Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

Soul Mates

When I first saw you with your eyes of blue,
I stumbled, I stuttered, I did not know what to do.
When you held my hand my heart would melt,
you always knew how I felt.
Holding you tight those many years,
sometimes I can't hold back the tears.
How happy we were in this life,
now my days are full of strife.
For we were soul mates my dear,
and one day again I will hold you near.

Trip on, Trip up

Walk before you speak.
Lend your voice that seek.
Foot forward and back.
So will that be a fact.
Gone by and be well.
Trip up and put into a cell.
Got no one to talk to.
I want a phone call to sue.
When I wake from my slumber.
I wish not to be hit by lumber.
Going to become a dreamer.
I hope that I do not become a screamer.
I got new shoes.
With colorful strings that are loose.
I am slow on tying them.
I feel they are harder than stem.
String are not new.
They smell pew.
I walk once again to journey.
That means I need some money.
Trip up again with meaningless acts.
Walking with out trust that lacks.
Shamefulness I speak.
I go behind a tree to leak.
I have no home set in stone.
Wheeling and dealing always alone.
Since I was a child that was left on the street.
I became a street beat.
Strolling with confidence to day.
Making my way.
Some law men stop me.
I was so out of it that they can see.
They thought I was on drugs.
I was really itching bugs.
Stumbling because I have not eaten.
So they grab me and I got beaten.
They finally found me innocent.
So I told them to get bent.
I was a good citizen with high hopes.
The society today thinks I am on dopes.
Can I be help with no pain.
Will they put me some were I will gain.
So I was put into a helpful place.
I was then able to eat and say grace.
Some crazy person came in and started shooting.
So people ran and started looting.
Cannot get away from bad luck.
Sure enough I feel so stuck.
Knowing that I was fleeing.
I became worth not seeing.
I lay there my time just feeling has pass.
Losing my mind and running out of gas.
Finally I hear a person the sound sounds so weak.
A life time that I wanted to seek.
Found myself in a bed.
Down to nothing I was shed.
A person with white clothes that said your in luck.
You survived and now you owe some buck.
So sad not really glad.
Bad thing was the kid that was shooting was my lad.
Time really passes I just want to walk.
To see my kid to talk.
Why did he do what he did.
Dad he said I was starving and I am a kid.
So I have turn to a life time of crime.
Dad do not give me your time.
Because when we talked long ago.
You just left home with all the doe.
Hope you have a good life.
Because mom had been a good wife.
Now it is your turn.
So you can walk into the fire and burn.
With out a doubt you will walk away.
Trip on and Trip up and you will never pay.
Now dad keep your love.
Because I seek my mother above.
You will be chain.
Down you go insane.

Tender of Roses

Beloved, lovely roses: gift of God and lover’s flower,
Spread your colored petals and cradle tender showers.
While admiring the blossoms with their beauty to behold,
Ought we not to know the Tender of such lovely garden groves?

For He lovingly and thoughtfully wields His pruning shears
To cut away the stems of old for fuller future years.
He cultivates and feeds them. He attends them as a Father
Looking daily to their needs; so faithfully He waters.

From the dawn of morning dew until the setting sun arrays
Caring always for His own until that great appointed day…
When the Gardener comes to claim each one the earth held as its own.
He gently picks it at its peak and for His pleasure takes it home.

As God did one glorious morning, when the Perfect Rose had bloomed.
He rolled away the stone and met with Mary at the tomb.
There the sweetest Rose of Sharon rose that we die not alone.
But be gathered for a garden grove, surrounding heavens throne.

My Love

My love I can not find you anywhere,
I feel like I lost my soul somewhere,
because you are my soulmate,
and us being apart can not be fate.

You did not leave because you wanted to,
It just was just something you had to do.

I was not right, All I wanted to do was fight,
and knowing you was the love of my life,
yet I would not make you my wife.

I know that's what you really wanted
and now I am feeling haunted,
by the things I should have done,
and you being the only one
I ever loved and will love forever, if it was'nt for me we will still be together.

But you are gone
and I can not go on,
so I must say good-bye, I'm leaving myself to die.

Broken pieces work

Picking up the shards of shattered you Each jagged reflection staring back too Anger turned from brokenness of heart Mirrors only amplified the tears dart As memories of togetherness flow A man in the presence of letting go She sobs in a patch work of memories Stitching the old love letters the hurt flees The smell of his shirts comforter of times Each block sown with care as love's healing binds In mosaic's or quilt's this will transcend Even after a death love has no end

A New Day

I might sparkle in the night but I'm not the only star you might not see them in the sky it depends on where you are Am I the only light in your eyes that makes you smile when you cry if your favorite's what you say don't you blink it might fade away Only when we give everything we're truly ready for better things we invite ourselves off to drift the steam rises and our spirits lift Follow me, into sun sets be brave and strong with no regrets and when the sea takes the light we'll find a new day after the night there's still a new day after the night

Black and White

You’ve maddened me to the core
You singed me with your ferocious fire
We’re opposites… we’ll never integrate
We can’t blend with each other…
Your love and I’m hate
We’re contrary to each other…

So don’t even think about
Getting us back together
Because without a doubt,
We don’t click with each other…

So let us go our own way…

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to be deleted from my mind…

I’m not the one that should pay the price
You act as if you’re an angel from heaven
But, you’re a fiend…a devil from hell...who needs your advice?
Could someone unchain me from this prison?

So let us prepare for that day…

Fear and bewilderment build inside of our minds
Taking over us…we’re wasting valuable time
Terror and wrath injects into our veins…time starts to unwind
I’m regaining my glory…this moment feels so sublime

You think you’re innocent?
I can sense your guilt…bleeding through you
Do you live to feed me anguish?
Don’t deny it…you crafty demon…no wonder I feel blue

Let’s get ready for battle…
I’ll watch you decay…
IT’S PAY BACK TIME . . .
Taste my fury and my agony

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to be defeated…

I scream before nightfall
I close my eyes to kiss my demise
I want to disappear
Scratch away my desolation
Wipe away my tears…
Spewing out of my eyes…like a waterfall
Tonight, there will be dismay
There will be suffering
After sundown…
Failure and glory will expose like stars in the midnight sky
Who will earn the crown?
No one knows in silent wars – who can reveal the light in goodbye

Why are we black and white?
Are you too afraid to know the reason why?

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to suffer alone…

A Flower's Funeral

A sweet flower's funeral
displayed in the cold months
of snowy weather and bone chilling shivers.
A sweet flower burned away, dried up;
buried six feet under.

Oh, my sweet flower,
how you once bloomed with no remorse,
like a madman blooming with beauty
and a glorious halo over your head
shinned with such power and blinding glory.

Oh my sweet flower how you have gone now,
resting in peace in the land of paradise.
Oh, my heart it is weak when I see your face,
of once beautiful smiles and warm embraces.
I can hear your crying out to be free.

Snowing and bone chilling cold ripes at my soul
and feelings of sorrow rage through my blood,
boiling my hatred to the world, for losing your
sweet and ever glorious beauty.

What I would give away, if I could be with you
one last night, one last night together
to hold you in my arms, to smell your sweet perfume
that brings back sweet memories of you and I.
What I would do to be with you,
such romance travels through my heart in the highways
of my veins in my body, love is all throughout me,
and my heart breaks when pictures of you start to collect dust.

My love for you, my sweet flower,
is still ingering through the air,
as I travel and look upon a tombstone
which shows your beautiful name.

Come to me my dear flower,
when spring comes,
come to me my dear, sweet flower.
And bloom once again,
twice as large as last year,
and ten times more beautiful then last year.
Come to me in the first months of spring
in my dreams, so I could sit and talk with you.
I miss you already,
and my heart crys,
my eyes flood with tears of sorrow.
I miss our love we shared.
Long walks,
cosy talks,
warm cuddling embraces
and beautiful displayed in a picture frame.
Now I hear the tapping of raindrops on my window pane.
That is all that keeps me company,
that and the rose you gave to me
and a picture of you and me.
Love is endless, even when blue eyed Death comes to visit
and play a game of chess with us,
we all play our game, my love.
I shall go tonight
in my sleepy slumber
and dream of you in the times of our height in our love for each other.
My lost love, you are gone, resting in paradise,
but never forgotten my sweet flower.

In memory of Bob

In memory of Bob
A true story.

It was in spring of two thousand when I first saw Bob. I’d just started working at Perth Dental hospital, and in fact it was my first day there. I walked up to the front door of this building, but it wasn’t yet opened. So I turned around and went to sit in the bus shelter which was just outside the building. As I went to sit down I noted a dark skinned gentleman sitting there with a happy, benign look on his face. He was about five feet eight give or take a little, and he was rather a thickset man who looked like he’d done his fair share of hard work in his sixty years or more.

There was something about this Gentleman that I could not quite put my finger on. He had a certain charisma about him; not the phony kind of charisma that one seen in the car salesman or the philanderer who messes with women’s heads, no, Bob had a kind of friendly smile for everyone that he met, and he seemed to draw people into him with his love, and gigantic heart. I knew as soon as I met him that Bob was most definitely for me.

As Bob looked at me and smiled, the whole world seemed to open up. He said “Ow ya going mate” in a loud ebullient manner, then we started to chat. Bob was like myself, a thinker, and straight away we started philosophizing about this, that, and the other, and it was like we had known each other forever. Then all of a sudden I found Bob talking about death, and the difference in the way the Maori people faced death, compared to the rather the silly way us white folk look at the subject with great fear in our hearts. Now this had always interested me, and somehow it just seemed natural to talk to this Maori gentlemen on this subject, and we spoke about it till the doors opened and it was time to work.

I don’t think anything happens just by chance, and I definitely have this feeling that Bob and I were meant to meet, and I really think this was a major destiny thing. I have found during the course of my life, that as I am aging, I can feel something pushing me into a certain direction, and I always felt that Bob was part of all this; and I had much to learn from him. Although I have never believed in organized religion, and never followed one I have always felt deeply spiritual, and I have met many people who I learned from, and Bob was most definitely one of them with all his great wisdom and patience. As I came to know Bob, we had many dialogues together, on many subjects. Bob used to love music and could always have time to plonk away on his guitar. He used to come round to my place and we would play songs together, though both he and I were no Eric Clapton’s, I would bang around on my guitar and play the harp, while we would both take out turns at singing. We’d have a smoke or a beer or two, and we’d play songs all day long, ahhh, I remember those days well, the memories are so strong.

Bob was one hell of a man, I could tell that he had been a wild one in his youth,
But when I knew him in his sixties he was an icon of wisdom and virtue; he had a kind word for everyone, and gave all his time to anybody who needed him, always.
He used to hear me waffling on like an idiot, trying to make him like me [as I always did] but never once did he tell me how foolish I was, he would just smile knowingly at me. He used to stand there at the window for hours, just drinking in the trees, or the clouds in the sky, and yet he was so aware, I used to try to sneak up on him; it couldn’t be done. His awareness was incredible.

Then one day Bob fell ill with terminal cancer, and he knew that he had very little time left on this Earth. He lay there sick for days in intolerable pain, but you never heard one complaint from him, even when he only had days to live, he was still worrying about the welfare of others. When the day finally come for Bob to leave his shell; he was lying there in deep sleep, when all of a sudden he woke up, with a smile on his face. His children asked him ‘Dad, do you want some pain killers” Bob laughed, compassion written all over his face, and he said to them ‘Not one of you has a clue, have you’ and he died with a big smile on his face.

His daughter got in touch with me, and told me about his death, and also told me that his last wish was to have me watch his soul leave his body. I felt very honored about this and went and sat with his body [as Maoris do]. I got the most peaceful feeling come to me [which I presume was his spirit leaving his body] as I watched his silent body, a Mari war stick and a beautiful rose lay across his chest. I still see it, and I feel blessed by it. He was my Maori warrior, and I adored the man.

My Story Telling Can You Trust Me

Gun fire all around, bombs going off in the distance
It was some of the angry mobs and resistance
Father was the king of SafeHaven a small kingdom
Like all other kingdoms it fell in random
Fire started in the castle
And along with it came a battle

It was a distance memory now because the child has now grew
Many things in this child that made memories stew
My name is Mastrey, a young orphan who was there that night
Mastrey saw her in the distance and her father and mother in his sight
Everyone was loud that night and made all the children hide
But that evening Mastrey saw her mother and father die

She ran into the bushes in such a fright
And evil doers were running around with flashlights
Mastrey remember it as he distracted them
Her eyes was so confused with problems
Mastrey new that it was because of what just occurred
His feelings of what those people did was not awkward

The distraction worked, he went back to were she was
Hiding and very scared she was, he asked her, can you trust me just because?
Her answer that night depended on her lively hood
As Mastrey was their with his hand reaching out to her as he stood
Pulling her up from the ground he looked into her eyes that were SeaBlue
Mastrey had made a life long friend and love, She knew it was true

Somewhere over the rainbow

I had heard this song by an obscure artist, with a twist as it played verses
of 'Somewhere over the rainbow, with 'What a wonderful' world entwined.
It's simply melody strummed on a ukalele mesmerized me as I listened on the radio
in the car.
I remember saying to my wife, "I want this at my funeral." I was morbidly honest
that way.
Several years later, I was watching an episode of E.R. in which our favorite
character, Dr. Green discovers he has brain cancer, and a short time to live. He's
basically given the advice we all wish to avoid. "You don't have long, retire, enjoy
the time you have left."
Dr Green, plans a vacation with his daughter, who's relationship has been strained
since his divorce. For the next three or four episodes Dr. Green and his daughter
spend his last days surfing in Hawaii. Mending the relationship slowly, to a degree
of understanding only a father and daughter could know. He's still Dad, and she's a
teen working on letting go of her resentments.
In the last episode of the story, he's not doing well. He keeps passing out and his
strength is waning. He knows it's only a matter of days, possibly hours; but doesn't
share this with his daughter, the scenary is of a bungalo on the beach, white sands
surround the openness of the primitive bungalo, palm trees speckle the beach, and
in the distance lies the royal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.
A day of surfing is suddenly changed as he suggests that his daughter go ahead of
him, he'll stay back and watch until his strength returns. So he sits in a hammock,
and watches out in the water as she strolls off to surf, Background music grows to
this song I'd so loved, by and artist named Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo?ole and as the
music is playing softly, the camera pans in on the face of Dr. Green for his death
scene, and his last breath. The camera pulls back, from the back of his head, above
the bungalo, above the beach as if we are Dr Green's soul departing this earth.
Yes, I cried like a little school girl as realized that my favorite character had just
been erased from our show, with no chance to come back for a Cameo... What!? of
course that's why I cried! OKAY! it was a tear jerker! and the saddest part, was the
relationship with his daughter was still in repair . Moral of the story i guess-- You
never know when its your time, so don't hold on to petty resentments, and love
every minute of life.

I later learned, Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo?ole; had also died

4 - Messenger from the Dead

Alas there is no more confusion,
finally found my last conclusion.
Expect me as if Jesus will return,
from a ghost to a realm of concern.

Your dreams are portals like doors,
welcoming spirits into hasten wars.
Leaving the thoughts without trust,
keeping your fears in much disgust.

And though you sought no consequence,
deeds that confirm a wicked malevolence.
Awaiting in your nightmare of screams,
enjoy what is left amongst your dreams.

Dialogue of Souls

Best of friends, for countless years,
we had the best of times.
Now as my eyes are filled with tears,
your soul to Heaven climbs.
The path we take, not always clear,
I feel so lost without you here.
Your last words, prophetic now,
“I’ll be home soon”- you knew somehow.
You left me here, I’m so alone,
but I dreamed Heaven had a phone.
We talked all night, you fell asleep,
I held the line to hear you breathe…

The Rain and Wind

The wind blew events all over the place.
Intense emotions and it gave chase.
Lightning lighting to show us the sky.
People try to sleep and not cry.
Wisping by the wind keeps us awake.
The time trying to sleep the storms take.
Chills in everyone gives all shiver.
The clouds surrounded by moonlight is silver.
Heavenly prayers that the rain will stop.
The flood stopped a car the person in it was a cop.
People have seen such devastation.
The road that people made was week in creation.
Rivers near by was over flowing.
Trees that were there was not showing.
By the hour it claimed many.
My father woke up and did not see any.
Floating by was a boat.
Keeping people above water and a float.
My father kept a canoe.
That some day we would use it, that he knew.
Time to paddle up and down the street.
The rain water kept getting on our seat.
It was so dark after the moon was behind the cloud.
Still the noise of thunder still covered the ears loud.
The smell of moist water never seem to go away.
My brothers seem to still sleep anyway.
My head was bobbing up and down.
I was so tired that I could not hear a sound.
The wind blew back and fourth.
It seems that my mom and dad paddle their worth.
Till all the people we saw with grace.
Help us out with embrace.
The time was so late at night.
Everyone was so sleepy and losing sight.
The fight with the weather was so hectic.
The feelings of energy was electric.
Losing to such natural disaster is hard to understand.
When people working hard to block the river with bags of sand.
With hard workers like my mom and dad.
They make things happen that is not bad.
Rough with weather they experience more than ever.
Leaders they are they are very clever.
From the night light of street lights to the morning glow.
The wind did not stop so.
Bringing in more clouds that ill.
The people who were still tired still had will.
The rush of water and waves blasting push the wall side.
Pushing and the force brought water inside.
The battle of our hour was getting long.
Backup people came to aid us was strong.
Rested they were to keep everyone with hope.
The people stopped the water with the strength of rope.
Heavy rain and loss of homes bring people together.
It is kind of sad that this was the only time to gather.
Chaos comes happiness how true.
This is why we are human that gives us a clue.
It is our nature to keep rain falling.
To know when it is time for our calling.
The winds bring such pain and sorrow.
That is why rain sometimes fallow.

A Modern Confession for a Dying Beggar

Die and crave-
Make me not hear your story,
Though I like to see you gaze
By the end of the day.
Tremble when you see me
As though I were a chill
Perhaps I am the soft care-
Taker of your bones.
Should I remember traces
Engraved by your moans,
I shall endorse those bywords
Equating you with me
You think I have to treat you
Indeed, I loathe your mother
I’d rather you were unseen
So that I shed you no tear.
Your father stole my fresh air
And so do you from me now;
Unless you give up breathing
My true blood will be bother’d.
O, please, forgive my true words-
They planned to vex your ego
They gather’d all my reasons
To help you rest in peace.
But, though you shall be tasting
The acrid sweat of my ease,
At least, allow my goodness
To sweat for all old beggars.

Isolation

How can I tell you?
I can't stay with you.

Neither I can give up on you.
Fear of losing you is losing me.
It feels like slow death every night.

But we are just stuck in our spaces!
Unable to connect from two feet distance.

Losing Sight

Why was I given these eyes that hide
Behind this clumsy heart-
Hands and knees forever searching
For an honest soul?
It feels as though we're wringing water
From a dusty rag.
It feels as though we're submerged in longing
Ever drowning in our thirst.

Why was I given these eyes that grope
For another’s warmth,
When love is fired through a gun,
Or taken from a calloused hand;
Sight has cursed my heart to see
The naked spent to dust.

Blindness,
Kiss me with your tasteless lips and I will see no more.
I will not see their tears through mine,
I will not see their laughter;
I will not see their careless words,
Looking dumbly after.
I will not see their hateful glares that only’ve seen hateful eyes.
I will not see their broken ears that never hear my broken cries;
They’ll all be black to me.

Forty Lost

Time moves on,
and soon will tell,
when asked for whom
they ring the bell…
 Forty lived
…and forty lost,
you left before twilight.
When it’s half as much,
at twice the cost,
you’ll bask
in perfect light…
We live in castles
…made of sand,
we come as a stranger,
but leave as a friend…
Remember now,
your last first kiss,
those times will be
profoundly missed…
Your smile indeed
could cast a spell.
You learned to
play a bad hand well…
With all our hopes
and dreams in tow,
we are old too quick,
and wise too slow.
Life’s an elaborate
complex dance...
Would you live again,
if you had the chance?

Jesus Paid It All

Jesus’ death paid it all!
What have you given in return?
His death on the cross…
Was from his love and concern!

His life for yours… On Calvary…
 Has been paid.
His offer of eternal life,
 has been made!

Through God’s word,
 he’s been talking!
And stands at your hearts door…
 patiently knocking!

Won’t you invite him in? As your guest?
Then, your life will be totally blessed!

He can bring health and
 healing to your bones!
He can bring his love to
 your family and home!

“Come unto me.” Is the
  the master’s call.
Won’t you come to him now?
  One and all?

He’s here right now!
 In this very place…
And extends to you his
mercy and grace.

Won’t you accept him today?
He loves you more than words can say!

When You Get There

Well....... Here we are , we have finally reached that day,
When you and I would finally be parting our ways ,
I believe little brother it has come way to soon ,
Aways thought it would be me and it turned out to be you.
This is something that we could have nevber known,
Just never doubted it would be me that was first to go.
Forget all your troubles and all the reason's why ,
And all the times we had when you were alive.
Saying our goodbyes for the very last time ,
Makes it hard for me to hold back the tears in my eyes.
Soar with the wings that were made from your Dreams,
Say goodbye to your worries and troubles just enjoy being.
When you get there open your eyes will you please,
And when you get there will you hug Mama for me.
My thoughts will be with you for the rest of my days,
I will always stand tall please hear what I say .
  When you get there.

In My Community

Our Ancestors fought to the death,
Just so we can live a brighter day,
So before you light up that blunt of meth,
Think about what you’re giving away,
It was a glad day in history when Obama rose to victory,
The first black president was all we knew,
Dark skin is in!
Haven’t you heard?
That even in our community,
You can get burned,
It’s a sad day when people would rather stay home and “Crank That Amber Cole”,
Than get up and run to a poll,
In our community,
Rockin’ Luis V is better than having a college degree,
And teen pregnancy is not only a trend,
But the single motherhood that follows should end,
Young girls learn of a wonderful prince to take them away,
Nothing should change thought their mothers prince didn’t stay,
And as the tears fade away,
She grows stronger every day,
In our community,
Fighting is no longer a word,
You argue with someone and shots are heard,
Girls showing places the sun don’t show,
So how do they expect the community to grow?
Where love is a figment of imagination,
Making a young child question her creation,
Young mothers would rather buy the iPhone 5,
Then satisfy her baby’s cries,
While her new man’s eye,
Wander up another girl’s thighs,
In our community,
Where #team dark skin vs #team light skin,
Makes others not love the skin they’re in,
Love, lust, hate, and trust,
Giving a rose on Valentine’s Day is no longer a must,
Where bad is good and good is bad,
Who would think to see their grandmother sad?
Her hurt and pain,
Shows how our community has lost everything her parents fought to gain.

HELP HER UP

written 2nd Aug 2013

This life is not as it should be
pick up your wife, can't you see

You're her husband, stand up!
give her a reason, to again believe

She means 'everything'....to this family
shutting the door leaving her totally... Alone

Do you actually know her at all...
damaging her heart and soul, deep within it's cold

Loneliness consumes her, it's been so long
it must be asked...do you still love her?

Are you willing to help her to her feet again?
or shall you sit back and watch, as she see's the end

This is completely left for only you, her husband to declare
how much does she really mean to you...do you still care?

Will you step up, or let her rot into total depression, you see it...
Love and care, or death and dispirit

It's all up to you!
Her loving husband, what will you do.....

The Fire

Like all things that appear innocent, fire is in the pit of all.
Like a the clear sky before the rain fall, Like a rainbow after the storm
Our love was pure but the fire raged inside.
Was it just lust or were we in love
no one could of save both of us, Indestructible is what we thought we were but our weaknesses got the best. As we burned and burned with out the might to stop the death that was awaiting us.
What we thought to be happy was actually the manic of our affair. The memories will remain until we have the strength to detain, detain ourselves from each other, We may not have the strength to destroy what made us but we can stop this torture that we create
… Glass shatters just as our hearts when we walked away, when we walked away from all we thought was Important all we fought for. The fight was long and hard but even we couldn't save each other it was destine we were bound to be destroyed
Like a fire when everything burns to the ground,When all is thought to be lost
we have to find hope without the weight of our destruction haunting us
like a wild fire out control that exactly how we were
it was our fate for our candle to burn out
to burn the memories that might remain to burn all that attaches us to one another like a fire we had to move on and still have hope that one day even with out each other we would be happy just maybe we could happy without each other one day, and just like a fire we were no more we had to burn before we created death and let others mourn..

Jesus Paid the Sacrifice

Jesus Paid The Sacrifice! Jesus sacrificed his life for you and me! So we can be with him for all eternity! His life for ours… a ransom was paid IN FULL, This is why I I love HIM so! Upon his head were placed the crown of thorns, Enduring so much shame and scorn. The blood from his body as it began to flow! The pain inside his body, Began to grow! The nails placed in his feet and hands, The pain he went through is hard to understand. His life for ours, is what he gave! His life for ours… Is what he did trade! By Jim Pemberton

If I die before I wake

As I die he will be with me,
I fell in love he had the key,
And always knelt on one knee.

My last thoughts are of him,
As the lights go dim,
Life circling on a rim.

All at once we are apart,
The taste is so tart,
It all hits me in the heart.

You are left to live,
My heart your captive,
There is nothing to forgive.

My cheeks blush so shy,
With a tear in my eye,
As I start to die.

Fear not for I am well,
As many up here can tell,
It is not quite hell.

As I look from above,
kissing the forehead of my love,
I wonder what he dreams of.

I look at him so fondly,
his lips curve so grandly,
as he sleeps so soundly.

I'm like a hummingbird fluttering over his bed,
I wish to be with him but I am dead,
My life over and has fled.

I fear for my love for he is kind,
Strong handsome and well lined,
But now I leave him way behind.

Finding love is like a quiz,
Never knowing what it is,
He needs love from a heart as strong as his.

I Hope You Know I'll Always Love You

I am what you call a hopeless
romantic,
But im also a lost lovers cause, my
heart belongs to another
Yet in my head a love triangle starts
to form, the girl I love doesn’t love
me
She holds the heart to another and
mine caged to the floor,
She isn’t afraid to fight for what she
wants, not even when it comes to
leaving another man torn
Trust me she’s happy, as that boy
holds her heart ever so close
Seeing what I shouldn’t I smile as I
wear my blind fold,
Blind to everything around, lifeless
staring into air
My train of thought running so fast,
the second I stop you’ll hear a crash
Derailing my hope, for ever finding a
love so pure & rare
Wishing I could hold the hand of the
lover who stole my flame,
Wish I could change the last days in
which we parted ways,
Realizing now that we can never be
the same
Finally saying it out loud as tears run
down my face
You stole my happiness, as I walked
away that day
But it’s because as of what you said
I guessed I changed,
Now every relationship has just be
the same,
No one can seem to bring back that
flame,
Because a love likes ours comes
once in a lifetime
Well at least it does to me,
But I mean you’re happy with who
your with
I mean I only wrote this as I heard
exchanging “I love you” flow from
each of your lips.

Who Will Water My Plants

Who Will Water My Plants

I swore by the rare LEO moon -
well lighted above.
That I would never falter
in our marriage of love.

I swore by all that's good and right, that
I would be the perfect wife.

I told myself and a million stars;
It would be best to cover up the scars.

If I were to only tow the line
I could keep the matter
under my mind.
So sure that your temper
would settle down.

When our children be grown and gone
and finally living on their own.

The inner-voice you have inside
I hoped to your GOD
conscience, it would chide.
Awaking yet your virtuous side.

I should had left when
the children had gone,
After that you
barely came home.

ALONE with my wounds,
computer,and plants.
You allowed me no friends,
never filed a complaint
no records were kept.
Under the carpet
my abuse had been swept.

One night he came,
could not find
his good shoes
which he kept
under our bed.
He then,threw a glass,
and it just missed my head.

The fury in his eyes,
said that I was to die.
When the smoke cleared,
it was he that lay dead.

Being alone, I had secured protection
"Who will water my plants if I die"
"I thought "
"I fired a shot in his direction.

I could not reply
When the officer
asked me "WHY"-
I could not explain
the tears and the pain
"Who will water my plants"
was my only cry.
"Who will water my plants "
I did sigh..

Explanation,of no use-
from years of
silencing abuse.
Why I stayed
I never knew.!

Love had ended,ended too soon.
I had promised that Leo moon.

As I had no rant-
All I could say
as they led me away...

Was... "Who will water my plants " ?

Life's Wholeness

Life and a living being
can never be separated
See one and you see
the other
Destroy one and you destroy
the other
Pluck a flower from a tree
and dissect it
to understand it
You no longer have that flower
as it existed
on the tree
You may have an understanding
of the relationship
between the components
of a dead flower
but you will have forever lost
the totality of the experience
of the LIVING flower
To see the flower in
its completeness
BECOME THE FLOWER
and understand a reality
that can only be experienced
but can never be put into words
for the whole is more than
the sum of its parts

A twilight melody

Roar of the wind racing in a seeming halt.
A sudden rainstorm it is.
A salutation farewell to a mournful of two hearts,
Which formerly fused with love and cherish.

All the trees shed their leaves.
As they feel canticles of the broken hearted.
Sing delighted now is the devil,
For he sees another soul to seduced.

Shortly afterward in time to come,
There were a lover lying lifeless.
Covered with the golden leaves of ferns.
An evening, with poems and songs and death.

Hospice

Her hands shook
as they wheeled
him away.
Had his lips
been dry?
Had his body
ached?
Had he longed
for a touch
against his
fragile skin?
Could she
have done more
to relieve
his pain?
Could she
have loved him more,
needed him more,
begged him more
to stay?
Her head swam
in the deafening silence
of guilt and sorrow
as she
buried herself
for feeling
relief.

I May Not Be Here Tomorrow

I May Not Be Here Tomorrow!

When tomorrow comes, I may not be here!
This life I have… Could just disappear!

I may think of this world as my “sanctuary.”
But my life down here, is just temporary!

Life just passes me by, and goes by fast!
I can think of many things done in the past!

But the past is gone by…
  Tomorrow’s another day!
What am I going to do?
What am I going to say?

I don’t know about the future,
 or what it may bring.
Life has it’s way of bringing
good and bad things!

I’m going to look to Jesus and give him my trust!
Living daily for him...
I shall try! I must!

Jesus holds tomorrow in the palm of his hand!
Everything about me... He already understands!

HE shall be here tomorrow! Till the very end!
He’s somebody I can give my life to! And depend!

I come to you Jesus! For comfort and delight!
I know that with you, everything will be alright!

Life may not turn out the way
 I expect it to be!
But Jesus will take care of it all!
 Most assuredly!

Dying with a Smile

Love is an unspoken form of maschism
And it's slowly killing me inside.
Each minute of silence
A lost beat of my heart.
My ribs are all knives now
Stabbing my flesh and making it bleed.
My heart feels vast, hollow
Cold,
Like a hundred story skyscraper-
its residents packed up and left suddenly with out so much as a note on the door
And their rent unpaid.
And each day my skin screams and tries to escape my body and I saw at it with broken glass in an attempt to set it free but I can't.
I am trapped.

And our love is the five ton anchor pulling me beneath the waves.
Our love is the air bubbles frothing from my mouth and the cries of my lungs as they are
filled with the sea.

And our love is the smile on my face that doesn't dare fade despite the pain.

Our love is the hope that soon
I won't need to breathe.
That the chains will break and set me free
To wash ashore with the millions of others and watch them stand up and brush the sand from their hair and turn to bask in the sun's embrace.

Our love is what breaks my legs, keeps my back to the sun and my eyes locked on the dark waters in the hopes that you will emerge and grasp my hand and help me stand!

Our love will starve me
And burn me
And deprive me of sleep.
I will die for our love before I leave this shore without you by my side.
And maybe,
Just maybe,k
I can smile for once without the pain.

The Rebel

Dank, cold, unperturbed indifference,
Untouchable, yet touching all,
Unresolved in meaning,
Still creating each and every fall,
Every whim and leaning.

Touché pas! A cry of weary hate,
And will not accept a helping hand,
‘Till death! Brazen adverse in face of fate,
And alone in piteous stand…

Lone wolf we cry, thy fate is nigh,
Yet stands he still resisting,
That love should die, that only tie,
In error still persisting…

Bon Voyage

tattered, yellow napkin
softly settles into the murky lake
as it absorbs it's last spill
our names in gold, still legible

this ring, never fit, seldom worn
"I love you" etched innermost
I know you do, I just couldn't say it much
now I can, but you don't hear

it's cold out, especially on the water
our favorite time, autumn's change upon us
our old craft, tattered sail I told you I'd fix
before your birthday that never came

now why bother, It's the final voyage
a muted splash as the ring follows
and I sit, shivering silently in the blue dusk
the cold urn between my knees

now raised, and poured
a cloud of dust, your earthly remnants
ashes to ashes to water to earth
our dreams unlived, dissolved like you

in the muddy waters we once loved
nothing left for me: no us, no time
I follow your lead, but not softly, not muted
a last gulp and it's really not bad

Sinking, thinking, wishing
watching our boat bobbing beneath
silence is screaming, I gasp
I'm warmed as I see your smile.

There's A Healing Jesus

There’s a healing Jesus!
He’s alive today!
He’s here now! And can take
 all sickness away!

There’s a loving Jesus!
He can cleanse your soul!
He is more faithful, than
you will every know!

There’s a merciful Jesus!
He can change you within!
By his blood, you can know
you’re born again!

There’s a powerful Jesus!
 He alone reigns supreme!
He’s the alpha and omega!
And can do anything!

There’s a gracious Jesus!
 He’s so loving and kind!
His dedication to us all,
has stood the test of time!

Won’t you come to Jesus!
 And receive him too?
He’s knocking at your heart’s door…
Waiting for YOU!

Won’t you experience Jesus!
And all he has to give!
He can make you a new person!
Each day that you live!

Never Take Hate Outside

When you're hurt inside,
And there's no where to hide,
And there's no one on your side,
And it's killing your pride,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,

When your heart is chocking,
The heavy words never spoken,
The things that hurt you inside,
When love has died,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,

When your heart is gone,
From being alone,
And it beats a solemn tone,

When you're cold inside,
It's only a short ride,
Never take hate outside

Beloved Friend I Have Fallen

An angel, cradles me, in her motherly arms
I have fallen, I am venerable
I told myself, I would not do this, no more
I have failed to keep my promise, to you
I have not stayed true
Tears flowing, as I smile, just, for you!
Remembering the times, when you cupped my face, in your hands
Your blue eyes, gazing into mine
Telling me with sincerity
‘I am the sunshine, that lights up your world, each day that dawns’
My heart aches, it rains with love, having fond memories of us
Wash me clean, being human, is challenging me!
Emotional bondage, creating blocks
I need to move on, you are dead and buried
Your time here, over
My heart struggling, accepting this reality
“Forgive me”
I pray to be free!
“I Love you, my beloved, friend”

High Noon for Ruth

It came to pass that in Bethlehem, Judah
God sent a famine with problems most severe.
Mother Naomi and her three men maneuver
to strike out in sync, to leave their home sphere.
Death by starvation was, of course, their main fear.

It came to pass that in Moab, fate won their heart.
Naomi’s two sons took on wives fairly soon.
But, Death by disease broke this family apart;
all three husbands were struck by its sudden harpoon.
One young wife named Ruth had met her high noon.

It came to pass that three women in limbo
made the choice of their lives, likely unhurried.
Our hero, Ruth, the poet, put things in tempo -
“Entreat me not to leave you,” Ruth was worried
for Naomi. “Where you die, I will be buried.”

It has come to pass that over time, well-known phrase,
“Entreat me not to leave you,” which Ruth composed
has become a mantra for those put face to face.
May it never lose the proviso Ruth proposed -
“Your God, my God!” a standard upheld, unopposed.

Cant hear the murmur any more

 A thousand sounds a day I know
Only I can not hear it if they show

 The gaining of quiet stance
Bitter sweet the silence

I could just not hear you anymore
I understand you sounds to my core

 Found myself straining to listen
Only to hear a blank shot angrily hasten

When we come to sound out loud
This is when I can face this crowd

 Till then---

Sounds to me I'm deaf

From the heart of society

Theres a girl
she pours out her heart
gives him everything
changes her hair goes to get
fat sucked out of her cause no
one tells her that she really is
beautiful she goes home to see him in bed
kissing another girl, then get up and smack her around
people ask where she got her brusies and why she hides her face
but behinde that mask hideing her scars is a girl fearing for her life
scared to go home to that man that just might give her more scars.
Theres a guy
who takes care of his brother
comes home and covers his brothers ears
while his mommy and daddy make him fear
fear for his life his mom brings home different guys
every night, daddy is never home but when he is
they fear for there life that just maybe that might be the last day
the last breath they live to take
Next day he comes home and sees mommy on the floor bleedin
his little brother tied to the bed stabed in he chest
he tries to run but trips and falls
three week later the found him floating down the river..
These are the people we ignore every day
the ones that cry out for help
the ones that need us the most..
The ones that are pimped out and dont see there beauty
the ones that hide the scars that the one they love put on there face
This is our world and society today

Haunted

I was blinded, I was fooled.
I thought what we had was real...
Your sweet words of kindness swept me off my feet.
Your dark eyes that once gave me comfort, now are forever mocking me.
Your arms that wrapped around me, now wrap around my throat.
Your hands once so fragile, now are demonic as they clasp tighter and tighter.
Our eyes and bodies are locked together,
One gasping for breath...
The other praying for my death...
Darkness oozes from you mouth,
Slicing my skin, as my blood begins to pour.
Is this what you wanted?
For now, I lay unconcious...
And forever, will I haunt you.

Creation, Curse and Promise

Since eternity past God the Father Son & Holy Spirit dwelled in unity and sweet fellowship.
Then Three-In-One decided to make a marvelous universe with an earth for life to dwell.
Creating an amazing array of creatures was the easy part – the risk was on the last made.
For unlike other creatures, man & woman were made in God's likeness with a Spirit.

That Spirit communicated with God, and harmony reigned as earth was well cared for.
Freedom to do was great – limited by but one tree that the humans were not to ear from.
At that tree, Satan disguised himself as an innocent snake and asked the woman questions.
Did God really say don't eat from this tree? Well, that's to keep you from becoming like Him.

Look its fruit is beautiful and one bite and you'll know what God does and be Jehovah's equal.
Eve was confused, for this didn't sound like what Adam said God told her, but wouldn't it be grand.
If God is so good, why would he keep this secret from us of being able to be like Him – is He jealous?
The firm, juicy fruit was indeed delicious, and she quickly called Adam to taste, which soon he did.

A small act? Every war, family problem, anger, hatred, lie, killing, stealing, rape, abuse came herefrom.
The beauty of God's creation was now marred with sin that affected every part with death and decay.
God graciously gave Adam & Eve animal skins for no longer would they live in Eden's perfect climate.
From now on there would be sweat for the food they ate and exceedingly great pain during childbirth.
Even their firstborn would murder their second, starting the cycle of revenge and killing that's ongoing.

Yet God also made a promise that one would come who would crush Satan's head while being bruised.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God" clues us in to who.
For God's Son Himself would come to teach, heal and offer His life on a Cross to destroy our death curse.
Our sins He would bear and in rising He's seal the promise of eternal life, so great we Jesus' love for us.

For Jesus the cost was unbelievably high, and for us the reward is incredibly great – if we but accept.
Accept that I am a sinner, I've done wrong and need God's forgiveness to live with His perfection.
Accept that Jesus can do what I cannot – change my heart, make my Spirit alive to forever live with God.
This being GOD, the promise of heaven and new earth is sure, though pain lies in between. Choose now.

For GOD and all creation cry out – this is what life is meant for – to know and love One's Maker.
As humans we live eternally with or apart from God, and His great desire is that we choose with.
But just as an earthly Father cannot force true love, nor does our Heavenly Father – He waits.
Though He made all and knows beginning from end, he waits and yearns that we receive His love.

Then love and be loved by Jesus in life's harshness & delight, sharing that love with other lost children
To work in harmony with the One who made us, makes life new again as our spirit is filled with new life.
There can be dry days when we don't feel His presence, and others so full that we want to shout for joy.
The fact is Our Father GOD, our Savior Jesus, the Holy Spirit, are always with us and never will leave us. Amen.

I Want to Be Where Jesus Is

I Want to Be Where Jesus Is!

Where Jesus is,
I want to be with him
I’ll honor HIM because
I love him!

Into his direction
 I shall go…
His word in my life,
 I must daily know.

What he says to me,
 I must carefully listen,
His will for my life,
I don’t want to be missin’.

His love for me…
I want to receive,
His abundant life is what
 I aim to achieve.

Thank you Jesus for
helping me to see…
I need much more of you,
and a lot less of me!

It's Not Your Fault

The thing about life
is that
it can end in an instant

When the rope of the
harsh words
wraps tightly around your

Neck squeezing tighter
and tighter
you just want to jump

To end it all to end all
the pain
and the hatred and words

It is not only the words
that push
you over the edge

It is too the fists and
the feet
that slam into you

Over and over
without
a break with out letting up

Making you break down and slide down
the wall
and cry and cry and cry

One phone call can
save a
live, stopping that jump

Stopping the self hate
and
spreading the love

The love i have for
you will
never fade or die and i hope

will make you better
to sleep
and to be able to be

Happy again to
be happy
forever and always with me

just remember and know
that it's
NOT YOUR FAULT

Black Widow

1 through the door
2 through your heart
3 through your head
4 colors in my eyes
Red, red, red

1 clash
2 rings
3 words
4 sirens
Shrieks of red, red, red

1 bed of white
2 saviors
3 men at my side
4 grievers
Tears of red, red, red

1 room of rock
2 rings around my wrist
3 eyes in my head
4 days before forever
Stains of red, red, red

1 room
2 sides
3 on one
4 on the other
Crying out red, red, red

1 decision
2 stabs of pain in my side
3 cries
4 smiles
The judge says red, red, red

1 boy
2 people
3 arguments
4 solutions
Mine was red, red, red

Enigmatic Lane

Enigmatic Lane

This enigmatic lane-
I’ve walked long.
And now I see
Only barren lands,
A mere setting sun,
And a vague horizon.

I turn to look back
Along this enigmatic lane.
And then I see
Those umpteen vicissitudes,
Those sudden meanders,
Those familiar turns,
Those abrupt detours.

Down this enigmatic lane,
There have been
Many a rich meadows,
Many a bleak wastelands,
Millions of pompous marches,
Millions of disconcerting dirges,
Several comforts of love,
Several cruelties of reclusion.

Along this enigmatic lane
I may no longer tread, for-
As I now halt, I ponder-
Perpetuation has always been
The ruse of fleeting phases,
And what worth has it been
To walk this enigmatic lane.

Disconnection

I'm…
so tired of my heart
breaking

I'm …
so tired of my hands
shaking

I'm so tired of my mind
racing

I'm through pacifying
my disconnection

Do I only love you for who you used to be?
When you said you'd wait for all eternity?
Did you drink away every memory of me?
How am I not everything you’ll ever need?!

I've had to sit down and write this
to tell you the words i can't speak
When I'm around you now i feel weak
I'm drowning in my disconnection

Where did he go??
You are not the soul I used to know
Where did your memories go?!

Why has the meaning disappeared…
So suddenly
Now I realize I should too

You act like you remember nothing
I can tell that’s what I mean to you
After all I’ve done for you
All I want is to be emotionless too

In the end I guess it’s what I love the most about you…..
Your disconnection.

It Happen

Can believe it happen never thought it would
All the stuff we been through
Thought we would be together forever
But you was not there even through our loss you were nowhere to be found
I went through it by myself
I went through depression because of our lost love and child
I am so tired of going up and down around and around
Our relationship was a full speed roller coaster
Always thought we would beat the odds
Never thought our relationship would lead me to so much pain and tears
You left me thinking if you ever had any real feelings for me
I hope you would come back but you never did
I felt lost without you
Never thought you had it in your heart to be so cruel to us
I finally had to get it in my foolish head that you were gone forever

Friend

Friend where are you?
are we playing
Hide and seek?
did you drown?
there’s no sea.
You’re close
I can here
You breath.
So close there’s a heartbeat.
Shadows
In the mirror
Friend, is that you
I screamed!
There you are
I reached out
To touch you
But it was only
A reflection
A reflection of me.

Untitled

How could something this poisonous be so taunting.
How could something so evil be so evoking.
Drown the battle that I once faced.
Leave it behind.
Passed storms has come and ruined this mind.
Shackled by theses memories
Engraved in my soul to the very core. I can’t move.
Pain so severed. Sanity has taken its toll.
Shattered by the pieces. Shredded to the bone.
For I have become obsolete.

How Do I Let You Go

What will be
Will be!
I know of this, first hand
Your life was taken away
So abruptly!
I will
Never forget
That day!
Till the day
My body dies
And
I am with you, again!

“How was I to prepare myself?”
With
That kind of
Life changing, event!
You
Didn't warn me
You
Were permanently leaving!
I hope
You know
How much “I love you”
Know
You will never be forgotten!

I don’t know
What
Has got into me!
Consciously
I feel you
Inside me
I see images
Of your face
So clearly!
Am I crazy
To believe in this, my love?

“Are you still with me?”
“Is my imagination
Playing cruel tricks
Running rampant
As
I talk with you
As if
You were by my side, right now

In my heart and mind
Your face etched
Imprinted
Like a blue print
That never fades
Your foot prints
Still remain, beside me
My heart beats
Eternally
Trying to make sense of everything!

Forgive me, my love
For being so strong in my feeling
For it has been a long time
Since I lost you, my friend
Something
I haven’t
Quite
Got over!

My heart
Having
A mind of its own
Aching
To be with you, still!
To see you
To smell you
To touch you
To taste you
One
Last time!

I want to say “Goodbye”
Once and for all!
As
We have
Brought out
The best and worst
In each other
Rivers run deep
When it comes to you and me!

We have had our fair share of fights and arguments
Stubborn disagreements
All of them
Meaningless
Now
You cease to exist!

I miss your lingering touches
Your hand, stroking my face
Your big, blue eyes
Looking into mine
Your warm lips
Your rough, unshaven face
The way you
Passionately
Kiss me
While
We make love, till dawn

I miss
All those nights
You kept me
Safe and warm!
I miss
Your
Loving embrace
I miss
Your
Reassurance!
“Am I ever going to feel the same, with another?”
Just
As
I felt
In your arms, my love?

How
Do I let you go?
How
Do I set myself, free?
I am ready
To love, again!
With
‘Our eternal love’
Supporting
And
Guiding me
Especially
In times, like these!

Jesus Died for Everyone

Jesus Died For Everyone! Jesus died on the cross for you me! So we can be with him throughout eternity. His life for ours… A ransom was paid IN FULL! Through his shed blood, we’re made whole! Upon his head were placed the crown of thorns. Enduring so much ridicule and scorn. The blood from his body as it began to flow. His love for mankind clearly showed! Nails were placed through his feet and hands! The pain he went through, is hard to understand. His life for ours, is what he gave! A way to eternal life, in heaven, has been made! By Jim Pemberton

Tale Of Lovers True

How did it start he didn’t know
But what this was won’t let him go
He prays for death so this will end
What was the wound which he must sew

He just had coffee with a friend
A quaint old shop just down the bend
They shared a cup of troubled brew
So troubled heart could freely rend

He heard a tale of lovers true
A tale which sadly now is through
Friend’s wife was having an affair
A fact that he already knew

What his poor friend was unaware
Was he who held her favored stare
Seeing friend’s pain brought thoughts profound
And as friend left he just sat there

Then from outside came awful sound
A screeching car had target found
He dropped regrets to rush outside
And found his friend there on the ground

And there amid the blood’s red tide
He fell to deed with anguish cried
And there began the endless flow
As one man lived another died

Detour

Road construction ahead. Another pending relationship. Potentially harmless. A fly stuck to the windshield. Its smashed body meaning as much as the life it once had. Just past the corpse the sign comes into view: "Detour" The break up begins. No apologies, no explanations. Just maybe the wind.. it passes, taking no sides. Beyond the sign is a graveyard, holding silence. Holding the hands on a clock. Holding back all but that wind.

Another time, another space
How, do I bring you back home?

FATHER

Father, is it wistful, the thought, to be born a tree…
My pennant a bark of strength, beauty, and serenity!
To plant my feet beneath Thy sacred earthen ground
And guard thy torment without a sound.
With a message of brotherhood written on my leaves,
For all humanity, broadcast to the breeze
And the seeds of peace cast the sea
Sap wars of man; deliver true victory!
Then to depart this world from which I sprout
Begetting a dozen seedlings –hear them shout?
Their heritage of Father, their respect for Thee,
Through branches of wisdom as if to please;
Thy thoughts, Thy dreams, Thy future’s hope
That now lie dormant, buried in the slope
From which they sprung with vigor and pride,
Two Thousand Years before I died.
How wonderful it would truly be,
If You had ordained me an oaken tree?!

hollow on the inside
my dreams in my head
my thoughts on the outside
gone from reality
lost from existince
my dreams so warm
my thought's are worn
from what reality has ripped and torn
my future my world
my life my passion
ripped from you
what did i do?
neither of you
will see this threw
my baby i wish this wasnt true.
taken for granted
smiles and little thoughts
no one gave you anything
but pain before this world.
i wish you could have breathed
i wish you could have loved
but maybe
the same would happen to you
ill take the blame
ill take the sin
your still alive
but not of this world.

That Day Christ Bled And Died

T
That Day Christ Bled and Died… I think about that day, Christ bled and died. And think about that day he was crucified! I think about the thorns placed upon his head. And think about the wounds that bled! I think about how he endured so much shame. For you and I, he took our sin and shame! I think about how an innocent man could do this? Our home in heaven, he didn’t want us to miss! I think about 3 days later, he arose from the grave! A way for salvation, has now been made! Hallelujah to Christ! God’s risen and holy son! Eternal life can be ours! The victory’s been won! Thanks be to Jesus! For being the sacrifice for sin! Because of his shed blood… We can be born again! Glory to God in the highest! How mighty is he! Because of Jesus! We can be set FREE! By Jim Pemberton

Spring is Coming

The summer days are long gone,
the sun hidden behind dark clouds.
My heart has been iced over,
pain and sorrow frozen inside me,
time stopping, dying in the ground.
Barren, colorless earth waits hopefully
for the sweet promise of spring.
Encased, preserved from the winds,
feeling utterly nothing in the snow.

Yet on day, the sun will return,
and the frailest plant will peek through.
What died in the bitter winter
will be reborn, redeemed, renewed,
revived for a purpose now unseen.
So for now, I will wait here in the ground.

Once Here Now Dead

Once here
Now dead & gone
“What am I known for, this time round?”
I exist only as a memory now
A memory that fades, over time
“Who will remember me, when I am gone?”

No one knew me
Yet people will say they knew me, so well!
A laugh, how often people think “they are experts”
Yet, really
Know nothing at all!

“How well did you know the inside of me?”
For, if I was to ask...
“What is my favourite colour?”
Or, “what’s my favourite song?”
I listen for answers...none come

“What’s my favourite food to eat?”
Complete silence...
I could hear a pin drop
Round...about...now!
“Do these questions fall upon deaf ears?”
For I ask...

“Who truly knew me?”
“What am I known for?”
“Who will remember me?”
When I am dead & gone

Very Soon I'll Be WITH JESUS

Very Soon, I’ll Be With Jesus! I know my life on earth shall one day end… This body will turn back into dust again. I hope that in my life’s remaining days… I’ll be careful to give God glory and praise! I hope that with the opportunities given… I’ll walk in the joy of my sins being forgiven! I’m thankful that Jesus has shown to me… How much he really cares and loves me! If not for Jesus… Where I would be? He offered his body as a sacrifice for me! Because of what he’s done, I’m living today! He’ll be with me! Till the end of the way! When my life closes, and a new life begins… I’ll be with my savior, lord and friend! Thank you Jesus! As a new day starts! You’ve brought love and joy to my heart! By Jim Pemberton

Fracta Anima

Maybe instead of life
Maybe I’m the joke.
Maybe I stopped mattering,
So why does this matter?

The shattered pain in my eyes,
Mirrors that reflect only you.
Do you see the cracked smile;
Your laughter is a dagger to my soul.

The frustration is a merry-go-round;
I might fall off and die.
The pain is rotten, a corpse
Twisted all around my heart.

Tears are uncountable, endless
Crying at night but still more.
Oh, the despair in my soul!
I long only for joy, please,
Is that just too much to ask?

Those beautiful dreams are ruined,
Why on earth were they given?
Was it all my fault or maybe
No one’s fault, just life,
The joke that is me.

The cuts will scar, as always
Yet can’t you see them,
Or maybe you refuse to.
The outside cuts are nothing
Compared to my heart, ruined,
Destroyed by far too many hopes.

My trust, shattered like glass
And lying in the wasteland,
My bitter tears are the oasis.

Tired, yet no sleep is found here,
So many questions in my mind,
My heart can’t ask you again.

I’m sorry, oh the mistakes made,
And there will be so many more.

I am hollow, a container of sorrow,
Of lifeless, wingless dreams, so frail.
The hot fire mixes with it,
The anger that is me and my mind,
Questioning, screaming and so unhappy.

Delusions are my safe, happy place;
I only wanted love.

Ashtray

This world is our molten ashtray,
Revolving life, its stained glass grey
                                From passionate years, burnt away

Like shedding loose skin, smothered in
Smoking hordes by fresh flaming sin,
                                Yellowed fingers, where to begin?

Shredded leaves blaze under dry moon,
Clarity calls and leaves next noon,
Too close, yet too much, and too soon...

THE CRIME

(for Neil)

I wonder if you remember,
the dog you killed that day
on the way back from the Stony Rises?

You were driving, talking about
yourself, I think,
or maybe you were singing along
to some song on the radio.

Up ahead, the boy on a bicycle
pedaled against the wind,
dog by his side.

It happened so quickly,
you were driving so fast
you nearly didn’t stop,
thinking, hoping, perhaps,
that you’d only imagined it.

When we backed up the boy was
on his knees, hands hovering over
the dead animal.

"Sorry about that, mate,"
was all you could say.

Fighting back tears and disbelief
the boy looked up:

"Oh, that’s all right," he said.

The Onyx Bird

The saddest thing I ever saw
Lay splattered on the floor
An onyx bird with feathers sprawled
I hoped he’d made heaven’s door.

Although his mangled body lay
Lifelessly on sad display.
Those who passed didn’t seem dismayed
But on the road he lay that day

His eyes had lost all their light
With his ability for flight.
And now he rests in god's great might
But still it is a saddened sight.

Do believe me when I say
That was not the tragic part.

Because faithfully at his side
There was a mournful chide,
While ruby blood stains dried.
Another onyx bird will bide.

Forevermore she’ll always long
For his beautiful melodic song.
Until in heaven where they belong
Both the onyx birds may soar like one.

Waiting There

Waiting There
© Ben Burton 1-09-2014

We spent forever seizing days
At night we'd rest in sweet embrace
Too soon, the years had slipped away
Last Autumn brought our last goodbye
I looked at her through tear-filled eyes
She held my hand and somehow smiled
And thanked me for the memories
I nodded, but I couldn't speak
She drifted toward infinity
Without her here, I'm so much less
There's pain within each hollow breath
I hear my voice call out to death
Prepared to fling myself below
That fatal leap's my only hope
Though not if it destroys my soul
Yet, some say souls are merely myth
That after death no trace exists
But I could feel hers in her kiss
In every word, expression, deed
And when she died, I felt it leave
That it be myth, I can't conceive
I'll find a way to get through life
Trust the Divine with my demise
And think of her most of the time
Remembering her face so fair
Her tender touch and loving stare
I trust we'll meet again out there
Dear God, she must be waiting there

Dying next to a whippoorwill

As he lay waiting, Madeline sat to take his hand in hers

contrition caught hold, their eyes , a brief moment

to once strong hands gone feeble and disfigured

" I do not know when or where it is, we'll catch up again, Madeline "

his listless voice hissed out of him like air from a balloon.

" Oh Jesus" he uttered softly, as if he couldn't touch a prelude, fit enough for an angel. ."How can I thank you enough for three marvelous children?"

His look of compassion , both clouded and solemn, swelled with morose, for lacking in verbosity to all the things, he will leave unsaid, to which he was grateful for.

" I love you Madeline, I'm so sorry. " his words choked back apologetically, his visage,

echoing a sad countenance that creased the bridge of his wrinkled brow even more.

Though his time was running out of time now.

A soft feathered rain ushered to his window, a whippoorwill, to once again call out the forsaken dreams of the dying, to be carried on through generations to come.

Madeline watched, as his last dying breath fell from him and she took witness to him leaving, from the many things in the room he had once touched. Perhaps the celestial journey we must take, when the body can no longer be cared for.

The sweet mournful rain, a chaste white dove beneath a whippoorwill's call

Madeline leans forward with her palm to quiet the light in her man's eyes

that shout both his condemnation to all things undone

and all a king's castles burning.

A Missed Poem

He didn't think it really mattered
Every time he beat and battered
His new wife with no regret
She was weak and had to let
Him get away with this abuse
Running away was no use
He had spies in every place
Every time they saw her face
He would drag her back again
It didn't matter where or when
Burns and bruises being hidden
And bite marks where she was bitten
Every minute so afraid
Another scar would soon be made
Shaking with a lonely quiver
When he's near she would shiver
From the coldness in his heart
Bringing another bad shot
To her fragile beaten bones
Praying he'd leave her alone
As this torture ends one day
And she soon passes away
From the final blow that hits
And a light is finally lit
That's a more peaceful existence
No more hurting or resistance

Hell's Door

There was a time when I knocked at Hell’s door
Didn’t think nothing about it just walked through and explored
Was introduced to a lot, saw a lot of people with smiling faces
I walked by them, they whispered behind my back but remained nameless
I saw a friend of mine that I remembered at one time she had nothing
I gave her opportunity and love and a chance, and I was face to face with her she must have forgotten because she started fronting
Kept on walking until I ran into this dude I once knew, we talked for a while until his lies started to sound like truth
The longer I walked the more I saw, I was beginning to compare it to this life, but I wasn’t surprised at all
I ran into my best friend WAIT!? Why was she here? She knew all my secrets she is my heart I can’t believe this, I was overcome by a sudden fear
When we was in conversation nothing change it seem like any other, Then the more I listened she became transparent this time there was no running for cover
I recognized the liar, the cheater, and this mask she wore to gain attention; I stopped her in her tracks and told her to listen
I already walked through the gates of hell there is no longer a reason to lie, I gave my honest opinions and loved you like I love my own life
To my surprise she walked away without a comment, I understand because that’s why in Hell the soul is already burning.
When I walked back through the same door I entered, I realized a lot but I couldn’t be offended.
I went to the mirror to examine myself, I had some things I need to fix and yeah I could use the help
That walk help me point out my faults in me, back to reality but I can only change me
