Something New- A Christmas Sonnet Acrostic

Christmas Music

Crisp winter, dust of snow, shivering fun
Hint of celebration flow around town
Reaching the sheer beauty of the season
Impatient chimneys burning slowly down
Santa baby will climb down to a waltz
Taming him with tantalizing taffy
Mistletoe kisses with buzz somersaults
Above ragamuffins warm and cozy
Sleeping dreaming of presents they’ll open

Magic of the night affairs in the stars
Under fuzzy quilt while wind rings the chimes
Sounds of soft footsteps coming down wood stairs
Impatient to see Santa’s good tidings
Children’s eyes light up with joy. Exciting!

A Christmas Sonnet

Wild Earth--where all seems vanity and woe,
Old Earth--enmeshed in seasons of belief,
Sad Earth--where all the glory that we know
Is Man, a half-blind Phoenix, fighting grief--

There was a time when time was overcome,
When down the ladder Jacob dreamed about,
A Spirit came to find terrestrial home;
It nestled in a Child; it came without

Our clarions of pomp, without brass praise-
A Child, O Earth, a star for inner night,
For creatures in a dark and temporal haze,
A gift of God, perennial delight.

No doubt you trembled, Earth, so great the care
In love for Man to give and, giving, share.

A Christmas Sonnet Acrostic

"Christmas Magic"

Christmas scent hovers in the air
Holly’s dangling off gates and stairways
Raspberry pie sizzling at the oven glare
Icicles jazz up the hues of heaven rays
Santa ‘s climbing up chimneys with a grin
Tucking kids’ dream with Noel fantasy
Mary is giving birth to redeem human’s sin
Amazing grace breaking down grey apathy
Silver tree branches smiling at the crowd

Marveled at the sight of the dancing flakes
Attached their hands, falling off the cloud
Gracefully landing on the frozen lakes
I am in love with Christmas ancient magic
Cuddling up by fire, tasting memory nostalgic

CHRISTMAS ELVES

Christmas is a time for famiy
Home is where they all will be
         Rumageing through the presents happily
In the hope that they have under the tree
         Santa comes on Xmas Eve
         That the chldren do belive
May they go on doing so
Along as we tell them so
See in them the imagination there

         Everyone is so very happy
Loving and giving at this time
Vying who will have the best
Excatly whoes is that funny vest
Shush, now‘s the time for all to rest
