Texas Wildflower Haiku : Widow's Tears

sun’s heat sunders sand
clustered lanced leaves green hug
widow’s tears collapse

Widow’s Tears is the common name for Commelina erecta var. angustifolia, they bloom on
Texas beaches in sand or clay, and have the characteristic of flowering early in the morning
and fading by noon. The bloom in all seasons but I chose spring to be more commonly
approachable. [1]

A Farmer's Tale

pale silken strands sway
tickling the warm breezy air
honey wheat wands dance

nourishing life on the farm
drought came and all died

raindrops on paper

soul fills up,
overflows...
rain streaks down my cheeks

brightness blinds my world
darkness cloaks and chokes me up...
heaven's tears soothe me

angry skies flash teeth
wind wailing its frustrations--
drenching rain drowns soul

black and red rain
hateful words, scorching wrath boils
daggers on paper

each word stings eyes, heart
pen takes a stab, then twists hard
raindrops on paper

Haikus to Iran

In Iran they march
"Where" they ask "is my vote gone?"
Answered by truncheon

God, Allah, they call
In His name, holy, oppress
Gods weakest children

Other news shall show
Western television screens
But we wont forget

Hundreds dead now
We only know one name, one face
A prayer for them say
