- Haiku X 23 - Christmas 2013 -

           Finally perfect
           high in the top the green tree
           The christmas star shines

           The lights are shining
           all the children should sleep now
           Christmas  tomorrow

            No children crying
            a night with good sleep sweet dreams
            Gifts under the tree

                                The wish is old and yet so real.
                              A peaceful Christmas I wish for you !

CHRISTMAS MIRACLES (five haiku

nearly twelve o’clock
our tabby opens one eye
distant   “Oh  ho  ho!”

this one special night
the hen house door stands open
wily fox retreats

some little green men
from God knows where see the light
       bow in silent prayer

meanest man on Earth
on his camel hears the babe
vows eternal love

he trusted the Star
when the shepherd left his flock
wolves    by Star    transfixed

And blissful New Year.

CHRISTMAS HAIKU

Midnight mass
Christmas rites;
Peace on earth

~~~~~~~~~
Downtown lights
Dressed for Christmas;
Goodwill atmosphere
~~~~~~~~~

Church pews full
Congregation at ease;
Peace for our time

~~~~~~~~~
Say a short prayer
For world peace;
Smiles abound
~~~~~~~~~

Greetings and meetings
Fine foods and liquor;
Festive spirits

~~~~~~~~~
Mistletoe dance
A loving glance;
Christmas kisses
~~~~~~~~~

Christ the reason
For the season;
Love abides

~~~~~~~~~
Stroke of midnight
Christmas Day moods;
Jolly and bright
~~~~~~~~~

Dear God we pray:
May each soul feel
Love Godspeed

~~~~~~~~~
Twinkling lights
Decorated tree;
Joy sublime
~~~~~~~~~

By this old church
Memories spring;
Christmas highlights

~~~~~~~~~
Virgin Mary cradles
The new born Christ;
Humble hearts rejoice
~~~~~~~~~

Another Christmas
To celebrate love;
Goodwill to all men

~~~~~~~~~
Cheer sings profound
Of truth and love;
Christmassy moods
~~~~~~~~~

Dance and sing,
Shout out loud;
Merry Christmas

~~~~~~~~~
Joy comes to heal
The way we feel;
Love most surreal
~~~~~~~~~

May each day
Be a good day;
Come what may

~~~~~~~~~
Man be not proud
Just sing out loud;
Hope springs eternal
~~~~~~~~~

5 haiku from Christmas day

Christmas Day-
lone tire planted in the soil
under a willow.

Awake in the night-
Oh lover
I'll cover you.

Peering out window-
tall Crane stands over thick Hawk
awaiting a meal.

Shaved lamb to skin-
Winter morning leaves red spots
on its back legs.

A field of motionless
Windmills- Sun sets
gently to their backs.

From Beginning to End Haiku

From Beginning to End Haiku

So must I ask you
Have you written a haiku
To put on our tree.

Is superimposed
Spirit on me as I dosed
Now free from all foes.

Leaves did fall from tree
Now we have humility
In land of the free.

Winter now was here
And we should be of good cheer
Shed a happy tear.

A welcome event
Wondering where fall had went
Winter glad God sent.

Born in a manager
To us is not some stranger
Saved us from danger.

Christ Child He did cry
Christmas am enchanted by
For our sins will die.

Isn't that what it is all about?
You can consider each three lines
separately or treat and read them
collectively.
