Just a day
“Good Night Mom and Dad” I said before I went to bed. “We love you” they said as they closed the door
Mom comes in and wakes me up “Time to go to school” as my feet hit the floor
I got dressed and ate breakfast and got my book bag and now we are on the go
We sit in the car listening to music “It’s Friday I think I’m a little excited tho
“Alright baby we here” as mom open the door to let me get out
She closed the door and kissed me on the head told me she loved me before she pulled off
Another day of school and it close to Christmas
I can’t wait to see Ashley and Alexus, today is show and tell as I said in a whisper
We had learning center day and Boy! Was it fun!
Today was a free day and on Friday there isn’t much to learn
The room was quite when the was a knock at the door, the door opened
A man with a big gun was standing there; my classmates panicked and started to run
I heard a lot of noises and a lot of screams
I felt a sharp pain in my back as I dropped to my knees
In the distant I heard more screams and then everything went silent
Then I closed my eyes it went dark and on the cold floor I was dying
The other side
It’s Thursday night and off to bed we go
I kiss my 5 year old son Jaden and told him I loved him so
Alarm clock goes off and it’s around 6:15 in the morning
I shower got dress and woke up Jaden my little darling
Its Friday, I fixed him breakfast and we headed out for the this last day until the weekend
I enjoyed our little drives to school as we sat in the car singing
I opened the door to let him out once more
Kissed him on the head and told him I loved him ill pick him up around four
I’m at work drinking coffee just talked to my husband on the phone
Got at my desk started to work and the my office phone rung
It’s about 9:30 and it was Jaden’s school
I got the news he was dead and I started to puke
I’m crying uncontrollably don’t know my next move
My son is dead, I can’t believe this news
I hurried to the school in the best of my ability
I saw the school surrounded by medics, reporters, and police
I ran to a officer and demanded to see my son
He said “I’m sorry ma’am” I can’t do this at this time
At 9:32 my one and only son Jaden was pronounced dead
The shooter was 20 and took my son’s life in his own hands
The questions continue to flow through my head as I search for answers
I don’t need answers I need my son and his laughter
I am now sitting on his bed trying to swallow tears
My husband holds me close as reality nears
My little boy is gone among the other 19 kids
Heaven has 20 new angels now I hope he knew how much I love him as much as I did

odd coffee date

All was going well until she asked for a drink
Then my stomach started to sink
She ask “do you have coffee?”
“no it’s OCD”

Stood up, turned 80 degrees
Counted my steps, ones and threes
Get the scales and measure the grains
In nerves, must not make any stains

Add the milk, not too much
Now the sugar, just a light touch
Click the kettle, watch my watch
If she was Irish, I could always add scotch

Click! Pour the water
63 mm size always matters
A quick stir, a wee bit slower
Too high make it lower

Turn clockwise, go for the door
Marching like in the marine corps
There she is lying in a heap
I was hours, she’s fast asleep

the gym.

walking in I see I'm not the only one thinking,
1,2,3,4, every rep every set the body pumping,
rock in the speakers so no one starts screaming,
from the treadmills to the dumbbells every ones pushing,
we go to the gym to get away,
here we find our thoughts of the day,
no one knows no one can sees it's our way,
all our troubles in millions of sets whats there to say.
with every calorie we burn every sweat that falls,
bills are paid, all is forgiven,no longer crawling the walls,
it's how we release how we let go it's our peace of mind that is all,
we walk in with so much on our minds,
we walk out with the smile we couldn't find,
we don't find it in abuse in a bottle or looking for signs,
we find our thoughts here in the gym that is how we unwind.

Why you no work

…Money…in a voice that rustled.
No sir, I do not have any money.
How about getting a job?
…Change…in a voice that creaked.
Sorry sir, I don’t make the rules.
How about running a campaign?
…Help…in a voice that trailed.
Sir, how do I do that?

I Stole a Portalette

I work hard at work and then at home
In the bathroom is the only place I am King of the throne
There is such a thing as a honey do list
And at work so much to do, no time for bliss
I did something that I know I will never regret
I went and stole a portalette
It fits perfect in the corner of my back yard
I notice the neighbors outside working real hard
We negotiate an admission fee for them to use it
I put up a sign that reads Enjoy it, but don't abuse it
I hire the Chicanos around the corner to add some graffiti
I took advantage of Zero percent financing from Sears to install some central air
and heating
Next summer I will expand it and add another wall
This will be where I will have a spa
I just put in cable tv to provide entertainment
Now my friends want to steal their own portalette
I told them construction sites are probably an ideal place to get one
I tell them to check and see how full it is, because spilling it ain't no fun
If it is full, complain to the Site Foreman so he will get it emptied, thus, making it
easier for you to handle
Be careful of the methane gas, use a flashlight, not a candle
Odo Ban works better than Febreeze
Try to place it under some shade trees
It will keep the temperature inside moderate
Take pride in your newly acquired portalette
If you treat it right, it will provide you with this one thing
It may not happen in your own home, but in your portalette you can always be King
But now you get into the issue of His or Hers
Another visit to the construction site may have to occur

The woman of my heart

Neutrality in your colour seduces me and overwhelms my pride. Originality in your words attracts me and drives my senses to you. Prenuptial agreement, I must sign, without delay. Quest no more! You are my type of girl. You are with no doubt the woman of my heart

Green People

I see green people
They tell me they come in peace
But they are showing me the roots to all evil
I see green people
They try to disguise their intentions
But their actions are so see through
I see green people
They are the true world leaders
There are no free actions or thoughts
You do or think what they want you to
I see green people
They manipulated all of our history
So if we were to find the truth
It doesn't matter because their is no proof
I see green people
As their head grow larger
I continue to have distant dreams of me being considered a equal
I see green people
They told me to worship them or die
Close my eyes and look through the lies
Because without them
There is no chance to walk among the Gods
I see green people
And there is no doubt about it
They truly show me the roots to all evil

My First Poem

I thought as hard as I could
Of how I would my first poem begin
But this I knew
That once I put my pen to paper
Then I could write a full book

So I started to write
With my eyes moving from left to right
And a lot running through my mind
People will hate it
While some others, it will change their lives

But this again I knew
That behind the best lines are worst words too
I hope it would be given a fair trial
My heart couldn't hope for any better
And at the end, you would say
How I love to read this poem again

HEALTH AND WORK

The above twins of my mother,
they love each other
and move together day and night.
Whenever they reach,
they sit together and there where
they live,
they are parasites to each other.
When the first is sick,
the next becomes weak
and when the other die
the latter begin to cry because of pain.

MidNight Wishes

Even though i did not hear your voice tonight i'm still ahit,
I will go on like this for ever, i wont go out without a fight.
I'll fight till the end of this life to win your heart,
All you have to do is tell me when to start.

The music blarrin in my head phones at 1:52 AM and i'm lovin it,
cause it helps me remember your gorgeous smile like it was meant to fit.
Wanting to feel your touch and kisses all over me ignites the fire in me,
Wanting to take you by your hand and run wild in a big sea.

There aint much i can say to express myself but this will have to do for tonight,
I think its just that i haven't reached height.
You no I love you and that's all that matters or will ever matter to me,
I will love you till i die, like I told you before, cant you see?

THE POWER OF WORK

Work like a slave
to eat like a chief.
As work was blessed,
It's important to work hard
because we were born to work.
Lucky are those
who knows how to work,
and cursed are those
who do not like to work.
Work as a gift,
it's everyone's joy
who need to live in peace
as he said so that work
is the best priority of man.

Young Black Man

The everyday struggle of a young black man
Just the thought of being broke
Trying to get him to understand
If you don't work You don't eat
But these young black men in today's generation
have their own understandin about this dog eat dog world
And what it's like to survive in the streets

On the block with the nicks and the dimes
Like a 9 to 5
Saying they just trying to make ends meet
But when those ends don't meet
Than their mindset change
And turn to plan B
Now they scoping out the next man neighborhood
Than head back to the house just to plot a B&E
Hoping they don't get caught

But when they get caught
They sit alone in a cell
Looking at their reflection
as If they were looking at their own worst enemy
But nobody din't get you there but yourself
Young Black Man
You have to ask if need a little help
Young Black Man
Now you having dreams
Anticipating your freedom in that outside land

But when you get outside
You head back to the block to the trap house
To grab your fie and a pound
And head back out on the block
Talking bout you putting in overtime
Young Black Man

So it's no more 9 to 5
Now it's sunrise to sunrise
but when will you look over your life
And finally realize you could have did something better
Now you have a child on the way
Do you think they care if you work at mc D's , BK
Or sold water off the side of the palmetto
Just to get a buck
Young Black Man

You can be an entrepreneauer
Set forth and learn something new bruh
Instead of being subjected to the streets
And next thing we know we lose ya
Now you got your family and friends
Heading to the Flea
To get that R.I.P. placed upon theor black Tee
Forced to think about the old days and loved memories
Cause you see

"Back in the days
I was young and afraid
Like I was lost in a maze
A creature trapped in a cage
And I just wanna be free
Be FREE BE FREE!!!

So Its time we make a change...

HARD WORK IS HONEST LIVING

Take it to heart when someone says,
" Hard work is honest living! "
My ma used to say it in a convincing voice,
when we gathered around the table
for many delicious meals;
and we couldn't start eating
before saying, " Grace "...
" My children, God gave this to us,
and must be always thankful
that He provides for us! "

" Hard work is honest living ",
I won't forget this proverb so rooted in truth...
as I go through life with each blessing;
if we forget to thank God, all our days,
we deliberately ignore the wonderful gift
given to us through His kindness!
Lift up your praying eyes, and see what's worth;
simply make that commitment!
And remember that everything we have received so far,
was the persistent prayers of a firm believer like ma!

Very few people believe in these words,
" Hard work is honest living! "
They like getting paid for something,
which was done by somebody
who had a different set of beliefs,
and that credit they didn't deserve,
because not even an ounce of sweat perspired
from their cool skin by not using their hands!
Be glad to perform your job with full honesty;
every dollar you'll earn, will make you proud!

Unfold your banner, you fearless laborer;
there's no shame in doing odd jobs:
your head must be held high and your righteous heart
must rejoice before God for your integrity!
Your children will pick up your yoke and carry on
that tradition, so that no farmer and carpenter would feel inferior;
and where would their food come from?
And how their house would be built without the strength of the builder?
Think quickly:  laziness makes the idle mind depend on someone else;
look around yourself, which one prospers: the lazy one or the hard-working one?

Sugarland Express(The Honeywagon's Replacement)

It all happened so fast
No one had time to react
What to do now that the Honeywagon is gone
Do we really want this day to dawn
Reality hits, how could Charlie be so heartless
He tells the females, welcome to the Sugarland express
Miss Bette never did not experience the previous ride
Now she wonders with her grief who can she confide
Please don't approach me, I don't want to give Charlie any distress
I do want to lose my turn to cruise to the gate in the Sugarcenter Express
Now that there is a new Alpha Female
I call her Gabby, but her real name is Gabrielle
The guys still are enforced with the same regulations
Sit in back and feel that unimportant sensation
I heard a guy tried to ride in the front seat
He was told move to the back and feel the defeat
A guy riding up front, what thoughtlessness
This is not a Beefcake Cruise, it is the Sugarland Express
A female had some gifts, today was her birthday, guys see it as junk
Too many gifts, two guys were forced to ride in the trunk
I have signed up, do I have what it takes to be a guest
Just once, please I beg, for my turn to ride in the Sugarland Express
At this point it don't matter, something is certainly laggin'
I miss the DVD player and all the other amenities in the Honeywagon
I just had to get that off my chest
Please sign up, I have still another three months before my turn to ride in the
Sugarland Express
But soon I heard Charlie will offer Nintendo Wii to play on the way to the gate
So if you want that ride, don't be late
Ah, a new female all she has to do is ask for a seat
I feel this saga will never be complete

Mr. "Somebody"

"Inside a world that changes every day,
Inside a world that nobody remembers the day after,
Mr. "Somebody" tries to learn the values and principles of life
in reading mythologies and fairytales.

I am so sorry Mr. "Somebody"
You will find no happily ever after."

Last Ride

Eighteen wheels roll down a highway
on the other side of time
where a dark and ghostly shadow moves
along the centerline
As he rolls across tomorrow
through that final border town
hear the distant fading thunder as
he puts the hammer down
Where there no ropes or fences
no more dispatch on the phone
just a free and easy spirit
on his final journey home
He'll never face another heartache
he'll not shed another tear
now reaching out through destiny
he shifts his final gear
As he rides beyond the sunset
he waves his last goodbye
and now he rolls across forever
on that highway in the sky!

Let Me Shine

You say you know whats best for me, but you dont even really care. I'm trying to make a better life, can't you see? I'm already 1/2 way there. I want to do more, hear my voice. change in career, a life changing choice. A big decision yes I know, You take it personal and it shows. Would you like some cheese with that whine? It's a golden chance, a chance of a lifetime. Give me some slack and let me shine. I'm "a beautiful soul" you "love me so much"? But I'm just an asset and your only crutch. I like you yes, but know this now, I'm not the only worker in this town. You dont come here to live, you come here to die. This is Business, so no need to cry. Another excuse it's all the same, I want to live not play people's games. You say you support me but do you care? I'm not your property, you have to share. I'm "a beautiful soul" you "love me so much"? But I'm just an asset and your only crutch

AM ENSLAVED BY LIQUOR

       AM ENSLAVED BY LIQUOR
The bottle had become my friend and companion
When the sun rises I stroll to my favorite drinking salon
Leaving my wife and children in bed to quench my thirst
And spend my monthly salary on my best hobby drinking
Till when i feel that I have bought all the patrons a drink

My children are better sitted at home
Than wasting money educating them
My boys are better at rearing my herd of goats and cows
While the girls can assist their mother in cooking and doing home chores
While I their father can drink and do my usual routine; drinking
I

I abscond from duty because I can’t miss to drink
My work mates remind me to resume work but that’s is none of my concern
As long as I serve my precious master the “bottle”
If am not the one to leave last the drinking joint last am not faithful
So I make sure I leave last

Now am sitted all alone at my veranda wasted
Having become a laughing stock by my village mates
I had turned into a greedy father and bread winner
I failed to provide for my family needs
I gave up on educating my children
My wife had to endure regular beatings and insults from me
All this I did under the influence of alcohol
Not knowing that my family was being ruined.

Gold Rush

Once upon a gold rush
In the midst of 68'
They rallied up the minors
To find the worthy candidate
Stand up for the people
Hook the bosses with the bait
One point for the minority
Mark it on the slate
When the tables turned
Causing havoc and debate
They fired all the workers
And won't let them past the gate
Slide through Canadian borders
To another mining state
When they went to catch the train
They found the were too late

A Taste of Kirklin's Work

Take me off of autopilot, cause I stare into the atmosphere,
I'm living life and getting strikes and pretty soon I'm outta here,
you got me twisted like a broken stick that you kept messing with,
and if I die I hope that I can convince God to let me in,
I'm open to your point of view, but closed for ever in a hole,
I can get a grasp of things, but I can never get control,
an answer can be answered, but a question stays a question,
my anger turns from silence into pain and then depression,
this is just a poem about how I make my poems perfect,
They're so deep, but now I think it's time to head back to the surface!

Delondi Ngoma Kintaudi Work in progress

My name describes and summarizes me
my essence, vitality, and pressence
it is the model I search for
with stretching arms
and pray in my heart to become
it is a constant reminder of my potentiality
forever linked to my Congo ancestry
spoken indefinately
as a unification of soul
with stories of unity untold
of family suffering and survival
My name signifies their struggle
and is a holistic envisioning
of my grandfather's dreams
Delondi means epitome
not the purity of any particular race,
not the misguided attempts at perfection
that results in saluts and exclamtatory cries
not superiority as one might arrogantly
interpret with no flaws
but a superiority based on
effectiveness and efficiancy
based on acceptance
judgement
and a belief that if knocked down
God can bring us back up again
superiority based on ones best
despite one's limitations
Ngoma means drum
the rythym and sound that
enables us to share our lives experiences
the thoughts, ideas, and messages
inevitably and necessarily implying
a knowledge transfer
from one person to another
knowlege seeking, bonding, enabling
and sharing our inner most feelings
Kintaudi means humble
Humility is acceptance of ones
faiures and inabilities
to be
without the power of the almighty

Without dialogue.
I just emptied feelings that overflowed my existence.
Joys and sorrows were fighting for domination
And I was the only eyewitness person.

Pardon My Dolly (

When I seen her, I knew I had to make her mine
She comes a family with a knack for design
She is put together so very well
She has been mine for 15 years, no one can tell
I know this story must sound melancholy
But please if would pardon my dolly
She has never needed any reconstruction
She carries extra weight time to time but removes it quickly, no need for
liposuction
I love her so much, she is the one I know who will never let me down
She has strutted her stuff all over town
She enjoys being around me
We have avoided so much contreversey
She waits for me right beside my bed
She need a new coat, possibly bright red
We ride together in a Denali
If you need a ride, I will say in advance pardon my dolly
She has seen more places than a band on tour
Everyone is familiar with her each time we enter a store
My girlfriend feels threatened by her, her name is Molly
But each day I politely tell her, pardon my dolly
