A New Day

Her grateful kiss moistens the dawn, raised arms embrace the sun. A light like fire burns for all time, a new day has begun. When Sunday morning’s church bell chimed, brisk steps tapped with the song. Gray walls of stone held prayers within, stained glass cast shadows long. She stood hunched low prisoned by sin, carved statues froze her feet. A face of slate hid darkest fears, her path walked in defeat. A voice of hope from prayer spoke clear, love shined from grace unbound. With arms held high and knees bent low, soul praised without a sound. On high, she saw gold haloes glow and wings spanning blue sky. This Sunday morn behind church doors, to hate she said goodbye. With love, each new day to explore becomes a welcomed gift. The world around her is her church, God’s beauty does uplift! Heavenly song floats from high perch, the birds know all too well God’s love brought forth a melody from Sunday’s old church bell. Then when the bells toll solemnly, she’ll rise to a new song; bell’s chime will call to other souls as new days come along. for Isaiah's Interlocking Rhyme Contest, 1/24/15

Blood upon Pages

As I place the pen
on paper
my soul beings
to bleed
upon the pages
my secret longings
hopes and dreams
of which I hope to be,
how I want to reflect me
transpire into the universe
within my poetic lyricism
the warm sweet smoke
of my vega blunt
swirls about me, flickers
in and out of motion
as the vanilla candle nearby
fights the shadows in my room
the cool summer breeze
from my window
carries dancing sinsemilla
fog around me, allowing
my mind
to adventure elsewhere
into the nights abyss
of minutes, turned to hours
I write
pages, of words
scribbling my life, struggles
and fears
Bob Marley and Lauryn Hills
“turn your lights down low”
beat inspirational peacefulness
on my eardrums
my small hands delicately pluck
my imaginary guitar strings
as I join her in a solo, Miss Hill's
magical voice cracks
with emotion, and my soul
tingles with excitement
For creativity flows
within my veins
I breath real music, such as
she, as soon as daylight opens
thine dark brown eyes to see
The poetic flowetry, carries me
and speaks to me
the notes capture my inner
disturbance and desires
until the soundtrack of my day
takes me into Summers night
thoughts of my dreams
of being a published poet
clearly float
into my sight
Then, I sit
as I place my pen
upon the paper
black and white turn to one
and my soul bleeds
onto pages
into an early sun

Christmas Music

Compassion’s finger strums another note,
He listens as the angels start to sing,
Recalling lines from what apostles wrote,
Indwells the spirit held by Heaven’s king.
Succinctly spoken leaving soul in tune,
The gifts we need are never under trees,
Mosaic mustard seeds lit by the moon,
Aspires our gaze and prayers on bending knees.
Submits himself to love and sounds of grace,

Mistrust no longer drowns and mutes his heart,
United song with Christ, him to erase
So many sins in mercy to impart.
In essence, life and hope beyond today.
Contrasts the world, as it dissolves away.

Warmth of Breeze

Imagine me as a book covered with dust,
A soul whose warmth for years remained untouched

Letters on every page were ill-defined, unclear
The essence was hidden in an ambiguous fear

Uninterested I was in the societal rigmarole,
Me and my outer self were at opposite poles

Quite hesitant I was to turn to the next page
As I knew it would amount only to stormy rage
Quite concerned I was for my future pages and me,
The so-called bright world appeared shadowy

And in this dusky weather, suddenly the air felt unusual
This didn’t happen in years, the matter truly seemed crucial

I bizarrely felt the warmth of cool welcoming zephyr
My pages drifted, smiled and glinted like a pearl

My dull existence got transfigured into a life full-of-beans
Personified I was into a woman of worth, a woman of means

And now after owning this bag full of happiness,
I started reading the letters carved on me,

This time they were decipherable and defined,
They managed to unite me, my heart and my mind.

I looked around, in quest of the soul who revived me
Who passed by me and set my tangled soul free

Seeing him was out of question, quite hazy he appeared to me,
I could only fantasize him as a cozy breeze over the sea

Now, this breeze could be felt only when you are around me
You… only you and nothing beyond
You… the only one to make my passion profound
You… in your absence too you could be felt around
You … the only one in whom I am found!

The BIble Is The Inspired Word Of God

The Bible Is The Inspired Word of God!

I heard someone say “the Bible was written by man.”
But there’s a truth I don’t think he understands.

God used man to simply be an “inspired instrument.”
This was more than some type of “experiment.”

God used many different people from various places.
He used them from both the Jewish and Gentile races!

Though the words spanned a long period of time…
They were written with all of us in mind!

It was as if God himself had taken the pen.
He spoke directly through different men.

All of the books are together with a common goal.
To bring the words of God to the common soul.

I would encourage to read the Bible for your direction.
Allow God’s words to daily be your inspiration!

Won’t you read from Genesis through Revelation?
You can learn about God’s gift of salvation!

The Bible speaks of God’s love and holiness too!
And speaks to the heart of how much HE LOVES YOU!

You can also learn about eternity in a heavenly mansion!
Your life can receive a blessed “abundant life expansion!”

Through the words of Christ, you’ll be blessed!
As you find in him a comfort and a haven of rest!

I invite you to read and apply God’s truth today!
And be transformed by what he really has to say!

By applying Biblical principles in how you’re living!
You’ll be blessed by the awesome words God is giving!

last Prayer

There is nothing left for me to do on this earth,
I have said and done my dues for this world that's so cursed.
Every move I make is for you my king of kings and lord of lords,
Make me new and purify my heart and soul, hear my word.

It seems like every move I make now is all to get myself ready,
Ready to step into your holy presence all so steady.
I can't live without you my lord,
Without you I get really really board.

I can't walk this road alone,
Take my hand and walk me through all these stones.
Guid my soul, so that I can wall into the holy of holies,
This prayer should say it all God, I'm yours for ever once again.

Martyr for the Unorthodox word

If I had over 10,000 dreams You'd be the only thing my mind could see Judgment couldn't be real Succumbing to the fear of this cold life Find a way to break through The self-destruction of wordly delusions Don't tell me I've lived so long in a lovely illusion Break me down until we find a Nirvanic state Then bring me a savior from transgressions An atoning sacrifice Send down to me a messenger for me to submit to Bring me the truth to break through The delusion Bring me the messenger to explain it all And let me leave behind Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Without a will to fight But I have the Means to be free I'll try to go with the word I believe But so many stones to be thrown Stakes to burn, limbs to break Faces to hate, scorns to taste Will I have the will to die Despite all of the tears no one will cry Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Broke my will Safetefied my soul Martyr for the Unorthodox word Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Without a will to fight But I have the Means to be free I'll try to go with the word I believe But so many stones to be thrown Stakes to burn, limbs to break Faces to hate, scorns to taste Will I have the will to die Despite all of the tears no one will cry Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Broke my will Safetefied my soul Martyr for the Unorthodox word

For What's Worth Breathing

Look at me
I am the life in a wasteland

Look at me
I am the slavery through the ages

Look at me
I am the mirror of the world

Look at me
I am the illusion I’ve fought for

Look at me
I’m still loving you

and I keep being here

for you, for me,
and for what’s worth breathing

The need to know and to belong,
to sing the chorus and the song,
to learn to share and be a part,
not at the centre,in the the heart;
To play a role,an instrument
finely tuned in temperament,
one of many,in symphony,
essential,yet in harmony;
Yet we each,unique,individual,
in unison,sacred,sacremental.

Leave the Ninety-nine

We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep
Wand'ring far behind
We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep-
Left behind (Chorus)

Just suppose one of you has a hundred sheep
Then loses one of them and begins to weep
Would you not leave the ninety and nine
And go after the one on your heart and mind
And when it's found you would hold it closer
And carry it home upon your shoulders
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating your sheep that's back in the fold again

Likewise there's more rejoicing
In Heaven up above
Over one lost soul who will repent
Than for the ninety-nine
Who are already found
To be righteous and so obedient (So..)

Now suppose one of you has ten silver coins
But then loses one of them from your collection
Would you not light the house and sweep the floors
Searching very carefully for what is yours
Would you not put away the other precious nine
And look in every corner until the lost one you'd find
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating you have your coin in your hand again

But don't forsake the congregation
And now's the time for visitation
To lead the lost ones to salvation
With God's angels in celebration

The Musician-Poet

there is, indeed,a relationship
between music and poetry
creation! expression! release of things inside
If I had experienced neither, when I had died
And had to value the worth of my life,
And rate the influence my existence generated
for the general good, I'd be shy
How can I explain my worth, after I did die..

On this point I'd be proud,
Cause somehow I was so lucky,
To experience the joy of both
and did my best to leave a small mark
of my thoughts upon the earth
If but one word, one song,
one counterpoint jam, one painting
that I had done,
had meant something
to someone, than in this regard,
I have won!

Music Of The Spheres

Where the sun stops
And the light fades,
And the dark deepens
One finds a subtle
Horizon rest-

Within this symphony
Of great spheres-
Strings aloft,
Horns a summit of air,
Percussionists not a beat
To flare-
Safe harbor, so to speak-
A point
Without a peak...

For Time has no say,
With cycle in pure alignment,
The movement paused
Defying slip or stray,
The conductor's wand not a sway-

Here I also find You,
In the still
Without space,
On High of Grace…

One Love, A Tribute to Bob Marley

“One love…one heart, let’s get together and feel alright…
As it was in the beginning (one love), so shall it be in the end (one heart); give thanks and
praise to the Lord, and I will feel alright…” Bob Marley, Prophet.

I and I,
and together, we,
are one.

We are, but before we can be, we must realize,
that the only way TO be, is I and I – the trinity;
the I and I makes the one that was, is, and ever
shall be –
the one yearning to be set free
unto its brothers and sisters to its beginnings
and endings,
and on and on and on, and led into infinity
by its singers.

It is the one that does not seek,
and can only be found; rediscovered
like the greatest treasure the earth ever buried,
and the heavens ever knew –
                                the reason for all things…

So dance as one voice; sing as two feet
the earth with your glory;
free the one rhythm that has been vibrating between toes
for all of time –
dance beneath and above all things,
and sing the songs of freedom!

Rise up, rise up, rise up and dance!
Free the chains from your bound feet,
And feel the weight released –
A trinity of I and I;
One love, one heart, let’s get together
And feel alright…

I and I,
and together, we,
are one.

This Aint Real

Your face,
Made a fake smile, (you said)
I love you,
I need you,
I want you just for a while,
You told me,
That I made you smile,
All the things you said to me,
Are just words now,
How can we love,
When you love me for yourself,
(This Aint Love)

Chorus: 2x
What are we doin,
If this love ain't real,
What is this feeling,
That I feel,

I'm broken in emotion,
I'm broken in love, (you said)
I need you,
I want you
You're the only one,
I'm thinkin of, (so tell me)
How can we love,
When there's always someone else,
(This Aint Love)

Chorus 2x
How can we love,
When there's always someone else,
How can we make up,
When you only love me for yourself,

verse #3:
You got me imprisoned,
Inside your heart,
When kissed
I felt, Like we,
Would never be apart,
chorus 2x

Home of the Slaves

Land of the free
Home of the slaves
The blood, sweat and tears of my ancestors resonate
Amongst the soil where they were slain
I’m hearing their struggle
I’m feeling their pain
I can’t imagine being forced to part from my family
All for massa’s gain
So I pay homage to those who promoted change

People like every slave who tried to escape
Nat Turner, Ms Carlotta, Harriet Tubman
And the safe houses who were in accord
And peg leg Joe with his song
Follow the drinking gourd.

People like, the disregarded - those thrown overboard
And who was dismissed and defamed
The ones who were stripped of their soul, their pride, their names

The list could go on
The full will never be told
So I pay homage to others who were bold
Like John Brown, The Freedom Riders, Sojourner Truth
Ida B Wells, Phyllis Wheatley, Maya Angelou,
Langston Hughes and Charles Drew

George Washington Carver, Ruby Bridges
Booker T Washington and Mary McCleod Bethune
Charles Houston, Ralph Bunche, Fredrick Douglass
WEB Dubois, Paul Robeson, Ralph Abernathy
Benjamin Banneker, Marcus Garvey and Crispus Attucks
Who’s death by the way
Symbolized the American lie
You cant declare the rights of all men
While the people of African decent rights get denied
But still we rise

Thanks to Dr Martin Luther King, Malcolm X,
The Black Panthers, the Buffalo Soldiers and Tuskegee Airmen
None who were showed any love
Yeah it’s an uphill battle,
But obviously greatness can be done.

We can rise above this stigma
That blacks are lazy and daunting
That our worth is null and void
And in essence minus nothing
And of all the names mentioned
And the greatness of their successes
No one has been able to erase the evil transgressions of a racist mind
And once you have experienced just a taste of it
It changes your perception of time
The oppression beats like the drum on the chariot
Of when it was finally time to escape to freedom
It's mine

George Gershwin Terzanelle

When you’re longing for someone to watch over you
think about building a stairway to paradise
even if it means you must dance alone with you.

It may feel hard for your heart to sing, soul to rise
It may seem like you got plenty of nutting,
no matter, let your heart climb a stairway to paradise.

Alone may seem lonely and off putting
Life filled with love means it ain’t necessarily so
Love fills you with song, if you embrace plenty of nutting.

For when life cuts you down, tells you it’s time to go,
or too early in life you think your man’s gone now,
trust me on this honey, it just ain’t necessarily so.

All alone with a keyboard, is one way to answer how
with things, even when you want ‘em, you can’t get ‘em
but music never leaves you, even after your love’s gone now.

With stuff, when you got ‘em, you may not want ‘em.
Be real and long for someone to watch over you.
With love of men, when you want ‘em, you can’t get ‘em.
Dance with heart upstairs, so you’ll never dance alone.

Don't you worry bout my soul

Don't you worry bout my soul
Til you've been down all my lonely roads
And gauged the weight of my full load
Don't you worry bout my soul
I see you on the tv conning, talking squawking walking like you really care about me and my kind
You cry your tears like a crocodile empty eyes phony smile,
To me I plainly see you're clearly blind
So don't you worry bout my kind . . .
I see everything just fine
You're busy yelling and a tellin me all the things you think you can see, going on in this ol world you think ain't right
Get the beam on out of your own eye, til you've listened to the children cry, hungry and tormented in the night
Don't you worry bout my eyes . . .
I'm seeing everything just fine
Don't you worry bout my ears
Cause you've been deaf for many years
I don't need some deaf man tellin me what I should hear or how to be, when he is only playing on my fears
So don't you worry bout my ears . . .
I hear your deafness loud and clear
Don't you worry bout my mind
Though it gets misplaced from time to time
But I think I know what courage means, how heartache feels, when freedom rings
And I know that I am running out of time
So don't you worry bout my mind . . .
I think I'll get along just fine
Don't you worry bout my soul
Cause I met the Master long ago
And the one you portray Him to be
Is not the same One known to me
The One Who made me free so long ago
So don't you worry bout my soul.

A Song She Might Have Sung

Please, turn the music down And keep your voices low; There’s a new song I’m hearing now In a voice that’s soft and clear: It’s the One who’s always been with me . . . He’s walking closer now. I’ve lost all things I’ve ever owned: I cannot bring Him gifts Or sing His praises now. I have no strength to do great deeds: I stand before Him . . . empty. What does a Savior, such as mine, Need of earthly things? The whole wide universe is His. Or what great deeds Or songs from me Compare to those the angels sing? So, like a child, I lift my emptiness And bring Him only praise. I lift my soul, and wait For Him to cradle me In His eternal, loving arms. Shhhh . . . hush your voices; Keep the music down. The One who’s always been with me Is walking closer now.
(For Jan, with the beautiful singing voice, who died of ALS at an early age.)

Singing that Gospel Music

When you get to singing that Gospel Music, It stays with you. I'm feeling it way in my soul. When I get to sing that Gospel Music. I'm feeling it way in my soul. It stays with you. It talks about pain, it talks about pain, It stays with you. When you get to sing that Gospel music, Lord, Lord I call on you. Can't hold me back! Talks about my soul. Sing that Gospel music. Lord, Lord Can't hold me back, When you get to singing that Gospel Music.

Pity Party

I had the decorations each hung up there to see,
The music I had chosen was in the minor key.
The lighting was quite special--not bright, but very dim
To greet each one who came there as they came walking in.
I sent out invitations to everyone I knew
Each printed in plain letters on paper colored blue.
I sat there now just waiting for the first ones to show,
So sure that to my party so many want to go.
But I sat there so lonely, and full of bitter tears
That in my pity party no one had joined me here.
And now as I sat sulking in my dark room alone
With no one there to join me to hear me cry and moan,
I didn’t enjoy my party like I was sure I would;
If only others joined me, I thought it would be good.
But as I opened letters of their RSVP,
And I read all their reasons they could not be with me,
It seemed they had their problems much greater than my own,
They didn’t want my party where I would make mine known.
Then came that final letter, a page of golden hue
That seemed to come from heaven or somewhere beyond the blue.
It was a simple picture: a man upon a tree,
So beaten and so bloody, not a nice sight to see.
His outstretched hands were held there by two old rusty nails,
And crowds below were watching; with voices they did rail.
I cried then as I saw Him bear all my pain and sin
And asked Him to forgive me and bring me peace within.
Then, as I prayed, my party seemed such a waste and sham
As I thought about that Savior, God’s precious, dying lamb.
I changed the decorations, the music now was bright,
The room that once was dismal now shone with brilliant light.
My pity party’s over; come now, my friends, and see
What this great, precious Savior did for a soul like me!

I’ve become so numb
Due to the mass media
The images that we see today are from our own viewing
Not knowing the effects that we show
Come old or young we are all based on the wealthy
Views the show TV … beam me up Scotty take me away
Take me to a place were TV shows us what we wanna her
But we should not endear
This is their world not our day to day
Read beatify magazines they will only make you feel ugly
Skinny the thing to be, hay American high school that’s the place to be
Give me space while I lick my face
This is ace as this has no trace
Gang hoods
They must be thieves, this is what we no
As tv showed me, just like cloth around the face told me
Run like

Hay that dude must be black like 2PAC

It’s not true there just writing lines with rhymes
Just like me and you

In the dream world where reality becomes a fantasy
And fantasy becomes reality.

The impossible is made possible and death becomes no threat. Mountains turn to a plain ground and are surmountable.

In the dream world I can do the impossible and see the invincible. I can spread my wings, soar and fly through the clouds reaching the altitude of my fortune and destiny.

In the dream world I am unstoppable and unquestionable, conquering all my adversaries. The treasures of this world are at my disposal, kings and kingdoms are my subjects.

In the dream world wishes don’t count but choices are made. That is why I have made the choice to have you as mine forever. In my dream world where there is no pain but gain, no distress but fortress, no cross but crown.

Tears of a Little girl

Tears of a little girl
that's so young, that's in her childhood,
make a golden well, make a golden well,
but she doesn't realize
her tears sing a song so beautiful.
They sing a song of treasure,
they sing a song so wonderful,
they sing to worship God,
but she doesn't realize
she has a gift to sing.
She mustn't sing for anything
she must sing for the King,
but she doesn't realize,
she can sing so goldenly, (so as a golden well)

You were such a young boy
With a tragic past
I know it still haunts you
Feeling like the pain will always last
Just remember, Just remember
I'm here for you
Keep your strength up
And always stay true

So make me a promise
A promise that you'll keep
Better your life
Before your into deep
I'll stick with you
Even when I'm gone
Watching from heaven
As you carry on
That's my promise

I know its a struggle
Fighting the demons of your past
Don't worry brother
I'll pick u up when ur falling fast
And always in my eyes
No matter what you do
I'll always have you back
No matter the decision you choose

So when you feel
Like you wanna give in
Keep your head up
Remember where u've been
Find your inner strength
And moving toward
What you wanna achieve
Always push forward

Love To The Music

The music pumps the groove,
The music makes me move,
The music lights my heart,
The music bangs so hard,

The music makes me dance,
The music brings romance,
The music crowds the place,
And the music relates,

The music makes me wanna dance,
All night long,
The music makes me wanna dance,
And feel this song,
The music makes me wanna love you,
All night long,
(We can love)
To The Music

The music lights my soul,
The music takes control,
The music makes you love,
The music is a drug,
The rhythm of us being in love,

Right Now

In the exact moment that I am right now
I stand in a sea of vulnerability;
susceptible to the effects of causes around me
and since I am fully aware,
I own my surroundings
I am one with sounds and vibrations
resonating from the earth;
I am that pulse of the drum beat
thats been thrashing
inside me since birth

Right now, I am exactly as I am
deeply flawed and misjudged
used, victimized and persecuted
Right now I am you in the absolute

Right now, I am exactly as I am
balanced, whole and complete
attracting abundance and certainty
Right now I am peace - still you
Right now, I am exactly as I am

Evening Quarters- music to my ears

	Evening Quarters

And far away across the fields
the tolling of the iron bell
calls the faithful to their knees
to hear the softly spoken
magic spell.
Sounding out to loneliness
soothing whispers to bereaved.
Grace confirmed by carillon
they live on, who believed.
As night call changes herald summer, echoes
summon hope
the pious soul ascending with
each pull upon the rope.
Forged in fire, tuned by blade
twelve sisters harmonise
bearing witness through the centuries
for those we've lost will rise.
