We Will Never Know

The sky was orange, red and peach
we strolled towards each other
on a deserted pebbled beach
a smile that got us talking
together slowly walking
till twilight crept unseen
then off reluctantly
on a deserted pebbled beach
we went our separate ways
but first a promise made
next day to meet in the same place.

The sky now yellow, mauve and blue
I stroll alone by water's edge
on a deserted pebbled beach
searching for a voice
a smile just out of reach
your presence unseen
where the surf briefly meets
the shore, only to recede
two souls forever out of reach
on a deserted pebbled beach
where a promise was made
and would break along the waves

was love not meant to grow?
we will never know....

raindrops dance

raindrops dance

The falling
raindrops dance, a
bearing wall
retains his memories
of years before,
constructing
solitude, invite his
soul
and form continuum,
above to soar.

Reminding paragon
among beach plum,
intently they
behold, when words
indite,
a skyward calling
are the raindrops'
thrum,
the mirroring of
stares and souls'
invite.

And as the raindrops
dance around and
jump
belike she comes,
'mid silences aboard
foreshadowing the
rainfall drops that
thump,
their night defines
again the winds'
accord.

Her grandness in the
mistle's waving
forms
a solemn cause
became of diamond
storms.

The Beach of Promises

The Beach of Promises

1.

Fingers entwined, barely touching,
turquoise waters teasing your dancing toes,

strolling along that serene deserted beach,
our promised dreams within aching reach.

2.

Hands clasped, holding on,
sea-breezes tickling the nape of your neck,

walking together, alone, vowing to never breach,
the dreams dreamed on that faraway velvet beach.

3.

Hands in my pockets, alone,
traces of you linger, teasing,

lost in my scribbles, your memory fading out of reach,

my thoughts ablaze, now and then,
catching a whiff of your fragrance,

wafting through alleyways of nostalgia,
your hand in mine on our pristine beach.

My Persian Queen

From the Gardens of Babylon,
to the walkways of Palestina,
to the grand temples of Jerusalism,
to the sandy beaches of Syria and Cyprus.
Went my Persian Queen riding,
upon her golden, firery chariot.

Her black hair, like silk long and flowing.
Her royal robes white and purple, bare and pure.
Her sword by her side, ready to strike.
Her spear fastened, ready to stab the dreeded heart
of the Fire Dragon.
On the firery chariot, riding with her armies,
Went my Perisan Queen.

O, how my arimes fight your armies,
in the midst of night fall, under a full moon.
Let us stop this foolish fighting.
And have fellow brother, love fellow brother.
And so we can fall in love forever.

And don't act like you don't show love for me.
I see you in the dawns, standing upon the sand covered battlefields.
Standing proud behind your armies.
With your black hair flowing.
You almost making me want not to fight the battle of the Day,
for if you were killed, what victory would that be then?

You pull your armies back at the last minute, before I am slayed
by your fellow brother in arms.
You retreat your arimes back over the hills, not in fear of losing the day,
but in fear of losing me.
You and your armies had plenty of chances to kill me, yet you do not.

My Persian Queen, O come now.
Come down from your firery chariot
and into my restless arms.
I know you are tired
and wanting to sleep.

Listen to the nightingale
sing her love song.
Drinking the sweet necture,
from the gardens, in your vase Persian Empire.

Come now, and kiss me,
Hold me, let us ride,
far from the simple minds of the Old World
and fall in love in a New.

My Persian Queen
O how I love you so much.
I cannot bare to see you in a life you don't want to live.
Come let I, your Knight in shinning armour liberate you.
Take you by the hand, run through the great bazzare in Old Istanbul
running away from the Janissaries of your father's Imperial armies.

Let us leave this place of hate and sorrow.
To start our lives a new.
My Persian Queen,
Now dressed in silk lace,
with golden jewlery hanging
from your beautiful and tender neck.
Along with the silver pattened belt around your harmonial waist.

It is time for you, to come with me.
No more shall we act like we dispise one another.
As Romeo and Juliet's love failed,
shall our love take course, and we shall love
till the oceans swallow the earth, the mountains crumble,
and the Sun engulf the sweet Earth.
And on and on shall our love go on,
My adorable and lovely Persian Queen.

Daybreak

I wake on the sand
Right near the beach
You have yet to awake
Far out of reach
And Daybreak has arrived
A beauty unlike any other
Comparable only to us, girl
And how we love each other

So I gaze up alone
Marveling up at the sky
The warmth of the sun
Drying my eyes
I'm reflecting on us
Oh how each other we trust
I'm just so happy we're together
And I think to myself,
Just as this sun, we'll last forever

Then returning to be with you
I lay again now
Place my hand gently
On your warm tender shoulder
While I think of our lives today, love
And how they'll be when we're older...
I know there'd be no other way
So "I Love You" I make sure I say
To you, each and everyday

my own favourite haiku - so far

Haiku for frangipani in bloom:

nocturnal bouquet
of frangipani in bloom –
olfactory fruits

teasing aromas
adorning a young girls hair –
swaying moonlit palms

moths seeking nectar
flutter, flower to flower –
new buds at sunrise.

Evening walk on the beach

I walked alone
along a sandy and lonely beach.
The raging waves from the sea
crashed onto the slimy sea shore.
The riding waves were white and bare,
but when they violently crashed, turned white and black.

I walked along the lonely beach.
Listening to the seagulls chatting
on silver rocks and boulders.

I sat near the shore.
The waves coing in and out
crashing violently on the silver rocks and boulders.
I sat there, lonely skipping pebbles into the vase and endless sea.
The waves came in and swallowed the pebbles, I threw its way.

The sea crabs wabbling from side to side, came up from the shore.
They kept me company on a lone and quiet evening.
A lone dog walking without an owner
came and curled up next to me,
and barked at the chattering seagulls.
They flew in panic toward the setting of the Red Sun,
and disappeared into the evening paradise.

The lone dog gazed upon the red sheld sea crabs,
and chased their wabbling bodies away
back down to the slimy sea shore.
And at the setting of the evening, I was alone.

Soon I had seen something
that had shocked me,
A young and beautiful gypsy woman.
She crossed my path along the lonesome beach.
All of a sudden the beach became full with love and life of all kind.

The lilacs, and roses, and violets and daisies
grew tall and bloomed, like madmen.
The waves pulled in by the full moon,
that shinned upon me and the Gypsy Woman.
She was decorated with ragged skirts and blouses,
with shinny, white pearls around her neck,
and golden bracelets around her wrists.

She smiled at me.
I smiled back at her.
Her hair black, with a vail of flowers around her head.
She stopped me and held my hand.
I was astonished and afraid.

What was this stunning and beautiful woman doing to me?
A victim of lost love and heartbrake.
I had no money, no jewlery.
I asked her what she wanted.
She replied with loneliness in her voice;
"To be loved."

I pulled her in, and kissed her,
and whispered softly in her ear,
decorated with silver earrings;
"Me too."

We joined hands and walked the lonesome sandy beach.
Listening to the waves, now softly coming in and pulling out.
The shore, now not so slimy,
and the silver rocks and boulders sleeping so peacefully.
I turned to her and she smiled at me.
I held her in my arms and kissed her upon her sweet brow.

The Four Letter Word

Four letters put together to create one word,
with an impeccable definition.

Love...,
It is a strong word,
Close to the heart, yet
far from the woman you Love.

Butterflies flying, flapping their
orange and white wings in the summer heat.
The butterflies flap, flap their beautiful wings
together in the summertime of Love.

For Love is beautiful, like the summer preludes!

Four letters composed, to a Chopin's masterpiece.
The Romantic pole reaches out, to touch, to hold, to Love.

For these four letters are easy to read
and put together to create a complex concept
with a universal definition.
A four letter word, easy just to say,
but it is harder to show.
For Love is a simple word made up of simple letters,
but a complex meaing that takes most lifetimes to comprehend
and others a short while.

For I've seen hearts broken
and hearts put back together,
with this simple word.
My heart burned, brused, stabbed
knows the dangers of this simple, four letter word.

Love, some think it is a game
to play when you are bored.
Destroying self-esteem of girls,
who are already weak and nieve.
They long for love, but find surrealist dreams,
and see the Man of their dreams slip away in the night.
Gone without a trace.
While she is sucked into false promises,
from simple minded boys,
with only one thing on their mind.

Love..., it is a joke to some.
"I love you," is a laughing stock,
while a slap in the face, and disrespect is in fashion.
Girls, foolish girls walking in lonesome heartbreak,
saying they are in Love.
It is sad to see, and hard to hear, I know it is.

And to me Love is sometimes fair,
and most times a cruel joke.
Love, this four letter word is simple to say, but hard to comprehend.

Love me and I shall take you by the hand
show you caves of mystery,
and skies of grace and meadows, filled with flowers,
dedicated just for you, no one else, but you.
We can make Love on the sandy beaches, under the moonlit sky
under the still stars and shooting ones too.
Have a romantic dinner of oyster-shells and champange and kiss each other,
till we drown in intoxication and fall asleep in each others arms.

huh, Love... A simple, four letter word, that is easy to say,
but even harder to show.

The Purge

oh, sweet old vine that calms me down at the safe port in the warm sea
let me drink youth and hopes from the same bottle that the fishes swim
the hot sun burns my skin and dries my throat
but i dream about what the green lawns will bring me
as soon as I get out of this boat

red roses symbolizes the blood in the pacific waters
sharks are fighting swordfishes and shoals are frightened for their sons and daughters
the only thing that reminds the ocean to clean up all the stains and remains
it’s the expectation for the new battles that the great ships wage with the leviathans inside the captain’s veins

tell him that it’s to late now
cause the mermaid seeks passion from another sailor’s vow
poor man longing in the sea
his kids and wife can’t remember the sound of his arriving
with his footsteps filled with sand flea

PLAYFUL AT THE SEA

Barefooted, I walk down the sands..
Following the streams of skylights..
Cold water splashes on my legs as leisurely, I walk..
My long hair dance with the wind..
As I began to feel free basking with delight..
I stretched my arms open wide..
Chin above, eyes close as I face the beam of the sun..
I hold steadily then try to turn make rounds...
Like a child, I run with the waves...
Picking pebbles, throwing them to nowhere..
Then again, I run and run..
Uncaring though my clothes clung on me..
I shiver suddenly as icy water touch my flesh..
I dip down seeing clear waters..
I felt serenity, owning a time of my own...
Done with the short dip..
I sat down on the shoreline...
Under the warm sunlight...
Staring beyond the lovely sea..

Holding the moment

Poetry contest title.... Romanticsm in Rime Royal Free Poetry...Anthony Kirk

Holding the moment.

If I could hold this moment in both hands
And not let my love slip away from you.
And you and I can be like shifting sands
And move across the landscape like a dune.
Your beauty scent, by motion of the moon.
Your eyes in mine, mine eyes do catch your gaze
The beauty and your orbs to me amaze.

We could sit still, and watch the seasons change
And watch the sun, cut arcs across the sky.
And then to see the rain and not complain
See beauty like dew drops fall from your eye.
A drop so true exalted from your sigh
Perfection pure and love that’s on our side
Flows gently like the slowly ebbing tide

Then waves do crash against the rocks of time.
The granite worn, torn by the waves. We cry.
We watch in awe and fear the pure sublime
And grasp each other hard least we might fly,
Or be dashed, swept against rough rocks and die.
We lay together with the seeds we’ve sown
Lay facing upwards, letting our love grow.

The Idiom and the Oddity Part7 Fina

So, as we say in Greece
That’s where I’ll End my story
For the things that happen next
Weren’t made for song of glory

So many Tails, throughout the ages
Have spoke of love and loss
Of passions and betrayals
The triumphs and the cost

But never was one told
That meant as much to me
To launch a thousand ships
And survived through history

And with every great Greek story
There’s a lesson to be learn
So, I’ll leave you with this message
Now the last page, has been turned

The moral still stands true
Throughout all time, which passes
Don’t steal a person’s love away
And beware Greeks bare-ing asses

For Bruce Springsteen

for bruce springsteen...

it was a rain-swept monsoon day

way back then, so many moons away

when i felt the music strumming in my veins

setting me free like a runaway horse without any reins

you sang of simple truths,

your verse spoke to people just like me

in my lonely, wasted, and desolately quiet night

as you screamed out tragic human wrongs, and of everyone's plight

'bobby jean' spoke to me

of that girl down the street

glimpses of whom, we as innocents would furtively meet

and 'the river' that flowed through my ever-barren heart

led me down further roads of thunder

when slowly i finally learnt that the hardest part was fighting on

and never to surrender

to the hard-luck dreams that were born to run

while i danced in the dark

with memories vivid and stark

even as i whined like that dog who for forever lost his howling bark

and then a 'human touch' came along

and 'better days' seemed real, not just words in a song

and still you sang and swayed and spoke straight into my unseeing eyes

as gardens of secrets were opened, and as your fist punched the skies

in an anger that i too felt and in whose cauldron i too burned

as we saw murder get incorporated, while on its wobbly axis, our fragile world apathetically turned

and then suddenly i was told that i was all grown up

working on a highway of scattered ideals

and absolving myself by sprinkling some coins in a waiting cup

well, after all these years of walking along so many a thorny road

with an armour of your verse covering me, even as i hear them taunt me and even as they continue to goad

but now i can feel myself fading away, into the bleakness of this coming night

just like the ghost of that old tom joad...

Plucked Raven Feather

Sprays of thought swing us back to the art you have carved
Rejuvenating sentiments, reveling correction into acceptance
Straight to the supernova galaxy’s romance
A place where we can shape with our very fingers
The atlas of passionate, curious fraught
That is loosened by the very sand heaved by the waves
Dawned by the nights rejected,
We implore upon the Venus blinding our envisioning
Never once tearing away the organs with fabricated poisons

He is a calm wave all but surfaced to destroy
Pulled among tides of extravagant luster mustered into lust
With persistence of a tempest pulling dissensions of waste
And sharp as the tip of the plucked raven feather
My eyes open to his illumination
To show just how dull my own lighting has been all the while!
I want to read him like a book
But as he paragraphs line after line
Wordless after word,
I am reduced to the tired tears of unexplained mawkishness

I think I am falling for this deity,
Yet worlds of expectancy veer me away from the courses of delight
Somehow the waves of his calm spoke to me
And under the tier of the calm,
Is a flail of tension accustomed to an almost doubtful reconciliation
I finally understand
There is a viral hope that is both maddening and sweet
Like the sufferers rot for sufferers to come
A seed is planted and laid to rest for other generations
Under the layers never peeled
Under the very sands of his life
He indicates nothing but the illusion of hint
And pours forth a wisdom I have known all but none

All time would have to persevere
Because this fight for Venus’s light cannot be clearer
When all the doubt is dispatched from its shadowy domain
Into pure exposure; it reveals all but nothing!
Fear does not exist in his rays!
He is a sea of comfort sailing with the very putative storm I ache for!
Never asking for the shipwreck of my desire to be salvaged
Taking nothing from me, but giving all

And the beaked heaven flies on, letting me have his feather
The pulse of his wings electrifying my fingertips
I held on that split moment with excitement
Feeling his texture overhead
Like a flower pulled from the ground
Like the tip of Venus has dulled for the sake of my light...

Love Letters In The Sand

A huge heart and 'I Love You' are written in the sand
The waves lap over them, now they are hard to understand
As the tide ebbs and flows the words disappear from view
I wonder who left this lovely message – such a romantic thing to do

Limassol Twilight

It was a warm summer night
In a glowing neon dream
When I walked under palms
By the ultra-violet sea

Where Soft light rained down
Gently spread upon the beach
Hazy sky and oceans blurred
Aqua, orange, purples, pink

In the atmospheric twilight
I strolled the endless avenue
Mixing with the bar lights
Entranced by the sea view

Reflecting on the waters
Were flickering yellow strokes
Where freight ships turned to fairylights
Like a painting on the Rhone

Along the lamplit concourse
Ambient and watercolour washed
A stream of strollers poured
Soaking up the dusk

And With the flow of a ghostly breeze
I brushed by lovers and loners
Slender exotic joggers
And the Sunset bathing homeless

To this day it burns inside
My first night in Limassol
Industrial Miami
She left colours in my eyes

Our Night At The Beach

Hand in hand
walk along the beach
Calming sounds of the ocean
feel that zephyr breeze
Secure n Content
Mind is at ease

Cant stop smiling
never felt like this before
In heavenly bliss
as we lay upon the shore

The scent of his cologne
His gentle caress
Sweet n tender kisses
Head rested against his chest

Good conversation
He stimulates my mind
Could it be that my heart has
finally consigned?

A moment in paradise
It all seems so surreal
Perfect moments like these,
are the ones that truly suffice

This may be the beginning
of something beautiful n real
The union of two souls
That were made to congeal.

The Sieve of Time

The Sieve of Time

Cast ashore,
along the banks of time,

whirling through the passing years,
clinging to my futile scribbles set in rhyme,

Cast ashore,
thrust into an unrehearsed pantomime,

clenching slivers of joy as weariness descends,
lulled into a peaceful slumber exhilaratingly sublime.

Cast ashore,
hazily adrift, a dandelion seed on the wings of time,

trapped in the sieve of spiralling memories,
caught between pristine bliss, and reeking slime.

Cast ashore,
flung aside for no discernible crime,

my human heart thuds with elusive hope,
though battered, bruised, and covered in grime,

I stagger ashore,

alone,

embracing each moment of detached, oblivious time.

Sunshine Of You Love

I bask in your sunlight
As I lay upon the shore
Of your tranquil sea

Your love shines down upon me
Warming my skin
And energizing my soul

Your cool sweet breath
Stimulating my senses
As I watch the waves gently bow
And lay themselves at your feet.

Flora and fauna
Rejoice in your glory
As they dance and sing
In honor of your presence

Sand and shells
Reflect the brilliance of your smile
Across the expanse,
of an endless summer sky.

As I lay here gazing
Into your infinite beauty
I feel my spirit ascend,

Carried away on thermals
Created by your passion
As my mortal body is absorbed
Into the moist sand,

And I become one
With all that you are.

Port of Call

Port of Call

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

with the breath of the ocean a caressing balm,
soothing pained memories away,
to the swaying of a solitary palm.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

feeling the brushing away of all past turmoil,
on a quest for solace, ever so hard to find,
yet comforted by the crashing of the waves,
as the tide cleanses all pain,
and leaves despair far, far behind.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

drenched in a sea-breeze of mist,
that hushes the ache of bygone moons,
tasting the salty tang on my lips,
as the burnished sun,
over the distant horizon,
swoons,

and dips.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

searching, ever searching,
for a slice of solitude,
as memory bids a final adieu,
reaching under the sea so vast,
and seeking comfort in the depths,
while embracing,
the tomorrows to come,
wishing that they be true.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

seeing my truths drown,
as they slip beneath the turquoise waters,

feeling my heart ablaze,
with a passion that rarely falters.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

yet knowing that I am home at long last,
wishing the waves would wash away,
the defences that once stood,
like an impregnable wall.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

I have found, at long last,

my final port of call.

Rhapsodies of Romance

I see the Moon and Stars smiling at you;
and the gray skies turn bright and blue.
The flowers of fun preen in fresh fragrance,
fishes in the stream of love dance...
To the rhapsodies of our twilight romance.
