What evil lurks in tiny minds
To do despicable acts
I wish we could predict with signs
And stop them in their tracks
Some think the world is now insane
There's more of "Them" than "Us"
But listen to this thoughtful claim
Jump off the hopeless bus
As long as we have Heroes near
Who risk their Lives and run
There isn't much we need to fear
No setting of the sun
In or out of uniform
Working or just watching
First Responders as their Norm
Arrive to do the helping
For never fear the evil deeds
We all must go on living
For good will always plant the seeds
Of Heroes Forever Giving

Dedicated to those First Responders in Boston, New York, Madrid, London and Elsewhere. We salute you.
I am Reality’s angel
resting on the broad shoulders of discovery
the truth feeds darkness and engulfs its target
ideas and concepts in turn become meaningless to you
there is a creator of all things
He is just and patient
many still have fallen into the masses of shadow
wrapped in their own filthy idols of philosophy
I have seen grown men fall like rose petals
and weaklings rise into unjust leaders
forever the follower of furtive evil
dominating only to remain inferior
the most important answers lie in the unseen regions
where no sense can fully give assurance
the mind that so many unreasonably twist and turn
grows weary because of the distance it must take
and truth be told the distance is not what frustrates
it is knowing we are seeking something far
that could very possibly not exist,
that our minds can twist into theoretical, idealistic nonsense
it is knowing all we really think we know
and yes—even a lie
all that has been written thus far rests under my wings
under the warmth in which you refuse to feel
can you believe in me—
though I am completely unseen?
how much more difficult would it be to see
My life has been one enormous charade,
A make believe game,
A play I have played,
A story I tell myself, day and night,
Hidden from myself, out of sight,
A game of hide and seek,
While searching for something else to eat.
A cosmic game,
A comic game,
A bad joke,
A puff of smoke,
A lonely path,
I used to take it so seriously,
Think it, feel it so real, so perfectly,
So certain I that was right,
That I lived in the light,
So convinced that I knew the rules,
So obvious I had all the tools,
That I saw the truth,
That I saw the light,
Would win the battle, win the fight.
Heard the sound of the distant drum,
Calling me to battle with the devious one.
The walls of my ego were high and mighty,
My dreams and delusions danced in front of me,
Their smooth dark surface impossible to climb,
Images I swallowed and thought were mine.
I made them alive, moving and real,
Twist and turn like a slimy eel,
Just to tell myself that I was still someone,
Playing in the game and having lots of fun,
Just to tell me and to tell you,
That I wasn't a loser,
So I wouldn’t hear the words game over.
Check and mate,
Here's the gate,
You have to take,
Out of the Game,
The game of shame.
The game of avoiding being blue,
Of dogging the bullets they shot at you,
The atomic bomb they drop on your head,
The monsters that they put under your bed.
The game of hiding away,
Live to play another day,
Even if it's only make believe,
The prizes in plastic,
And not worth a dime,
At least I have the impression that they are mine,
At least I don't fell the pain,
The pain of shame,
In this perverted game.
So that I don't feel I'm a prisoner,
Tied to this post,
Don't even realise that I'm only a ghost,
That the truth is well hidden,
On the board of the game.
That the prizes are in plastic,
But they are shiny and new,
The paint hardly chipped,
The emptiness hardly shows through,
The laughing is loud,
The smiles are all warm and friendly,
And we are all together,
Joyful and happy.
The illusion is REAL,
And only the mad man knows,
That it's a rotten deal.

In the mountains near the land of Nord
Their lived a fiery Dragon
He had such hot and fearsome breath
Yet he kept his tail a dragging
Because he knew he wasn't bad
He was shy and that was all
And if he looked too meek and mild
Then folk would treat him cruel.
He met this little lad from Kelt
One day whilst coasting round
With fire belching from his mouth
And roaring fearsome sounds
The little lad was terrified
When he saw this thunder brute
And the dragon he was hurt indeed
As this fear he did intuit.
He said "I'm sorry little boy
But I'd not do you harm
I rasp and roar like this you know
So folk will leave me calm
I really want to be your friend
It's so lonely being me
Then the two they walked off arm in arm
It was beautiful to see.

For Carol Eastmans contest 'Children's Fable
Analysis read—and wronged—and pulled
Lulled into our idealistic mess
Words no longer ours but hung distress
Farced in carnality—they are ruled
Soundness remains what we will believe
And all else is but tethered nonsense
Clinched tightly in unfriendly absence
Overcome in overwrought relief
The judges judge on behalf of tongue
When ears and eyes close achingly tight
And perhaps in woe we find them right
For witches sought and bound must be hung!
Lower than the softened dirt that cures
Where worms in halves blindly come to eat
The higher crush with tormented feat
And the suns scorch what is left of hers
Answers never tried—and cured to hide
They look to superior sources
The rotten are the strongest forces
Ripened and toughened with bequeathed pride

The eye,a sign the
unwise can't comprehend
Forged from the world's
illumination in darkened
enlightened ones like
Leonardo da Vinci,Isaac
The eye is a tree
with many branches like
Priory of Scion,Knight
in all corners of earth.
The world is clothed
through wisdom from
The eye,all seeing
emblem of power and
riches to the lion hearted
and loyal souls.
A seat of influence and
Creating the social order
through men of power....
Some see it as a
curse,others a blessing.
I feel it,the great eye is
The silent sound of a falling tree
The oil that chokes the dying sea.
They push our planet to its ruin.
These foolish powers, what are they doing?
A tree it falls, to a sorry end.
My mystic tree, my dearest friend.
Oh how I loathe the things they do
They’re taking life from me, and you.
As men get rich with worthless things
Through the damage that greed does bring.
They spill their slime each place they go
As in their wake destruction grows.
With seas a dying, choked of life
As grey green slime be causing strife.
Sea creatures cry and scream with fear
As the planet dies but greed won’t hear.
The ozone layer be growing sick
As populations grow so thick.
The green folk try to combat greed
But their advice those powers don’t heed.
This thing weighs heavy in the air.
The tower crumbles but they don’t care.
This Planet dies I love so well
As mankind paves, its way to hell.

I'm not the greatest of all-times, but when I'm done,
I'll be an all time great in this lifetime of mine
Like the late great who came before my time
I will breed a new lifeline, that will breathe life like march of dimes
My story lines, will bring truth life; like troops who fight
Overseas, for rights of those who believe that death is life
Now that ain't right!
As the rich is getting richer, eating fillet me-non, while we barely feeding our appetite
Night after night
Survival has waged a war that gave us no choice but to battle and fight
Although, we'll be all right
They say we a dying breed, but that ain't right
Instead we're the light to a lying greed
That will enlighten life to a brand new seed
A man of God indeed
Freed from the Son that bleeds
Like the summer breeze
He's the sum that equals the amount of air I breathe
The air that please
A satisfaction like the birds and the bees
My word's words are the keys
That will fornicate with the mind and give birth to a seed
A seed of social change, that'll change our social economy
So shall our comradery
That will bring comfort to a struggling society
A synonym...similar to a civilization seeking for unity
Unifying the physics of theory
That seeks to explain the synopsis of a dying philosophy
Similar to the Cosby
X-cept my scrip-tic will speak more about our reality
Like life's calamity
And everything else in life that's destroying us systematically
However, I've discovered a system
That can mathematically destroy ignorancy
And turn our state of mind intellectually
I elect that He (God) selects me to be
And be that man who may lead this community
So that they (My Peoples) may commute with me
En-route to a destination, destine towards our destiny
Like we were destine to be
We were meant to be "Great" like the late great that came before we.
Because we are...
The reflection where perfection gave birth to the definition of greatness
Where great means Competent, Skilled, Well Informed, and Tremendous
Our potentials are endless
And only we not even the enemy can put an end to this
So it's time we put a stop to this
The biggest enemy of self
And that's envy and jelousness
Cause after this is Heaven or Hell and that's all there is
A promised made sealed with a kiss
Is the next best thing since "In the beginning"
In the first chapter of the first verse in Genesis!
Walking threw the mist of the night,
on the path that lead deep into the forest, in absence of sound;
from one whom was bought, no body shell be found,
of those who might be lost, homeward bound,
as we raven through this hollow ground.
Cross sentences that are incomplete, fractions that make you weak,
threw words that you learned so well, life is a living hell,
don't front and pull back, end of line, number check,
in the story and on track, blank page,
A Very Inviting Temptation!
I remember of a particular situation.
I was offered a very "inviting" temptation.
The situation I was in... I didn't belong!
And lost any sense of "right and wrong."
At first... I felt no guilt or shame.
And brought embarrassment
to my family's name.
I tried to explain this to my wife and kids.
I heard; "Dad... please... no more fibs!"
The Godly principles were "tossed to the side,"
As the sin inside caused arrogance and pride.
Soon, all in my life that truly mattered...
Was gone! My life was empty and shattered!
I was sorry for all of the problems I caused!
This time... I took a moment to pause.
I cried to God to rescue me from my sin.
I confessed! Would God help me once again?
I read in the Bible of Jesus’ grace and love!
This time the help I needed had to come from above!
I asked him for a fresh and brand new start.
He removed the stain from a broken heart.
He restored to me the joy I once had.
I'm so blessed! Jesus has made me glad!
Jesus is the reason I'm here today!
I LOVE HIM more than words can say!

The Emperor and the holy man
Once, a long, long time ago
There lived an Emperor
He had conquered half the world
He couldn’t be worshipped more
And everyone within his realm
They done what he did say
For each knew that to disobey him
Could mean his dying day.
One day this Emperor did decide
To sail to India
He’d heard about those holy men
And the tales in him did stir
A lot of curiosity
He decided he would go
And find one, then bring him back home
He had a need to know.
Romanda was a holy man
He’s deeds were legendary
He never wore no clothes at all
And everyone could see
That he was someone very special
Many had seen his power
And they knew that time with him
Could bring one’s soul to flower
The Emperor sent some men to find
That holy man, did he
He told them bring that Guru back
Deliver him to me
So off they went to do his will
But Romando he refused
He said your man must come to me
Those soldiers were confused!
The Emperor, he was upset
He found that holy man
He offered him jewels and, and money too
And he did not understand
When our hero turned him down again
He drew his sword on him
It didn’t look good for the holy man
That Emperor looked grim!
Romanda told the Emperor
“My friend, chop off my head
If this is what you’re bound to do
But you won’t kill me dead
I left this body years ago
You cannot kill what’s not
Oh, you may kill this shell I’m in
But that’s not worth a lot.
He said ‘why do you conquer
Don’t you know, it’s a disease?
When you have conquered everything
Will you then be at ease
Put your sword away, my friend
Don’t be so childish now
Know you a man who says he’s great
He really has no power”.
The Emperor was beaten by
A naked, unarmed man
The great man? Stood there foolishly
He did not understand
How this man was unafraid
He’d never glanced within
Great Emperors, they only know
The mind and all its din.

Is It God We Trust? Or Leave In the Dust?
As our courts remove God from this great nation.
We are left with a confused and lost generation!
As God is taken away from our public schools.
A huge tide of immorality is what “rules.”
The Bible is often mocked and discarded.
It was on it’s principles this country was started!
Just about anything of God seems to get scorned.
So many “rush” to worship many ungodly forms.
As God’s name is often tossed and thrown out.
We tend to forget what HE is all about!
Too often, his plans for living are tossed and abused.
No wonder, there’s many who are lost and confused!
As people forget God and worship the fallen creature.
They look to themselves and “glorify” their features.
Many ignore God, and get involved in deep addictions.
And with this, come disease,
heartache and afflictions!
As God looks and sees this nation “bleeding.”
It’s his righteousness, that we need to be seeking!
If we would humble ourselves, he would hear our prayer!
He loves all of us! And he really does care!
Won’t you come to HIM, And invite him in?
Won’t you allow him to be your master and friend?
He brings strength and nourishment to the soul!
It’s only in him that we can be made whole!

Just When It Seems Like Life Is Overwhelming!
Just when it seems like I’ve faced
my darkest night…
And things in life,
aren’t turning out right…
This is about the time, when things
are falling apart!
And I began to feel a lot of stress in my heart!
I run to Jesus! I know that he wants to help me!
He’s always here! And promises to never leave me!
He sees me, and speaks words
of comfort, to follow!
He reminds me, that he’ll take care
of today and tomorrow!
He lets me know that he won’t let go of my hand!
Everything I’m going through…
He turns back all of the problems that are overwhelming!
And I see what things my life, are becoming!
I have fellowship with Jesus! Like I never had before!
He’s given to me peace and hope! And much more!
I’m glad I have such a wonderful
friend like this!
His love and joy… I don’t want to miss!
Thank you Jesus! For turning my life around!
And for plating my life on a solid ground!
You’re all I want! And all that I’ve needed!
With you as my Lord! My life has been completed!

I tried to write about love but I haven’t felt it.
I tried to write about the sea but I’ve never seen it.
Then I tried to write about the air, but I have never breathed it.
I tried to write about magic but I never believed it.
I couldn’t write about god, all I have ever done is sinned.
And when I tried to write about life I found,
I have never really lived.
We’re Just Sinful Human Beings!
All of us are just sinful human beings!
Scripture says; “the heart is sinful above everything!”
Even if we try to hide and wash our sins away…
Wickedness in our heart, is there, each day!
God made Adam and Eve, with perfection!
But sin crept in, like a deep and wicked infection!
He put them in the Garden of Eden with a choice.
It was up to them to listen to his voice.
They had all they could want, with one instruction.
Disobeying this, would lead to their destruction.
Satan took the form of a snake to tempt their mind.
And their disobedience affected all of mankind!
Since that time, mankind has needed atonement!
Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse you! This very moment!
Only his blood can wash away sin’s dark stain!
It can only be found when one calls on Jesus’ name!
We’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory!
But wait! This doesn’t have to be the end of the story!
God and all of his angels in heaven, are waiting for YOU!
The love and blood of Jesus,
can make you BRAND NEW!
His love, for our sins, is what he offers in exchange!
You can be forgiven! And forever totally changed!
This opportunity is for you, to reach out and take!
Won’t you do it now? For eternity’s sake???

Nine solid months unto her womb is he,
breathing and heartbeat they do as one.
Carrying him safely, his husband sees,
providing food and money his daily home run
'til the day his son pleas to be out in the sun.
(always then his aim is to be a good guy)
Though it will take a long long time, his son--
sinless eyes, no smiles, when the children cry...
His son grew then unto the world he spree
where he is exposed to gases, bombs and gun.
Along the streets, he and others learn a key--
that learning curve adhere but some remains undone.
Shoulders bruised, torn, from bearing a tonne,
some lost souls wander, their life gone awry--
falling short to wonder later how it all began,
sinless eyes, no smiles, when the children cry...
Can later bestow some better decree,
outlasting evil by following a model-- a nun?
On returning to God by following thee,
from this day, forward, man shall never shun
to battles that last even 'til midnight sun.
Answers possessed on the strings of whys
and never again to ask for a hired gun.
Sinless eyes, no smiles, when the children cry...
Darkness is beaten, light has won!
Wisdom now reached, cocooning the guy,
a new day now welcomes another son
sinless eyes, no smiles, when the children cry...

Children with an illness,
Go through life,
They are looked down apon,
Because they are different,
When really they are not,
They are no different from you and me,
They have the same blood,
Running through their bodies,
Just as their hearts as well,
So, don't just look apon,
Their outer appearance,
And judge them,
For who they really are,
For a lot of them,
Are smarter and brighter,
Than you and I,
Could possibly be,
On our brightest day,
For they have the gifts,
From God up above,
So, always take the time,
To get to know their inner beauty,
For who they really are,
Cause they too need love,
Just as everyone else does,
If not even more.
I lay sleeping with eyes wide open,
I lay sleeping with dreams that have no meaning,
I lay sleeping with nothing to dream about.
I lay sleeping with no care and sleep with eyes blind,
I lay sleeping, there with my eyes wide open.
Seeing the dark change from dark to black.
There is no moon, there is no sky
just purple strokes of paint in the sky.
Take that morning dew smell and close your blind eyes.
Smell the morning, that smell that clicks in your mind.
The smell of childhood dreams,
that as an adult never came true.
Sleeping bare in the nude with your eyes wide open.
Thinking of her, as she is five thousand miles away from you.
Wanting to love and hold her, but no use in crying.
Sleeping their with blind eyes in the dark that dances in the light.
Your lamplight turned down low,
as life trickeles down in its nightgown and yawns for sweet slumber.
Tired from longs days, and sometimes long nights,
wanting to curel in bed and close its blind eyes.
Dusk will soon peek its head through the blinds
and awake life to a new dawn.
She sleeps in the morning, and walks at night.
When he sleeps at night, and walks with a bare nude heart in the morning.
Life climbs over yellow mountains,
and meets her fellow compainion
a handsome fellow with broud shoulders and blessed with an ego
as I sleep there with my eyes wide open.
As I sleep with my eyes blind to what life has intented for me,
and as I raise to walk the lone streets at the break of the dew covered lawn
at the first sweet smells of dawn,
I can see life go on with the handsome man
and I blind and wanting to go to bed.
I dream of dreams that have no meaning
Gardens of cluelessness and raging emotions
tare me down and I am confused on which way to go.
Do I stay here and dream away, blind and half awake
as life slaps me across my broad cheek?
Or shall I walk on with life hand and hand
and regain my vision of the world,
Start to sleep with dreams that make sense
and dreams that are made of gold and have no end?
Dream of fancy dreams that show love and happy endings
I would love that, and I would love to walk with life,
but she is out of my leauge.
And my bed is so cozy and I feel like sleeping.
So I shall sleep on more restless night chashing life down.
I lay sleeping with my eyes wide open.
I lay sleeping with dreams that have no meaning.
I lay sleeping waiting for life to come back from the mountains
and lay beside me.
I lay sleeping with hope of regaining hope and salvage
what is left of my spirit at hand.
The old black Demon's back again
He's pounding on my soul
He's prodding, always prodding me
This be his earthly role
The hordes of Hell move into me
With their whips and masks of steel
Invading me they rip my flesh
And break into my will.
I look into this Demons eyes
Though my body quavers some
As fear be powerful in my mind
I know what must be done
Oh no I will not falter
For now be courage time
That coward that resides in me
He be my cursed crime.
He turns his back, the bounder's gone
I've beat his hide again
If you look your demons in the eye
Their manner grows more tame.
But he'll be back on some tomorrow
He's the strongest force I know
He's my shadow and he's telling me
To move into the flow.
Socrares Dec 31 2003.
The stones slipped through the great fingertips of God
Each ligure staked its existence on the four corners of the universe
The quadrivial region began to spin and pull into a sphere
And pathways revealed their footholds
The fourth ligure bravely landed in the midst of history
So that one day the future settlement of the second
Would be moved by the last—by the past
Suffering much it stayed
Manifesting in incandescent words
Thrusting evanescence upon the weak
Selfless, it's sorrow would move the merriest
Would move the unmovable
The third lies in the profound valley of mystical guardians
Star-recruited, they are the very light above the canvas of gray
They embrace the stone—are inspired by the stone
The very reflection of their creator was evident
Upon their unremitting glimmers
Unafraid to stare the others down
Motivated and construed by the glower of death
Eyes move fixedly beyond the simple vast
The second ligure rested upon the shoulders of invisible martyrs
The hopeful power it planted on the sufferers was unbelievable
For spectators used their disbelief to cover their ever-placed envy
They never were part of the battle—they merely watched
Always seeing truth
But they never quite absorbed
Like a rock hitting the water
The inevitable fate was to fly and sink
The first of the ligures settled in the very reservoir of Satan himself
Even the very heart of the devil is marked
Though rebellion embarked
The cold stone landed upon his naked bosom
He despaired not to the pericopal truth the gods had bestowed upon him
He merely despised it
But wished not to lose it
For such a stone to fall upon that dark corner—he felt pride for the gracious wound
In truth, there are twelve ligures of stone
And four were dispersed, dropped into the universe
The last eight the great Eternal wears upon his breastplate
And only He can re-move these ligures

hello my friend, stranger walk by,
borrow a moment, spare me your lie,
through pen of the narrow and mist of an eye,
below absolute zero, someone will die;
sentence to rambler, apple hereby,
flute of the meadow, mandrake will cry,
in front of the riddler second might try,
get out of here mortal,
exit near by-e.
angry as he strike out his pen,
get out of here demon, get out of this den,
in thousands of years how long has it been,
when scriptures wear sandals;
on meadow you land, many bear seasons,
stakes shall bend, lantern still burning,
your letter is send.
God knows why we really need him!
He has put the enemy beneath him!
He knows that without him, we shall fail!
We’re like the blind following life’s trail!
He also knows, that his son bled and died…
That day on the cross, he was crucified!
He knows that his son arose from the dead!
He’s alive now! And is our daily bread!
Do you know how much God loves you?
How much he wants fellowship with you?
Do you even think about for just one moment..
Of Christ’ love? And his blood’s atonement?
He did all of this with one purpose in mind.
To offer his salvation to all of mankind!
No matter what you may say,
or think of him…
It’s all of us, that need him!
Won’t you join with me,
before God, in prayer?
Wherever we are…
He’s already there!
Won’t you join with me, and receive him in?
To cleanse us, and take away our sin?
Won’t you begin today? And feel his power?
You can be a new person! This very hour!

It's time to turn this around
the answers I have finally found
The minute I looked into your eyes
I immediately remembered, how to be alive
If I didnt go through, all those years of pain
my life wouldn't be the same
Your birth, nothing less than magical, complete power of God's love....
For you shone through complete demonic darkness
ever since, I have been more than blessed
you re-opened my heart
So I could again, play the part
I've been given a second chance
This time round, I wont forget to dance
to love, open and freely
Its finally great to again be me
I've turned my frown upside down
And it's from God's gift, when pure innocence was born
my sixth child, a blessed tiny little girl
I extol your virtues.
I lean back,exulting at
your innovation and
A dream come true-I
I salute your inventive
Paragon of excellence.
An out-let for display of
emotions and feelings in
housing the enlightened
Your ship of knowledge
ferry talents from
obscurity to lime-light.
Giving preference to no
race or gender.
I salute you sunlight of
A safe haven for
bringing imaginations to
Kudos! I pray:
The spread of night
shall not over-shadow.
I Knew Someone Who Was Ready to “End It All!”
I knew of someone who just wanted “to end it.”
Giving up on life, and did not want to “defend it.”
It was a heart wrenching and difficult situation.
He said what he wanted to, with no explanation!
I could see his face and the sad look in his eyes!
What he was going to do next, was anyone’s surprise.
He turned to drugs and encountered addictions.
With this brought much disease and afflictions!
He gave up on the wonderful family that was given.
And turned to a pretty wild and crazy way of livin’!
I told him about a God who loves him very deeply.
As he listened, he began to grow restless and weary.
I reached for his hand and began to pray for God’s power!
It was a miracle! The blood of Jesus changed him that hour!
The spirit of God brought healing and hope to his body!
He was so excited! He rushed out to tell everybody!
The “end” that he wanted, seemed to just fade away!
For the son of the living God, changed him this day!
The glory of God, and the power of Jesus’ resurrection…
Changed him! And got him going in a NEW direction!
He’s so thankful for the blood of Christ’ atonement!
And is a different person now, because of that moment!
This same Jesus loves and can do the same for YOU!
Through the problems of life…
He will see you through!

Hoss, Hell Ain't Full Yet!
Dark deeds done in dead of night
Eventually, all come to the Light
Watch your step, hedge your bet
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!
Set your excuses completely aside
Evil takes you on a deadly ride
Think, grab all that you can get
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!
Badly mistreat an innocent child
Think, such is nothing but mild
Hoss, that desert just ain't wet
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!
Force a woman to give when she won't
Think, you skate but Hoss, you don't
You'll face a judge you have not met
Careful , Hell ain't full yet!
Steal from others to satisfy greed
Destroy all around like a nasty weed
Think, you get by, your life all set
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!
You murder, take any innocent life
Spread misery, evil seeds of strife
Think, no damn time for any regret
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!
If you murder, steal, lie or rape
Think, a path exists for your escape
A fool's errand , a darkened mindset
Careful, Hell ain't full yet!

Keeping the silence there is no spoken word
Liberated from the body,
I feel no burden anymore
I Must be lived therefore
Living the eternity, fooled by the myth of life
Now it's the ultimate time to define the wrong from the right
All will get the wage of what they did
The virtuous, the wicked, eventually apart
lets get back to where it starts..
Imitating the roles in a so called play
To participate, being cheap is the way to stay
A few say no, the rest obey
Puppets, animals, evils.. all set ready to play
Opening scene is predicting the finale
The plot is not impaired, it's just an alley
Lust, greed, envy..that's behind the curtain
All racing toward the uncertain
Affected by the misfortune and absence of the righteous
Selling became the profession, with this kind of ware there's no recession
Choosing lies instead of truth, masked faces over truly who they are
And drifting away too far
Drowning in seas of oblivion
awakening seems to be right at the shore, for whom got the sail
And persist on passing the trail.
The gentle Ogre.
There once was an Ogre,
who lived in a cave
He was not aggressive
He wasn’t real brave
He’d sit and write poems
Or play his guitar
But everyone knew
That he went to far
For Ogre’s are angry
And Ogres are cruel
And it was well known
The top Ogre rule
You catch em you eats em
That’s just how it is
And they saw our weak Ogre
And they didn’t like this
But he didn’t care,
He thought they were fools
And though they did treat him
So awfully cruel
He stuck to his rights
Like he always did
He had his opinions
Which he never kept hid.
But little folk loved him
Adored him, did they
Whenever they saw him
It would make their day
They all did bow down to
his sweet gentle power
Because in his heart was
A beautiful flower.
One day they did ask him
To live with him there
They treated him tender
And gave him such care
They gave him a throne
And made him their king
That sweet gentle Ogre
Was gave everything.

This is a collaboration I had been working on with a friend a while back. We might change the title. Her name is Rebecca Larkin. She started the poem with the first line and from there we switched back and forth. Wrote it at the beginning of the year sometime; forgot to date it, oops! Anyway, enjoy!
Like dust in the wind, we are doomed to repeat ourselves
Mingling past with present, we collect on the grimy shelves
Of past’s hard keep, falling on repeat
We gain from the pain and strange bittersweet
Taking in the reality-split dreams
The etching pangs of truth bursting at the seams
With every glistening drop of clarity
We engorge on the reliefs of now—a rarity
Thoughts pool in a sludge of black, gleaming like oiled silk
Denials spread like fires; saturated, we bilk
Pain and tragedy strike their resonating, dissonant chords
A darkness and sadness we can only desperately afford
Pain. . .strife. . .repetitious like a swinging pendulum
Achingly perfected rhythms gainst the beating death drum
Slivers of silvery hope shine through darkened clouds
Only to be covered again in menacing, smoky shrouds
Faith is left dying in a pit of despair
As the rest of emotion looms helpless in the air. . .
Nothing seems fulfilling anymore
The replay button fools my mind and cuts me to the core
Round and round it goes again like the jagged tick of a clock
Striving for purpose—screaming for love to find the lock
But only silence escapes, beneath the skin torn lips- nothing remains
The aftermath of quietude aches, scraping against endless pains
hope falls away into a deplorable state; waiting—hoping—for resurrection
And the painful power of truth is forced to gaze at its reflection
Questioning whatever has happened to faith and belief?
And why are the cliffs of sorrow so steep?
Like settling dust we merge our present with the past
Leaving the future on the shelf—too empty—too vast
Squandering the sand of time with nothing left, nothing left
The Preaching of the Gospel Is An Offense!
Scripture says the preaching of the gospel,
is an offense to the lost.
Christ’ followers should share HIS news! No matter the cost!
It seems like many in church are walking in a spirit of fear.
Many would just rather live a life that’s “happy and secure.”
“Why tell others of God’s salvation?” This may offend!
Why, it may even cost them to lose one of their “friends!”
Many don’t know enough of God’s word to share to another.
They have a hard enough time loving
their sister or brother!
God help us! For the many who
Who claim to be Christ’ believers!
Many have listened to the lies of the great deceiver!
Rather than being the person to preach the gospel this hour…
Many don’t seek the Lord’s wisdom,
strength or power!
Ball games seem to have replaced a need for prayer…
Why witness to the lost? Is there anyone who cares?
It’s no wonder why we live in a confused generation.
As many families don’t have Jesus as their foundation!
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best news around!
It needs to be spread to every city, village and town!
May we all be stirred to preach the good news today!
And be stirred with the words that Christ has to say!
Whosoever will, come and drink of the life he gives!
And live by HIS gospel! Each day that we live!

Sinking in deeper,
No way to escape,
The dark and scary Reaper,
Fore told in the Book of Life.
Is this my end?
Will I ever see the light of day again?
No. My wounds, I must mend.
I must find my strength.
Stand my ground,
Face my fears.
Only then will my voice be found
I must survive.
Break the suffocating chains,
Run from the darkness.
Power will fill my veins.
I will Fight!
Fight the painful names,
The horrid memories,
The demented games
And escape My Black Abyss.
Here comes that familiar breeze again
Emptied of hope, it always returns to refill
Some other abandoned soul
A soul that delves deep into my own,
Drifting in an almost shameful stance
Festered ignorance, time, and thought
Resting under the wing of frightened hope
It is cool, like any ordinary breeze
It pleases all that feel it, save I
For I know it longs to take all that I have
In one…single… swoosh
You overlooked demon! Why are you so gentle?
Why must you manifest in sorrow and woe?
Sleeping in the convent of my soul
As others praise you and thank you
You take me under tow
Forever more, lost in this sicklied growth
With a silent tune of rests within notes
I remain where the breath is taken
I remain your host
The breeze grows painstakingly warm
Filling all with passions unfolding
Each soul finds its home
Leaving me alone with a soul untold
Always awake and crawling… and screaming
Bold, all-knowing and thoughtless
Wingless, tainted…filled with dread
It is warm and hated by all that behold it
And I grasp it, and hate it, and LOVE IT
For it takes nothing and gives me all
In multitudinous shrouds
Beloved angel—why do you burn me so…
Leading me into your sick embraces
As others curse to your face
You forever release in me
A despairing freedom that I know longer wish for
The melody caught—no room to breathe
Harmony caked with ignorance does seethe
For all no longer see…
I was always the caller
hands rub against plucked grain heads
