I'm Very Thankful

I’m Very Thankful!

I’m very thankful for everything the Lord has made...
Everything he’s created… His beauty is displayed!

I’m very thankful for the breath I have to breathe…
Until that one day, from this earth, I shall leave.

I’m very thankful for the way God has made so evident.
The principles of his word… Are so relevant!

I’m very thankful for the beauty and glory he’s shown…
It has brought blessings and healing to my home!

I’m very thankful for the many things he’s done for me…
He’s given me his love which flows abundantly!

I’m very thankful that each day,.. Is another to live for him…
He’s taken away my pain and has forgiven every sin.

I’m very thankful that I can write
 these words from my heart.
I know that he’s with me. And he’ll never depart!

I’m very thankful that you’re reading
 what I’ve been saying…
May this cause you to once again start praying!

I pray that this same Jesus I know…
 Who’s merciful and kind…
Will speak words of hope to you
and give you a peace of mind.

I pray that before you go to bed and this day has ended.
You’ll allow Christ to have your heart “amended.”

Thank you Lord! For what you’ve
done and are going to do…
It’s another way that I can say
 “I LOVE YOU!”

Thank you Lord! For all that I‘ve
received and so much more…
You’ve made my life complete…
And are worth living for!

Lonely Dreams

I never knew following dreams could be this lonely,
But up on the hill, looking back, thank God I'm not the old me.
If the tears will fall, let them be;
I believe this is God's plan, follow your dreams.

OUR MANY BLESSINGS

OUR MANY BLESSINGS
By the Poets Listed in the first comment

Life is full of wonderment and blessings well received.
The greatest gift, so well conceived, the freedom to believe.
Thanking God that in this glorious world He perceived.
There, stands today beauty and grandeur that awed we can achieve.
Our ancestors, many moons ago, the motherland did flee.
Enriching lives, harvest, and family in this land of milk and honey.
Gratitude after we gathered the fruits of our great labors.
Holding hands with love we pray with family, friends, and neighbors.
Thankfulness for waking to feel warm sun on our face, all hail.
The wind's breeze, melodies in green trees from sweet nightingales,
You cast off my chains; you set me free, through true eyes, now I see.
Each dawn I give thanks I am free! Thank you, Lord from the real me.
Thank you for my mind and heart and trusting me from the start.
For the sun, the moon, the stars, and all your creatures who take part.
Also for things in me once damaged, now mending a new start.
To live this life, day to day, with the minimum of fuss-
We believe in many things, that the joys of life bring us.
From majestic mountains, to the tiniest of bugs,
Wondrous bountiful God, created these for poetry.
I am sending GOOD energy, to my friends, and hugs.
My thanks are carried on waves over the November seas.
To friends from afar who grace my life with comfort and ease.
One unending relationship with God and His wonderful love...
Four sons, the gifts given to me from Heaven high above,
I am so thankful to be gifted with so many different things.
And being healthy under loving angel's caring wings
One great blessing: I begin to see the world was more than me.
Methodical. Prodigal. More logical, I found the great light love.
Within our thankful hearts today, a prayer is softly said,
Blessing all who join with us as we eat and share our bread.
Our lives are enriched by family and friends that we love.
With grateful hearts, we thank our generous Father above.
The wonders of your world, Lord, Earthbound and on the wing,
Our hearts are filled with happiness for every blessed thing.
So, thank you, Lord for everything that upon us you bestowed.
Especially for your love dear, Lord that bountifully has flowed.
                                                                               Amen

Michael's Blessed Birthday (Kyrielle Sonnet)

Have a blessed birthday Michael J Today I knelt for you to pray May His guiding light shine on you God’s grace I pray will bring you through May you have strength on your birthday With family this holiday Celebrating with faith like new God’s grace I pray will bring you through As your son returns home today Like a rainbow brightens the day Continue to wear a smile too God’s grace I pray will bring you through Have a blessed birthday Michael J God’s grace I pray will bring you through © Joseph, 11/20/07 © All Rights Reserved Hello Michael, have a blessed birthday and Thanksgiving holiday with your brave son and family. May God bless each of you always and as a family! The Kyrielle Sonnet is a French form from the Middle Ages. It has 14 lines (three rhyming quatrains and a non-rhyming couplet). It has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain in the last line of each stanza. Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet has eight syllables. There are times when a French poem links back to the poem’s beginning; therefore, a common practice is to combine the first line of the first quatrain and the refrain in each quatrain as the ending couplet for the poem.

Thanksgiving Day ...Acrostic

T Though, it officially comes just once a year,
H Halleluejah! We should be thankful year long.
A Allowing others to gather near,
N not just for one day and then be gone.
K Keeping love within our hearts,
S sending our prayers of thanks, daily to God above.
G Graciously sharing our bounty in part,
I inviting the homeless and little lost doves.
V Vast, should be our generosity,
I instead of ignoring, so deliberate.
N Nothing else helps your soul to feel, so completely.
G Giving a helping hand and hope, to those less fortunate.

D Don't be fooled into thinking, you can't make a difference.
A As you sit down with a few family and friends,
Y you could have been some ones deliverance

Let's Praise the Lord

Let’s praise the Lord!
All you people of the land!
Let’s praise him with every
Instrument we have on hand!

Let’s shout praises to his
wonderful name!
A message of rejoicing,
we need to proclaim!

Let’s come before him,
with love from our hearts!
This is where a victorious
life really starts!

Let’s bring him our thanks
and appreciation!
And sing of his tender mercy
and wondrous salvation!

Let’s bring him a heart filled
With hope and cheer!
The coming of the lord,
is so very near!

We bless the father, the spirit
and son!
Through the blood of Jesus,
we have overcome!

A Prayer For Strength To Be Yourself

It's hard doing something different.
It's difficult staying yourself.
In a world so accustomed to conformity,
It feels nearly impossible to be unique
As the one He created you to be.
How do we find the strength?
How do we find the courage?
How do we find the bravery?
Where do we defeat fear?
Well, He's hanging on The Cross
Giving life to you and me.
Thank You Jesus!
Let us not forget
With Christ,
Nothing is impossible,
For with God,
All things are possible!
Thank You Father!
Thank You!
We give our lives to You!
We are Yours!
Praise You forever
And forevermore!
In Jesus' Name,
We pray,
Amen!

The Wisdom of a Simple Man

I remember eating dinner in the glow of the burning lamps.
We all dipped our bread into a common bowl of oil.
A little bread, a little cheese, some salt, an apple, a little wine.
But for the salt all the fruits of our own labors. And Gods.
The enjoyment of fellowship and family at table and fireside.
Laughter and the soft sounds of evening chores and talk.
Discussing the work to be done tomorrow and next week.
Telling the old tales, the good ones, and the family stories.
Children learn who they are from this and will remember.
Maybe a song or two, all voices raised, some sweet, some not.
Childrens prayers before bed, every night, from this comes faith.
A cuddle and a kiss with your wife, to let her know she's beautiful.
A snuggle with her beneath the warm blankets, face on a cool pillow,
And a whispered prayer of thanksgiving before sleep takes you.
God gave every man a brain, two hands and a heart.
With these tools we can build all of these things.
With all of these gifts, who needs more?

Thanksgiving's Substance

“Thanksgiving’s Substance” (Internal rhyme)

T-hanks my soul for everlasting life, I am freed from mind’s strife,
H-eavenly Godly material, Love’s faith ethereal,
A-ngels appear as human flowers, they are of God’s powers
N-ever a thanksgiving cheer, without paranormal is clear,
K-ingships of which no strong winds, torments mustered of strife thus ends,
S-aving grace is thus evenly spaced, of Love’s happiness face,
G-iving honor not receiving, Love’s faith is in believing,
I-n core of a Godly being, is consciousness of seeing,
G-iving I am offering thanks, from love’s river of life’s banks,
I-n giving blessed gratitude, I shall give in multitude,
N-o more of storm clouds shall arise, as the illusion subsides,
G-od’s gift given all of Himself, reception is all that is left!

D-ocile of love’s complete bliss, by the Master Wisdom’s sweet kiss,
A-re illusions of prehensile self, as carnal mind I shelf,
Y-es, thanksgivings complete, as my new persona love I greet!

My Future Generation

I can act insane
But DO NOT
Make me feel worthless

I belong in God’s family
He will bless my future generation

Don’t punish me for
Being myself –
Don’t envy my glee

I can act like an
Adult, but I’d
Prefer to have joy…

Not stress…
That piles upon us in our
Everyday lives

Being childlike is

A rare beauty –

No one prizes it…

No one came across it…

In this lifetime…

I can laugh all day
I can make you smile
If you’d accept my
Childlike dreams of mine
Don’t treat me like a sick swine

Renew my young heart
Give me the ability
To kill the old man…

I have my place in God’s family
He’ll be adored and glorified
We’ll exchange prayers and hugs
By my future generation

I beg of you –
Don’t kill my childlike mentality
I’ll behave myself…
I’m positively sure that I’ll make you happy

I’ll still have pieces of a child in me

And pass it on to my future generation…

Work

Work.
Toil.
The pain I put in the ground.
For such a precious thing.
Corn.
The family enjoys their meal.
They plant their leftover kernels.
And wait for me to tend to them.
Work.
An endless cycle in which happiness is born.

This Thanksgiving Day

This Thanksgiving Day... During this time known as Thanksgiving Day. I hope you'll give thanks and pray. A prayer of thanks for everything God has given. He has blessed us in the way we've been livin'! Our country is blessed like no other. God has supplied our "bread and butter." He's given us the freedom, we've all enjoyed. Be thankful for your food, home and being employed. For those who've endured hardship... Thank God too! It's no secret how much he loves YOU! We find in the Bible... God clearly said; "I've never seen the righteous forsaken, Nor their children begging for bread." Thanks be to Jesus, for his love, mercy and grace. And for making my heart, "his special place." I am blessed and thankful to Jesus indeed. He's given me salvation and supplies my every need. I thank God for this special day in November. Thanksgiving is a day... I will always remember! Thanksgiving

Talk turkey; talk turkey
It's Thanksgiving day.
Fill up your mouths
the Thanksgiving way.

Gobble down; gobble down
meat and red berries.
Some adding gravy
for flavour that varies.

White mashed potatoes
hollowed in boats.
Filled with yellow butter
that warms 'till it floats.

Turnip and parsnip
mixed in together.
Tangy mild flavour
that lasts forever.

Green tiny peas
piled on the side;
covered in butter
in tears they have cried.

All for the price of a prayer
to say thanks
and gathering our friends
in a place that is nice.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jesus, Please Take Over Me

You've fallen down again;
How can you let darkness win?
You just scraped your knee,
You didn't break your leg.
It will all be okay;
I will give you strength.
Brush it off, my child;
Come and take my hand.
Let me help you up again;
You will be okay.
I have always been with you,
And I always will be.
I am by your side,
But this time,
Will you allow me to take the lead?

My Picture Frame

MY PICTURE FRAME

In my picture frame, I count nine
Standing neatly in a row
Two are hers and two are mine
And that accounts for four

Two others are a lady and me
Two pastors make it eight
And that is all that there should be
I count nine – but wait

The ninth one is Christ Jesus
A reflection from His picture on the wall
It's as if He's there to bless us
As we answer to His call

We are there to join two families
So they all shall be as one
And live together in close harmony
After all is said and done

That was eighteen years ago
We're so glad Christ Jesus came
To join us all together
And be in my picture frame

	Curtis Moorman
	24 November 2011

This is a picture of my wedding day 18 years ago when two families were joined
together in the sight of our Heavenly Father to become one family with Him as
the focal point. That union is still intact today with five (soon to be six) additions.
Writing this poem on Thanksgiving day gives me great pleasure as I give Thanks
and Praise to the One who made it possible.

Rowdy Racecar

ZOOOOOOOMING speedily…
Tires squeaking from exhaust… high in volume
Racecar spews out smoke…
Blinding the eyes of a thousand fans

Blooming havoc…
Explosions avalanche downwards
Racecar drives fast and furiously
Awesome feelings launch through me
Projecting panic and twisted bliss

Catching the audience’s full attention…
Tension between challengers increase
Who could stand in their way… not even the coaches
Racecar screeches on the racing street…
Ain’t this competition neat? Come! Take a seat!
This event is brilliant – it’s such a treat!

Producing thrill or disappointment…
Car organs, fragments, shards, remains, limbs, veins
Spurts out in flames… flying at every possible direction
Countless racecars… barely functions – this scene is extremely horrendous!

Yet, the victories are gracious!
Vibrant applauses and thanksgiving triggers enlightening cheer
Have no fear!!!
The moment is ever so precious!

Racecar…you make so much racket and suspense!
Rowdiness is in your nature…who will pay the expense??

Once Again With Words Unspoken

Looking up through the trees
Above the canopy of stars
I see you, with my heart’s eye
Beautifully dressed in heavenly refinement
Perched delicately on a soft, fluffy cloud
I hear you, with my heart’s ear
Singing and rejoicing with psalms of joy
Surrounded by a glorious chorus of angels

Looking down through the stars
You see me, looking up at you
You smile a knowing smile
Sending a gentle wind to caress my face
Drying the tears streaming down unnoticed
You reach out a knowing hand
Mending the heart that feels lost and broken
Filling the empty spaces with peace once again

Looking up through the trees
Above the canopy of stars
I speak to you, with my heart’s voice
Thanking you once again for always knowing
For always seeing the need without a word spoken
I sing to you, with my heart’s voice
Songs of praise and thanksgiving for all that you done
Faithfully knowing, this and more, you will continue to do

Melancholy Mood, Last Less

Those pitiless days ’re enough to puzzle the compassionate mind.
A phenomenal gesture, soon sued to have downplayed the legit,
That even the impartial impact was bandit with words.
Not so funny ’re those days
That devils 're clad in bigotry .
And soon ready enough
To poison soups
Meant for the entourage.
Pitiful quill perhaps has taken over this weakening wit.
Now struggles continue.
Exclusive parcels to all the greenery gestures.
Your compassionate touch is well noted
And well felt.
Thank you so much for the deliverance.

Jesus Has Given All That I Need

Jesus Has Given All That I Need!

Jesus has given all that I need!
An abundance of life, he’s give to me!

He’s given true love and so much more!
He truly is what life is really meant for!

He’s come that I may be totally forgiven!
And has blessed the way I’m livin’!

He’s brought an overflowing joy and love!
And blessed our home, from heaven above!

He’s given to me a heart filled with singing!
And overflowed my heart with thanksgiving!

He’s come and bound our hearts together!
And promised to be with us! Now and forever!

He offers all of this! The choice has been made!
I’ve certainly received
 the best of the trade!

I praise you my Lord! I am so very blessed!
You took my sinful life, and gave your best!

You’ve fulfilled my life beyond any desire!
I’ll tell others of you and lift your name higher!

Thank you my Lord! I’m honored to know you!
I say all of this, because
of how much I love you!

My Prayer

Dear kind and loving Heavenly Father. Humbly I bow my head before you and thank you for all the love and mercies you have shown me. Thank you for giving me a roof over my head and groceries in my cupboards. Thank you for those you have given me. All my family and friends and also those who take care of my soul by feeding it every Sunday and pray for me every day, especially when I am week and sick. I feel your love through them and the powers of their prayers. I know I am not always worthy of your grace but because your son gave his life I rejoice that I have the chance to try and be a better person. Over and over you have forgiven me and I pray you help make me worthy. Help those who are week and lost, let them know and feel your love for nothing can give us more strength and peace then when we are under your wings. Hear the cries from those who are suffering. Please be gracious to them and end their suffering. Father I can never thank you enough for you answering my prayers in the last while. The doctors are amazed how well I have bounced back and I know it's from so many prayers from so many. I will never doubt again the power of prayer and thank you for letting me experience such joy. I pray all this in Jesus name Amen.

Be Thankful for A Teacher

This is dedicated to the P-12 teachers that do hard all day every day who go beyond the call
of duty to innovate and educate we get a lot put on our plate and still pour out much love all
because we are annointed and appointed to teach from the best teacher the Creator from
above. Enjoy your break. Give yourself a date. I know your pain. Give thanks in Jesus's
name. That we have strength of Him to lead a class, carry on multiple tasks, exemplify love,
share knowledge,be a witness and serve the community.Parents be thankful for the teacher
this holiday. Please to your child don't say I wish you had a school day. Give the good
teachers a break because the bad ones could care less about giving their best on anyday.
Teaching is not money its about sowing a seed to have a grand future harvest. Be thankful
this Thanksgiving for a teacher indeed.

Prime Mover

Like the seraphs whose wings unfold,
Christ's light and glory goes not untold;
as the love of his humble grace
moves inside me all time and space,

as the planets orbit heaven's sun
and encircle it one by one--
so, too, am I caught in his sway,
beloved of him from day to day.

Through hosts of astral dimension
God's angels fix their attention
with expectancy and burning pause
amidst the universe's First Cause.

He, the one true Incarnation
that begets cosmic causation,
resolves the Infinite Regress
from the pre-Socratics' egress

with his omniscient wisdom
and the archives of his kingdom
where all can come and read and know
what miracles he'll yet bestow.

Dear God: I Can Never Thank-you Enough...

Dear God: I Can Never Thank-You Enough...

Life is Challenging for most Our Days,
We Focus only On our Struggles – Don’t We?
Well Today I Endeavour to Thank-you for Your Ways,
I Hope this will Inspire Others to Join Me !

Oh Give Thanks for the Gift of the Poetry Line,
The Invention of the Ball Point Pen to Create,
Abilities to Share these Heart-felt Thoughts of Mine,
Oh May these Thoughts in my Fellow Man Stimulate.

Creation Alone is Enough for Us to Magnify your Fame,
Stars at Night in all Their Glory with Shapes to Delight,
Flowers I am Thankful for with Unique Beauty of which I cannot Name,
Mountains so High and Valleys so Low everything in Balance just Right.

How about my Vision the Ability to See Alone such a Wonder,
Or with Ears to Hear Rushing Water and Birds Singing,
My Nose to Smell ALL the Treats so Many Kitchens have to Ponder,
Easter Christmas Thanksgiving to Name a Few Good Tidings Bringing.

How do you Write and Finish a Poem of Thankfulness at All ?
With a Mind so Simple Finite and Common Such as Mine…
The Answer is We Don’t this is a Beginning to an Eternal Wall,
Oh God I am So Sorry that I Rarely Ever Give You Time !

Written by William Arthur Tell

Lu 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and
your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto
the unthankful and to the evil.

Thank You God

You are so great God
How can I ever thank you
For all that you have given?
You have given me so much God
So much
More than I have asked for
Or think of
You did not have to do it
But you gave
And I will never forget that God
You are so kind
So very kind
I could never thank You enough
You have made my world a one of a kind
And you have changed me
So much
You are One and only One
Bless you God
Thank You
Love you

THANKSGIVING

In the oven And a turkey to devour All love ones from all over the world Are dearly remembered in our hearts and minds. One single reason that I would know Is hurdling all the hardships Though what dealt into my hands are short Only God let graced and blessed. You and I must join All together pray, THANK HIM He knows when the foundations Are made from hard bricks and stones. When at first there were annoyance All the stumbling blocks are a nuisance It will never block aspirations To a better, blessed unending tomorrow. Thanksgiving we give it all Yes, the fruits must come into dining And the grandkid’s noise and laughter are music And their embraces are priceless gifts A hundred times this thanksgiving My heart knelt to you dear Lord.

My sinister fits

Out of many days of my disturbed life
This year twenty thirteen is a blessing
I have ever seen -a satisfied wish.
I am now free from often fits for life.

In the previous years, I have prayed from
The ruding consciousness and wield disease.
Morning to night fever; morning and night fit:
A half of my age in the midst of storm.

If it is headache, I would say 'normal',
But it is abrupt migraine. When it strikes,
It can make the patient seems like a liar
Before those that know when he is normal.

This migraine is not the usual fair ache,
It's one outlandish momentary freeze-
Freezing brain, closing sight and freezing quill.
'Unorthodox! Isn't it?' was my ache.

By faith we can kiss the feet that wore the shoes that the latches we are unworthy to loose leave our burdens with thanksgiving sweetly cry ~By faith we can reach up to the nail scarred hands that led the blind man out of town in the way keep looking up to the eyes that wipe away all tears ~By faith receiving His love with and without fears it is written love Him He will lead in the most excellent way living to die dying to live it is by His strength we stand ~By faith we can lean upon Jesus' bosom with listening ears hearing the heart beat of God the small voice saying the Love of God shall never die ~By faith waiting for the horses they fly Lord Jesus the one leadeth with staff and rod the fruitful bow that forever blossom's ~By faith as Jesus heals the blind man looking at His face the blind man looking around saw every man clearly Love is of God we must not from their lovely faces hide ~By love our brothers and sisters we have seen so dearly the brother we have seen on the street stumbling by the knowledge of His saving grace for whom Our saviour died ~By grace of the Lord Jesus in the morrows by and by be that pure and perfect lovely Bride "Who is my mother, or brethren." Thanksgiving

"Give thanks for unknown blessings already on
their way" - Native American Saying.

Give thanks for the rain that showers on you,
and makes crops to grow.

Give thanks for the Sun that warms your face,
and makes you to embrace each day.

Give thanks for night,
because we are able to gaze at the starry sky with awe.

Give thanks for the birds,
as they make you to crave to soar.

Give thanks for the rivers and lakes that provide
us with fish and water to drink.

Give thanks for the flowers and butterflies,
that decorate our lives with beauty.

Give thanks for the trees that give us a shade and shelter.

Give thanks for our ancestors, who left us guides on how
to return to the Chief Spirit, and live in harmony with two-legged,
four-legged, crawling and swimming animals; we too are able to be united.

Give thanks for other good things that you haven't yet seen.....

The Passing of Time

THE PASSING OF TIME

It was a warm April day, early in Spring
My mind sharply aware of everything
I heard the buzz of a bee on new spring flowers
I heard birds chirping – I listened for hours

I heard the whine of a small plane in the blue
And thought, for a moment, I'd like to fly too
As my thoughts soar along on this beautiful day
I blinked, only once, and then it was May

I marveled at this and knew only too soon
That in the twinkling of an eye, it would be June
How quickly time flies when we look at events
We wonder and ponder just where the time went

There suddenly seems to be a chill in the air
The leaves have fallen – the trees are all bare
We gather the family for Thanksgiving Day
And know that Christmas is not far away

But what's that I hear, as my thoughts start to spin
It's that bee in the flowers buzzing again
Where did the time go? I ask myself
I wish I could keep it in a box on a shelf

But time marches on, and days fly away
And we must realize that time cannot stay
Each day can not be the same as the last
There's a future beyond us and a time that has passed

As you're reading these words, written some time ago
There's something I wish you all to know
On earth, time will end for you and for me
But in Heaven with our Lord, it's for eternity

COMMUNICATION WITH GOD

We
need
to keep
on talking
to God. Comminicating
with Him is how we pray. He
is a wonderful Heavenly Father!
He made all of us for a reason! When
we are sad and depressed, that is when
we need to talk to Him. Reading the Bible
is a way for us to listen to God. He is here for
all of us. In the New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Phillipians 4:6 says "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
known to God." He will help us if we let Him. I have a favorite verse
which helps me abundantly. From (NASB) Phillipians 4:13 - "I can do
all things through Him who strengthens me." Praising Him is what I like
to do best.

MLK - 1929 - 1968

MLK...
(January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

they shot you down
all those years ago

but

your dream lives on
and always will

for though much has been
gained since you dreamed
your dream

there is much to fight for
and much more to struggle for

and much, much more
to fight for still

so
your dream resounds in
our hearts and we pledge
this to you today
for though they shot you down
all those years ago on a memphis day
we shall overcome
this we do believe
deep in our hearts
that
we shall overcome
someday...

THE ONE WITH THE UNUSUAL COLOR

Last year all pumpkins were brightly orange,
every time I glanced at them on that range....
I thought of another Thanksgiving Day
when I would kneel down and pray.

I went to the October annual pumpkin patch
where many folks had the irresistible itch
to find those pumpkins they liked to take home,
sadly, I was left there alone and aimlessly roamed.

What I saw was not the orange pumpkins
I was searching for...they hadn't the usual color:
staring at me there were white pumpkins
nobody wanted to pick up, I looked no further.

Did I think what my Thanksgiving pumpkin pie would have looked like:
a lemon pie instead? Kids and adults would have laughed at me!
It seemed I had no choice but to take the one so plump and ripe...
and I shouldn't have been late to taste that bitter dose of reality!

Not too glad to have found the one with the unusual color,
I put my fantasy to work...thinking of a way to make it orange;
I bought a bottle of orange flavor extract to give it a real color
and blended with the ingredients hoping for an award in vintage.

Closer to an hour I constantly watched it bake and I peaked here and there...
oh, the vapors smelled superb as I happily laid back in my rocking chair!
And had they known of my cheat , I would have been expelled from the Pumpkin Fair!
Luckily, I won the competition for taste and artistry...admitting to myself it wasn't fair.

Prophet Noah in Holy Quran part3

As commanded, Prophet Noah now set upon the task of building the Ark with the help of the small group of believers. The sight of Prophet Noah and his men constructing the Ark seemed to amuse the chiefs and unbelievers. They did not realise the seriousness of the situation but only laughed and jeered.

“Whenever the chiefs of his people passed by him, they mocked at him…” — Holy Qur’an, 11:38

Prophet Noah would now answer back to their mocking comments in a very bold and straight-forward manner:

“…If you ridicule us now, verily we too shall mock at you, even as you mock (at us). But soon will you know who it is on whom will descend a penalty which will cover them with shame and upon whom will fall a lasting penalty.” — Holy Qur’an, 11:38-39

When the Ark was completed, Prophet Noah took with him his family and the believers, and a pair of every creature that was found on the land around him. Now God’s warning to the people that He would send floods upon them came to pass.

“At length, behold! there came our Command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth.” — Holy Qur’an, 11:40

The flood waters began to rise. Believers who had so far suffered at the hands of the chiefs and idol worshippers found themselves safe in Noah’s Ark. They offered their prayers and prostration to Almighty God as thanksgiving for the Mercy He had bestowed upon them. The unbelievers who had ignored God’s guidance were in a grievous state. All was lost to them. The heavy downpour of rain, the strong winds, the deafening thunder and the blinding lightning created confusion in their minds and fear in their hearts. They ran helter-skelter in search for safety. They climbed the roof-tops and the trees but nothing could save them now as the waters rose higher and higher.

Amongst the unbelievers was Prophet Noah’s own son, and he too was desperately trying to save himself from the flood waters. Prophet Noah’s Ark with all aboard was sailing safely on the waters and just when the Prophet saw his son he called out to him and said:

‘O my son! embark with us and be not with the unbelievers’. The son replied: ‘I will betake myself to some mountain, it will save me from the flood’. And Noah said: ‘This day nothing can save you from what God has decreed, for only those on whom He has Mercy will be saved’. And the waves came between them and the son was among the drowned ones.” — Holy Qur’an, 11:42-43

This Thanksgiving Day

Around the table
All together, holding hands
Closed eyes, and bowed heads
As we give our thanks to God
For all His bountiful gifts

The Night of Unleavened Bread

Matzos slip into their mouths
Voices project merrily...tonight is
The night of Unleavened Bread

Lamb and other delicious
Meats and veggies... satisfies our taste buds
What a splendid night it is!

Wine's brewin' in our wine cups
The dinner table - creates pleasant talk
During this meaningful night

There's moments of quietude
When it comes to de-leavening our lives
But, there's moments of gladness

On this night of peacefulness
Cheesecake - a delightful treat to savor
During this night of pure bliss

In the Baptism, for Kim

                          the prayer:
Quickened once, this seed uncrucified reclaims
Against the dessication of faith in my drought
And root dry tortures of decomposing doubt,
Against it all, a sudden impulse in the kernel flames
Thanks to my Divine Intervener, sweet love undying
Shattered falls the broken web to free my wings
The lung tarring vice, defeated, can no more clings
I joy in this, from doom and death returning
Sprout me again, breathe in me new a new day fresh
Water me with prayers of thanksgiving still, sun
Me fruit joy and grain, bless me where my Jordans run;
Unyielding Christ, out of thy grace, I rise to love afresh.

                           the testimony:
And I through travail of night to birth again
Carried you slumberless into faith of day
And I torn and shredded by sin's foul pain
From prayer to prayer wept against decay
Those years, distant, dark, void and cold
Those fears when death yawned wide iron jaws
And you my lamb staggered from the fold
O how I raged at life, and veiled despotic laws
That broke us into splinters with our dreams
I did not see today to sing again, doubts tears
Blinded me, heaven seemed silent to my screams
But today, you give me back my hope of years.
And I was not there to hold your hand, absent
From the cuddling moment my love had planned
And yet, devised by faith, I stood full present
For I am the jar of clay in the Master's kind hand
And you my child suffered it all, to bring me
Back from a superficial walk with love, and we
O let us rinse the skies with praise, let us
Walk, nobler creatures called from a common dust.

                                celebration:
Give me space to seal a kiss upon an embrace
To pour my joy before your pleasant face
Give me space to thunder with belief and stay
Exiled in ignorance, and clothed in wisdom when I pray.

Hypothetically Speaking Vol.III

If you knew my struggle would you try to
convince me that I'm gone make it
If you knew how bad I was hurting would
you try to take that pain away or just savor it
If you knew how much I loved you
would you continue to do me wrong
would you change your ways or press
repeat and play that same ol song
If you could grant my prayers
just think about it, would you?
No matter what your friends say
even though you had a rough past
would it cross ya mine that I'm
loving you unconditionally & true
If I showed you my inner self
would you be able to handle it
or would you runaway and just be
another statistic of my list of abandonment
Could I count on you to be as honest as me
would you think I was full of it
when I say all I desire in life is just to be free
Would you care If I died tomorrow knowing
you didn't appreciate when while I was living
Would you try to understand why I lived
the way I live with thanksgiving & repentance
If I told you the harsh truth of what
I really thought about life would you
or could you sympathize even though
there were no more tears coming from my eyes
How would you react If I had to erase you from
my life because of how you live yours
would you plead wit me not to or just point
me to the door.

A Time For Thanksgiving

During this time, of our way of living… We take a day that we call; “Thanksgiving.” The early pilgrims took time, to thank the Lord. Though there wasn’t much, they could “afford.” They wanted to thank God, for all he gave them! This was their way to really thank him! Over the years, and how this country’s leaning. It seems like we’ve lost it’s true meaning! We’ve so much pleasures and entertainment. I think we’re becoming “complacent.” As many are proud of they’ve “achieved.” Giving thanks to God is seldom received… It’s more than serving a turkey and dinner meal. Isn’t it time to thank God? Who made this all real! As we approach this time of the season… Let’s be thankful to God! And for good reason! He’s given everything we call as “our own.” He’s given our health and our home! It’s no secret what God’s done for you… Be thankful to him in everything you do! He makes it possible for you to be here! Let’s honor him! As Thanksgiving draws near! By Jim Pemberton

Christmas Traditions

Christmas Traditions
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

It was the Day after Thanksgiving and every store in town.
Had planned to opened wide its doors before daylight could be found.
It was an outlandish sight to see people sleep overnight.
Shoppers camping on sidewalks people waiting in the moonlight.

The Christmas shopping season was formally set in motion!
Hustling, bustling, getting, and grabbing: bikes, pipes, and lotion.
TVs, wreaths, computers, briefs, trees, ties, anything money buys.
Some starry-eyed children sway singing with Santa beneath skies.

Meanwhile, Jesus Christ, the nativity, and live manger scenes
Attempt to teach people what the Christmas season really means.
A few carolers come singing along their neighborhood streets.
And the folks that they sing too, with big smiles, surprise them with treats.

A God loving soul amid the clamorous celebrations,
Gathers his family, to make costumes and preparations.
Mary, Joseph, Jesus, shepherds, and the three Kings with gifts, myrrh.
Reverently, they reenact our blessed Savior's Holy birth.

This poem was written for Carolyn Devonshire's Christmas in Your Town contest.
Poetic form: A narrative written in couplets.

Quieten Me

                              Lord quieten my soul
                                       that I may,
                        focus solely on your worship;
                                   Being lifted into
                              wonderful rapturous,
                          thanksgiving and praises
                           in your divine presence.

                              Then as I consumed
                                     in adoration,
                             adulation and praises;
lift my heart up to you
                             touch me, relasing my

My B and Me

I look into your eyes, and we share a friendly embrace
Like schoolyard children we giggle at nothing in particular
You raise me up, when I feel like the world is spinning,
                           Dancing like a flickering candle,
                            Uncontrollable, like a flame
Inconsolable, I come to you and we go to Our Lord
                                 Reading the Truth,
Eating from the Spiritual tree of knowledge,
Laughing about the absurdities of this world
Talking to one another in eager anticipation for the Coming of the One
We sing sweet melodious songs in praise and Thanksgiving to our precious
                                       Christ
The redeemer of our souls, the Gentle Savior to whom we both cling
You are my friend, the confidante with whom I share my deepest
                                    Fears/Regrets
                                 Regrets/Sorrows
                                   Joys/Secrets
                                     Poetry/Art
                                 Words/Symbols
The words that I write, the words you have longed to hear
                       Encapsulated in my thoughts

                        What more can I say?
                                    You
                                  Mean
                             The World
 	                 I
                                     Me
                                    You
                                    We

Jesus Is A Solid Rock

My soul is broken. My body's achin'.
At times... I feel so
utterly forsaken.

I've tried to serve God
the best I could.
So many of his ways...
I've never understood.

Rather then trusting him
 and holding his hand.
 My life is sinking deep
into quicksand!

So many nights, I've cried
myself to sleep.
I feel like I'm in a pit 100 ft. deep.

I cry unto you Lord
to pull me out.
From you... Oh Lord...
I don't want to be without!

By your tender mercy
and unfailing grace.
I trust you to put my life
on a solid place.

This solid place is Jesus...
my rock and foundation.
I've received his free gift of salvation.

He put my feet on a rock to stay.
And his word guides me
each and every day.

A song of thanksgiving is what I bring.
He is my righteousness
 and my everything!

He's always there when I've
needed someone to turn to.
He's here right now...
and is waiting for YOU!

Thank You For Lesser Blessings

I pray to The Lord to thank Him,
for gifts He provides each day.
A prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus,
for the blessings He sends my way.

I thank you Lord for the lesser things,
and not think it so odd,
for I know that even the smallest,
is given by The Grace of God.

Thank you for a stove and a pantry...
for a blanket, pillow, and bed...
for clean sheets, warm covers, and pajamas,
and sending my daily bread.

Thank you for washcloth and towels...
for soap, a tub, and sink...
for tube of toothpaste and toothbrush,
and a faucet of cold water to drink.

I have taken so much for granted,
hardly given it much thought,
but from now on I will pray to thank you Lord,
for these lesser blessings wrought.

I have prayed a prayer of thanksgiving,
for provisions The Lord has given;
may we promise and always remember,
to be grateful thankful children!

Going for the Gold

A 60 year old woman entered a marathon,
she wanted to set a personal goal
not to win it, but just to be in it
going for her own gold
but just after about 19 miles into the race
she tripped and fell down
she had broken her ankle bone
and was laid out on the ground
the paramedics told her, her race was now over
but she would not hear of such
she instructed them to put away that stretcher
and give her a cane or give her a crutch
she said my race is not over,
if I can't run it, then I will walk
her determination was her inspiration
and she was not about to balk
going for the gold was her only destination
her vision, her goal, her sole consideration

Our God is a God of faith and strength
a God of progression
not a God of failure or fear
nor a God of regression
for God will lift you up
if you should ever fall or trip
just make sure that with Him
you have a personal relationship
for God wants to be in the picture
draw near to Him and He will reciprocate
He can strengthen and transform you
on a level that is intimate
treat Him as you would treat a lover
for He is more than just a friend
He will always be by your side
through thick and through thin
have Him in your heart too
for It's not only about intellectual perceptions
let the Holy Spirit increase your faith
be full of thanksgiving and open to God's receptions
get your mind on the right track and let God work in your life
use your past experiences to remind you of all that you have sacrificed
It's alright to look back just don't live in it and then get mad
utilize the power of memory and thank God for all that you have had

So keep on keeping on
know that God will lighten your way
let nothing and no one paralyze nor limit you
from obtaining your goals this day

Yet even in the midst of discouragement
that woman proceeded to accomplish her goals
with faith in God and in herself
determined and destined to go for the gold

Let Your Soul Ascend Nearer Heaven

Let Your Soul Ascend Nearer Heaven ”Inspired by Steps to Christ," written by Ellen G. White Let Your Soul Ascend Nearer Heaven On the wings of worship and praise. Worship God with song and music; Your melodic voice to raise. With thanksgiving of melody Honor your Lord on high And on those wings of worship May your heart with joy fly. In the courts of heaven Sweet music plays always; Angels worship our Master With soft voices singing His praise. The beauty of this music Is like nothing here on earth. It’s accompanied by millions of voices Of angels singing for all they’re worth. Music touches the heart And sometimes pierces the soul; Convicts with precious rhyme, For that was the Inspirer’s goal. Lyrics put to music Have greater impact than words alone. That’s why singing Bible verses Leads us closer to heaven’s throne. So Let Your Soul Ascend Nearer Heaven On the wings of worship and praise. Praise the Lord for His numerous blessings Of supply and good health, not malaise. As you sing your soul will fly Way up above this earth below; Nearer the courts of heaven; Where the joy of heaven you’ll know. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2012 www.maureenlefanue.com

White Thanksgiving

We dream of it for Christmas Eve,
The swirling pearls of snowy down--
Its blanket grows and does not leave
And covers homes and barns around.

The horses stay within their stalls,
Thinking cowboys this day won't ride--
Far from the busy shopping malls,
Where folks seem so empty inside.

Yet, still the family gathers
On this rare white Thanksgiving day,
To thank the Lord for what matters--
Share their abundant feast and pray.

Though some are here in memory,
We love and laugh with them in death--
Knowing to cherish things that be
And relish our time with each breath.

So at tables we say prayers
Over food this white Thanksgiving--
As we put away all our cares
And thank God and kin still living.

Ring Around The Pumpkin

For the bounty of the earth
Come Ye thankful people come
For it is Autumn
And the leaves are coming down
Run run sweet John Barley Corn
Let's play ring around the pumpkin
As the harvest moon shines
On the jingle jangle scarecrow
For I'am just a little acorn
Bounded for another harvest home
As the wind shakes the barley
Like a slow Thanksgiving waltz
For our farmers sets the table
To a wondrous haymakers hoedown
For we bid ado to a Shokan's fairwell
And now thank we to all our God

Happy Harvest Time To All

Preponderance

 Preponderance
Preponderance

So many people live in darkness and superstition the web and internet eye am
certain add some falter in among them let us see just how bad this thing could
get. The bible verse is plainly written and taken from the context says and yet a
myriad bunch of people make the evidence all wet Oh they say Judas went out
and hanged hisself and then they quickly turn the page again and finger falls to
open page again it says now GO AND DO THOU LIKEWISE? Oh foolish man has
killed hisself again. When will people never learn the will of GOD?
It is the sovereign will of GOD that Jesus Christ has come and taken all our
penalties upon the TREE of sacrifice the Cross has done the work that each man
could not bring to bear the fruit of love. To refine clothing in the dark to make the
linens white it took HIS blood. There is almost nothing measures up please do
some works and fill your cup with pleasant things and love. Feed someone or
feed yourselves at least with diligence and concrete things some fish perhaps
some meat instead of bread. Drinks and cookies iff you are rich
Lay them end to end on tables laden with the rich fatty food of thanksgiving
and left over candy from your Halloween the candy corn is fave with me.
But even iff you lay a can of food in front of only yew be thankful that you eat.
The LORD paid for all the turkey and the meat. Begin to realize it is no parlor trick
and reach out in your falter to preponderance.

THE FIRST THANKSGIVING

THE FIRST THANKSGIVING

The Pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving
At Plymouth in October 1621.
The bitter winter of 1620, was over
With a loss of many father, mother, daughter or son.

Life for survivors was much better now
As a good harvest improved what was rationed
Settlers enjoyed good health and prosperity
As homes were raised from the logs they fashioned.

They walked unafraid and safely in the woods
For they had made peace with the Indians.
After the signing a long-lasting treaty
Natives and Pilgrims shared the land as friends.

Sending four men to shoot waterfowl and wild turkeys
The Pilgrims decreed a holiday of good fortune
A chief was invited who brought 90 braves
And five deer to increase the portion.

It was an open-air roast and festival
Held along the north bank of Town Brook.
Where there were games of skill, chance and dance
While everyone gorged on the feast they cooked.

From then on Thanksgiving spread through the colonies
Though each region chose its own date.
Till in 1789 president Washington proclaimed
November 26 a day to give thanks and celebrate.

The theme of Thanksgiving has always been the same.
Though its date has changed many times.
A day for giving and remembering the less fortunate
Expressing thankfulness with our prayers, hearts and minds.

It is our duty as a nation to acknowledge providence
Of Almighty God, and to obey his will.
To be grateful for his blessings, and protection
As we humbly partake in the tables we fill.

THANKSGIVING

It's a time of plenty and a time for prayer,
A time for families to gather and share.
It's a time to remember those pilgrims past,
A time to celebrate life, while it last.

As we bow our heads around the table,
With turkey, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
Before we feast we’ll thank our Lord
For the blessings of the year gone by.

Old Jack Frost is freezing on the windows,
As outside the bitter wind blows.
While inside there's a red, hot fire,
Which welcomes and warms both hearts and souls.

Still your not here

It’s Valentines Day full of cards and kisses
Wish you were here covers all of my wishes

Easter is here and were celebrating our lord
Each day that passes I miss you even more

It’s been seven years today since we said, “I do”
It seems longer than that since I last held you

We all gather together for the birth of our land
It’s the Fourth of July and your not here as we planned

It’s your birthday today marking 34 years
When I think of you celebrating alone, it brings me to tears

Now it’s thanksgiving and the families all here
The rooms filled with spirit and still your not here

Out of habit I set a place at the tables head
The kids leave it and “Soon Mom” is all that was said

Santa is coming and kids are full of cheer
I try to keep smiling even though you are not here

Pictures with Santa and the lighting of the tree
Smiles on Christmas morning I wish you could see

We gather to wish good tidings to all
I sit and wait by the phone thinking maybe you’d call

You have missed a great deal in the year you’ve been gone
Jason had a great time at his junior prom

Katie turned seven and Chrissie turned two
For all their birthday wishes- they just wished for you

At night we all get tucked into bed
We snuggle up close and then bow our heads

Dear Lord please keep special watch over our Dad
If anything happens to him we’ll be so sad

He’s over helping the other country grow
Doing his job as you already know

He’s helping other little boys and girls
Opening their eyes to a whole new world

We are so proud of him and hold our heads high
But each night we hear mommy lay there and cry

We all miss him more than you know
Yet during the day we don’t let it show

We have to be strong and keep the faith
That soon he’ll be home with us and be safe

We are proud to hang that flag up high
We are all so full of American pride

We pray for all the soldiers’ safe return home
We pray that there are no more families left alone

Dear God for this Christmas please hear us pray
Bring our soldiers home where they belong, where they’ll stay

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is almost here,
A time of year I hold so dear.
A time of gathering of family and friends,
A time of good food from which there seems to be no ends.

A time to devote to sharing our faith and being thankful for all our blessings,
A time for roasted turkey and lots of gravy and dressing.
A time for reflecting on all the good that inspires our life,
A time for making amends and burying those burdens and strife.

A time for telling your children what a blessing they are and the role that they’ve played,
A time for seeking out miracles and answers for the prayers that we’ve prayed.
A time for honestly thanking the Lord and admitting how we’ve all gone astray,
A time for helping those less fortunate and brightening their day.

A time too realize that we can bless others with kind words and a smile,
A time to let our hearts heal as we learn how forgiveness never goes out of style.
A time to thank God for this awesome country and to acknowledge that He is needed more
than before,
A time to pledge to take back those values and virtues from shore to shining shore.

May God bless your Thanksgiving and let His love guide your way,
So Happy Thanksgiving, and have a Blessed and Happy Day.

JESUS Evidence Of Things Not Seen

BY faith we can kiss the feet that wore the shoes
That the latchets we are unworthy to loose
Leave are burdens with thanksgiving sweetly cry
By faith we can reach up to the nailed scarred hands
That led the blind man out of town in the way
Keep looking up to the eyes that wipe away all tears
By faith can lean upon Jesus' bosom
With listening ears hearing the heart beat of God
Whispering saying that love shall never die
By faith receiving his love with and without fears
It is written love him he will led you in the most excellent way
Living to die dying to live it is by his strength we stand
By faith as Jesus once again heals the blind man looking at his face
The blind man looking around saw every man clearly
Love is of God we must not from their lovely faces hide
By faith the brother we have seen on the street lying or stumbling by
Love our brothers we have seen dearly
The knowledge of the saving grace for whom our saviour died
By faith and grace of our Lord Jesus in morrows by and by
Be that pure and perfect bride
Who is my mother,or brethren?",Jesus said we can by faith

Take No Thought

Take no thought for your life,
What you shall eat or what you shall drink.
Is not your life more than that of meat?
Behold, the birds of the air
Are fed by God our Heavenly Father.
So, neither do they gather, sow nor reap.
Now aren't we much better than they?

Take no though for your body,
What you shall put on or be your measure.
Is not your body more than stature and clothes?
Consider the lilies of the field;
They toil no, neither do they spin.
Yet, God arrays them and the flower grows.
How much more shall He provide for us of the faith?

Take no thought for tomorrow
And all the things that the world seeks after.
Does not your Heavenly Father know your need?
So seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness,
And all these things shall be added to you
That you beg not, neither be forsaken nor your seed.
How much more then should we patiently wait?

Take no thought and be anxious for nothing;
Tomorrow will worry for things of its own.
Does not each day already have enough trouble?
So in everythng by prayer and supplication
With thanksgiving make your requests known to God
Each day that you and Peace be as a couple.
Now isn't today that tomorrow you feared yesterday?

A SWEET THANSGIVING

A sweet thanksgiving is
felt by all who are
grateful: as an obligation
and a fervent devotion
toward Someone
who's greater than us!

As the growing lights
of the new sunrise
engulf us in stupefaction,
magnificence strikes us
with its overwhelming force;
and in it we find consolation...
when our fading hope
is challenged by faith!

A sweet thanksgiving
is simply the appreciation
for being free and alive,
to thank the One who gave
us life...to continue living
with compassion and rendition!
