Poet -This Poem is About You

-Dear, Mr & Mrs Poet-

Do you ever question where it comes from?
This poem's about you, sit down and get a load off
Tranquilize your pen, take heed to the ecstatic applause

The things in life we take for granting, in time get worse
From WHICH' our lives transverse, ascends a deep poetic curse
You write almost everything, rehearsing every living verse
Embezzling words, like Martha Stewart, ---NOT YOURS!
Withdrawing from your substance,
--yielding it to others, who aren't devoted lovers
Spacing your lines, ready for reader's digest,
Educating the mind, like Albert Einstein

You paint a different horizon for the color blind,
Drop a note, forecasting the news, that brings, Spring to mind
Your adrenaline, leaves people with a feel good faint.
At this level, Poet you're better than high speed Internet,
Anything that makes you feel this is the real deal,
Today, you write like there's no tomorrow, borrowing yesterday's clay
Inspiring ink, left to right, feeding the need to breed a poetic degree
Your dramatic dialogue, deserve 'The Peoples Choice award."

I love the sweet audio, when you lowercase every word
It's done so well, hell, let's never capitalize another word
Reaching a point across, when capitalizing every letter,
This is your world, take it, manipulate it, with the perfect stanza
Produce it like a poetic film, imagery, action, CUT it like Jerry Bruckheimer
One day Hollywood will incite a roll, looking for the best poetry soup rhymer

Your tears and affection, you pour on partial paper,
Showing every word you want to enunciate
A SHOULDER-- gone cold, drowning, forgetting the normal way
Writing about the pure religion that meets your light,
A beautiful flower under the moonlight
Hear the bells, Poe wrote about, adding sprinkles to the twinkle in your eyes,
A redolent scent not meant to be forgotten, from Eden's garden
Taking nature, by course, granting her a crown, before slamming us down
I will call her out --The evil and the fury of a goddess, a beast
This is my feast, I welcome you to my jungle, and the outer bounds of time.

If you ever question where it comes from?
Sit down and get a load off, listen---Where's the ecstatic applause?
I'm not afraid to say, -----I'm Proud to be A Poet Without A Cause

by;PD
I do it for fun

You Reap What You Sow

If you sow seeds of kindness,
Then kindness is what you'll reap.
If you sow seeds of forgiveness,
You'll reap untroubled sleep.

If you sow seeds of anger,
of hatred or discontent,
You'll reap a crop of violence,
Discord and evil intent.

If you sow seeds of brotherly love,
Then love you will receive,
But if wickedness is what you sow,
Then wicked you will be.

The lesson here is pretty clear:
You reap just what you sow.
Therefore, strive to sow only good seeds,
And spread them wherever you go.

A poem for YOU

In this world of Uncertainties I’m the man that you can trust And in my words of sincerity That my love would never last. And if you could only feel, what i feel for you You can ask me “why?” so you can see the truth Like our love that tightens the rope, Like a light that would give us hope. As you watch the dark skies Let me grab the moon for you, And as I catch the bright stars That’s the way you can see me through As this planet turns as it always will And things go wrong and you don’t know what to feel Hold my hand for it will make us strong Like a wind, we will carry on The wind blow that sings a hymn for you For they know what does love means for the two Love is blind, and not deaf So how’s success if you’re not ready to bet? In this poem with full of rhymes, A full of love, Babe can you be mine? I don’t expect too much from you Why should I? If you complete my whole. “Till death do us part” that’s what they have said But why do struggles crash them ahead? Don’t ask me when my love will last, To count all of our quarrels, is that a must? Now and Forever is all that I promise No day dreaming and without reminiscence As the matter of time, as the time passes by Together we stand, together you and I
A poem for my Girlfriend for our anniversary :) pls comment and rate... you are free to judge and criticize my work :) God Bless

Dementia

He was always so happy
strong and bold.
He'd give you the shirt off of his back.
Tough.
Independent.
He had a rough life
growing up through the depression,
but like he always does,
he got through it.
He has two boys, of whom he is so proud.
Moved from Regina, to Victoria.
He had the best life anyone his age could have wanted.
But ever since his wife died,
he has not been the same.
Sad
Lonely
Empty.
But like he has always done,
he got through it.
Mind slipping,
just a little forgetful.
That's how it always starts out...
But like always, he powered through it,
until now...
He is not the same person that I used to know.
He been sentenced to the prison in his own mind.
Possessed by the thoughts of his dogs ashes.
He likes to play the blame game,
but we know he doesn't remember that it was him.
He wakes up in the night
shaking with pain,
tears streaming down his face.
There is nothing we can do,
Oh well...
Two more tylenol.
Hold on to hope
for as long as you can,
It's only a matter of time now.
He gets vocal, a very loud tone.
He'll block you in your room
and make false accusations
But we know that it's the pain induced monster in him.
Tick tock, tick tock...
You can't handle the stress anymore
you have to leave.
Just hope for the best,
maybe it will get better.
Surprise, it doesn't.
Your denial is foolish, everyone knows
what happens next.
Sedation
Medication
Anger
Hurt
All results of
dementia

THE LAST DAYS

The days seem to go by so fast. there is a void in the air, the birds have lost their vibrant beat, the ocean has lost its luster, the soil feels solid and dry.

My soul feels as if it has left my body before my death, my dreams haunt my day, the tears stain my steps, my doctor says that it is depression, I say that it is reality, I am intoxicated by society,I am numb by perscriptions.

Why do I feel so isolated within myself? is there no one in my painfully tight shoes? can anyone understand my pain? can anyone melt in my sorrows? why am I this way? why is the world so cruel? why can't I be normal?

Wait! I am normal, what am I saying, I know now, the veil has been lifted, humanity is my enemy, the sins that drip from their sweat, the dread that follows their shadows, their souls of black, their intentions of greed pull a shade across their eyes.

They are destined for doom, they will not be saved, they will not find salvation, they belittle me, they curse me, they shame me, but they are right about one thing, I am different, unlike them, I will be saved in the last days.

Silver Strands

Slate gray streets made even darker by cutting raindrops
Umbrellas popping up everywhere, people seeking shelter

But I stayed put, wanting to get drained with the rain,
then I hear this tinkling voice that says, “Don’t you just love it when it rains?!”

I look at her wearily and her eyes actually gleam with laughter
Oh geez, this lady was my total opposite. I was brooding, she was brimming.
I power-up my go away vibes, but she was like a darned magnet…
Was I the ferromagnetic one, or was she?

She gushed on the metaphor of rain in her life, and I didn’t feel like drowning.
Listening to her amidst the onslaught was so refreshing, making me thirstier…

There we were, two drenched souls, sitting on the pavement, chatting up a storm.
Of all her descriptions of rain, one in particular stood out for me…

Pearl drops strung on silver strands …

She said, “Rain for me would be silver strands streaking an otherwise somber sky…
pearl drops strung on silver strands, broken by the heavens to share with us.
See how precious it is?” Then she continued on with the metaphor for pearls…

Her words felt like windshield wipers to me, and I could see clearly now
By then, the rains had softened, and a lone pearl drop landed on her eyelashes
-that made me look closer at her eyes… her beautiful, wise, yet cloudy eyes…

I have never looked at rain the same way since then.

Money

Money money, ringing in your tills,
Calling us to worship,
The hundred dollar bills.
Bend our knees in wonder,
Bow our heads in awe,
At the power of the liar,
Who now controls us all.
From the darkest deep caverns,
To the stars in the sky,
From the infinite universe,
To the strangers passing by.

From your inner most conviction,
To your laughing in the night,
From everything you 're seeing,
To everything out of sight.

The new God has risen,
To claim the holy throne,
The one that we have emptied,
Our hearts all cold as stone.

The throne that we have emptied,
We killed the rightful king,
Sold his crown an sceptre,
Pawned his sacred ring.

Raised his bleeding body,
Up on that bloody hill,
The silent lamb still bleeding,
As the money fills your tills.

Reality's Angel

I am Reality’s angel resting on the broad shoulders of discovery the truth feeds darkness and engulfs its target ideas and concepts in turn become meaningless to you there is a creator of all things He is just and patient many still have fallen into the masses of shadow wrapped in their own filthy idols of philosophy I have seen grown men fall like rose petals and weaklings rise into unjust leaders forever the follower of furtive evil dominating only to remain inferior the most important answers lie in the unseen regions where no sense can fully give assurance the mind that so many unreasonably twist and turn grows weary because of the distance it must take and truth be told the distance is not what frustrates it is knowing we are seeking something far that could very possibly not exist, that our minds can twist into theoretical, idealistic nonsense it is knowing all we really think we know is meaningless and yes—even a lie all that has been written thus far rests under my wings under the warmth in which you refuse to feel can you believe in me— though I am completely unseen? how much more difficult would it be to see Him?

LOVE: "The God Precept is Prior Cause"

An I am of Love is precept approved,
Doesn’t need approval of concepts' inept,
Doesn’t need the nod of man/woman, only God,
By precept of love’s absolve soul’s love is kept!

Seeing Love’s being is uncompromising,
Not of double mind concepts non-comprising,
Within one’s own precept love is the comprising,
Will be no rising in the mind’s compromising!

As yeast from the east, bread of life is apprising,
Pending only a few mind’s their realizing,
Of love’s precept which is uncompromising,
Where shall you be(?), at the precept’s advising…

In life’s ascension of illusion’s mountain,
Toward the drinking of your precept’s fountain,
Of clear, free moving waters, life appertain,
Where forever love’s precept shall be obtained!

Since the very dawn of precept’s greatness of spawn,
Parasites of concept’s might, sought the abject wand,
Oh Judas concept, mind inept, precept abscond,
The Stubborn Ox, the metaphor correspond!

The belligerent concept, of elder mind,
In complex darkness, is groping, seeking to find,
Within the whorish darkness first light’s refine,
Out of void of darkness came light, mind was blind!

The Hammer

Who can hear, the mornings call?
The dead dove's body, as it des fall.
Who can see through, the dead man's eyes?
As the burning sun, falls from the skies.

What once was new, has now become old,
What once was alive, has now become cold,
What you believed, was worth a lot,
Is burnt to ashes, in the melting pot.

Let's start again, I hear them say,
Let's start again, another day,
Let's make again, what we made before,
Spill more blood, on the kitchen floor,
Lift the cross, up on the hill,
Load the guns, to fight and kill.

Fight and slaughter, till there's non one left,
Till your mind is empty, your heart is deaf,
You thought that, I was a soldier too,
You thought that I said, I love you,
But I tell you now, and I tell it true,
The angles of heaven, and the angels of hell,
Are riding now, to the ring of deaths bell.

What you thought, was silver and gold,
Are ashes and dust, on the open road,
What you knew was good, what you knew was true,
The hot sun has dried, like the morning dew,
The very memory, of hope and despair,
Is lost in the hole, of your soul laid bare.

The empty hole, behind the clouds,
The music and the laughing crowds,
Are dead and gone, have faded away,
As a new sun rises, on a bright new day,
I tell you now, and I tell you true,
As the hammer of me hits the anvil of you

Steel Butterfly

A weak worm hatched
From an egg that is fragile
Trying to survive the world
Full of predators and guile

Romanticsm has been just an instrument
To be confined in the ego
And a faint serfage
On behalf of love upon herself

So she claims herself
No longer merely a companion
Metamorphosed as time goes by
A mild steel butterfly

Groundswell Girl - Named by JB

Enter a storybook tale
Where I can be
The heroine you hail
Lucid dreams of soft reflection
A touch heated with lust and desired protection
A breathe a gasp as we succeed
Join the fairytale with me
Valiant night within dark eyes
the right movement and I make them shine
like moonlight on the steamy hot spring
care to follow for a little dip with me
Trailing like the water at my fingertips
Grasp me around my hips
As close as the breeze on my skin
Whisper lies as I let you in
Lips mumbling up my thighs
bare heart exposed to the sky
fire burning in my veins
Am I a mistress of this lust or simply a slave
Trembling with desire
Take me till we've lost count of the hours
enter this storybook tale
Where I can be the heroine you hail

The Canvas

This poem is a farewell piece of advice to a group of students I have taught over the last four years. I do
hope they find the metaphor meaningful and believe that they are the "architects of their own future."

Spread before you is a canvas of hope and opportunity Waiting to be painted with strokes of what you are and can be Waiting to be filled with colours that define you and the life you live Waiting to be stamped with the personality that only you can give To the portrait of your life, by itself a work of art A work which, on this day, with vigour you will start Spread before you is a canvas of vision and desire Waiting to be sketched with shades of passion and fire Waiting to be decorated with a story and theme Waiting to be etched with ambition that is now just a dream Of a picture whose tone, texture and style Would have made this work worth all the while Spread before you is a canvas, empty, yet full of space Waiting to be stroked with your wit, charm and grace Waiting to be brushed with strokes daring, vivid and bold Waiting to be painted with a story that can be told Of a life whose essence is one of sublime beauty Of a person who lived his life and did his duty Of a person who lived life the way it should be Of a complete canvas that will reflect many a memory.

The Door

Noah’s ark was real not a fiction
It had a door to escape God’s affliction
Noah delivered a warning message
But the folks mock their own presage

Men grew in sin and matured in transgression
And ignored Noah’s loving confession
The Door stood open a long time
Until time begin to climb

The Lord finally shut the Door
And the rain begin to pour
120 years of grace finally came to a halt
God administered judgment by default

The Door was a glorious type of Christ
He was the Lamb of God who was price
Jesus said “I am the Door of the sheep”
He is the only Door of that Great ship

Jesus is our Door of salvation
Wherein we enter and float as new creation
Behold He stands at your door this day and knock
Let Him in, you’ll find pasture as a partaker of His Holy flock

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep- John 10:7

Water Being Cleaned

The ram died high
On the snow covered
Mountain, when the thaw
Of spring came, it's
Decaying body

Contaminates
The melting snow
The waters flow
Brings death in grip

The farther
It traveled
The less germs

And death
Were there

Clean

(This is also a metaphor for sin. The farther we stay away from it the cleaner we stay. Of
course, we can repent but the results lingers.)

Generic Minds

generic minds listen to generic music
have generic thoughts that are unknowingly abusive
watch generic things talk about generic things
gee this generic *****is spreading like a disease
better get your flu shot
thats what they said to me
a suicidal vaccine
a subliminal killing spree
its contagious and the outrageous
thing about it is that the people are blind in an eye
that they didn't even know they had
it's sickening to watch these clueless civilians
inside the looking glass
with nightmares of being free
without a key to their mind
for it is trapped in the frequency
in the illusion of time
bathed in our universe
killing all that refuse to see
those that admit to hypocracy
or see the message in hip hop
how cant you see
the message in the lyrics that
bring adolescents to their knees
from bullet wounds conflicting their flesh
contradicting that they're the best
but the songs keep telling them that they dont need no rest
that they dont wanna go home
that they should ride alone
with the gat as their only companion
and so the only path they choose is the one that they're told
until they grow old and hope turns to a window pane
inside a window pane, until all they feel is pain
they realize that the music itself is ashamed
so whats to look up to
when you cant even speak when you cant even walk because you look so bleak
your eyes are sunken from the tv you're infested with the dee zees
now its too late to turn around and live for your conscious
so when youre screaming oh please
close your eyes and bring your mind to life
open your eyes for the first time
and never wonder why
since the answer this entire time
has been inside
and you better find it before you die
you dont want your soul to be in a pool with all the others
a buncha brothers missing their mothers
but only seeing strangers
only feeling the haters
wishing they would have used their minds when they had them
and now its too late,
now it's time for another new born fate to grab them

The Game

My life has been one enormous charade,
A make believe game,
A play I have played,
A story I tell myself, day and night,
Hidden from myself, out of sight,
A game of hide and seek,
While searching for something else to eat.

The game,
A cosmic game,
A comic game,
A bad joke,
A puff of smoke,
A laugh,
A bath,
A lonely path,
The Game.

I used to take it so seriously,
Think it, feel it so real, so perfectly,

So certain I that was right,
That I lived in the light,
So convinced that I knew the rules,
So obvious I had all the tools,
That I saw the truth,
That I saw the light,
Would win the battle, win the fight.

Heard the sound of the distant drum,
Calling me to battle with the devious one.
The walls of my ego were high and mighty,
My dreams and delusions danced in front of me,
Their smooth dark surface impossible to climb,
Images I swallowed and thought were mine.

I made them alive, moving and real,
Twist and turn like a slimy eel,
Just to tell myself that I was still someone,
Playing in the game and having lots of fun,
Just to tell me and to tell you,
That I wasn't a loser,
So I wouldn’t hear the words game over.

Game over,
Check and mate,
Here's the gate,
You have to take,
Out of the Game,
The game of shame.

The game of avoiding being blue,
Of dogging the bullets they shot at you,
The atomic bomb they drop on your head,
The monsters that they put under your bed.

The game of hiding away,
Live to play another day,
Even if it's only make believe,
The prizes in plastic,
And not worth a dime,
At least I have the impression that they are mine,
At least I don't fell the pain,
The pain of shame,
In this perverted game.

So that I don't feel I'm a prisoner,
Tied to this post,
Don't even realise that I'm only a ghost,
That the truth is well hidden,
On the board of the game.

That the prizes are in plastic,
But they are shiny and new,
The paint hardly chipped,
The emptiness hardly shows through,
The laughing is loud,
The smiles are all warm and friendly,
And we are all together,
Joyful and happy.

The illusion is REAL,
And only the mad man knows,
That it's a rotten deal.

Just Be

Sometimes I admire the littlest things
A simple rock. A blade of grass.
They need no future goals, no tax exemptions
They don’t need to go anywhere or be anything
They just are.

Sometimes, especially when I’m reading life insurance policies,
I envy the rocks and the grass
And try to be like them for a moment.
I sit perfectly still and give myself to the wind-
And it whispers in my ear:
Just be.
And for that moment I don’t need to go anywhere or be anything.
And at the snap of my fingers,
All the complex widgets and gizmos that make up my life
Fold into paper airplanes and fly off in the wind.

Solipsist

Let the Deicide commence.

You're a voyeur at best!
Your vampiric heart is beating out of your chest!
And you have slayed the ones whom would love you for anything less
Ready to consume the final fragments of innocence,
And for you there is no forgiveness,
On your knees pleading, screaming to a tyrant in the skies;
The father of lies.

I will never be enslaved in your superiority
The people agree: jaded of your false dichotomies.
Know: I will be whomever nature intends to be
Apollo and I will share our dreams,
and you will be forced to see
your failure!

I know who you are...
Readily the first to present your scars
Chained by some despot or mental czar
An emotional homunculus in your mind, behind bars
Reluctant to escape - even when proven fake
Your demented mind - depths no one will penetrate!

...And you see me suffering
Not caring of any casualties
Just as long you recieve your safeguard of sympathy
So very wary of the masses and their Anarchy; Liberious ways

Solipsist - Is there no one you can see?
Even if she was presented burning?
Solipsist - Is there no one you can believe?
Even if Sophia was screaming?
Solipsist - Know you have killed and abused me
Imprisoned in your own personal reality

Two Trees

Oh tree to my right how you mirror the left
Tree on the left, with great vigor you grow
When waters run dry, your roots search below
To the ends of all branches; lush fruits like Eden
Hundred thousand leaves dance in the wind

Oh tree to my right what phantom did come
Yielding fruit no more; nor vivid leaves to sway
All branches have ceased, no more but a stump
Fifty thousand leaves dance in the wind

Oh tree to my left so valiant, so true
A whip of your branch & firm grip of the wind
To the right, one seed you give; let life grow anew
Solitude tis as fire bound for a tree, a simple truth to all
Fifty thousand leaves dance in the wind

Oh tree to my right; look, now you're grown
As was, now are; from the tree to the left came your rebirth
Teeming with life & beauty displayed
Hundred thousand leaves dance in the wind

The Autumn Affect

There's something unspecific about the autumn nights
A certain shade of color that uplifts my inner child's eyes
Beside a cashmere moon Venus and Jupiter shine bright
Complimented by a sea of blinking infinite twilight
The scent of burning oak lingers in the air from home made fires
Reminiscent of a time when this man was just a child
Careless and so free to dream and any dream to live
Like feathers floating across a field carried by the wind
As a gentle breeze blows through the leaves shivering delightful gloom
Unlike flowers of springtime the disheveled autumn vibrance bloom
Leaves crackle beneath my feet along the skeleton tree path
Where I try to find my peace or a song to make me laugh
The air is so much crisper and also soothing when I breathe it in
Underneath a starry sky and brighter constellations of Heaven
Amidst the trail I pass a lovely couple holding hands
While their children run aside frolicking in a playful dance
An old man and his wife admire the view from a wooden bench
With smiles on their face as if nostalgia is still their closest friend
Its these specific autumn affects that bring me sorrows and joy
Reminding me of all theses things Ive wanted as a man since I was a little boy
Its times like these that I wish I wasn't always so alone
Because I would light an fire with my family and call it home

the Rose

The Rose innocent white, soft pink, yellows
colors touch your soul vibrant red to amethyst

enhances beauty yet a thorn awaits to break skin
as life does piercing your heart with a thin pin.

My life has shed drops of blood through each petal
as if in return for the love and beauty you feel

hence pain underneath patiently waits the bloodletting ~

The rose symbolizes love yet vulnerable to hold
for when you open your heart it can be left bleeding

The best of surgeons can not beat your heart
It is the inner faith and God himself whom gives strength

whispers in your ear you shall live you will exist
your life meaningful as the water and sun to the rose

For I am your God your existence is not over yet .

Sea And Space

I see outer space
As the place
To retrace the roots
Of the human race.

I see under the sea
Is where our bodily
Cells first came to be.

Man's heart is in the stars,
Holding onto the dream to reach Mars.
Man's history,
Written in the stars as destiny.

I am but a child,
Born onto this planet turned wild.
I am but a soul
Sent here to alleviate the toll.

I see a sea of stars,
A healing ocean for our scars.
I see an empty crater
As void as our love for our Creator.

Man's fate has
Always been to create.
Man's destiny is to face
The sailing of the vastness of sea and space.

Trilogy

She splendid came before the light of dawn,
Emerged from Halls of deep memoir's efface;
'Let me express my love in eyes and ways,
before death turns me back to granite stone.'

Embraced were we while the winds raced moaning,
our strings of lives joined outside of mute grief;
there was a hope left when the arcane Nymph
fled East, towards the first light of morning.
..............

Unvirtuous sons of metamorphosis,
vociferous assault - lives to degrade,
with cymbals' wrothly thump, my land invade,
drums' beat enacts my apotheosis.

They cut me thrice and once as I slaughter,
grotesque barbarians, that fight entranced;
I prayed to dawns' refulgent light; enhanced
their monstrous growls fly with a twilit bird.

Accented their trilogy - immoral,
from deep wounds - inferior weep their cries,
euphoric Spring forces them to baptize
in anaphoric flowing red to flora.
..............

She splendid came before the light of dawn,
Emerged from Halls of deep memoir's efface;
'Let me express my love in eyes and ways,
before death turns me back to granite stone.'

Eat A Little Piece

Poem: Titled: Eat A Little Piece? My Poetry on PoetrySoup
 Written by: Ronald Watson.
March 10, 2013.

Eat A Little Piece?
Ethel, she is an elderly little lady who bakes sweet tasty treats, and constantly, she is asking,” Please, come on, eat a little piece?”
It was her secret cooking recipe’ that would knock the socks right off of your feet.
Then, she gathered up together all of, “The Powers That Be.”
When it came time for them to eat a little piece.
To sip it up with their coffee and tea;
Devour some up like, the cookie monster on: Sesame Street.
Either, it should taste more like, their moms red beans and rice.
Or it would taste just like, those sweet and honey barbeque ribs that is cooked so nicely.
Because it is her secret cooking recipe’. Yet, still she is asking, “Come on now, please try a little peace?”
But, they all just stood and shook their heads, saying that they were all having War instead. My Poetry on PoetrySoup

Who Am I

Who am I?
Question indeed!

  W-eaned from tender
age,in noble family of ten.
  H-urt by the demise of
the tube that brought
me into this theater of
struggles and pains.
  O-rdered about by the
whimps of this
world,facing the hurdles
of life daily from
cradle,never giving up
hope.

  A-fine young man of 28
I am,who has the
experience and wisdom
of the aged.
  M-astering the arts of
life-learning from lessons
of life's victims and
didactic poems 'cos man
of fame I intend to be for
I bear the name Bob.

I-lost my poetic gift at a
stage but recovered it in
poetrysoup for invisible
entities say a
lesser being I shall be,but
another encourages me
to move on,for great is
one who comes out of
the shackles of life
undeterred for this is who
I am.

Rainbow

Running through the universe,
Looking for the light,
I found a broken rainbow,
Crying in the night.

I tried to glue it back again,
Fix it's bleeding heart,
But the circle had been broken,
Before it's song could start.

The push and pull of meaning,
Are tugging at my sleeve,
The million colours dancing,
In the cloth the weaver weaves.

Are burning in the darkness,
Burning in the night,
As the rainbow goes on crying,
Sinking out of sight.

And now I'm crying loneliness,
Crying on my knees,
The butterflies of emptiness,
Are dancing in the breeze.

Running through the universe,
Looking for your face,
I come back to the start again,
To find my tail I chase.

I know I've found my destiny,
I know that it is true,
The beginning and the end of it,
Is where we'll all meet you.

Conium

With airy moves the thinker tried to gulp
one more full glass of the potent liquor,
'das zould bee iit', he said, in English calque,
'afta zis bottle I'll be a quitter'.

His mind analyzed why Socrates drunk,
instead of this pure nectar, conium,
He started writing knowing he would flunk,
and his pen's gems would be zirconium.

He drunk and gargled the eighty proof gold,
in his blurred vision Philipp Lenard laughed,
and Karl Max Plank's postulate did unfold
quantized integration calculus' craft.

He wondered if the philosopher's norm
that electromagnetic energy,
could solely emit in quantized form,
was the discovery of last century.

(You know in zis vorld ze gut schnapps is rare,
like slivovitz und aquavit und kirsch),
he read somewhere from drinks to be aware,
- 'Chain nuclear reactions' book of Frisch,

Outraged he saw the drink's surface descend,
with airy moves he called the liquor store,
Maxwell's equations started to blend,
through electrodynamics slept with snore.

Butterfly

I once was like a catipiller young, naive, and new
Always living from my heart not knowing what
else to do.Easy to take advantage of, that is
just the case, people would walk over me
like I was their dirty used up suitcase.
Now I feel a newness coming, like a light
shining from the sky, colors fill my world
and I know I am blooming into a butterfly.
Purple,Pink, Blue and Green I can feel them
flowing through. Colors of the rainbow raising
me into full bloom. Wise and strong I am becoming
My faith leads me where I need to go giving me
insight and wiseness for only me to know.
I have not done this on my own you see
I have been guided by God and Angels
on this Earth. Wise words the wisdom at
it's best comes from a wise lady who
seems to know me best. Lucky, I am
to have her in my life, she always shoots
it straight and tells me like it is, knowing
her words touch my heart and gives me tons of faith..
I feel like flying through the sky or climbing
a tree way up high. I feel like observing the
world just like a brand new butterfly so as I
Bloom I become Anew something unlike the past
Smart and wise beautiful on the inside and outside
a touch of color here a touch of color there
makes me glow and become a beautiful blooming butterfly...

fenetre bleu

fenêtre bleu

The sky embraced night's darkened silent shout
outside your bleu fenêtre, alone I stood,
my mind succumbed to null - and crossed to doubt
- a broken model made from balsa wood.

The foolish daughters of the gusts - (some thought!),
came to escort sky's sovereign tears - clouds shed,
you fled above; sepia contrast - and naught,
in air the photograph adheres - my wed.

And then the vastness chose to die - (my soul!)
in that same dream I kissed your palms - and craved,
soul's longitudes that sing and lie - stand tall,
deep burns this solitude's realms - engrave.

In air suspending a newspaper folds
remote's her dance, that renders winds approach
her insignificance my spirit holds,
before the window mends my blue night thoughts.

Coming From Where I'm From

Coming from where I’m from
By Nate Spears
Published 2013 in “Death OF A Rose” By Nate Spears

Coming from where I’m from
Every day is a battle to survive
War is in session
Right before our eyes

Each day we battle lessons
Just to be in the running for blessings
Coming from where I’m from
We move rapidly on missions

The dead is alive with every walk of the lifeless
Limited income withholds wealth
The living is near death
Spirits are stripped of guilt

Coming from where I’m from
Deprived wealth
Creates bad health
In occurrence to this
Good feelings are killed

The worst gets exposed
As times get worse
Financial situations become a disaster
No man on earth can rehearse

The world is broken
Hunger brings harm
Coming from where I’m from
Dictatorship is not fond

The environment brings the need to shoot
These activities loosens the roots
We’re grounded by values as thin as a pin
We lose ourselves at falling rates like bowling pens

No free passes
Prisons filled in masses
Separated by classes
Coming from where I’m from.

The Bus

I am the bus
The bus you see going.
The full bus
The empty bus
The half-fill bus.

I am the bus
The bus you must talk about
The red bus
The old bus
The new bus
The anyhow bus.

I am the bus
The bus everyone is talking about

They see me coming
And then going
They know not my station
And though they talk,
I am going.

Zin

Withering auras of Zin surround
The tears of a crying heart
Trickling down through ancient vines
Spilled into pools of sacred red wine

Where pain freely flows
Until the brooding heart glows
Embraced in time, sharp edges refined
Drifting to sheer delight

Zin pours from sepulchers divine
Sanctioned in muted candle’s light
Promises the spirit to ignite
Reflected in his sparkling eyes

Distance

Are we not all
The night sky for our atoms,
A brilliant display for our elements,
A grace for our composure?
All are vivid; All are rich,
But as with any star,
Dimmer with distance.

EN ROUTE TO A BLESSING

TO MOVE FORWARD
TO MOTIVATE OTHERS
FOR EMPOWERMENT VIA NON-PROFIT
TO ACHIEVE WHAT HAS BEEN SAID TO BE IMPOSSIBLE!

Is there a greater focus to determine a greater faith?
Why ask, if you are living the best way?

TO STEP-TO-THE CAUSE
TO BE A POLITICAL POWERHOUSE
TO PROVIDE MOTIVATION
TO INSPIRE A NATION

What is your focus to be?
I ask because a destiny is perceived.

TO BE TO DO
TO LOVE TO LIVE
TO QUEST TO ACHIEVE
TO SEEK TO DEFINE
TO FIND TO SEEK OUT
TO ESTABLISH TO ASCERTAIN

What questions have you not ask?
Bringing forth this knowledge is to introspect.

The Glass Goddess

All around me
Great cities made of sand.
Green sky scrapers poke through the ground
To thrive in life’s strict conditions
And melt away with the tide…

Great houses made of cards
Form lines, and tightrope walk existence,
Knowing that any moment, the wrong brick may fall
And buckle our world to its knees
As Mother Earth shouts Jenga! from the sidelines.

So while were here
We dance with the Glass Goddess
Poised miles above reality,
Leaping over the heavens on our domino stilts-

We floor it in the sky
Living death in the fast lane,
Seizing the day
Because any moment
We could disappear
Into

BRIDGE

IF your journey feels so heavy
YOU don't know what to do
NEED someone in the ready
A brother to pull you through
FRIEND dry your tears I'll be steady

I am never going to leave your side
SAILING with you on stormy seas
RIGHT now, and always forever
BEHIND to catch when you need me

LIKE an angel you can count on
A rock to comfort in uncertain times
BRIDGE of hope I'll cross to rescue
OVER the years when life doesn't rhyme
TROUBLED friend who's down and out
WATERS won't drown, It's time to shine

I will lay it all down to keep you sailing
WILL see you embrace dreams one day
EASE your sails friend your getting closer
YOUR almost there you've found your way
MIND now relax that's success your inhaling

Oh lonely Inevitable Bear,
Padding claws, death in white
Sorrow in recurring nightmare
Instinct’s test; fight or flight?

Camouflage against the fence,
A challenge; my subconscious fear
Ominous slowly moving silence,
“Let me in, there’s a bear out here!”

The Parish

When the time comes we shall all gather,
People of all walks and talks together,
In front of the parish for the Holy Communion,
It is here that we meet our companion,
In holy matrimony we unite before the father,

But this is no ordinary parish,
We separate men from boys before they perish,
We relish in wines and spirit,
Just like church goers after the Holy Spirit,
In beer we trust because its fetish,

The parish,
I drink until i perish,
In beer my life i cherish,
I wish to make a wish,
Parish, perish, cherish, i wish,

Just like the church seeing holiness in the pope,
In the bar tender we see drinking hope,
We speak in tongues under the influence,
And we never shy away from an audience,
So don't demonize us, we don't do dope,

Just like Jesus who walked on water,
We keep on walking like Johnny Walker,
On your wall the Holy Virgin Mary,
On mine you'll find the famous Hale Berry,
Unlike them were living our happily ever after,

The parish,
I drink until i perish,
In beer my life i cherish,
I wish to make a wish,
Parish, perish, cherish, i wish,

We've never missed a bar gathering,
On several occasions you've missed a church meeting,
We pay all our dues to the bar tender,
You hardly give two percent tithe to the preacher,
So when we meet in hell spare me the greeting,

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

Tomorrow is Ours

Tomorrow is Ours.

Suffocating beneath the weight of historical fear,
asphyxiated by the legacy of traumatised yesteryear,

the festering wounds of enslavement still remain,
juggling euphemisms in a crisp sound-bitten refrain,

spewing out neo-liberal economic charades,
doling out charity in strips of plastic band-aids,

but,

tomorrow shall be ours,

casting away subservient mind-sets that shackle,
no longer the weakened prey of the insatiable jackal,

tomorrow shall be ours,

we shall reclaim our plundered mindspaces,
we shall shed our chains, leaving behind the traces,

of past injustice, of the hurt and pain of our ancestors' sorrows,

we are here, now, alive with hope,

we shall rightfully claim our own tomorrows.

Gratefulness

To be absolutely certain To be firmly convicted in principle and belief Is the scariest feeling of all But, like all feelings, it never lasts The conviction stays, but the mind wanders Deep into the zones of ostensible comfort Where it rests merely to frenzy Into the streets of opposition Straight into the absolute wrong But the feeling never lasts It returns to the minute certainty The mind becomes determined in the conviction it has embraced And the best feeling rises above the initial fear: Gratefulness

The Silent Lamb

The silent bell rings in the night,
Calling the devils to kneel to the light,
What once was, becomes no more,
As the light breaks through the open door.

What you think and what you feel,
What you saw and thought was real,
Is now only dust on the road,
The desolate remains of your ancient abode.

The new light is rising on the hill,
The new song is singing down in the well,
The new souls are dreaming of your face,
The new hearts are beating at you pace.

The old ideas and reasons you gave,
Are buried in the tomb and in the grave,
The rotting bone and flesh are gone,
In the morning dew, in the morning sun.

The light shines through the open door,
Casts no shadow on the old dirty floor,
The ancient laws of reason and might,
Crumble to dust in the morning light.

What once was real and certain as rock,
Is now the dream the baby forgot,
The new light coming to wake you my love,
The silent lamb and the flying dove.

Dying to Live

Dying to Live From off this bier I will arise one day. And nothing that has cowered me before, Will hie me back again from whence I stray; I leave, and seal the mausoleum door. When from that threshold that I do depart, I leave my travails lying on the floor. Knowing that this new life stands apart, I turn my back on fear I cannot tame. Determining that I will make a start, Where love and hopes rebound, and bear not shame. But fear will not hinder my hurried flight, From hush-voiced days I lost that whispered blame. And though I stumbled through with blinded sight, I boldly challenge terror-shrouded night.

The halo effect

If there is one thing I remember
It is what life told
Just open your eyes
All that glisters may not be gold
So who is to blame and whose fault I hold
The halo effect, the one in disguise
Manifesting deception in front of thy eyes
Treat one different because of their look
Why read? Judge the cover of the book?
But you do read others because they don’t have the look
If you understand, how long has it took?
The halo effect, we magnify a trait
Condone the flaws, we magnify a trait
Attractiveness, is this what you mean?
All this talk, my perception a feign?
What I see, aint what it seem?
Huh, thanks for this, as well as that.
The halo effect, my mind was hacked.

The prison of the keys

And now I've lost my papers,
My passport and my wife,
The very essence of
My identity and life.

My bank account is empty,
My cloths and garments sold,
My skin and bones are ashes,
Spread thin on the open road.

My old car's broken down,
No wheels to touch the floor,
The motor been dismantled,
Stripped clean down to the core.

The bailiffs and the policemen,
Have emptied my abode,
The promises I made you,
Have been auctioned out and sold.

The love I hold within me,
Is all that I now have left,
The rest is bleak illusion,
The bind man and the deaf.

The imaginary people ,
I thought were my friends,
Have left the scene forever,
As the road of life does bend.

And now I stand alone,
Upon this lonely hill,
I gaze upon the meanings,
The years have silently killed.

In the roaring storms of thunder,
In the lightning in the night,
In the whispering of the children,
In the white doves lonely flight.

In the dust of many ages,
That has settled on my soul,
In the ashes of my humanity,
That has filled my begging bowl.

The ancient breeze is blowing,
Calling me to my knees,
To behold the light within me,
In the prison of the keys.

I am but a Vessel

I wish I were empty,
I could easily be filled with that which is from God.
Yet I have been filled with the things of this world.

Pour out my Self,
fill me with the Spirit,
the good gifts from God.

I am but a vessel,
that which enter me is that of which I am full.
I must fill myself with that which is from God,
I must surround myself with Him,
so He is that of which I am full.
Fill me up Lord.
For when I am full of You,
....of Your Love,
....of Your Word,
that is who I will be
....Your Love.

Fill me with Your Love Lord.
I will travel through this world,
I will not be swayed by worldly temptations.

The more of You that lives in me
the more of You there is to fill this world.

Use my body as Your Vessel
to bring the world to You
....to Your Glory
....to Your Grace
....to Your Mercy
....and Your Love.
Fill me, Lord, with Your Great Love.

A GIRL JUST WANTS TO HAVE FUN

Friday night and I am already high as a kite plus this is a girl’s night out.
I will take a nap to lower my high and awaken ready to party.
This is my night to enjoy me.

I am awoke and sober.
The clock ticks four p.m.
My arousal is provoking incitement.

Humor the soul
Ignite the spirit
This is my night out.

I move to my closet and chose my outfit.
My selection is a sky blue maxi.
I smile mentally and know this well get me attention.
I am single by the way; however, I have had prior engagements.

In the club now, loud and rowdy, my wit will not end.
I am drinking bourbon.
Shall I go straight tonight or am I a gay girl?
My sexual feeling is driving me wild.
Has my sex partner made it in the house?

Humor the soul
Ignite the spirit
This is my night out.

Boisterous I precede.
He enters via the east wing.
He is dressed to kill.
I sashay toward him.
Someone pulls me on the dance floor.
He takes a seat and waits for me with eyes glowing.

The dance ends.
He holds out his hand.
Together we leave.

Specters we are.
Spiritually alive!
This is my night out.

Shimmering Darkness

She woke up everyday
to the beckoning of death's toll.
But decided to embrace life,
pulling herself from the darkened hole.

With a new brightness in her eyes,
she lived life as partially buried gold.
Never afraid of the darkness,
or what the future may hold.

Shimmering beneath the dirt,
her beauty shall now unfold.
True legacy lies hidden to reign,
for a prodigy has risen from bitter cold.

One example of grace goes far,
farther then any story ever told.
With strength that comes from deep within,
that's been held from days of old.

Among the majority she lived,
witnessing atrocities flare.
From her soul she would always give,
though no one seemed to care.

As the bells of sadness began to ring,
she would rise above the gloom.
Out of darkness and despair she would sing,
with a melody that filled the room.

The tears that had fallen proved as strength,
to her ever-impending light.
Onward traveling to any length,
for what she believed was right.

When darkened paths shimmer,
despite the pangs of apathy,
through life she will always glimmer,
no matter what the tragedy.

The Canvas of Night

The Canvas of Night

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

enthralled by the wonder of the cosmos,
my dreams take to the heavens in effervescent flight,

I bathe in the beauty, soaked in sublime delight,
absorbed in moments of bliss, transfixed by the serene sight.

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

and my being is infused with feelings of hope,

for even in darkness I find the sprinkled sugar of hope's light.

Scribbling verses,

You Are Rich

Festered lament maddens me
Why must the despair of my heart’s desire
Truly enlighten me?
I rested among the sick and lame
And found myself no different from the rest
For a troubled mind holds endless poverty
Penniless regret marks as a sickness no doctor can prescribe
For the bottles of balm are empty
And medicinal hope grows angry
I derived my madness from creativity
Revealing the remains of my humanity
‘Cool off, child’, I heard a soft voice whisper
But can’t you see I live off the flame?
It asks for no nickel or dime!
But it seeks to destroy all the same
The small voice returns at times
And often my heart listens
But we all listen
And only believe in the inevitability of pain
I speak of the majority
Not of you
For you are blessed and beyond disgrace
You have a life—a beautiful face

And most of all, you are rich
With attributes I can only dream of

You are rich with life and purpose
Holding inscrutabilities I can only wish to understand
You lift me without touch or care
Disposing me from your treasures
Because though you meant no harm,
You are rich with blessing
And must remove all possible threats
So my festered lament
Remains an enlightenment

I can say I am rich in poverty
But you are forever rich
In Mystery

What hurts the most is knowing
I may be wrong about you
For you are so obscure in this mind
And as empty as I am I wish to be filled
In your richness
But we all are filled to the brim in the end
And sometimes I cannot distinguish the good from the bad
There is nothing I wish to discard
So I hoard in constant deficiency and despair
And I hoard the idea that you are beyond compare

That you are rich
And always will be richer
Than me—or he

The Purpose of Silence

Silence—so embraceable are you!
It can neither sting nor soothe
It can neither be a poison or balm
It cannot be a curse or psalm
Cannot harm nor heal
Cannot numb or feel
It be only what our minds make of it
It be only what your imagination sculpts
Only what we assume
Only what we accept as true
All that have breath may utter lies
But silence rings no truth or false
No peace, no war
No clean, no gore. . .

The purpose of silence, and other things too,
Is only what are minds make of it
What we believe of it
This be the purpose of Silence—it’s true
So what is the purpose
Of me, of he—of you?

The Broken Girl-not me

Is my life not tortured enough for you to see?
I am broken as can be.
My heart is torn.
My tears stain these perfect floors.
Why are singing with glee?
Why do you not care about my every plea?
I am trapped in your arms.
I am the hopeless moth.
How did you pick me?
What is it that you see?
A girl untouched by life?
A flower blooming in the desert?
I have said goodbye to my loving integrity.
You took that from me through R-A-P-E.

I'm sorry

I'm sorry for you, for all I DID mean to.
I'm sorry for truth yelling under the letters.
I'm sorry for gloom I used to be into.
I'm sorry for words that were ment to be better.

I'm sure you'll learn how to be optimistic,
and all of your sorrow will burst in a firework.
I'm sure you'll taste both the carrot and broomstick,
and critic with sarcasm will become a fair quirk.

I'm sure you'll manage to blow off the ceilings,
to do something wierd, worth to be accused of.
I hope that you'll learn to sort out the feelings
and born the new tenet out of the used stuff.

I want you to find something to govern.
I wish you object every slightest assurance.
I warn you to leave any secret uncovered
so it won't appear as nightmare to you once.

Be careful with matches, refuel the gaslight,
extinguish the candle, let the night to mourn.
I'd say, single point to fear the Last fight:
to set Life aside until you'll have to moor.

Pledge Not The Allegiance

It's the third verse,
I got the urge to purge
All the curt words I've splurged,
I've submerged in sin,
I'll go to church repent,
Then go curse again,
Lets reverse this trend
We nurse tolerance,
When it might offend,
If I white wash my fence,
So try to not get tense,
When I do not defend,
Those who chose to be dense
And not use their two cents,
To show kids the reverence,
For the pledge of allegiance.

Drifting Mainly

You belong to me mate ( Intro )
And that be that!
Get on board
And grab your hat!

The ship was aghast at its new passenger	( Verse )
Like disdain for the lives that they now left behind,
Newcomers were scarce
And they never would last
But I held up my chin nice and high.

The bloke who took me screamed	( Pre-chorus )
“Mop up the deck we’ve got things to do!”
But I said sir,
I’m just a boy and don’t know what’s to do.

And he said ( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shores
Taking what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

Taking the seas for more than eight moons
We found islands and loot
That was bigger than most.
The taste of sea air
With its wind in my hair
Took me away to this new life I lead.

After mopping the deck
He grabbed my hand and screamed
 “Steer this ship boy!”
But I said sir,
I’m just a lad and don’t know where to go.

So the crew yelled	( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shore
Taking what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

Surprising to me
Was my unshaven face
The captain looked on
And smiled with grace,
We stopped at a place
Where the women were loose and didn’t mind
If we took a peak.

He said “Now you’re a man so let’s get on that boat,
We got places to be and some people to rope,
So grab that sword and drop that mop
Cause you’re no longer a boy in my eyes.”

I practiced the duel with the men in the crew
The captain took eye to my devilish pride,
And he took me aside and said
“Even in death I’m gonna miss you boy
But don’t let it strike you
Or kill your spirits
Cause even time can beat out the Grim.”

Then in the darkness came fire and screams,
Our vessel had stopped after fourteen years,
The crew fought hard and beat most of the men
But now, my Captain was dead.

We took the new ship watching ours sink deep
Saying goodbye to our drowning escape,
The crew turned towards me and asked
“What do we do?” and I smiled,
And they did to.

And we yelled ( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shores
Takin what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

Her Final Words

"No." She whispered before drowning into her sorrows.
Her life had been a simple happy one.
There were no pains and no troubles.
Life was life and people were people.
Life was simple.
and life was all about tomorrows.
Life didn't know about sorrows.
Her sorrows.
Those same sorrows that she drowned in never existed.
They were never there, but where?
First to be sad in the naive town of joy.
Sorrow became contagious and what was known as happiness no longer was there.
It was non-exististent.
A meager thought
and a blessed memory.
She tried and tried.
She failed and failed.
Life was no longer hers.
For Pain was her only possession.
Her curse.
She lived and she died.
Yet, her legacy was passed on.
Never was it gone.
"No." She whispered before drowning in her sorrows,
"Save them."

Thoughts

Thought are only feelings too,
Thoughts that I think so often of you.

Feelings are my sensations within,
The mud and the rubbish,
The diamond ring.

Sensations are the messages you send to me,
A sword, a cross, an olive tree.

So many images flash through my mind,
So many feelings to which I am blind.

So many thoughts that I never dare think,
Like old dirty dishes in the kitchen sink.

Hidden away beneath the shit,
The mud the blood and the rest of it.

Thoughts and feelings lost in the wind,
What really mattered is hidden within.

Within the noise, the laughing crowds,
Between the lines of a song sang loud.

A whispered caress, a gentle breeze,
A butterfly's wing, down on my knees.

Beneath the thoughts, behind the scene,
Under the feelings and what has never been.

Though the holes in time and space,
What is always forgotten, your long lost face.

Shining brightly for all to see,
It was never you, it was always me.

Always me down in this pit,
Thinking and fighting to make sense of it.

Always me blocking the way,
Blocking the door to keep out the day.

Always me who had the last word,
Propping up, the blind and absurd.

Always me with something to say,
Thinking and feeling my life away.

Sometimes

Sometimes there is silence,
Sometimes there are words,
Sometimes there is meaning,
Sometimes it's absurd.
Sometimes you are near me,
Sometimes you are far,
Sometimes there is darkness,
Sometimes guided by a star.
Sometimes we are up and
Sometimes we are down,
Sometimes we are slaves,
That wear a holy crown.
Sometimes we are arrogant,
Sometimes we are proud,
Sometimes we are someone,
Lost in the faceless crowd.
Sometimes we are rich and
Sometimes we are poor,
Sometimes we are angels,
Scratching at the door.
Sometimes I'm living and
Sometimes I am dead,
Sometimes there is no thoughts
Turning in my head.
Sometimes looking forwards,
Sometimes looking back,
The circle still unbroken,
The train still on the track.
Sometimes we are caught and
Sometimes we are free,
But we always come back praying,
Under this olive tree.

Conviction

Innocents is purity, which evil preys.
To endure such beings may leave one in decay.
Anger and hate will fill your mind, weakness seeping down your spine.
Fear gives in, you can not breathe and can not stand.
Darkness overwhelming with the end at hand.

A reaper comes to collect your spirit.
But on this day you need not fear it.
A helping hand he comes to give, he sees purity and light deep with in.
Pick yourself up young lad and breathe deep, your life has meaning if you seek.
Your mind is poisoned and your heart frail.
Stay steadfast your light will prevail.

Your conviction is strong, it never falters.
Take your pain and build alters.
Around your heart to ward off the dark.
Your almost there, protect your spark.
From the evil that dwells in your mind,
Leave it there and don't be blind.

Enjoy the beautiful things in life.
So you may better understand your strife.
For the road to glory is long and treacherous.
Do not fear because you are dangerous.
Armor thick forged in pain, spear of light leaving blood stains.

Do not fear the beast with in, control it and give it name.
Listen to the vibrations, now take aim.
He is your spear, your love is the light.
Protect the innocent and fight.

Glory comes, but does not wait.
To seek it out is to seek my fate.
Innocents cries, evil feeds.
A spear of light is what I will be.
Piercing the darkness of evil deep,
Until glory comes so that I may sleep.

Like the seraphs whose wings unfold,
Christ's light and glory goes not untold;
as the love of his humble grace
moves inside me all time and space,

as the planets orbit heaven's sun
and encircle it one by one--
so, too, am I caught in his sway,
beloved of him from day to day.

Through hosts of astral dimension
God's angels fix their attention
with expectancy and burning pause
amidst the universe's First Cause.

He, the one true Incarnation

and the archives of his kingdom
where all can come and read and know
what miracles he'll yet bestow.

Everything Has Weight

A feather may not break any bones while on it's downward spiral,
but it will nonetheless find a resting place
Though you may think Styrofoam isn't much of anything
if a whole house made out of it you still couldn't lift it
You may easily slice through the air thinking it's just the absence of everything else
and yet there's several megatons of the stuff in our atmosphere alone
Everything has weight
Even light will bend it's straight and narrow path
when unfortunate enough to come across a black hole

So how in the world can you still believe
that you are weightless?

Metepora

What lies beneath
The flooding drains
A spiders web
Spawned of rustic chains
If you ask me how I am
I'll reply that I'm ok
Hiding behind this mask
As I resume to face this day
Then theres the sights
A synonym of what I cannot find in you
But I have found
Sometimes hunger is the only kind of food
Have I lost my Faith?
Its something that I could never see
Then theres your eyes
Still falling away from me
But if I was a better man
Would your rivers run deep into outer space
While all along your insisting
That we are both two worlds away
Behold this longer list of denials
And uncertain hope
Reflecting fears of affection
And you still keep your eyes closed
Then by my own admissions
My heart has grown from cold to colder
And by my own submissions
Losing your love has bled me sober

Love Endures

Love floats by,

reaching,
tantalising,
meandering,

tip-toeing past pain,

leaping through walls,
weakening the barricades,

of the most private heart.

Love settles in,

trusting,
searching,
dissolving,

quietly beyond anguish,

erasing the desolation,
soothing a battered spirit,
enveloping the shivering soul.

Love stays, it is true,

love endures, as do you

Oh Sojourner

Oh Sojourner

By Ingrid Showalter Swift

Oh Sojourner

Walk among the tall lithe pines as they sway

beneath

subtle hues of lavender’s dusk

Reach your illuminas fingers
with polished nails a-glittered
in crystal-ed gold and diamond sight
out and into this thrusting long light
…Searing a golden pathway from sky into dark walnut and pine and lines of
these byways ..only angels and devils alone ...dare tread

This forest is a barrier thin enough to breech
so teach me!.....I plead of you....

with lips blazing ... the need to speak volumes…like heat rising

Make me a lit oiled lamp on a tall white post
singing out ...streaming out into the streets gray toned and grayed with the
beating
of the merciless weakness ...of humanity

lead me to hope….. yet still more
and pray

daring out …the dark night

yearning for just yet another... lilt hearted singular spring day to awaken within
the gates of this immortal town
held aloft by bone cavern and pale flesh tenting

Let light green springs erupt from me once more
and flow through all I meet
like the river shows the leaf to the ocean and then to the shore once more

You and I.

You.

Your heart blazed,
with a warmth of spirit,

soothing,

alluring,

soaked in truth.

Your smile burned,
branding me permanently,

gentle,

tender,

enveloping my being.

Your love was complete,
from the depths of your soul,

unsaid,

yet fierce,

bathed in silent knowing.

Your dreams were poetic,
fluttering in the afternoon breeze,
infused with the distilled essence of rhyme.

I.

I squandered your generosity of spirit.

I vainly discarded your priceless poems.

Now I stand,

alone,

empty,

desolate,

wasting away,

rotting inside, day by day.

Moon

Might I ask about what the moon means to you?
It means the world revolves in a transcending path with a satellite.
Why does the moon shine in the midnight sky?
It shines because it is a guide between the world of the dead and the living.

So does the moon fill the air with hope?
The moon itself is hope for people.
Why does the moon pull us in with such soul searching?
It is because we feel that the moon is part of our every day life.

Children who asks these questions; I have strive to tell them some truth,
And for the adults out there I created a little Moon lite poem to sooth.

So the moon is our light in the darkest hour of the night
With romance in the air that is so bright
We all hold hands once in a moonlit walk
And with such passion we would talk
The moon gives us our pull on each others heart
With a dinner that we take part
The ritual of wooing ones heart is a great feeling of love
The moon is always there to shine right above
In time we think we are blinded by the moon
But to tell you the truth it reflects the sun light during midnight noon
It gives out a warmth in the darkness
We probably do not think of it less
Because the moon is our memories of our past
It shows it everyday and night and always last

Emotional Hole

I did not find myself to be so important
So I ask my friends do I seem distant?
When I ask the question I had received an answer, Yes
So I think that made it clear that I had been not the best
I am a friend of a friend that talks so many things
That friend talks to much it is insane and insanity it brings
I do care, about my friends they are all good people
They tend to stand on their high steeple
Today I find myself not so aware
Disbanding my fear of regret and care
Walking many different paths I see that I have found holes
It is the path that people choose to use to fuel their rage with coals
Coals are partially burnt wood or fossils a piece of fuel
It is the source of burden and fire a rage of emotions that stands cruel
It can be warm and caring, but it also can be baring
I just start to feel so low, below the ground I keep on staring
I reach for my friends so many times I feel so ignorant at times
Just once I feel I should not rely on them when feeling I can not find
I dig my hole deeper and I can not climb out
For some reason I am just full of doubt
I care about so many things and what I have is confusion
One person should be all I should think about to get out of that illusion
My battle in my heart and mind is not at all so pleasant
I feel so alone in an island that is shaped like a crescent
My emotions is like coinciding with a diameter of the semicircle
Not a full emotion that is complete like a circle
My feelings is circular full of incomplete thoughts, so much deeper
I feel it will wake up my evil half a evil soul that is a sleeper
What question should I ask myself? to believe that I am not so alone
As I feel like a person who is deteriorating to the bone
I ask my friends the same question once again
I figure I should do it, to know what kind of feelings I should end
So many thoughts that come out of my feeling
I feel like my friends take, an emotional trauma of stealing
They ask me questions and I answer theirs
But when I need mine answered I feel burning inside like a flare
Are they even friends when they do not take me serious in anyway
Just put me in my hole cause I feel nothing in their will be getting in my way
It's just so simple to answer someones problem
I answer friends with beauty of a rose, but when they answer mine I get the stem
I know the stem is very important in life, with out it how can a rose be a rose
With a hole to put the root and stem in how can it grow
The words we speak I guess is like all natural things we reap and sow

Burnin' Knuckles

Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
There it goes,
But you don't even know your destination so,
With a shake of your head,
On goes the trip,
And a whispered three words,
This isn't it.

  Guided by a light,
Of thirty or fourty feet,
But your being driven by a heart,
That has forgotten how to beat.

   Oh No,
Here we go,
Another mile turns into another night,
Another day to drive right outta sight,
Ohhh it's a rollercoaster horror ride.
When looking over burning knuckles into the road,

Oh it's a roller coaster horror ride,
Lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
An' there it goes,
But you don't even know destination so,
With a shake of your head,
On goes the trip,
And a whispered three words,
This isn't it.

On it goes_ this isn't it,
On it goes_ this isn't it,
Your trip_ Into the unknown,
While lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
And guided by a light,
An' a heart_ that has forgotten how to beat.

Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
Strainin eye's on a light that guides,
Our way through what we dont know.

Ohh it's a rollercoaster horror ride,
Being guided by the lonely nights,
While lookin over,
Burnin' knuckles,
Into the road.

A Simple Wish

a simple wish...

no fancy words
no more clever rhymes
no more slickly crafted verse

just a simple wish
to cherish the moments
in-between the hue and cry of this life

no more the dull-edged jab
no more the anger and the strife

a simple wish
beyond the wasted hours and the days and the blurry fears

a simple wish
of a simpler life

after all the bitterness of the passing years

and so

to retire from the hustle
to flee from the hollow wasted breaths that have been breathed

to bid the emptiness farewell

while

ushering in the new tomorrow

bathed in the soft glow of hope

and kissing adieu to all the hurt and all the doleful sorrow...

Twilight Is A Sudden Sadness

Who am I to know that
the existence of heaven lives
in the pause between breaths
or that the story of creation is
a searing scar in the side of Jesus?

I have collected my pleasures,
like monsoons collect the dead,
have collected my memories,
the raw force of vitality,

the swift silk of a spider’s web,
the emptiness of being, all of this:
a country of vibrant emotions.

I have touched the sea with my hands,
bringing them together, feeling the abrupt
salt between my fingers, torrid like
the stinging whip of a lover:

Her tongue burns me alive with
its naked wine; her eyes dig
into the depths of mine.

Who am I to know that the Kingdom of God
lives in the stones, the fire, the water, the mud,
or that twilight is a sudden sadness like
gray blood clots caused by black thorns?

Still, my excitement is like a tower
of energy or a vigorous burst of sperm
or the moonlight’s mysteries fitting its key
into my soul where a secret stillness

wallows in its swaggering bliss.
I have tasted the meat of the universe,
its heart, its lungs, its liver, tasting it
with my gentleness, a gentleness like

soft lips, or a feather, or a lover’s whisper:
Her mouth burns me alive with its
raw juice; her heart feeds from mine.

Who am I to know that the Supreme Spirit
lives in the flies, the lice, the grub, or that
death’s bitter sorrow lives in the dust, the bones,
the ash, or in the agony of a broken heart?

—once, Jesus summoned me. He undid
his wounds with the jagged blades of
my tears. I held him, embracing him, saying:

My brother, my brother, my peaceful brother...
who am I... to know... who I am?

I Stand, Alone

I stand, alone.

Scratching for my truths,
peeling away the veneer,

I stand, alone, before this
impregnable cliff so sheer.

Cocooned in my solitary shell,
wrenching a smile from a tear,

I stand, alone, a little odd,
and definitely quite queer.

I stand, alone.

Contradiction

I’m my own worst enemy
Reality seems to challenge my sanity
I’m in a state of constant contradiction
I’m Batman, Robin Gotham city.
Can’t define myself, I’m meaningless by definition.
I’m my own worst enemy

I have everything I want except what I need
I’m not bias; I care about the colour of your creed
On Ramadan my sins I feed to fast on Eid
I’m a Christian walking with an evil entity.

I’m in a state of contradiction
Balanced yet unbalanced; I’m the problem and solution
I’m a smoker complaining about pollution
Can you see the irony in my conclusion?

I can concentrate
but
Can’t pocket-pay attention
I have eyes to see
but
The world perceives for me
I have a brain to think what my mouth could question
but
My heart fears to mention.

If my actions don’t make sense to you count me in
Sometimes you have to lose to win
A good man’s soul can be lost and never found
An evil heart can be love-bound.

Once you perceive the futility in turning a blind eye
Perhaps
You could be
The change you want to see
The change you want to be.

Signs

The signs are here, for all to see,
The thunder clouds, the dying tree.
The shining lights, that draw you near,
Loud heavy music, in your ear.

By word of mouth, or through cyber space,
The hidden pictures, of your face,
The northern lights, are dancing south,
The rumours you hear, by word of mouth.

The sign are falling, from the sky,
Raining stars, on the passers by,
While the battle rages, on underground,
The innocent dying, without a sound.

The cries of heaven, the screams in hell,
That no one hears, down in this well,
The terrible beauty, the open wound,
The innocent babies, in open tombs.
For all to see, for all to hear,
The blind man's painting, the deaf man's ear.

The birds are falling, the fishes drowned,
What once was up, has now become down,
The tender and loving, an empty shell,
The gross and the ugly, now the rallying bell.

The signs are here, for all to see,
Titanic sinking, on a blood red sea.

Winter Winds

Winter winds blow all around.
I’m astonished by the sounds of Jingle Bells and reindeer stomps.
All of this should never stop.
Snow lies on the ground, if only that weren't too profound.
Time only leads to decay, but not on Christmas, not today.
You should see the angels pray.
Toy trains, and rag dolls are the things kids used to want.
But time has changed, yes so have children…
Santa seems as if a villain.
So much fighting, so much crying, it sounds as if the kids are dying.
“I want money, I want fame, and these toys are just so lame.”
But that’s the product we provided.
Second chances are no more, Santa’s plot we wait for.
He’s sick of this, he doesn't care, it’s as if he’s not wanted here.
He gets ready to take it all back….
WAIT!
There’s still one toy left in his sack, it’s for a little girl, half a world away.
Now how could he have missed this, on the perfect Christmas day?
He turns around, not time for war.
This toy, the girl is waiting for… It’s not a toy like you’d expect.
She didn't ask for electronics, or stupid games such as Sonic.
She just wanted one small thing…
She’s waiting for something EXTRA special this gloomy day.
In a bed she sits and stares, at the window near a chair.
She’s so weak, and all alone.
She doesn't even have a real home, not where there are bright lights anyways.
They've decorated a weeping willow, the only tree around the “home”.
So she has lights to see.
It’s Christmas after all, but there’s no way to calm the raging sea.
She’s dying, it won’t take much longer, and she doesn't care about the tree.
She needs a new heart extra bad.
So, Santa’s bringing her the one thing, that will stop her parents from being sad.
He rushes to the hospital in his golden sleigh, and climbs right down the vent,
He’s saving Christmas today.
Santa rushes in just in time, finds a doctor, the girl is dying.
It’s not what he usually does, but he stays and watches as they save her life.
He waits for her to wake up.
“Santa, you saved my life, oh thank you so much! I needed my heart to be touched.”
He just smiles, and kisses her hand. He’s so glad he didn't destroy the land.
Christmas is still a special day.
There’s no more sorrow, no, not today. Santa smiles though some are still ungrateful.
There’s that one child, standing in the snow, her life can now be started in the evening glow. That’s life for the grateful, loving, caring, and the thankful. Most of the time Santa just gives toys. For all the good girls and boys. But not today, and not tomorrow, once a year he gets rid of sorrow. So sleep tight and say your prayers, Christmas time is but once a year.

Exist in Dreams

A dream that dances in waves, and mirrors all you do
So you dance, and hope that some day the song will come from you
This dream is all that exists, and all you’ve ever known
The song is picking up speed, so it’s follow or fail alone

A flame that flickers in sync with the shadows by your side
The rain puts out the light, and causes you to hide
This nightmare is all that exists, and all you’ve ever known
But this song still hasn’t stopped, and so you dance alone

You cherish sand on the banks of a path winding through a storm
This desert trail is all that you see; too blinding to look beyond
This path is all that exists, and the only way to go
Holding close the sand as you sing, just so you’re not alone

The sand is part of the storm that makes you close your eyes
But now the wind starts to slow, and the scenery makes you cry
This life is all that exists, and the only way to go
The sand falls through your hands, and you carry on alone

A love that blooms into being beneath the darkest skies
Is a life that will venture out despite the lonely nights
So scared, but so unafraid to find what you need to be
Despite the fear that prevails, and tells you what to see

The flames steady and still, and a shadow kneeling down
The rain cleansing your heart as all your fears drown
The sand creating a path, and shielding you from pain
And now, with the wind at your back, you remember why you came

To dream a light shining out for all the world to see
To be more than you think, and beyond all that will be
To create a desire to be the creators of our dreams
To become the mirror of self, and reflect our unity

Goa My Goa Carpe Diam

Abhorrent those phizog few, At times they flood his mind. He did not even know why them his mind drew, He has got to get down, reasons to find. His mindly nib, she oozes memories, Of old and new… far but few,but many ,that he knows not. On papyrus his mind scribbles and carries, And then drains encapsulated emotions that afore are now brought. His heart bleeds of porous feelings, Bleached and dried by furious despotism. Of people he knew real close in life’s dealings, Of the ones he had no knowledge of their absolutism. Blood flows from his weary eyes, Tears flow from his broken heart. But he has not yet learnt life’s game of dice. All he has borne is the fury of the tyranny’s dart. My thoughts like his lie chained , My mindly nib brings afore, Glued stuck and stained. Memories of the past eon all sore. Get up my Goa….. Can one dare to hope… Instead of all in this darkness grope All he can hear is Empty voices….. cold… dark and sterile, Shapless dreams , but sought in the midst of peril Black mirrored roads and murky simmering waters, Is no place for perfect reflections, but for our dream slaughters Leaving behind a land adorned by hungry eyes… Its beauty diminishing like wisps of smoke amidst populous cries…… Get up stand up…. ElseWe will run blinded in the dark, And meet the hard embrace Of whispered truth and scolding truth without a scenario of a worser case You are watched and inspected, Governed , directed , censored and corrected. You are told what to do, You are told how far to go. Where is that haloed glow? No more a part of your grand show, Have they driven your thoughts to a tangent, Oh then even your smile could shortly become pungent. Your sanity unseen Your senses now dumb that were earlier keen. I still cannot reconcile as to why? Why why and why? You still walk in sheathed in tatters of pride…. Lips closed but open eyed….. How long…….. Do we have to be forlorn How long…….. Do we have to be forlorn

Mind Thought Determination

What is mind thought determination?
It is the sophisticated thoughts of a individual wit self-taught mental sophistications.
It is the chemical mind thought process brain inspirational enhanced created word creations.
It is the one thought that keeps your hopes from being eliminated by your own weak minded self-doubt double eliminations.
It is the the thought that can turn your own pains into pleasure of our own sensified sensations.
It is the thought that can turn you into a leader of tis lost generation to inspire my reservation and maybe even in others parts of this nation to get your own redemptive vindication of those who took away your aspirations.
THIS WORLD IS YOURS FOR THE TAKNG.
Mind thought determination is for your embracing not to be forsaken,
you are your own movie in the making, let not your hope in the mind be shaken.
MIND THOUGHT POWER over all tis senseless hating, we got to stop all our senseless
chasing, you are forever a leader in this free world racing.
If you locked up it don't matter how much time that you facing.
INCARCERATION IS JUST A MIND THOUGHT METAPHOR FOR SELF-INFLICTED IMPOSED LIMITATIONS.
It is the thought to use what is against you and turn your hateration into inspiration.
IMPRISONMENT or EMPOWERMENT the choice is yours REINCARNATION over REHABILITATION.
My mind has but one destination of all mankinds fascinations .....and that is to finally use my MIND THOUGHT DETERMINATION.........

GROWING UP

On the empty floors I am watching the nights roll
flowing in other nights.
Nature's mirror has come to give birth and to destroy
the typhoons are embracing me, an unstoppable power
in my two arms.
Between logic and the holy the notions are lost
I am turning blue inside the sky's blue.
And I return again and again to repay the same sin
upon which my own blood has dropped
and with blood I try for centuries to pay.
My form is drawing circles
-what is your name?-my name is Human.
Can this mortality embrace the darkness?
Can my bare hands hold within them the air?
I was born for the renaissance of colours,
I threw green and yellow at the edge of the horizon,
I painted red the lost dreams of history
and I placed white on all the spots of the sky.
I was born to destroy and I dig pits everyday,
I bury inside them living truths and I cover them with shovel and water.
Be quiet! The seasons are sleeping...
With small knives I carve the corners of the world
until I find the bone to puncture it, deeper and deeper.
Our fears are breaks of the Universe
they are transfered from planet to planet,
they change orbit, while cleaving the clouds.
''Learn how to walk, learn how to talk, learn how to kiss, learn how to leave, learn how to love, learn how to kill"...
Hollow bodies at the mountains top are burning with the flames of redemption.
They carry the same rock everyday, everynight until they reach the end,
the end that doesn't exist.
They fill the glasses with water, the glasses that dont have bottom.
Don't ask me to change the world, you only gave me soil but you have forgotten the water
and with hands dry and dirty I collect time to repay you
for your graces, because there is light and there is darkness, because I stop in front of red and I walk in front of green.
But you don't know, you don't, that I find strenght everyday, since I opened my eyes,
I am preparing in silence and I am clentcing my teeth
because the time will come, when I will throw a big punch at this carton world,
I will tear it up in half and I will see what lies behind,
behind the lie.
Shaken off from my dirty morality
I will touch the sacred redemption
I will wake up from the dream,
I will embrace at last, for the first time, reality.

Anatomy of Destiny

Every letter that makes up a story of our future or fate,
is deeply dyed in everything we come across, and we'll
come across in the future; may it be the moonlight, rivers,
lover, book, television, jungle,....anything your eyes have
laid or will lay upon.

Our lives are made up of myriads of invisible letters;
letters that we can only see in deep silence. It is at
that moment that you are in a state of meditation,
that letters form words, words form paragraphs,
finally making a story of your entire life!

The Sieve of Time

The Sieve of Time

Cast ashore,
along the banks of time,

whirling through the passing years,
clinging to my futile scribbles set in rhyme,

Cast ashore,
thrust into an unrehearsed pantomime,

clenching slivers of joy as weariness descends,
lulled into a peaceful slumber exhilaratingly sublime.

Cast ashore,
hazily adrift, a dandelion seed on the wings of time,

trapped in the sieve of spiralling memories,
caught between pristine bliss, and reeking slime.

Cast ashore,
flung aside for no discernible crime,

my human heart thuds with elusive hope,
though battered, bruised, and covered in grime,

I stagger ashore,

alone,

embracing each moment of detached, oblivious time.

Portrait of the Soul

The blank canvas lies before me,
as I pondered how to begin.
What should I start with?
Start with drawing a picture,
perhaps add some color to the borders?

The more my mind wondered,
it makes it hard to describe
how to create a masterpiece
that represents my well-being.

Fear eludes my judgement,
judgement eludes my fear.
Will I love or despise it?
What will others think?

The canvas of my heart
Stares me right in the eyes,
Looking deep within my soul
Spoke softly to me as she said,
"Just let it come and leave fear behind."

I slowly picked up my paintbrush,
Dipped it in one of the buckets
Then I began to stroke against the canvas
Waves of blue appeared like ocean waves.

When I finished with the waves,
I continued forth with another color
My mind focused on the canvas
While my hand continued to move,
as more colors appeared before me.

Before I knew it
I stared at the canvas
No longer white as snow
It was full of beauty.

The calm ocean
Bright sun above
Clear blue sky
Whimsical clouds shift.

The beauty of the land
That nestled at the end
With a kingdom resting within
Where lovely flora surround it so.

Canvas once blank
Now full of life
Beauty and grace
The art of one's soul
That came from within.

Your Whisper

You whispered in my ear,
a breathy secret, hushed.

“I love you”, you murmured.

I said nothing,
lost, in your arms,
I found a home. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
I said nothing,
lost in my thoughts,
I found peace. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
words failed me then.

They still do.

The blood you were given

Never throw punches at the rain,
don’t doubt the pain of the sane,
nor the deranged.

Never toss change into a fountain,
and hope for a wish that you haven’t
earned just because you have a
nickel to spare.

Never dream without company,
lies are most easily revealed with
another set of eyes.

Never rise out of bed,
without thinking of the consequences
of getting out of your own head.

Don’t fret about the chaos,
let it flow past your bones
and sizzle at your feet.

You are alive,
now prove it to the world
before you become a memory.

Make sure that you raged,
that you were boundless.

Become not just a memory;
become a living legacy.

This is your story.

Write it in the blood
you were given.

The Unusual Fragrance

The unusual fragrance looms above my room,
Its owner not yet known,
Its purpose still a mystery I assume
Sweeter than any other fragrance I ever own,

Its mood is ataraxia,
Cold soothing scent, texture so smooth,
Like dying in a peaceful euthanasia,
I have it trapped in a booth,

Smells like angels on a spring break,
Dancing gloriously in the water fall,
With a rattling feeling like an earth quake,
Its particles bouncing from wall to wall,

Clogged in my mind is a fog of disconcert,
As I battle my feeling to a perfect stranger,
The feeling of unrest causes discomfort,
As the unusual fragrance puts my heart in danger,

A Chipped Heart

A Chipped Heart...

Dreaming, my heart brittle as glass,
my solitary facade a pitiful farce,

shards tearing out of my skin,
seeking release, from cages within,

I am lost, in the dream,
bellowing out a silent scream,

torn from reality, drowning in the now,
yet I refuse,
I refuse to succumb,

I refuse to bow.

My chipped heart, may be wounded,
wreathed in pain,

still,

I believe, love, truth, belonging,

will take my hand,

again...

Within Me

Within Me

Flowing through the rivulets of my everyday thoughts,
memories of you surface, gasping for air, breathing in,
permeating, absorbed by the pores of my ageing skin.

Famished, greedily gulping mouthfuls of fractured life,
awash in distant yesteryear, when your feathery kisses,
banished the vacuum, dispelling my anguish and strife.

You are eternally carved, and embroidered into my soul,
I wash ashore, smashing against the boulders of the now,
seeking solace, begging for absolution with my empty bowl.

The book of fate is sealed shut, the tea-leaves have been read,
nothing remains within me, the burden of smiling has been shed.

Now I am stranded, between dreams and the empty years ahead,
searching for forgiveness, in the miles I have yet to wearily tread.

Illegitimi non Carborundum

Illegitimi non carborundum ;-)

...Staggering, my vision cloudy,

I fall to the hard ground.

when life’s sharp left-jab leaves my face bloody,

and all that surrounds me, is the desolation of loss I feel all around.

I see myself slipping,

down the abyss to where nothingness exists,

still, I cling on, groping for a foothold,

for my will to stay persists.

I clamber up, I stand my ground, though battered and bruised I may be,

my curtain is not falling yet, I have some fight still left in me.

It is then, in the pit of despair, when all seems bleak and painful and dull,

I summon the strength from deep within,

I rise, slowly, to face the day,

I refuse to sink,

to wallow, to surrender, to throw in the towel,

to drown,

for I am stronger now,

indeed I am, after all the years, and all the battles,

I stand, bruised and bloody,

still,

I stand,

I refuse, to sink, to drown,

for they can try, to punish me some more,

but I shall not allow them to grind me down…

She

She

She smiled, gently,
her warmth infusing me,
with a serene stillness of time.

She settled, slowly,
in my waking thoughts,
a soothing balm of simple joy.

She remains, scribbled,
on the walls of my fractured heart,
memories of happiness that once breathed...

MLK - 1929 - 1968

MLK...
(January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

they shot you down
all those years ago

but

your dream lives on
and always will

for though much has been
gained since you dreamed
your dream

there is much to fight for
and much more to struggle for

and much, much more
to fight for still

so
your dream resounds in
our hearts and we pledge
this to you today
for though they shot you down
all those years ago on a memphis day
we shall overcome
this we do believe
deep in our hearts
that
we shall overcome
someday...

In the Coals

The sky danced a glimmer of setted sun blue
Softly through into the night
Like rafters keeping us safe on our path under heaven
Trees wove themselves over us
Breathing light from coals washed the five gathered faces
Flickered in their eyes and over their bodies
In the quiet I saw

In the south like the waves from beneath the sea
One spirit shone with a shimmering breath
And another in the west settled on the rafters there
With a sighing light barely seen and hardly felt
Amid the rafters of the north one other spirit swayed
There too an ethereal visitor echoed in the east
In the quiet I saw

Faces bright, strong and painted with a wash of . . .
Contentment, save two, both fallen of crest
And still under the watchful eyes of Nokomis high in the skies
One rose to smile holding a light before him closely
But woe fell across the other for being there within already
As if unable to escape for eyes unseeing
In the quiet I saw

I watched a struggle between three spirit cousins
Over and all around they fought where he had fallen
So vicious this fight, it cast a shrouding over everything of him
For these two beasts snarled and slashed for dominance
While the third sat quietly as if waiting or perhaps just watching
With great patience for one to fall and it too was evil
In the quiet I saw

The sky shone softly in the ambient light of stars unglimpsed
For Nokomis with her watching eyes held us
As only grandmothers do for having loved and loved her child’s children too
All through the night she held us as we sailed without a sound
Across and over the blue of setted sun somewhere next to here
With the warmth of coals burning nowhere save inside
In the quiet I saw

In the quiet I saw five souls glimmering
In the quiet I saw a war cross one red road
In the quiet I saw the spirits of four ancestors
In the quiet I saw everything, nothing all that I needed
In the darkness of the madodoswun it is dark as pitch
And still, and yet . . .
Before the door whispered to open
I saw in the quiet still

Unfettered and free, Seeking my ultimate destiny, Flying through a dark, cobalt blue sky, Like an extra light kite, Effortlessly taking flight, With strong wings, like a sleek bird I soar. Friendly, gentle winds propelling me to greater heights, Up, up, up - High above big, billowy, cotton ball clouds, Higher, higher, higher - Rising into the atmosphere, Gliding through the troposphere, Reaching for the stratosphere, Shooting like Halley’s Comet through the mesosphere, Catapulting into the thermosphere, Then with extraordinary speed, like a rocket I exit the exosphere. Moments in time

It’s not a ‘cloud of issues’ to deal with
but a crowd of witnesses that surrounds us;
with different personalities and gifts to offer
remind us that we’re all unique creatures
that God has made across time and space.

Moments in time enable us to change gears,
provoked by situations that bring to reflection;
relationships weave as crucial elements,
to our standards and expectations.

By way of committing to affairs of life,
there’s meaning, home to grace –
and it’s home to God that makes us wonder
his ways are certainly not our ways.

The concept of bitachon takes us on a journey,
like a beautiful sanctuary within is being shared.
in the fullness of life’s experiences speak therefore –
how integral God is in each of our lives.

he makes us whole again, complete in inner dimension;
with peace that embraces all in a right relationship,
truly, a metaphor for the heart of life, a sacrament --
that provides grace and sanctity to be holy.

The God of love speaks and enters our inner sanctuary -
the heart which acts like a third eye in general;
hence, human struggles echo who we are
that define perseverance and faith in the living God.

We have cried enough tears in our lives
with a tremendous amount of optimism;
though as it sometimes seems a mystery, a problem -
that becomes a straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Aimed at transforming our lives into pieces of hope
where love is shared in many forms and shapes;
God dwells at the heart of every human being,
his interconnectedness defines his essence with us.

What a great gift to keep that in our minds,
it is God and us and those around us;
ilustrate a beautiful symmetry, another episode
that sustains us to keep in the race, keep in the game.
With a vivid recall of events in the life passed by,
a way of emphasizing how God keeps us strong
a response to what life is; in moments of time – he’s still there.
one with the Father, and the Father is in him.

As Mark Twain said in one of his many writings,
“it is not what I don’t understand about the Bible
that bothers me.  It is what I do understand!’ He’s everything;
for we are in him, and he is in us; we’re his sons and daughters.

Note;

Bitachon - a Jewish word which means “trust in God,” plays a critical role in jewish thought. Just as a person should strive to observe Mitzvot, he or she should try to develop bitachon, a consciousness that God is actively involved in our lives.

Persona

We all wear a mask
No matter how we shape or mold it
It stays the same way even with a slight change
For the mask is a part of us
Just as we are part of the mask

When we hide a hidden side
Deep within our hearts
It becomes a shadow
Something we try to deny
Something to forget

But it always comes back to haunt us
Trying to engulf us in its darkness
To show others what their really like
As they keep denying it gets stronger
Shifting and molding into something terrifying

The shadow becomes a beast
A monster of our dark side
Because we've denied it
For thinking it isn't a part of us
But it is a part of us
Like we are a part of it

The only way to combat it
Is to accept it as it is
For that shadow is you
You are the shadow
Your persona that is in your heart

Don't be afraid
Just face it
Show no fear
Accept it

The shadow is you
You are the shadow
You wear the mask
Wearing the mark
On your heart

Once you accept it
It becomes a great ally
A powerful persona
Right by your side
Always there to help you
When things get tough

Most important of all
Never forget the friends
That help you through
The hard times you face
For they will help you

They are the light in your darkness
A shining glow at the end of the tunnel
A hand extended out to grab you
If you are to fall
They will be there for you

We must learn to accept ourselves
For who we are
Hiding our other selves
Will just make problems grow

Just be yourself
Be proud of who you are
As you wear the mask
Keeping your head up
With full confidence

Your persona is a special one
Never forget that
It is your ally
Your friend
Your other half

Your shadow
Most of all
Your mask
Its your persona
Be proud of it
As it is proud of you
To accept it as it is

Where Frozen Embers Still Burn

We lose hope,
drowning in dope,
not knowing the strength
deep within our breath.

We carry energy of a thousand suns,
in every, hurt, humiliation, and suspicions
of following the wrong "path",
that could lead to "death."

We wait for time to heal our hearts,
so as to forget all life's hurts,
but the pain becomes too much to handle;
problems become too complex to handle.

The skies we stare for a sign;
an answer to perfectly align
with our desires, only for silence
to return to haunt our conscience.

It is only our attitude that we need to change,
so as to get divine power as our wage!

The Illuminated Muse

The Illuminated Muse
by
Ingrid Showalter Swift

You light up the circuits of my psyche with lexis
vibrate within me
daze me
sway me without weight or measure
I breath in the misted air of salt and gesture
and in it you lie in wait

You fill my cells
with oxygen and mercury
the temperature rises
my bearings drop
my center settle casts away
to an island of green palm breezes
waves of art washing…poetry like walk way stones laid and lead ...before me
and I am the eel in the sea
the elk on the prairie
I am an elephant
tusks and trunk held high to sky
baroque-ing out my demands to the dusted waterless ways of the Serengeti
Rise up in me…as the ground rises before the tectonic hand of God
Rise up in me atomic
Equatorial in clime
Tornatonic in impact
I am ferocious
in my thirst
Run me down with your intent
annihilate all argument
and end the war between us
forever

for you are simply
a blue sapphire flickering in the firelight
Tumbling blue hues in a washer of stone
Flares of luminosity…raking the sky to a plunderous pink
a radiance
like an alien ball in the forest
…illuminati imaginations....
trailing sparklings that follow the fairies into the dark wood

You are warm milk
into which I fall
to the creamy center
float on clouded dark dreams
chewy and sweet
the toffee reminiscence
of….morning coffee…and black birds in flight
and you are the birth of child
in the hands of heaven
you are everything arcane ...nubile and blessed and damned at once
and you alone drive my pen
to wagon wheel and weltings center

Port of Call

Port of Call

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

with the breath of the ocean a caressing balm,
soothing pained memories away,
to the swaying of a solitary palm.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

feeling the brushing away of all past turmoil,
on a quest for solace, ever so hard to find,
yet comforted by the crashing of the waves,
as the tide cleanses all pain,
and leaves despair far, far behind.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

drenched in a sea-breeze of mist,
that hushes the ache of bygone moons,
tasting the salty tang on my lips,
as the burnished sun,
over the distant horizon,
swoons,

and dips.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

searching, ever searching,
for a slice of solitude,
as memory bids a final adieu,
reaching under the sea so vast,
and seeking comfort in the depths,
while embracing,
the tomorrows to come,
wishing that they be true.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

seeing my truths drown,
as they slip beneath the turquoise waters,

feeling my heart ablaze,
with a passion that rarely falters.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

yet knowing that I am home at long last,
wishing the waves would wash away,
the defences that once stood,
like an impregnable wall.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

I have found, at long last,

my final port of call.

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg…

…With sighs of torrential passion,
the heavens shower teardrops,

weeping with me,
as memories of you come cascading back,

skin on skin, ablaze,
moist kisses, fiery,
gentle whispers of undying love, murmured,

in another life, another time,

far removed from my present, a desolate state of despair,
wallowing in the grime.

…

The rain keeps falling,
each teardrop stinging my face,

tasting the salt on my lips,

I wonder, do you still remember the caresses of my fingertips,

between breathy confessions, and vows of eternal love,

before you left me, stranded on an island of solitude,

wounded as a wingless dove,

bereft of life,
stripped of all traces of fortitude

For Bob Dylan

Ramblin' Bob Dylan Blues
(For Bob Dylan)

Why does the sun dry up so many scattered tears

slipping down the coarse cheek of a million hushed fears

where no one is scalded though the searing fog clears

while prayers are mutely spoken even as the end nears

We shatter and scrape on demented knees

Blindly begging for mercy as it silently flees

Searching listlessly for salvation drowned in the breeze

That spits at the soft rose suffocated by a wheeze

I know now what I need never have known

Of hope that was trampled before it had flown

Into a wasted sky filled with hate that could drown

The giggling of the crowd and the crying of the clown

A hope so fragile that its wings were of brittle glass

Ripping the veneer off the sewers of class

Twisting the fabric of the weighed and costed mass

Who numbly waited hoping that it too may pass

For when shards of that hope in all hearts scurries away

To a darkness where crowded night is emptied off the heaving tray

'Tis then when sewn eyes shall behold that doleful day

When all shall tear at each other while on demented knees we still shall pray

For a lifting of the veil of that wilful deceit

That's wrapped up in a flag swollen with conceit

While the limbs splinter in the claw of a winner's defeat

Yet still the drums roll for the ill-fated souls chose never to retreat

From that drenched battle-ground where blood flows through a sieve

And love's lost song plaintively begs for a reprieve

From eternal loss which into raw emotion does cleave

Only to slip through the fingers and like grains of sand, leave.

Road Trip

...Just because the road got a little bumpy,
That didn't mean I was going to pull over,
                 get out,
and sit on the side of the road and give up.
                                            I kept going.
And at the end of the road, there was a dead end sign...
                 but did that stop me?
                           No.
I parked the car,
     got out,
and continued on foot.
Eventually I came to the brink of a huge mountain
and looked up
and thought it was impossible to climb.
           But did that stop me?
                       No.
I tried anyway and started climbing.
Once I got to the top,
I turned around and looked over the mountain
and I could see the smooth road
     that turned into bumpy gravel
that came to a dead end
that came to the bottom of this mountain...
everything that has tried to stop me.
And suddenly, I realized
that I now stood higher...
       above it all...
and now look how little it looks...

District 13 Revolution

Fireworks slide down the back of my tongue

Some went north to imitate stars,

knowing all to well they wouldn’t even make it to the stratosphere

A fire can’t breathe with no air

Ask that man in the alley why he has to shoot black skies into his veins to see them.

You probably have more in common than you might think.

Satellite transmissions making waves like the oceans they cover

Healthy food is expensive, while poison is damn near free!

There is a storm coming

Grab your blankets and I will tell you how it ends with a new beginning.

A Wandering Thought

Alone in the night,

descending the stairs,

I desolate happiness,

out of scars

The scars of past,

and present and future,

And the happiness of a wandering thought

In the broad daylight,

when I fade out

My shallow heart

confines desires…

A blurred vision,

and numb nerves

A wandering loafer soul

And a wandering thought…

I leap mountains,

and walk through the seas

Across the wind,

trimming the fire

I let myself breathe,

and calm down

I surrender my ego

To a wandering thought…

feelin good feelin hot

Eyes to the sand,
         an inch away
wind catches my back
as the seagulls soar,

a saucer through
the blue
diving in and out

trash is blown,
leaving its will to
stay with ground

soar trash soar

as I lay sturdy
with palms

men are becoming women

The tire was flat
Imagine that
What should we do
Call AAA
was all he could say

Afraid to break out a jack
did not want his fingers black
He said "I pay them top dollar"
I was not impressed
He did not know how, I guessed

Where are all the real men
I do not want Barbies Ken
A strong secure man is what I need
That holds me tight in his arms
and sets off alarms

A man that is not PC
Speaks fluently
Not a limp biscuit
Firm handle on my rear
Kisses that get me in gear

The Metaphor I Dream

                    This metaphor breathes
                    when I awaken
                    to a dull, gray morning
and the chill of a draft.
The colors of my dreams stir
                    behind the visions I see
                    while I shower and dress
to face duties of the day.
                    My meditation is of breath,
                    inhalations and exhalations of life
                    from all parts of me
                    and all who I am.
                    I stir to past love
but still a part of me,
                    the gentle, soulful whispers
                    of memory.
I am all who I am,
                    timeless incarnations
                    given another day.

Love's Call to Surrender

Love’s call to surrender within;
Heed Love’s voice to win
     healing in the end
     will not offend.
My blind eyes caution,
Sensing danger often;
Alerting vigilance to what lurks behind in darkness.
But Love’s call offers hardened hearts to soften
     and set the captives free
from what my blind eyes see.

My heart cries out
     with fear and doubt,
“Will Love save from poison darts
     aimed at this heart?”
“Will Love save?
Remove barriers within
     to let Love in?”
The journey begins,
With faith as mustard seed,
When Love’s call I heed.

Slicing An Apple

1.
for the smoothness is gone
only now, do i detect
 stone too cool
for the ends of the fingers.

2.
often my watch
seemed broken unable to keep time
i smile now
for i will never be on time.

 3
i use to watch time
with roman numerals
but know time watches me
so i see myself
walk by backwards.

4.
as words disperse from a old dictionary
the pages
all have the same chapters .
but new characters grow on the branches
as the stars
swim where the leaves
 of knowledge cannot touch.

5.
now is the time
for touching the lips are plump
with temptation
but poems still taste of ink.

6.
fruit with seeds
in the inner chambers
the metaphor that hides inside
that will reproduce
other symbols
as i cut it into segments of slices
for somewhere a teacher waits...

A Hollow Shell

a hollow shell
of tangled synapses
sparked into gradual madness
which drowns out the truths of the day
as the mind reeks of the rotten sad moments
that swirl in the rancid soup of forgotten dreams
dreams that once traced a gentle path of innocence
dreams that reached for pure love’s tender touch
dreams now paralysed but once vivaciously alive
what became of those fresh dreams and hopes
as they lie mustily on dusty bookshelves
torn into shreds by time’s fine scimitar
devoid of the touch of raw passion
when all that remains of love is
a hollow shell

Lights

Lights

They talk about searching for the light,
To look into it and find something new.
We see them when we’re speeding down the highway at 2.AM –
Nowhere to go but in such a hurry to get there.
They speak of finding the light at the end of the tunnel
But do they tell you of what’s after the light?
Is it another journey to find a brighter light,
To make this world all the more uplifting.
Or does it make the world even more torturous;
To all who have glared into this fake mysterious journey.

The metaphor of light isn’t always what it turns out to be.
Happiness and cruelty.
You can choose these by a switch of a light –
From the dream that occurs by the light in your mind
Or the brutality of preventing yourself
From the world that becomes above all more painful.

Hazardous lights cause warning to those afraid of danger,
While others see it as an exit route to another destination.
The light shining from the moon keeping us safe from all around
Can still make its way to the death of those alone on the streets.
The peasants dying on the side of the pavement
Can see themselves in the reflection in the puddle they lie beside;
With the sun shining brightly onto their faces,
Making them wish they were shining
Like those who have seemed to have found their light.
With their last breath it will all disappear-
All hopes and dreams destroyed in a second,
That they thought could come true,
After sixty-two years of living a lie.

The light cannot be complete without the darkness
As for the creation of light there must be a dark.
It prevents itself from becoming weak
By the power of both controlling man,
Leaving them scattered across their land
After searching most their lives for the thing they believed in.

THE RUSH OF EBBING WAVES

back and forth, boxsliding.
tossing and turning on the ocean waves;
the rush of ebbing tides moving,
similar to the unsaved lives of our days,
mixture of emotions gathering,
trying not to get sucked in the undertow,
our own deception that doesn't flow.
trembling in the fear of it's coolness,
the depths so limitless.
it's force unmeasurable,
only fit for the able.
it's nature can not be contained,
but it's characteristics can surely be attained.
soaking in it can acquire you different benefits,
a threat for the flow of living.
tides of waves so chaotic;
in a world so exotic,
the rush to coming back to it is so dramatic.

Walk the Dream, Fan the flame

This facade that we build
around our bones;
this walking dream

Shouldn’t be any different,
than what we keep in the night,
where the stars burn as freely
as our hearts.

I say we stoke the fire,
throw it all in.

Watch the sand turn to glass,
peel the skin back
                    swallow the marrow of promise.

Let the light reflect.

The Tears of the Clown

The Tears of the Clown

A veil of smiles,
worn effortlessly.

Tuning out the blurring din,
alone in the cackling throng,

never hoping to belong,
though pining to fit-in.

Peeling off the thin facade,
feeling the pained charade,
melting into the dim parade.

Trickling effortlessly down,
over the strained contours,

of a spurious laugh,

the tears of the clown,

rehearsed, rehashed,

form an unending cold stream,
dissolving the lingering traces,

of this simple boy's dream

flip me side

will collide

sweep me clean,
cleanse my skin,
cheers to the ocean
for making
me alive

Detour

Road construction ahead. Another pending relationship. Potentially harmless. A fly stuck to the windshield. Its smashed body meaning as much as the life it once had. Just past the corpse the sign comes into view: "Detour" The break up begins. No apologies, no explanations. Just maybe the wind.. it passes, taking no sides. Beyond the sign is a graveyard, holding silence. Holding the hands on a clock. Holding back all but that wind.

JOY...OH, BOY

You lay in the surf waiting for me
Although Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr we could not be.
Trying at love with the incoming tide
Kelp and seaweed stuck to my side.

"Great gods", thought I, as I wrote the rhyme
Use "Adonis" and "Poseidon" from another time.
I'll let love be the center of the poem I write
And show all who read it, my emotional insight.

The pounding of the waters blue
Will be my metaphor of a love so true.
And I'll have to sex it up a bit
For passion plays a big part in it.

I will use "penetration" and words like "breech"
To add to that image of us on the beach.
With the romantic beginning I have said
And to the altar of love that I've been led.

Because I finish with our pledge on the shore
The reader will always want to have more.
So, the green eyed girls will be my poetic night
And close the verse, so crisp and tight.

Note: It took sum lookin' fer me to find,

An Agent of Life

My names symbolize and mean victorious.
I am a soldier of a higher power.
I am one that is here on a direct mission:
To defend the defenseless.
I am a sword.
The sword strikes those who attack the weak.
So that the attackers feel the wrath given to me,
And understand that I treat them as they treat others.
So that the weak know,
They are never alone in this fight.
I am a shield.
The shield defends and respects.
It respects that all are human,
I am wisdom.
I step back and watch the skirmishes of life,
I review them rationally,
So that when I join a battle,
I know, I am on the right side.
There is a higher power.
It inspires me to act.
But It is kinder than I.
It would forgive where I would strike back.
But I will fight anyways,
For it is my duty to fight other battles.
Life is a fight,
But I…
I am a sword.
I am a shield.
I am wisdom.
I am…
Victory!

LEAN ON

when we're tired and weary,
lean on Him.
so much that we have to do,
our journey must still go on.
lifting up each other,
trying to help as much as the other.
humility as a character:
begins to make us better,
helping us to be stronger,
toward a living testimony of support,
leaning with a purpose,
shared in our goals,
made truer in His plans.
throughout He has loved us and cared;
even, though there's miles to go,
we have each other's shoulders to rest on.

In Between

There’s a moment when, crossing between two streetlamps, a double shadow appears,
arching from your fears, a body projected through years onto cracked concrete.
So, stopping, you watch it split in separate directions, no fixed perfections,
all later corrections point from now dividing as forces pull one into two,
coloured red or blue at different ends of the spectrum, matter is best left some space,
life isn’t a race in the traditional sense, but against the perception of yourself.
Worrying is bad for your health, because as much as television may scream in your ear,
grinding each individual gear, you need not wealth,
but a hand to pick you up and dust you off when you fall,
no problem at all, giving pats on the back, setting the wheels back on the track,
in motion again you walk on from staring at your shadow, standing won’t help you grow.
And I know it says not to walk towards the light, but this time it’s alright,
because looking back won’t help either. As a fighter, neither Rocky nor Rambo,
you face the night ahead, spit to clear your mouth of lead, and strut on son,
because you are only born once, and you only die once,
but it’s what you do between the two that makes you awesome.

The Tithe, and The wills, And the lists

Guilty party Alcohol companies
and those responsible for that product being targeted
to the youth
put my name
in your will

I don't care if you make it a metaphor for a prayer
in the amounts that you leave me
and the message you leave me
with the way you care to swallow your footsteps
you've left behind

Cigarette companies
and those who advertise for them
put my name in your will
find it for a way
make it an amends
to the past present and future
I will find a way with your amounts given to me
to swallow you down
to choke you out
from beyond the grave

Porn companies
porn stars
all those who think
I don't have a black file
and i'm just some ghetto wizard
and maybe a gullible god
put my name in your will
pay off your debt
how you have tarnished
tainted mankind's image

All those building weapons of mass destruction
welcome to Gabrielles dance
joining those greedy people going to hell
And this is also for those with the power to send people to war
wether you crawled for me or not
put my name in your will
find a message for me to carry out
with your money
to choke you out
to tear you out of reality
with your money
you will leave me a better way

This is the list
This is my tithe, pay it well
don't think i don't have a list
and be ready to buy yourself a few more cycles under the stars
Light in the darkness
may hunt you down
poisoning the well
you don't see the righteous wolf in sheep's clothing
nailing martyrs to the past
i have the list
you pay the tithe
and we'll see your historical wills!

Let's not leave out
those making drug abuse seem good
put my name
in your will
and a metaphor for a prayer
to tear your shadow into holes
all you thugs and druglords
who think theyve escaped the lists
thats my biggest trick
put my name in your will
pay my tithe
swallow this omen
to set the future right
put my name in your will

I might claim some of your hard earned dreams
you've stolen from the innocent
of radiostations and entertainment
I might claim a method to the madness
of counterintelligence
I just might one day be the name used
when someone is stalking you

You whisper my name
you say my name
put my name in your will
make your amends in your death
you threw everything
and everybody away in your life
one way or another
someone gets the last laugh

wether your soul gets revenge
or you question mine
You are a name a number
a disguise configured
found and discovered on satelite
and I'm ready to pull the rug under your feet
I'm about to pull the wool off the wolf

The dam

I spent too long in the sand,
The day has ran
I am a dam
The waters run cold,
And that is bad

Turn around and grab

Because the air of the wind isn’t fun

Teeter totter with the band
Let um go laugh…

Take a polygraph,
Ask Yourself
How sad are the sad?

Then wake up to a face
She is your great big taste

Because,
the world renowned isn’t insane
It’s just over due
And unclaimed

It's a jaded complaint

An outdated fade

In the neighborhood like a plague

Out dated like the fade

Illusions of Dreams

They say that life
is a metaphor of the spirit
and that time is a construct
that we all believe in,
as the world we perceive in.
Chance, circumstance
is the dance we play
on the first stage of destiny
where history
reforms itself to our liking
spiking the elixir of youth
with truth.
Matter meets form
in the dark spaces between
where fate is seen
as a well marked trail of tears
denoting the hopes and fears
of the ancestors making.
The past
is forever taking
from the now.
What we allow
becomes achievable
believable
a transformation
of creation
for all our relation
shapeshifting
sand sifting
uplifting
future gifting
an open door....
we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

We can live the illusion
or we live the dream.

If
this poem describes
you...

If

originality
If
it provokes
invokes-
makes you think
take stock
don't be shocked
Put on the poem
it's yours
It's probably

An 02h00 Scribble

a 2:00 AM scribble...

'twas but a lifetime ago
when she floated as if in a dream

when the whistling winds
called out her name

while the truth was revealed
of her love supreme

she walked into the barren landscape of my world

and carved-up an exclusive place

excising the pain as the standard of love fluttered in the breeze once it was unfurled

she walked into the solitary vacuum of a heart rendered mute

instilling in that heart a passion that became impossible to refute

a passion blazing with renewed belief

with solitude consigned to the shadows

and despair shunned into the night like an scurrying thief

her touch was gentle, her manner warm and light

her love an endless sea of possibility

washing up against the shores of my moonless night

and when that burst of colour came through

like a dozen rainbows in the monsoon twilight

her face like a revelation shone

as I silently, in awe, gazed at that miraculous sight

and though a lifetime ago it seems

she regularly dances between the cotton-wool clouds of my dreams

and she infuses my each and evey moment with a love so strong

that effortlessly soothes me knowing that I belong

in the haven of her warm embrace

as I gaze lovingly
at her wondrous face

and into those eyes that pull me closer into the ocean of desire

while my spirit soars up into the heavens, ever so higher

it takes but a moment with her to know

that these feelings shall prevail

for they diminish not, as they continually grow

spawning a paradisical garden of emotion and love

and being entwined in her arms seems like a gift from above

for here is where I always hope to be

anchored safely by her side, and not adrift in the emptiness of the vast lonesome sea

so allow me to thank thee
for the lifeline you cast as I lay drowning in thought

and for being the treasure trove of love that I have always sought

so stay well, sweet one
and remember me once or twice in a moon of blue

and know forever that these scribbled words

are deeply felt and forever shall be, eternally true...

SSRI's and I

SSRI's and I ...

... the sounds of thoughts clattering, my neurones sparking,
like Dylan said, my morning recedes jingling and a-jangling,

worn down by this leaden knot, tearing my insides out,
the cacophony drowned in a whisper, lost in a silent shout,

dreams and screams scratching the back of my dry throat,
caged in, liberation hovering like a mirage beyond the moat.

I claw my way, slowly, through a thicket of solitude,
feeling my emotions peeling, stung by unseen nettles,

crawling to an open field, to rest, beneath a sky ablaze with stars,
as my mind glides, brushing the soft grass as it peacefully settles ...

Laurel

I am victory.
I wonder: present, not past or future.
I hear, sunset… and sunrise!
I see with your eyes, with eyes unclouded.
I want: helping, love.
I am smart. I am strong.

I pretend … it’s alright though.
I feel: happiness, brokenness.
I touch the hearts, the spirits.
I worry, does it help, what I do?
I cry, loneliness.
I am done with losing, on with choosing.

I understand: alone, as in, unique.
I believe: it’s alright!
I hope: family united – kindred-ness.
I dream, conquering suffering.
I try, NO… I do!
I am the coolest girl in the whole wide world!
I am – me!

The Deluge

The Deluge.

finally the deluge

skipping in rhythmic heartbeats
the softly sprinkling rain

hums and lulls and cajoles and comforts
the weary evening

glistening leaves
on beaming trees

blades of grass shimmer
like rough diamonds strewn about

and settling in my heart
is the softly lilting touch
of peace
of truth

of the rain clearing away
the debris of this passing day

Night

night falls
wounded by the days' plight

night consumes
all the hopeful fractured splinters of light

night recedes
into its desolate lair

night extinguishes
the roaring furnace of despair

night hides
from a bubbling desire reaching out to feel

night flees
leaving the jilted to bow down and kneel

night soars
breaking the chains of isolation

night rots
in the cellars of time's vacuum of desolation

night devours
the travails of the day that has past

night mends
the wounds that once were doomed to last

night returns
faithfully as the day must retire

night settles
the doomed voices that mutter and conspire
night consoles
the weary mind and the restless heart so torn
night placates
knowing that night itself is darkest just before a new dawn

so

night freezes
all snapshots of the passing day

as

night embraces
the new while the old simply fades away

Non-recyclables

I tried to hold my breath,
lacing plastic together with curdled finesse.
Days of remnants rolled around in a heap
and awaited it’s pallbearer. One final destination.
A graveyard necessary for human greed.
I guess everything has an expiration date.
We find these things, and love them
desperately until they die.
Enjoy it’s taste or fiddle with its edges.
We soak ourselves in their worth,
and hope it settles in our stomachs.
We need to know it’s money well spent.
We have to make ourselves believe that
we won’t end up alongside everything we’ve bought.
Like we’re something greater.
And yet, we will still rot under the same dirt
that we place the husks of our misguided and fickle creations beneath.
Burn me when I die,
I want to fly on the wind
and escape the sin that I’ve been living in.
I want to visit the trees and breath new air.
I want to be better than I’ve been.

Eucharist - in its spiritual realm

Along with Jesus' discourse as the Bread of Life,
bears a powerful meaning of his divinity.
It's a metaphor with spiritual truth,
that identifies himself as food for our souls.

As a sign of his broken body and his shed blood;
the inner call reflects to abide in him.
We partake of the meal, a sacred meal,
to make us one with him, abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ.

What an experience of joy to receive him!
with a great deal of gratitude and reflection.
It's a spiritual fulfillment, a source of strength
that enables one to sustain his life amid struggles.

The Eucharist we celebrate each day
draws us to believe that there's hope.
As a spiritual food that makes us grow,
we're hopeful to embrace life and start anew.

Vacuum

Callously discarding,

talismans of heart and soul,

hastily scorching all bridges,

in a supernova burying me whole,

retreating into emptiness,

no salvation to be found,

sins too many to absolve,

drowning, in a freshly
dug hole in the cold ground.

Hollow, empty, barren desolation closes in,

asphyxiating me,

within the walls of my dismal room,

sinking into the abyss,

disappearing, fading, lost forever,

inside an emotionless,

vacuum

The New Lamp

for years left to stand in a corner
half hidden behind the broad bookcase
their heritage of a deceased friend
his precious Kodak-camera base

on her first leisure time since a year
she bought a brown lampshade at a rummage sale
matching colors with their tripod 's wooden poles
she saw the light feeling like a fairy in new tale

she knew they really could do
with a little more domestic brightness
in their precious spacious living room
and inspired for a new era of lightness

she brought all the necessary parts home
as always he knew instantly what to do
building immediately their new reading dome
both share their new precious bright homely view

We Shall Always be Many More

We Shall Always be Many More
(For the dispossessed of this world)

we shall always be many more
we who roast in your designer factories
our brows dripping with our salty sweat
we who may forgive but shall never forget

we shall always be many more
we who reek of cheap moonshine
we who stagger and often stumble
we whose stomachs never cease to rumble

we shall always be many more
we who polish your fine bone china
we whose pay gets docked if one cup is chipped
we who fight your wars, and off to battle get shipped

we shall always be many more
we who clean up after your pretty children
we whose kids are hungry, naked and get swept
into the bowels of desolation, as mothers’ tears are wept

we shall always be many more
we who do your dirty work each day
we who you treat like vermin, foul and rotten
we whose trampled dignity is always forgotten

we shall always be many more
we who will rise up and seize the light of hope
and reclaim what is ours for our daughters and sons
though we will always be in the cross-hairs of your guns

we shall always be many more
and there shall be many more of us still to come
to rid you of your smug arrogance and endless greed
for we too have children whom we have to feed

we shall always be many more
‘and the meek shall inherit the earth’
or something like that though we no longer care
for we shall rise up one day to demand our rightful share

we shall always be many more...
