gold announced the dawn.
The common graces seemed to chant the start
Of day; yet only this day breaks upon
The symphonies inside your heart. Your heart.

Among the miracles that Easter gives
Are songs of Always. Listen now. He lives!

Isaiah 42:10

Doing His Will

He died for us on Calvary’s Hill
Fulfilling His Father’s will,
But this was not the whole of his part
To turn to the Father all man’s heart.
It all began with his birth in a cave
But did not end with the life that he gave.
He taught by the life that he had led
Even by the multitudes that He fed.
He rose again on the third day.
The price of death He did pay.
He taught us then and teaches us now
To love each other and to serve how?
With all our heart, strength and mind.
In serving others joy we’ll find.
This Easter season let us do our part
To show we’ve taken His lessons to heart.
Praise Him in word and in deed and in act
And let no one ever forget the fact.
He lived for us and lives for us still
So let us be about doing His will.

Happy Easter Day!

Keep spreading God's Word and His Love
Given freely to all that ask from The Son Above
For He came to save you and me
And those who believe He will set free
So to Him just bend your knee
For you know He died on The Tree at Calvary
Well that's all I have to say today
Have a nice Easter Day!!!

Easter

Can you see the change? Can you feel it?
There’s something new in the fresh air.
Everything seems to be strange a bit.
It’s time when I can’t be in despair.

Nature wakes up with first greenery,
Longer days bring more hopes and sunbeams.
I appreciate this bright, spring scenery
And this time with new chances and dreams…

Good Friday talks about the painful story,
And allows finding a sense of that suffering.
This world learned of the greatest mystery.
I’m looking for the truth and I’m asking,

But Easter Sunday gives a replay
To everything and beyond all doubt.
I am looking at the Cross and pray,
And hold back a silent, painful shout.

And I feel this invisible power
Of the Easter time and of the Cross:
“I am not alone thanks to my Savior.”
And I’m quiet and peaceful – no chaos…

Have You Heard

I was sitting on my front porch early one Sunday morn,
listening to the music nature plays; when I noticed an old
man walking slowly, talking to someone I could not see.
He noticed I was starring as he came closer to me,
then he stopped and smiled so sweet.
"Have you heard what they did to my Savior, so long
ago in a town so far away?"
They nailed Him to a cross, and let Him die, but He ask
that forgiveness be given to them, from His Father in
Heaven so high.
"Have you heard He arose one Easter Morning, and His
Spirit could be seen only by those who believe?"
"I came to tell you He is right here walking with me, and
He sees everything going on in our world today."
"One day soon, all His children will take a journey, to His
Kingdom in the sky, " and you know, I'm ready anytime He
comes for me," and then he wiped the tears from his eyes."
"Have you heard He offers Salvation," do you believe you
just saw me?"
"Have you heard about our Savior?"
"Have you read the headlines today?"
"Do you know Him, and will He know you, on
our Judgement Day?"
