Click of the Clock

Running at the right rhythm
no nonsense needing attention;
Doing a dance though the day
ferociously fast It's flying!
Built to be a busy bee,
waking wanting to be working;
Perfectly productive
taking advantage of the time;
Running at the right rhythm
Coveting each click of the clock

What are dashes doing...

Elipsis dominating...

Spaces manifesting...

What's the reason

The pause in ma words

Slowness in "songs"

Distortion in grooves

Sometimes ma mood...

That's a clue

I'll finish it later

Em..what's that letter

Words misplaced

Or even displaced

What's next in line?

Okay I'll find a nice rhyme

What's that word?

Or is it "odd"?

Oh this is odd!

Where are words!

This tank I call ma skull

Is nought.. full of nought!

Cut! It hurts!

What a blank hut!

SNEEZING SOCKS ….. . .. .. . . . With petite purple pansies in her long and luscious locks Carly cleaned , creased , and darned her dirty, smelly socks, Her clover colored dress twirled around her fancy feet As apple –printed apron looked goody good enough to eat, With newly laundered laundry, billowing brightly in the breeze Oh, stray seeds from Carly’s socks, made her suddenly sneeze. © --------------- John Freeman’s Contest: Alliteration Poems, Please

No Longer Fit for Work

No more faxes, no more phones
No more “It’s too early” moans
No commuting, shouting, tooting
No more shirts & ties & suiting
No service station breaks and bites
No toilet queues and car park fights
No CRUISE control or heated seats
No glovebox filled with fuel receipts
No more hotel revolving doors
No concierge, no polished floors
No battered cases, weary faces
Sleepless nights in far-off places
No bacon fat, no butter pat
No “Why have I been charged for that?”
No checking out or checking in
Or moans about the room you’re in
No ‘silly hours’ airport dash
No feeling for your foreign cash
No passport checks, departure times,
No Coke machines that don’t take dimes
No drinks or pastes, no sprays or gel
Lens solution? - banned as well
No plastic meals or plastic smiles
To carry you across the miles
No luggage queues, no business shoes
No funny, foreign, TV news
No laws by which you must abide
No driving on the other side
No local customs, scraping, bowing
Baffling greetings and kowtowing
No horrid coffees, tepid teas
No pidgin English; ‘Thank you, please’
Meetings, musings, tariff choosings
Hushed asides, so oft confusing
Remembering their children’s names
Tax returns, expenses claims
You’ve toed the line your whole life through
But future plans are up to you
Bin the laptop, scrap the email
Make time for your favourite female

in the deep and the dark
of the meanest mine shaft
they hack at the rock
in ten hours of graft

in the filth and the wet
with the tightest of space
they kneel in cold water
to work the coalface

in the black of the rock
with candlelight dim
they have to work naked
but shards cut the skin

in the dust of the grind
with fumes that are toxic
they work half blind
and lives are at risk

in the child labour mine
there is suffering and pain
while the rich mine owner
counts his profits again

I sold my soul to the bottom of the beer bottle. So what if I want to wallow around
with this low self mentality . A sip here a sip there, why not sip everywhere
You see, you really don't care when you have the mentality to wallow in the hallow
of a bottle.
I sold my soul to the bottom of the beer bottle;burning out the aching pain that
causes me to be insane with so much shame.

Boy,the bottom of the beer bottle isn't where I really want to be?You see the
bottom of the beer bottle did not bother me; but now ,it's really affecting me.

Ican't eat sometimes I can't even sleep, because the bottom of the beer bottle is
calling me.It's really beating my body. How can I ever benefit when the bottom of
the beer bottle is calling me?How could this ever happen to me?

When I used to win and grin, beating the bottle;what I once to beat is now beating
me and my body. The bottom of the beer bottle is calling me.

Idrink it waking up and drink it lying down. The bottom of the beer bottle has a tight
hold on me.The bottom of the beer bottle is calling me.

Sweep Soft Snowflakes

She said: ‘Sweep soft snowflakes this sunny Sunday -
Synthetic sleet, you see, from Slava’s Snow Show!’

My wife and mother managed to read it slowly.

Is it love

I feed my hands…yes! With inks,
The ink does what?... Oh! My heart gives words,
Words from…yes! My brain thinks a lot,
A lot?
Of course, from my lot!

I love to…,
Do I really love to?…
Or I’m forced to…,
Em, I’m pushed to…,
No, compelled to…
I don’t know!
What makes me write?!
All I see,all sees
All I hear, even all are “all ears”
How can I see a can and say “yes I can!”
Oh…I can’t stop” I can”
My “can’t” can’t stop my “can”.

I’m disconnected but, still connected
‘Prefer isolation but, I’m still among
‘Love to be away yet, I’m still around
My ink…or me sees a lot,
Thinks a lot,
Reveals my lot!

I wonder if it’s love,
Let’s give it a thought
I think it’s my lot
Or is it really love?!

‘Didn’t lose my pen, Neither my hands ‘Brain’s not chained, Neither changed Where’s my thirst? ‘Not at rest? What’s not right? Is this a fight? Where’s my might? I’m not “allright”! ‘Too tight. So hot! Is this a cot?! I’m not a baby? I’m so lonely God help me!

What'll I Write... he
Muses, surveilles the nil
Wind, windowy visage,

& gateswayed key-pad,
like a cyber abacus
to touch & stroke, counted-

on to reveal it's
whilom Mysterlex, vener-
able... Sunday, a

small gaggle of Ibis, like a
short-stack @ the Pamcake House,
gather to beak the

night-sogged sand & soil -
Yes, it is Raining, & what'll
I Write onto this

Sky heavy with no
sound, Divemy - to Alpha-Bet-
souper-bowl-Day to score

& yield 1st-touch-Words,
off-costume, aplenty like
Muskmelonseeds al

centro, resplendent
like an occasion, of the
Yes-twoDay's a mazed

Prosetrycopia!, huh! -
What shall I Write, In-
Deed!?, but Linnear...

and Quantumescent,
A Sirge in Time to the
Muse of Rhyme, I Am...

Pleasure, like the flowing of a gentle stream Happiness, like the joy of a lively kid Power, like the rule of a mighty king Freedom, like gentle journies of melodious strings All flowing within a being I reckon with My ink, My Friend, God ends!

Team Work

It's like theater,
Every one has a part.
And every one has to work together.

It's like art,
Every one has to work together.
And make the picture come to life.

It's like music,
Every one has to sing.
And make the song sound good.

It's like writing,
Every one has to write the words.
And make the words tell the story.

It's like band,
Every one has to play an instrument.
To make the music touch hearts.

It's like dance,
Every one has to do the steps.
To make the steps right.

It's like a puzzle,
All the pieces have to fit.
Not just one or five. But all.

It's like chess,
Every one has to put their skills together.
Like a team work.

It's just like soccer,
Every one has to work together to get the ball in.
Like team work.

It's just like a Christians,
Every one has to work together.
Not just one or five.

We all need to work together.
We all need to help each other.
We all need to witness to each other.

We Run

I don’t know where I’m going
I only know where I’ve been
I know what I was taught
I know that we have sinned

Don’t get caught up in this masquerade
They will take ‘til you can’t give
They will look you straight in the eye
And tell you how to live

This place that we call honest
Is the place we can’t forget
They teach to live forgiveness
Yet they persecute to the end

We look down on others
For their restrictive ways
What good is that developing land
Yet we sell our soul to get paid

We look down on others
Can’t they figure it out
But we sit here under dictator
Only we can’t throw him out

We should all run
We should all hide
We can save ourselves from this time
Why can’t we all run
A place that they can’t find
So our dreams are truly ours tonight

I know my weaknesses
and I despise them,
especially my inability
to react
to those bastards
who sought to destroy
my fragility
This is a fact

To walk away?
A sign of cowardice?
or strength?
To draw deep,
before my courage begins to seep

Why can't I retaliate?
This paralyzing state
My lack of confrontation
My weakness
These things that grate,
the things I hate,
in my self

This force within
be my guide
Confront my reality
for I have tried,
this spirituality
for I do want to win

It is a hard thing...
to find.........
Courage to bring,
what you left behind,
what you have tried........
Be my guide

To lift one's head,
release the clench from your heart
Ignore what is said
Before you start
You know I have tried...............
Be my guide

These limited people too.............
how mean and small............
their lives are,
and what they do
The names they call
They just want you...........
to fail

These limited people fail
So personally inside
So miserably outside
They have no guide,
for often they have tried,
to take my guide,
on my lifes' trail

These people have tried
How small!
When they know,
you walk tall,
and you have a guide
