Go On

Go on

Silence, emotional enemy
Cold shoulder envy
You’re gone again
You’re gone again
Broke in two
Shadow on a pale face
Knows the truth
Heart keeps beating
You have stopped breathing
Go on
Go on

Cold hand wrapped in mine
Warming up
warm breath fog hides your eyes
A mask in winter
You become disquised
Go on
Go on

Turn around
Walk away
I see your breath follow you
Stuck on the ground
Have to stay
Your silhouette’s showing
Hunched down
Your energy glows
No sound
You’re gone again
You’re gone again

I fell down
No more to give
I fell down
No life to live
Won’t go on
Go on
Go on
Walk into the shadow
Faint sound of song
Into the darkness
You're gone
Gone again
Gone again

Faint smell of your sweat
Stains left on the floor
You're memory anchored
Onto my shore
My wave’s crash
You drift away
Water filling my mouth
Stopping words to say
And the sentences are
Gone again
Gone again

Dead Winter

A black cloud discriminates effortlessly,
forms gauche haunting images
justifying Kraken legend.
Malevolent nimbostratus
orchestrate prejudice quotable rain squalls,
travelling unbiased verifying
what xtremes yonder zoom.

Coldest Winter Ever

in the coldest winter ever, i learned to b-more careful
skool of hard knocks taught me to be more street smart
you see i grew up in the bronx
but mommy made it disney world
cause i was her only baby girl
i still saw the misery and learned real early that it loves company
so i should'nt talk to strangers or they'd put me in danger
introduce me to the things i shouldn't know
i learned to be a little lady not have my 14th birthday baby shower party
my aunties already knew the code of the streets and i learned to decode the
messages my mother taught me by kickin the cypher
I tried to keep my ear to the streets and learn the stories of the lifas
i wanted to be well-rounded so when i stepped of the curb i would still remain
grounded
i wasn't at the number hole or in the corner set-up I kept my head up
I was lookin for the light at the end of the ghetto
i wasn't gon' let it take me in circles
Cause i knew i had to do some new shiit
cause in the coldest winter ever i became more clever
I Learned why mommy said don't go exposin ya gold in the ghetto
wear a sweater

if you go down to the streets

if you go down to the streets today
beware of the frozen ground
if you go down to the streets today
you're sure to go slippin' around

for all the snow so pretty last night
has gathered there and turned into
ice
Today's the day you need claws on
your footsies.

winter time is such lovely fun
with snowflakes dancing in the light
watch them, catch them
challenge friends in snowball fight
you can sleigh, you can ski, print
angels in snow
"Till the cold and the wind come like
thieves in the night
and a fire and your bed fill your heart
with delight

it's cold down there in the streets
today
it's better to stay at home
it's vile down there in the streets
today
It's safer to stay at home.

the icy winds got spiteful alone
and turned pavements to soapy
stone
and getting around is sure to be no
picnic

Winter Christmas

A beautiful Christmas day,
Bright warm winter days,
Clouds fluffy and white ,
Decorations on the exquisite Christmas tree,
Each homemade, like cookies or popcorn garlands,
Frost on the window pains, icy and decorative,
Gold and beige velvet ribbons,
Happy and healthy foods at Christmas,
Icicles long and jagged along the rooftops,
Jays blue and white sitting in an evergreen tree,
Kings of the Orient, carrying gifts for the Christ child,
Love and kindness at Christmas
Mary mother of Jesus and wife of Joseph,
Newly fallen snow, fresh and crisp,
Osentacious gatherings enhanced, and sociable,
Praises for the festive season,
Quiet snowflakes falling gently on the earth,
Royal and regal celebrations,
Silent night to be revered,
Tunes of Christmas sung by the choir,
Universal days of friendship and good will,
Variety of entertainment to celebrate the season,
Wealthy winter days filled with favorite sports,
Xtra hours to be together for the winter vacation,
Yesterday and today's Christmases revered,
Zealous ambitions during the Christmas season and thankfulness.

IT Is You I Dream Of

A flower grows from beneath a blanket
Of fine and purest white
It reaches toward the sun for warmth,
For heat and for the light

My love for you grows stronger still,
Despite the surrounding cold
My heart is yours, bartered gone
For yours has it been sold

Its petals shine from morning dew
Its stem grows stiff and strong
It stands strong through the freezing cold
It stands the winter long

I long for you, for your soft touch
I miss the way you smile
The longer that we stay apart
The longer every mile

The flower stretches through the snow
It reaches toward the sun
And now without you the color is gone
The flower's petals, dun

But as we talk, and as we learn
The flower comes back to life
The snow now melts and goes away
As you take away my strife

Spring is here and growth abounds
As you and I are one
We are together, we are in love
The snow for now is done

I see the future, in dreams I have
Of our life, long and true
I see the times where all I need
Are comforting words from you

I see the times when winter comes
As winter tends to do
But we still love, and we still live

And a life of much to see
With love we live, to live we love
Happy together are we

I see the flower, older now,
But still strong with fresh new leaves
I see it growing, tall and strong
Reaching to the eaves

We are now old, as years have passed
But old together are we
And strong our love still today
As strong as it can be

THE RAINBOWS OF AUTUMN

Autumn leaves cling high in the tree tops
As acorns drop to the bottom.
Summer’s hot days have long since gone
Replaced by the coolness of Autumn.

The roses and mums are still in bloom
For the nights are brisk without frost.
Halloween is just around the corner
With the brilliance of Autumn soon lost.

Dead leaves create the rainbows of Autumn
Red, yellow, orange, purple and brown.
Soon winter shall blanket nature in white
As the seeds of summer lie dormant in the ground.

Wild geese call as they fly in formation
Across the star filled skies of night.
The moon seems larger and has more color
Reflecting with wonder its light.

Autumn for most, is their favorite time of year
Till winter passes and it’s spring once more.
A time of harvest and transformation
As the light of day is shorter than before.

How many Autumns have come and gone
Only God could tell the story.
How many Autumns have we left to enjoy
With their fulfillment, radiance and glory.

Killer Kale

Part 3
She dropped the greens in a hurry
sliding back on all fours
desperate to get away from the vegetable that she couldn’t have seen move
she was going crazy
that was the only logical solution

But somehow,
she knew,
this wasn’t one of the many times her mind had tricked her
making her believe something
that no one else believed

Throwing away the idea of being sneaky,
they advanced forward
showing their faces to the one that had ruined everything
she scrawled against the wall behind her
struggling to get away from the things moving towards her

Creeping their way towards her cowering form in a corner
they limped on their leaves
growing soggy from the ice that was once on them melting
in the heat of the inside
how could she stand this heat when she claimed to love the cold?

Then, the attack began

Leaves scratching
hands batting
a scream
a whimper
and then nothing

Season 1st Snow

  Season’ 1st Snow
The cold winds have begun to blow, evidence of winter’s arrival.
The trees are nearly bare of autumn leaves while stretching toward the late fall sky.
Brilliant colors of autumn have begun to fade away to muted colors of winter grays.
As each day passes by, the days begin to get shorter while nights get colder.
Early mornings awaken with a coating of frost across the landscape and a chill in the air.

My excitements builds as each day passes, for the arrival of winters first snow.
Looking forward to hearing the gentle crackling sounds of the snow falling on crisp autumn leaves.
Sounds that are so unique for this time of year.
The autumn colors within a short period of time will be replace by a white winter mantel of freshly fallen snow.
A sign of seasonal transition from Autumn to Winter.

Winter on a whim

The sun does sit so low,
Over the bare English premise,
As the swallows lark before the snow,
Swift, gracious, cutting air with ease.

The air and wind bite the rosie cheeks,
Beautiful sun sets and rise’s on grey,
Moisture hangs in the air and drags over the peeks,
As the darkness creeps in earlier every day.

The dim glow of lights in every house,
You can feel the warmth, the love,
Sharing the year’s crop, feed the poor,
‘tis the season, the sun will die, then rise above.

Giving thanks

Thank you for my daughter’s laughter
she reminds me there is joy to be found everywhere
thank you for arms that embrace
life’s yearning to connect
thank you for dreams
the ones we follow
and the ones we dance with
Thank you for music
the kind that cracks you open
then puts you back together again
thank you for the ink of our memories
so that we may write
our own beauty
thank you for the sky
a window wide open
calling you in
thank you for the ocean
its vastness humbling
waves that whisper
let go… let go…
thank you for the wind
that partners with the trees
for a soulful ballet
thank you for the rain
washing away the dust
and tampering our fires
thank you for springs vibrant bloom
a canopy of magic and renewal
thank you for summers swell
thick sweet honey humming with heat
thank you for autumns release
unfurling itself against a palette of color
thank you for winters deep sleep
and the stillness of snow
thank you for all the darkness
the despair
the fear
and the losses
for without them
all of this
would not be
so achingly
beautiful

Michigan Winter

Living here in Michigan
Since winter 2008 first began
It has been bitter cold this season
So I want a really good reason
The temperatures are way too low
Even zero and some days well below
I've lived here all my life
But this is just way too much strife
A friend says it's global warming
Still I don't like all this constant snowing

Winter Night with my Dog

Winter Night with my Dog.

Nestle in warmth with blankets abound on a late winter night.
With light from the flames of the fireplace flickering across the room.
Here with my dog cuddle by my side.
His eyes are closed with love and trust.
Outside my frosted window the wind blows gently in the cold night air.
The trees are bare and naked.
They stretch up into the dark gray sky, twisted, distorted strip bare of autumn leaves.
Replaced by a thin layer of snow. Birds seek shelter as does night’s creatures large and small.
My focus soon turns to watching tiny snowflakes gently falling though the light that radiates from outside light fixture.
Then fade into the darkness of night, like ballerinas on stage.
Each snowflake dances and sparkles within a brief period of time.

As the night passes and the minutes seem endless, I began to doze off.
I place my head on my pillow, leaning over and giving my little furry friend a goodnight kiss and a gentle pat.

Shortly I will close my eyes comforted, by the warmth of my blanket and fireplace.
Enjoying these finale minutes of this late winter night.
And yet within the recess of my mind,
I Know that our time in life is short.
As we go through the journey of life. Like the tiny snowflakes that fall though the light this winter night.

Killer Kale

Part 2
Now they had to get revenge

They crawled through the night
the ground frozen from days without sun
to the place where she had gone,
her human skin not strong enough to live in the cold
her mind so reveled in

When morning came they waited
and waited
and waited
for the perfect moment to make their move
the get the revenge they so longed for

The cold sun hit the middle of the sky
they made their way
Moving like plants move when no one is watching
to the base of the house
blocked and protected by a wall of brick and cement

She was sleeping
surrounded by a plethora of illnesses
the ones that grip you from the inside
never to show on the outside
hiding from everyone

She couldn’t bring herself to leave
when the bells started going off
in the little box that sat on her nightstand
Couldn’t bring herself to leave
the one place she could get escape

But the kale waited again
and waited
and waited
in the cold that consistently grew colder
relentlessly taking hold of the last of their ability to live

They moved when the cold burned their leaves
leaving spots of discoloration in their wake
giving them scars they’d never be released from
forever a mark on their skin
to tell where they’d been

They rushed as fast as you’ve ever seen
as fast as a plant could,
eating their way through the siding,
driven by the need for justice
to end the one girl that enjoyed the thing that killed so many

 Inside the house
they nearly fell and wilted from relief
of the heat soaking into their veins
the heater thrumming from outside
overworking to keep things from freezing

Almost as soon as they stepped inside
a stirring began
the sleeping girl started to wake
unable to sleep from the angry stomach
she harboured inside her

The kale leaped,
desperate to keep their plan a secret until they were ready
tripping over leaves and feet,
they made their way to the refrigerator
just in time to flop to the floor, limp and lifeless.

What was she to assume
other than she may have dropped them
this morning in her hurry to get a water,
never even noticing as they fell to the floor
laying in the warmth all day

She knelt down to pick them up
scooping them into her palms to reach the trash can
but then one of them moved
it wasn’t much
but it was enough

They knew they’d been caught,
it was the youngest, still new to his dark leaves
only just began to be ripped away from the summer
he couldn’t hold still,
so he moved

Killer Kale

Part 1
Summer days turned to winter
wind chilling each who dared to venture
out into the cold days and night
the ones that robbed us of our warm sun and
days of fun.

The vegetables were dying
starving for the light that was once abundantly theirs
They’re hungry
calling out for help in the dead flower beds and
gardens covered in snow

The rot had taken over
consuming every plant within reach of the winter’s
cold
dead
fingers

While the vegetables withered away out in the cold
the people gathered indoors
they sat in front of fires
bundled up with blankets
holding tightly so the cold wouldn’t touch them

One girl really didn’t mind the cold
she felt at home
with the ice and wind
she went for walks
as the others cowered in their homes

The rot’s victims envied her,
her ability to walk in the snow
to leap in the air
never having to worry of what may happen
if she stayed out a little too long

She walked past gardens and trees
asleep for the winter
some never to wake up again
some to come to the next warm day,
playing the waiting game

Some never slept
struggling with their last days of survival
before the cold reaches in and takes
what’s left of the summer days now fades
and disintegrates to nearly nothing

Kale struggled to keep up with the cold
striving to keep warm
jealous of the warmth that the people felt
every time they went inside their homes
forgetting of the plants they tended to all summer

In the summer, the kale thrived
they soaked up the sun
dancing in the warm nights when no one’s out to see
they were loved by the people, if not only temporarily
using their powers for good

But then she had to go and make things terrible
forgetting them in her garden to rot in the winter
taking their brothers and sisters and searing them with the one thing they love
heat
she baked them in a slow and agonizing process

Colors of Winter

Colors Of Winter

Have you seen the color of winter as she knocks upon your door cold from the early morning frost, a chill felt inside tired bones, cracking?
White in texture light to the touch why does it mesmerize us so? Naming it is difficult seeing it harder yet laying upon the killing ground, frozen.

Tears frozen in the darkness begin to cry a melody both sweet and fragrant love can that be you I see standing there? Is that you I behold once again?
Blue, White and Black depict our colors of winter as they lay gently on a maidens shoulder beauty unrehearsed an elegance thought is found.

Warmth can be found through the burning embers as thy lady and her chosen gentleman quietly enjoy the calling night, come here rest thee spirit among friends.
Despair replaced with a touch of faiths hand, she leans out and grabs he who is willing, he who is not afraid to walk the unlit road.

Mysteries unfold as both lovers not strangers recommence their untold journey seeking new tales, stories told to listening hearts.
I have found you once again love cries! , I have found you scattered among the shadows’ my light restoreth a candle within thee, shine now shine forever!

Winter Horrors

This is a Tale of Winter Horrors of the Night
Icicles and Snow Flurries a Massive Fright
On a Mountain Top Where only the Strong Survive
Trapped in a Cave Where You’ll Meet Your Demise
Reduced to a Child Seeing Their Greatest Fear
More Than Anything, Wanting Sunshine to Appear
An Endless Forest Where Survival Seems Meek
Crying for A Lost Loved One That You Seek
Howling Wind and Ice Makes You Feel Confined
Disaster and Death in the Deep Recesses of Your Mind
Will You Live Another Day or Will You Parish
Now That You’re Alone Life is All That You Cherish
Looking for Food or Water Anything Will Suffice
When You Suddenly See Your Dead Child Trapped Under the Ice
Your Mind becomes Warped Riddled with Horror and Guilt
When Sense and Sensibility begin to Wilt
Dying at Your Own Hands Seems Wrong and Disturbing
In the End Living Without Your Child Was Too Disconcerting
PEACE
Peaceful Schuy

Pot of food

Pot of food
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

From me to you
To whoo you to me
This pot cooking
In a storm
You cold ... I warm
Lighting strikes ...
The maple tree is terrified
Our dog's alone are petrified
Windows fear the thunder
The cat run's table under
Hearty beef boiling stable
Misty you sway wet to me
My heart in hope
For lightning to miss you.
The fire keep's it burn
Our house is warm
Your winter food
Waiting on the stove
Wanting you to get home.
     ... but ...
A winter storm
Is just a jealous woman
Her strike will not
Divide us nir seperate.

There I see ...
Your dripping frame
You are at the door
Our beef is warm
" i mean love "
This storm is beat ...
A stew to bring you home.

winter

WINTER

time passes by,
day’s had come
the cold breeze you’ve shared,
mother earth, gives joy to my life.

when the air landed on my skin,
it feels no pain.
the sake of hard work pays off.
i embraces my future and dreams,
to pursue my life and the worth of my family.

loneliness pushes me to do this dedication
urgh.. cold breeze, it eases the pain.
moments enjoyed when i think GOD guided me, to do this away from home.

Winter Comes Again

The snow melts away like it never belonged here,
Although I kept caressing her like a child,
She said she wanted to finish her vengeance,
On the other side of the wild,
Not long ago had she promised to never come back,
To the island of rogation,
Of imagination,
Of isolation,
Where they had destroyed every particle of the white,
That was never a threat, but a promise of the knight,
To protect the lands that stretched beyond the boundaries,
From the rulers of the dead who walked free,
From the signals of the civilized thieves,
Who only stole from the poor and poverty,
But, justice was waiting to perform,
On the minds of the deceitful wise,
With swords made of snow,
And words that cut like ice,
Making them wonder if winter had truly disappeared,
Or was simply beginning to uncover her beautiful fear.
