Cowboys and Indians

He pulls his hat down low against the chill of the storm,
The numb fingers that hold the reins forgot what it was like to be warm;

On a grassy knoll silhouetted against the rising sun,
     Astride his pinto pony sits a Native American son;

The blowing snow and freezing rain steal his breath away,
But he knows that being a cowboy, it’s worth the price that you pay;

A majestic, bronzed brave, feathers wafting in the breeze,
With arms uplifted in obeisance, the Great Spirit to appease!

A worn out calf is stretched across his lap on either side,
Her head resting on his thigh just going along for the ride;

He offers thanks to Him for the grandeur of creation,
     And for the sun and moon from which he gathers inspiration;

Her momma just like him had been caught out in the gale,
It’s just another story to add to the cowboy’s tale;

He asks the Great Spirit to bless his arrow and bow,
     That with true aim he can fell life-sustaining buffalo;

His face is hard and beaten from too many days in the sun,
From early mornings and late nights workin’ til a job is done;

A tear rolls down his cheek thinking of his ravaged, sacred land,
     The broken treaties and those who dealt with deceitful hand;

But being a working cowboy surely has its rewards,
Riding forgotten country that has never been explored.

With a sad heart he lowers his arms and slowly turns away,
Determined that from the paths of his fathers he will not stray.

THE GILPY GIRL IN OUR SOIREE

The wren hour drool within that
very day, When we were taken
on a forage trip, Beyond the
karfanchan dangling viaduct, In
our own vertigo, And was coll by
the alien sun of a day,
We passed-by, As enamor was
with her, Many was about, I
choose aftermath, As for aeon of
a time, Yes it was such a
wonderful voyeur, Had wish it
lingers us far too off, I puff
vrouw through my wife beak
nose, Their ears, eyes stand-out
like Coco-yam leaf, whilst her
frescata inhold my once
beholden self , Some whisker
pups prance across My vrouw,
Wanton in their
Omnishamblings, like a dumb
duck, Meanwhile like sorts of the
sky high, Behind their mounting
shack, And her scamps out
wrung the furthest spot, As we
bore off a bit pointing yet, Felt
we are on the hoof side.

MYSTIC COWGIRL

She came from out of nowhere
Her hair flowing in the breeze
Wearing a cowboy hat and boots
With denim skirt above her knees

Her steed that she rode upon
Was as white as white could be
How magnificent they looked
Both such a sight to see.

She rode up along side of me
Dismounted with such ease.
Long legs made her skirt rise up
My God, she was a tease.

Her blouse was made of satin
Undone three buttons down.
Her breasts were free and unrestrained
And tanned to a golden brown.

She said "Howdy handsome stranger,
I've been watching you for awhile,
Is it true you're a tarnished cowboy?"
She asked, with a playful smile.

I said "Yes, I'm a little tarnished,
But I can make your dreams come true.
Is that why you came riding by?
Did I cast a spell on you?"

"Oh yes, I do believe your magic
You can cast a mystic spell
I can see you're slightly tarnished.
How much more is there to tell?"

I put my arm around her neck
Our boots fell into a rhythmic stroll
My hand was hanging loose and close
To free buttons and her soul

She smiled as I spoke to her
Said "Do you really want to know?
How I got a little tarnished
Might not be a place to go."

She gazed into my eyes of blue
There was a little hint of doubt.
My mind started wondering
What was she really all about?

She said, "Listen blue eyed cowboy
I want you to talk to me
Show me what you want and need
I will do my best to please."

We spread a blanket on the ground
And together we did lay
Campfire was burning warm and bright
We made love, till the break of day

When I awoke my pretty cowgirl
Was nowhere to be seen
Was she just an apparition?
Was she just a mystic dream?

Her cowboy hat and denim skirt
Lay rumpled on the ground
I picked them up and held them
But she was nowhere to be found

Guess I will keep on dreaming
As I Hope for another chance
To lay 'long side my Mystic Cowgirl
And do another mystic lover's dance

Brahma Dark

Death rides a pale horse, it is often quoted
to resurrecting bitter memories it is devoted
But the killer of dreams is Brahma dark
and with a twist of its head, hits its mark

I’ve ridden the memories until I’ve about lost count
Sometimes I wonder which of us is actually keeping score
and I’d gladly welcome that pale mount
just to dare to dream once more

A Teardrop Away

I hear a hawk cry to its mate
Takes me back before "too late"
Lonesome lyric desert wind
Sings me into your arms again

How I wish that it could be
not just a dream but flesh & blood reality
Gone but not forgotten, you will always be
just a teardrop away in my fondest memory

The whisper of the wind brings you back again
to dance among the shadows of my heart
Thunder echoing down the hills
I hear your voice so close it chills

Lightening dances cross the sky
recalls the laughter in your eyes
Suddenly we're once again
Dizzy dancing in the rain

Gone but not forgotten, you will always be
just a teardrop away in my fondest memory
The whisper of the wind brings you back again
to dance among the shadows of my heart

Gone so swiftly without goodbyes
but I know true love never dies
As I kneel at this headstone
I know I will never walk alone

For you'll always live within my heart
guiding me from the deepest part
Gone but not forgotten, you will always be
just a teardrop away in my fondest memory

The whisper of the wind brings you back again
to dance among the shadows of my heart

THE MONEY FOR HER DIAMOND

     In the heat of July,
While bringing in the hay,
He gave her a baling wire ring,
And this is what he had to say...

     “Someday I’ll put a diamond,
Here on your hand.
A diamond pure and perfect,
As sure as I’m your man.

     But, you know, a diamond,
It won’t ever shine,
As long or as bright,
As this love of yours and mine.”

So they saved for her diamond,
By putting little bits away,
Money for the diamond,
He would buy for her one day.

But the money for her diamond,
Fixed the tractor and bought a plow,
And in the dead of winter,
Paid the vet. bill for the cow.

     The money for her diamond,
Put the water to the barn,
And paid the increased taxes,
The county levied on the farm.

     The money for her diamond,
Paid the doctor in town,
And when their daughters were all grown,
It bought the wedding gowns.

It paid for the new roof,
When the big wind came through.
Then it it paid off the mortgage,
Before it was due.

     The money for her diamond,
Was always well spent,
She never even asked him,
Just where the money went.

     The money for her diamond,
Helped them to survive,
The money for her diamond,
Kept their hopes and dreams alive.

    Today it’s been sixty-three years,
And the diamond is on her hand.
But, as usual, in her pocket,
Lies her original wedding band.

     A twist of baling wire,
Bent and covered up in rust,
A symbol of the greatest of loves,
His Promise and Her Trust.

who am i and what gives me the right to compare myself to unique? what specify
gives tyciala the ability to read and write her own poetry. who gave this "YOUNGE"
girl this hustler outlook about everybody and everything. in addition somebody
please tell me why tyciala keeps call en her self ms.dre but only on certain
thangs ,and pieces. and then she thinks that she own the world. i think that her
words are blunt and she has been through to much. her hair, her smile, her
personality has both harmony and humor. the most of us want. but most of all
when i try and get to know her i can't get through to her. her heart has walls as tall
as China great wall. and the strongest , and smartens, couldn't know a chip off
her walls.all because i am afraid to fall.so who am i and what gives me the right
to compare myself to the most unique and best? because my pride wouldn't let
me rest if i wanted to do anything else.

How ????

As I herd cattle in 104 heat,
just to get food to eat...

Rememberin' what it was to be rich,
then all taken by the witch...

A woman so very evil,
like a fat bollwevil...

To let lies eat away lives,
as if to stab by knives...

It's really just not fair,
that she does not love or care...

About my little boys & girl,
& their poor broken world...

GOD knows about my plite,
only He can make it right...

Just want my kids to care,
about the sacrafices I made there...

I LOVE them & swear,
that in My heart I am always near !!!

For My Kids, LOVE DAD PRV

Cowboy

So strong and self assured
He rides alone always wanting more
Never satisfied with what's between those fences
His spirit will wake up your wildest senses

By the cross and thorns that is emblazoned on his arm
His substance runs deeper than his cowboy charm
A tame Christian man with a spirit wild
A man of God, he is your child

His reckless nature will never subside
Yet humble he still has his foolish pride
His heart is bigger than the tallest mountain high
And you feel weak when you look into his eyes

His hands so rough yet so soft to touch
For him no ride is ever too much
He welcomes the mystery that comes in the night
A lover at heart born ready to fight

The complexity of this cowboy man
Every woman dreams with him she would stand
Alone, looking at the midnight moon
In her dreams, she whispers...sometime soon

Buffalo Dance

Rough, Untamed
Rush the draw
Primal energy
Passionate, Raw

	Painted face
	Feathered lance
	So begins
	The Buffalo Dance

Race the Thunder
Over the hill
Take the world
By sheer will

	Free and Wild
	Without care
	Fearless screams
	Split the air

Call it Destiny
Call it Chance
Drums beat out
The Buffalo Dance

	Rise and Fall
	The Liar’s Moon
	Death and Existence
	Come too soon

Earth is made
Of Give and Take
Past and Future
Are at stake

	Lightning strikes
	Evil askance
	Spirits of Fire
	Join the Buffalo Dance

Caution tossed
To the Wind
Now is the place
To begin

	Turn the herd
	Lead the pack
	Valiant hearts
	Blaze new tracks

Dreams are real
This is no trance
Life lived Full
Is the Buffalo Dance

Boulder Ridge

The moon is full above the canyon
   listen to the call...
The music of the river
   echoes between the walls.

A love song for the brave
   who boldly choose to walk,
The path of their true destiny
as the drums begin to talk.

The boulder on the ridge
   catches and holds the light,
Providing a mystic place
   for passion in the night.

Hearts beating to the cadence
   of the drums far below,
Sharing souls and secrets
   only the moon will know.

Breathe deep the magic moment,
It is here by more than chance,
Come out of the half shadows,
   Listen...Live...and Dance.

Breathing Magic

She sees him still
  at the river,
kneeling to drink
  and get cool.
She hears his voice
  in the murmur
as it empties into the stillness
  of the pool.

She remembers the smell
 of cedar,
of sweetgrass,
  and sage smoke.
And always she hears
  the medicine
in the truth-words
  that he spoke.

On lonely days
  she holds him close;
wonders silently
  where he’s been.
His love is hers
  as long as she sits,
forever breathing
  his magic in.

Drums

At the bottom of the canyon,
Where flows the river Salt,
On the rocks, by the water,
Where drums, time, did halt.
Stood the Tsa la gi maiden,
In water up to her hips,
	Drawing strength from it’s coldness,
Touching it’s spirit with her lips.
He had not intended to see her,
But, he could not look away,
He watched her drying on the stone,
Tilting her head back to pray.
How one she was, with the earth,
	Absorbing it’s ultimate power,
Hearing the rhythm of the drums,
	Feeling them, hour, after hour.
At last, she turned to look at him,
And into his gaze did smile,
He knew that she belonged to him,
If only for a little while.
	I cannot tell the story,
	Of why she went away,
It was something beyond her control,
	Until this very day.
When once again their paths did cross,
For their dreams had been other lives,
Their hearts dancing in the Center,
Where real love always survives.
So, once more they stand together,
The sound of water, time does halt,
Speaking the names that make them live again,
While hearing the drums along the Salt...
