Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down

To the tune of "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town"

You better look up,
prepare for His sight.
The Lord will come back
some day or some night.
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He's making a list.
He's paid the great price.
Who's going in route
to His paradise?
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're breathing.
He knows you need His grace.
He knows that we have all been bad,
but He died to take our place.

With bright Seraphim and bright Cherubim,
Trumpy trumpets, and drummy drum drums,
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're weeping.
He offers His embrace.
He knows you like nobody else,
yet He loves you anyway.

You better not doubt.
You wanna know why?
Your life could end soon.
There's no second try.
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down

The Christmas Song -Of Woe-

Who is knocking on my door tonight?
Debt collectors! Those thugs that we'll ignore
Yuletide woes being sung by my spouse
While we've drawn the shades, and doused the lights!

Everyone knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Would help to make the season bright
But we'll be eating beans, 'cause our pocketbooks are lean
Oh! We're out of Tums!!......The house could blow tonight !!!

They say that Santa's on his way
But our petty cash won't jingle much today
So this mother hen is going to cry
Because her hungry chicks won't have an egg to fry!

And so, I'm offering this simple phrase....
To folks from one to ninety two
Although the recession....is behind our depression...
Merry Christmas, ....Boo Hoo !

Sing a Song of Christmas - The Six Senses Part 2

What Makes Christmas Sweet (Taste)

It’s taffy, chewy in my teeth,
And chocolate melting on my tongue,
The crunch of candy bars like Heath;
It’s taffy, chewy in my teeth,
Bright gumdrops from a homemade wreath,
Or candy canes from tree limbs hung!
It’s taffy, chewy in my teeth
And chocolate melting on my tongue.

I Love (Touch)

I love to feel the fire’s warm glow
And touch your face by its soft light.
To be back home, out of the snow,
I love to feel the fire’s warm glow,
Your breath against my cheek and know
You’ll be with me through all the night.
I love to feel the fire’s warm glow
And touch your face by its soft light.

The Song of the Christmas Snow

There is nothing with so much life as a Christmas snow
The crisp air is still as little dancing stars float to the earth
Strong old trees become burdened with drifts of white upon their bows
But seem honored to be dressed in such finery and appear almost to move
In fact, everything has come to life to watch the snowfall.
Then everything is quiet
There is a whisper in the air
It ripples through the trees
See the birds, they are the first to recognize the whisper
As the Masters of Chorus, the birds know it is a song
They sit as true musicians memorizing the lyrics and rhythm
So, the snow speaks, the voice is old, like it has sung this song many times
As the squirrels could tell you this is a lullaby, and they begin to search from their
perches in the trees for the newborn
And life and love has never felt as strong as now
A horse in its pastures stomps his foot disturbed
Though he hears the song the birds do and the lullaby the squirrels hear, he,
along with all of the worlds creatures, could swear he just heard a cry
The squirrels chatter with laughter, knowing they where right and the birds take
up the snow-song to welcome the child they heard cry
And then they stop and the world is silent
The snow has stopped falling
The cry was only a memory from Christmas long past
The child, a child of time whose
Voice comes with the Christmas snows,
To give every soul the chance to hear
The song of joy and love and beginning,
So it is never forgotten;
The song of the Christmas Snow

Sing a Song of Christmas - The Six Senses - Part 1

The Yule Tide Sights (Sight) It’s tinsel, ornaments and lights, The Yule Tide sights all people love: Bright yellows, reds, and greens and whites; It’s tinsel, ornaments and lights We yearn to see December nights - Delights we all never tire of! It’s tinsel, ornaments and lights, The Yule Tide sights all people love. The Gladdening (Hearing) As bells go ring-a-ling-a-ling, And old St. Nick goes, “Ho, ho, ho,” The people’s hearts are gladdening. As bells go ring-a-ling-a-ling, Its “Fa la la,” we hear folks sing. An elf joins in on piccolo As bells go ring-a-ling-a-ling And old St. Nick goes, “Ho, ho, ho!”

That Christmas Feeling

A snowy Christmas is what we all prayed for
Probably because it never happened before
We didn’t need it to have Christmas cheer
But it sure would be nice to see the white stuff this year

You can’t force it; that Christmas feeling just comes to you
Can’t tell you how, but even when it’s overdue..
Life’s trials sometimes get in the way
But if you’re open to it, that Christmas feeling will come to you and stay
…If you’re open, it will come to you and stay.

One Christmas a few years back, I was having a drink in an old country bar
Listening to a guy play Blue Christmas on guitar
An old bar tender poured me another beer, looked over and said
By the shape of your dungarees, it’s been one hell of a year.

Christmas had me thinking, Is this how it ought to be?
Usually it was a Spirit, most would say Holy, which helped me to see
Then I smiled, ‘cause a thought showed me, it might not have turned out okay
If in 3rd grade, Mrs. Harrington hadn’t sat me in your way

That Christmas feeling will come to you and stay …If you’re open, it will come to you and stay.

The bartender saw the new smile on my face
Said laughingly, That newlywed glow will soon leave without a trace
I didn’t have the heart to tell him, but this Christmas it’s been fifteen years
Since I fell in love with you forever, ‘cause it’s the heart that hears

As I drive up to our home, with it’s simple light show
A feeling came over me and it began to snow
I could hear the kids joyfully screaming inside
And I thanked God that he helped me hang on for the ride.

We all feel low at times; it’s just that way
But it you’re open to it, that Christmas feeling will come to you and stay
…If you’re open, it will come to you and stay.

Some have asked about how song turned out. Check for on itunes under my name Shawn Sackman. Thanks.

A Merry Christmas To The World

To San Francisco, New York City.
London, Paris, and the world.

Moscow, Russia, and Frankfort, Germany.
Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium.

I send a message to them all.
I send the nicest message, to a world
of people, who are!

Givin' and livin'.Just livin' and givin'.
Just givin' and livin', and lovin' for all.

A Merry Christmas to you darling.
A Merry Christmas to the world.
A Merry Christmas to a world of people, who are!

Givin' and livin'.Just livin' and givin'.
Just givin' and livin', and lovin' for all.

To Portugal, Ireland, and France.
To Africa, and Canada, and South America.

I send the nicest message to them all.
I send the nicest message to a world of people, who are!

Givin' and livin'.Just livin' and givin'.
Just givin' and livin', and lovin' for all.

To Spain, Mexico, and Japan.
To Sweden, Scotland, and the world.
To Scandinavia, and all of the Baltic States.
And what I've excluded, from them all.

A Merry Christmas to you darling.
A Merry Christmas to the world.
A Merry Christmas to a world of people, who are!

Givin' and livin'.Just livin' and givin'..
Just givin' and livin', and lovin' for all..

Christmas Teddy Bear, On CD

Darling, what I want for Christmas, is you to be my teddy bear,
Some hugs and kisses between us, a song and dance to share,
Some hugs and kisses between us, a warm and listening ear,
Some hugs and kisses between us, the charm of Christmas cheer,

Yes, what I want for Christmas, is you to be my teddy bear,
Some hugs and kisses between us, in tender loving care,
Some hugs and kisses between us, a song and dance to share,
Some hugs and kisses between us, as I hold you near,

For love to be with us, throughout our Christmas years,
Darling, what I want for Christmas, is you to be my teddy bear,
Some hugs and kisses between us, the charm of Christmas cheer,
Some hugs and kisses between us, the warmth of Christmas dear,

Enduring love to be with us, throughout our Christmas years,
Darling, what I want for Christmas, is you to be my teddy bear,
Some hugs and kisses between us, some hugs and kisses between us,
Some hugs and kisses between us, "Won't you be my teddy bear!!"

A Christmas Song for You on Xmas

center Christmas Song for Christmas 2012 This Song is a gift for all my Christian friends on the Xmas Day. Soon I would place it on You Tube also.Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year 2013 to all my friends. Ravindra You who is our savior sublime, You who made our heart so kind, Through prayer you taught us, To reach near You Through tears you taught us How to pardon others. Through Love and Kindness, You have showed us The lofty heights, Through benevolence You purified the hearts full of sins. And by bearing our sufferings On your shoulders O’ God, You taught to smile even in strife, O God, How beautifully you have taught us, To win hatred with love and sacrifice. A Cowboy Christmas

On a cowboy Christmas in the west.
Another cowboy Christmas song and dance.
Driving our herd.Drinking our ale.
As we make our way.Along the trail.

Ranch lights glistening.
Children listening.
To hear; Santa's sleigh bells in the snow.

On a cowboy Christmas in the west.
I think this Christmas. We'll be blessed.
We'll drive our cattle.Pull off that saddle.
Then we'll get ourselves some rest.

Ranch lights glistening.
Children listening.
To hear; Santa's sleigh bells in the snow.

On a cowboy Christmas in the west.
Our cowboy Christmas is the best.
Firewood burning.Charcoal churning..
Santa Claus smiling with the rest.

Ranch lights glistening.
Children listening.
To hear; Santa's sleigh bells in the snow..

LETTER TO SANTA

He sat up late one night and wrote,
His heartfelt Christmas dream.
Dear Santa, I wont ask for much.
His eyes began to gleam.
I've got a baseball and a glove,
A rocket and launching pad.
I've got so many things to share,
But, I haven't got my dad.
He left us not to long ago.
He didn't even pack.
He went to heaven, Mommy said.
But, now I want him back.

I miss my Daddy.
I miss the way he holds my hand.
I miss my Daddy.
And I don't really understand.
I miss my Daddy.
I know he must be missing me.
If you can find him, Santa.
Please, put him underneath the Christmas tree.

He always hugs me when he leaves.
He always says goodbye.
I hope he wasn't mad at me.
It makes me want to cry.
It's not the same without him here.
Why did he go away?
My Mommy's eyes are always red.
She won't come out and play.
Dear Santa, I just want one thing.
The love that I once had.
I'll give you everything I own,
If you'll bring me my Dad.

I miss my Daddy.
I miss the way he holds my hand.
I miss my Daddy.
And I don't really understand.
I miss my Daddy.
I know he must be missing me.
If you can find him, Santa.
Please, put him underneath the Christmas tree.

I hope it's not to much to ask.
I hope I've made it clear.
My Mommy misses Daddy, too,
And wishes he were here.
If you can't bring him back to me,
I hope I'll understand.
You've always done your best, I know,
To make my Christmas grand.

I miss my Daddy.
I miss him every single day.
I miss my Daddy.
OH Santa. Why'd he go away?
I miss my Daddy.
I know he must be missing me.
Please! Find my Daddy, Santa.
And put him underneath the Christmas tree.

A Simple Southern Christmas

It's gonna be a simple southern Christmas here.
All I want from Santa is some egg nog, bourbon and beer.
I'm gonna wait on Santa Christmas Eve night,
and when he's not lookin' I just might,
steal his reindeer.
It's gonna be a simple southern Christmas here.
I'm sending out my Christmas cheer.
I'm gonna sit on my front porch swing and sing.
It will be a good thing to hear those jingle bells ring.
I thought I seen Santa on the backwoods bayou road,
but instead it was a big fat toad.
It'a a wonderful simple southern Christmas here.
Santa just brought me some egg nog, bourbon, and beer.
When he wasn't lookin' I stole his reindeer.
So now I can deliver my Christmas cheer.
But hurry, hurry, I'm in a rush,
got to give that reindeer a little push.
Got to go, got to go,
got to get home to fix my gumbo.
It is Christmas day,
and I'm in a rush I must say.
It's gonna be a simple southern Christmas here.
Just add egg nog, bourbon and beer.
Mix it up with some Christmas cheer.
I'm ready for Christmas every year.

A Christmas Snow

Snowy splendor of white fluffy freshly fallen snow blanketing everything that
Gets in its way, sparkling like glitter from the illumination descending light
Of the stars, moon, and lights of the street lamp.

Snowman all a glitter in the front yard, with its black top hat, a scarf around its neck,
An orange carrot nose, greeting all visitors.
Snow settled on the spindly tree branches glisten like arms with finger

The homes lit up with different colored Christmas lights on eaves for the holiday spirit,
A candle lit in the window a beacon for those that are traveling,
A warm welcoming to friends to come in and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate,
Wrapped in a warm quilt, enjoying Christmas stories
And sit around the inviting fireplace.

A fresh cut blue spruce sits by the window decorated with delicate old glass
Ornaments handed down, candy canes, toys, children’s handmade ornaments,
an a star to light up the top of the tree, wrapped with strings of popcorn and
cranberry garland, homemade cookies and cakes scenting the air

Carolers out in the chill of the winter night, all warm in stocking hats, wool
Mittens, snow boots, and warm coats singing,
Deck The Halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Warming people’s hearts

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Christmas Eve

Sing to the melody... “La Cucaracha"

The little children/ the little children/ setting sugar cookies and warm milk....../
Hoping to see him/ hoping to see him/ in his red and white silk!

The little children/ the little children/ anticipate the leading red light........../
Hoping to see him/ hoping to see him/ sliding down the chimney tonight!

The little children/ the little children/ falling asleep on the couch....../
They didn't see him/ they didn't see him/ setting presents in a crouch!

Sugar Christmas

           Sugar Christmas
           by Nata Stinson
Sugar Christmas, sugar snow
 Falling down, down below,
 Painting city to the white
Bring me Peace and Light!

For the girl, for the boy
Lot of gifts, lot of joy!
For the Stranger –silver ray,
Bring him home again!

Sugar Christmas, sugar snow
Falling down, down below,
Through the year I will miss
Sugar on your lips...

Sugar Christmas, sugar snow
Falling down, down below,
Painting city to the white
Bring us Peace and Light!

The Bells From Heaven And The Carollers Singing

People gather round, to hear the bells from heaven.
People gather round, to hear the carollers sing.

The sound in the air, was the bells from heaven.
The sound in the air, was the bells that ring.

Ding-a-ling-a-ling was the bells from heaven.
Ding-a-ling-a-ling was the bells that ring.

People gather round, to hear the bells from heaven.
People gather round, to hear the carollers sing.

The sound in the air, was the carollers singing.
The sound in the air, was the carollers that sing.

La-la-la-la-la-was the carollers singing.
La-la-la-la-la-was the carollers that sing.

People gather round, to hear the bells from heaven.
People gather round, to hear the carollers sing..

A Florida Christmas Jingle

Written to the tune of "Jingle Bells"

Here in Florida,
We don't get any snow,
We don't have sleighs to ride,
But we do have mistletoe!

For a little Christmas jaunt,
We'll drive 'round after dark,
To view the Christmas-lighted homes,
And displays at the park.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
He! He! He!
Christmas time is here.
Let's deck the halls and shop the malls,
To spread some Christmas cheer!
Ho! Ho! Ho!
He! He! He!
Christmas time is here.
Let's deck the halls and shop the malls,
To spread some Christmas cheer!

Driving through the rain,
In a souped up Cheverolet,
Traffic's moving slow,
But hey, that's A-okay.

Christmas carols blare,
From the Chevy's radio,
We're having fun singing along,
Making words up as we go!

Ho! Ho! Ho!
He! He! He!
Christmas time is here.
Let's deck the halls and shop the malls,
To spread some Christmas cheer!
Ho! Ho! Ho!
He! He! He!
Christmas time is here.
Let's deck the halls and shop the malls,
To spread some Christmas cheer!

12/4/2011 for Debbie Guzzi's Deja vu Christmas contest.

Trying to think of a Christmas song or story that I could modernize, Jingle Bells popped in my head. I live in Florida and it doesn't (usually) snow here, so tried to come up with a snowless version of the song.

SING A SONG OF CHRISTMAS

SING A SONG OF CHRISTMAS

Sing a song of Christmas
Stockings all in a row,
Tangerines and pennies
Tucked into the toe.

If you were really lucky,
You might get a toy,
A dolly for a little girl
And soldiers for a boy.

Sing a song of Christmas
Bringing home the tree,
With mistletoe and holly,
We decorate for free!

Paper chains and candles
Brighten up the hall,
Lots of fun and laughter
Not much expense at all.

Sing a song of Christmas
Now things have changed
alright,
Children now hang up a
sack
That’s filled on Christmas
night.

Flashing lights on houses
Are fun for all to see,
But they’re going to cost a
fortune in electricity.

Sing a song of Christmas
Thank goodness some things
last,
In best Yuletide tradition
Drink a toast to Christmas past.

Sing a song of Christmas
Every one’s happy and glee,
Opening up their presents,
Given by you and me.

Sing a song of Christmas
We all sit down for lunch,
Looking all around the
place,
What a tasty bunch!

Sing a song of Christmas
Gran’s in her room,
Sending out a text message,
She comes out with her
broom!

Sing a song of Christmas
Family all around,
Merry Christmas to you all,
You cannot hear a sound!

Sing a song of Christmas
Pretending to be happy,
Oh I like my socks –
I got from my granny!

Sing a song of Christmas
We love to just be happy,
But certain people can’t
be like this;
They are a real misery.

Christmas past and some are
Scrooge,
That is how it is,
But deep inside we do feel
good,
Christmas can be bliss.

To all those other Christmases
From when we were all small.
In Dickens’s words from Tiny
Tim: ‘God bless us, one and all.’

Sing a song of Christmas
Baby Jesus is born today,
We all do go to sing in church,
And to the lord, we pray.

The New Santa Claus

I'm locking up my house, because it's that time for thieves.
I need to Santa proof my place, because It's Christmas Eve.
If he does get in, I'm going to run and hide.
I left out some milk and cookies with rat pellets inside.
While he's eating the cookies and he's starting to sweat.
The reindeer will be caught in security nets.
"I'm sorry boys and girls, but Santa has to retire!"
I'm going to tie him to the tree and set poor Santa on fire.
Then I'm going to take the toys and keep them all to myself.
Even though I've been bad, no coals will be on my shelf.
Merry Christmas to me! This year is going to be grand!
I'll get whatever I want, if Christmas goes as I planned!
Wearing Santa Claus' suite I'll get in houses without keys.
In twenty seven minutes I'll rob twenty seven trees!
So all you little brats, don't you cry and sob.
With the recession and depression, I just needed a job.
A lot of things are going to change, but you all shouldn't be sad.
Now that I'm the new Santa, It doesn't matter who's bad.
I'll use the elves as my slaves and the toys will still come.
Instead of a Nintendo, you'll get a gallon of rum.
Toy guns are for babies, how about the real thing?
A candy neckless won't impress, I'll make sure that it's bling.
You said you wanted a pony? How about a deer that can fly?
No more lousy presents, no more socks, or bad ties.
I'll change...
Wait... Wait a minute... Was that all just a dream?
Why do I only have coal under the tree and in my stocking?
Santa please come back! I promse I'll be better next year!
I promise I'll be good and I'll spred more Christmas cheer!

Did Santa Claus come back? Did he come like I thought he should?
No Santa didn't, but next year I'll be good!
I'll only do what is right, aleast to his satisfaction.
So he comes back to my house, and my plan goes back into action!

Christmas Song I love to hear the Music When it comes From the Ringing Bells When the bells began to show Their sounds To call, everyone From far and near the Church To celebrate the The joys of Xmas Which comes only Once in a year. 01 When the Bells ooze these sounds To remind All the God worshipers That love and kindness Is the essence of life Without hatred and difference For anyone. 02 I love to hear the Music When it comes From the Ringing Bells When the Christmas is celebrated With all the beauty of hearts And with all its pomp and shows In every Church around the world In the lovely month of December. 03 Spring Song I also love to hear the Music When it comes From the Ringing Bells During the spring time Every year. 04 Oh what a beauty and joy It is To walk on the green grassland Hearing the sweet sounds Coming From the close by ringing Bells. 05 When the spring is In its bloom I love to hear these sounds Reaching in my ears While moving bare footed And singing A sweet lovely Song In the air Wile moving on the soft stretch Of a grass land Which are vanishing rapidly From the Earth. 06 For me these moments are Very special As I always feel like singing While hearing The sounds coming From all the ringing bells. 07 The sound of these Sweet bells Create waves of thrills and joys More in my mind and heart, Whenever I move On any piece of grassland And hear such sounds coming From the Bells Ringing in the close by. 08 Autumn Song I also love to hear The Music when it comes From The small brooks and streams And from the falling, running and rolling Of all the dry leaves When the winds try to push them So that They may fly one more time With the fast blowing winds Before they get perished for ever In the season of autumn. 09 Such sounds creates a longing In my heart Whenever any bell rings Or the dry leaves fall And run on the ground With the fast blowing wind. 10 I want to walk and run with The fast blowing winds To hear that lovely Music Which says to everyone While spreading its sound in the air The life is too short to waste it Without love and brotherhood for all We are born only To light the lamp Of kindness and love for all Not only for the human beings But For all the blessings of God Which exits in every particle Of Nature In dead or in living form. 11 Ravindra K Kapoor Kanpur India 24th Dec. 2015 Protected Under the copyright provisions of Poetry Soup. Grandpa Got Run Over By A Beer Truck -Fractured Christmas Song-

Grandpa Got Run Over By A Beer Truck (Fractured Christmas Song) Grandpa got run over by a beer truck Walking from the tavern Christmas night, He landed face first into the snow bank Let me tell you now, it was quite the sight. Grandpa drank whiskey and eggnog Then mixed them with some beer, He was dancing to techno music And singing with Santa's reindeer. Grandpa got run over by a beer truck Walking from the tavern Christmas night, He landed face first into the snow bank Let me tell you now, it was quite the sight. What will be his excuse to grandma When she smells alcohol on his breath? He'll probably say he got into a fight Santa almost beat him half to death. Grandpa got run over by a beer truck Walking from the tavern Christmas night, He landed face first into the snow bank Let me tell you now, it was quite the sight. Grandpa staggered out of the tavern He was running into the walls, Let me say, his vision was rather blurred When his pet doberman bit him in the b@lls. Grandpa got run over by a beer truck Walking from the tavern Christmas night, He landed face first into the snow bank Let me tell you now, it was quite the sight. He had tire marks up his backside Serves him right for getting drunk, The driver of the beer truck picked him up And stuffed grandpa in the trunk. Grandpa got run over by a beer truck Walking from the tavern Christmas night, He landed face first into the snow bank Let me tell you now, it was quite the sight. Do You Hear the Song - Wave Contest

This
lovely
time
of year,
Christmas, when
Jesus
Christ
was born.
Angels sang
in Bethlehem;
they sing still
within
hearts
who hold
the Christ child
dear. Do
you
hear the
song?

Christmas In July

It is no wonder why
Oh happy day in July
When I sing of peace and love and joy
I of’t recall the birth of Mary’s baby boy
Born that first Christmas day when angels did proclaim
“O Earth, to you, a savior born; Jesus is His name.”

Oh joyous day in July
When yards turn brown and get too dry
I read again the story Bibles tell
Not like the Christmas advertisers sell
I know a time angels to shepherds came
And sang, “…a savior born; Jesus is His name.”

Oh festive July day
When I take time to pray
I am glad the Christmas spirit still remains
As I lift my voice with sweet angelic refrains
Christmas came years ago from heaven above
God’s gift given; precious Jesus, wrapped with love.

Country Christmas

“Country Christmas Carol” --- dedicated to my family

by Miriam McCue (creator of flamingo art, & poetry.so far.)

We love to sing Christmas songs,
My Grandson Bubba and I.
And when we sing Country Christmas.
We almost make the angels cry.

A Merry Country Christmas
To all those great Country Folk,
And even to the City Slickers,
Who also love to drink and smoke.

We’ll take a drink for Bubba, Aunt Mike and Cousin Jim,
And hope that this Christmas,
They’ll say a prayer and sing a hymn.

Gather round the still,
Country People all.
 And hold up Uncle Bill
So the old coot doesn’t fall.

A Merry Country Christmas,
One full of country joy.
Little Willie wanted a 12 gauge,
But all he got was a toy.

Another Little Mozart

One afternoon Martha the mother of Jack, who was in her early eighties, told an amazing story about her son while having coffee in the parlor with her neighbors; it was a weekly gathering to discuss about the Holidays, or just gossiping about people they met at the supermarket or at the Pet store. She gently sat in her Queen Anne chair and leg-crossed, she started to speak. Her gaze went back to Jack's adolescent days when her home echoed with his exciting screams when he played with Snoopy knocking down every toy in his way. She didn't mind, as long as Jack was having fun. She opened her diary and stared everyone in the eyes demanding attention, then her story began while outside the first snowflakes fell on the road rekindling the Christmas spirit.
Jack, was such a smart cookie, perhaps a-would-be-genius. He taught himself how to play the piano by watching his mom. He sat right next to her learning simple melodies. His favorite was, " Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".
On Christmas Day while her mum was baking cookies for all the neighborhood kids who would stop by to play with Jack, something wonderful happened. She rushed into the living room and Jack was at the grand piano playing a beautiful melody, she recognized it and was behind herself. " How did you learn how to play? She asked him. " Easy, mom...I have been watching you for days and I have learned all the notes! " " But you are only eight! " She exclaimed by covering her mouth with her hands as Jack giggled, " Mom. aren't you going to give me a hug?" " Of course, I am so proud of you, and I can't wait to tell your dad! " She picked him up and hugged him tenderly like the cutest puppy who needed a reward for his good behavior. " O little Mozart, play your music until I die! " Her joy was overwhelming as if he had fulfilled a prophecy of a prodigious child.
A week later another amazing event occurred. Jack wasn't in his room playing with his firefighter truck and police cars, but instead he was putting notes on the staff. with a black pencil, he filled out the music sheet completely. His song was entitled, " Sweet Mom ". Being a novice, he chose the easiest key, which was C major. But the chords were missing and he hoped that his mom, who was a music teacher, would have put them above the staff to finish the song. He was certain it would be a hit song. Martha realized that her son did what Mozart did: when he wrote his first melody, perhaps out of whim, not knowing that he would become one of the most famous composers of his time.
Entering the room, she panicked not seeing Jack playing. " Jack, Jack, where are you? "
Her voice vibrated inside the quite bedroom. " I am here mom, I have a present for you!" " Oh, dear son, you got me worried...I thought you had gone out to play in the backyard with Jim next door! " " No, mommy...I was writing a song for your birthday! "
" A song for me?" " Yes , mommy...a song for the sweetest mom in the entire world! "
She glanced at it, and burst into a joyful cry, " O my god, you are a composer...another little Mozart! " " Thank you, Mom...I wrote it because I heard that songs make lots of money today, not in Mozart's day! " He exclaimed with childish, unrestrained joy. "
Last evening I overheard you telling dad that you needed money to buy a new car, and this bright idea came to me." " Thank you Jack, I accept this wonderful present from your beautiful heart! " And saying so, she gave him the most tender hug ever,
filling up his frekled cheeks with her happy tears.

Starbucks Song

There once was a company that brewed coffee
With lovely flavors like raspberry and toffee
     One year they made clear
     To remove all reindeer
Christians cry "Where's Holly Hobby?!?"

Sing a Song of Christmas - The Six Senses - Part 3

The Pies Are in the Oven (Smell)

The pies are in the oven. Oh!
Aroma greets my family,
Who rush downstairs with eyes aglow!
The pies are in the oven. Oh!
And Christmas cheer is sure to grow
When home smells like a bakery.
The pies are in the oven. Oh!
Aroma greets my family!

            Joy
(The extra special sense)

What night of wonder most profound
When Mary bore her baby boy.
Celestial light! Angelic sound!
What night of wonder most profound.
And shepherds who were gathered round
God’s precious lamb were filled with joy.
What night of wonder most profound
When Mary bore her baby boy.

Are You Ready For Christmas?

Are you ready for Christmas~have you lifted the tree
Are your lights through Christ shining bright~for everybody to see
				(everybody should see)

Your good deeds and your gifts of love~that you're presenting to Him
And they'll praise God above for His Son~the gift He's given to them

Are you ready for Christmas~will you surprise Him this year
With the harvest of love and faith~bidding others come near
				(bid all others come near)

To the banquet of Christ the King~don't let your candles grow dim
In the room of your heart prepared~because this day is for Him

Now are you ready for Christmas~carolling of His birth
Retelling Jesus' death to life~til He returns to this earth
				(He'll return to this earth)

With His angels and trump of God~forever we'll be with Him
So share this joy with the world like the shepherds of Bethlehem
