Mountain Solitude

*

In solitude of the edge of day, there is a crimson blush along the hills

And a world switches direction, ......as if to tumble into eternity

Where shadows of the mountains, high, hover silently, over asphalt roads,.....
bend and curl, and morph their shapes... to follow curves of earth

When the shadow of a lonely pine becomes longer,.......
than ever the tree was tall

When my own silhouette, so dark and stretched, and long,......
seems to walk between earth and sky

In utter harmony at end of day, my arms seem longer,...
long enough,... to reach the evening star

POE IN TREE

I have dropped my pains on pages of poems,
the ink in my pen treasures my groans, the
quill is my sword, with edges sharp enough
to sculpt the perfect picture, the quill is the
only thing you got when those devils try to
get ya, the only warmth when those men or
women forget ya, I bet ya a million bucks
and yes it sucks, but poetry is more than
just writing, its healing, remedy of feeling,
dealing with the worst of you, quenched the
thirst of you, a doctor or a nurse to you,
sometimes you get delusions and think it
gave birth to you, as it pours on its immensity
of worth on you, that's what enchanting words
will do.

One day I gave poe to a dying tree
now it has grown it looks fine to me, boy oh
boy the tree said to me, if it wasn't for your
poe in tree another day I wouldn't have seen,
but now I have STRONG roots running below
city's a million feet strong and a billion feet
long and I can stand to bear the blues jay on
my branches, with songs all day long, I wrote his
song it went like this poe in tree poe in tree gave
ETERNAL bliss to thee, oh by the way, I am
the tree saved by poe in tree poetry poetry

Tree, Roots and the Light

Tree Roots and the Light

The tall Tree was Flying, its leaves high in the sky,

Trying to go beyond the flying kites, towards the light,

Its roots were trying to penetrate the soil,

Heading in the deep darkness, it kept moving without a shine.

Higher its branches touched the Crown of mirth,

Touching the lofty heights of light and the sky,

Its leaves and branches were flying and dancing,

In the joy of touching Light and those untouched, heights.

Some where, not far beyond the skies, lives dearest of our heart and soul,

I saw the Tree kept moving towards that One, it always adored,

While its beloved roots too, were silently busy in supporting,

Without which, the Tree can never even stand to touch the lofty scores.

I thought and wondered, which one contributes more,

In touching the limitless, lofty heights and the glow of the sky,

The stem, which is blessed to touch the sky, or the roots that resembles,

A true beloved without which, the stem even can not stand for a while.

The Tall tree was standing before me, unfolding its love towards the Sky,

With a high and prideful head in the sky, the tree was heading towards the glow,

Far away from its beloved roots, to feel the serene touch in the limitless sky,

Going a little closer to that Glow, which we adore and love and call Almighty.

"Evil Twin"

"Spiritual Narrative"

After life began, appeared “Evil Twin” mind’s obvious sin
‘Evil’ naught of nothing, using the power of love’s “something”
Giving rise to evil self, far to left, image of self
Love created, but mind deviated, it’s love abated

Love’s logic created Soul, but I am so bold, left heart’s gold
Lost in a wilderness mind, became the Soul of evil twin
Lost in it’s philosophies, mind’s logic of complexities
Has philosophically debated, Love that created

Saying, ‘how can this Love be the reality of me
I shall exalt above, this creation of heaven’s Love’
But crucifixion of mind regains Love’s self in time
As the mind is refined, Soul is re-aligned, with Love’s vine

Man’s discoveries, pieces of the recoveries, of true self
As pieces of the mind crucified, must learn to abide
From Love light’s truth cannot hide, reality has not lied
Being one with reality, God true technicality

Evil self is naught, except, in a mind of worldly thoughts
Live of your mind if your will, create life’s bitter pill
Your bitter pill will not spill, into Sacred Heart’s will
This proverb is proverbial, `Tis non swerve able

Within one’s love, one must abide, for on death’s cross it was tried
Also mind must abide, for on the cross was proven it lied
Death and life was set before, human mind to explore
To show evil twin, death’s sin, just no way for death to win

Make a tree good or make a tree evil, for is by man’s choice
Lie on God if your will, lie `Tis your own bitter pill’
`Tis by your own choice, by your own voice, `Good or Evil’
Death failed, life’s tree stands still, on yonder hill, alive and well

Love Is Who You Are ( NOT, Just Something You Do ) Part 2

The mind has become a problem,
This ghost and goblin,
Throughout Love’s land!

The mind’s imagination,
Took over,
Love’s invitation,
By a tree of divided information!
It’s like, being love,
But having a relation,
With life and death information!

There was a tree of strife,
Placed in the midst of love’s life,
For purpose of decision,
That caused the house of division!

But a decision was given, to twiddle dee,
For love you see,
Is what the mind’s twiddle dee, be!
But he must see,
By experience, what is best to be,
For the sot has forgotten,
His beloved soul with his cotton,
Love’s seed of the begotten!

For, for the mind to be,
He must truly see,
The love he be!
For love already knows,
As the mind only blows,
What love’s life is yet to learn!
For love created the life,
That mind turned to strife!

With mind being only a part to life,
Let no man deceive you with vain words,
The old man needs a good purge,
Then his life would surge,
With a holy urge,
to be the love of his life,
Not a goblin of strife!

We are love,
From the inside,
What mind tries to hide,
On the outside!

God the I am is love,
From above,
The same as I am inside,
My, I am is love!
But what I be,
Sometimes is twiddle dee,
Of the mind on the outside,
The real me, I try to hid!
Like Adam and Eve,
With the fig leaves!

We must learn to confide,
On the inside,
By the outside,
To be the love that we are,
From the inside,
Outside!

As night creeps in

Night creeps in

How does one put it into words?
This beauty all around
This little camp in Pemberton
Such bliss there, I have found
I stand outside this tiny Chalet
Surrounded by green trees
As I melt into the song of life
And feel sweet mystery

I do not know the names of all
These trees that do surround me
The furthest ones be Karri trees
So vast and tall they be
As the shadows shade them into darkness
And fill them with such power
Then closer be a wattle tree
All filled with yellow flowers.

To see these trees dance on the breeze
Is a pleasure to the eye
As Sheep feed on the lush green grass
The day begins to die
The night time creeps on up to me
And birds sing goodnight songs
As I feel that here in Pemberton
My heart it does belong.

" Logic? "

To every thing there is a season,
A time to bring the reasoning,
Higher logic` of heart’s project,
Into view, for the mind to review,

For some say the mind` is the only logic,
Leaving love’s heart without a project,

This mistake, takes the cake,
From this illusion` humanity must awake,

For tis the season` for higher reasoning,
And this will we do, as through God we pursue,

Love’s higher logic` God’s higher project,
An undertaking` of re-awakening,
A mind asleep, by it’s peep,

God’s Logic; the cosmic of higher mind’s project,......................................(Isaiah 55:8-9)
Love’s Faith; built on higher logic,..............................................(Hebrews 11:1-3 & 5-6)
Not on humanity’s` earthly minded projects,
For it will always try to dodge it,
By lower logic,
Actually` enough said, the lower mind level logic` is dead,.......................(Genesis 2:16-17)

While actually, God’s higher logic, the cosmic mind’s project, did not dodge it,
Respect of love` gave the choice to man, the level of plan,
By level of chosen logic, man chose his own project,
By tree of life, or tree of strife,
Would it be life, by tree of life,
Or death’s tree, of the mind’s strife,
The heart's, sacred start,
Or mind’s depart, from it’s heart,

Now you know the rest of the story, life’s glory,
For death was impaled, the stake did not fail, love swelled,...............(Colossians 2:13-14)
Drawing us all by love, above,
The logic of death,
That death` the mind did bequeathed,
Leave the dead dogs, lying in the grass,
For death has passed!!

Dedication; "Diogenes Zuniga " I though of your personal undying faith in Love, the higher
logic of God, who is love. All the while I was writing this, may God richly reward you with
many fruits of love's logical righteousness, for it is the true riches of heaven. Stay logical, in
love, my brother. Sincerely, Moses

The Gift

The tree outside the window was bare,
its branches black thrust through the air,
like a nightmare in daylight lingers,
its branches resembled evil fingers.

The sky behind was stony gray,
it looked like it might rain that day,
I briefly wondered why I'd woke,
sat up in bed and lit a smoke.

So quiet is it by the lake!
My ears felt hollow, began to ache,
a city girl, I'm used to sound,
the ambient noise of a busy town.

What if I'd turned the TV on,
would the vacuum inside the room be gone?
The cat, I noted, was fast asleep,
a lump beneath the quilts and sheet.

I glanced again at the blank TV,
then looked once more at the skeletal tree,
it seemed to sigh as if forlorn,
just waiting for Spring to be reborn.

For a moment, I just sat and stared,
the sky so gray, the tree so bare,
stark silhouette of black on gray,
the tomb-like silence where I lay.

These turned my mind to darker things,
my boring job, the fatigue it brings,
scattered off-days wasted sleeping,
life-force through my fingers seeping.

Sleep all day and work all night,
wonder if there's an end in sight,
keep a brave face so they won't see
how this schedule's killing me.

Just then I saw a flash of red,
though depressed, I raised my head,
A cardinal sat and cocked his head,
the black, the gray, the brilliant red.

I see the beauty in the starkness,
a flash of hope among the darkness,
this perfect scene a gift to me,
the genius, its simplicity.

And as I felt my depression lift,
God granted me another gift.
He knew just how to ease my woes,
before my eyes, it began to snow.

It's snowed so rarely in my life,
each memory's sharper than a knife,
the cardinal flutters in the tree,
and shakes me from my reverie.

The magic of life is quiet and subtle,
the bud of a rose, a mirror-like puddle,
the magic is there if you let yourself see,
like the snow swirling 'round the bird in the tree.

Solomon Mahlangu: My Blood will Nourish the Tree that will Bear the Fruits of Freedom

(special thanks to a friend who shared this tribute to Solomon Mahlangu)

Solomon Mahlangu: My Blood will Nourish the Tree that will Bear the Fruits of Freedom:

Solomon Mahlangu was trained as an MK soldier with a view to later rejoining the struggle in the country.

He left South Africa after the Soweto Uprising of 1976 when he was 19 years old, and was later chosen to be part of an elite force to return to South Africa to carry out a mission commemorating the June 16th 1976 Soweto student uprising.

After entering South Africa through Swaziland and meeting his fellow comrades in Duduza, on the East Rand (east of Johannesburg), they were accosted by the police in Goch Street in Johannesburg.

In the ensuing gun battle two civilians were killed and two were injured, and Mahlangu and Motloung were captured while acting as decoys so that the other comrade could go and report to the MK leadership.

Motloung was brutally assaulted by the police to a point that he suffered brain damage and was unfit to stand trial, resulting in Mahlangu facing trial alone.

He was charged with two counts of murder and several charges under the Terrorism Act, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Though the judge accepted that Motloung was responsible for the killings, common purpose was argued and Mahlangu was found guilty on two counts of murder and other charges under the Terrorism Act.

On 15 June 1978 Solomon Mahlangu was refused leave to appeal his sentence by the Rand Supreme Court, and on 24 July 1978 he was refused again in the Bloemfontein Appeal Court.

Although various governments, the United Nations, International Organizations, groups and prominent individuals attempted to intercede on his behalf, Mahlangu awaited his execution in Pretoria Central Prison, and was hanged on 6 April 1979.

His hanging provoked international protest and condemnation of South Africa and Apartheid.

In fear of crowd reaction at the funeral the police decided to bury Mahlangu in Atteridgeville in Pretoria.

On 6 April 1993 he was re-interred at the Mamelodi Cemetery, where a plaque states his last words:

‘My blood will nourish the tree that will bear the fruits of freedom.

Tell my people that I love them.

They must continue the fight.’

Mahlangu died for a cause!

Salute!

The Struggle Continues…

Crazy

My friends and I had midnight hide and seek
One had to stand by a tree and not peek
In my state of hiding great I was hard to find
My friends decided to just be unkind
They all got together and decided to hunt me down
I first hid in the river near my house and almost drown
When they walk close by me I silently move through the grass
It was very hard to see, but I crawled a long time and almost ran out of gas
Then I heard one say that they were going up and wait by the tree
I had an idea that made a way to make them see
A shadow that ran in the distance thinking that would be
I had my horse pull a little manikin to make them think it was me
My friends took their flashlight and shined it toward it
I thought I had them but one thing was clear they did not fall for it not a bit
They all laugh and started to call out my name
They all asked how the heck did you have time to pull that trick that was so lame
I did not answer so they kept on looking for me, but I was so quick
Some of my friends started to get really mad and tick
I was a master of doing weird things they all knew what I can do
The night was still young and the grass was collecting dew
I decided to make a distraction once again
To think of it, it would probably make the night end
My friends finally surrounded my tree house
I was quiet, so quiet, more than a mouse
I had some rope in the tree house to make my escape
To distract them I made a loud noise like an ape
The tree that my tree house was in was at least forty feet up
I had some stash in my tree house a drink or two in a cup
My final hour is about to end I did not want my friends to catch me till I got to the tree
I took the rope and tide it on a branch and pushed off and that was the key
I landed on the garage roof and sneaked my way to the tree
My friends knew me to well that they plan things before I could see
They had a fish net ready for me to step into
I thought that was kinda wise and some what like pew
The few feet by the tree there was two of my friends that was ready
Up in the tree they both jumped down and pulled me up in the net fast and steady
They thought they had won, the person had to tag me before I touch tree
She ended up having to get something to stand on to reach me
I swung my weight back and forth till I ended up touching and the game ended
My friends and I were so full of surprises and that is what the game handed

A Shady Tree

I know its the summer time because of how naturally
Your beauty compliments the caress of a summer breeze
As I watch the world from beneath a shady tree
I take in the delightful comfort of everything I see
But in the same breath I am holding up my hands
Lord will you please give me back the things I no longer have
They are even more a part of me now that they are gone
As the sun falls below where the horizon is still holding on
Somewhere between the falling light and a star lit night
Is a dream that last forever and will never say goodbye
As the wind gently blows through the brush and shakes the leaves
It begins to hum a melody that I want to sing
At that very moment I smile for all the joy I have
Its so uplifting for me to see melancholy dance
Soon the morning sun will rise and capture my eyes
As I watch the hand of God paint a brand new sky
With every stroke of color I swallow all my pride
And I find a new place to dream of endless times
If I should ever get to the place I left my broken heart
Only then will I believe this brand new day will start
Again Im reminded of why my heart beats so restlessly
Only the speed of thought and my soul beneath this tree

The Autumn Affect

There's something unspecific about the autumn nights
A certain shade of color that uplifts my inner child's eyes
Beside a cashmere moon Venus and Jupiter shine bright
Complimented by a sea of blinking infinite twilight
The scent of burning oak lingers in the air from home made fires
Reminiscent of a time when this man was just a child
Careless and so free to dream and any dream to live
Like feathers floating across a field carried by the wind
As a gentle breeze blows through the leaves shivering delightful gloom
Unlike flowers of springtime the disheveled autumn vibrance bloom
Leaves crackle beneath my feet along the skeleton tree path
Where I try to find my peace or a song to make me laugh
The air is so much crisper and also soothing when I breathe it in
Underneath a starry sky and brighter constellations of Heaven
Amidst the trail I pass a lovely couple holding hands
While their children run aside frolicking in a playful dance
An old man and his wife admire the view from a wooden bench
With smiles on their face as if nostalgia is still their closest friend
Its these specific autumn affects that bring me sorrows and joy
Reminding me of all theses things Ive wanted as a man since I was a little boy
Its times like these that I wish I wasn't always so alone
Because I would light an fire with my family and call it home

Summer Memories From The Tree of Life

Summer season was my childhood’s greatest fun time,
We played with toys out of a coconut tree which is a tree of life,
We built little houses beautifully and so high as we climbed
Like a flying trapeze on its leaves, we swung so high.

We played with toys made of coconut trees, the tree of life,
My playmates joined me in building little houses using a dull knife,
Out of its leaves and midribs, we made walls, roofs and doors,
Pretended as good cooks with its coconut shells and fruits.

My playmates joined me in building little houses using a dull knife
Pretended to live together as families with husband and wife,
I took the role of an elder sister in our little comfortable house
I combed the hair of a younger sibling with a coco midrib brush.

Pretended to live together as families with a husband and wife
Just like small neighborhood or community along the riverside
We chose one of the eldest playmates to be the group captain,
The leader of unity and cooperation in building more tents.

Just like small neighborhood or community along the riverside
We helped one another as piles of coco leaves we made as rides,
We made unique toys out of leaves and roots as much as we could
Like trumpets when blown, we covered our ears for its loud sound.

We helped one another as piles of coco leaves we made as a ride
We webbed balls, insects and other toys for a surprise to hide,
When the captain signaled to show who's the most had a reward
Then ran with our wind vanes to the beach and marched forward.

We webbed balls, insects and other toys for a surprise to hide
We played with toys out of a coconut tree which is a tree of life,
When the captain signaled us to show the most had a reward
A wonderful summer memory from a Tree of Life I've ever had!

Sept. 11,2012

Note: The coconut trees are considered the “Trees of Life”. They can provide almost all the things we need like shelter, clothing, foods and others. So, let us preserve coconut trees! They are very helpful but be careful because they are also risky during typhoons, LOL. There are many coconut trees in our backyard especially along the riverside connecting to the beach. These trees had added so much joy on summer time during my childhood years/graders.

Like the oak tree

Like the oak tree

Have you ever thought about?
An Oak so big and strong
With all his blessed majesty
[As nature sings her song]
His branches reach unto the sky
As he strives to touch the sun
Take a look at his great growth
Now he’s a giant one.

And yet he cannot reach the sky
Unless his roots dig far
He’ll never reach too high at all
That’s just the way things are
Take a look at a bonsai tree
Then you’ll see what I mean
Compare it with the mighty oak
And see what might have been.

It’s the same with humans too
If they strive to reach within
They’re growth will reach up very high
And a song it will begin
But if they only touch the surface
[Most humans be like this]
They’ll stay small, like the Bonzai tree
That’s just the way it is.

The Gift of Sound

The Gift of Sound.

In our little house stands an upright piano
Tuned by a blind man blessed by the gift of sound.

My son sat one day playing a masterpiece
Wrote long ago by a man who couldn’t hear.

Listening to the music it took my mind away to
Afar magical places no luggage and no cases.

My mind kept jumping between different scenes
Fields of colored flowers the loveliest it can be.

Shadows of far mountains colors in different hues
A pied piper sat under a tree playing his favorite tune.

Sheep gathered together chased by a cleverly dog
Taught by nature no cane and no flog.

Oh… the gift of sound.

Broken Wind Chimes

Dangling from the tree I can see,
Broken wind chimes that still sing.
They just hang on by a split string.
Sending a harmony of tunes to thee.

Their tones and vibrations are a bit broken for me.
I listen and I ponder for what tunes they can bring.
From the tree they will sway when they can swing.
Bits and pieces are released through the air and flee.

Caught in the wind is it’s vibrations.
Carrying signals of great magnitude.
Funneling clouds into new creations.
Bringing air into a brand new mood.

Broken wind chimes can still sing a song,
But their messages are scattered all along.

It's Christmas

Its Christmas time again and the bustle is on ,
cleaning the house, bring out the new stuff
A touch of paint over there, I’m almost done,
The lights are up, tree fully decorated, My place is decked out !!

In the early Christmas morn, the gifts I lay beneath the tree,
Everything is in place……Ohhhh, what a beautiful sight to see!

Now retired to bed, pleased as could be
He spoke - and it caused me to look at the thing I did not see
I’ve cleaned and prepared my house for the day
In the midst of this, have I done the same with life in any way?

The scripture rang loudly in the blanket of the quite morn-
“A child is born and a Son is given”- am I ready to receive this gift that’s given?

All the lights I’ve hung, He’s the light of the world
The ornaments on the tree, He’s so precious to me
This tree that stands in my hall so tall
Upon a tree he hung, offered vinegar mingled with gall……

My responsibility right now, is share what’s been offered to me
If you did not have lights or decorated a tree, Could not buy a gift, or just didn’t know the story…

Jesus is the gift that’s waiting for you
Yes, you can receive Him, its long overdue
Just open up your heart, he’ll make it brand new
Take a moment to ponder-
Christmas is celebrating what Jesus has done for you !!!

Merry Christmas!!!

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

A Tree Grows in Avignon

A Tree grows in Avignon

Planted by a Soldiers hand,
She slept, while Europe blazed.
Bore silence through winters cull,
Captured in darkness, there to laze
Amongst the ruins of Avignon.

Freed by the spring,
Guarded by the sun.
Born in thunders drench
A seedling of hope for Avignon

Gave witness to unjust death,
Found her strength in summer’s breath.
Drank the blood of murders shame,
Grew fertile, her innocence to bear
Seduced by the bees of Avignon

Gave birth, to temptation
Casting forth her gift,
Amongst the ruin,
While Children played, in her boughs.
A new beginning, the bad forgotten
Healing the scars of Avignon

Taken confession, the old to cleanse,
Listened to love,
Their dreams to mend.
Sheltered the lost, from Natures eye.
Watched children grow,
And the old men die,
For she is the spirit of Avignon

Planted by a soldiers hand,
 When dark clouds gathered
A place of love, redemption tethered
To forget the war
And find his wife
A tree of Life for Avignon

 Time moves on.
 The soul returns,
And still she grows.
Anonymous to a stranger’s eye,
A cathedral of hope, a grannies smile.
A tree of home.
A tree that set us free,
That tree that saved my Avignon.

Hold your chess and say I am blessed

Do not doubt who you
are or who you can be.
With in us all,
their is a light that
shines with effulgence.
In our heart it shines.
In our mind it shines.
A chunk of the sun
embedded in our core.

We have been fueled with
 the lions ambition.
Chasing the prey.
Chasing dreams until the end.
We have been fueled
 for the finest hours.
Recognize those powers.
These powers
 forever remain ours.

We are the reason the sun shines.
We are the reason the flower blooms.
We are the reason the tree never falls.
A message in every creation.

The sun shines to show us
how bright we can be.
The flowers blooms to show
us how beautiful we can be.
The tree never falls to show
us how strong we can be.

All of this we can be.
If we rise our self with the sun.
Leave not your dreams and
aspirations undone.
Understand it to be beneficial
in the long run.

Make life sweeter than a
ton of sally-lunn ,sally-lunn.
Out run the doubt until you have won.
Understand that you are some one,
fit to run upon the sun and clouds.
Reach above and pick heavens flowers.
So high up in the sky, gazing into
the eyes of success.
Hold your chess and say I am blessed.
Your surroundings you impress.

Suppress, suppress and undress
those doubtful thoughts.
Progress not digress, express
that light you possess.
Let success be your address.

This I profess because once
my light was put to the test.
A light I lost in doubt.
It was repossessed because
now I know I am truly blessed.
Do not doubt your self,
within all of us a light
shines with effulgence.

Those blessed wetland trails

Those blessed wetland trails.

The sun is shining lazily
The sky is azure blue
As green leaves dance with the morning breeze
The birds be singing too
They sing a serenade of bliss
And peace is all around
As all along these wetland trails
Blue lupins can be found.

The perfume heavy in the air
It speaks of wild geraniums
The young ferns looking soft and green
And all those tall wild gums
Give out a rather pungent scent
A smell I've learned to love
As parrots screech in blissfull joy
In those trees there high above.

The lake, she glimmers neath the sun
As the ducks give lazy quacks
My feet scrape on the sand and gravel
As I stroll along this track.
Trees all gnarled and and twisted
Form a tunnel just for me
Oh I could write forever
But for now, I'll leave it be.

Life's little things

With silence quite astounding,
In pleasurable surroundings,
enthralled with all my mind can store,
watching the tops of the trees,
once more.
Like a calm ocean undulating,
to the motion of the earth.
Lying on my pine needle floor.
Watching light make it's way once more,
falling down like lasers beams
finding its way through canopy seams.
to enhance the colors inside my dreams,
Part of life's most astounding things

Poison and wine

Calamity strikes under the calm of fog, The man breathes in the misty water. His thoughts dissipate with the touch of dusky light, Her auburn hair flares behind the rose of cherry blossoms. Their fingers caress at their tips, A consciousness already bonded eternally. Branches of cherry blossoms rest upon their cold heads, Notions forbidden and a desire remains suppressed. Their lips turned to poison, It crept and tangled deep into their minds. From this moment forward they were consumed, Forever doomed to think the same. * The tree stands still - its eyes perturbed, The green shrubs, the amber buds, Surroundings bustling and lively, It stands placid, as almost dead. True nature it has not revealed, The mute damned to sit still, Words rush and glimmer in poetic verse, No sound crosses its rough lips. Century withered and silently crossed, The tree stands still yet even now. The aging man, his worn axe glistening in dawn, Slashes down the tree, its roots bare. Now knowledge sleeps in the soil, the soil remains untouched.

A Flower on a Branch

A flower petal

Blossom on a long tree branch

With a bright color

Details | Free verse | |

Take the Lead

God does not always respond the way one expects.

Its branches dressed in luscious green leaves
From the young look of the spring season
The cherry blossom tree had lost its sheen,
The petals of its flowers faded spread around its feet.

Of its pink blossoms, it had been so proud
Spreading their sweet fragrance thereabout
Attracting couples young and old to sprawl
Expressing their love, such joy all about.

Now fewer people came by and when they did
Walked on by without even looking at it
It felt so alive in the presence of love, what a gift!
Had wanted this feeling never to end, but it did.

Said a little prayer to its Maker
Asked Him if he could bring back the flowers
It seemed to make people so happy
But nothing happened, and the tree felt lonely.

One day a young woman came by
She sat at its feet and began to cry
The tree felt in her the same sadness of loss
And wished it could comfort her somehow.

Said a little prayer again to its Maker
Asked Him how he could bring joy to her
A little wind began to blow suddenly
As if the Maker acknowledged its plea.

Its current detached one of its leaves
That fell on her right cheek upon a tear
With her fingers, she caught the leaf
Palm open, she looked at it without a speech.

A smile spread on her pink lips
For she saw in it a special gift
She wiped her face with the leaf
And turned her face up to the tree.

With a sparkle in her eyes, she said sweetly,
“Thank you. You lost all your flowers recently
Yet you gave me a gift of hope with this leaf
I know now I can take the lead.”

OF a Tree, Thee, and an Angel's Fee

Force feed me the taste of your skin

‘You will have to break my chastity belt wide open now
for I have sold myself into silent slavery to this ….our universal broken heart

even you will have to try hard……to save me now

I cannot recall your sounds…your hand motions
as they devoured the subtle softness of me
drew round my curvaceous places in curling ownership
intimacies’ sweetest embrace

But too…you move to me
with a ferocity that mowed the grass down to a short golf course length
from the living room table where you drew it happening… a hundred years ago

The length of your hair too has been a subject of much debate
Love
that surging heavenly song...that told our story so well

like that movie from long ago about the girl who cut off and sold her hair to buy her love a golden watch fob and chain …the one who sold his golden watch to buy her a beautiful clip pin for her gorgeous long hair
………………………………..you see how this goes …with true love

We cut off our noses and then turn backs on our faces
and on each other on Facebook

Itself the enemy…where only devils and the luckiest of angels spread

Tread on me beloved!
till I am awakened
to our lips
which just now in writing I suddenly can feel meeting again

taste
smell
the salted brine of your pure water and sometimes beer soaked self

Is it me you feared
as you said Good bye?

How little you know me

like the formation of the first ever green tree grows up one limb at a time
from a base long song of deep roots and strong center...so beautiful the Hosts stagger before its creation ….Halleluiah
The limbs sprouting forth like the wings bursting out of the flesh of the first angel
who died in agony as they were formed….exploding from his shoulders
moving her hair aside as the arch of wing thrust like white tree limb from the goodness within
and the reincarnation of true kindness was born to the conscious of itself

so my love knows no limit
my soul no separation
and my being no longing

Hope

Today I saw a tree trunk,
Growing through a fence.
Metal bars pierced, as it grew,
It almost didn’t make sense.

Sap oozed out its flesh,
Where the spike had bored.
Victim of its own success,
As if it had fell upon its sword.

I wondered if the tree was wise,
That growing meant having to agonize.
The tree didn’t seem to mind though,
As it stretched toward the rainbow..

My Family Tree

My family tree grew Mount Calvary

As my heavenly Father looked on, they crucified his only son

They pierced his side and his precious blood began to flow

In the shadow of the cross my family tree began to grow

He adopted me as one of his own and made me heir to a kingdom

that someday I will call home

Even now I am beginning to see the Father in me

His royal blood now flows through my veins,

For I’m a blood bought child of the king

Now each time I trace my family tree it always leads me

 back to Mount Calvary.

Galah tree

Galah Tree

I heard the squawking screeching, shrieking
Oh, the sound was deafening
Looked up in that Banksia tree
So much joy to me did bring
Those pink and grey birds
Scattered there
Amidst the branches everywhere.

It’s morning time they’ve come for feeding
Ain’t no seed upon their, trays
As they perch among the green leaves
They shriek and scream and screech away.
I see me there the sight of beauty
All those pinks amidst the leaves
It was the way the sun was shining
Oh, such a picture it did weave.

I fill the seed trays up with tucker
I love me so these little guys
They come into my garden daily
I watch them feed it makes me wise.
Watching me, the song of nature
Taking photos writing poems
This be what my life’s about now
Oh, how such beauty keeps me glowing..

Just Blowing in the Wind

Just Blowing In The Wind

I am the last Oak leaf left near the top of this mighty Oak tree
wondering what is to become of me
thousands of Oak leafs were here just a few days ago
now they are all gone
the night air begins to chill as the days get shorter
the beautiful emerald green color I once was
is now a scarlet red-- is this the color of death
Oak leafs by the thousands lay upon the cold hard ground
who once were friends of mine
and the mighty Oak tree is now bare except for me
the cold and chilly wind blows gently through the empty lonely branches
causing me to flutter and shutter
but I hold on even tighter for dear life clinging to my branch
as the wind calls out my name
from so high atop this mighty Oak tree
I wonder is this what it’s all about
is this the end of my brief life just one season
laying down there with all the other scarlet red Oak leafs looking up at me
I wonder what my life’s accomplishments were I scream and shout
but no one can hear my cries of pain was it all in vain
did I accomplish anything of worth while I was here
did I do what I was born to do
before my life is through
now I’m just blowing in the wind my friend
just blowing in the wind

Palm Tree Delight

P A L M T R E E D E L I G H T
Written by Catherine Reinke

In your arms, I lay behold ,
gentle winds and sea salt kiss.
Shade full arms from hot sun bold
coco milk sweet, lovers dish.

My naked skin, sun loves to play
lying under this palm tree day.

Listen to your arms wind sound.
No gentler tender song I’ve found.

Tension, grief, sorrow and more,
all left behind seaside’s door.

For here life’s origins, beget and made
ancient past lives, memories to fade.

But here in Tulum, my friendship sea
I find myself, in gentle palm tree.

And so from youth my memory serves
a poem that retold again deserves.

“that only God can make a tree and
…poems are written by fools like me”

Truly then and true today
That Godly art create tree play.

For made he did a vast array
charming comfort of trees I say.
Strong steadfast oaks.
Wispy willows.
Lilac purples for ones pillow.
Cedar pillars ancient.
Rain forest lush,
only the palm tree
makes me bush.

Round coco breasts filled with milk.
Erect pillar penetrating fronds of silk.

So, in your arms I want to be
naked, contentment, happy and free.
And so end my tree poetic attempt
of my love affair palm tree spent.

Winter Winds

Winter winds blow all around.
I’m astonished by the sounds of Jingle Bells and reindeer stomps.
All of this should never stop.
Snow lies on the ground, if only that weren't too profound.
Time only leads to decay, but not on Christmas, not today.
You should see the angels pray.
Toy trains, and rag dolls are the things kids used to want.
But time has changed, yes so have children…
Santa seems as if a villain.
So much fighting, so much crying, it sounds as if the kids are dying.
“I want money, I want fame, and these toys are just so lame.”
But that’s the product we provided.
Second chances are no more, Santa’s plot we wait for.
He’s sick of this, he doesn't care, it’s as if he’s not wanted here.
He gets ready to take it all back….
WAIT!
There’s still one toy left in his sack, it’s for a little girl, half a world away.
Now how could he have missed this, on the perfect Christmas day?
He turns around, not time for war.
This toy, the girl is waiting for… It’s not a toy like you’d expect.
She didn't ask for electronics, or stupid games such as Sonic.
She just wanted one small thing…
She’s waiting for something EXTRA special this gloomy day.
In a bed she sits and stares, at the window near a chair.
She’s so weak, and all alone.
She doesn't even have a real home, not where there are bright lights anyways.
They've decorated a weeping willow, the only tree around the “home”.
So she has lights to see.
It’s Christmas after all, but there’s no way to calm the raging sea.
She’s dying, it won’t take much longer, and she doesn't care about the tree.
She needs a new heart extra bad.
So, Santa’s bringing her the one thing, that will stop her parents from being sad.
He rushes to the hospital in his golden sleigh, and climbs right down the vent,
He’s saving Christmas today.
Santa rushes in just in time, finds a doctor, the girl is dying.
It’s not what he usually does, but he stays and watches as they save her life.
He waits for her to wake up.
“Santa, you saved my life, oh thank you so much! I needed my heart to be touched.”
He just smiles, and kisses her hand. He’s so glad he didn't destroy the land.
Christmas is still a special day.
There’s no more sorrow, no, not today. Santa smiles though some are still ungrateful.
There’s that one child, standing in the snow, her life can now be started in the evening glow. That’s life for the grateful, loving, caring, and the thankful. Most of the time Santa just gives toys. For all the good girls and boys. But not today, and not tomorrow, once a year he gets rid of sorrow. So sleep tight and say your prayers, Christmas time is but once a year.

The super artist

The super artist

With each, sweet, precious moment
There’s a different kind of show
As I sit and watch these Tingle trees
How they glisten, how they glow!
Soft branches dance on cooling breeze
Beyond the river shore
Reflecting colours on the rivers sheen
As it sparkles more and more.

Am I standing here in Heaven?
What be this wondrous bliss?
That comes from all this beauty?
I’m mesmerized by this
As the sun shines on those Tingle trees
And I watch this picture show
A feeling soft and beautiful
Within my heart does glow.

There has to be some power
In the heavens up above
Who keeps this sun a shining
He’s an artist filled with love
He has those special powers
To fill each soul with bliss
As his colours fill the Universe
When he the World does kiss.

One Tree Hill

He Created the Tree
He molded and built
A small lonely hill,
That He knew would be
Called Calvary.

Then He made the seed,
That would grow to be thorns
That would make
His Son bleed.

Tell me
How can you be so numb
When you've been so well fed
Bless me, bless me is
All we ever hear

One Tree Hill
When will the seed
Grow into a tree in you

Therapy Session

Some folks would tell you that a Demon
Lived in all of us

A rapist is a thief
Some public defender isn’t smarter than his client
One is not required to serve as a juror: on every case
With that in mind:
To create a mental trend is easier.

A train to the plane;
It’s really surprising to find
A hockey player who is tame
A police officer with all his fear and anger
A cook without a kitchen: Is like tango without jingo
A philosophy without any gaps

The new breakfast drink debut
Ice coffee in the morning
Mocha latte` all day
Please don’t interfere with what work
To help us during the day

I am a woman that follows the warmth
A tree that wouldn’t blossom
 it's worthless creation?
You can eat tree bark
While the lark
Build its lowly nest
On the ground

A philosophy without any gaps

Higher Meaning

The forest, laid out in lavender pink Harbors light within its tender confines Sea foam runs in, as water is nearby No tree has a look that is quite alike Some trees are tall, others are short and stout The water tries to make its statement here Crystal clear teal, it foams at its edges The lake holds creativity within Nothing about it looks like the forest The light from the waning sun captivates I understand the sight, mixture of life No animal could understand this sight No meaning is greater than the sun’s rays It brought me the mauve colors before me The water, that lovely water, is blue Colorful only by the sun’s bright light May I always enjoy my forest here And the water, the crystal clear water I will forever be inspired from this To write lovely words of great tenderness Saving my heart, leaving me with true joy I will always feel the pure wonderment

Tree of Life

I see a tree outside my patio door; it’s tall and gifted with so much life.
It’s bark flows in connecting patterns, they come together then flow apart.
It echoes the patterns of relationships that so often come and then they go.
Its precious leaves are born each year, and will fall with the winter cold.

Each cycle leaves a foundation needed for the next year’s growth.
And a ring in this foundation, speaks volumes of the history before.
The branches lead us off to paths; we never thought we would go.
The leaves lend comfort in our lives, and mute the harshness thrown.

It knows how to bend and move and flow with what life will to it send.
Yet, generosity is the gift it gives to those that, upon it constantly depend.
It will shelter, feed, and protect all creatures; both great and small till its end.
Then it will return to the soil, to replenish and nourish the next to grow, again.

Still, why does the tree stretch out its arms as it grows toward the light?
It’s reaching toward its maker, to acknowledge the one who gives it life.
Trees are the living proof given to us, about what we should already know.
Yes, God gave us all these trees to remind us, of how each life should grow.

Trees know his light gifts all we need, to live contently within his arms.
They replenish the air for our every breath and even give us our homes.
The tree should be our Coat of Arms for all it’s given to us, and more…
This gift God has given to us: is symbolized as the beautiful Tree of Life.

THE LONESOME FLUTE PLAYER

Sitting by a moss-covered tree illuminated by sunlight at three,
he plays the very song that his anscestors played yesterday;
remembering what the peaceful and wild land was and will be...
by accepting the fact that his tomorrow is decided by destiny.

He can spend an entire afternoon playing a hand-made flute color chestnut,
as every breeze-lulled maple tree seem to vanish in the increasing, grey fog;
and if his music with shrilling, melodic notes is a devise to find his stranded dog,
he will have the best friend to guide him safely home through beams of twilight.

Play, handsome warrior the melody you forefathers played on those efflorescent days
underneath the same oak tree to celebrate their free manhood;
and resembling them with long hair and piercing, dreaming eyes,
you don't expect that intruders from other lands would compromise your happiness.

Foxes, grizzly bears, coyotes and buffaloes hear your music and come around to peek:
they know that you wouldn't hurt them and they wonder who's the Great Spirit;
little they suspect that they will be hunted down by the new-comers from the East;
be their friend, warrior...promise them protection when they'll encounter the Beast.

All that you behold today, may be gone tomorrow making you weep,
grasslands and prairies will tun into towns and cities to make way for greed;
and blood will flow abundantly on meadows where only wildflowers grew...
devastation everywhere with mother's screams by red rivers not so blue.

You must have had dreams of what was coming with a spectacle so gruesome,
take heart...your tomorrow is decided by destiny, pray that you won't be harmed;
continue playing your flute by remembering everything that you deeply loved,
and if you'll die fighting heartless men, I'll remember that look so lonesome.

Decking the Halls

DECKING THE HALLS

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care
Christmas ornaments lay strewn everywhere

The tree is up, the lights are on
Now to hang the ornaments that are so strewn

Garland and tinsel all in its place
The angel atop the tree in its position of grace

There's the Christmas Village replete with train
A mountain and a lighthouse are its latest gain

And now for the most important thing
The arrival of the King of Kings

The Christ-child born in a stable lowly
Now come, Lord Jesus, make all this Holy

The Nourishing River

Focusing on that river that supplies nourishment
Clear as a crystal, flowing from the throne of God

In the mist of it is The Tree of Life that bears
Twelve manner of fruit, yielding every month

The leaves of that Tree are for the healing
That river, beautiful, crystal clear is the source

Carter Claus

*recite to Night Before Christmas

Who was this white haired Claus
with buck-rabbit teeth?
Carrying a ton of peanuts
for everyone to eat.

Dragged in a sleigh
pulled by Agnew and Nixon,
who ran right beside
old Donnar and Blitzen?

He circled Camp David,
A fast fly by;
with lox and bagels
for Jewish guys.

A carpenters’ pencil
was poised by his ear,
and boxes of nails dangled,
from the gear in the rear.

Why! It's Jolly Ole Carter Claus
draped in menorahs.
Handing out home plans to
the Arab before us.

Visions of world peace
danced in his head;
as, he flew to Afghanistan
‘Fore noggin hit bed.

When down from the sky
in the form of deer dung,
fell fruit tree seeds
to be sown in the sun.

And, as Carter Claus’ whip
cracked O’er Nixon's ear,
as Agnew blanched,
his eyes filling with tears.

Droplets hit sand with
a plop and a splatter
’pon the fruit tree seeds with
nary a clatter.

The desert grew green.
Trees sprouted and grew.
Hearts filled with wonder
bellies with stew.

Homes were rebuilt,
as before the fall.
Cook fires were lit.
Children grew tall.

And Ole Carter Claus
flew home in a daze,
passing out sandwiches
that Roslyn had made.

are you

CLOCK

In the vast beauty and diversity
of the reaches of the cosmos
           impresses upon us all
the shear minute dust we are
                 in any comparison
The simplicity of laws
            that govern it's most basic
     and complex movements
Birth , Life , Death
some would distain this as "circular"
as the patterns in creation are
for all things existing within its confines
the birth , life , death of stars , galaxies
entropy and the recirculation of those elements
into new structures encased
in the womb for new material
apply equally to the diversity of structures
cycling on the little blue marble
seed sprout bush tree seed
seed sprout plant flower seed
seed baby child adult seed
same down onthe cellular level
same down tothe atomic level
                 and its clock
in a state of perfectly circular self propagation
For those who foolishly accuse us of being

                   CIRCULAR

Let me explain a simple something
how we measure time in the cosmos

is based on a circular orbital movement of planets
                      and stars
and as for thinking
are questions seeking answers which just
                     lead to more questions

and that's the beauty of it

       simplicity defines even the most
        complex systems that function

right down to the circuit boards for computers
        and technology

Mama seals it with Kiss
        Keep it simple stupid

anyone who doesn't know
a clock embedded in the universe
has not recognized his own

Fall

Fall
Falling, loosing solid footing of the solid ground,
I look out of the window and see a tree.
It’s a marvelous sight to see, a rarity longing to be found.
It had a strong trunk with beautiful green leaves.

The days came and went as I would look upon it every day for inspiration.
One day I saw the leave changed to many different colors, from amber oranges to yellows and reds.
Yet it stood there with full aspirations.
I saw as the seasons took away its beauty, leaving it looking half dead.

I would pass by the window and see the tree in the mists of blizzards of snow,
The tree’s beauty was taken away and now it’s tortured by ice cold winds.
And yet it stands firm against the fury of winter that is bestowed.
It stands there unwavering, waiting for the end.

The months go by as the torture does its worst.
Until one morning, a leaf sprung out.
The days passed and more leaves appeared like a magical burst.
Tree kept its faith through the worst without any doubt.

I came to realize there is much to learn from the beautiful tree.
Just because we fall, doesn’t mean we have lost.
Like the tree when we are stripped of our beautiful achievements and successes me mustn’t flee.
Stand firm and fight through at all cost.

For the warmth of success will soon come and mend your heart that is broken.
Collect yourself and begin to spring forward and onward,
Because a fall doesn’t mean that it is the end,
But a beginning waiting to spring out.

Still Connected

From planted seeds, trees have grown.
My hope, regards this scene, is to remind you of home.

Rooted and grounded have the trees come to be.
From different forests, though, are both you and me.

Yet, like one tree that grows and bares many branches:
Rather northward, to the south, eastward, or to the west;

And no matter where fruits from a tree are selected.
I want you to know we're still connected.

Those Blue Hills Sing

Those Blue Hills Sing

Those blue hills seem to gaze back at me
covered in bright forests filled with glee
Early morn the fog wraps their beauty so
still their majesty sings don't you know

Winter snow they look like ice cream cones
singing their music in sweet rhyming tones
Come December we look for a perfect tree
on our season's jolly , merry holiday spree

Without fail hills so blue give a very fine gift
From amidst their beauty and deep snow drift.

the tree

He was a tiny little tree
With branches so slender and thin
With leaves so soft and tender
The roots so light but tucked into the ground so tight
He was a tiny little tree
Free spirited, innocent, fragile

Until the forces of nature came
Screaming at him, shouting and beating him to death
But the tree held tight, and fought for its life
He braved the storm to survive
The tree survive but almost without a heart
The tree grew, with branches hard, firm and without a care

Not the warmth of sunny summer days touching his face
Nor the beautiful flowers of spring caressing his chest
Not the calmness of the autumn whispering in his ears
Nor the softness of snow falling into his palm,
None of these, Could soften the heart of the wounded tree
Nothing could break the spell of pain that engulf his spirit

Until a force so strong yet so gentle came to embrace the tree
A force so loud yet so calm, so firm yet so patient
The force’s hands nurtured him, though the tree ran far and fast
Hid from valley, to mountains, to the top of the hills
The force patiently followed the tree
The force never left the tree

Then one day the tree woke up as if from a very long and tiring sleep
It realizes the force was a no ordinary force
It was the softest and yet the strongest among all the forces in the universe
Its power is phenomenal, inevitable, and unexplainable
Ahh, yes it is the force he longed waited for
It is LOVE, the greatest force of all

The tree is no longer a tree now
The enthralling spell was broken
The tree turned into a MAN, a no ordinary man
He is a man, one with the force, one with love

Seeds

                         Seeds
A few little seeds in this old fashion mason jar,
A miracle that has traveled so long and far.
With these tiny seeds I will plant into this soft rich ground,
The most beautiful tree from the seeds I just found.
Five years past as I come upon, where I planted the seeds,
With pink flowers so amazing, that this world needs.
A pink tree that came from the wonderful seeds that I planted with my own two hands,
A dogwood tree,a miracle,that was God's glorious plan.
A wonderful symbol of Jesus, that was crucified on the cross,
For all our sins, that was the cost.
These simple little seeds, that grows to be a gift from heaven, that you can see,
Just how seeds tell that Jesus is the king ,from this amazing tree.

How Poe-tree Grows To Full Bloom

The seeds to the story being, the plot, helps the tree grow in poetry.

Idea's sprout up from this poet's seed, his imagination, and imagery with words
are his or hers own water, which makes this metephorical tree bloom fully into
final fruitation.

A dictionary or Spellchecker program may be considered that tree's fertilization,
later put into the groundwork of it's compilational completion.

A final editing might be considered the sun like rays, which in turn, fulfills it's final
honed growth.

Family Tree

Our family tree will never stop growing…our faith and comfort will never crumble
Love grows here…so have no fear—God is near
My family, though packed up with pride and low self-esteem, still appears humble
Mirth produces joy and our hope gives birth to cheer

God is our Father; who could play this role as skillfully? Who, other than God, created the world so genuinely?
Love comes from He…so scare away the anxiety—God will grant us ecstasy
My family, though packed up with hope and despair, cherishes my soul with glee
Rebirth and life comes from He and our faith should draw near to thee

"i love you sweet boy..we will have fun this summer and be a close and godly family..nighty nit my light"
This summer, I am positive that we will be a close and godly family
But we must be lights of the world…and we must be willing to finish that race of hardships to earn His dignity
By all means, we will have an enjoyable break without paying a fee
But we must be God’s faithful followers…and we must be prepared to follow our Shepherd who is the key

Of never-ending faith and comfort, nourishing us abundantly
He still exists…He unravels the insanity
Of this world and set us free from blasphemy
Watching over us with pure vitality

Give us Your water
Don’t leave us in the gutter
Listen to the words we mutter

I pray that our family tree will look up to you devotedly

Christmas 365

I'm still enjoying the gift. Praise God! Christmas is not over for me. I'm still shouting
in victory not for the gifts under the tree but due to the fact that God so loved me that gave His only begotten Son to me. Do you want to enjoy and celebrate Christmas 365 for the rest of your life? Read John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." God gave you a gift. God gave one to me. Did you open it, or is it still sitting there unwrapped waiting for you? I can only advise you to open it by saying this:” O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him.” God loves His children tremendously so He gave us the gift of life
and life more abundantly by giving us His son with a mission to save us all by dying
on the cross at Calvary. He was conceived immaculately and was born to heal the
hearts that are torn. He lived on the planet earth and performed His first miracle at
a wedding. And he performed many more in his life and still is right now. He knew
His purpose He died and rose on the third day with all power of the earth and
heaven in His hands so that you, me, your family can finally walk in destiny and live
eternally. Yes forever be alive. I love my gift. It took me awhile to unwrap it, but as
soon as I did my life is not the same. I’m still enjoying the gift. Christmas is not over
for me. I’m still shouting in victory for the gifts under the tree but due to the fact
that God so loved me that gave His only begotten Son to me. Yes He came with a
mission for all of us to be forever alive. That is why I celebrate Christmas 365.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever
believeth in Him shall not perish nut have everlasting life." John 3:16
” O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Psalms 34:8
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life
and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

I Thirst

He never asked for anything
When they nailed Him to the tree
His only crime was stepping through time
To set the whole world free

He made the moon and all the stars
Then hung them in the sky
The one true Light that shined so bright
Would close His eyes and die

He made the flowers and all the trees
But one became the cross
The dogwood tree would forever be
The tree that brought our loss

He made the rivers and all the seas
But the thing I hate the worst
Before He died the Savior cried
These words, He said, "I Thirst"

Blessings come in many ways

One day…
As I was getting ready to decorate for Christmas
I then remembered the so called tree I had last year
It was worse then a Charlie brown’s tree
Just a branch.. so many made fun of me
I thought hmm.. I have no money
What is the point.. of having a tree any ways
I mean really
Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season
Its not about a tree.. or something someone gives to thee
But it is about Jesus.. so why must I have a tree..
Truly there is no point.. is there???
I memo.. Then I prayed to God
I said My Lord.. please tell me..
What is the point of a Christmas tree
I mean I don’t really need one.. do I..
Then came a reply…
The Tree Represent the TREE OF LIFE
The Star Represents THE BIRTH OF CHRIST
The Lights represent ALL THE SOULS WHOM FOLLOW CHRIST
The bulbs represent.. THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT
The Garland represents THE STRENGHT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
that is wrapped around you and me.. in the Tree of life
the Tensile represents THE STREAMS OF LOVE SENT FROM ABOVE
the Presents represent.. THE GIVING OF LOVE TO ALL TO BEHOLD

I then said… My Lord if this be true..
Please forgive me…
Then allow me to have the Biggest Beautifullist Tree Ever

Then the next day…
God made a way..
I was given.. A 7 in ½ foot Colorado Spruce Tree
With a Beautiful Star.. that has an Angel that was lit inside of it
As I looked I was amazed…
Then I said Oh Lord.. Thank you.. it is Big and Beautiful..
But I have no money to buy lights ornaments’ decorations of such
But that’s alright for it is Beautiful just the way it is
Then the next day..
God made away..
I was given all the fixings for decorating the tree
There was many.. helped partake to decorate..
As I see… it is Beautiful as Ever

Thank you Jesus
For have given me…
Such a Big Beautiful Christmas Tree..
For every time I look upon this Tree
That you my Lord has Blessed me
I remember what you said
And I see Just How Much Love
And Beauty you have for me..
and for many… from thee

Come to Jesus
God's Love is FAR Beyond..
Beyond anything
even this Beautiful Blessing
of any Christmas Tree

Tree In Waverly Hall, Georgia

Why do your limbs resemble
A Jewish Mennorah Lamp
Is it from so many children playing
On your delicate limb when your were young

Or are you reaching upward
To God's sky in appreciation
For the sun and rain
For which men only complain

I don't know why
I wasn't here when
You were planted
But you are beautiful to me

(There is a town called Waverly Hall and in that town is a tree I think Magnolia but not sure.
It is shaped like a Mennorah Lamp with its limbs touching the ground. I thought of a poem
one day when we were going through this town on our way to Columbus. I could just see
children playing on this tree when it was young and shaping its branches. This is also a
medaphor for something else.)

The lone fighter

A young tree stands amongst weather
Strapped down with only a small piece of wood and leather
It’s been beaten down by wind and rain
It’s been left alone to cry in shame
Left aside in a harshest environment
Its bark is almost torn off
The tree is pitched toward a sloping trough
No one fertilized it before the winter
Soon it may look like a giant splinter
But the young tree still stands up tall
He’s fighting through a mighty snow squall
The salt from the road has left him weak
It looks like things for him, are pretty bleak
The years wined by and the tree still stands
With a sad spirit and a wounded bands
It tells a story of the years of pain
And all the damage it disdained
He stands today with a slight pitch to one side
It’s the love of God that’s kept him alive

Fallen Leaves

Leaves of a tree,
Many colors I see,
But mostly green.
Plenty I have seen!
Reminds me of me,
Fallen from the evergreen!
Some crumpled and brown,
Dried and dead on the ground!
Fallen leaves of a tree falling loosely and falling free!
Reminds me of a spirit down,
Fallen away from its identity!
Leaves of a tree,
Many I can see,
But mostly brown.
Plenty on the ground!
Reminds me of me,
Fallen from the golden crown!
Some still healthy and green,
Shiny and whole from what I have seen.
Fallen leaves of a tree falling loosely and falling free!
Reminds me of a vision foreseen,
Fallen from Grace in society!
Leaves of a tree,
Many I see.
But mostly brown!
Many I have found.
Reminds me of me!
Fallen away from a life of dignity!

Our Greatest Christmas Gift

As I stare at our beautiful lighted Christmas tree,
My mind takes me back to childhood visions and how it used to be.

A popcorn garland and garland made from colored paper connected rings,
Those were the days of simple things.

And bubbling lights that were so pretty and bright,
Brought such grandeur to our tree at night.

The tree it self was freshly cut with two boards nailed to the bottom to make it stand.
The aroma given off was a treat in it self to me that was Christmas I hope you understand.

Our presents were wrapped and carefully placed under the tree.
When no one was looking we’d shake em and shake em just trying to see.

And always on Christmas our church would put on a play,
Of Wise men and shepherds and Baby Jesus lying in the hay.

To turn back the clock would be such a treat,
The Spirit of Christmas was so wonderful and sweet.

But now it’s all glitter and glamour with no fun as before,
And they’ve taken poor Jesus and refuse to celebrate Him anymore.

Jesus is the only reason why anyone should celebrate the day,
Of all the gifts you’ve ever received, Jesus is our greatest in every way.

Embracing Aloneness

A plumeria blossom floats to the earth.
Is it a death? Or is it a birth?
It lands with its face touching the ground.
Never shall it be a hula crown.

The luster of its blossom shines upward like a star
A symbol of my aloneness in a place so far.
A crown or a symbol. In the end, is there a difference?
The hula crown too is destined to the earth in a sense.

Lady Gaia opens her heart to all in a gesture of love.
She receives the return of both blooms as a gift from above.
One plumeria adorned a dancer’s hair;
Its fragrance and beauty appreciated beyond compare.

One bloom left the tree on its own, catching a breeze, hoping to fly.
Yet, it sails to the ground, rather than dance in the sky.
Its brave action is noticeable only to one.
The person who sits alone in the sun.

A blossom’s daring act of leaving the tree all alone
Has mirrored my life and cuts to the bone.
The significance of its exploit brings tears to my face;
And in this very moment, my aloneness I embrace.

Mahalo nui, little earth star, plumeria blossom
The treasure you have given me is truly awesome!
Recognition is but a fleeting diversion;
Touching one soul with love is a lasting conversion

Remembering

She lay on the sofa,
Two arthritis pain pills nearby,
Holding a thin romance book
With a thin plot involving
An empty heroine, an empty hero,
Explicitly but tastefully making love.

I’ve heard, she said, closing the book,
Marking her place with a folded handkerchief,
That books with graphic sex
Can be awfully boring.
What are those tall trees across the street?

Georgia pines, we told her.
She asked: Is the tallest one the father,
And the other two son and daughter?
We laughed. All siblings, we replied.
She looked doubtful. Then she said:
I’m convinced trees talk, I wish I knew what about.
Since I'm eighty now, I suppose
I'll never understand tree language.
I also think each tree has a soul,
The way people do -- don’t you?

What’s the glossy dark green tree on the left?
A magnolia, we said, almost an evergreen.
Remember magnolias from Maryland?
Smaller ones -- we called them sweet bays.

Yes, she said, and smiled. Beautiful small magnolias
With creamy blossoms, up on the hill.

There’s a weeping willow, she went on,
A happy bouncy willow.
Look how gracefully it bends in the breeze!

March had a cruel surprise:
Four inches of icy snow, bitter winds..
The willow perished.
Later a bush appeared in its place,
But we kept on picturing the willow.
Next they replaced the grove of pines
With a tire shop.
A year later, the magnolia was felled,
And the house behind it, too.
Six condos were quickly built,
And marketed for a million dollars each.

Still, we'd see when looking across the street,
Superimposed on the replacements,
The willow, the magnolia, the pines.
Lovely tree ghosts: They had greeted us kindly.

By then our mother wasn't on the sofa or reading.
She was bedridden, and couldn’t focus on books.
Despite her dying heart, we all three
Changed our residence -- an enforced move.

We hope the tree ghosts are still intact and active,
We'll always think of them with affection,
But my sister and I don't plan to visit that block again.

Our mother is not alive any more, either,
But we doubt she’s a ghost, like the trees.
We consider that she is
Bound up forever in the bonds of eternal life.
All the same, at times we’ll be overcome
By a wave of goodness and warmth,
Amazing beauty and strength,
Incredible devotion.
Then, puzzled, we'll discuss what happened,
And the only sane conclusion we can reach
Is that Mama had paid us a fleeting loving visit.

The Tree

This poem was written at a time (many times) when I was questioning my beliefs - my version of what my life should be. I took a long walk in the woods near my home and saw this one tree, these words came to me instantly. Maybe not the best, but it helped me sort through things at that time.

A tall tree stands in the wood
towering over everything it could;
its giant size tells the tale
of many a year surviving a gale

The trees beside it stand in awe
of this one so high, avoiding the saw;
the shade it provides gives protection
for creatures running in every direction

Its mighty girth is humbling indeed
from starting out as one lonely seed;
to grow and grow by Nature's light
and reach the heavens, is pure delight

O' tree, O' tree with your majestic size
tell me the story of how you did rise;
I want to know so that I can take
that same straight path to Heaven's gate.

Public Standerns

Is a tree wrong because it leans?

Or is a tree wrong because it is not green

So you tell me what co lour it’s suppose

Too be?

We have to walk in a way talk in a way

Head up high and back straight

Don’t smile to hard cause your not

Really awake being under the

Spell of what the government has

To make

Oh look his shining but really inside his

Dieing

In a circle of a family everyone has

To be as one you try to step out

And you’re classed as wrong

Say too much and you’re classed

As mad and you need to be locked up

But insert of them giving you an ear

They per fur to give you a glair

See a man with a new whip

Insert of asking where he got it you

Per fur to BANG!

And that it!

That’s it not just for him but

For his mum and the woman that

Is carrying his unborn son

In roots, when kuntaka heard

The sounds of the drum he don’t run to

Freedom

He stays with his family and he had to be strong

But in god he prayed that one day his family will

See a better day

Family is a community!

So let us all have a dream that one day are

Community could be clean

Clean of the guns and the drugs

That’s killing us one by one

So I pray for each and every one is soul

So god could make us all whole

And let are feelings just roll

Because you’re not pulling does’t mean

That you’re not killing us one by one

So when we see each other lets

Us be nice and greet your neighbor with a smile

And let god just shine!

Adam in The Garden

They were there together
In bliss and harmony
Enjoying life to the fullest
And consumed in one another
Perfection was in place
And orderliness was real

No stress, no work
No rain for the Lord watered the earth from under
All kinds of trees grew
A garden was planted
And in the middle stood the tree of life
With the knowledge of good and evil

Adam with his wife eve tended the garden
Walking in the serenity of the day
And the calmness of the evening
Sitting often by the banks of the Rivers that watered the garden
And listening to the Rivers as they flowed

When they were told to eat everything
But the tree of life
The adversary came,
With his lies and deceit he lured them to sin
The heeded to his pleas and suggestions
And fell like a pack of cards

No remedy
No help
No comfort
Chaos returned
And distress rained
Fear and shame ruled supreme

Who shall redeem man?
Who shall restore dignity to man
And take him back to where he belong

The River

Cracks of corral emerged between the Earth’s proud crown of evergreen
Gleaming down on grateful Father whose arms in bloom embraced his Daughter
Moon upon Moon in prayer he spent that God would grant his heart’s content
Now all his dreams no longer dreams but infant in his arms serene
They traveled on til trails converged and River’s roar ahead was heard
Then there upon the shore was laid, a bless’ed barge of birchbark made.

From the River’s roots they rowed, embarking on a fate unknown
Wide-eyed Child soothed by Father’s song amidst echoes of the Wild’s call
Sweetly metered by sweeping oar he told her tales of life before
The great divide of Earth and Sky, of Land and Sea, of Day and Night
How God by grace named each creature each fish and fowl each fir and fur
Then in His hands mixed clay and sand, the gift of life breathed into Man.

Between each bend dear Daughter grew and saw the world from worn canoe
Floating onward until the day she traded hums and howls to say
Father, Father, I understand! With lamb and wolf we share this land!
How scattered seed grew into tree and tree we carved for pole to feed
Father you’ve grown and given me your faith and love so I might be
Someday just like you a Giver on the road of life, the River!

The book of life

Like the Chinese says…
‘ one generation plants a tree,
another gets the shade’.
If watered verily, the tree blossom.
The tree expands in branches,
and bears seeds for another plant.

This is the story of life.

life is living, live it.
Life is a seed, sow it.
Life is purpose, fulfill it.
Life is an issue, attend to it.
Life is matter, fill it.
Life is matter of life and death.
Life is a mind-blowing experience.

Carte Blanche

There were two cardinals separated by a tree branch with fruit.
One was a female and the other was a male.
Her four fruits were ripe and his one was not so he became a brute.
She was to the left and he was to the right and looking pale.

Her purple fruits put off enough to make her some ale.
His green fruit was at his feet and were mute.
She kept her guard up waiting for him to sail.
But he never would follow suite.

She became the fruit of the highest branch on the highest tree.
He just sat there perched and barren not even producing the first seed.
She came to be,
The cardinal in lead!

But he never moved from his tree branch,
He was at her feet forever she’s his carte blanche!

GOD'S TREES

GOD’S TREES Poem: Victoria H. Peurifoy © 10/27/2006 God has a way with his trees, The autumn, spring, winter and summer trees are all beautiful in his form. It is amazing as I ride the highway, how God has just Touched each tree and given us Shades of green, auburn, burgundy, yellow, gold, pea, and moss and even gray. The colors don’t seem to end. Even browns, tans and other hues envelope the earth. God gives us different heights, sizes, shapes and dimension just with the touch of his finger or with just a thought in his mind. Feel the breeze from his breath. We need to appreciate the natural beauties with which God has blessed us. Sometimes his nature seems inconvenient for us, but we often forget his nature was here before we were thought about. More colors have I discovered, as I ride this highway. God has made us with colors too; And they too, we have not learned to appreciate. We are just like God’s trees, colorful, shapely, short to gargantuan, and rooted in our ways. God’s trees are of his spirit and mindset. We destroy God’s tree just like we destroy ourselves. The next time you see God’s tree, smile to yourself about how wonderful God is, and how wonderful are his trees.

THE MOUNTAIN

Stone crops flash by me,
blur of speed

Flick of wing,turn of beak,
the hunt is on
for the prey I seek

Spears of rock
are my home

This magnificent mountain
strewn with scree
capped by frost
ringed by tree

Rising high,it stands alone,
granite buttresses
keep it company

Planes of rock make me twist and turn,
complex flying I must learn
to circumnavigate this world of stone

Timeless unchanging mountain,
my home in cool,crisp air

Wind whispering,
call me invitingly to the search
for I am the Hawk of this mountain

A mountain i know well
for it is living breathing stone,
my place ,my home

Scent of pine fills me
as i scan for prey
Blur of speed on rock
endless scree

My mountain,my home,
this is no solitary life
for I am not alone

Weathered rock,clean air
scent of green
are my companions
not always seen

Spears of stone reach for sky,
turn of wing I fly by
complex flying
rock sighing

This mountain stands alone ,
my hunting ground,my home
strewn with scree,
capped with frost,
ringed by tree

Merry Christmas

The tree is made of mostly plastic and metal,
With blinking lights above its plastic pedestal.
With ornaments of wood, plastic and glass,
   Decorate its branches amass.
A star that twinkles like the one in the sky above,
Placed gently atop my tree with love.
With presents lying neath its outward branches,
And children’s imagination as to what are the chances.
They weigh the boxes and gently shake them too,
Hoping upon hope to just get a clue.
As wrapping paper gets slightly torn, accidental for sure,
The children look so innocent and pure.
A gift is a gift no matter the price,
If given from the heart it has to be nice.
With family and friends we gather around,
This decorated tree where our love will be found.
Before presents are passed out we say a little prayer,
And thank our Lord and Savior for the love that He shares.
Happy Birthday baby Jesus I heard someone say,
You are the reason we celebrate Christmas Day.
May peace and joy and love fill your lives on this Holy day,
And continue to guide you and show you the way!
Merry CHRISTmas to all, it came from a manger filled with hay,
And gave His life’s blood so we all could receive the Kingdom one day.
Merry Christmas….

What!!!!

Who are we to say that “when a tree falls in the forest some day does it make a
sound especially if no one is around?”

Only one thing is for certain that is to be as long as no one got hurt, or it did not
cause damage to any property “who cares”

These things and sayings are what it is to be, and only the lessons learned are
what they are to me

And for One final not any tree that falls in a forest with no one around makes one
simple sound “ THUD “ You learnt that one from me

My Thinking Tree

There is a place i used to go
a place i longed to be
i remember it like yesterday
and hold it dear to me
it is my young thinking tree

when i mustered the courage
to give climbing a try
my Dad boosted me upwards
and i felt like i could fly
it is my early-start thinking tree

when i was still a child i would
explore the top to the best of my ability
pretending to be Indiana Jones
and sparked by curiousity
it is my adventurous thinking tree

but it earned its worthy name
by the long hours i'd spend
just sitting and pondering
as assurance it would lend
it is my motherly thinking tree

in later life stages
of trouble and resent
my tree would embrace me
in loving branches of consent
it is my protective thinking tree

or i would recall life's simple joys
remaining there all day
and also its misfortunes
hoping forever there i could stay
it is my day-dream thinking tree

when time came to leave the house
one fateful summers night
i passed an hour in that tree
then finally bid it good- bye
it is my dear friend thinking tree

often i'd return
home to find it there
and in joyful amazement
i'd gaze at it and stare
it is my memorable thinking tree

my chest would pound
my heart, skip a beat
smiling at its inviting colors
sending tingles to my feet
it is my wild, impulsive thinking tree

but after seasons faded
many a time over again
my tree grew old and ill
its sickness, i could not mend
it is my weathered thinking tree

and upon that dreaded day
when my tree, dead it lied
part of my childhood taken away
when with it, my heart died
it is my sorrowful thinking tree

long years passed
until the end did rise
my time had come
as the light leapt from my eyes

and as i traveled through sky
to heaven i was bound
something caught my attention
i couldn't believe what i had found

my thinking tree alive as ever
my good and faithful friend
hoping for my company
and waiting until then

as i grasped it tenderly
and flung into its arms
salvations light spread over me
home was finally where my heart was

but this was not the end
there is yet more glee to the story
for my tree no longer had room for only one
but now seated many to share in my glory
it is OUR timeless, life-giving thinking tree

FOREST WALK

Soft green leaves murmur to me
Lush grass beneath my bare feet
Sun on my shoulders

Tall trees,mighty boughs
Birds calling softly

Sun,filtering through trees
produce multitude hues of green

Soft dappled light
Cool of shade

Shadows of green
Welcome me
Leaves rustle
Nature's bustle

I feel so alive in this verdant place
Cool grass beneath my feet
Hand on tree
Soft wind in my face

Butterflies dart around me
iridescent blue wings
Time to sit by shady tree
And enjoy these wonderful things

Her Lost Story

A little girl, not yet the age of thirteen
Plays alone amongst the bushes and the trees
Innocent and playful are her heart and mind
Graciously untouched by the harmful, unkind
Leaves begin to fall all about; revolving around her delicate feet
They glide down like paper; the weight of their sorrow forcing them to defeat
A young river, now full of life, flows swiftly nearby
Its sparkling clear beauty, glimmers of new light, shimmering down from the new day’s sky
The river slowly begins to cool
Its gentle touch is soft as the lamb’s freshly woven spool
The fog from the water creates new scene
A scene in her head that appears to be unclean
A chill from the winds creeps up her spine
Spreading in ridges leaving all kinds of lines
The thought of fear never crosses her mind
Not even the moment she is stuck from behind
The darkness of shadows drains into her sight
She is unwilling, unable to move or fight
The cold river once clear, is now filled with fog and color
Color like the leaves left behind by the earth mother
A warm wind blows along the bends
From the east; caring swift voices till they descend
The voices seem calm enough
Showing only glitches of the strong willed, the tough
Soon into the night they grow with greed and envy
Then slowly die out with the sounds of her pleas
A little girl not yet the age of thirteen
Died alone, by a river; she was crushed by a falling tree
Not one heard the tree fall
Nor the screams of her call
Her body never to be found
Left to rot between the tree and the ground
Yet her spirit lives on
Living for the nature far beyond

SHADY TREE

I rest below shady tree
Pink blossoms,
fall on me

The shade ,so sweet
Shelter from this heat
I look upward.........
To the tree
Pink blossoms...........
Fall on me
The place to be.............
The place for me...........

Shady tree.....
Made for me
Leafy shades,
never fades

Pink blossom,
drifting down
Lifts my frown
Pink blossom..........
From the tree
Falls on me

Shady tree
belongs to me
The heart lifted
Pink blossoms.......
gifted

THE MOUNTAIN

Stone crops flash by me,
blur of speed

Flick of wing,turn of beak,
the hunt is on
for the prey I seek

Spears of rock
are my home

This magnificent mountain
strewn with scree
capped by frost
ringed by tree

Rising high,it stands alone,
granite buttresses
keep it company

Planes of rock make me twist and turn,
complex flying I must learn
to circumnavigate this world of stone

Timeless unchanging mountain,
my home in cool,crisp air

Wind whispering,
call me invitingly to the search
for I am the Hawk of this mountain

A mountain I know well
for it is living breathing stone,
my place ,my home

Scent of pine fills me
as I scan for prey
Blur of speed on rock
endless scree

My mountain,my home,
this is no solitary life
for I am not alone

Weathered rock,clean air
scent of green
are my companions
not always seen

Spears of stone reach for sky,
turn of wing I fly by
complex flying
rock sighing

This mountain stands alone ,
my hunting ground,my home
strewn with scree,
capped with frost,
ringed by tree

Tree

That tree was not tree,
it was a giant,
for it spread so far and wide,
from point to point,
it shaded more,
than it allowed sunlight through,
all of them came from far and wide,
to get its view,
the tree was symbol of stability and patience,
its message was if you stand tall,
wearing summers,winters rains and all,
you do survive,
and grow up to be this size,
it sheltered so many down under,
as if telling all,
that a might has to save the weak,
from worldly thunders,
it also spoke in unison,
along with its shoots,
now almost trees,
that united we stand,
and alone we hit the grand stand.
