WALKING THE AUTUMN PATH

WALKING THE AUTUMN PATH Cracklings under my feet breathing fragrant leafage of reds and golds, brown twigs of trees- fallen. Juicy succulent pears, big-bright orange pumpkins fill crates in the grocery store- displayed. Fresh-baked breads, apple pies flirting sweet to my nose, I hastily run: tasting all, I burp! Cool, crisp air kissed our cheeks as we sit close outside steady gazing the evening sky: moon, stars... _______________________________________________________ CONTEST NAME: AUTUMN STROLL CINQUAIN FORM Contest Sponsor: Eve Roper ~~2nd place~~ Olive Eloisa Guillermo 5:24 pm, October 22, 2015

Winter - Traditional Cinquain

So cold
The kiss of death
That downs the autumn leaves
To burn in crimson flames beneath
Her ice

Blossoms

Blossoms Upon branches Relieved from winter's frost Exclaim their joy in sweetest scents Love found. A spring In their step, hands Held together, he stops Plucks a bloom, place it in her hair, Hearts pound. Eyes locked He proposes She opens her arms, sobs And made their vows under the pink Blossoms. Revelation

From far
A voice surges
That speaks to the heart
It wants to reach and be heard
Closer.

Silence's
Necessary
To keep away the noises
Confusion, the mercenary's
Query.

Listen
And come to know
The soul of each season
That wishes to speak to our soul
Their goal.

Open
The ears to hear
The words that are spoken
Parents, Their love revealed in each
Season.

And see
Melt away night
Our fears, our tears and sneers
With the wine of Their love's pure light
God's might.

Nature's Melody

                                                              Birdsong
                                                        fills the spring air,
                                                      serenading new life.
A chorus of insects joins in
                                                              the song.

The New Spring Morning

Pleasing
Morning spring air
Blowing kisses, soft blush
Upon my cheeks, brings natural
Make up.

Seizing
My frame to wake
My heart in the upbeat
With the prospect of a new day
To meet.

Teasing
Senses to feel
The hopes of dreams, reborn
With the new morn, chasing spirits
Forlorn.

Easing
The mind open
To new horizons
With the fragrance of the new spring
Risen.

AFTERNOON (two Cinquain)

AFTERNOON ( two Cinquain)

Deep breath
Winter is done
Spring breath rustles the trees
And here I sit all afternoon
Thinking (winter is done)
You foolish man!
Live NOW!

Warm flute
And Debussy
“Afternoon of a Faun”
I can almost see the meadow
Sense his young innocence
He’s safe quite calm
Respite

PRECIOUS MOMENTS a quintile

Long days
Of August sun
Where nature blinks and shrinks
The dying grass,yellowed in sleep-
Held fast
as
Oat grass
Tinted old gold
Shimmers on tall green stems;
On a clear warm light of evening sun-
Back-lit
the
Brimstone
Awakens,then
From each flower hovers
On the drying wind of the breeze-
Sun-lit.
