~Moon & Sea~
Hey boy won't you open that door?
Let's sing and walk by the shore
Come and spread out your eyes
Block looking for reasons, and whys?
The cosmos are more than a space to explore
Don't hide when I need.... Plus more.
Finish playing a master in disguise!
Lets find the perfect sunrise, sunset surprise.
Put your arms around me
Allow your moon to reflect off my sea
Too much time has passed you by
Come outside with and view the horizon up high
I've got my eyes set upon you
There's no need to feel blue
Hey boy comes, climb up this tree!
I'm going to show you all the things you can't touch, you can't see.
Lets fit the luxury and beauty of this world into our play.
Don't say them words that will set me free to walk away.
Take this kiss and see how it feel deep within your heart.
Close your eyes in my garden, and draw with the fragrance of art
I want to take you into that space, astronomy love.
Making it easy to float with the clouds way up above.
Glide away from the blame of gravity and self destruct.
Bounce of the dust of hurt when you fall and get cut.
Boy, let's hold in this perfect air together.
Leave the cold end of someone else's weather.
Follow me beyond the distance of chemistry.
I will expose your moon and explain the physics of my sea.
Give it another chance and you will see!
Your moon, is skin deep, needing water from me.
Turn on the tune in your heart, and listen to me.
In every sunrise, the moon entwines with the sea.
Thea, grandfather Alferd's dog died, she was so old and sick
Now is Thea on the moon, says Adrian who is six
Michael Jackson died so unexpectedly and abruptly
He is on the moon and plays with Thea, says Adrian who is a big fan
Betzy, grandfather Arild's dog died, she was also old and sick
Now Betzy is also on the moon with Thea and Michael Jackson and play all day
Great Grandmother died so unexpectedly and abruptly
Adrian who is six had difficulty understanding
Adrian who is six cried many tears for Great Grandmother
but comforted himself with the fact that she is sitting on the moon and
makes waffles to Thea, Michael Jackson and Betzy.
A-L Andresen :) - A true story -
She seduced my soul when I saw her dressed in her ethereal evening gown
As I was sitting under the stars gazing at her without making a single sound
It was that mesmerizing nightfall when my lone heart was filled with delight
As I watched her celestial figure sliding across the heavens sharing her light
Since then a happy prisoner of her incomparable beauty I incessantly remain
Forever praying the moment to come for to find myself in her magic domain!

*NOT FOR CONTEST
We hold hands walking under the bright beam of God’s Moon Light,
And stop and kiss so intently in the soft cradle of the dark Moon Night.
The passion and rapture together we feel so on this cold black night,
Is reflected and majestically warmed by the touch of the Moon Light.
I look lovingly into your eyes on this quite special dark Moon Night,
Marveling at the love so reflected in your eyes by the Moon Light.
This is an enchanted sight to behold by All who love the Moon Light,
Reflecting the beauty and meaning while savoring all the Moon Night.
A deep Cosmic Blackness pervades the canvas of this great Moon Night,
While God’s grace and love pleasure us with a most bright Moon Light.
Almighty God in Heaven gently modulates the tone of this Moon Light,
Bringing constant wonder and glory to All on this most dark Moon Night.
My love and I now understand the mystical meaning of this Moon Light,
As we ponder and hold so special God’s emotion felt on this Moon Night.

Long ago on this land we were all one
There was unity between man, earth, moon and sun
Man hunted and fished with love for the land
He had respect for his kingdom and all at hand
The white man came in numbers strong
Destroying what had been there so long
Hunting man and animal with such brute force
Mercilessly, ruthlessly, with no remorse
In the name of progress many died
The wolf and the bear and the eagle cried
When the smoke had cleared and the battle done
The earth and man were no longer one
They tell us they take for human need
But the truth be told, 'twas for human greed
It will take centuries to undo what's done
To restore our unity with earth, moon and sun.
as a child the crescent moon would visit me at my bedroom window
his face lit up by his captivating smile we would talk hours in a row
i would skateboard on his crest for quite a time in the lull of the night
in the refreshing glow of the suns residue and on the full of his light
then always with a wink we would say our goodbyes
then always a slow vanish before the sun rise
The crimson moon bawls on his flight
Doleful to be condemned to night
His samba partner teems with life
Yet he hangs listless filled with strife
Whilst craters pock his dusty face
Her smooth profile glows soft with grace
Waves splash coyly along her skin
As parching drought afflicts the twin
Halo membranes caress her soul
While he claims little to extol
He’s locked away from that embrace
Like a buckle upon her waist
Sequestered on his lofty perch
He ponders how to end his lurch
He tries to shake his mantle free
So he can float with meek debris
Just as he starts to drift away
He hears whispers begin to play
Prayers hailing romance twist his ear
Until he melts away from fear
Maybe those folks below can see
Just how lonely the moon can be
Words purify to help him heal
His love for her shall make him real
Physics of the moon
I feel the lunar ecstasy in your heart
Connecting our vibes from over 1500 miles apart
With every swing of my mood ring, my sensational heart will sing
An out of this world phenomenon tune, "you are my everything!"
Absorbing every phase the moon goes threw
Sending energy between me and you
When our eyes meet on the darkest side of the moon
Your body mass rotates like a cyclone hitting my land like a typhoon
Like the gravity that bonds the earth and moon together
Our souls will collide with a massive force of forever
The image of you appears at all times like a moon cycle
Like a cascade running all around my mind, like a halo circle
Our love and vision orbits through every star
Giving us light no matter how near or far
The stars throb around the moon like a secret signal in the night
While you inhale my energy that exceeds into the morning light
Like a rainbow that enters and vanishes into the twilight of our sky
Our first kiss under the moon beam will twist our tongues into a tie
A sweet magnetic shadow will remain under the half moon
Sweeping our love above the clouds to float like a balloon
Holding a reflection with the moon's tide
Our journey continued, side by side
Emerging our love to find its way soon
Like a love mirage with the physics of the moon
Nature’s Single Dad’s
THE LEAFY SEA DRAGON
Gracefully swaying without need for speed
Are creatures of beauty, disguised as seaweed.
Up to twelve inches long from tail to snout
These delicate creatures just drift about.
They carry, as they move like galleons in sail,
Silk-like appendages, leafy and pale
On back spines, projecting as masts on a ship
Sailing the oceans, they rise and they dip,
To the rhythm of moon tides; full or neap,
They travel the seas; these Dragons of the Deep.
Through weed-covered reefs and meadows of sea grass
There’s neither a neigh nor a moo as they pass.
They resemble sea horses in flowing silk gowns
Drifting on rhythms, dancing up and then down.
They slow dance through the water just moving around
No fire, no flames from these dragons; not a sound.
The mother will lay two hundred eggs on Dad’s patch
Of soft sponge, where safely they’ll hatch.
The sun flashes golden as she drifts on by,
While in the shadow on his tail, his offspring lie.
This single Dad of the deep tends a new generation,
Of Leafy Sea Dragon eggs; a fascinating creation.
Less than one inch when first hatched from the eggs
As newly formed babies; ready for life without legs.
They drift as if they feed, gaining the silky covered bone
To a length of twelve inches by the time they’re full grown.
The cycles of the moon dictate the rhythms and motion
Of this Leafy Sea Dragon in the great Southern Ocean.
The Leafy Sea Dragon is just one of Natures' Single Dads worthy of a mention for the survival of the species.
I wrote my words of love upon the moon last night
Tiny black words on an orb that shone full and bright
In my heart I felt you reading my love letter
The joy I felt could not have been any better
And as the moon absorbed the words I wrote to you
I suddenly realized you were watching too
So quickly the response came that it touched my soul
A sign that the Goddess of Love was on patrol
What I sent to you, you kindly sent back to me
It was as if the heavens had heard my sad plea
From now on wherever your heart tells you to go
I’ll write upon the moon and you will always know
The love we share will endure to the end of time
Messages from the moon will carry love in rhyme

Love was as hot as a red moon.
Passion was on fire and was soothed.
A total lunar eclipse occurred on April 15.
The moon was coopery red.
The warmth of her blood was astrologically aligned.
Mother Earth was with her Sun God.
She stood majestically in his eyes.
The core of his being was a deep arousal of desire.

Mysterious orb of silvery light
please shine down on me tonight.
Fill me with your wondrous light
whisper to me your secrets this night.
Do not seek the cover of clouds
I need your light with all its shrouds.
Paint the world with glorious light rays
and light up all the deeply hidden bays.
Moon, oh dear moon blessed you be
always light up the right way for me.
< Goodnight moon
Only God knows if I'll see you soon
As I stand under this canopy of stars
It looks as if you're riddled with scars
From your illuminating harvest glows
To those frosted faces from a winters toll
You even play your peek a boo
With clouds that shuffle by you
Don't you know I love you so
So please stay and don't you let go
You're my guiding light
My shining armor through-out the night
The crickets are even playing our love song
So let's dance all night long
For I know the sun will be rising soon
And we'll start hearing yodel calls from a loons tune
Well goodnight moon
You've slipped away all to soon
It's been fun
Dam ! now here comes the sun
Harvest Moon Contest
I turned around and saw a knight
Riding a white horse in the bright moonlight
I accidentally erased this sorry....
A tea cup moon hangs in the sky
Among diamonds glistening in the eye
A shooting star to wish upon
Falling to a world somewhere beyond
Gentle breezes dancing across water
Reflecting moonbeams one after the other
Crickets chirping, bullfrogs singing
In the distance people laughing
Alone on a sandy beach to reflect
Those important things I too often neglect
I'll fill that tea cup moon up with other wishes
And stay here till sunrise releases her golden kisses
The lone tree exists out in a large field
Alone it hides itself truly concealed
The moon shines down upon it bright and true
The tree became everything that it knew
Clouds cover the moon creating darkness
Leaving all things obscure and quite useless
Moon appears back to illumine the tree
The light appears brilliant so you can see
The tree absorbs all the moonlight right there
To become a mighty tree that does care
Tree knows it will be the show of the land
For the light of the moon made it quite grand
Shadows play 'neath the sleepy sky
As the moon waxes full and rises high
Chasing, then fleeing the brightness of day
Mindful that her glory in time will soon wane
The sun e'er regal in brilliant array
And proud to lord o'er all the day
Knows it's she who holds his praise
Her face commands his constant gaze
Her heart there also yearns for he
And aches to embrace him passionately
So to his bed she'll sometimes stray
To kiss her love, the Lord of Day
When they meet and there, embrace
And all is hidden from each face
Time near stops for those below
Though none feel shame at such a show
The world does patiently wait and bide
This cycle unswerving that pushes the tide
It feeds the poet such favor and boon
That causes young lovers...and dogs to swoon
O'er this heavenly tryst of the sun and moon.

The heavens, speckled with small dots of light
Sometimes shooting as they pass through the night
Many pin pricks scattered throughout the sky
Allows spent prowess to pound way up high
I delight in the show of sparkling stars
All blasts a form shining beyond, so far
Master of the lights is the humble moon
Covers its fair share of beams like a tune
Harmony, the light of the sky exists
Coexisting with a warmth that’s betwixt
Once the sky is clear, twinkling pebbles rock
A glow so perfect, there’s never a block
The warmth of the sky comes down to the Earth
Beauty and fondness illustrates the birth…
Of the speckled tiny dotted heaven
The greatest of numbers, number seven
Fathered the smiles off of people’s faces
The light arrives and then blesses with grace
The moon escapes, brings with it all its light
Stars all align with randomness tonight
Oh, the morning's Godly devotions
Amid ungodly emotions
Walking the earth, dampness soothing the sole
Bound to it with affinity and closeness
Yet heaven bound, tearing away from this concrete shoe
The coffin-drumming clods of clay
Covered with verge and fields of hay
A thin covering at that
As if the bountiful bosom is clad with a slip of silk,
A wisp of decency
Oh, the throes of fleshly woes
The shudder and fever of the soul's great war
Obsession, passion, thrills after fashion
The lashing of a scaly tail at the end of this mortal coil
Toil, toil, the gravel pit of survival
For what, mere existence?
The passions collide, asteroid striking planet,
Barren wasteland exploding in pits and pocks,
Craters round, dry as bone
Dry as love, old as valleys
Soundlessly, airlessly, lovelessly grey
Should I leave or should I stay?
Passion swells as sea's mighty tide
Thrusting the shore, thrusting, subside
Yet the shore is not moved, not even an inch
And on the moon there is no thirst to be quenched
No moisture, no thrust
No place, no lust
No sound to awake
No ear to hear the gong
of time tick and take
Whispers caress the silky night,
Silent prayers in midflight,
Clouds parted by an unseen hand,
Shining moonlight upon a darkened land,
What a sight to behold,
As the silver flower unfolds,
Adding essence to a shrouded tryst,
The lure of such beauty I dare not resist,
As tides and waves pay the toll,
A mesmerising murmur quickens my soul,
A restless aching, a need for more,
I close my eyes as my feet leave the floor,
Floating freely further away,
Here will I remain until the break of day.
The mysterious times and seasons The changing light is this the reason? A harvest moon giving light for work to be done White light the usual reflection of the night sun Flowing light from orange’s to red’s some words disappear when moonlit read Gathering up all red’s is the harvest light Even the rose looks grey and dead by night Stranger still is the mysterious hue Where does it come from the Blue? * * Note, Strange Moonlight- NASA science
A Hush falls upon the night,
As conjurations take full flight,
Sashaying through the misty dew
My thoughts drift towards you
Silently asleep lips lightly apart
Rhythmic intakes keeping time with your heart
A sigh, a gasp, a frown,
What could thy dreams be as the rain thunders down?
A smile in the darkness, a tug upon the sheets,
Covering your face as the coldness nibbles at your feet,
Eyes flicker for a moment then the moment is gone,
Soon the spell of the moon shall be broken by chant of a new dawn.
The satin sky as the moon rises bathes us in silken moonlight
Gazing at infinity and a God given awesome sight.
Pondering on how small we are in Gods great universe
Planning out our lives but finding there is no rehearse.
Wondering what might have been, but it does not get us far?
Things are now, what time we have, yes that is what they are.
Change is a difficult thing, but imagination is a gift
Sometimes when things are not just right, this can give us a lift.
The harvest moon time is approaching; days are getting shorter in length
But lying here with our thoughts entwined knowing you are there gives me strength.
Yesterday you brought me flowers,
Since then you had me devoured.
Your voice, your touch I seek at night,
Losing you had always been a fright.
My life, you promised you’d cherish,
Risked in your hands, if it might perish
And when moon shone I’m into sleep
My future, tomorrow, was yours to keep.
That night, we embraced in your charms.
You held me tight, I’m protected and unharmed.
Your vows, easily spoken but I trusted.
Our bodies, our souls, our desires were lust.
With 3 words “I love you”, we’re on my bed.
My sane was lost, I begged, but you went ahead!
Under the moon, my body you were in deep,
I knew my future, tomorrow, was yours to keep.
Today, with a smirk on your face, you came
Said goodbye, thanks for the night and what’s left was my blame.
No matter how bad I wanted you to turn around
You walked away, left me knees on the ground.
One night, memories, your blood left behind.
Why did you leave me? So cruel and unkind.
And tonight, the moon shone on the tears I’d weep,
But I now know my future, my tomorrow, isn't yours to keep.
On a night in November with a full moon sky
There is a graveyard in the Highlands where spirits fly
Scriptures of old are chanted by the past
As they rise through the earth as the red ones are cast
Gravestones levitate with precision and ease
As dark angels in black glide through the trees
To a stone they surround as they circle above
Slowly they transform into an ebony dark dove
Upon this stone it perches as it awaits the await
For when the red butterflies fly, the light they desecrate
The sky turns from night into a reddy dawn
As the moon hits their red their spirits now flown
They land where they land, guided by the dark dove
Their quest is to capture and lure life's love
In the village near the graveyard on this November night
A population in fear, in fright of their light
Before the sun rises souls are drawn as if sprites
No care for the living, their presence leaves blight
A new day starts as if the previous night never happened
For when the red butterflies fly, come this November night
You may be summoned
The princess took a stroll under the full moon
As she went, she hummed a pleasant tune.
ABSENCE OF MOONLIGHT **
Moonlight is borrowed light.
Unless a mirror is lent life bright
From a golden-voiced source
Its own cadence is coarse.
It has no life of its own.
Thus also the moon, locked alone
In black magnificence, her rule
Is of an empty kingdom cool,
With only dead dust - unless
The daylight’s king should bless
Her with words that wake the night,
With radiant beaming smiles of light.
** Strictly speaking the moon has no light of
course. So, there is always an absence of moonlight.
The moon inhales a bunch of cosmic dust
Making it seem the craters are of rust
Unknown is the start of glowing stardust
Maybe he’s found his powers that adjust
I love the moon and if he surely must
He digs in his pocket, showers stardust
Nice here on Earth with heaven sent stardust
It swirls in the wind, picks up in a gust
The moon delivers its pride, not a bust
What we have embraced, the love of stardust
Entrant into Gail Angel Doyle's "Blanket of Stardust" contest
Softly touching deep cords vibrate within,
The song within my heart with golden notes begin.
As sadness flows trickling In Cello magic,
Soul's storm It Is flowing In Violin tragic.
Like a river babbling wild free,
The heart has no bounds where Love has to be.
Sweet dancing upon ripples of air,
A waltz In the clouds with dream's lady so fair.
Flowing Into an open ocean's waves,
Upon your golden heart your dream Love engraves.
Singing echoes haunting our world,
Dream's memories before us unfurled.
Rising salted emotions suffering powerless,
Sadness grows and the heart loses Its prowess.
Baited breaths shawled deep held Inside tears,
Cold Ice cube memories brittle Icing fears.
Floating breeze fluttering gently,
Touching desires In Love's flame diligently.
Touching each string cries out,
What tunes shall these strings shout.
A songbirds lament,
In grief It Is sent.
A piano speaks so softly,
As Its keys play music loftily.
Telling one story In tune,
That shall ever be told before moon.
How sweet your beautiful words sung deeply,
How they did touch my tender heart completely.
A Collaboration by Liam Mcdaid & Michael Clarke.
Sailor moon is rising proud
‘Neath her sky of stars and cloud
A silvery moonlit trail she sends
To help us find the far seas’ ends
Then scudding fast from cloud to cloud,
She’ll wait behind each darkening shroud,
Light our craft, our bobbing cork,
And watch our small boat like a hawk.
Our silver ropes' lulling song -
The creamy sails drink in her strong
Steady shine - and all the crew -
Oh, Jason, Franklin - they all knew
The creamy foam, the prow going home
From passage icy up to Nome,
Adieu the Sirens of Anthemusa.
Sleepless dolphin lead their cruiser.
The creamy wake behind the stern
Shows her where we made a turn
Like Bounty, Santa Maria, Argo,
Bearing only her moonlight cargo.

The moonlight casts feint ghostly shadows
In the graveyard of All Hallows.
The clock strikes twelve high in the tower
And by the headstone stands a flower –
It’s Nature’s tribute and a sign :
These shades of John and Caroline
Who haunt this moonlit churchyard now,
Still faithful to their marriage vow,
Walk hand in hand eternally,
Forgotten by their family.
Tonight is the full moon, through the clouds it’s blazing bright,
And from the tingle I feel in my bones, it’ll be quite a night;
It’s the one night a month that the moon has control,
I can feel it in my being, all the way to my soul;
The sway the moon holds over me, is calling out in victory,
I can feel it now I’m letting go, soon the monster will be free;
Just one night a month the beast can roam,
And it’s the one night a month that I never come home;
The brute takes over my body and will,
And destroys everything with deadly skill;
All I can do is sit back for the ride,
All conscious thoughts are trapped inside;
So many times I’ve tried to get out,
But I can’t even do so much as a shout;
When the demon inside me once again is at large,
Beware to you all, because I’m not in charge!
They confine us to the dark,
So we will seize the night.
Shadows full and beautiful,
Full moon and pale starlight.
Closing eyes with parting lips,
And drawing final breath.
Drawing blood and lines of love,
Awoken in this death.
Pleasure, drowning, lost in you,
My skin lays bitten, bare.
The sweetest suffocation,
I’m loving, lacking air.
The moon has left me Lycan,
And you're allowed to bite.
They confine us to the dark,
So we will seize the night.
of water sign, Cancerians are most emotional of all
seem moon cold but are warm and glow as luminol
sensitive individuals, they are caring and giving
circulate in familiar circles and are home loving
always nourish and nurture their relationships
take good care of all friends when down in chips
they don’t expect a return for their own favors
even distant ones can get a feel of their flavors
they are quite protective of their personal spaces
such as interests, possessions, and relationships
guided by intuition they think out-of-the-box
relying bit on gut feeling, logic at spurs is lost
they may easily be affected by failures and setbacks
and are prone to pessimism and lack the whack
their mood swings are famous and unpredictable
but it can be a bit overwhelming for other people
Cancerians are said to be tad complex and conservative
they cross-check everything, leaving you no alternative
over-sensitive, they tend to harbour imaginary hurts
doubts when cleared, can suffer from bouts of regrets
they are protective of their emotions and can be cringy
can’t let go of things easily and not help but be a clingy
Moonlight’s song is borrowed, trite.
Unless her echo is lent tune bright
From a golden-voiced source,
Her own cadence is coarse:
It has no life of its own.
Hear the moon, on stage alone
In black magnificence. Her rule
Is of an empty kingdom cool,
With tone-deaf somnolence - unless
Daylight’s king of harmony bless
Her with warm tones of delight :
In songs that wake the night.
She held the case against the moon
in bubbled glasses sea green hewn
and whispered nothings to the fish
her sea fins swishing at her wish
"The case against the moon", she said,
"began the day that I was wed
and on that day the tide pulled back
to swirling waves to ships attack
It 'twas this day my love embarked
a voyage to sustain my heart
while I a lowly mermaid be
he came to set my spirit free...
His ship was bitten by the wind
a low and moaning hull of tin
His eyes of coal to be immersed
while I searched for my wedding purse
Pearls from oysters for my crown
and seaweed stitched a wedding gown
His laugh and all his love did die
and, on my fins, I know not why
And so bold moon, I challenge you
to bring the worst that you can do
and I will fight with all my will
until the tides return to still."
The passive moon, it heaved a sigh
and tides began to do or die
while waves in turmoil turned to swell
the fish turned too, and wished her well.
She threw her glasses to the sea
and dove to indigo caves once free
to tether nets of liquid ore
to quell the moon forever more
On flying fish she pulled her nets
beyond the sun's impartial sets
to catch the moon and hurl her down
a luminous splash, and then no sound
The earth went dark, the sea went cold
all mermaids there went grey and old
The sea floor shook at the moon's embrace
in a glowing ripple of pure disgrace
Still in the sky in purple wind
the mermaid whispered: "I have sinned"
She shed a thousand briny tears
and flew the skies with grief and fears
'till deciding at last what she should do
She set a course to save the moon.
She dove to the bottom of a sea of light
and what she saw was quite a sight
The broken pieces in scattered glow
This wasn't the moon she used to know
So gently, with fins and liquid lips
she balanced a shard on her mermaid hips
and flew to the ink, to the sky of sorrow
with a sadness of what would be brought the morrow
The sliver she placed in the sky that night
became the "new moon" to dimly light
the ocean each month to gently grieve
it's ships and it's mermaids to long bereave.
An orange moon lit up the sky
And spread it's heavenly glow
It shone on a landscape cold with grief
And newly fallen snow
'What's this? the moon in horror gasped
Mother Nature you must be wrong
The maples still are red and gold
We still sing Autumn's song
Call out the sun and melt that stuff
It's barely Halloween
December's moon has yet to shine
And Christmas to be seen!'
October had now come again just like it did back since,
The gunfighter Sam Holt had shot the kid named Benny Pence.
It was on All Hallows’ night with the moon high and blood red—
When Benny came lookin’ for him before he shot him dead.
Why would a fool farm boy try to draw on that gun slinger?
When he had no chance on God’s earth if he raised a finger?
But sure enough on that night, that’s what all the town then saw—
When Benny Pence raised his gun and said the fatal word: “Draw!”
But that had been a year ago come this All Hallows’ Eve,
And Sam Holt felt a cold wind blow that made him want to leave.
The harvest moon now hung above as Sam walked down the street—
He stopped for one brief moment at the place where they did meet.
Then like a dream that voice came back that meekly called him out—
Sam’s cold, sweaty hand then trembled as he began to shout:
“Don’t call me Ben! I’ll shoot you dead, and this time I’ll make good!”
Then Sam wildly drew and fired at the pale moon where he stood.
Somewhere a hoot owl screamed and Sam’s loud shots rang out on high,
As he fired and fired again at Ben’s shadow so he’d die.
But when the gun smoke cleared and that dim vision was not there,
Sam Holt now stood just a dyin’ in the dusty street square.
There were no gunshots in Sam’s body, no marks found at all—
His hair now white, his once ruddy flesh now a deathly pall.
Yet when the town folk buried Sam, they noticed at Boot Hill,
Two other graves marked Pence by the one they had come to fill.
Benny Pence and his brother Bud, had died a year apart—
Both shot down by Sam Holt that feared gunslinger with no heart.
And so the three now rested within gun fire of the others—
Holt now dead of fright from those two departed Pence brothers.
And so each year it happened: other slingers would meet fate—
And die of fright All Hallows’ night when the hour was late.
So now folk knew the story of that fool kid Benny Pence—
Come back to revenge his brother each All Hallows’ night since.
How can I tell them she's not one of us?
we all came together
we all share a trust
the storm rages wildly just outside the door
if they put her out she can't live anymore
she doesn't seem different ,she looks just the same
as all of the astronauts children who came
for the reunion of dreams from that age
where living in space was the ultimate rage
Late on the evening of our first arrival
we bantered a little about our survival
she asked me to take a late walk through
the third moon of Magnus was nearing
eerie thin light held a cascade of blues
sweeping her visage with comforting hues
her mother was chosen to walk through
and she was born after a mission to Mars
she told me her story and then took my hand
transporting me high over this barren land
something was out there she said as we flew
the birth of the difference between me and you
she opened her mouth and a rainbow ascended
we walked even higher and then it all ended
I woke in the air lock confused and dejected
should I tell the others of all I suspected?
The doctor says no,I should wait for a spell
it might seal her fate if I break down and tell
she's dressed as a nurse ,it's a silly disguise
everyone knows by the moon in her eyes
that she is the one who is strange as can be
I'm laughing out loud as they all look at me.
Looking up the skies all my thoughts are only of you for me tonight.
I look at the full moon high and see your face shining at me so bright.
And then I think of all the great times that together have lived before now.
My heart will never forget them but remember them always with a grand wow!
I can never even begin to contemplate what my life would ever be without you.
I know that God has blessed me so much when He gave the gift of you to me.
Many times in my mind I just relive the wonderful day that you came in my life.
I acknowledge that sometimes we have gone through a lot of woes and strife.
But looking at the moon and the stars tonight makes me feel your love much more.
Your love is like the most wonderful and gentle song I've heard soaring in the wind.
And without your love and your presence I know my life would lose a lot of its joy.
There's so much that I'd like to tell you everyday and of all the nights tonight, so boy,
Here tonight under all this moon and bright stars let me proclaim all my love to you.
I'll always love you and forever stand by your side, whenever or wherever, I happen to be!
Dorian Petersen Potter
A running conversation stood catching it's breath
on the hill of decision, on the day of it's death
In an effort to stop the inevitable flow
of the moon in it's belly on a mission to grow
It stepped to the edge of the hill and transpired
with verbiage gone ancient and aching for fire
It stood up on tiptoes and opened it's mouth
to let the sun in, or to let the moon out
This running conversation was made up of air
and moods of the moment and bent silver hair
which reflected the sun in an effort to stir
all the things that it loved while he motioned to her
It took a look down to the Pool of Dissolve
and felt the earth shimmer within it's revolve
In an effort to keep conversation alive
it trampolined toes into a swan dive.
Something not to miss
a twilight eclipse
when moon is pale
and all things wail
When moon is full
and the waves feel its pull
when all things beneath the sea of red
are either sleeping or happily dead
When moon is high
with spirits nigh
the bloodred sky chills
to cast a soft glimmer across these hills
When moon is bright
hanging high in night
all stars creep back
to hide behind the silver in shamed black
Crossing the sky at night in full view
is a marvelous orb with yellowish hue.
The moon in its own, a beautiful thing,
still can’t compare to what’s making me sing.
I think back on life and of all that I’ve had.
Reasons to delight and to rarely be sad.
Still something is missing. I try to pretend,
that surely I’ll find it, least barring my end.
I always keep busy; I laugh, dance and play;
Own all that I need, the capitalist way.
Days feeling hollow are hidden from most.
Though wearing a smile, seems the life of a ghost.
At last I awaken and again feel alive.
Have a feeling of power; again I’ve got drive.
No more than a prospect, a one in five chance.
Odds be against me, still bet the whole ranch.
You entered my life, like the moon in the sky.
Climbing first slowly, then rising so high.
You seem within reach, it’s the fall of the year,
the moon looks so big and deceptively near.
In awe of your beauty there’s the feeling I must
raise my arms to the heavens and upward they thrust.
I know it’s pretentious just thinking I can
touch a heavenly body, I’m only a man.
If meant to be held, the moon will be mine.
If not I’ll exalt till the end of all time;
how you once filled my sky with the warmth of your glow,
how I once dared to reach from my comfort below.
