When Jesus Christ was Born

Stars have never told a lie when wise men look unto the sky.
Messages from God on high, of happiness his angels cry,
Soon dawns a blessed morn.
Wise men travel through a land
with stately camels over sand,
Their caravan majestically grand
When Jesus Christ was born.

Shepherds watching over sheep, baby lambs they safely keep.
Some of them were fast asleep on a mountain rough and steep,
Soon dawns a blessed morn.
An Angel to these men appear
Saying they should have no fear
For the Christ child is now near,
When Jesus Christ was born.

To Bethlehem they journey long, Joseph with his love so strong,
Mary with child had done no wrong; the baby did to God belong
Soon dawns a blessed morn.
This baby comes to save from sin
No rooms were found in any Inn
A stables all they found for him
When Jesus Christ was born.

A star shone brightly overhead, lighting up this humble shed,
A lowly manger for his bed, the joyful news had quickly spread
When dawned that blessed morn.
Here wise men came and gifts did bring
Shepherds bowed to their new King
Mankind rejoices while angels sing
When Jesus Christ was born.

Don't Stress Christmas

The northern skies are turning gray --
Seems the sun just doesn’t linger.
Christmas is just a month away,
And the nights are getting longer.
That Thanksgiving spent with family—
A briefly pleasant holiday—
Was forgotten all too quickly
By pushy crowds on Black Friday.

Our gift checklist seems like old Saint Nick’s,
But our staff is lacking Elves.
Shopping trips cause daily panics.
I wonder how we’ll feed ourselves.
We must buy more decorations,
So the yard looks like it’s snowing.
We fall deeper in depressions
As our credit keeps on growing.

Lord forgive commercialism
For ruining every Christmas.
Lord forgive consumerism
For dumping on us all that stress.
December is a dreary time,
Even when little angels sing.
The irony of Christmas time
Was that Christ was born in the Spring.

While standing in the checkout line,
Remember what the carols told.
Think of how Bethlehem’s star once shined,
As Israel’s prophets foretold.
Think of the awe of the shepherds
When they saw angels fill the air.
Coming to the stable, entered,
To meet the Holy Family there.

Instead of spending all you have,
Next November and December,
Spend time with all of those you love,
And teach them what to remember.
"A Savior born in Bethlehem"
Should bring us joy and happiness;
And “ Peace on Earth, goodwill to men”
Should set us free, not bring us stress.

That Most Blessed of Nights

“O my husband, it’s been a long trip,”
The voice was soft and almost pleading.
“It won’t be long now, my Dear”
Joseph glanced tenderly up at his wife.
She sat atop a shabby-looking donkey
Her outer garments pulled tightly about her body.

The City of David – Bethlehem – House of Bread
What a suitable beginning for the Bread of Life
Neither of these two weary travelers
Really understood the full weight of these events
They simply trusted the God who had spoken
“You shall call His name, Jesus.”

It seemed so unreal to them both
That the ancient Words would be fulfilled
In their insignificant lives.
Joseph and Mary – two incredibly ordinary people.
I’m sure that Heaven filled with laughter
As the angels pondered the irony of such wisdom.

As they entered the city, darkness was descending
Fires and lights flickered throughout the streets
And the tired donkey stumbled over the stones
“Lodging, please?” was the repeated appeal
The answer always the same, “No room.”
No room – then or now – for Heaven’s Son.

Finally – a small, dark stable on the town’s edge
No furnishings except straw and rough mangers
And yet, on that most blessed of all nights
God’s eternal plan began to unfold
Looking like an ordinary child – but oh my
The Creator of the universe arrived.

The star blazed brilliantly filling the sky with light
The Light of the world had come at last.
“Behold!” shouted the heavenly messenger
“Come see what Jehovah has done”
The shepherds quivered and trembled
As songs of praise and adoration rang out.

Running joyfully to Bethlehem
The first visitors to see the newborn King
Untidy, lowly workers of the fields
But hearts aglow with the wonderful message
No gifts except themselves
Exactly what God still desires.

Wise men from afar
Believing the prophecies they had found
Came bearing precious gifts
And rejoiced in what they found
How sad, the wise and rich of Jerusalem
Missed the events of that most blessed night.

Behold! – Immanuel! – God IS with us!
That’s the glorious story of that most blessed of nights.
Not only millennia ago – but now, today, tonight
God sent His only Begotten Son – for you, for me
That we might have everlasting life!
What gift will you bring to Heaven’s King? Yourself?

A Stranger After Dark

I was sitting on the back porch ‘bout an hour after dark When I couldn’t help but notice a tiny pulsing spark. I thought it was a firefly – It had that kind of glow But I’d never seen the likes of it – what it was I didn’t know It flittered to and fro just like a firefly does I went into the backyard to determine what it was. Just as I approached the place I thought that it might be It flew right up and landed very close to me. Soon I realized it was no ordinary find. What happened next you won’t believe – it nearly blew my mind. A Lilliputian creature stepped from this tiny craft Right then and there I was aware of questions I should ask. He must have been aware of the fear he’d caused in me. I could see my hands were shakin’ -- never thought I’d be set free. His tiny voice became quite clear and in a most convincing tone He said, “My friend, be not afraid – I‘m here all alone.” He appeared to be confused a bit and why, I’ll never know But the fear that he had fostered was about to let me go. He began to tell his story; I let out a sigh I knew I’d better listen to this little guy. Now, he was small in stature; ‘bout a half inch, nothin’ more – Why, I believe that he could pass through the space beneath the door. . He then began to tell me – It must sound like a dream. He was here because of some wayward sunbeam. “I race Haley’s comet to the far side of the sun.” He said, “The race is always over before it has begun. There is a reason for these victories, you see My good ship Omnipresence, right here in front of me.” “Time and space,” He said. “Are always at my command. I can do more things with them than man can understand.” He said, “I spin the rings of Saturn, create firmament at will I flew a mission of atonement to a very special hill.” I asked, “Do you know Jesus? He died upon that hill.” He said, “When all things are settled, everybody will. I led three wise men to him that cold and wintry night The shepherds were there to witness a miraculous sight So you ask do I know Jesus? -- it fills me with such mirth -- This very craft was hidden there at the moment of His birth. I was there to hear the angels when they sang out on high. Yes, I’d say I know Jesus, That’s why I’ll never die.” Written By John Posey 12/18/12

Snow

Snow sprinkles the ground

as delicate as sugar

crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage

only found in the heart of a child's imagination.

Like happiness it can melt in your hands,

and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on

Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth

hugging till the land soaks in it's providence

white like the pages I battle with

Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground

And when it lands,

A blanket of perfection

glistening the season to a crisp

gently the sun arises

"there's no where to go today,

I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

His Beauty Revealed on Christmas Day

As the snow falls around me, I marvel at God’s wholesome and worthy entity. The Lord, on his special day, has given me a gift so precious and special; He has opened my eyes to his wondrous glory. The Lord above all has allowed me to see the beauty in the smallest of things: The stars and moon at night, and the clouds and sun by day; The little trickles of freezing cold, yet clean, fresh, clear water Running down the mountainsides, quenching my insatiable thirst; The trees in all their grandeur, That provide my warmth when I gather their branches; The leaves and pine needles at my feet, Providing soft beds for me and all the forest creatures. Best of all of these, however, is the snow. The beautiful snow in which no two snowflakes are the same. The same biting cold, yet strangely comforting and fulfilling snow, In which brings forth light on the darkest of days. I must thank the all-loving God, who has bestowed upon me this glorious gift. Me, a pathetic excuse for a soldier who has run away From the sight of bloodshed because I cannot stand to fight another friend. Me, a coward who is now running from the law, And living solely in the forest for fear of being caught and hanged. Me, a God-believing man who has sinned greatly. But I have repented. I have asked God for forgiveness of my sins on Christmas Eve night, And He has replied by giving me snow on Christmas morning, showing me that I am not alone, and that I should not be afraid. And, by His grace, when all I have been seeing was darkness and despair, He opened me up to allow me to see the beauty and light in all his creation. “I praise You, oh glorious God, for giving me this most wonderful gift! I thank You for forgiving me, a sinner, of all my wrongdoings, and for giving me this awe-inspiring gift, for which I have done nothing to deserve! I exalt you on high, oh Lord, for all that you have done and given me, and will do for me and give me! I will love and praise you always! Amen.”

Alive

I traveled the world
And though it is vast
I still need a truth
That would always last

Studied some books
And know my mind too
The whole time God knows
Only love will do

Studied Religion and
Forever I found
Even God loves Love
On this I expound

My Mom in my life
Always there for me
Taught me that true love
Would there always be

Love doesn't judge man
And I'm very free
From color or type
Of good company

True love doesn't die
"Oh Love, you'll abound,"
Despite all the bad
You'll stand your ground

Love's the Law for me
We are always free
Love keeps me alive
This is Love's decree.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

A Single Leaf Out of A Tree

A single leaf,
Falls out of a tree above me,
 As it twist and turn,
The wind blows it in my direction,
It symbolizes the ending point of my
struggles and all my pain,
It tells me that they twist and turn,
But never remain,
It takes a sudden fall next to me,
But why?
It symbolizes the thought of being
alone,
It tells me that someone is always
by my side,
As I write,
The leaf flies away,
As if it had a huge success in
incouragement,
Nature communicates with us in
many ways,
Not with words,
But with a single leaf out of a tree.

THEY BELIEVED IN THE SAVIOR

The were the three Magi with mantels and beards, traveling
on strong camels as far as Bethlehem and having
seen a wondrous star, they began their long journey
by bringing precious gifts, but they warned Joseph and Mary
of Herod's malicious intent...so they fled to Egypt
on a donkey that never complain of a sore hip!

They believed in the Savior as Herod himself full of pride,
and being very wise, they never returned
to tell him what kind of child they had found!
They brought their gifts and knelt at a child
whose fate as foretold was to die for us all,
and he gladly accepted them hearing His Father's call!

Not having heard from the Wise Men who had lied to Him,
Herod sent his soldiers to kill all children under three: screams terrorized Bethlehem;
no, they weren't moved by their mother's painful cry
and shedding their innocent blood they revenged that lie!
O mothers of Bethlehem, Jesus knew that they were slaughtered because of Him!
O mothers of Bethlehem, you wept and moaned as they bled as a sacrificial lamb!

They believed in the Savior from what they had read,
and wanted to see for themselves the glorious event that Daniel spoken of:
the brightest star shining over Bethlehem as angels sang,
announcing Christ's birth in a small town groping on a hill of citrus and clove!

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

The Promise

When meanings have been broken,
When your cross has been uncrossed,
When the reasons that you gave me,
In the labyrinth have been lost.
When your house has been emptied,
When your bedroom is swept clean,
I will come and wake you,
From your long and endless dream.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

    CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
I keep saying Merry Christmas,
Xmas just don't mean it.
Christmas without Santa Claus
is alright by me.
----chorus
Part of your Christmas lights
are Jesus, and you and me.
He's in every Merry Christmas
You'll ever hear from me.

I keep saying Merry Christmas,
Xmas has no feeling.
I keep thinking Santa Claus
Should come another night.
---------chorus
Part of your Christmas lights
are Jesus, and you and me.
He's in every Merry Christmas
You'll ever hear from me.

I'll keem wishing Merry Christmas.
I'll keep hoping Merry Christmas.

In his Arms

A story of Faith..
How does anyone explain why they believe the Faith they have .
I can only tell you through the eyes of a 5yr old child .
That child being myself

so let me rewind a bit in time .
It was preschool to 1st grade , I would fall into a vegetable state at school , with my head down on the desk .
My Mother was a very talented RN and worked in triage at St. Francis Hospital
She would take me to the best of Pediatrics , only to be told ," take her home give her a aspirin, if fever gets to high , and call us in the morning .

All I can remember is this.

I was laying on my Mothers bed as from the ceiling it appeared a man that resembled "Jesus Christ ' and his Angels , 6 on each side lifted me from the bed in his arms , and took me to a place of warmth , light and love like I have never felt before since.

I was held by him as he said , you can stay here and no longer feel pain , or you may go back. I wanted so badly to stay , but I thought of my Mothers tears , and I was sent right into my little body again only to miss that feeling I had my whole life "in His Arms "

I got up out of bed , walked to the living room , where I saw my Mother in the distance baking .' The Grinch whom stole Christmas ' was on TV. I then noticed a tree all lighten up with decorations, I walked towards my Mom with a blanket in my hand .

My Mom turned and she had a plate of cookies , her face white as a ghost . I asked her " Mommy , Is it Christmas ? " she started to cry , and held me as she said " Yes Honey , it is , it is Christmas Eve. " as her tears hit my shoulder . I then asked " Why are you crying ? " Santa Claus is coming ! " I replied, as happy as a little 5 yr. old could be.

I was taken to a Chiropractor that week ,as a last result , He told her it was simply a miracle I was alive . My Spine was out of place and no Oxygen was going to my brain , in one or 2 days , I would be brain dead.

I found out later in my life at 18 yrs. old , it was shaken baby syndrome . My Father confessed to me as he to cried , at his Moms home at Christmas time . He had carried the guilt with him for years . He was a born again Christian , and a new life he had wanted with true forgiveness .

I forgave him , I know the man whom lifted me was Jesus Christ that night , and there is nothing ugly at all there , so I know he to forgave him .
Since then ..I have never doubted , I know he goes by many names , It is Jesus Christ all the same .

Humility Perfected

The Great “I AM” that could not stand
Yet held the fate of man in hand.
Jehovah Jireh laid to rest
Upon the milk of Mary’s breast.
The Prince of Peace of priests despised
Would heal the lame and open eyes.
Infant, holy radiant infant
When God became a babe.
Through Christ, a way to God had come
And hope’s foundation laid.
Who scarce can ascertain the depth
And wonder of His birth.
Humility perfected,
When Jehovah came to earth.

The Cradle And the Cross

The Cradle And the Cross ” 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matt 1:20-21 NIV The cradle of Christmas Has no meaning without the Cross. The babe we celebrate at Christmas Was born to win us back from loss. Part heavenly yet part human, This gracious Christmas gift, Was given to save mankind; Redeem the God-mankind rift. The Cradle and the Cross Show us God’s great love; Reveal his glorious power And his life over death from above. They give us great hope for a future— A hope that cannot die. When we acknowledge the Cradle and the Cross; Upon Christ’s life and spilt blood we rely. From Christmas to Easter We’re reminded of the Cradle and the Cross; The sacrificial life of God’s Son, That his own people sought to toss. The Cradle and the Cross Were prophesies of old. God’s child was born unnoticed by most, Yet worshipped with incense, myrrh and gold. The Cradle and the Cross Bring forth glorious hope; Show us that there’s nothing Beyond God’s power and scope. They give us reason for joy And peace in our hearts to reign. May the goodwill of Christmas Be with all on earth to proclaim! Christmas Carolers

         CHRISTMAS CAROLERS
Come list' my dear to Christmas, 'tis the sound
of children's voices ringing soft and dear,
it calls to mind some hope may still be found
within a world that lives in constant fear.

Oh what a change the world's been going through
since first we met one winter Christmas eve,
and all I ever had, the gift of you,
is all I ever needed to believe

that peace on Earth would be all of our days
and now just hear these children sing along,
perhaps we judge them harshly, in some ways,
for don't they seem the picture of their song?

How could one think our children do not care,
when there's so much of Christmas they now share?

For You And Me

It was for you and me ,
That Jesus left His throne,
Bore the scourge and agony,
Shivered His flesh and bone,

It was for you and me,
He took the awry tour,
Towards the dreaded Calvary,
Summed His tortured hours,

It was for you and me,
That Jesus bore the cross,
Paid the greatest penalty,
That death supposed be ours,

It was for you and me,
He wailed the gloomiest cry,
It was for you and me,
Jesus was nailed to die,

Oh, that you and I may see,
Our wickedness beyond measure,
Jesus to set us free,
In our stead bore the torture,

His love mysterious great,
Knocks the door of all men's heart,
His mighty power recreates,
Renews our lives whole to restart,

It was for you and me,
When on the third day death sufficed,
The savior left His grave,
Victorious he arised,

He rose back to His throne,
Sitting by His Father's side,
Prepare! He's coming soon,
Today is to decide,

christmas

ooh Christmas Christmas
You have gone and come again
The time of the year when our pain
seems to fade away
A time of the year when we remember the divine providence
The period when all we do and say makes so much sense

ooh Christmas, you have come at last
emanating joy, love and peace in our hearts
even though these type of feelings are scarce
A season of merriment
A season bringing forth excitement
I remember my childhood song -jingle bells

Ooh Christmas, a season of worship
A time to render help to someone in need
And we know by doing this good deed
We are planting seeds
Which will be multiplied back to us
Christmas,christmas,christmas
A time we recall the birth of someone so precious
Ooh yes,a time we remember the birth of Jesus
The messiah
The prince of peace.

Christ Child

In eternity past, the Father asks the Son to go down.
Having equal Love for humans the "Yes" comes fast.
When Creation leads to time, the world waits for 4 BC
Marking the start of the end of Satan's long rule at last.

Did Satan laugh at the poor setting for Jesus' birth here?
A cry in a cave for animals pierces the night, changing all.
Shepherds worship; later wise kings give precious gifts.
Mary and Joseph marvel, yet Herod's rage soon gives a call.

A call to leave quickly to Egypt where they'll live as refugees.
Sparing the Christ child a merciless death of those under three.
When Herod finally dies, Jesus' parents head back to Israel.
Still not fully safe from mad rule, Nazareth is their destiny.

Here the child will grow to be a man, following His parents rule.
Surprising the Pharisees with His wisdom at 12, at 30 riling them.
Preaching with authority, healing the incurable, loving the humble.
Women weep repenting at his feet; one's healed by touching his hem.

Zacchaeus risks going into a tree and finds Jesus' salvation so free.
Nicodemus comes at night to ask and ends amazed he's met God's Son
The Woman at the Well gets far more vital water than the usual kind.
And many healed can't but tell others of the miracle God has done.

The babe in the manger now stills the storm and his disciples believe
Even seeing the dead arise, like Lazarus in the tomb for four days.
Foretelling a greater rising coming but not before immense suffering.
The sword Mary was told would pierce her heart is soon on its way.

For most religious leaders cannot tolerate Jesus' lack of respect for them.
Calling them whitewashed tombs and pointing pride out to Pharisees.
Not endearing Himself with the establishment, but following God's way.
Knowing soon He'd be betrayed, arrested, tried and tortured brutally.

Still, he calmly feeds them body bread and blood wine in a final feast.
Tells them the Spirit comes, and prays they'd be one like Father and Son.
Heads to the Garden, prays to His Father for another way if possible.
Your will be done ends and the soldiers come and with Judas kiss it's done.

The most pure, innocent Man who's ever lived is now in hostile hands.
A trial by dark without witness or any rights – and off to Pontius Pilate.
Then Herod then back to Pilate whose wife dreamed Jesus was innocent.
But the people's cries to crucify win over – Jesus caught in intrigue's net.

The child of Bethlehem now hung on a Cross between two criminals.
The Light of the World by darkness and our sins is being slowly slain.
Feeling forsaken by God, but then "Into Your hands I commit my spirit."
Reunited and soon to show the world that this Child was no ordinary one.

Risen as Jesus predicted, for how can death conquer everlasting, perfect life?
From childhood to adult not one sin, not once yielding to Satan's temptations.
Proving we can have life eternal if we confess and believe in Jesus as our Savior.
Calling His followers in risen form to await the Spirit and share Christ to the nations

O Little Town of Bethlehem

O Little Town of Bethlehem “2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” Micah 5:2 NIV O Little Town of Bethlehem, Prophesied from ancient times of old, As the place where Christ was to be born; Worshiped with frankincense, myrrh and gold. The simple birth was unnoticed By most who lived there. They didn’t see the bright star in the heavens— Of this birth were unaware. If it hadn’t been for the angels, Who visited the shepherds that night, And for the wise men who sought Him, His birth would have lacked sight. His own hadn’t studied their Scriptures, So were ignorant at the time, That in the Little Town of Bethlehem, Salvation was delivered as human yet divine. God uses the simplest things To confound the so-called wise; Pagans to announce a Savior— Only God Himself could devise. O Little Town of Bethlehem, How important you became; Not important to men on earth, But prophesied by God by name. O Little Town of Bethlehem, No inn could you provide For the most important birth In the whole of this world wide. Although you were considered insignificant, You were chosen by heaven To be the place of Jesus’ birth— The greatest gift to man God-given. © Copyright 2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com From my Christmas Edition of Poetry to Touch Your Heart & Soul [Christmas Edition]

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries.

Epochs apart, yet,
bound by conscience,

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

Enduring the whispers of time,
through creeds professed,
sermons preached,
and a million sins confessed.

Though,

the essence,
of these banished revolutionaries,
is ceremonially muted by ritual,
and gleefully crushed under,
grandiose edifices,
that serve Religion Inc.

"And the meek shall inherit the earth",
an incendiary thought,
conveniently discarded,
for the pie in the sky that must be sought.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
stings.
stabs,
whispers still,
for us to hear,
through the din of the cacophony of prayer.

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
persists,
each day that we choose,
to shun the meek,
and mouth conscience-salving prayers,

DECEMBER

December resonates throughout the earth
Echoing the advent, the holy birth, of a
Child long ago with frankincense, myrrh and gold, He
Embraced a life of charity and sacrifice, if all be told
Miracles he performed; many lives He has reformed
Blessed is the season and the spirit which has
Engaged the whole world in a conspiracy of love, as we
Remember that child born to save the souls of everyone

Wise men at Christmas

Earth has grown old
Angels veiled the sky
And night has gotten cold
To put to sleep the stars on high

Wise men saw a star
And found a treasure of I Am
Shepherds heard a voice from a far
And found their lamb

Wise men came from the east
In search of a new born king
They came to worship a new born priest
With glad tidings they begin to sing

They bowed and worshiped Him
Offering treasures of gold, incense, and myrrh
And to the new born King they hymned
As they sang the sleeping child began to stir

Wise men came down to worship
They came to share love divine
It was an awesome and intense courtship
In Bethlehem “wise men at Christmas” making the headline

Snow From God

snow falls lightly
from the sky up above
soflty falling down
like the feather of a dove

each snow flake is different
like each one of us
falling to the ground
like snow often does

it's steals away breath
this brilliant thing
so pure and refreshing
like the songs angels sing

they sing for remembrance
of God and his sun
throwing down these white tokens
to say winter has begun

white is for birth
the birth of baby christ
white is for hope
that things are alright

each flake that falls
from the sky up above
is a gift from God
telling us we are loved

So many candles to see the light

Like joyous green of summer, my heart is singing filled
With you, while winter`s white is witness of good willed;
The glass works and the hot red wine spreading light:
Comforting carols “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Comforting thoughts of good like good miners,
And cakes a lot with names of saints and sinners
Looking the heart of sweet cherries strudel under the sight

Of mother humming “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Smoldering embers and feeling like hot chocolate
With scent of incense offered to every Christian mate
Under the new temptation of good and hope of right

Teaching of church on “Silent Night”,under “Brad Frumos”

The sacrifice of the pig, a ritual Symphony in red,
At the other side of modal logic, with wine and bread
And slaughtered pig and soured soups that might

Be prepared and savored on "Silent Night" ,near “Brad Frumos”

The aromatic smoke ascending, and dancing heavenly
Like our attempt to preserve and conserve not only
The clay and flash creature but also the inner light

And so many candles to see the Light on “Silent Night”...

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Christmas comes but once a year
a blessed celebration we all hold so dear
of the birth of our Lord Jesus
who is the reason for the season
                    we celebrate in many ways
                    each in our own way
by giving gifts to family and friends we love
                    with open hearts we share
it’s the season to express and show your happiness
singing songs of peace, love and joy
sleigh bells ring and children sing
the wonderful Christmas songs of the season
as angles fly through the air
Christmas trees with lights all aglow
homes decorated all in a row
waiting for Santa Claus to show
Christmas is all about love an fun
from special candies to food and such
all the goodies we love to eat so very much
to share our love for the one
                    who was born this day
to bring about peace and harmony
                    for all of history
our lord Jesus in Heaven up above

Christmas Season

Holidays, Oh Happy days.

Celebrated by many race.

It increases your belly waist.

Lots of food that is fun to taste.

Cakes and salads with beers in case.

Chips and pringles, nutella with lays.

Colorful cards and gifts with lace.

Snow is pouring in every place.

I wont let my time will waste.

I'll spend it by giving Him praise

Bow to our King and seek His face.

This contains love, every line and phrase.

What If Christmas Never Came

What If… Christmas Never Came??? What if Christmas never happened? What if Christmas never came? Things around here would be different! It wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger! If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.” It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” They worry they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Once again! We need to put Jesus Christ back into our CHRISTmas season! He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason! May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth. May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth! Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration! We need him so much right now! All over this great nation! May we bring to him a heart of love for everything he’s done. As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son! May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise! Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days! By Jim Pemberton

Dark Christmas

3 am.
The alarm clock in my head wakes me with a
silent clanging.
Outside, the rain is falling so hard. It sounds like someone's
trying to break into my room.
Jesus.
It's Christmas Day.
It might as well be August 25th because the conversation in my head has not changed
since then. "You are a piece of shit."
I think of things I need to worry about, things I've worried about since August 25th and way before that.
My anxiety runs through my veins like hot chemo.
I stagger to the living room and stare at the half-decorated Christmas tree ...
gold balls weighing down one side. Empty green takes up the other. Oh, there are two figurines of kittens that I bought at a garage sale in Staten Island in 1998.
God. 3:10 am.
A whole day to spend by myself.
Not a fake friend in sight today, with their banal conversations about picking up their laundry or meeting at the gym at whatever time to do arms or back.
Just as well; I get a blank stare from them when I want to talk about chasing happiness or being childless at 53.
The TV is my savior. It pulls me out of myself.
Bing Crosby comes on singing "White Christmas." He's dancing
with those two impossibly shiny bleached blondes. And they all have those white, almost blue American teeth -- not one out of place.
12 pm.
I wake up on the couch and "White Christmas" is still playing; it must be a marathon.
Outside, the rain has turned to snow and there are two messages on my phone -- from Christian friends inviting me to their houses for the day.
It's tough being a Buddhist on Christmas. OK, so I know, as the Buddhists say, everything is OK as long as I let it be OK.
But this is one day of the year I don't want to "be."
I consider whether to shower. It takes 10 minutes to decide. I let the hot water run down my back, and I don't know if it's burning from the water or my nerve endings.
I don't want to face Christmas - but I have decided to join life and go to Cory's to see his kids, stare at the tree and eat some turkey.
I decide to take a Xanax, and I stick one in my pocket as assurance.
Maybe some of this gloom will yet lift from my heart.

Midnight at Blackfriars

Midnight at Blackfriars

The city spires are hidden,
It’s getting colder fast,
It feels as though we might have
Some snow this month at last.
The wind sweeps keenly through St. Giles(1)
The hour is getting late.
Fleeting forms across the scene,
Are making for the gate.

December is upon us,
The year is wearing thin,
Parishioners from town and gown
Now are gathering in.
Rosy cheeks are shining,
There’s a spirit of good will,
We’re coming in for Midnight Mass
The Christmas Eve Vigil.

Forgotten is the riot
Of Saint Scholastic’s Day,(2)
To celebrate the Savior’s birth,
We worship now and pray.
Conjoining with the acolytes
Dressed in cassock’s white,
We’re caroling together,
Upon the holy night.

A gallant in best evening wear,
Bow tie and cummerbund,
And a high-heeled damsel on his arm,
Is down from Summertown.
A staff nurse from the Radcliffe,(3)
Whose shift was at an end,
Was seated close beside them
Clutching at her friend.

There the widow all in black,
Who cleans the votive stands,
Holds her missal open
With stubby fingered hands.
She blends with the congregants,
Ignoring the celebs,
And is back up for the service
From somewhere in St. Ebbs.(4)

A student in thick sweaters
And ragged scarf of grey
Is seated on the furthest aisle
Hair all in disarray.
Across the nave the prayer chairs,
Range back in their rows,
Filling up with congregants
In coats and gloves and throws.

In from the rear the friars process
With candles all aglow,
Up the side aisle to the chancel,
Caroling as they go.
Above their heads upon the walls
Are stations of the cross,
Reminders set in stark relief
Of this night’s final cost.

We see the prior in chasuble
For the apse proceeding,
To celebrate communion
And give the sacred reading.
The greatest story ever told
Unfolds with familiar ring
Filling our hearts with the promise
Of Christ the new born king.

Then with the service over,
We make for the hall below,
Where cocoa and mince pies and sherry
Are served before we go.
Outside the snow is dusting
The chained bikes in the Fair,
Contented now we homeward fade
Through the Christmas air.

Merry Christmas In Heaven

Merry Christmas in Heaven
From all of us here
You're not forgotten on Christmas
Nor throughout the whole year
Your smile, your laughter
Your holiday cheer
Fill the air in this place
If I sit quiet, it's clear
Words can't express the sadness we feel
Though you're in Heaven without one single tear
I'll see you again behind golden gates
For Jesus is coming, I know it is near
Merry Christmas in Heaven
I wish you were here

Do we put Jesus in a Box contest

God came down and became a man
He wanted to fully understand
Since the consequence for sin has always been death
Jesus had to Indore our punishment up until his very last breath
He became the ultimate sacrifice
So all mankind did not have to pay the price
His 33 years on this earth science can fully prove, and his horrific death was recorded in history
The miracles Jesus performed, to a believer, hold no questions or mysteries
Many struggle with the concept that Jesus was God in man form
However, he did this so he could guide us through our life storms
God knew there was no other way
To save man from their future judgment day
He saw that humans had limited power
To resist temptation and be their own strong tower
So he sent his son to die for me and you
So we could live in heaven someday too
The only thing you must do is receive
Accept Jesus in your heart and truly believe,
Something so simple has become so hard,
For many in this world are deeply scarred
They question his goodness and question if he cares
For life can be extremely unfair
he never said we wouldn’t suffer pain
that the hurricanes would not saturate us with torrential rains
However He did promise he would give us peace
That we would walk through troubles with his release
He promises to turn it all around for our good
He has been misrepresented and misunderstood
There is a purpose for all who trust in him
He assures us that if you are his child, you win!
Yet, so many put Jesus in a box
Pull him out like old Christmas socks
Once or twice a year
go to church, say a prayer and then disappear
forgetting that God has feelings too
And that he is desperately in love with you
Many believe the lie that he is mad
That they are to damaged and have been too bad
They overlook that his love has never changed
Humans walk away from him, Jesus always stays the same
Don’t underestimate his grace and power
That can transform you in your darkest hour
You don’t have to believe me
Ask him yourself and you will see
You never know until you try
Don’t be ignorant; he is not just a theory in the sky
He is everywhere, at anytime
It is your wellbeing that is on his mind
So during this holiday season
Don’t forget to celebrate the real reason
The birth of Christ
Is what gives each person a chance at a new life
He is no respecter of persons, and he is not counting your sins
He’s waiting for you with his hand stretched out
Begging you to let him in.

All Over the World At Christmas

“10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.” Matt 2:10-12 NIV All Over the World At Christmas Gifts are exchanged. Some boxes are filled with luxuries; Usually small and for most outranged. They are wrapped in pretty paper, With decorative bows and ornaments; Placed at the base of Christmas trees, Laden with decorations of adornment. These gifts are merely tokens Of our love for relatives and friends; Chosen hopefully with much care— Happiness to potentially send. This tradition came from Bethlehem, So many, many years ago, When three wise men worshiped Jesus; Precious gifts the Christ-child to bestow. When we make God part of the giving, And acknowledge His great gift to us. We give praise to Him for the Christ-child— His gift of love so bounteous. God’s love is the greatest gift That we can ever receive. Let’s sing to Him Christmas carols of praise— A small token of thanks to conceive. All Over the World At Christmas The atmosphere’s filled with good cheer. Merrymaking and joy abound— Peace on earth’s spoken everywhere. Folk go to church to celebrate And sing praises to the Lord above; Show their appreciation of others, With gifts exchanged through God’s love. © Copyright 2012 Maureen LeFanue www.maureenlefanue.com

Christ's Mass

    CHRIST'S MASS
Dear holy child, I celebrate your birth,
and wonder at your bright and shining star,
that leads to needed joy of peace on earth
we all look for, and it is where you are.

So I will light some candles in your name
on Christmas morning, when I'm all alone.
I'll say a prayer into the burning flame
to thank you for your gift too few have known.

You are my bright and shining star, you know,
throughout my life, in everything I do,
the gift of love is all I have, and so,
I wrap my love in candlelight for you.
Amen

The Beast In His Lair

Copyright 2014 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
Poem By Thomas Lam Hsi

THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD...THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY...WHO ALONE CAN
SAVE FROM Satan...who plays 'all' roles...the devil...the 'Lord Jesus'...
the 'Father'...the 'Holy Spirit'...all 'Other Gods'...and 'alien gods'...HE...THE
LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF IS FULLY GOD AND MAN...AND HE ALONE...
IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD THE FATHER...and to an Actual Heaven!

Perfect in beauty, wisdom and honor,
An angel of perfection, until godless in dispair,
Immoral and corrupt, he was blackened forevermore,
A third of the stars, he brought to is lair.

From the gates of Heaven, to Mount Moriah,
A tortured son of God, will one day be a man,
In devious magnificence, every one turned pariah,
And the mighty hand of God, turns them according to plan.

Inflamed in his anger, the Beast waits in his lair,
Until his own Maker, raises this son of perdition,
Ensconced in his palace, he strokes his golden hair,
And waits in vain, as his God mover every partition.

He is nothing to contend with, a simple brush of air,
The Beast is consumed with magnificence,
He is led with his own tail, mindless and without care,
Until he is burned of his perfection, bereft of his brilliance.

A Reason To Believe

When in sorted times we have become complacent when
Shattered fragments left loose on their briars once again
In timeless plight we have a tendency to forget the night
The day is far spent while lived by sight;

A Reason To Believe
When shadows get loosened to its course of shape
We will wallow to reach the North in spiral fate
We live in mockery sent to the close of faith

With a cascading ship filled with fools going much too late
In crimsome tide ethced through the surface of my mind
I try to look yet today all is much too blind
As if animals going out on some desolate perch

Shades of black paint in its overt mask
What will ceil the case never to give anyone any flack
A fickle of Pine rested on the back porch ventured vine
We all must search the scriptures daily otherwise one is totally blind!

The child with a name

It’s fortunate to say
A mother named Mary became
And gave us a child with a name
And all on the earth
Were all to be treated the same
He stood as a stone
But was broken and torn
Just all the same

And some want to forget
And not to relive
Anymore of his pain
And not any of the blame
Who ask how is it before
You ever were born
You were already giving a name

They cannot believe
In anyway conceive
That any love you can give
Comes just from a name
Why stay in the dark?
You know just who you are
When in the beginning
The way was lit
For you all, by a star

Not to believe that love
And the promise of it
Comes just from a name
But still the message is true
That is for all of you
Treat everyone the same

To believe we should not
Will always be why
Many of our children, still cry
And to live and let live
Be happy to give
You won’t even try

It is fortunate to say
Mother named Mary became
And is here to remind us
As we all lose our aim
But to remember this day
A woman named Mary became
The one who gave us
The child with a name

Christmas Without Magic

Christmas without any magic,
Would be the darkest of days,
There wouldn’t be any presents,
Without the wonder of Santa’s ways,
The lights in the eyes of the children,
Would become as dull as the light-less tree,
Now standing outside in the garden,
And not in the house as should be,
There would be no cards on the mantle,
No messages from family and friends,
No reason to think of our loved ones,
Or for our faults make amends.

And without the greatest miracle,
Of our own dear Saviours birth,
There would be no hope for all mankind,
No peace for men on Earth,
No non-deserved forgiveness,
For the many times we fail,
And no happily ever after,
At the end of our life’s long tale.

Christmas Poems For Kids And Teenagers II: A Christmas Phone Call

Ring ring I called to Jesus He picked the phone and called my name I have some questions I said go ahead and ask, he said. Why isn’t Christmas celebrated everyday? Why can’t I get presents as often as possible? Why did you choose December for such moment of bliss? He answered with a gentle smile. I have made you the never fading hope the crown which you’ll glory in my presence I’ve filled your heart with Joy and gladness as often as you let me my grace for you is abundant which is renewed every morning and my love for you is endless and never bounded by time and yet you only celebrate me once in a year? Oh lord forgive me- I weep how can I celebrate you everyday? He said- Purify your heart and be clothed with a constantly renewed mind. This is the perfect Gift I seek. Oh Lord my God! my heart is all yours now and forever more. merry Christmas to me…………… merry Christmas to the world.

From the Womb

From the womb there is a life that wants to live
From the womb there is a life that has something to give
A life that may grow up to become a doctor
A life that may grow up to become a lawyer
Or maybe that life will write a novel like Tom Sawyer
But maybe that life won't happen
Because its mother has another plan
A plan to abort this unique life
A unique life that will undoubtedly become so special
So special in fact that it will bear the image of God
And God will want this life to have an important impact
On the many lives it will come into contact
But again the mother's plan is to abort this life, from the womb
So how do we convince this mother not to dump it in the tomb
The tomb that houses all the aborted lives throughout the years
And also contains from ten thousand angels their many tears
So if you can talk to this mother and tell her the life inside her
Is a life created by God and considered to be an important one
You will have done something very bold and brave
To turn her around, to give her baby a chance to live

Beasts on Two Legs

I heard a cry,

A lad of four bled

After having quenched

Her Dad's libidinal thirst

I saw the door open,

Brother and sister walked out,

Adam's forbidden apple having been eaten

As instructed in the blood-house of money

In New York I heard a cry,

Woman was on woman

While man and man got glowed

In the vastness of democracy and human rights

From Yaounde down to Abuja,

I saw exposed human breasts, stomachs

And laps in clothes made for whores

In lands where emancipation is madness

By 2035 while Camkingdom rises to shine,

Breasts shall hang out, our Mums shall go naked,

Eliminating unborns as ordained in Macputu... We are beasts on two legs!

the arab spring

The Arab Spring

Saddam Husain, Mubarak and soon Assad
will go… and we can be jubilant and call it
democracy and freedom.
But this does not include the Christians,
In Iraq there are hardly any left, in Egypt
they are under attack and when Assad falls
the Christian Arab will hounded, those who
are no able to escape…killed.
The rebels in Syria we now supply weaponry
to will, like they are doing in Egypt, be ready
to enforce their odious idea of Islam.
We, in the west must, if we are upright take
In the refuges and not let them fester in some
camps and fed by the Red Cross.
Give our Christian brothers a new spring, far
from the battlefield of hate and ignorance.

~Christmas Is Jesus Holiday~ (Rhyme) No matter what you say, His love is not far away, Even Santa knows is Jesus Day That's why Christmas, is here to stay. Though remember it's Christmas And not like another Holiday, I don't care what others say The Saviour, we celebrate this Day. I will always celebrate His B-Day He comes first than dear Santa Claus, Even Santa knows that and applauds He adores Jesus and for Him he pauses. Santa told me his heart is on fire For is Jesus he so admires And so much he desires, That's in Jesus we should all be inspired. Child of Heaven

You gaze at me with
Child’s eyes, yet I wonder
At all you have seen
Before you came here.
I sing you to sleep
But I know it’s nothing
Like the music you knew.
The meager bread and milk
Does not compare to
The glorious feasts you
Must have had before.
Nothing have I to
Offer that was not yours;
And when you wrap your
Hand around my finger,
I’m overwhelmed with humility.

God Gave in Order to Save

It is Christmas time, for what do I wish;
For what hope or dream does my soul anguish?
Is something from my list under the tree;
Something chosen especially for me?

I wonder what good things we’ll have to eat.
Apple cake with walnuts would be a treat.
Some peanut brittle or chocolate fudge,
In pecan pie with whip cream I’ll indulge.

I’ll hope to have my family gathered around
Opening gifts making a paper mound.
We’ll take a drive, enjoy tinsel and lights,
Make memories as we gaze on the sights.

Yet midst the holiday laughter and cheer
There are lonely masses living in fear.
Poor, worried, abused, tired, haggard, and spent
In search of cash to buy food and pay rent.

Where is hope for these lives torn and shattered;
Who live each day, depressed, weak, and scattered?
Perhaps abused by those proud and greedy,
Who use their labor yet leave them needy.

God promises good things to these oppressed,
His merciful love will not be suppressed.
The wealth of the rich will be adjusted,
God’s balancing justice can be trusted.

Others are trapped in our sin sick culture
Where dark sadness hovers like a vulture.
Guilty of trespassing, hence they must pay.
With so large a debt they wilt in dismay.

Is there hope for these who have misbehaved?
Is there any way their souls can be saved?
Is help on the way? Then let’s hear the story!
Tell me please, is there a word from glory?

Yes, to these lost, broken, sinful forgotten,
God sent his son, His only begotten.
From the crib to the cross his life he gave,
All our mistakes and failures He forgave.

We need not perish in this world of strife,
But with faith in Jesus have eternal life.
God sent His Son, the world not to condemn.
It’s Christmas, may the world be saved through Him.

Mary

                    Mary
Three hundred million years elapsed with black skies
Three hundred million more went on in gray
Then one day a tepid dawn came on with brilliant light
Distinct rays or beams of light broke through the clouds
A tiny sliver of cloudy blue shot through, contrasting on the gloom
In a sudden revelation of life and light, the sky broke open
The gown of the heavens turned vivid white and powder blue
Colors of the rainbow exploded on the land
The blue of sky, the white of clouds, are in fact the gown of Mary
She glided down and gently touched the oceans of the earth
When Mary reached the land she treads on serpents heads
With her naked foot she crushed them dead
She had a baby just in time for Christmas, like a perfect virgin
The timing could not be more precise
At Christmas time she had the baby Christ
One day I hope to call Him Dad
When Satan leaves the land and all is done
Then I will sleep in Mother Mary’s arms in peace
According to the plan

What If Christmas Never Came

UNSUPPORTED CODE What If… Christmas Never Came???

What if Christmas never happened?
What if Christmas never came?
Things around here would be different!
It wouldn’t be the same!

What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger?
Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger!

If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity.
We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.”

It’s almost like this now!
 It’s an “ever increasing business.”
It seems like nearly everyone wants
  “Christ out of Christmas!”

Why does it seem like Christmas is
 losing it’s true meaning?
The very words; “Merry Christmas,”
seem to be quickly disappearing!

Many say; “Happy Holiday.”
They worry they may “offend.”
Having a “holiday” without Christ….
Once again!

We need to put Jesus Christ back into
our CHRISTmas season!
He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason!

May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth.
May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth!

Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration!
We need him so much right now!
 All over this great nation!

May we bring to him a heart of love
 for everything he’s done.
As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son!

May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise!
Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days!

A Starry Night

It seemed like such an ordinary night,
But the sky was aglow with a heavenly light.
The star lingered near Bethlehem, a small town,
Its golden beams shining down.

A man and woman sought shelter for the night,
As the star shown ever more bright.
Her face was radiant as though she was crowned,
The Savior from Heaven was about to come down.

He who possessed such wondrous might,
Would arrive on that quiet, starry night.
And no one to worship would be found,
Except a few shepherds asleep on the ground.

They were awakened by the angel so bright,
Whose hearts were startled by such a sight.
“Go,” said the angel, “Into the town,”
“And there the Savior will be found.”

The shepherds wondered could this possibly be right,
But, how else could they explain their terrible fright?
They journeyed along the hard stony ground,
And a tiny Babe in a manger is what they found.

They rejoiced so at the magnificent sight,
As they returned to their folds in the darkness of night.
But, as they were homeward bound,
They told the story to all they found.

You too may come and worship Him tonight,
Jesus, the One who came to bring God’s precious Light.

The Daystar

The Daystar shines...

Gold for a King
Frankensence for a Priest
Myrrh for a Saviour.

The clouds gather...

Crown of thorns for a King
A seamless purple robe for a Priest
Sour vinegar on a stick for a suffering Saviour.

Then...

A throne for the King
Human temples for the Priest
Resurrection power for the Saviour

The Daystar shines in hearts...forever !.

Matthew 2:1 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

2 Peter 19-20 We couldn’t be more sure of what we saw and heard—God’s glory, God’s voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You’ll do well to keep focusing on it. It’s the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star (Daystar - KJV) in your hearts....

Merry Christmas & Happy Easter

fantasy

It annoys me
Thinking
Crying
I hate you
I don't like that gift
Take it back
You know what he wants
But you don't know I i want
You spend all your money on him
And spend only ten bucks on me
I gave up on Christmas
Because Santa wasn't real
We look up to him like a god
And that I don't accept
I don't believe in religion
Or in creations of Disney
I do not believe that Santa will show up
I don't believe god will show up
All these stories told by mankind
Are fake.
That's the end of Christmas
How about we live in real life
Instead of living in a fantasy

It's Christmas Time

It's Christmas time again
Santa's reindeer ride again
Time for folks to shine again
In colors of red and green.

It's Christmas time again
Little kids with hopeful smiles
Sit on Santa's lap awhile
And wish for toys only dreamed of
In their midnight slumber.

I have to stop and think sometimes
If we had Christmas all the time
Would we always be this happy
Or would it start to fade.

Would the lights still shine as bright
Would Santa still seem so right
Would we even take the time to
Contemplate a virgin birth.

So let's keep Christmas in December
So we'll always remember
The birth of our Savior
So gentle, mild and tender.

The Greatest Christmas Present

The greatest Christmas present came down from far away,
Was laid there in a manger upon a bed of hay.
Not wrapped with fancy ribbons, in paper or in bows,
But with some strips of linen that they call swaddling clothes.
There weren’t a lot of people to see it on that night,
And it wasn’t that unusual, but such a simple sight.
You see, it was a baby, born there in Bethlehem,
With nowhere else to lay it—the blessed Son of Men.
The parents were not wealthy, just plain in every way,
But oh, the child that lay there upon that bed of hay!
This child had come from heaven through special virgin birth,
Had come to save His people here in this sinful earth.
Some shepherds heard the message from angels in the sky
Who sang in a great chorus of this child from on high.
If you could just imagine the home this child had lived
Before He left His Father, this present now to give,
You’d wonder why He did it, why such a sacrifice,
To come to save lost sinners, on Calvary give His life,
Would you say as I now do it: “This is a present great,
I think I will now open this present and not wait”?
For look beyond that manger; a tree there now you’ll see,
Not decorated fancy, but placed on Calvary,
Its branches hold His arms there, its frame is soaked with red;
The blood flowed from His body as there He hung and bled.
Yes, the greatest Christmas present was God’s eternal love
Wrapped in this precious body that came down from above.
He took the wrath and anguish that we deserve today,
The hell we should have gone to to suffer there for aye.
And all because He loved us! My, what a present there!
The GREATEST Christmas present with you I gladly share.
Will you come now receiving this gift so great and free
That God sent down that morning from heaven for you and me?
Will you trust His forgiveness from all your sin and shame?
Oh, open now this present! And call upon His name!

Christmas Day Born

Christmas day is final come
To celebrate God's only Son
As He was born to save the lost
The sacrifice upon the cross
To remember that first Christmas day
He who lay upon the hay
So this Christmas look and see
And cherish the sweet memory
Of the babe born far away
On the first of Christmas days

Who is our gift
He came to the world to save us
He righted what was once wrong
He invites us in His goodness
He graces us with His presence
He will great things for our good
We know good from evil
Because of Him
We know right from wrong
Because He graciously shows us
We know insights and wisdom
Because He shares upon us
Great is our Lord
Who came to the world one day
And forever we are indebted to Him
We feverously grace His love
To one and to all
We honor His keeping
We graciously welcome His presence
We come to know Him
With grace and contrite heart
With our opened yieldedness
With our love and affection
With arrayed wildness
He tames us
He loves us
He offers us a great governing
He graces us with deeds
He inhabits in us
And makes His gracious presence known
He is good – so good
We can be
We can have
We can find
We can give
We can go
We can do
We can all win
Because of Him

By God's Decree

Emperor Augustus made a decree
No option was given to disagree
Each person must travel to their own town
To take the census ordered by the crown

The census occurred to figure the tax
Emotions were tense, no one could relax
Though family matters called for delay
Joseph made the decision to obey

They made the journey, Mary great with child
Up to Bethlehem, now busy and riled
Unable to acquire a resting place
A stable was located by God’s grace

In this environment, rude, cold, and cruel
A baby was born, a heavenly jewel
In that lonely barn smelling of manure
They fashioned a bed for this child so pure

In the atmosphere of Caesar’s command
The crowds failed to notice what God had planned
To accomplish a mission of high degree
God sent His son as heaven’s deportee

But to the shepherds on the hillsides near
A throng of singing angels did appear
Their voices could not hold back the story,
Of His majesty, purpose, and glory

This child would address man’s misbehavior
Through sacrifice, forgive, be our savior
Deliver us from sinful sways and strays
Bring peace to all who would follow His ways

The shepherds hurried to town with great glee
One so marvelous they wanted to see
Seeing, they reported all that they knew
Jesus is His name, He came to save you.

Great Love

How can Jesus love me so
A love with no end
Deeply rooted and grounded
Never bending with the wind.

Greater love has never been
Than the love Jesus shows
Love forgiving you and me
And great meekness He bestows.

Love extended to each and all
Whether strong or very weak
Even great, or even small
His love, you can always seek.

Jesus love will never fail
It is patient and very kind
Enduring and long suffering
and abideth all the time.

Part of the Plan

Part of the Plan

The fields were cold that long winter night
And I just shivered and shook
Then came a sound and a brilliance of light
So I turned to the sky for a look

The memories that’s made
Of the music that played
As the words rained down on earth
Of a baby that’s born
On this very morn
Our long promised savior’s birth

I laid my staff down
Hurried into the town
To search for this mother and child
When I found them I knelt
For I truly felt
My calling when that baby smiled

I’ll follow this boy
Through heart ache and joy
And stand by his side as a man
For I know even now
That somewhere, some how
I play a small part in his plan

Christmas rush

Christmas Rush

The sun was blood red looked like a big wound
on the flank of an elephant shot by poachers.
It dripped blood on white, woolly clouds which
slowly turned red as the bandage on a fatally
shot soldier who slowly died as his eyes turned
into a mirror of the cold sky. In the town, air is
torn into puffs of powder as a red ambulance
comes to an abrupt halt a man on a dirty floor
surrounded by presents for his family, his eyes
reflects the absurdity of a Christmas decorated
supermarket- his widow will be handed his gifts-
As I drive home a bag of night opens and strews
its soothing darkness over the land, but nearby
 an anguished elephant still trumpets.

Christmas Poems For Kids And Teenagers IV: Can Anything

Can something be more tempting Than new hot cup cakes? Can candies be as attractive and so loving as chocolates? Can a story be as appealing as the end of Cinderella’s tale? Or as exciting as my friends’ birthday parties? What about as cheerful as Barney and friends? The new dresses, the snow-white the season’s tree and family re-union as warming and perfect as they are it’s still not about them but about Jesus in Christmas Hallelujah! Christ the king is born today.

Mountain top

Mountaintops

Mountaintops –
Barren rocks,
Scrubby brush,
Nothing grows there.

Valley view –
From mountaintop,
Lush, green growth,
Teeming life.

People can’t grow on a mountaintop.
We grow in the valleys of life.
People can’t stay on a mountaintop.
We return to toil and to strife.

We Believe In Christmas

We Believe In Christmas

We believe in Christmas,
Though it may give some pause.
The special day of Jesus,
Not of Santa Claus.

What an awesome thing to ponder,
We are the lucky ones.
That God should send a Savior,
His Own Beloved Son!

The music of the season,,
Will fill your heart with joy.
The sound of heavenly angels,
Announce the baby boy.

Our homes are filled with laughter,
The lights they shine so bright.
As Peace and Love and Joy,
Greet this special night.

We gather all together,
Coming from near and far.
Families, friends and strangers,
Remember the special star.

We were born as sinners truly,
It is an act of God.
But sins were soon forgiven,
And this Christmas may we pause.

May you find the grace of Christmas,
To guide your daily lives.
The Spirit of Love in Jesus,
Given by God so wise.

We need the love of Christmas,
To fill our heart and soul.
Mid trials and tribulation,
God makes the broken, whole.

May the spirit of Christmas guide you,
And fill your life with joy.
Not because of Santa,
But for that Special Boy.

Christmas Choir

“A meeting of the choir tonight,” the message simply said,
Angelic hosts had heard the news, and some the message read.
“I wonder what this meeting means?” one angel in the choir
Said to another one nearby who had the same desire.
They knew they flew around the throne to praise God seated there,
What could this meeting be about? It caused them now to care.
And so they gathered in the street to hear the news that night
Just what their new song was to be as they met on that site.
As Michael stood there right beside bright Gabriel on the street
He pointed down at earth below where people went to meet.
“There! There it is! The place where we will sing
A message new to shepherds on the hillside we will bring.
The words are much like ones we know, we sing them here above,
But this will be God’s message now of His eternal love.
‘Glory to God in heaven above; peace on earth and goodwill’
The message that we’ll now proclaim to shepherds on that hill.
‘For unto you is born this day in Bethlehem so near
A Savior who is Christ the Lord is born; oh you don’t need to fear.’”
And so the Christmas choir that night sang out the song with glee,
And it’s a song to you today, and it’s a song to me.
I hope you’ve heard it and believed its message true and clear:
Christ came to save us from our sins—it’s one we need to hear.
That Christmas choir waits now above to sing out once again
When one repents and trusts the Lord to save him from his sin.
Oh come now to trust in the Lord and join the happy throng
Who’ll sing in heaven’s happy home when you to Chist belong.

when souls were saved
is it that date
I meditate!

A trampoline of hesitate
all up and down
acoustics rate
consumerism runs irate!

The children whisper
"don't be late"
It's still the please zone
in rebate!

As rhyme to rhyme
configurate
the need for joy within
ones state!

So sorry, I commiserate
go out and just
do celebrate
we're fools for action's remonstrate!

and still commune . . . . and complicate!

God's Christmas Greeting

GOD’S CHRISTMAS GREETING

With Christmas time here once again, I wanted something new,
A greeting you have never heard that I could say to you.
So, “Season’s Greetings” will not do, nor, “Happy Holidays,”
And, “Merry Christmas” is so old; it’s been said many ways.
It seems each year the world is worse with wars most everywhere,
So, “Peace on Earth” is so unreal a greeting now to share.
I wonder just what it was like that night so long ago
When people waited for a king—or did they really know?
They had no greeting there at all to give each other then,
For they were in a bondage deep to cruel Roman men.
Augustus spoke an edict that they all must make their way
To the home town where they came from to register one day.
They had no cars or airplanes there; they had to trek for miles
And evil men to look out for as they traveled all the while.
I wonder how poor Joseph felt with his new pregnant wife
And traveling from Nazareth through miles of stress and strife.
He had no good news that he could give to Mary as they went
To find there was no room to stay, each place had now been spent.
And it was now time for the child to make His greeting here,
So in a stable full of straw that greeting did appear.
As I think on this quiet night, it’s not really something new,
Or a greeting so unusual that I can share with you.
I know, you’ve heard it oft before, and yet it’s ever real—
It’s a NEW BIRTH that we can have and His salvation seal!
Joy to the world! The Lord has come! Let us receive Him now!
That silent night in Bethlehem where shepherds came to bow
Is when God so loved this old world that He gave us that day
His only pure begotten Son to take our sin away.
That gift of words to you and me is eternal life to all
Who come by faith in God’s dear Son and on His name will call.
So don’t look for some fancy words that man may try to say,
For many would just rather ban those words from us today.
But no one trying hard in might can change God’s greeting now,
For there is coming yet a day when EVERY knee shall bow.
The greeting then I give to you is one from Him above:
Trust God’s gift now of Jesus Christ sent to us from His love.

From Clarence E. Billheimer, “The Ready Writer,” Christmas 2014

christmas time

Christmas time
For many of us here
it's Christmas time once more
With tinsel and mistletoe
And sprigs of holly around the door
Brightly coloured fairy lights
Bedeck the Christmas tree
It makes it very special
To folk like you and me
But for some it's not so special
If theres no one in their heart
No one in their lives to love
No one person to be a part
It truly is a Christian thing
Although other faiths do join in
They don't know the importance
And yet it is fun for them to do
The birth of baby Jesus
Is the gift for me and you
We celebrate his birth each year
On December the 25th
It takes us from our hum drum way
And gives us all a special lift
We bring gifts to all our loved ones
Yes but the greatest gift of all
Is the little baby Jesus Lying in his stall

So please don't hate the others
Who do not appreciate our way
Our very special festival
Our Christian Christmas day
                                         Eros

ONCE UPON A TIME

Under the moon light we gathered;
Giving listening ears to grandpa’s trembling lips,
As serene dusk and silence embraced
Once upon a time onsets his tip.

There was the first garden of untold beauty;
A gift to the first man with overwhelming privilege,
 In which the first sin stunk humanity;
Engendering the first punishment as a badge.

Did the creator miss the creature?
Where else could they go in this plight?
These posers came like rapture,
While grandpa laughed to our naïve insight.

Still, he continued with an annunciation,
One Gabriel, one Mary in Nazareth;
Actors of act 1 scene 1 of salvation,
Here, faith steps on Everest zenith.

Nine months passed to zamani’s womb,
And the expected saviour came,
Gold frankincense and myrrh exchanged tomb
To seal Christmas fame.

Christmas Eve In Sarajevo - 1995

Christmas Eve In Sarajevo - 1995
The Christmas of her death was coming on
an innocent not knowing she'd be gone
and out of many thousands, she's just one
the world would never miss.

She talked to baby Jesus Christmas Eve
her mother and her father couldn't grieve
it's all that they could do but to believe
and give her one more kiss.

Oh! Holy child of Bethlehem, they sing
and out of faith that He will always bring
the peace that's only known with dying's sting
all of her life has come to this.

Multicultural Britain - An Unapologetic Statement

Multicultural Britain
(An Unapologetic Statement)

Two “Festivals of Light” there are
Each and every year
The Jewish have their Hanukah
And Hindus their Diwali cheer

The end of Ramadan brings Eid il Fitr
The Muslim fasting's passed
The Welsh National Eisteddford
Culture, craft, songs not surpassed

There is the pagan Betain
That Celtic Festival of Fire
And the famous summer Solstice
Stonehenge, druids and sun inspire

Halloween crosses boundaries
Between Christian and Heathen
Leading on into November
Honouring death and ghosts of men

But amid all this Britain is
A bastion of Christianity
While accepting all religions
They too should be made to see

That in our tolerance still we stand
With our ceremonies and feasts in tact
Our Lent, Easter and Christmas
This is a simple statement of fact

Please don’t tread upon these rights
Which we’ve defended for years
Don’t rename our traditions
And cause confusion or trite fear

The Godless in society
Can rant and claim new ground
But faith is our foundation
And that foundation is very sound

So it IS a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year too
The Scots can call is Hogmanay
Because they have and always do

It is a happy holiday
To all despite their creed
To each give them utmost respect
In thought and word and deed

But let us all remember
Respect is a two way street
Do not dictate our policies
Among people that you meet

This country was here before you came
And settled on these shores
This is the British way of life
That you’ve chosen, now, as yours

So let the religions flourish
And none to those who’ve none
And live in total harmony
Until our time is done

Poor Christmas

One dollar and eighty-seven cents, that was all
And sixty cents of it was in pennies
Pennies saved one and two at a time
By bulldozing the grocer and the vegetable man and the butcher
Until one's cheeks burned with the silent imputation of parsimony
One dollar and eighty- seven cents
And the next day would be Christmas

Christmas would be different
From the previous years
My dear baby Suzy would not get that new toy
That baby doll she thought looked so much like herself
My boy Tommy would not get the new train set
That we would set up around the Christmas tree
That the cat would try to catch with his paw
My lovely Julia would not get that diamond ring
She's been hoping for
The best I can do this Christmas
Is prepare a feast of bread and soup
With my one dollar and eighty-seven cents

Baby Jesus

You held my life in your hand
There I was in your palm as a child
I’ve never felt such a warm embrace
I’ve never since, such love from your grace

I remember very little from those nappy days
But I know you did everything to make them
Such happy days
You hold my hand now in yours
A firm grip, and still a loving gaze
And I now comprehend

For the road ahead in a gruelling test
Your love will carry me on this treacherous quest
Man is a creature of habit and not easily swayed
But Father please forgive them
And love them as you did your only child
