Judge Not

The congregation eyed him skeptically
Long hair, a beard and sandals on his feet
Beyond his exterior they’d not see
This rambler had just come in from the street

He blessed himself with the sign of the cross
And joined fully in each hymn that was sung
It was soon apparent it was their loss
When he greeted God with a gentle tongue

“Lord, You sent Your Son to roam on this earth
His hair was long and to some seemed unkempt
And when He preached, insults were often hurled
But He was not repelled by their contempt

“And so, Lord, I seek forgiveness for these
Who cannot see beyond the clothes I wear
I’ll not be put down by those I displease
I ask for forgiveness, make them aware

“That Your Son sported sandals and a beard
I ask You judge them not as they judge me”
When the mass ended, the man disappeared
At heaven’s gate his name’s on the marquis

Some of the congregation dwell below
But the homeless man now sits by God’s side
For he had chosen love’s path to follow
     Appearances he did never deride

Walk With Me

Walk With Me

I said, "Look at the mess I've made."
He said, "Take my hand and don't be afraid."
I said, "But I feel so ashamed."
He said, "I love you son and you're the reason I came."

I said, "What about those dark days ahead?"
He said, "My love will be nourishment and keep you well fed."
I said, "I'm not brave tell me what to do."
He said, "Believe in me and I'll carry you through."

I said, "Okay Father, teach me to be a man."
He said, "I love you my son now take my hand."
I said, "My soul is Yours for eternity."
He said, "I'm proud of you my son, now walk with me."

The Prodigal Son!?

And then I took this box of blight, and cast it into the sea of forgetfulness

Once I had finally realized, that it had become a Pandora unto myself....

A portal of passage towards darkness' infiltering of my heart

To oppress and repress, within these guises of its warmth and love!?

For a few years now I have faced this siege it seems

Relentless within its assault; as it entrapped me within its enthralling snares

Amid, these cyber space affairs....

Carnals descentuous desires, coursing through the chambers of ones mind

To encumber the moments of it all; this winding maze of megrims melange

The reasons why I came!? And the reasons why I am here?!

Burning edges of this portrait; solstice melting amongst the fire

This refining within the furnace, of a copper coloured gold

Liquidized, and now pouring from my sediment covered lashes....

For here I have arrived beyond the gates, at sapients spired Cathedral

To wash them from the purified vascular vases; cleansings at Saint Valentines!

Standing before "The Father," within these absolute professions of truth ~

A spirit beseeched between, the seculars realms of want and need

In through the slanted door, wherein my steps once more, took, the twisted turn....

When shall I know? And when shall they learn?

Onshore land mines, which must forever be navigated throughout this life

Blind to their presence; these bemusing crossbows of befuddled night?!

Recipience, how you betray me; like an enemies sword thrust into my side

Gushing these endless rivers of lapillus' lavender....

Mingled within my very own bereaving blood

Seeping, from the virtuous veins of this unseen soul!?

Placing it all upon the ground again, as I must turn to walk away

Unto the vestige of understanding; drawing these "Holy Vesting Waters" ~

Into the sapphirine chalice, once bearing its wine....

To splash into this befoged visions, obscurities plastered shut

That they may crumble into pieces like frozen epizoons of dust, as, I fall upon my knees

"What is it that you desire that I should do for you?," He asked

Before spitting into my eyes, "This Breath, of 'Light!'" ~

Placing His hand tenderly within my own, and leading me quietly unto the side

"Welcome home," He smiled, "but I have been with you all of the time"

While as He gently and lovingly wiped, the mud, from my blurried sight....

A Christmas Conversation

Daddy, were you alive when Jesus was born?

No honey, he was born a long time ago, over 2000 years ago.

Where was he born Daddy?

In Bethlehem, a small town in the desert in a manger,

Whats a manger Daddy?

It's a place where they kept animals to feed them.

You see when Jesus was born the Inn was full, so
they had to get Mary to a warm place to give birth to Jesus.
that was the only place they could go.

Daddy who is Jesus' Daddy?

God is his Father honey?

But who is Joseph?

The Chosen Father, who God chose to raise him, Mary's Husband

I don't understand Daddy!

God wanted a son, he could not have a son without Mary and Joseph's
help. God asked them both if they would help him, without even thinking
they said yes. God gave to them a great gift, God gave them Jesus.

At that moment God gave us all a great gift, He gave us the Son of Man.

The Son of Man Daddy?

Yes honey, you see God is not Man, not one you can touch, Jesus
was, he healed people who were sick, He showed people how to love God
and how God loves them. There is one more important thing
I want to tell you honey.

What's that Daddy? Jesus did a coupla more things I think are
important, there are many of course but two I like.

Go on Daddy!

Jesus taught us how to love without conditions, like the way I love you
and you love me and your Mom and Brother. But how to love everybody
like that. The most important thing is, is that he died because we humans
broke God's laws, which means we sinned. He died so God would
forgive us.

Wow Jesus really did love us didn't he Daddy...?

Yes he did baby, and the really good thing is he still does and always will.

Come on it's time for bed!

Not until I say my prayers Daddy!

How bout we Pray together tonight?

I'd like that Daddy!

So would I baby, so would I .

Jump up on my back and I'll give you piggy back ride!

I love you Daddy!

I love you too baby, I love you too.........

My Christmas wish is you all have Conversations like this with your
kids. Trust me they bring tears of joy!

May God Bless you all this Christmas Season as he has Blessed me.

From Mary, Josh, Shay and myself MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR

                             With Love.....Taz

Have You Been Hurt By Religion

Have You Been Hurt By “Religion”?

Are you tired of “religious people”
 knocking at your door?
You wish they’d leave... “You can’t take it anymore!”

Have you been hurt by “church people” sometime in the past?
Somehow they hurt you... And the pain continues to last…

Have you been “wounded” by something
 somebody has said?
Perhaps you wonder if “they wish you were dead…”

Perhaps there’s someone that you
may have “befriended…”
They have done something that
 has hurt you and “offended.”

There’s probably many people that you wish would “go away.”
Because of something they’ve
done to “darken your day.”

I’ve been there many times… Believe me I know.
How someone’s actions or words can hurt your soul.

Even those who go to church are
often not very kind.
And they don’t hesitate to
give you “a piece of their mind.”

Religion is not the answer. Look to Jesus
and the life he gives!
He alone has the power to love
 and completely forgive!

It’s only in his shed blood that you can find atonement.
He can change your life now! This very moment!

He can heal your broken heart and wounded spirit.
An everlasting joy and love... He freely gives it!

He can do what no “church” or “religion” could ever do
He can restore your life today.
And make you BRAND NEW!!!

Die alone and born again

The man with the plastic bug in his head
monopolized my dreams last night
in the place that the horsefly of my dignity
finally surrender to the impresario without a fight.

Seven days and 7 hours transplanted in my memorabilia
reminding the rustiness of the purple child
flatterers danced beneath the clouds of melancholy
and morality spreader the master plan inside my mind.

The disinheritance of my immortality the final day
discouraged my desire to see the forbidden love
restored my will to escape
manipulated the deep of the uncertainty above.

Released from the plastic bug in my head
try to cover my yellow child in the purple sky
laughing,singing,whispering,playing
seven days and seven hours before he dies.

A Rising Son on Christmas

Eternally waiting for the second coming
a mother's heart flutters weakly, slow snow fills the dreary sky
the cars snake hypnotically forward twinkling red and gold lights
the sky is full of travelers hoping for a soft landing mother's heart flutters
slush streaked and faux-fur wet, bedraggled entry to the terminal obtained
terminal, once inside the reality of the name brings clarity to the wait
the stale high rise air twitters with sparrows, I perch as do they and wait
plastic benches hold little Christmas cheer, the blackboard rolls
flight 231 from San Francisco mother's heart flutters DELAYED
Starbucks may be the only star in this evenings sky
french fries grease the tile floor as a small child feeds the birdies
Deck the Halls blares fresh from the can, a longing for cotton balls rises
Soon soon I will see him again, the only egg we'd put in life's basket.
The Black board cycles and flight 231 shows NOW LANDING
a mother's heart flutters scarf and glove in hand the gate exit sought
Like action figures each weary homebound traveler springs
into the waiting arms of Mother or Father or the total gaggle
of loved ones squealing and waving their arms
mother's heart flutters home, home again, my son.

My Parents Did Their Best To Raise Me

My Parents Did Their Best To Raise Me As a child, my parents did their best to raise me. Teaching me about God, because they loved me! They taught me God’s ways,. This was their intention. They read the Bible, with an undivided attention. Each day I awoke. I was glad mom and dad where there. Especially when we gathered around the table in prayer. The many times we spent together I haven’t forgot. I’m so thankful for the Christian values taught. The values helped shape me into what I am today. And have helped keep me on “the narrow way.” I believe many of these values are being discarded. Even before many families are being started. A respect for God’s word seems to be a thing of the past. It’s no wonder many relationships don’t last. God’s principles must be our daily ambition. His love must be our rock and a TRUE foundation! We must seek his purpose and divine way of living. It’s HIS example that must be our way of giving! Giving to others kindness and love that binds us as one. Through the witness we have in Christ… His son! May God bless our hearts and homes in one accord. As we give our attention to Jesus Christ our Lord! By Jim Pemberton 10/01/11

Today Is Terrible----

The cracked spine of
the book I dropped
at the call.
A chip in my
windshield left by a
pompous *?#@! in a
red sports car as I
drive to the
service.
Rain expectorating
from an ashen sky as
the dirt is turned.
Today is terrible.
Though this is less
terrible than the
crack in grandma’s
spine from her fall
down the stairs.
The chip in her
amazingly smart mind
after eighteen years
as a teacher.
Tears running,
dripping from my
Mothers ashen face
as she cries “My
mama’s dead.”
Today is terrible.
Though this is less
terrible than the
cracked family
emotions left raw
and empty.
The chip in Grandpas
numb mind at the
gathering… “Where is
Irene she should be
here?”
Faces gone ashen
with dread, do we
leave him numb or
remind him that his
wife is dead?
Today is terrible.
Though this is less
terrible than the
empty silences,
missing the jokes
Grandma used to
crack.
Grandma’s laugh and
her endless smile
which always exposed
that tooth with the
chip in it.
Without her the
world has become
empty, bleak, and
ashen.
Today is terrible.

          Summer
Gratias
