W-hen the fullness of time had come, Jesus was born behind an Inn in a cave-like stable.
I-n the Inn there was no room for the Son of God, no room for the Saviour of men.
S-tar was shining so bright above the stable for the shepherds to find their way to Him.
E-ven angels proclaimed His birth to those shepherds "Unto you is born this day."
M-anger is where Mary and Joseph first laid him. It was filled with hay.
E-very animal there must have known that their Creator had come that day.
N-o one knew the depth of love God had, to give His Son to dwell among men.
S-ame star guided three kings from the Orient, who studied the stars and heavens.
T-hese wise men from the East came saying "Where is He that is born King"
I-n their hands they brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrr.
L-ike these three wise men, wise men still seek him today!
L-ove is the reason that God sent His only Begotton Son into the world to save us.
S-eeking for you and me, yes God was seeking for us because we had left Him.
E-veryone, yes, all we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone to his own way.
E-ach one has to make his on decision to follow Him or not to follow Him.
K-ing, born to be a King. King of the ages. King of the past. King of the future.
H-eaven, He came from Heaven to earth to show us the right way.
I-niquity, the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
M-elody, He gives us a sweet melody, we sing many songs of praise to Him.
T-ree, A Christmas tree, the love that Jesus had for us, to die on a tree.
O-nly one life and how soon it passes. Only in life can we accept His Love.
D-eliverance, He came from Heaven to preach deliverance to the captives.
A-cknowlege Him and accept Him. Behold now is the accepted time.
Y-ou, Yes, this Christmas Love was for You. Will You accept this love?

I am the Grinch
I am I am, you know that I am
The Grinch of Grinch's and so
Don’t call me Sam
For Sam I not am
I am the grouch of this festive season
I take what yours; I need not but one single reason
I will steal all the presents
Every one under the tree
Mummies make up
The golf clubs
And the tickets to the zoo
Why when I leave up that chimney
You can be assured of one fact
I am leaving with full red bag, upon my huge back
I am leaving with gifts that were given with care
I am stealing your presents, and no I won’t ever share
Mine mine mine
All the presents are mine!
All these toys and gifts are all just for me
While I look down at you with nothing under the tree
Oh yes I stole Christmas and turkey and even the lights
You all slept so innocent while I robbed you at night
So I chuckle and laugh, for its a given I have won
I have all the loot and you have but none!
Now the dawn is rising and why I will take a wee peek
To gloat over all the sadness that for sure I have reeked!
Seeing you all sad, and crying with despair
Surely that will make me so happy as to declare
I have won, I have won! I have all that you could ever desire
Why you have not even a log to start up the fire!
Well Timmy and Maya woke up to a surprise
For its true there was nothing under their tree
Why I stole even the tree from those children you see!
I laughed at the expressions I saw on their face
I did so while gloating and without any disgrace
Confused and distraught, I am sure of the state
Mummy and Daddy earlier had seen their robbed fate
They rushed to the village, on their big Swiss sled
With all the villagers shouting!!!!
We’ve been robbed of Christmas; we might as well be dead!
That was not the story to be so you see
For Timmy and Maya came along on that sled
When they saw all the snow and children playing so free
They laughed and danced and said to Papa with such glee
Christmas is here and we have all of our gifts
The laughter and love is what you have smothered us with
Why this is truly the most wonderful of gifts
So the children all danced and played in the snow
The parents so proud has huge smiles aglow
For Christmas was saved but by one small little factor
A child’s love for his parents and his most joyous laughter
The poor old Grinch in his mountain abode
Looking down, he realized he'd been oversold
Why he saw that all the gifts he had cached in his barn
Could not undo the telling of Christmas with all of it generosity and charm
Note: Timmy an Maya being of Swiss decent later scaled the south face of the mountain, with excellent climbing gear, and in co-ordination with Spider Man and James Bond, stormed the Grinch’s castle, tossed him into a Polar Bear pit, and then descended the mountain on Canadian built Bombardier skidoo with a Rolls Royce quit motor and returned all the gifts to the village. Including a huge huge huge bottle of Rum and Postage Stamps.

Snow sprinkles the ground
as delicate as sugar
crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage
only found in the heart of a child's imagination.
Like happiness it can melt in your hands,
and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on
Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth
hugging till the land soaks in it's providence
white like the pages I battle with
Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground
And when it lands,
A blanket of perfection
glistening the season to a crisp
gently the sun arises
"there's no where to go today,
I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

There is nothing with so much life as a Christmas snow
The crisp air is still as little dancing stars float to the earth
Strong old trees become burdened with drifts of white upon their bows
But seem honored to be dressed in such finery and appear almost to move
In fact, everything has come to life to watch the snowfall.
Then everything is quiet
There is a whisper in the air
It ripples through the trees
See the birds, they are the first to recognize the whisper
As the Masters of Chorus, the birds know it is a song
They sit as true musicians memorizing the lyrics and rhythm
So, the snow speaks, the voice is old, like it has sung this song many times
As the squirrels could tell you this is a lullaby, and they begin to search from their
perches in the trees for the newborn
And life and love has never felt as strong as now
A horse in its pastures stomps his foot disturbed
Though he hears the song the birds do and the lullaby the squirrels hear, he,
along with all of the worlds creatures, could swear he just heard a cry
The squirrels chatter with laughter, knowing they where right and the birds take
up the snow-song to welcome the child they heard cry
And then they stop and the world is silent
The snow has stopped falling
The cry was only a memory from Christmas long past
The child, a child of time whose
Voice comes with the Christmas snows,
To give every soul the chance to hear
The song of joy and love and beginning,
So it is never forgotten;
The song of the Christmas Snow

Oh the day of Christmas 2020!
The snow has for long, been pushed further into the year.
I shan't spill a single tear.
Christmas this year is beautiful that I in my prime of Twenty Three am so glad.
I am so glad that you could spend it with me, my wonderful.
You are my breath of fresh air, my tender kiss.
You are my only Christmas wish.
Your beautiful glossy dark hair.
Followed with a loving oh so, tender stare.
You were my Christmas past.
You are my Christmas present.
And you... You will be my Christmas future.
There is no hate on Christmas day.
Tender loving care, here and away.
I’m glad that I can spend it with you.
My heart beats fast when your air fills the room.
My eyes tear up at the sound of your beautiful voice.
My hands bloom for your radiant glow.
Because I know, you know.
What I want for Christmas this year.

To Colleen Bono A Precious Soup Member.
Gift to Colleen Christmas and Always!
Poets are gifts, to a world often bleak
Their deepest emotions, often they speak.
Sensitive hearts, much more than the rest
No choice were they given, they must stand the test.
Often the world, they see in despair
The trials and troubles, of life everywhere.
Depression more common, than not do we see.
But this is the depth, of our inner tree.
A tree we must climb, to branches more high
To witness the joy, our strength to apply.
Our deepest prayers, to God only knows
Our words often scribbled, due to our woes.
Do not disregard! Do not despair!
Do not give up! Handle with care!
A gift from MD, who sees the mind blight
Listen and learn, and all will be right.
Release all your fears, today is the day
There isn’t a problem, that won’t go away!
Be mindful of worth! Be mindful of gifts!
Your presence alone, would greatly be missed!
So sensitive child, these words I must say
You’re one of God’s chosen, Don’t Throw This Away!
Reach out for a hand, To help climb this tree.
Trust me I know, The beauty you’ll see.
Your sensitive gifts , are waiting to bloom!
Maybe you’re tired? Maybe you’re gloom?
But trust in the knowledge, Of God and MD’s.
This too shall pass, just wait and see.
Life is a gift, we make it our own.
You have many gifts, the lights may be dim.
Wash out your eyes, clean out the smart.
Look up to God, And OPEN your heart!
HE has a plan, With just YOU in mind!
You’re one of his SPECIALS, You’re One of a Kind!
The sensitive ones, who make the world round
With talents and gifts, and depth so abound.
Reach out and restore, your heart and your mind
Lift up your head, NOW is the time!
To make a big change, and climb to the top
Each has a tree, this is our job.
Your life is so precious, your worth is so true.
You’re Special to God, because HE made you!
So carry on child, Be not afraid!
You have much to do, do not delay.
I’m watching you grow, so steady I’ll be
Now it’s your turn, to climb UP the Tree.

She stood at her window,
looking out on the world,
alone this Christmas,
this frightened young girl.
The night had come,
without making a sound,
as the snow began falling,
lightly powdering the ground.
when she said I Do,
her childhood sweetheart,
and their love so true.
Ready to see,
this world as one,
planning their first Christmas,
so much left undone.
Then one day,
that dreaded letter arrived,
orders to leave,
and she held it and cried.
When he came home,
he held her close,
trying to comfort her,
reminding her, why he had to go.
He told her softly,
I love you so,
but I am a soldier,
this is what I chose.
Decorate our tree,
in red, white, and blue,
and this time next year,
I'll be back home with you.
Merry Christmas to our Military,
their families, and friends.
We love you all,
and our prayers we send......

The snow fell gently on a quiet street
Neighbors walked in without knocking
There was a feeling of joy in the air
As each child hung up their stocking
There was a coal fire in the heatrola
Which took a little while to start
O Come All Ye Faithful on the radio
And a warmth radiating from each heart
The kids all went to bed early
Couldn't sleep until early morn
Waiting for presents from Santa
And to celebrate the day Christ was born.

I do not know?
Once upon a Christmas dreaming
Alphabets of spelling sleep,
Coal and snow plumed shrouded wreaths,
Fantasia minds plunged ever teeming
Distant choral souls redeeming,
Silence weeping, starlight beaming,
Light years bursting solar sheaths.
Whatever lost craved warmth and finding,
Rang the bells and rapped the brass,
Crept a creep of holy stealth,
Midnight chimed, the clock unwinding,
Visual feasts of gospels blinding,
Shadows lifted, ever minding
Love bestowing priceless wealth.
In the veils of crystals falling
Carols gelled with latticed ice,
Knitted pearls of liquid frost,
The songs of Christmas past were calling,
Eerie, wistful caterwauling,
Heaven bent on reinstalling,
Beckoned home whatever lost.
Once upon a Christmas waking
To a world of perfect white,
Love and caring left the grave
And arms wrapped bodies live and shaking,
Purest beauty in the making,
Gifts for giving, gifts for taking,
And all we took was all we gave.

“Sir Cliff Richard ”
I do wish I could meet you, properly I mean,
To actually speak to you, would be a dream.
I’ve been to see you three times during the last few years,
Although sitting watching you almost reduced me to tears,
Tears of happiness that is, I hasten to add.
I’ve adored you from afar, since you were not much more than a lad.
Twice I have seen you at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall,
Doing your Gospel Concert, but there were no seats left in the stall.
So up at the very top we sat.
I was scared to move in case I fell flat.
Then you came on and started to sing.
It was a fantastic experience I would not have missed it for anything.
Although we went to see you in October, they had Christmas trees on the stage,
Because the show was being recorded for the Christmas edition of Songs of Praise.
When it came on television, I videoed it so I could watch it all over again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.
My favourite songs are “From A Distance” and “The Twelfth Of Never.”
I could listen to you, forever and ever.
I also like the song you did for Princess Di.
Although when I listen to it, I really could cry,
Especially the words, “All That Matter’s in the End Will Be,
The Love In You And The Love In Me.
With a 20 Year Tranquillizer Addiction, and Agoraphobia,
I’ve Been To Hell and Back.
But Thank God, My Life Is Now Back ON Track.
I sat with 12,000, People at Sheffield Arena, Just to see You,
Years ago this would have been impossible for me to do,
Now my greatest wish in life is too,
Get The Chance Just To Meet You.

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,
i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,
once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

songs came from the hills of Virginia to the black Mountains
surfacing in Tennessee for all to hear and wish to see
The day when one travelled by car on the road travelled

The day when we knew our neighbors and bought homes with a paystub
Everyone had a chance to make their own with pride , even through wars
When Martin Luther King stood proudly as did President Lincoln for Freedom
How many streets have been named after the man whom had a dream ?
When milk was delivered on doorsteps in Glass bottles

TEARS ON SANTA'S CHEEKS
Daddy's little girl is going.
Daddy's little girl is slowly leaving...
it's what the angels are singing
Outside there are ringing laughter, however--
in a hospital bed
which was cold white as the snow
lies the body of a little girl,
d e a d.
Her little soul just had to go.
She just had to go ahead than the others.
Her once sun kissed face now the palest cream.
Her once twinkling eyes now shut so tight.
The glow of light and love she always bring
was lost on Christmas night,
as Santa stood in red and white
holding a present on his hands
staring at the child
his eyes wet with falling tears
for his little girl has died.

As I struggle with thoughts about life,
I pack up Christmas items:
(1) Removed Christmas China decorated with holly
(2) Stacked up those gold charger plates now no party
(3) Bagged up the centerpiece, removed green candles
(4) Things beginning to look in shambles
(5) Check those Christmas placemats
(6) Clean spots can tell we are not aristocrats
(7) Fold pine green Damask Tablecloth
(8) The naked table stands like a Behemoth_
Well, in my old age I am beginning to match the table..

There were things of mine in the drawers that could be thrown out,
But I kept gravitating to the things that were his.
His Public School 45 autograph book. It was red, white, and blue leatherette with
Inside was his hand, writing the names of favorite teachers,
And the dreams of the future you have when you are 13.
His father, an old world German who never shared himself,
left ink blotches of emotion under his hand.
In another drawer, the fancy leather passport wallet complete with passport and
He was 16.
I don’t remember him talking about anything else with the same twinkle in his
As he did about the 6 months he spent in Germany.
Here is a poem written to him on his 40th birthday,
by his best friend in the world.
The gift made so much better because it was so unlike this IBM Executive
to write personal poetry full of memories.
There was an untouched underwear drawer.
Cards of love and joy that I had given to him over many years.
A collection of Christmas wallets.
A yo-yo. Gift from a child with nothing else to give.
Old prescription glasses. Why do we keep those? Pocket knives, hankies.
A sweater and socks I knitted for him,
Always said they were too good to wear.
I store them still.
Every drawer I opened, every cupboard, every box stored away throughout the
whole house had something of his tucked away within.
A stray bullet or black powder ball. A toothpick holder.
A cork screw. A flint, patches, pictures of his ‘49 Olds, a comb, a watch, pocket
~ Maybe if I go clean someplace safe like the fridge.
And there was the bottle of Zeller Schwartz Katz wine
bought for the coming Christmas season of entertaining.
This is foolishness, hanging on.
In spite of saving all this stuff
the hole in me is still there. ...
But I just could not throw him away.

CHRISTMAS YEAR 0
The wind did swirl around me
The snow my vision impaired
The coat and hood were no good
For once I didn't care
The season was the reason
Just a few more days in time
And the Lord Jesus Christ's Birth
Would once more fill our lives
The year is 2011
And regardless of what is said
December 25th is the day
I set above the rest
I know the word Christmas
Has turned into many terms
But the soul that rests within me
Still believes the miracle occurs
What the future holds
When the truth does prevail
Those of us who celebrate His Birth
Will near His Throne remain
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JESUS

~Oh Christmas Tree~
(Tree of Life)
So full of light
Up there shining high.
Love watching you all time
Lighting up all the streets,rooms.
Happy faces glowing all around.
During Christmas season you bring cheer
Jesus is the reason for this season.
As we celebrate that Jesus Christ was born,
With pretty decorations and beautiful lights.
Oh Christmas tree, you are a lovely sight to behold
With a bright star
For the King came.

your flowers came the other day
so wild and free like me
all colors graced the lovely vase
so beautiful to see
at first i didn't read the card
so busy in my work
i simply put them on my desk
assuming them a perk
so many flowers gifts and things
appear each day on angels wings
its christmas time again you see
i never thought you'd think of me
you passed away six months ago
without you time just goes so slow
i know your in a better place
oh God to only see your face
and then a chill came over me
and all was plain for me to see
you thought ahead and had them sent
all though my love your life was spent
these flowers came from you above
and given with such life and love
you knew how much i loved them so
and in my heart they'll always grow...
Merry Christmas darling
Thank you for the flowers!

I do not know?
It's Christmas! Christmas!
That time of year
When people are filled...
With holiday cheer?
Yeah right. . .
I really do wish it were true
But people are people
Through and through
It's not about happiness anymore
Or in respect to what matters.
In reality it concerns what you get
And the food that is piled on the platters.
What has happened to the world of today?
Where is the 'loving and giving...'?
Now it is all just me, me, me.
Is this a nightmare? Or are we actually living.
Yep we might have a lot of things
Hang on! Let's add some more
It isn't the family that I'm expecting
But the postman knocking at the door.
When the topic turns to Christmas cheer
Lets go stuff our faces...
Break out all that lovely beer!
Chuck away those graces!
But... Suddenly the month is over
There go all the gifts you gave
Your debt payments crawl closer and closer
And you become a material slave.

To eulogize your life when we have spent so many years apart
gives me comfort and memories of your precious passed life
You speak to me in my dreams and share images of a castle by the stream
it's walls shine of elegance a beauty of luster gold for your soul it now holds
My Mother, you are now a jewel of heaven, a gem in God's crown
as his loving arms hold you and his angels wings wrap around.
I know you sit in the room of hearts and some day you will take me in your arms,
while the angels play their harps like the soft swaying sound of a violin my soul
will then depart.
As I stroll to the waters edge of sadness and my reflection is looking back
I see my mothers wonderful smile our characteristics and mannerism
you blessed me as a child.
Tonight I will sleep and you will whisper in my ear all the stories
from the day that I was born, taking away my sadness and
giving me comfort to help me not to mourn.
So on Christmas morn when I awake from my dream that we shared
I will not see the lights from my Christmas tree
only the glow from the angel who has given me a life and a soul that is free.

With you, while winter`s white is witness of good willed;
The glass works and the hot red wine spreading light:
Comforting carols “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.
Comforting thoughts of good like good miners,
And cakes a lot with names of saints and sinners
Looking the heart of sweet cherries strudel under the sight
Of mother humming “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.
Smoldering embers and feeling like hot chocolate
With scent of incense offered to every Christian mate
Under the new temptation of good and hope of right
Teaching of church on “Silent Night”,under “Brad Frumos”
The sacrifice of the pig, a ritual Symphony in red,
At the other side of modal logic, with wine and bread
And slaughtered pig and soured soups that might
Be prepared and savored on "Silent Night" ,near “Brad Frumos”
The aromatic smoke ascending, and dancing heavenly
Like our attempt to preserve and conserve not only
The clay and flash creature but also the inner light
And so many candles to see the Light on “Silent Night”...

All I remember is going into the garage to get the snow shovel.
I am not even sure how much of the driveway I managed to shovel. Apparently, I was lying in the snow for several hours before one of the neighbors noticed me.
The next thing I remember is waking up from a deep sleep to the sounds of beeping machines with tubes and wires stuck into and on my body.
As I slowly regained consciousness and my eyes were able to focus, I was aware of a young, bald child looking down on me.
“Hi,” said the smiling, angelic face. Given the child’s age and complete baldness, I could not tell whether they were a boy or a girl. And, with the tube inserted in my throat and taped to my mouth, I was in no position to return their salutation.
I tried to remember who this child might be and why they were here with me. I guess my eyes displayed my confusion as the child said, “I'm Elizabeth. They let me walk around the hospital a little. Sometimes I sneak out of the oncology wing and look for people who have no visitors. I like to make sure someone is there when they wake up. I know I always like to see someone when I wake up from my operations.”
She just stood above me smiling. I then noticed she was holding my hand.
“Sometimes it is hard for family members or friends to come visit. Some people just really don’t like hospitals. And, I guess”, she said, “not everybody has someone that close to them. So, I like to become their visitor for them. I hope you don’t mind.”
I didn’t mind. Although it did make me embarrassed to realize that I fit in the latter category; I didn’t have anybody that close to me.
She just smiled at me and petted my hand as the medications worked their magic on me and I started to drift back off to sleep. I heard a nurse come into the room and say, “There you are, Honey. You need to get back to your room now and leave this nice man be.”
The next time I regained consciousness, I noticed a hand drawn picture of a house with a Christmas tree out front with a note that said, “I hope you get home before Christmas” and was signed by Elizabeth.
Each new day, I was welcomed by another drawing of Christmas scenes; smiling faces; reindeer; and, starry skies. All containing a happy note and all signed, ”Love, Elizabeth”.
After ten days of recovery and following the insertion of two stents into my heart, I was well enough to return to my empty home. On my way out of the hospital, I stopped by the Oncology Wing to say good-bye and thank you to Elizabeth. When I asked the nurse at the floor station where I could find Elizabeth, she replied, “Oh I'm sorry, Elizabeth is no longer with us.”
I then said, “Well can you tell me her home address or phone number, I would really like to thank her for visiting me in my hospital room this past week.”
The look on the nurse’s face indicated that I misunderstood what she had meant. Elizabeth was no longer with us.
Sadly, I started walking towards the exit.
Just before I got to the elevator, I noticed an open door with a man lying on his bed, with tubes in his nose and throat and nobody else in the room with him. I went into his room and sat in the empty chair.
When he opened his eyes two hours later, I said, “Hi, I'm Joe. I noticed there was nobody here when you were brought back from your operation and I know how nice it is to see a smiling face when you wake up, so I thought I would sit here with you for a while. I hope you don’t mind.”
He squeezed my hand; gave a slight smile; and, slowly drifted off back to sleep.

A fine fix we’re in
A real grumpy old grandpa
A house full of pure chaos
And none happy at this time
What will we do now
This year has come to an end
So very quickly
No one’s pleasantly moping
Everyone’s in displeasure
Just one Christmas wish
For a household of happiness
Joy for everyone
A wish of delightful laughs
Cozy warmth to each other
Just this simple wish
Is all I ask for this year
Not a possible task
For myself to do alone
I need Santa’s help for sure
After the blessing
I will offer what you will
A holiday toast
Thank you for your services
For granting my Christmas wish

Christmas day is coming soon
I can hear the little drummer boys beat
As I sleep under a stack of newspapers
At my home here on the street
I have no shade from the summer heat
No shelter from a spring storm
When autumn and winter roll around
I have no blanket to keep me warm
I have no one to talk to
No doctor to keep me well
My life is like the seventh circle
Of an everlasting hell
I have no feast on Thanksgiving
On my birthday, I have no cake
Most nights as I sleep in my concrete bed
I pray and hope I won't wake
I think about the man I used to be
The one that died so long ago
Now all that's left is this scruffy, filthy creature
Who I don't even know
Now that Christmas is here again
I pray to the good Lord above
For a gift that most don't appreciate
Filled with lots of happiness and love
I'm not talking about material things
I can get by without any of that
All I want is a house and a family
Complete with a dog and a cat
I wish every single Christmas season
That my dear, sweet Lord would send me
A beautiful family with warm, smiling faces
Sipping hot chocolate around a Christmas tree
We would have a most amazing feast
A rack of lamb tied up with a bow
Then we would all get bundled up
And go caroling in the snow
Oh, how glorious that would be
To have a family and a few friends
To have people who love me
Even after this life ends
God please hear my prayers
And answer them if you can
Just grant one simple Christmas wish
To this old homeless man

I took a trip to the florist,
This past Christmas Eve morn.
And happened by a homeless man,
Who seemed lost, and forlorn.
He said: “Good sir, I need your help,
I don’t seek to deceive,
I need some roses for mama.
For it is Christmas Eve.”
“But they act as though I’m not there,
These florists must be blind!”
He handed me his change and asked,
If I would be so kind.
He’d saved enough for three long stems,
Not much of a bouquet,
But cheerfully he shook my hand,
And then was on his way.
Convinced that I’d done my good deed,
I bought some for my wife.
Two dozen beautiful roses,
For the love of my life.
Driving past the cemetery,
I saw that homeless man.
Kneeling beside his mother’s grave,
And so I parked my van.
My heart was broken by that sight,
I knew not what to say.
I mindfully approached the grave,
Offering my bouquet,
He said: “You meant those for your wif
They should not leave your hand.”
I said, my wife knows I love her,
And she will understand.
I placed them on his mother’s grave,
As tears rolled down his face.
And I was lost in the moment,
Suspended in that place.
Then from behind, a man inquired,
If I had been a friend.
I told him “no, I’m with her son,”
He did not comprehend.
When I pointed at the roses,
The homeless man was gone.
The stranger said, “You’ve seen him too?”
Was he putting me on?
He said, “I believe your story.
For I’ve seen him as well;
On Christmas Eve, six years ago,
A tale I rarely tell.”
He said there’s something I should know,
And quickly clarified.
“It was back in nineteen ninety,
When this homeless man died.”
He came here every Christmas Eve,
Until his final breath.
It’s a practice he’s continued,
All these years, since his death.
Sometimes it takes a miracle,
To make someone believe.
Mine came with roses for mama,
One special Christmas Eve.
