A Friends Birthday

The years have trickled by

We are getting older, we give a sigh

We realize the friends we have found

Towards old age we all are bound

We treasure the memories we made today

Who knows what tomorrow brings, come what may

We became friends right from the very start

Forever, you will remain in my heart

We have seen years or laughter, and some tears

The joys of life, and moments of fear

As the years have trickled by

We sit and reflect and give a sigh

We are happy to wish you the best

From this birthday ,my friend, to the very last.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Respect The Roots

I’m thankful for slaves who never could understand, “Why do I work for people and get less than the bare minimum wage?”
Why do I go through the pain and suffering if there’s no gain for my family or me? My greats never were a boss and rarely knew who their family was so why live this life if it wasn’t free to be?
My roots nurtured the seeds who helped create opportunities; if we as the people could see how they lived maybe we would be stronger minded people rather than living like we have no sense
We are a culture that is talented in so many ways but we want to be the target of a negative headline news story.
We already seen shackles on our feet, slavery, segregation, and racism against our peace, so why do we still act as if we can’t change the way people perceive us to be
We are not going to blame it on our past because they gave us freedom to see so why can’t we exploit this and live the true meaning of the land of the free
Disregard the negative news and set yourself apart change the way you act so others can see a fresh start
If we started from the bottom now where here isn’t that living proof we can do anything besides spend money on material things but invest in the future or non-profits to help others to build something and have a heart
We can’t just stay a struggle we have to be humble take over the government and make change not think we high class and go to jail for spending money or getting caught up for the wrong things
Set a strong example for these homeless, gangs, prostitutes, and dealers because they are suffering and have only 2 choices that put us on the news headline story in jail or death coming soon
As we lift up those who make a change on the streets or on Capitol Hill we are happy these people are creating an Underground Railroad to victory without suffering and hopefully this stand is coming to all my people to
We got to take charge in numbers instead of sit back all for nothing
If you better yourself from how others use to see you maybe you can see the roots that can help make the change for you as others grow in this thing called a root lifting cycle. Respect the roots.

Birthday Suit Blues

A girlfriend took me to a nudist camp,
And, wrapped up in my overcoat, I sighed;
The sky was grey, the site was chilled and damp;
In shock, I shuddered as I coldly eyed
The frozen naked forms - and tried to hide.
I kept my socks on, shivered with the cold;
My shaking shrunken form was feeling old.
I fetched my sweater, grabbed my trousers too -
And wondered that those bodies were so bold;
But warm, I watched them turning shades of blue.

Just fiction – but I always wonder if nudists wear a sweater on cold days…
For Cyndi’s Birthday Suit contest

Happy Birthday

I am the result of the wrong time
conceived in a moment of passion
two wine soaked minds
upon a fertile field
each combined

In early morn
each to their own way
unknown to either
when their passion died
new life arrived

Too soon discovered
both agreed
it was a mistake
easily fixed
neither could wait

I will never know my father
or loving arms
to hold me near
I have been given a death sentence
with no appeal
or prospect of a stay

I will be aborted
and flushed away
soon to be forgotten
no one to care
no one to wish me
Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Dear Carol Brown (Kyrielle Sonnet)

It’s a great day to shake and bake
Dance, sing, and eat all of your cake
It’s time to wear your dinner gown
Happy Birthday Dear Carol Brown

Upon reaching the Big Six O
Spread and stretch on your patio
Wear your fancy dress into town
Happy Birthday Dear Carol Brown

As you puff out the nice candles
Hold tight onto your chair handles
Smile today and let your hair down
Happy Birthday Dear Carol Brown

It’s a great day to shake and bake
Happy Birthday Dear Carol Brown

Comments: Dedicated to my poet laureate friend Carol Brown. The Kyrielle
Sonnet has 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming
couplet). It has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain in the last line of each
stanza. Each line within the sonnet has eight syllables. The French use the first
and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. This reinforces the refrain
within the poem. The rhyming scheme for a Kyrielle Sonnet normally is: AabB,
ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB.

Happy Birthday Marie, 100

Happy Birthday Marie, 100,
splashed across the evening news.
Replete with colour photograph,
seen wearing another girls shoes.

Happy Birthday Marie, not knowing.
In meltdown, fused in your chair.
Your family, they loved the Queen's telegram,
and look there's the Deputy Mayor!

Happy Birthday Marie, not hearing.
The paper describes you past tense.
Dream of the cat that sits on your lap,
as none of this makes any sense.

Happy Birthday Marie, dementia.
Alone, with your family round,
long suffering daughter bears crucifixed grin,
she's aware you are already drowned.

THE BIRTHDAY OFFERING

The immortal masterpiece

Designed in absolute bliss.

''The stream of love

Murmur into soft music.''

When at the end of the day

The weight of the coffins fell where I lay

Thy mercy brought me to thy door-

My fevered forehead was caressed

By thy affectionate touch.

And my arid heart

Calmed by thy honeyed words.

Those memories are wafted today

On thy birthday.

Empty is my hand

To repay you enormously today

I have only these verses and good wishes

To sing in delightful tunes and sweet kisses.

This is my humble offering

I have no other precious thing

I bow down to you Mother

Again and again at your feet.
