Indian Ink

“Indian Accent”

Hear the whispers inside

Chanting from long ago
Echoes come and go
Losing time in a soft eternal glow

A beautiful and delicate autumn mountain scene
Dry blue eyes enchanting melodies!
Voices falling from the sky
Rising hymns release ancient demons that cling to the soul

The darkness dwells under gentle moonlight
Ancestors of the Spirit World,
Exposing Indian hands that weave native smoke into the air
Their spirits taunting burrows from the muddy Earth
Moccasin makers rise from underneath
Guardians of dream catchers
Smooth thread from the outer edge, bowing heads.
Luminous gems of ivory,
Chasing a florid kiss.

Through the winds of enchanted drums, voices cry out for rain.
The hollow chimes mesmerize
An ancient rage begins to flare
Stale madness,
The spears of the perfumed buffalo skin pierced my senses
Removing the veils that cover my eyes
The hands that cover my ears
Washing the scalp that bleeds on my face
They collect tears from memories of the past.

KINDRED IN EVERY WAY!

Raven silk braids, feathers fall from my hair.
Dancing in a horrid hallucination of Peyote,
Waking up from the “American Dream.”
Holding out my arms, I am free, I can fly.

I AM A BIRD!

Grief is Grief is not

Grief is not something we “get through”…
you “get through” a bad day
Grief is not something we “get over”,
“you ”get over” a cold”
Grief is not something we “move on from”
you “move on from” a bad relationship”

But Grief is… a companion we “move forward with”,
learning from and growing, with each agonizing step.

Grief is… a heart-wrenching process, not bound by time,
But sets us on a “lifelong journey” of finding truth and meaning…

Grief is not a crutch we hold onto for pity
It is not a lack in character
It is not a weakness that needs to be strengthened
Or a problem that needs fixing
It is not an enemy to be slain
Or like a wild animal, to be caged

Grief is… “A METAMORPHOSIS OF HUMAN LIFE”
YES! that needs “time”… “A LIFETIME”

Grief is… an acknowledgement of true love shared
and true love lost

Grief is… a love we hold so deep within our souls
That our tears fall to caress the pain…
“God given tears”, full of purpose and meaning
For each one carries with it a piece of our heart

grief hugs us and holds us close
to a great love we can no longer touch…
grief is… our friend for without it
our lives would have been a lie.

Grief is…purely and simply a journey of love
It is a friend, to those of us who mourn
A friend who sees what we need and allows us to be us
Grief is a release of unimaginable pain…
a release of a great indescribable loss…

Grief is… the bridge that crosses repentant oceans,
spans desolate canyons, and fear filled mountain tops.
that we may cross over this tragedy to a renewed heart
by means of the love we shared and continue to share
through the love of our Almighty God

Grief is…
A pain we can use, to broaden our hearts
and the hearts of all those around us
it is… a road we must travel to gain wisdom.
A level of wisdom you will never achieve by playing strong.
For only when we sink to the bottomless pit of grief
Will we be awakened by the light of truth.

Grief…
Do not judge it… for it contains Gods secrets
Secrets you can only hear by listening
through the blare of the pain.
It is a sacred contract to be in awe of and inspired by
To learn from and grow from
To gain compassion and understanding from
It is a journey that holds a sacred contract
That will be signed by each and every one of us
Who has the strength… and the courage…
to love with all your heart and all your soul.
It is not a journey I would wish on anyone
But now that I am here I will walk it with honor
And purpose, with my head held high and my feet in stride
For at the end of this road there you’ll be,
waiting to take me home.

Daisies

Daisies"
by Lori Maria Walton

Come walk with me among the daisies
Not with the roses, as they have thorns
But among the lucid pulchritude
Waiting with open eyes to the sky
For whom she lives

Today, walk with me among the daisies
Elevate your eyes to the indigo azure
And ascertain love’s authentic disposition
Contemplate the sheltering expanse dancing above
Admiring the daisy field

Walk with me among the daisies for a moment
Knowing they fade into the winter
Receding into the cold earthy mirth
Waiting for the sun to coax a new blossom
into obvious view

Live with me among the daisies
Bring your passions to these fields
Inosculation of spirits
Brios entwined in submission
To the seasons of life

Leave with me to the daisies
When time can be no more
When you are tired from the roses thorn
And long for gentleness and mercy
To hold you through the night

Lay me softly among the daisies
And let me dream of how they made you smile
And you remembered life’s sweet innocence
As you played in their petals creating
A life of beauty and goodness

The Tumid River of Acheron

The Tumid River of Acheron (the journey) Part 1

Dark the tumid, rushing waters flow
where man most wisely fears to go
Liquid blackness sings of epic pain
torture, misery and cries of insane
Echoes of evil Eperius in the West
shadow realm where evil never rests

Black ship of Kharon eternally sail
into the sunless land of a dark hell
Land those lost , family and friend
exists for all wicked women and men
Black abyss where Apollo never walks
lost souls ripped by screeching hawks

Forever filled by rowboat conveyed
miserable, crying souls are relayed
Crossing the tarn of Acheron then
cursing future torments for all men
Seething waters set to ever separate
those lost into future tortured Fate

Father of evil waters from which sprang
the Styx of which man's curses rang
Flowing stream holding back evil foul
where tortured spirits scream and howl
Acheron, into a lake of scorching heat
where demons play with souls they eat

Delivered shadows fall on prayers cast
vanity briefly soothes, forever lasts
Prayers sinking like river cast stones
dreams birthed from dead skin and bones
Waters that wrap around Haides evil realm
with Daimon, the dark Lord at the helm

Gushing forth from the bowels of rock
mighty blackened waters rise to shock
Upon its moving mass of wretched stink
poison so lethal no mortal man may drink
Kharon, the ferryman awaits at the oars
to deliver the lost upon evil's shores

Far below the path of Mariandyni coast
the Acheron ferries victims to its host
Loaded with spirits of cries and moans
Kharon laughs at all the misery groans
From the south shore of the black sea
in sun's light never again will they be

Many are the tales of Acheron's fame
its victims steeped in sin and shame
Anguish rises as dark waters deliver
the wretched lost to painfully quiver
In this dark abhorrent , torturing Hell
those embracing lustful sin into evil fell

Robert J. Lindley, 09-13-2014

note: This is part one. The journey into HAIDES
by way of crossing the Styx. The river Styx is
actually an off shoot of Acheron that splits into
the Styx and the Cocytus.

Part two now has two lines written. It will be titled ,
Haides and Tormented Souls (the Dwelling)..
I have no preset limit to the second part, may be
longer or shorter. I suspect it will be even longer.
I hope the readers enjoy this write. I wanted to do
something dark and move away from all my love, romance
and Nature writes. A bit of variety to stir my
imagination...

Philosophy on Life, Evil and the World

Philosophy on Life, Evil and the World

The Masters, serve their greed
take from those in great need
Such is evil's darkest cloaks
swallows that so often chokes

The Blinded, serve very well
masters in the pit of Hell
Each has a false laid pride
darkness is where they hide

The Slaves, eat deep regret
of life they'll never get
Each accepts a darkened yoke
defiance rarely ever spoke

The Brave, sail with heart
paying from the very start
Sacrifice to save our Souls
Deep river, so many shoals

The Warriors, cut ever deep
die as family sets to weep
Freedom's mantle they serve
with epic hearts, iron nerves

The Innocent, stand so bare
suffer greatly, so few care
Yet they are the true treasure
their test is the real measure!

Robert J. Lindley, 09-05-2014

note: Impossible to include ever
group so this poet came up with
these six to write about...

There is a place

There is a place you can go that is full of only love and Warmth .
you will be surrounded by a light that shines from the Heavens ,
Sprinkles of Silver and Gold.

This place is filled with brilliant colors of Purple , vibrant Gold, all colors.
not one Color is less significant then another ,
for every color is equal here .

This place is surrounded by the beauty of different Flowers.
All flowers have significance here . No one Flower is better then another .
All Flowers are equal here .

It is important you know , you can cry here , and should cry as often as needed .
For the tears will cleanse your Soul and give the Flowers water to grow.
No one Tear is insignificant here , every tear has value and not one is better then another .

money holds no value , Where you live , what you own, has no significance here .

You will be surrounded by a beautiful light that shines from the Heavens .
A shining warm light will encircle you and allow nothing to hurt you .
Hate will be shed at the door light a old jacket of no use.

There is a place of beauty and Worth.
This place will not be found on Earth .
It is a place where no one person is better then another .

I'm my Daddy Made Over

Dedicated to my Dad Jerry W. Niday 3/20/1952 - 6/18/2013

I am who I am because of him
He’s the reason for my son’s name
He gave me my courage & my strength
To stand tall even when standing wasn’t easy
Stand for the ones who can’t
To think and fend for myself
I’m my Daddy made over

Taught me to fight back
To never back down
How to pick myself back up
When I’ve been knocked down
Fight for what I believe
I’m my Daddy made over

He gave me my stubbornness
Gave me my pride
Gave me my temper
Taught me not to take crap
To speak my mind no matter who
Work for what I want
I’m my Daddy made over

How to keep my emotions in check
How to handle large amounts of pain
When in trouble he always had my back
He knew how my mind worked better than anyone
I got it from him
I’m my Daddy made over

Even though he’s gone
I’ll stand and continue on
I may stumble I may fall
May even get hurt along the way
But I’ll pick myself back up
I’ll dust myself off and stand tall
I’m honored and proud to say
I’m my Daddy made over

Dementia

He was always so happy
strong and bold.
He'd give you the shirt off of his back.
Tough.
Independent.
He had a rough life
growing up through the depression,
but like he always does,
he got through it.
He has two boys, of whom he is so proud.
Moved from Regina, to Victoria.
He had the best life anyone his age could have wanted.
But ever since his wife died,
he has not been the same.
Sad
Lonely
Empty.
But like he has always done,
he got through it.
Mind slipping,
just a little forgetful.
That's how it always starts out...
But like always, he powered through it,
until now...
He is not the same person that I used to know.
He been sentenced to the prison in his own mind.
Possessed by the thoughts of his dogs ashes.
He likes to play the blame game,
but we know he doesn't remember that it was him.
He wakes up in the night
shaking with pain,
tears streaming down his face.
There is nothing we can do,
Oh well...
Two more tylenol.
Hold on to hope
for as long as you can,
It's only a matter of time now.
He gets vocal, a very loud tone.
He'll block you in your room
and make false accusations
But we know that it's the pain induced monster in him.
Tick tock, tick tock...
You can't handle the stress anymore
you have to leave.
Just hope for the best,
maybe it will get better.
Surprise, it doesn't.
Your denial is foolish, everyone knows
what happens next.
Sedation
Medication
Anger
Hurt
All results of

the day you flew to Heaven

We knew , it was if a moment stopped in time
hearing the news before most of the World did
He loved to fly his plane from Colorado to Monterey Bay
He was a avid golfer at Pebble Beach respected

He had loves and passions from many places
deciding to fly low through the overcast red sunset
Not only did he love music and inspire all
He loved his Plane , he will always remain a beautiful Soul

The next day it was confirmed ..all saddened
It was John Denver's plane that went down
Today in Pacific Grove stands the Memorial
So Kiss me and smile for me we will ~
              always in loving memory
OH babe , do we hate you go ~

Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

After the fall

Quite frankly, I don't remember at all
You see I was quite young when I took my first fall.
Don't know which parent was there to catch me
Or how hard the decision was to stand back and let me.
Did I topple forward or backward, or who made the call.
And who scooped me up crying
After the fall.
I can't remember the joy of first letting go
And taking that step without holding on.
Groping my way forward
Leaning against the wall
I got back up
After the fall.
As the Earth spun the years flew by so fast
At 17 I finally knew everything at last!!
Unexpectedly, I fell once again,
Head over heels this time
And out on a limb.
I was so sure of that bet
I gambled it all
Heart bruised abused and then broken
After that fall.
And then I broke my own promise
To not love again.
Hungry for life
I gambled to win.
Life is a theatre of first steps first
A one act play with no time to rehearse.
Co starring in roles
Cast without planning.
"Never more" echoes
The raven still chanting.
Undaunted unwilling
To let darkness win all
Trusting Father to be there
After the fall.
Then the day came
When I had a son
To let him learn the word hot And hope he'd not run,
Would he still love me
Or trust me at all
When I pulled my hand back
And allowed him to fall?
And knowing I'd be there again
To help him to stand
And knowing he might never walk
If I didn't let go of his hand
And hoping he didn't revert back to a crawl
When I let go of his hand
And allowed him to fall.
As the earth kept on turning
My heart kept yearning
My son now a man
Living and learning.
He hasn't held my hand now in a very long time
The cats in the cradle slowly plays in the back of my mind.
I looked in the mirror today
And noticed my dad.
And remembered a talk that we'd never had.
Remembering how he seemed towering and tall
And was there every time
After each fall.
I lose my balance these days now and again
My steps aren't as sure
As they once might have been.
In the winter of life now
I feel so small
And wonder who'll catch me
If I take a fall.
I suppose I'll just have to trust Father
With both great things and small
To pick me up on the other side
When I take my last fall.

Wisps

"Friend,
Mind wandering through misty woods.
You don't understand your purpose.
Friend,
I knew you too little,
Please do not shed your salty emotions,
Not out of anger, not out of sadness.
Friend,
You now lose your way so easily,
You sink, you burst, you burn inwardly.
You weep from frustrations,
From the guilt of an honest smile,
From pains, that you forget for a moment,
That come swiftly back to haunt you of your loss.
I understand, dear friend.
You once had a light and the woods seek to snuff it out.
Do not fear, dear friend,
Friend follow me, as I once did you.
Friend, now you see?
Yes, you see,
The little wisps in the fog that guide us home."

So Shall It Be In The End

What choice has bittersweet despair,
A dying rose,
An empty chair.
Shall I then grieve and weep for thee
And temper broken heart and soul
So I can cherish one more gaze
Of happiness, of summer days
And bristle with abiding love
Of life cast now in shade and brook,
This ebb which pains with force and fate
United soon through heavens gate.

Don't Cry

Please don't cry over my casket
For I am not there
Please don't cry at my grave
My soul has been set free
I know it's hard not to cry
I've been down that road one to many times

I have no more pain
I have no more sickness
And I would not change a thing
As I walk threw the gates of Heaven
Mom Dad our brothers and sisters
Will welcome me with open arms
Here I am free of that pain

Don't blame yourself
It was my time to go home
This is where I'm supposed to be
Don't dwell on things which you can not change
I will always be in your heart

I will always be watching over you
When that day comes for you to come home
I will be there to welcome you
With open arms
And walk you threw the gates of Heaven
You will be greeted by our family & friends
Who came home before you
Until that day I will be watching over you

Light at the End

When it hits my chest
It would not lay me to rest
It cannot bring about my end
So long I refuse to bend
Death on my chest
Is but a test
On my will to live up
To see if I would give up
The Giver would allow the pain
After seeing my faith on life
He would restore me again.
Death test is but in the while
Of a second
After which we can go on.

Trip on, Trip up

Walk before you speak.
Lend your voice that seek.
Foot forward and back.
So will that be a fact.
Gone by and be well.
Trip up and put into a cell.
Got no one to talk to.
I want a phone call to sue.
When I wake from my slumber.
I wish not to be hit by lumber.
Going to become a dreamer.
I hope that I do not become a screamer.
I got new shoes.
With colorful strings that are loose.
I am slow on tying them.
I feel they are harder than stem.
String are not new.
They smell pew.
I walk once again to journey.
That means I need some money.
Trip up again with meaningless acts.
Walking with out trust that lacks.
Shamefulness I speak.
I go behind a tree to leak.
I have no home set in stone.
Wheeling and dealing always alone.
Since I was a child that was left on the street.
I became a street beat.
Strolling with confidence to day.
Making my way.
Some law men stop me.
I was so out of it that they can see.
They thought I was on drugs.
I was really itching bugs.
Stumbling because I have not eaten.
So they grab me and I got beaten.
They finally found me innocent.
So I told them to get bent.
I was a good citizen with high hopes.
The society today thinks I am on dopes.
Can I be help with no pain.
Will they put me some were I will gain.
So I was put into a helpful place.
I was then able to eat and say grace.
Some crazy person came in and started shooting.
So people ran and started looting.
Cannot get away from bad luck.
Sure enough I feel so stuck.
Knowing that I was fleeing.
I became worth not seeing.
I lay there my time just feeling has pass.
Losing my mind and running out of gas.
Finally I hear a person the sound sounds so weak.
A life time that I wanted to seek.
Found myself in a bed.
Down to nothing I was shed.
A person with white clothes that said your in luck.
You survived and now you owe some buck.
So sad not really glad.
Bad thing was the kid that was shooting was my lad.
Time really passes I just want to walk.
To see my kid to talk.
Why did he do what he did.
Dad he said I was starving and I am a kid.
So I have turn to a life time of crime.
Dad do not give me your time.
Because when we talked long ago.
You just left home with all the doe.
Hope you have a good life.
Because mom had been a good wife.
Now it is your turn.
So you can walk into the fire and burn.
With out a doubt you will walk away.
Trip on and Trip up and you will never pay.
Now dad keep your love.
Because I seek my mother above.
You will be chain.
Down you go insane.

BABY

written 28th oct 2012

You were never seen by us, that privilege sadly was not for us
an extravagance we were overwhelmed by, the thought of your embrace
The entire twelve weeks you were a joy to have known, even 'without' being seen
hearing about you're arrival, was a blessing at the time you were conceived
For life hadn't been easy and we had all asked God, we even plea'd

We wait upon the day, you will finally meet us
having the honour to love and learn with you, saddly not for us
It brakes my heart as you part, you had already embeded love into my heart
Just knowing we will now...forever be kept apart

God has other plans for your love that's so strong, blessing us from the start
we continually pray, maybe he'll deside to let you stay around
But the intense pain of tears and loss, are constantly falling all around
just let it be known, we all desperately wanted you to become part of us

We all will love you for eternity, you are now forever one of us,
although it was only for a very slight second, it was better than never
You are from this day on, embedded into our hearts forever...
the impact you have left 'unborn young one'' my beloved grandchild....

Hold Me For A Moment

You held me for a moment
For just a moment it would seem
It seems like forever ago
Although I could never remember
Remember those warm-filled months
Between March and November
November was the end
The end and a new beginning
Beginning of a new season
A season such as Spring
As Spring would bring new life into the world
A world with unreasonable sin
A sin as lifeless as Autumn
(Autumn to some called Fall)
Fall, when he would fall
A fallen angel,
An angel gained
Or gaining a loss?
The loss of a day,
The loss of a life
A life that would end as the day turns to night
The night always dark
The dark calls for closed eyes
Eyes that await the promise of a sunrise
And so the sun would rise
But some still remain asleep
A deep sleep they will not wake
Wake me up from this dream
Dreams of an untold story
A story was cut short
Shortness of a heartbeat
A heart with no beat
Better count your blessings
Blessed life-long lessons
Not to lessen the longing
But I still belong to him
He smiles upon me all day all night
The night, I am used to days without light
A light grip, a solid hold
Hold me so that I don't fear no end
End this yearning, hold me for a moment again

No Journey to Make

How long do you wait with no journey to make?
Low sun dries the morning dew
alone on a platform you feel a dull ache
that tells you its long overdue

Autumn’s coming or is it the fall?
The leaves on the line make you wait
The phone’s in your hand but there’s no one to call
And tell them you’re going to be late

Malevolent images have messed with your mind
Like a hard drive of short painful slides
But today you’ve chosen to leave them behind
On a journey that ends in suicide

The world doesn’t stop there’s no bolt from above
A lorry is emptying bins
Your mind can’t control all the things that you love
Your mind can’t absolve all you sins

You make the first move there’s no going back
You feel a sharp shift down below
There’s strong smell of oil and there’s **** on the track
And you stare into oncoming yellow...

Life goes on...
with a minor delay
as they bag up your things
as they wash you away
your actions made at least 55 late
let them wait
and call you inconsiderate
life goes on...

My Love

My love I can not find you anywhere,
I feel like I lost my soul somewhere,
because you are my soulmate,
and us being apart can not be fate.

You did not leave because you wanted to,
It just was just something you had to do.

I was not right, All I wanted to do was fight,
and knowing you was the love of my life,
yet I would not make you my wife.

I know that's what you really wanted
and now I am feeling haunted,
by the things I should have done,
and you being the only one
I ever loved and will love forever, if it was'nt for me we will still be together.

But you are gone
and I can not go on,
so I must say good-bye, I'm leaving myself to die.

A MOMENT IN LIFE

                                    A MOMENT IN LIFE

Tears filled my eyes, as my heart riveted with pain
As I watch your body lay there lifeless
Jokingly you say its okay I’ll be fine
The question I often asked GOD, why
Our Childhood memories, the moments spent, times we shared
In a split second our journey together would suddenly come to a halt
Your presence diminish you are now gone from this world
Never was there a dull moment, never a sad day
You brought me laughter, joy smiles filled with cheer
Words of wisdom, willingness of heart, words of courage, words of faith
A priceless treasure that can never be replaced
You saw in me what I could never understood or envisioned
A world filled of opportunity, a world ready to be explored
I vividly remember you say this journey we called life ,
Has unexpected moments, uneventful happenings
Still the storms, ride the waves, through every road of challenges
Greater I am, Wiser I Become

(This poem I wrote because I lost my sister March this year at the age of 36)

If Old Men Fought

An old man looking out his door,
gaze fixed on a distant shore,
reminiscing to a time, not of happiness,
or, the prospect of a bright future,
to when he was sick to his very core,
to when as a youth, he went to war

A time before infallibility had meaning,
patriotism and bravado the craze,
the future was still unknown,
vigor for life at its all time high,
a time for romance, partying, buying,
no thought of pain, deformity, dying

Too young to understand or question,
ship to foreign shore, medals abound,
will impress the girls next time in town,
sacrifice not temporary,
forever more,
a legacy etched into a wall, few will remember,
flesh shredded, burned, torn,
families mourn

A time, when he willingly went to war,
will happen no more,
all lost in youth, now unrelenting,
no blind obedience,
minimal risk,
long life, his number one ambition

As he turns back from the door,
he thinks of the youth,
here now, soon no more,
lessons never learned,
the call to war,
to common the roar,
complacency the mood,
another generation removed

The old man agonizes
over what was originally not known,
war is preventable,
life too precious to waste,
the solution simple,
his vision, maybe too late

Send old men to the front to fight,
arthritis, heart disease, poor eyesight,
let the youth enjoy their life,
his near over, its only right

Send old men, to the front, to fight
ask them to give up their life,
patriotism and bravado, still alive,
will and desire would not last the night,
old men do not rush to death in their twilight,
failure inevitable, the old man smiles,
knows he's right

Wars not possible,
if old men, are sent to fight

Black and White

You’ve maddened me to the core
You singed me with your ferocious fire
We’re opposites… we’ll never integrate
We can’t blend with each other…
Your love and I’m hate
We’re contrary to each other…

So don’t even think about
Getting us back together
Because without a doubt,
We don’t click with each other…

So let us go our own way…

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to be deleted from my mind…

I’m not the one that should pay the price
You act as if you’re an angel from heaven
But, you’re a fiend…a devil from hell...who needs your advice?
Could someone unchain me from this prison?

So let us prepare for that day…

Fear and bewilderment build inside of our minds
Taking over us…we’re wasting valuable time
Terror and wrath injects into our veins…time starts to unwind
I’m regaining my glory…this moment feels so sublime

You think you’re innocent?
I can sense your guilt…bleeding through you
Do you live to feed me anguish?
Don’t deny it…you crafty demon…no wonder I feel blue

Let’s get ready for battle…
I’ll watch you decay…
IT’S PAY BACK TIME . . .
Taste my fury and my agony

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to be defeated…

I scream before nightfall
I close my eyes to kiss my demise
I want to disappear
Scratch away my desolation
Wipe away my tears…
Spewing out of my eyes…like a waterfall
Tonight, there will be dismay
There will be suffering
After sundown…
Failure and glory will expose like stars in the midnight sky
Who will earn the crown?
No one knows in silent wars – who can reveal the light in goodbye

Why are we black and white?
Are you too afraid to know the reason why?

Everything’s black and white
You love to torture me with your deceptive devices
We’re playing this chess match – let’s fight!
Tonight, you’re going to pay the prices
You’re going to suffer alone…

Rapture's Light

I’ve just had an experience unlike any other.
It was so great, cause now I’m with the Father.
I’ve just had an experience unlike any’ll know.
‘Cept for those who came with me in the flow.
Of Light! That is. The never-endin’ Light of the Lord.
The never-endin’ Light of the Lord!

I’ve been through hell all thro’out my life.
And I’ve had all kinds o’ different strife.
And I’ve been hard-press’d.
And I’ve been depressed.
And just when I thought I got the hang o’ things,
They change, and they rearrange.

I’ve done all sorts o’ things.
Stupid things. Crazy things.
But now times have changed.
And everything has rearranged.
And all that I e’er knew,
Has come back to bite you.

So listen closely as I tell what’s happened to the world.
The world’s spun it’s last spin and has finally hurled.
The Hea’nly Host has brought us up.
All us Christians, that is, pup.
Anyone listening to this,
is more ‘an likely in any state but bliss.

If this is bein’ heard,
Then e’eryone is real disturbed.
You may’ve just witnessed all of us disappearing,
But there’ll still be another hearing.
Like it’s been for all of life, ‘cept for this one instance that is,
You may come to meet the Lord after you perish.

You’ll have an experience unlike any other.
It’ll be so great, cause you’ll be with the Father.
You’ll have an experience unlike any’ll know.
‘Cept for those who’ll come with you in the flow.
Of Light! That is. The never-endin’ Light of the Lord.
The never-endin’ Light of the Lord!

I shall end this now for I’m ent’rin the Pearly Gates o’ Heav’n.
It’s more beautiful than can be describ’d by any Reveren’.
If somehow this reaches you people on Earth,
Remember this one thing from the hearth.
There’ll always be hope, so stay strong!
Don’t worry, this torture won’t last long.

The Storm

And the storm calls to me in ways you'll never understand
A gentle call that urges my soul forth
The lighting guiding a path for my feet to walk
Between the stones and ash of all that once was
I stand in the echoing silence of the rain
It drops down upon my skin like the blessing waters of heaven
Soothing me, lifting the weight from my body
I feel at once as if I am home
Standing amid two dimensions
Caught between two skies - here and there
The night wraping around me in warmth
The gentle wind lifting me off my feet
Drops from the clouded moon washing away my body
and I am left just a soul, an essence
The storm calls me forth from beneath my roof
Beckoning me into its depth
I stand among the reeds in the basin
They dance and sway as if welcoming me
And I sway with them back
Caught up in the power that charges the air
That threatens to sweep me away
If the ground will just loosen its hold
The thunder rumbles a low welcoming growl
And I get pleasently lost within it
I am so small compared to its vastness
I close my eyes and succumb to the skies wishes
Rising higher until my feet no longer touch the ground
My fingertips touch the liquid color of the stars
A sigh drifts from my lips
There is no need of thought to stay afloat
There is no demand to breathe in air
No crushing weight upon my chest
As my lungs struggle to survive
There are no struggles here
I make my bed on blackened clouds
And give in to the call
The storm has claimed me as its own
It was such a struggle to stay upon the ground
When the storm would call me home

The Running Man

Leg over leg
I watch
Oh once great majestic man
Stuffed with life and vigor
Stood atop the world
Champion
Once conqueror of mountains
Now crushed by pleasure
Turned animal of desire
Now the running re-claimer
Of past honors

Leg over leg
I watch
One step at a time
His lungs smashing against his insides,
As they fight for air,
Against a nicotine choke hold

Leg over leg
I watch
His feet
They burn,
Sprinting through a Savannah of flames
The weight of his past gluttony slows him down
And chains of sweets
Bind him to a mountain of food;
An animal
 Hungry for progress

Leg over leg
I watch
A hurricane of alcoholic despair swells above him
As a downpour of liquor whips his beast of a body
And all that he has drank
 Tries to wash him away

Leg over leg
I watch
His vision blurs,
The distant mountains and clouds begin to swirl,
The road ahead bends and buckles,
His legs vanish beneath him
And he greets the floor with open arms

I watch
His heart rages
Trapped in a cage
The animal pushes and pulls aggressively
Painfully biting against his chest
Until it finally becomes quiet
Still
Strangled by the smoke, grease and alcohol
Silencing all who witnessed their reign of terror
His body unmoving
Just inches from the finish line
Still
I watch

The Message

I'm not the greatest of all-times, but when I'm done, I'll be an all time great in this lifetime of mine Like the late great who came before my time I will breed a new lifeline, that will breathe life like march of dimes My story lines, will bring truth life; like troops who fight Overseas, for rights of those who believe that death is life Now that ain't right! As the rich is getting richer, eating fillet me-non, while we barely feeding our appetite Night after night Survival has waged a war that gave us no choice but to battle and fight Although, we'll be all right They say we a dying breed, but that ain't right Instead we're the light to a lying greed That will enlighten life to a brand new seed A man of God indeed Freed from the Son that bleeds Like the summer breeze He's the sum that equals the amount of air I breathe The air that please A satisfaction like the birds and the bees My word's words are the keys That will fornicate with the mind and give birth to a seed A seed of social change, that'll change our social economy So shall our comradery That will bring comfort to a struggling society A synonym...similar to a civilization seeking for unity Unifying the physics of theory That seeks to explain the synopsis of a dying philosophy Similar to the Cosby X-cept my scrip-tic will speak more about our reality Like life's calamity And everything else in life that's destroying us systematically However, I've discovered a system That can mathematically destroy ignorancy And turn our state of mind intellectually I elect that He (God) selects me to be And be that man who may lead this community So that they (My Peoples) may commute with me En-route to a destination, destine towards our destiny Like we were destine to be We were meant to be "Great" like the late great that came before we. Because we are... The reflection where perfection gave birth to the definition of greatness Where great means Competent, Skilled, Well Informed, and Tremendous Our potentials are endless And only we not even the enemy can put an end to this So it's time we put a stop to this The biggest enemy of self And that's envy and jelousness Cause after this is Heaven or Hell and that's all there is A promised made sealed with a kiss Knowing this Is the next best thing since "In the beginning" In the first chapter of the first verse in Genesis!

The Women

The Women

(for the countless women, names unknown, who bore the brunt of Apartheid, and who fought the racist system at great cost to themselves and their families, and for my mother, Zubeida Moolla)

Pregnant, your husband on the run,
your daughter, a child, a few years old,

they hauled you in, these brutish men,
into the bowels of Apartheid's racist hell.

They wanted information, you gave them nothing,
these savage men, who skin happened to be lighter,

and white was right in South Africa back then,

but, you did not cower, you stood resolute,

you, my mother, faced them down, their power,
their 'racial superiority', their taunts, their threats.

You, my mother, would not, could not break,

You stood firm, you stood tall.

You, like the countless mothers did not break, did not fall.

You told me many things, of the pains, the struggles,

the scraping for scraps, the desolation of separation
from your beloved Tasneem and your beloved Azad,

my elder sister and brother, whom I could not grow
up with, your beloved children separated by time, by place,

by monstrous Apartheid, by brutish men,
whose skin just happened to be lighter.

You told me many things, as I grew older,
of the years in exile, of the winters that grew ever colder.

You were a fighter, for a just cause,
like countless other South African women,

you sacrificed much, you suffered the pangs,
of memories that cut into your bone, your marrow,

you resisted a system, an ideology, brutal and callous and narrow.

Yes, you lived to see freedom arrive, yet you suffered still,
a family torn apart, and struggling to rebuild a life,

all the while, nursing a void, that nothing could ever fill.

I salute you, mother, as I salute the nameless mothers,

the countless sisters, daughters, women of this land,
who fought, sacrificing it all for taking a moral stand.

I salute you, my mother, and though you have passed,
your body interred in your beloved South African soil,

you shall remain, within me, an ever-present reminder,

of the cost of freedom, the struggles, the hunger, the toil.

I salute you!

(for the brave women of South Africa, of all colours,
who fought against racial discrimination and Apartheid)

My Story Telling Can You Trust Me

Gun fire all around, bombs going off in the distance
It was some of the angry mobs and resistance
Father was the king of SafeHaven a small kingdom
Like all other kingdoms it fell in random
Fire started in the castle
And along with it came a battle

It was a distance memory now because the child has now grew
Many things in this child that made memories stew
My name is Mastrey, a young orphan who was there that night
Mastrey saw her in the distance and her father and mother in his sight
Everyone was loud that night and made all the children hide
But that evening Mastrey saw her mother and father die

She ran into the bushes in such a fright
And evil doers were running around with flashlights
Mastrey remember it as he distracted them
Her eyes was so confused with problems
Mastrey new that it was because of what just occurred
His feelings of what those people did was not awkward

The distraction worked, he went back to were she was
Hiding and very scared she was, he asked her, can you trust me just because?
Her answer that night depended on her lively hood
As Mastrey was their with his hand reaching out to her as he stood
Pulling her up from the ground he looked into her eyes that were SeaBlue
Mastrey had made a life long friend and love, She knew it was true

Conspiracy: Who Killed The Easter Bunny

A crowded table, all suspended in shock
The sound of the shot dimming to a ‘knock’
Only silence, except for the marching clock
The weapon still smoking; an anonymous glock
WHO KILLED THE EASTER BUNNY?

Loud cries arise from the elongated table,
Jack Frost is shocked, the Tooth Fairy unable
To speak whilst Santa is checking the stable
For clues on the erstwhile maidservant Mable
WHO KILLED THE EASTER BUNNY?

They searched for hours, called in C.S.I,
Panic set in, would the children all cry?
Sandman confirmed the bunny had died
Batman suspected somebody had lied
WHO KILLED THE EASTER BUNNY?

Guests were quizzed, interrogations began
The mystery unfolded when Santa Claus ran,
Grabbing the pies, he tried escaping in a van
But was stopped in his tracks by superman
SANTA KILLED THE EASTER BUNNY!

Death

Death Aug. 04, 2011
What is death but a journey of the unknown? This one word brings the bravest most intelligent of human kind to their knees. Fear fills the heart as one begins to wonder, what if?
Watching those nearing death experience things of the unknown only they can see and hear brings more questions. At times reaching for things we can’t see or talking with those unseen by us. Yelling no, I don’t want to or you can’t take me! Others smile and seem to be at peace while many others are just unresponsive.
If you watch children and ask them questions when in the room of a dying loved one; answers come that might surprise or even shock some. A child was told by a physician he was such a good boy and so quiet while everyone visited his sick grandma. The boy while coloring told the physician the beautiful angels around grandma’s bed asked me to color quietly so everyone could see grandma one last time before she leaves with them. Surprised by his answer they all just looked at one another. Then the little boy said, “Bye grandma”. He said, “See grandma is leaving with the angels.” Getting up to check the patient the physician found she had just passed away!
Why was the child able to see what no one else could see or hear? Is it the innocents and not having learned to disbelieve? Why are some so afraid in the face of death? I watch others filled with faith, which is at peace and ready to go. Others say nothing at all and show no expression. Some say they are ready and then panic and will do anything not to die begging you to help them!
Death is the unknown journey we wonder about and watch as loved ones experience it. What will we do if death finds us? Are angels surrounding you and singing songs of comfort? What sort of things will be waiting for you when you take your finale breath?
Death is not meant to be feared, as they lay waiting to pass; comforted by an experience only shared by a few on lookers from time to time; beautiful angels and amazing colors have been described. At times sounds so wonderful yet nothing like anything ever heard before are talked about. Things children say are always the most beautiful and short. Children speak as if we surely see and hear the same things as them for how could we not? At no time are these children ever afraid! Death was filled with beauty and angels took care of their loved one as they left peacefully together never looking back!
                                                                              Debbie Knapp.

Shadows of Terror - Lion Kill

As the light dims and dances on the horizon
A menace stirs from its slumber, slinks from the shadows.
The game move to and fro, staying sit means certain death.

The eyes of death blink with certain deadly cunning,
paws step lightly and then begins the running.

The cry goes out to all, Life is being written in tooth and claw.
Animals become scatterings in the night, dust and sand dance between their feet.
The sound resonates slowly steadily, like the first rains of the season, until lighting strikes.

The roar is deafening, tooth and claw bearing.
The cry goes out, the shadows of terror are about.
Tawny flashes move back and forth, distress and fear prowl among the animals.

Brown eyes stair into the blackness of the night.
Knowing that courage musters to challenge the assault on their fallen comrade.

STANDING TO ATTENTION IN RANKS OF HOOVES AND HORNS
BORN TO BE WARRIORS OF THE BUSH, BUFFALO STAND TALL.

FORGED BY TRAILS OF NEAR DEATH AND ESCAPE
NEAR MISSES AND SWIPES OF CLAW AND PAW

FORM SCARES AND MARES ON THEIR THICK HIDE
WAVES OF FEIRCE RESISTANCE RISE AGAINST THE TEMPESTUOUS TIDE

Bombardment of bodies against that tawny terror.
Horns heave, shove, push, and move.
The earth beneath them quakes, shifts, and trembles under hooves.

However determination of suffocating and straggling terror.
Grips, bites, and holds.
The ranks brake and scatter, did there effort even matter.
No one knows, which way the battle would go.

The battles have been decisive,
Now the law of tooth and claw,
It has been written, sealed, and decided.

Saying Goodbye

I've lived my life...
Romanced a wife..
I've walked and talked for miles..
So when my last breath does come..
I hope to leave with smiles.

Don't be sad once I am gone
My time has come to part
I'll never leave you so alone
You'll always be in my heart
I'll meet you once again my friend in heaven up above
Come walk with me once more my friend
And let me show my love

I'll walk with you once more my friend before it's time to go
Place footprints in the sandy beach
Where the waves put on a show

So this is a final goodbye my friend and now I will depart
I'll miss you the most my friend..you had the biggest heart.

I hope you will remember me and think of me in time
I'll miss your smile an tenderness
You'll always be on my mind

This is the final line for me to say my last good bye
I can't seem to carry on... For the water in my eyes

The Rain and Wind

The wind blew events all over the place.
Intense emotions and it gave chase.
Lightning lighting to show us the sky.
People try to sleep and not cry.
Wisping by the wind keeps us awake.
The time trying to sleep the storms take.
Chills in everyone gives all shiver.
The clouds surrounded by moonlight is silver.
Heavenly prayers that the rain will stop.
The flood stopped a car the person in it was a cop.
People have seen such devastation.
The road that people made was week in creation.
Rivers near by was over flowing.
Trees that were there was not showing.
By the hour it claimed many.
My father woke up and did not see any.
Floating by was a boat.
Keeping people above water and a float.
My father kept a canoe.
That some day we would use it, that he knew.
Time to paddle up and down the street.
The rain water kept getting on our seat.
It was so dark after the moon was behind the cloud.
Still the noise of thunder still covered the ears loud.
The smell of moist water never seem to go away.
My brothers seem to still sleep anyway.
My head was bobbing up and down.
I was so tired that I could not hear a sound.
The wind blew back and fourth.
It seems that my mom and dad paddle their worth.
Till all the people we saw with grace.
Help us out with embrace.
The time was so late at night.
Everyone was so sleepy and losing sight.
The fight with the weather was so hectic.
The feelings of energy was electric.
Losing to such natural disaster is hard to understand.
When people working hard to block the river with bags of sand.
With hard workers like my mom and dad.
They make things happen that is not bad.
Rough with weather they experience more than ever.
Leaders they are they are very clever.
From the night light of street lights to the morning glow.
The wind did not stop so.
Bringing in more clouds that ill.
The people who were still tired still had will.
The rush of water and waves blasting push the wall side.
Pushing and the force brought water inside.
The battle of our hour was getting long.
Backup people came to aid us was strong.
Rested they were to keep everyone with hope.
The people stopped the water with the strength of rope.
Heavy rain and loss of homes bring people together.
It is kind of sad that this was the only time to gather.
Chaos comes happiness how true.
This is why we are human that gives us a clue.
It is our nature to keep rain falling.
To know when it is time for our calling.
The winds bring such pain and sorrow.
That is why rain sometimes fallow.

Questioning Life

Forget! Regret not, for it all has intention...
To attempt comprehension leads to double block wall.
In searching your question, much more loss is gotten,
Confusion, dismay a deeper dug hole.
Infinitely seeking you strive for some meaning,
the truth is quite simple you are not sole at all!
Infusion connection the union eternal,
Is easy to grasp when knowledge of whole,
is truly encountered from deep within query
The meaning the truth the love of it all...
Once trouble & strife and struggle are missing,
The clear light of being shows beauty once more.
Accept what is given agree to the treaty.
Fight not with your fears, and answer your call.
Find substance in living, step over delusions.
Regardless of meaning, life’s radiance will soar.
So use this awareness these words and this practice,
Come forth tall and sturdy, head high and recall..
When sad and when empty in need of intention,
No doubts I plead! No need to explore!
Emotions you hold are sensed by your siblings,
Your waves of sensation your truth and your soul...
Are parts of us all, we are all together we are all but one!
In oneness we’re whole!

Journey into the unknown

Let me take a journey into the unknown
A journey that might change what I thought I had known
A journey into the self
A journey into me
The id, the ego
Who am I?
Would I still be me if I stopped doing what I do?
(Would I still be me) if I changed my face?
(Would I still be me) if I changed my living space?
What is life?
Is it the breath, the body, the spirit or the soul?
Does it have anything to do with style?
Am I alive when I sleep?
How is life affected when I weep?

What is love?
What is love
Is it the friendship, affection or adoration?
How do I know when I am loved?
What signs are there when I give it?
Does my family always love me?
Do they love me when they are angry?
Do they love it when I am mad or sad and feeling bad?
Do they love me when I don’t love them back?
Someone tell me what is love?

Now let’s talk about death
Is death always cruel?
Or is it sometimes a favour?
I wonder why people cry
How else can you meet your saviour?
My soul is troubled
My heart unsettled
I am afraid, so very afraid
Why were we created if our inevitable destiny is death?
Who has the map to paradise?
Who knows about eternity?

I need answers about morality
Somebody talk to me about equality
Tell me about justice and truth
Do these things really exist?
Some things you will never understand
Where is the fairness when someone puts the letter l in lambdacisms and the letter s in lisp.

If I Shall Grow Old 2K13

If these eyes shall become blinded, and if this
hair shall come to be combed thinly and grey;
No, it would not be the end of the world.
I would still see beauty therein this world through
the songs of Crickets and Feathered Songsters.
The breeze would yet whisper and trees still dance.
I would yet smell the freshly bloom of Spring.
I'd still endure Summer's sweltering heat.
I'd yet feel Autumn's leaves crunch 'neath these toes.
I'd still long to be fireside with Winter.
Disabled or not, perhaps I'd yet walk
therein wonderful imagination.
How I'd be forever young at heart!
Then just as one journey came to an end,
I'd indeed greet another with a smile.

Her Journey Has Just Begun.

Her Journey Has Just Begun.

Don't think of her as gone away,
her journey has just begun,
her heart held too much sadness,
for her to happily go on.

Think of her as resting,
away from her sorrows and fears.
In a place she'll find warmth and comfort,
a place with no time, dates or years.

Think how she must be wishing,
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness,
will ever fade away.

Think of her as living,
in the hearts of those she touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.

La Calavera Catrina

The fire burns deep within my heart
As ice forms on arms and limbs
The evil one approaches
With a smile and a knife
To be twisted in my stomach

The witch of Acambaro looks like an angel
But her dagger can pierce both heart and soul
She is the five Pillars
Darkness
Anger
Greed
Envy
Bitterness
Pilar Lopez Diablo

Raised by nuns, her values none
She spreads hers smile
For a few pesos
False hopes and empty dreams
She surely shall make you scream

Bury me naked, if you must
Wear a black veil, you stole my trust
Draw blood and make me swim in my own juices
I shall float in my bloody pain

On the Día de Muertos
I shall sing back to you
Oh Catrina, lady of the dead
You lie tormented
For you have all of me in blood
Except my heart

Notes:

La Calavera Catrina ('Dapper Skeleton', 'Elegant Skull'
The “Day of the dead” can be traced back to the Aztec festival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl. Catrina would be the modern name of this God.

Inevitable Bear

Oh lonely Inevitable Bear,
Padding claws, death in white
Sorrow in recurring nightmare
Instinct’s test; fight or flight?

Camouflage against the fence,
A challenge; my subconscious fear
Ominous slowly moving silence,
“Let me in, there’s a bear out here!”

WE HAVE NEVER MET YET YOU MADE ME CRY

Today I looked at your picture and I shed a silent tear
We had never met yet, still I cry and I grieve for your family
Cut down in your prime just seventeen years old
Your friend – oh how he wishes he could turn the clock back
But he faces the rest of his life knowing he killed you
Guess you never dreamed when you went on a car journey
That it would be the last trip you ever made

Innerself

He swifts on by like a moon lighted night.
He shines bright for a moment in time.
His arm's always open with warmth.
His smile always bigger then everyone elses.
His heart of rage and fire.
He swifts on by, he swifts on by.
Who will know the true man within.
The man thats full of sin.
No one can, no one can, for we are all just man...

Forty Lost

Time moves on,
and soon will tell,
when asked for whom
they ring the bell…
 Forty lived
…and forty lost,
you left before twilight.
When it’s half as much,
at twice the cost,
you’ll bask
in perfect light…
We live in castles
…made of sand,
we come as a stranger,
but leave as a friend…
Remember now,
your last first kiss,
those times will be
profoundly missed…
Your smile indeed
could cast a spell.
You learned to
play a bad hand well…
With all our hopes
and dreams in tow,
we are old too quick,
and wise too slow.
Life’s an elaborate
complex dance...
Would you live again,
if you had the chance?

The Journey

I'm going on a Journey
exactly where I do not know
I don't know when I'm leaving
and don't really want to go.

It's a Journey everyone must make
there's not much more to say
Unlike most other Journeys
this Journey's just one way.

I won't need a suitcase
or other travel gear
I must be sure to make amends
and get my conscience clear.

So I better get my butt in gear
make sure I'm well prepared
this trip can happen anytime
so I'm a little scared!

I hope it's not for many years
but I'm getting ready just in case
I'll try walk the straight and narrow
till this Journey does take place!

taking a step

This life's journey is like climbing the stairs
each step, year by year. moving up in the air
the higher I get, seems the harder to breathe
My ascent has stalled, sorrow seems to impede

loss of passion to climb and no will to explore
filled with anger, unfairness, ahead a closed door
having desire and need, for a warm body to hold
Fierce hurricane winds, they have taken there toll

thoughts of taking a step, repressed by the tide
it's filling the vacuum, where my heart use to hide
filled with sorrow and pain, from life on this earth
letting the darkness, decide what it is worth

Is this journey over and do I need to lay down
joy and happiness lost, my heart's closing down
I'll know the end has come, if I don't feel the sunshine
It's rays feed my soul, like a fine cheese and wine

"My body gets nourishment from Mother Earth,
sunshine fills my soul with Gods grace and mirth"

Nighttime Crossing

A good part of the day is night,
In at the beginning, there at the end,
Like another kind of dark called death.

But whenever to our father's house,
Some nighttime crossing in a yellowed light,
To hold yourself against the night, and cry -

I want to cross another cobbled bridge,
To view the other side; and yes, a starlit trip
Upon the deep to islands where I never went.

Just so, a spangled sky of possibles and probables,
To have the stars gleam back - "I told you so".
Then go, and have the moonbeams shed some light

Upon this path I'll call my other walk.
I want to cast a shadow of my future self,
Part then, part now, beginning with an endless end.

Grieving

“a journey we do not ask to take,
but one that occurs with death”

Gone is your physical embodiment of life,

Remembering memories of our time together,

Inability to comprehend you’re not here,

Exploring my feelings, feeling your soul,

Very difficult journey to a new reality

Is not a problem to be fixed but an experience to live through.

Not forgotten but-

Gone forever

Goats

Goats

They’re everywhere
These pretty little creatures
On the serpent road to Exmouth
They be some of the features
Along with Emus, Kangaroos
And handsome birds of prey
These little goats be bountiful
They’re all along the way.

They be domestic goats
Who’ve gone back to the wilds
Where they have bred one million fold.
As one moves along the miles
These little goats be seen so much
In their many shades and hues
Don’t know where they got their water
It be tough country too.

The weather here be hot and dry
As the sun bakes everything
And mostly here no rain does fall
To drinking water bring.
And yet these goats look healthy as
Such nimble little beasts
You’d see some dead there in the road
As the crows do have their feast.

That be the price of progress
That poor beasts have to die
That be the curse of human beings
Sometimes it makes me cry
Yet still they be so plentiful
These handsome little guys
Another little part of nature
That make love in me rise.

In your memory

Thank you for the beautiful memory
you left on my mind
you are not dead
 but you are not here,

to me you are gone,
cos i cant feel you the way i used to,
everything you used to do are left untouched
the space you ocupied is empty,

our yesterday is fading away like the rainbow
so beautiful but so short,
how can i forget the endless yesterday?
when you are here with me.

in loving memory of my sister (you are not an angel but you did what an angel can do,you fly to heaven.)

Your Only Friend

     YOUR ONLY FRIEND
Out of the night she's called for you
and raised you from a restless sleep
into the life you're going through,
into the life you can not keep.

She's known by all, her name is Death,
you see her, then you realize,
she is your very final breath
and you have seen it in her eyes.

You look again, to clear your head
but truth is truth, and now you know,
your book is finished, it is read,
and now it's time to go.

So long you wondered who she was
if she would ever be a friend,
but now you see the love she does,
and it is there beyond your end.

She whispers all the things you've done
and sings them in her song
each rising star, each setting sun,
it all played out, but played out wrong.

And there is nothing here for you,
so welcome her, she is your end,
and go to where you must go to
to know sweet Death, your only friend.

Armageddon Pt 1

It's bout to get worse
It was written in the verse
The truth hurts
ARMAGEDDON WILL NOT BE TELEVISED

When the time comes
No one's gonna hold up a sign
saying it's time to "get right"
It's gone come like a thief in the night!
Blowin' up and wreckin ish!
The war you want is the war you gone get
It was written before our time
We keep looking at the signs
manifest before our very eyes
constantly denying our right
to be one of the meek ones of our time
ARMAGEDDEON WILL NOT BE TELEVISED

We're at the end of what used to be existence
Every super power will answer to a higher power
so pray repentence
The time is closer than any distance
From Washington to Obama
No one will escape the wrath!
Hope you choose the right path!
Narrow is the gate of the righteous tracks
that are imprented on the mind of the omnipotent one
Will you be spared life on earth with the meek ones
and accurately take in knowledge of his son?
OR will you perish in the dust
never to be awakened again?
No consciousness of sin
ARMAGEDDON WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!

It's in the verses
Read it, see it, live it, rehearse it
You see the times changing
You see the minds fading
You see the world and how messed up it is
You see that nigga satan and his curses!
I pray to have a chance to live a beautiful paradise on earth like it say in the verses!
ARMAGEDDON WILL NOT BE TELEVISED

YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN WARNED

An Amulet of Peace

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
An AR16 rifle in my hands….
Seemed like such a paradox,
In the paddies and jungles of Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
A man’s life was in my hands….
That life was not only mine,
While trying to survive in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
Hoping for guidance by God’s hand….
Ignore our sin, keep us alive and safe,
While fighting in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
My duffel bag in my hand….
After 13 months, I was going home,
No more to fight in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
An Honorable Discharge in my hand….
Only to be spat upon, called ‘baby killer’,
By ‘peaceniks’ against the war in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace no longer hung ‘round my neck,
The challenge of a new life was at hand….
Found love, happiness and some success,
And tried not to think of Vietnam.

Again, that same amulet of peace hangs ‘round my neck;
And I hope my friends all understand….
I want our courageous young men and women
Out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The last journey

The Last Journey.

I’m going home my song is over
The actor rests his time has come
I’m going to cross that mystic river
And gaze upon that clear bright Sun.

Well I can hear the whisper calling
And telling me “your time has come”
The image dies the mask is falling
No more the many, there’s just the one.

As energy is dissipating
All worldly cares they wilt to nil
There’s no more wrath, there’s no more hating
There is no thing just a space so still

I say goodbye to all who knew me
But do not grieve for me when I’m gone
I’ll rest in peace my friends but someday
I’ll come again to sing my song.

CHOREOGRAPHY of LIFE and DEATH

CHOREOGRAPHY of LIFE and DEATH
(Three times I have crossed swords with death up to now!)

The cheerful trumpet of
Miraculous life,
Imperatively sounded in
My mother’s life-giving womb,
Heralding with its melodic tune
Another animation:
MINE!
And as now my innocent
Infantile heart, provoked by
The challenging divine call,
Started beating tenderly in
The rhythm of never-dying cosmos
Thus making me
ALIVE!

The promising sound was
Still ringing in my delicate
Ears
Singing the marvelously hopeful
Song of life,
When a sound of a
Second trumpet, similar
To first,
Filled with its melancholic
Tune
My tiny world,
Announcing the coming of
Calamitous death thus
Condemning me to
DIE!

LIFE and DEATH beside me
They stood facing
Each-other,
Tenderly holding my hands
And claiming me as
Their child

Life was the first to whisper
Into my ears
Promises so many,
She talked to me about joy,
Happiness, love and
Procreation,
About thousands of other things that
She would like to offer,
Only a favor she asked in return;
To be hers and only hers
Forever!

When death heard all this,
Didn’t make any sound,
Only sardonically smiled at life first
And then to me emphatically
Declared:
“The cup of joy you can never
Drink before you empty that
Of sorrow’s
And no matter what life says
To you, in the end you will be
My very own.”

That’s the way my trip in
This ephemeral world
Began
With vigorous life leading and
Tracing the promising way
And death kept following her,
Just a few steps behind
Patiently was he waiting
To catch up with her pace
But,
As years were passing fast
One after the other
Death was approaching rapidly
Each and every day
So the fight they had begun so
Many years ago
Relentless war now becomes
With life still the
Winner

Yet, the ill-fated date unexpectedly
Came to my great surprise
When the cold hands of death I felt
Around my skeleton waist
Squeezing the life out of me with
All their force and main
Eager to extinguish in me wish
The very last spark of life
And as the shrilling wind of death
Was howling throughout
My body
I fell at once breathless, dead and
Still over the ground
Remained!

Rite Of Passage

We seem to have it all
As we want for nothing
In the darkness of the womb

We are evicted into the light
Sadness, then happiness
Unaware of the looming doom

We seem to have it all-
Sadness, then happiness
Cloudy-vorfreude abloom

We hustle, we jump huddles
We cry, we hate, while loving
Then the reaper to the tomb

Death Of A Rose

Death of a Rose
By Nate Spears
Published 2013 in “Death OF A Rose” By Nate Spears

The onion blooms this summer with an essence of pleasure
The winter’s rose brings the smell of death
As X marks the spot
I ask why?
The letters reveal everything in a perfect storm
As my fortune grew wheels I became bankrupt
My pockets flat-lined into dust
My days became a Knights reality
My short comings were the guiding in my life’s fatalities
My burdens became the struggles of my light
Each and every day
I deal with this in this life
My soul is sun burned
My life has washed ashore
Times two; my son’s bring me rays of light
Allowing me to see everything with excellent vision
In all four corners of this ring surrounding my fingers tip
Victory stands bold in the middle
Failure has lost to a simple slip
So who’s the real champion now?

Tears and sweat are only separated
By the point in which they’re released
Beauty lies deeply
Within the heart of the beast
One moment for the momentum
That destroys the cells of venom
Black and cancerous,
It sickens our society as we watch this rose die
The funeral we attend today stems from this
This is the Death
Of A Rose.

WHEN I 'M GONE

The dawning of the sun
And the cry of the ocean
The blooded-like rays of the sunset
Full of loneliness and casted by scarlet

The fall of the leaves
Someone will soon to leave
In the midst of the darkest place
I feel the warmth of an embrace

I am being used throughout the years
Now searching for pure love tears
I can hear now the march of the battalion
The mark of my ruination

I am longing to see this paradise
Where my sun used to rise
I misses the sweetest scents of the flowers
While singing the lyrics of the proverbs

By the love vested by my birth land
My time comes to its end
For that butterfly says goodbye
My loveliest tears for my love before I 'll die

LONG BE HIS JOURNEY TO DEATH

" Long be his journey to death! ", someone hollered
as he dragged his feet into the rising dust hotter than sand;
only a defeated and tormented soul would have admitted
looking ahead," Much innocent blood I have shed! "

Gazing sterner than a warrior or merciless king,
he was fearless of what was prophesied by twilight
to him in a temple veiled in crimson and white...
although he claimed his usurped power with a ring.

His palace adorned with ionic, glittering columns
of pure gold stripped off Troy's temples...they were carved by the hands
of slaves, but their phantoms pitifully stared at him begging for their return
to the sun-gilded murals so that they would breath once again.

" Alexander the Great is coming from the North
with a mighty army, even the stones make away
for his conquest as he holds up up his victorious sword...
let him in your city, open the gate and obey! "

A few days passed, then the young conqueror appeared
wearing a shining, silver armor as he gloriously towered
over fortified Athens, the city that later will be conquered by mighty Rome,
and resuming his gallop, he hailed," Long be his journey to death, let him roam! "

Raven's Mist

~*~ Dead dwell beyond the Pale, in quick silver mist. Whispering eternal, within their sleep. Waiting patiently for Raven's angelic kiss, for their souls, upon Blackbird wings, to sweep. Whispering eternal, within their sleep. Now entombed in stone, cast by their sins. For their soul, upon Blackbird wings to sweep, the long journey of forgiveness, now begins. Now entombed, in stone, cast by their sins, accounting for their life and of deeds done. The long journey of forgiveness, now begins. As Raven waits, with blessed, cold steel gun. ~*~ Accounting for their life and of deeds done, so close to Heaven's gate, yet denied. As Raven waits, with blessed, cold steel gun, to release pardoned souls, once sin enshrined. So close to Heaven's gate, yet denied, along the shores of mist, boiling cold. To release pardoned souls, once sin enshrined, steel shot will kiss stone, breaking its hold. Along the shores of mist, boiling cold. As upon cruel rocks, of shore, she roams, steel shot will kiss stone, breaking its hold, to allow their souls, at last, to soar home. As upon cruel rocks of shore, she roams. Waiting patiently for Raven's angelic kiss, to allow their souls, at last, to soar home, dead dwell beyond the Pale, in quick silver mist. ~*~

Great A'Tuin - the Giant Star Turtle

Ahead - the intergalactic nothingness
Black, black

Abaft - the coruscating cosmos
White, white

I swim...

WHY DO YOU SWIM?, asked Death

I do not answer.

WHERE DO YOU GO?, asked Death

I do not answer.

Death leaves.

He will return.

I feel not the weight of the elephants upon my back.
I feel not the weight of the world upon the elephants.

I feel not.

I swim...

I swim from the Birthplace.
I swim to the Time of Mating.

Upon the world above, Death works hard.

I swim...

WHY DO YOU NOT ANSWER?, asked Death

I respond.

You will not understand.
I was here before you.
I will be here after you.
Go away.

Death leaves.

He will not return.

I swim...

a turtle swims
in oceans of time--
island galaxies

Drifting Mainly

You belong to me mate ( Intro )
And that be that!
Get on board
And grab your hat!

The ship was aghast at its new passenger	( Verse )
Like disdain for the lives that they now left behind,
Newcomers were scarce
And they never would last
But I held up my chin nice and high.

The bloke who took me screamed	( Pre-chorus )
“Mop up the deck we’ve got things to do!”
But I said sir,
I’m just a boy and don’t know what’s to do.

And he said ( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shores
Taking what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

Taking the seas for more than eight moons
We found islands and loot
That was bigger than most.
The taste of sea air
With its wind in my hair
Took me away to this new life I lead.

After mopping the deck
He grabbed my hand and screamed
 “Steer this ship boy!”
But I said sir,
I’m just a lad and don’t know where to go.

So the crew yelled	( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shore
Taking what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

Surprising to me
Was my unshaven face
The captain looked on
And smiled with grace,
We stopped at a place
Where the women were loose and didn’t mind
If we took a peak.

He said “Now you’re a man so let’s get on that boat,
We got places to be and some people to rope,
So grab that sword and drop that mop
Cause you’re no longer a boy in my eyes.”

I practiced the duel with the men in the crew
The captain took eye to my devilish pride,
And he took me aside and said
“Even in death I’m gonna miss you boy
But don’t let it strike you
Or kill your spirits
Cause even time can beat out the Grim.”

Then in the darkness came fire and screams,
Our vessel had stopped after fourteen years,
The crew fought hard and beat most of the men
But now, my Captain was dead.

We took the new ship watching ours sink deep
Saying goodbye to our drowning escape,
The crew turned towards me and asked
“What do we do?” and I smiled,
And they did to.

And we yelled ( Chorus )
“Drifting mainly
Sailin the shores
Takin what’s mine
And leaving what’s yours
Cause you know, we ain’t dead yet.”

How Hard Could it Be Part 1

How hard could it be to take my first step?

“Come to mommy, you can do it.”

“Oh you're home. Hon, look at him go.”

As I take another step, he picks me up.

He hugs me tight but gently and kisses me on the cheek.

I feel so safe, loved and happy. Perhaps that's how it was.

(I really don't remember back that far.)

How hard could it be, my first day at school.

My mom meets me at the front door of the building,

hugs me and says, “How was your first day? Did you have fun today?”

He comes home after a hard day at work and mom says,

“Hi Hon, it was Den’s first day of school.”

He picks me up in his strong arms and says,

“I knew you could do it.” A hug and a kiss on the cheek.

How hard could it be to learn how to drive a car or a truck?

“Den, come with me. Let's take a short ride down the road.”

We both climb up into Dad's blue 1955 Chevy pickup.

He stops on the back road, gets out, comes around and says, “Scoot over. It's

your turn.”

I start the engine, push in the clutch, shift and we start out slowly.

I'm nervous, I speed up, clutch in, shift again.

Oh crap, I shifted into reverse, truck stopped abruptly and backfired.

Dad looks at me, “But you did it.“ He hugs me, a kiss on the cheek.

How hard could it be to go away to college?

I'm so glad she has a phone so I can call my mom and dad.

“Hi Den, how are things going? You've got a B average.

That's great. I knew you could do it. I love you, see you soon.”

“You met a girl? What's her name? Wow, see you soon. I love you”

“You want to marry her? Big step; in Holland? Okay, we love you.”

How hard could it be to have a family?

“Oh, it's a girl. Mireille, that's a nice name.” He hugs me, kiss on the cheek.

“Another girl, Michelle, that's a nice name too.” He hugs me, kiss on the cheek.

“You finally had a boy, Michael, good choice.” Hug and a kiss.

Birthdays, holidays, weekends, visits back and forth, phone calls.

He loves them all, unconditionally. Hugs and kisses all around.

How hard could it be as life goes on?

He watches them grow up, get married and have children.

He loves them all, unconditionally, hugs and kisses all around.

We take short trips and mom and Dad go with us now and then.

We go camping and mom and Dad visit us now and then.

Every time you left, hugs and kisses all around. Always, “See you soon.”

Conviction

Innocents is purity, which evil preys.
To endure such beings may leave one in decay.
Anger and hate will fill your mind, weakness seeping down your spine.
Fear gives in, you can not breathe and can not stand.
Darkness overwhelming with the end at hand.

A reaper comes to collect your spirit.
But on this day you need not fear it.
A helping hand he comes to give, he sees purity and light deep with in.
Pick yourself up young lad and breathe deep, your life has meaning if you seek.
Your mind is poisoned and your heart frail.
Stay steadfast your light will prevail.

Your conviction is strong, it never falters.
Take your pain and build alters.
Around your heart to ward off the dark.
Your almost there, protect your spark.
From the evil that dwells in your mind,
Leave it there and don't be blind.

Enjoy the beautiful things in life.
So you may better understand your strife.
For the road to glory is long and treacherous.
Do not fear because you are dangerous.
Armor thick forged in pain, spear of light leaving blood stains.

Do not fear the beast with in, control it and give it name.
Listen to the vibrations, now take aim.
He is your spear, your love is the light.
Protect the innocent and fight.

Glory comes, but does not wait.
To seek it out is to seek my fate.
Innocents cries, evil feeds.
A spear of light is what I will be.
Piercing the darkness of evil deep,
Until glory comes so that I may sleep.

If I die before I wake

As I die he will be with me,
I fell in love he had the key,
And always knelt on one knee.

My last thoughts are of him,
As the lights go dim,
Life circling on a rim.

All at once we are apart,
The taste is so tart,
It all hits me in the heart.

You are left to live,
My heart your captive,
There is nothing to forgive.

My cheeks blush so shy,
With a tear in my eye,
As I start to die.

Fear not for I am well,
As many up here can tell,
It is not quite hell.

As I look from above,
kissing the forehead of my love,
I wonder what he dreams of.

I look at him so fondly,
his lips curve so grandly,
as he sleeps so soundly.

I'm like a hummingbird fluttering over his bed,
I wish to be with him but I am dead,
My life over and has fled.

I fear for my love for he is kind,
Strong handsome and well lined,
But now I leave him way behind.

Finding love is like a quiz,
Never knowing what it is,
He needs love from a heart as strong as his.

Good Morning, Apocalypse Now : A Tribute to a Vietnam Veteran

Untitled 5
(My Uncle: Good Morning, Apocalypse Now)

My uncle doesn't speak much
about Vietnam or the stuff
he witnessed when he
was just a boy. See,
he likes to drive the back roads fast
and honk at random cars that pass.
His friendly gestures always lead to how
he grew up compared to kids now.

Jumping and racing trains on the tracks
became dodging bullets and carrying his buddy on his back.
The marshes and dirt valleys here
became the forests and trenches of the military frontier.

Last year, my sister donned his jacket
a fatigued fatigue that hung in his closet.
In color and memory darkened,
kept out of sight for fear it would harken
the PTSD he's stuggled to avoid.

He saw his brothers, young like him
to Vietnam succumb
while on American soil
and he promised he would never speak,
for fear his stomach would coil,
when remembering rice - a dish he no longer enjoys.
And there's no orange on his clothes to remind him of the agent that destroyed.

When he speaks a calm
"Good morning", I wonder if he's thinking of Vietnam
or if he knows
that I admire his strength and
bravery and how
he continually fights against
the "Apocalypse Now".

The Robbery

Rob me of my purity,
But once again it's all my fault;
Fell into the trap of false promises
Because I pressed play instead of pause.

COCOON

      COCOON
I do appreciate that you are here
but one day soon I know you'll disappear
into the mist
I'll fly on butterfly wings.

I know you see someone you think is me
but nothing's really what it seems to be,
it's just a dream
that flies on butterfly wings.

It's not that I don't care, you know I do
and you can feel it, when I think of you
and when I fly
I'll fly on butterfly wings.

White light.
All my life a bright light
all my life a sweet ride, on butterfly wings.
Highway.
Always going my way
I will go on my way, on butterfly wings.
Out there
I'll be going somewhere
and I'm going to get there, on butterfly wings
Bright light
never ending white light
all my life a sweet ride, on butterfly wings.

lead my hand o' dear life

lead my hand o' dear life

lead my hand
on this land
o' dear life,
until the end

o' dear thought
of comfort

seed my life
feed me not in strife
bleed me joy from nine to five

lead me a journey of phases
a journey of ages
to face this

germinate in me a corn
of survival
a history of possibilities
a record of living to afford
a source to live

for this life
is a choreographer of life
a propeller of existence
an economy of spiritual commodities

a tear drop of opportunities
yet not so many does see its commonalities
an event of anomalies and regularities

lead me a way o' dear life
carry me a sledge on a journey of life
a terrain of survival and life

a gemstone for many
a pentagon of any
a model of penny

an artwork of joy

a string of life on a journey
a script of many
a stanza of any

I dont want to think about that

So what if i smoke, who does it hurt?
Why do you care what plant i choose to grow from the dirt?
I just want to laugh again,
I i just want to smile again,
Smile for something other then a family photo.
This is my crutch, this is how i cope..
This is how i tell my self that there is still hope, It could be my only hope.
My obi-wan-kanobi, the only one who knows me.
I don't know if your my savior but do believe your close,
you keep me laughing, you keep me off a rope.
mother why can't you see!
This is so much more then dope!
It leaves a sour taste now because I know you don't approve,
there is so much worse things that i could use and abuse,
Don't you remember my friend Dillon? Don't you remember the news?
I knew he was getting into bad Sh*t but i just ignored the clues..
but f*ck, i don't want to think about that....
F*CK! I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT!
Maybe if i smoke this it will somehow bring him back..

The Bird that is Loved and Loathed

It burns and it stings.
It hurts.
More than drowning beneath
the ice.
More than remaining in a
kindled flame
She hits and I no longer cry.
Why mother, why?

It burned and it stung.
The markings remained,
returned, and were relived
Looking, loving, and little
known loathing were the known
ways of living.
Never was their pity for the
child that cried
Never was their relief for the
child that tried

You were that lovely bird that
understood the complications of
felicity
Nothing looked the same in
those dewy browns of yours.
My everbeating would cry tears
of joy.
The others-they were yet to
appear.
Caring Mother, o' so fair
 You were that beautiful bird
filled with care.

The others came and were not
alone. Their two suitors sat on
the throne.
Rampage and rage why did you
come?
I began to wither and wither
slumping along. So very soon I-
the child of fines- became a
human raceme.
The droops of the Lily of the
Valley became the slumping of
my heart.
My lovely bird the enemy had
taken you and the person you
were is far from near.
For that divine nature left its
intricate self and you became
irretrievable my big bird.
All of your fairness died.
With that went my pride.

Mother, Mother what moved
you so?
Your intense spirt vanished only
to supplement a monster.
Mother, Monster and your tar
filled lungs.
How did I kill that liver that was
so, so strong?
The lesson of pain was one you
came to learn.
My darling bird why did you
turn?

My lovely bird and your big
brown eyes
I'll tell you once, but never
twice.
Pain is only a flower for it
blooms and dies
And a mistake can be killed as
quickly as lice.
You dear bird hurt me well.
Though, haven't you heard?
Weakness is a souls greatest
strength.
You brought me up, then you
brought me down.
You haved helped, hurt, and
hindered my blazing spirit.
A hero in my heart-I left you
down in your deep black
slumber.
Escaping those terrible nights
To go for the town of delights.

Journey On Your Own

There is a high, high cliff, just waiting for someone to come and climb,
But what you must go through is rather tragic, so you must figure it out.
I’ll let you pass through this gate and hopefully find out what is missing in it,
what it means,
I won’t give a hint or a word of it, so don’t pout.

Your first stop is a place of nothing but fog, and a fast current of icy water
passes through it.
Only pure of heart and those who understand can step on the stones and walk
the distance to anew,
When you pass through the fog, hopefully you haven’t tripped yet, you’ll find
such a beautiful place,
But to the only few.

The mountain awaits for your footprints, only to blow them away,
There is a flower on the highest tip of the monument in the sky,
“It’s too high, but I’m sure you know that.” Most say,
But to those who are strong of imagination, just fly.

Pick the flower, and you’ll finally see the path of your journey alone, a long
white hall.
On the walls, there are pictures of your past times, retelling all the good
memories,
But if you are truly pure, you’ll see the way you made it here, and you’ll know,
You’re dead, and this long journey ends when you sit in the golden room with
two chairs.

You’re almost there, just a little further and you’ll find paradise, I’m not lying.
If you see doors leading away from this golden room, congratulations, you
have done well.
For you, there will be a never ending paradise, a Dreamscape awaiting your
presence,
And your life stories, people can retell.

“You have done well alone,
You must come and find me on your own.”

Everlasting Candle

"Hello?"
"Hey, I've missed you. Can I see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, when I get off the bus!"
"Okay I have a present for you. See you then!"
Anticipation. A meeting long sought after.
Phone's distant ring.
"We're going for a ride. Put your shoes on."
A father and daughter head into the night.
Empty company. Words go unspoken.
"She's in the hospital. She was hit by a car."
Confusion. Sorrow. Anger. Rage.
"Don't let her mother see you cry."
Strength found somewhere. Arrival.
Room coated in silent sorrow.
"They said there's hope. She had a brain wave."
Hope. Wonder at what that thought was.
A warm summer day running in the woods.
Sorrow shattered by oncoming traffic.
"I'm so sorry."
Enraged eyes meet the driver.
The woman cries, ashamed.
"Its okay. She'll be okay."
A misplaced hug. A lesson in judgement.
"Sam. Do you want to see her?"
Not like this.
A long walk. Endless abyss. Tearing thoughts.
"Don't be afraid."
There through the door with handle brass.
My beautiful friend's body turned to glass.
"I won't say goodbye."
Refusing to cry. Just as father said.
"We have to go home. We'll come back tomorrow I promise."
Journey back filled with empty company.
Hollow. Out of place. A need to be alone.
Give me space!
Somehow sleep's darkness finds.
My space invaded. No! Shut up! Go away!
"Sam, I'm sorry. She didn't make it."
Tears. Each one a memory.
Meeting in fourth grade. Sharing the same name.
Sticking up for one another. Playing a simple game.
Long afternoons in the sun. Never once had a fight.
She found out I was afraid of the dark. So she'd be my light.
"She was amazing. So young. My condolences."
A funeral filled with sadness so thick.
I gazed upon her body. Peaceful.
"She made this for you."
A bracelet. Her present.
The facade shatters.
It's too much to handle.
How can one's soul fire ever dance...
Without it's everlasting candle.

Strings

If I hold on to strings,
That tend to slip away,
Does that mean I love things,
That I know will never stay?
If I hang on to a love,
that just holds me down,
Does that mean that my wings,
Won’t get me off the ground?
If I hold on to lies,
That I only half believe,
When I look in your eyes,
Will you look back at me?

The Specific Ocean

The point is dull upon the spear,
But still it pierced my greatest fear-
That this pain will always worsen
(My sinking ship so wayward steered)
Through the Ocean of my person
Toward a vortex, alas! Am veered!
I'll sail to Hell- cursed excursion!
But, lo! An island doth appear-
The sea doth swell; to Her a burden
My Vessel and I; 'tis clear! 'Tis clear!
That She vows for our submersion,
Crashing upon the rocks rushed near
Shipwrecked! Incurred Her incursion!
When She, so once to me endeared-
How I wish a diff'rent version
Of our tale that endeth here...

Last Thoughts on Bob Dylan

When your engines burning and you call it quits
Say goodbye to the devil and all of his wit
When the breeze has you backwards holding your soul
And the December snow makes you leave your last goal
When the brisk air freezes your knees
And the door won’t open because you can’t find the keys
When your family grows numb under all the commotion
And your head keeps spinning from too much emotion
When your sipping on gin and juice clutching the last bone bruise
And you’re under the tree searching for a noose
Hold the rope in your left hand
And break it with your teeth
Gnaw down on the sunset
While you’re looking for the sunrise
Lift up your head to the moon
And pray with closed eyes
Go on walking the road isn’t too long
Keep steady for you are not too far gone
When your nail polish chips
And the birds aren’t chirping
When your coffee is cold
But your ears are burning
When you can’t fall asleep and it’s two in the morning
Keep on dreaming
Even though you aren’t sleeping
Your mind is moving
And your hands are shaking
Your voice is quaking
And your toes are tapping
Keep your lips smacking
And your lungs inhaling
When you exhale words that aren’t meant to be heard
And your talk is wrongly taken
When you pull out the cake and it’s all undercooked
And you think to yourself what should I be making?
What should I be hearing?
What should I be seeing?
What should I be loving?
What should I be doing?
In this life I am living
And you say to them come keep me clean
Keep me focused
And keep me mean
Under all the dirt and grime
The stories under your fingernails
With the mountains you’ve climbed
And the garden you grew
And the ocean you swam
And all the things that you knew
About fishing boats
Crossing moats
Turning rock into gold
And sinking until you float
Like George Harrison you said
Making it on his own
Living until your full grown
Never accepting or taking a loan
Because you can do this
You said you’ll do this on your own
And there’s a ship sinking somewhere
You’re grabbing some drift wood
Staying afloat
Just because you know you should
You can take it two ways
Above or below
You can grab the door know
Or jump out the window
And you’ll see yourself in the door frame of a house
And he’ll be waiting in the kitchen
For your welcoming smile
Because this is your place
So pick up the pace and don’t lose face
They might see you with the utmost disgrace
So walk in slowly
One foot at a time
See the hallways as a maze
And find yourself in your own home
Grabbing your own keys
Dusting off your own knees
Holding onto your soul
Even in the cold breeze
You may be shaken
Or rattled
Or turned upside down
But you know that
You’ve got one foot in the door
Standing on solid ground.

Near-Death Experience '85

It's been well o'er ten years
since I took my journey
through a darkened star-lit tunnel...
...Sucked down a streamlined funnel...
Many people say their 'experience'
was filled with feelings of love;
beautiful sights...colorful lights,
but mine was a fearful flight.
I saw no glorious revelations,
no visions of life past.
I saw only darkness around me,
with dancing stars surrounding...
I flew with blinding fury
straight ahead...out of control...
I could feel my soul screaming
as though the air was filled with electricity.
I cried "No! No!", but kept going...
I screamed "I cannot leave my son!"
No escaping, filled with fear,
the force pulled me e'er near.
Suddenly, amidst my crying protests,
I came to an abrupt halt.
I was stuck there in the stars so bright...
...Ho'ering in my deathly plight...
Then an invisible door square, yet round,
opened oh, so slightly inward...
The brightest light I've e'er seen
flooded out one side to me...
A booming voice from all around
told me to "GO BACK."
HE said my work was "Not yet done",
and that I WAS "Needed" by my son.
...And I came back...
I was given the chance to make my life right -
to do what God has willed...
One day, though, my life will finally end,
and then I'll truly see
my loved ones and friends.

Hands of Time

tiny, plump, and new, not yet forced to feel the weight of the world.
growing, soft, and dirty, curiosity has called them to do its work.
diligent, fresh, and shaking, endless opportunities are just within reach.
callused, rhythmic, and free, passion and soul guide their every move.
rushed, pulsing, and skilled, slaves owned by the power of desire and lust.
clasped, caressed, and jeweled, committed to another pair.
giant, splayed, and trained, talent drives and pride navigates.
delicate, primped, and glossy, forever awaiting another unearned offering.
clenched, red, and twitching, prepared to destroy like only a burning rage could.
swift, smooth, and colorful, an artist's most used tool.
flowing, swaying, and light, expressing more than words ever could.
rough, greasy, and capable, passions have soaked in deep.
comforting, quick, and busy, moving at a pace that only a mother could know.
meaty, large, and bruised, responsibility has called and they have answered.
deliberate, solid, and forceful, power runs through but only behind the flow of love.
filthy, scarred, and freezing, forgotten in their desperate need.
warm, gentle, and outstretched, habits formed with years of care.
firm, leathery, and restrained, limits learned and limits kept.
slow, wrinkled, and quiet, a moment at ease is their awaited reward.
still, cold, and pale, the life they once held is no more.
hands new, hands old, hands gone forever.
hands bound, hands free, hands caught in between.
hands past, present, and future.
on and on, the hands of time are never ceasing.

I May Not Be Here Tomorrow

I May Not Be Here Tomorrow!

When tomorrow comes, I may not be here!
This life I have… Could just disappear!

I may think of this world as my “sanctuary.”
But my life down here, is just temporary!

Life just passes me by, and goes by fast!
I can think of many things done in the past!

But the past is gone by…
  Tomorrow’s another day!
What am I going to do?
What am I going to say?

I don’t know about the future,
 or what it may bring.
Life has it’s way of bringing
good and bad things!

I’m going to look to Jesus and give him my trust!
Living daily for him...
I shall try! I must!

Jesus holds tomorrow in the palm of his hand!
Everything about me... He already understands!

HE shall be here tomorrow! Till the very end!
He’s somebody I can give my life to! And depend!

I come to you Jesus! For comfort and delight!
I know that with you, everything will be alright!

Life may not turn out the way
 I expect it to be!
But Jesus will take care of it all!
 Most assuredly!

I Tell You These With a Black Heart

I recite scriptures in cemeteries,
persuading the fallen to follow the path to my chambers.
I sing them hymns of what I claim to be mine
as I hide my blood stained gums,
they kick and scream with lead legs
so I take their palms and drag them
through the storm.
Some get dismantled from the socket.
Only they can fix them.

Their bodies starved and withered
as we enter the eye of the storm,
the eye of God.
We have arrived in hell,
enclosed by tornadoes and hurricanes.

Hush now, you must keep my words secret
for there are worse things on Earth
than dying in my arms.

I watch every one of them drop
six feet below.
I could choose to leave them buried,
give them to the maggots,
But instead I carry them through the inferno.
They mustn’t walk alone.
Walk with me to the afterlife.
They must die through what I died through.

They are all casualties to me,
no longer humans.
I don’t know their names.
If they speak them I am deaf.
Cries are frequent but never heard,
never nourished.

I was an angel once, of my own,
preaching praises,
but now I spend my days
creating curses,
designing the darkness that is here.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to do this.
But I crossed coals for my mistakes
so they must fight the fire
just as I did.
I was alone for years
in the eye of the storm,
in the eye of God,
in hell.
I became the first to claim the agony of sin.
I saw everything through his eyes.
Perspective is an interesting thing.

I created this place out of
loneliness and self-destruction.
I made the everlasting storm.
But I cannot control how the victims survive here.
I constructed the room,
and they must build the atmosphere.
I am only the transporter from
grave to final destination.

They must relive and realize their wrongs
through the lense of his irises.
You cannot crawl under the sheets
during the thunder when you live here.

Maybe through the eye
they will be able to see clearly,
but muddy waters are often
and rationality is masked under emotion.
I carry them to the calmness,
but the tragedy of hell is that
most decide to walk back into
the monsoon.

Peace be with you little ones

Peace be with you little ones,
As you make your journey home,
So early in the day it seems,
To come upon your lives’ sweet gloam.

Peace be with you little ones,
Your smiles brightened up the earth,
And though we might no longer see,
They still in heaven spread their mirth.

Peace be with you little ones,
And those who would your guardians be,
There should be no cost put on lives,
So easily lost in tragedy.

Peace be with you little ones,
As you make your journey home,
So early in the day it seems,
To come upon your lives’ sweet gloam.

For the children and adults who lost their lives in Newtown Connecticut

The Truth That Was Hidden

I'm sitting here in this room,
thinking to myself about the past.
How I had bloom...
though, it didn't last.

God, everyday I am lying.
Everyday I put on my mask.
I always end up crying
since no one dares to ask.

I stopped talking to my friends,
cut them all loose.
For this is the end,
and we all knew I would lose.

Everyone around me thinks I'm better.
since all they see are lies.
They should know better!
Even though I'm in disguise.

I put on my fake smile
and laugh along with everyone around me.
I think everyone is in denial
since they can't obviously see

They act like nothing happened.
like... I faked the whole incident.
They honestly don't know what happened,
or why I caused that incident.

They believe that I was never "broken"
just that I wanted attention.
I should have never spoken
and give them my full attention.

No one knows I've been skipping my pills,
everyone thinks I take them.
Maybe I'm saving them for the kill?
Who knows what I plan to do with them.

I throw up everyday,
only because I've grown used to it.
No one understands my ways
or why I keep quiet.

Sometimes, when I'm alone
and I see something I could use to harm myself.
I check to make sure I'm on my own
and start to look at myself.

First, I cry...because I oh so much hate my body.
Then, I hurt myself.
Proving that I am nobody.
and since I'm alone, and with no one else

I continue doing this
until I see a drop of blood,
then it feels like bliss.
I continue sometimes, craving the blood.

Then when it gets too much,
I sit down
thinking... no one knows I do such
if they did...would they let me drown?

I bet they would.
Since everyone I have come to love,
leaves me..just like they should.
because I'm nothing from above.

You might think I'm a blessing.
ha, I'm a curse.
I bet you were messing,
and just tried to keep it from getting worse.

but let me get this straight,
nothing you say or do,
will get me to leave this gate.
For this gate is where I was left to

be on my own.
to forget about help.
I was always alone,
never having anyone's help.

Just let me be,
I don't need your sympathy.
Can't you see?
It doesn't matter to me!

I'd rather have everyone hate me
than have you all pretend
because believe it or not, I can see
through all your acts that should come to an end.

You aren't my friend,
so leave me now.
This my end,
you mustn't know how.

I will write back soon,
for this is my only comfort.
I only shall come at the time of the moon,
for that is my hour of comfort.

EYE Don't See -Part 2-

My eyes
Refuse to see tragedy
My eyes
Marinate in dread…unable to embrace ecstasy

And I’m left in my solitude…
My eye’s sagging…from endless mourning
And I’m close to my demise…
Only to find myself disappear…
When will peace draw near?

You don’t see
What damage you’ve done
Just let me be
Leave me alone…hand me a gun

I yearn for unspoiled glory
To make me feel perfect once more
I yearn for flawless serenity
To make me feel no regret…don’t ignore
My calls…don’t hang up on me

You don’t see
What damage you’ve done
Just hear my plea
Listen to my excruciating cries…
Listen to the truth, not the malicious lies
Our journey has just begun

And I’m left in my solitude…
Do you hear me weeping?
And I’m close to my demise…
Only to find myself disappear…
When will peace draw near?

Eye can’t handle the stress
Let me release my horrendous distress
Eye can see you making that same mistake
At least MY life isn’t at stake

And I’m left in my solitude…
My eye’s weeping…do You feel my lament
And I’m close to my demise…
Only to find myself disappear…Stepped on like cement
I’m aching with discontent… I abhor this torment
When will peace scrub off my fear?

I can’t believe my eyes
Your guiltiness flows into me…
I can’t believe I fell for your lies
Your heartless action rape my mind…you don’t see
What my EYES see…

You’ll never see
How much pressure you put me under
Unchain me from this chamber
And watch me flee…

When will you be set free?

Hidden

The innocent child still crying,
That you nailed up on your wall,
Her tears are freely flowing,
As the autumn leaves do fall.
The wind of time still blowing,
Across the lonely way,
As the soldiers march to battle,
On this bright and sunny day.
I couldn't get the words,
To leave my knotted throat,
I couldn't get my loved ones,
To leave the sinking boat.
I couldn't think the thoughts,
That could protect me from the light,
Couldn't see your beauty,
Hidden in my night.

And now the end is coming,
Riding on the wind,
To blow away illusions,
To blow up everything.

The riders horse is thunder,
The swords are flashing high,
As the angels of destruction
Fall from the darken sky.

A million times I told you,
Whispered in your ear,
A million blessing hidden,
Behind the demons of your fears.

The innocent lamb is bleeding,
As the lightening flashes by,
The autumn leaves still falling,
From the sadness in your eye.

Rebirth

Submerging more into this abyss
Fading away in the darkness
Engulfing the heart with emotion
Life is torn away, lost, broken
Or perhaps just rebirthed

Reverse the already walked path
Inhale each lost breath
Gain each second wasted
Unprotect where you overguarded
Hold those you didn’t mean push away

Appreciate the love that blessed you
Enjoy each simple kiss
Never break an embrace
Dwell in your beloved’s aura
Intoxicate yourself in passion

Gander at adolescent mistakes
Rebellion and new freedom
Laws broken, nights filled with fun
Morning after of consequences
Smile at ignorant youth

Continue back to the feeble
Not from age, but lack of
Weakness, carried by family
Repayment for the future, the past
Bury yourself in warmth lost

Submerging more into this abyss
Fading away in the darkness
Engulfing the heart with emotion
Life is torn away, lost, broken
Or perhaps just rebirthed

Do Not Mourn For Me

Death is but a change.
Nothing truly dies, it only takes on a new form.
Everything that was created in the beginning
Is a total of all that was and ever will be.
There can never be more or less.
Evolution at it's best.
My soul, lay in wait in euphoria to be born mortal.
Now bound in my human form.
When my vessel gives it up with faded breath
It will again be as it was created.
Perhaps to be bound again;
more lessons to learn....
The wheel turns.

Only in death perceived am I truly alive.
Immortal; without sin.
I say again,

"Do not mourn for me."

How long will this evolution continue?
Souls deposited in human prisons.
The answer, I believe, absolutely lies
behind our eyes;
in our minds.
A living computer of which we use a minute, ten percent;
certainly not as was meant.

Perhaps in another billion years , at one hundred percent, we will be
perfection of the three;
body, mind, and soul.
Our evolving complete.
To live as human immortals;
with intelligence and loving enough souls to keep our bodies ageless.
No more to evolve...
Puzzle solved.

Until that day,
I'll be on my way.
Not dead, but somewhere out there, or perhaps very close, continuing my journey.

Do not mourn for me.

DOOMSDAY ROCK

      Doomsday Rock
In these, our final days before the end,
come in a moment, faster than the eye,
'tis easy to believe, and comprehend
what lies beyond the end, is not to die;

We'll go as one, together to the last,
a world snuffed out, by something closing in,
that's been ten billion years, and coming fast
but we won't see it coming until then;

the speed it flies is something out of dreams,
much faster than a thought, it will be there,
and what we see won't be just what it seems
until the last, we'll see it everywhere.

In this, the end, out of necessity
we'll all believe, then we'll be history.

Faked

I stumble upon a river
the way it flows and feels
I take my shoes off and run threw it
laughing looking up towards the sun
I wake up and it was all just a dream
my sister runs up the stairs
she slams her door
i asked her what was wrong
she looked at me
She says "mom told me you were adopted"
at first i laughed as i thought it was a joke
I run downstairs to see my mom and dad sitting on the couch
"mom?" i say
she replies "its true we adopted you!"
she got up and walked into the kitchen
"after all this time i thought i was yours" i say
My father gets up and walks out the door
My mom lays her hand on her forhead
Just dont worry about it everything will be okay
"No it wont i say"
i felt fake like i wasnt who i was suppose to be
i just sat on my bed thinking about the whole thing
my whole life and who i should have been
I packed my bags that light and i ran away
leaving the less important things behind
i set out on a journey to find my real parents
I had my sister get there info. from my dads office
I took a bus to indiana and looked up there address
As soon as i found it i knocked on the door
A man opened the door
he said "who are you?"
i say "apparently i am your son?!"
"you put me up for adoption?" i repeat

He yells "ANNA!?, Some kid is here for you!"
i repeat the story to her as she denied it
She looked bruised and beaten up
I wanted to help her but the man hut the door on my face

I had no where to go now
So i started on a journey back home
But i never made it there
I found that old river i use to go too
i stayed there for a few weeks until
i remembered the way back.
I found myself that day
I realized that i was fake but now im not because i know that i am just me not any of them

A Prayer For Healing

Father,
Do not let me be the demon I have created me to be.
I am the product of myself and my negativity.
I trust You.
I love You.
I thank You.
In Your name,
We pray,
Amen.

bloody red roses part 2

She lies in a pile of bloody red roses

She left a note to her folks saying

" I cant go on im sorry"

      It didnt say why

But still we cry

      We are all very sad

some of us are mad

       none of us are glad

She'll b greatly missed

To me she was like a sis

But when will the rumors stop

Noone knows the truth not even the cops

My pain is great

I wish we hadnt been late

But when we got there

        there she lay

on her already made bed of

Bloody red roses

The Water

Do not disturb the water
The man once said to me
for those who've tried are no more
Quite mysteriously

They spoke of love and life once lived
A place called home, where all was his

It all burnt away, he said with a tear
and all i'm left with is this empty fear

As you see my friend we've much in common
But theres once major difference
you're not in a coffin

So feel free to take a swim
Test the waters he said with a grin
for I see you know which way to go
Dont make me push you in

-Death Is A Nothing Word-

                                                     DEATH IS A NOTHING WORD
                                                     for Death was once called
                                                      D'aarth in ancient of ancient
                                                       times, then translated to Death
                                                       to control and cause fear.

Death means nothing to the dead

but it sure means a lot to the living

because death is a nothing word

for the dead is glorying in their living

and the living is left to mourn the dead

Death means nothing to the dead

for the dead is now living a life free

free from worry, free from pain and body

the living finds the missing of those love ones

who have passed on from this earthly road

   sometimes too terrible to bear

but the dream of the dead goes on instead

The door of death is there for all already awaiting

it's only those that are scared of that word of death

that makes it hard to go thro' that open door

for that open door leads to a world of dreams

the dream of walking in a dream

till the passing on is fully realized

that more the living is done on the other side

tho' without a body, you the "Spirit" is now free

So it is now very important to realize in truth

that You are You the Spirit in a body encased

and not the other way round that you are told to embrace

and so go on to knowing of your Immortality

and that makes the door of death easy to go through

to make the new living so much easier to propound.

Still

Haven’t they seen where time stands still and the sun kisses the morning sky
Running free from the break of day, laughter echoing for miles
Oh yes, it was easier then, when we were only 10
Spirit alive with tomorrows promise and innocence
Watching sunsets disappear and then soon came the years

Innocence, memories from an easier time
Beauty fades, but not for you, I can see through
The soul never weathered and aged like your skin
Spirit worn from facing each day without hope
The soul renewed, found peace, stayed true

Honesty is living life through your soul.
Life is more than meets the eye.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
And eyes are the gateway to the soul.

Souls which have no color decend unharmed
Reality unmasked, the soul of compassion and forgiveness
Teach the young that they possess a power
To love each other past our cover.

When time is gone, the soul remains as the body decays
Before the end, slow down, enjoy the still
Give your soul to another who truly sees you
Taking only what you need to see truth
Be still and listen to what remains unspoken

The End

The end of our souls, our mercy, our righteousness;
With twelve hundred walkmans
With twelve hundred radios
With twelve hundred televisions
All going out at once- static – static
All being crushed by the hand of humanity,
Communication,
Ill misfortune,
All in tune to the same crashing station
Static.
Like they stated in scriptures, rushing in succession
Tearing down doors teaching a lesson.
Let’s recognize this mess were in,
Jesturing to let the demons in,
Run faster, shut the door before the evil comes in.
But that box has already been opened
With our ill hearts
And wrecked souls,
With our mercy for genocide,
And ‘equality polls.’
Static - Static
I can remember a Paris church on Palm Sunday
Entirely filled with lit candles
One for each prayer we brought
And I wonder why my prayers must be so long
Praying for all of the struggle to be gone
Praying to relieve the pain from our homes
Praying to ease the curse from our souls.
This is not the end of us,
No zombie apocalypse
No meteor swallowing us
Just our faded minds
Coming out to hide.
Static.
Tell me that a lesson isn’t a lesson until it is taught right.
Yes, these happenings are real even when they’re not in site.
Look closer.
Close your eyes.
Look out at your own life.
For each soul, we are drowning in ankle deep water,
Pretending this earth is perfect
Is just going to hold us under.
Don’t bother to try if you haven’t tried yet
Because there are those of us out here that just don’t forget-
The drinking and driving,
The death of Dak,
The shootings and short comings,
And the *****that we lack.
**** man,
You see this world is cruel
But we can clean up this mess and make it beautiful
Just if we open our eyes
And see that this is
The end of the world.

Joy Is By Far The Way To Be Good

Journey across
Oblivion's gate
Your soul is what lies in wait.

If you accept my challenge you must
Succeed in traveling through Oblivion completely.

But if you fail it is
Your wife's soul I will take.

Far past the entrance to the
Afterlife must you go.
Rely on nothing-trust no one. All here is meant to keep you here.

The halfway point has come and gone. From
Here on out your journey gets
Easier.

Wind your way past this last obstacle
And
You'll have reached the end.

To journey your way through
Oblivion complete has not yet been done...

Bring yourself to me, clever man, and
Everything I have done with be undone.

Goodbye, Traveler. May your journey through
Oblivion have strengthened your soul, and taught you what most men
Often cannot learn.
Death did not touch you here, and you leave here with my blessing.

MLK - 1929 - 1968

MLK...
(January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

they shot you down
all those years ago

but

your dream lives on
and always will

for though much has been
gained since you dreamed
your dream

there is much to fight for
and much more to struggle for

and much, much more
to fight for still

so
your dream resounds in
our hearts and we pledge
this to you today
for though they shot you down
all those years ago on a memphis day
we shall overcome
this we do believe
deep in our hearts
that
we shall overcome
someday...

Alone With No Sense Of Direction

I am a lost person, but I am not alone.
I make choices in my life and I choose to let go.
I need a change of space, and my lyrical notes,
The beauty and the face should fade, but more I want to grow.
The nobility in life is sad, when madness is a nuisance and insanity a fad.
I have some regrets, some I can't forget,
but If I can't forgive myself, then who will forgive my sins?
I'll give it my all, and pray I win.
I'll keep my heart locked and throw away the key,
never let anyone inside, so I can remain free.
Can I question a higher power, or would I be dead,
The scum of the earth, creating poetry that is read,
by the mindless masses, blaming the heart to death,
I hope this will heal me, burning the past,
The beauty in the innocence, never really lasts.
I have a feeling tonight will open my eyes,
and guide me too the light instead of lies.
I'm praying to god that you are how I think you are,
because I need compassion, not just a broken heart.
I don't know why I like you, but you seem to close to part.
Please don't leave me here, surrounded in the dark.

Hamba Kahle, Comandante Chavez

Hamba Kahle*, Comandante Chavez!

The light may have gone out from your eyes, Comandante,
but the torch you lit,
remains ablaze.

You may have passed away from this mortal life, Comandante,
but you have passed on,
your immortal ideals.

Today our hearts are heavy with sorrow, Comandante,
yet you left our hearts so much heavier,
with hopes of a more just tomorrow.

The light may have gone out from your eyes, Comandante,

but you live!

You live!

Hasta la Victoria Siempre,

Comandante!

Baptism

Water rushes past my face
 Coolness and chills sink in
Goosebumps pop and hair raises
 On this brand new skin
The warmth of the breeze hits me
I feel it's breath, it's near
Passes by my shoulders
Hits me in my ears
 Sun reflects off the ripples
It blinds me, hits my eyes
Orbs and halos fill my vision
When I look up to the sky
 I sometimes gulp the water
Salt dissolves on my tongue
The crystals dance inside my mouth
To a song I've never sung
I lie in the caressing water
I lie there carelessly
Floating to a good place
That God has meant for me

Enigmatic Lane

Enigmatic Lane

This enigmatic lane-
I’ve walked long.
And now I see
Only barren lands,
A mere setting sun,
And a vague horizon.

I turn to look back
Along this enigmatic lane.
And then I see
Those umpteen vicissitudes,
Those sudden meanders,
Those familiar turns,
Those abrupt detours.

Down this enigmatic lane,
There have been
Many a rich meadows,
Many a bleak wastelands,
Millions of pompous marches,
Millions of disconcerting dirges,
Several comforts of love,
Several cruelties of reclusion.

Along this enigmatic lane
I may no longer tread, for-
As I now halt, I ponder-
Perpetuation has always been
The ruse of fleeting phases,
And what worth has it been
To walk this enigmatic lane.

A wanted man

A rider on the storm with a bounty on his head.
His trusty steed carries him through the storm,
wounded and close to death.

Indeed a wanted
man but he never drew first, yet he drew first blood.

The storm water washes away the blood, although
the pain and his sins remain.

Billy the kid is what he's
named and to him it's just a game.

Life and death
are not far enough apart, in the pistol smoke hear
the blasts every day could be his last.

Troubled Road

My mouth is burning dry
As I continue idly by
Feet scraping against the Earth
Yearning for a delightful re-birth
Night passed and pain flowed
Upon this troubled road

Rays of sun peep in my eyes
Clouds mocking my image as they rise
Feeble in the knees, it hurts to move
My brain stubborn eager to improve
Asking what punishment I'm owed
Alone on this troubled road

Fallen under the skies tears
Which in disguise are my many fears
Huddled only by the thunder
Ready to forfeit to my slumber
Dying in what I have bestowed
Buried among this troubled road

Aflight In The Hale Bob

        AFLIGHT IN THE HALE-BOB
The puzzle comes apart deep in the sky;
calls nothing that is concrete to the mind;
as far as we can tell and meets the eye
the reason for the tail's not ours to find.

We stand confused, and only guess at why
the wonder of it all has stilled our voice
did David Korish ever really die?
and is it all worked out, with little choice?

Mount Carmel but a coming of an age
the catostrophic ending of mistake,
what hope is there to ever quell the rage
appeassing what is wrong, for honors sake?

Is there a sign that's ever flown the sky
or is it just a dream where-in we die?

A Man and a woman in a sinking boat

The woman was worried and very distressful,
she could not swim and her dress was too heavy
-  she would sink like an old ship’s anchor.

The man saw her fear and kept paddling
with a grim on his face and a whistle on his lips.

“How was your morning, sir.” Said she.

“It was a most glorious morning, madam,
I see Apollo’s chariot where it always have been
and I hear the waves birthing another Venus,
Neptune blesses me with his kindly touch,
by Jove, what glorious morning!”

She opened her umbrella and smiled wryly

“I didn’t know you are also a poet, my sailor friend.”

“Neither I, Neither I, but I also didn’t know
you would like to spend the rest of your life with me.
That is what brings poetry to my words…”

She smiled and he padded and that is how it ends.

In Caves of Forgotten Dreams

daybreak cries
as the earth mourns
alone among the stars
its fountains teary-eyed
yearning burst forth living
dreams rising in silent mists
as time remembers her lost sons

till even yawns
awakens the moon
its gleeful heart uprising
sees the dusk aglow abide
amidst starlight into the east
while seasons concede unsaved
as wind births new kindred souls

distant memories
of the sun ere aflame
in streams of stellar light
over vast oceans of darken
shadows melancholic rhythms
against the tides enduring smile
as dust once twine comes undone

empty prayers
as sweet incense rise
mere streams in the desert
naked trees hidden in stillness
a daily rhythm constant unheard
questions spoken in silent solitude
as myths ancient now long forgotten

black clouds
in wary corners
across seas of hope
bequeath dear rainbows
dancing over sunless skies
while below existence suspires
as mankind’s light shines no more

Darken Lightly, The Bitter Harvest

Darken Lightly, The Bitter Harvest

Time shadows slip right on by
thunder in this cloudless sky
Once dreams did vividly abound
now this horror, no happy sound

Yester years, life gave it all
regret was never the only call
Days flew by with a certain feel
the good life on a time wheel

Such before death darkly came
its card with your sweet name
Sweet your memories truly are
still worshipping you from afar

This bitter harvest eats my soul
leaves me with this empty "living bowl"

My Fate in the Sea

I watched the sea as it grew dark,
the light it shined but not too dark,
fading from the clandestine spots,
I see the sea just fall apart.

What makes it grow or even die,
this endless piece just takes my eyes,
I can not escape the growing fate,
the holding cell's about to break.

Yet Another Reflection

I rend asunder and
Crumble into dust
Before my very eyes.

No answers forthcoming
To my many questions,
Most important, "Why?"

"A fool are you,"
I stand thinking.
"There is no disguise."

To worry so about
What matters not
In the by and by.

Trials have strengthened.
Sorrows kept me human.
No point to analyze.

"Life is for living,"
An ultimate truth
I finally realized.

Sooner than later
Might have been better,
Had only I been wise.

I rend asunder and
Crumble into dust....
A twinkle in my eye.

~The Only Solution~

~The Only Solution~

It’s the only solution isn’t it amazing
Words transcribed by lightning emblazing
Etched upon stone that hangs on our tomb
When flowers no longer blossom and bloom

We shed divine spirit of faith for the flesh
Without weaving prophecies into the mesh
Divided our cultures definitions of belief
Across this world both above and beneath

Although the heavens constantly mothered
The truth still remains mortally undiscovered
And the time to learn our survival assignment
Lies in synchronization of universal alignment

The vibration of higher existence grows closer
The story starts over as this one finds closure
The new generation and their hardships become
Reminders of this one and how it grew numb
*****************************************
About This Poem:
Years ago when I first began writing poetry and exploring different levels of our existence, I
was heavily influenced by Jim Morrison and The Doors.
It became an obsession about a year after my best friend of 22 years committed suicide and
to be honest still catalyzes my mind today. I began writing a book about 6 months ago I’ve
always wanted to do basically describing how The Journey began and some of the
experiences through the years that changed my life. I’d always written notes and journals,
so each year from 1993 on became a chapter detailing events that were truly miracles right
in front of my eyes at times. The other day I was sitting with my wife talking about how
rewinding all these things was kind of haunting me.
She made a comment that she believed my belief was being tested right now and told her
that is how I truly felt lately. A little later something happened that basically gave me those
signs that in the past always reassured me of just how real The Journey is.
Then while prepping to write a little in the new book,
I thought I’d play a few Doors songs for inspiration.
When the song Shamans Blues ended, the last line you hear Morrison say is
“It’s the only solution, isn’t it amazing”
I stopped the music and let that line sort of echo in my mind for a moment. Suddenly I start
hearing words and started typing. In the next few moments I’d typed these words so fast
that I didn’t know for sure what I’d written. That’s how it would happen in the past. If I had
any doubts in the ability of belief I’ve been offered whenever I need it, I don’t anymore.
May the Light of Shangri~La Shine on this Existence.
Peace~
James

My Little Boy Lost

My Little Boy Lost
by Katherine Huffman
Hello? My son, are you here?
I can't see you, I can't find you, why aren't you near?

As I walk the streets in search of you,
I feel a pull, a tug, not sure what to do.
I passed the park as I looked for my boy,
Even passed our play spot, but in my sight, not even a toy.
After everywhere I thought that I could go,
There was one place, but it can't be right, this is all I know.

Hello? My son, are you here?
I can't see you, can't find you,
Why can't I feel you near?

This evening begins as I lay to rest my head,
There are some things I'm unsure of,
Like making your tiny bed.
Oh God, whats happening, haven't I counted your toes?
What about cradling your head or kissing your little nose?
What are these things I am unsure of, have I even done?
Where are you, where are you my precious son?

Mommy lays here, in tears, her face on something cold.
Where are you my son, it's you I need to hold.
I've searched all day, it's turning into night,
I'm tired, I'm lost, but I still won't give up this fight.
My eyes start to close, slumber is far too near
If I fall asleep, I may miss seeing you my dear.

Next thing I know, as I wake to the sun.
Wondering what it is, what has been done?
As I sit, my eyes focus, I start to look around.
Then, for some reason, they are drawn to the ground.
As I look, I see what has become,
This can't be, what's happening, where am I my son?

That cold my face last night laid upon,
Was a marker, with your name,
Of your body my little one.
Those things I wasn't sure if I'd ever done,
Were but the memories, I'd hoped to make with you my son.

You were here, I know you were here
My beautiful, precious son.
You were in mommies arms, such a little one.
As though it were as simple as reading a book,
I start to realize
These tangled webs have become unhooked.

That tug, that pull that led your mommy here,
It was your spirit, it was your soul,
It was your heart my little dear.

Here you were, here you were,
Right with me, so very near.
My little boy, my son,
Mommies little one was here.
You see? You led me where I needed to go.
For it was well past the time,
To accept this I know.

I feel a tug, I feel a pull.
I feel like I need to hurry,
Like I have to go.
There is someone I remember,
I need to get to I know.
He's a small one, a little boy.
He's your brother, my son,
He's pulling, he's tugging,
Needing mommy my little one.
I have to leave, I have to go,
To find my baby, my son.

Oh Thank You my boy,
For bringing me here.
For letting my mind begin to see clear.
You showed me the way,
I now see the light.
I am so close, so near in this dark night.

So here you are, here you are,
With mommy, my baby is so very near.
You are in my heart, my mind,
And this little brother of yours, my dear.

My little boy lost, my little boy lost,
it's you I have found.
You were there with me,
as I slept on that ground.

Hello? My son, are you here?
I can see you, mommy found you,
In my arms I hold you so near.
I've bathed you, I've clothed you,
And cradled your head.
I counted your toes,
I bent in and kissed that little nose.
As you fell asleep in your bed.

Without him,
Would these be memories
we are making my dear?
Without him would mommy,
Be able to hold you so near?

We have a little angel to watch over us for all nights.
In spirit, with us, his soul,
Our endless guiding light.
He's your big brother, my son, my precious little one.
He's right here, a part of you,
Never again to be gone.

My little boy lost, my little boy lost,
It's you, I can see.
I have to Thank You
For guiding me!

A Beautiful Downfall

                                   Silver snowflakes in the sky
Sparkle with grace as they pass me by,

Bound by gravity they’re forced to lie
Never having the ability to resist and fly,

Drifting from heaven in such sorrowful grace
Fated to land, to fall on its face,

When its slow fall stops and its place is held
It will soon break and surely meld,

                     Losing its independence and uniqueness
When it lands on earth it becomes something less,

Most are destined to end in a blaze
Some broken apart by a gentle graze,

After this subtle fall of a fragile snowflake
All it can have is what it can take

                                           Always wanting for more
                                           Always wanting for something…

It never arrives at that shore
                                      It always has nothing…

Where Frozen Embers Still Burn

~~ I struggle always with my memories, The long ago past is forever lurking; In a moment I am whispered back, And the pages of my life are fluttering. Fluttering in the misty winds of time, To where the joyful and painful burn; O but this is the key to who I am, And each memory has its own turn. Turn back the pages of my journey, I am a little girl playing and dreaming; O but to stay frozen in this memory, And to not ever know the pain of weeping. Weeping has always been my companion, I so often stand in a place of sorrows; Past the ornate gate and winding road, And the past shall haunt all my tomorrows. ______________________ August 16, 2014 Quatrain For the contest, Where Frozen Embers Still Burn, Gail Angel Doyle 8th Place

bloody red roses part 1

        A shot rang out,

it became quiet,

         she tried to scream

but out came nothing

         she tried to move

But she soon realized she was paralyzed with fear

         All of a sudden

she saw herself

        Looking down upon herself

She tried yelling for help

       But then she saw it

It was in her hand

Then she realized she did something

something she promised herself she would never do

       Noone knows why she's gone

Nor what happened

All they know is that she pulled the trigger

on herself while layin in a bed of

Bloody Red Roses

Death

Look around you
See the faces surrounding you
All with different uses and tasks to do
What if it’ll be your last view?
A bitter truth no one reviews
No matter how long we stay, the end will definitely come knocking
A time to really have all the rest you’ll ever need
Being alone with your deeds and virtue
Whether the good or evil
Alone and awaiting judgement
People singing melodious songs
They tell you what doesn't kill you makes you stronger,
Blatant lie, cause what doesn't kill you wasn't meant to kill you.
We wonder and ponder
But at the end, all they do is lauder.
Not knowing death is like thunder
Striking and leaving a donga
Leaving us in confusion
Live life as a traveller, but take only what you’ll need along the way.
Funny how when you die they start listening
A journey worth taking for those who know.
Tell me, are you not willing to go?
For more?
For all the bounties and all the grace
All the sights, smells and the tastes
Will be forgotten without a trace
As if frozen in time and space
When you see his face.
You asked for mercy, that he gave.
Death, the undisputed slave.
We come making everyone happy, then leave making them sad.
Why are we here in the first place, if this is how we gotta go?

WW1

I am alive,
I wonder what is next,
I hear the fire,
I see the enemy,
I want to live,
I am afraid,
I pretend I'm not here,
I feel the shaking of the ground,
I touch the my muddy trench,
I worry for the next attack,
I cry in my sleep,
I am done killing,
I understand I must fight to the bitter end,
I say the war should be over,
I dream of a better place,
I try to cope with the dead beside me,
I hope my fellow soldiers fight beside me,
I am the front line.

In Absence

Through the journeys
I have foreseen,
Not an answer
To be found.

And through the times
I have waited through,
Not besides itself
Had phased me.

Along the roads
One shall travel
Through trials
Unresolved.

As mortality with
Sickle and stone
Shall take those
Beside me

Its horse in reigns
Ever comforting
To those
Without mercy

As soon
Absence shall arise
From what had once
Been time of suffering

Yet afar
One believes to run
To avoid
Such destiny

War had been waged
Against the inevitable;
A force ever
Threatening

How polite of it
To resume after myself,

As its realm continues,

In absence.

How Do I Let You Go

What will be
Will be!
I know of this, first hand
Your life was taken away
So abruptly!
I will
Never forget
That day!
Till the day
My body dies
And
I am with you, again!

“How was I to prepare myself?”
With
That kind of
Life changing, event!
You
Didn't warn me
You
Were permanently leaving!
I hope
You know
How much “I love you”
Know
You will never be forgotten!

I don’t know
What
Has got into me!
Consciously
I feel you
Inside me
I see images
Of your face
So clearly!
Am I crazy
To believe in this, my love?

“Are you still with me?”
“Is my imagination
Playing cruel tricks
Running rampant
As
I talk with you
As if
You were by my side, right now

In my heart and mind
Your face etched
Imprinted
Like a blue print
That never fades
Your foot prints
Still remain, beside me
My heart beats
Eternally
Trying to make sense of everything!

Forgive me, my love
For being so strong in my feeling
For it has been a long time
Since I lost you, my friend
Something
I haven’t
Quite
Got over!

My heart
Having
A mind of its own
Aching
To be with you, still!
To see you
To smell you
To touch you
To taste you
One
Last time!

I want to say “Goodbye”
Once and for all!
As
We have
Brought out
The best and worst
In each other
Rivers run deep
When it comes to you and me!

We have had our fair share of fights and arguments
Stubborn disagreements
All of them
Meaningless
Now
You cease to exist!

I miss your lingering touches
Your hand, stroking my face
Your big, blue eyes
Looking into mine
Your warm lips
Your rough, unshaven face
The way you
Passionately
Kiss me
While
We make love, till dawn

I miss
All those nights
You kept me
Safe and warm!
I miss
Your
Loving embrace
I miss
Your
Reassurance!
“Am I ever going to feel the same, with another?”
Just
As
I felt
In your arms, my love?

How
Do I let you go?
How
Do I set myself, free?
I am ready
To love, again!
With
‘Our eternal love’
Supporting
And
Guiding me
Especially
In times, like these!

Darkwood

I beseech thee, journey to Darkwood,
Where many heroes once stood.
To conquer an evil dimension,
Unheeding to wise apprehension.
The sounds of silence shatter,
All peace of mind no matter
Evil invades an idle head,
The ever present still air dead
Turning back is no option now
For it has imprisoned you somehow
So don't bother turning to see,
What fiend has crept upon thee.
A coward's mind so easy to trick,
A welcoming death not so quick.
Imagination, evil's best tool,
For thou art a mortal fool.
Heroic quest hastily ignored,
Mind's eye envisions Satan's horde
Running deeper to escape,
An unavoidable mind rape.
Suppressive exhaustion has begin,
Hopelessly wondering within.
Darkwood callous repressive night,
Never dawns to cheery sunlight.
A hazy moon casts a wicked spell,
For an endless journey through hell.
Dense fog sluggishly boils the bone,
An entity maniacally rasps. "Welcome home."

Lost Hope

I’m riding along on this massive ship.
Titanic is the most fitting name for it.
Bold in grandeur and timeless beauty,
Downstairs neighbor to the rich and snooty.
Treated like cargo and feeling unimportant
By those who feel they are most important.
I escape my tiny quarters to go upon deck
As I feel the cold piercing the nape of my neck.
My breath creates steam as hot meets the cold.
I look into the night air, to the mysteries untold,
This journey to a place where life promises better.
I love her already and I never even met her.
Oh, America, the land of opportunities!
So excited to prosper within her communities.
Daydreams of hope are quickly interrupted
As the ship’s journey is violently disrupted.
I lean overboard to see what’s the confusion
And I hope what my eyes see is all an illusion.
Large and white, cold-hearted in the night,
An iceberg passes by invading my sight.
Shock has stopped my brain from reacting…
An unusual sound of water becomes distracting…
The water quickly covers the floor I stand on…
And all my hopes and dreams are soon to be gone.
The important don’t care about us at the bottom,
“Don’t try saving them; the water’s already got ‘em.”
I stare at the night and I don’t fight for my life.
The important has slashed my hopes with a knife.
Got us down here, alone, with no way out,
Stealing our hope only to replace it with doubt.
The water is to my stomach; I can’t feel my toes,
I find absolutely no comfort within my wet clothes.
The screams are haunting and so full of fear.
We at the bottom know our time is near.
The important at least have some kind of a chance
While we at the bottom catch a watery slow dance.
The water is to my chin and I’m frozen stiff.
My nose is too cold for me to take a sniff.
The water is to my nose and now I can’t breathe.
I can’t even stop to think how this is happening.
It all ends here in this dark, freezing ocean.
I’m too numb to feel any real emotion.
The water engulfs me as I float inside my grave,
Wishing I was somewhat important enough to save.
I’ve never met you but America, I say good-bye.
The middle of the ocean is where I am fated to die.

I Still Love You

I still love you
Buried six foot under
Life no more
Risking my heart
Everything, I have ever known!
Letting you go
Eighteen years of panache and tears
‘Loyalty’ because

‘I Still Love You’

At a cross roads
Changes of initiation
Giving in, risking all
Trading this pain in
Making my heart whole
Know by saying goodbye
And, letting you go
Know, for an eternity

‘I Still Love You’

Roses

She glances
From afore does she stare
Poised passive without motion
Petals grace and glance in glimmer
Dans la roseraie de la vue
Attractive allure into light's lust
Marinating morning's delectable dew
Entwined is she in the rose's vine
Flowered fluorescence enclosed eloped
Claret joues et l'éclat rose
From the bud doth she now call
Flowered glances doth pollen pose
She glances...
Coeur brisé

The Wheel Of Life

The wheel of life keeps turning every day
Birth, life and then the subsequent decay
All living things must return whence they came
The pattern always remaining the same

All living things start life's journey at birth
Become adult through the process of growth
They then participate in reproduction
Thus creating the next generation

Life then continues daily in this world
Until old age and illness take their toll
Lastly, all must face death's reality
That brings a final end to life's journey

The wheel goes through a full revolution
With each and every new generation
Whatever is alive will someday die
This will surely happen as time goes by

To Die

Don't cry for me, I've only just died. And yes, I know you tried and tried
But the life ends and hearts do mend. Now I'm the atoms that war and love can never defend.
A universe spinning all around and now I'm home, I'm found.
Its the pain that goes away for me but I'm not a forgotten memory, don't you see?
It's all around us that life is a gift but the death is the return to the love in the universe and beyond - Beyond the burn and concern of the world and the horrors that are done in turn.
So reject the pain and celebrate with me for my death, like yours will be, was a certainty.
But not of lost life but of the chance to be free. Not now but you'll one day agree. So lay aside the regret don't fret the time is now for livin' and later comes the dyin' but please no cryin' Let the tears be for you not for me that one day you too can become free in the dust, in the air and travel everywhere without a care while mourners stare and enemies glare.
To Die is no dream it's a return to the love in the universe and beyond - Beyond the burn and concern of the world and the horrors that are done in turn.

Forgotten

In death, a journey comes to an end.
Death’s journey through life ends with
a gathering of family and friends
who reflect and comfort each,
saddened by the life lost to them.

The defining moment of worth on display,
no longer able to express emotion,
a waxen replica of what was.
Those who now pass recollect
then weep the tears of loss;
laugh as they remember great times.
So many memories buried,
now surface for a time,
again will be buried in the same manner.

Mourned for a time,
memories fade with each generation,
until, no memory remains.
A journey has come to an end.
A piece of history lost again.

Should of Been

 A word not spoken,
 A meaning never said.
 A thought lost,
 A moment passed.

Maybe I should have said what I meant.
Maybe I should have said my mind.
Maybe I should of thought it out.
Maybe I should have kept it in.

 I forgot to tell you,
 well maybe I didn't.
 I forgot to tell you,
 well maybe I shouldn't.

 Never is a rightful word.
 Never is not an end.
 Never will or never won't.
Never will be if you never speak.

 Read it again and wonder,
Read it over and wonder if.
Read again and the words are the same.
 Read again it won't change.

 To late now,
 you should of spoken.
 To late now,
 words are only a token.

Abundant Touch

blood, sweat, and tears
nailed to a cross
crown full of thorns
your life was lost
for me, a worthless sinner
for me
a new beginning
I leave the past where it remains
I've been transformed
I've been restored
condemned no more
I wear the chains no more
I am free

Just Doing Time

I have faced death many times
How I escaped its grasp
Simply, can't be defined
Someday, I know, it'll be my time
But until then, this fragile this life is mine

I know the clock is ticking
It will, 'till I take my last gasp
But for now, I'll just keep on kicking
And take my licking,
While death keeps pricking

Oh Shadow, I see it in your eyes
You want it to be a big surprise
The day you hold me in your clasp
I will see right through your guise
And find the truth, that hides behind the lies

I came in

I came in.
Upon a ocean vast I look
Upon a journey I'm sure I took.

I walked alone in a group of others.
Family, friends, sisters, brothers.
Perhaps then I am not alone. For this is all our earthly home.
Then one day my journey ends.
A kiss goodbye farewell to friends.

I walked away into a light.
Free of pain and stress and fright.
I thought for sure the jouney had past.
But what is this? A ocean vast.
Isn't this where?

Once Here Now Dead

Once here
Now dead & gone
“What am I known for, this time round?”
I exist only as a memory now
A memory that fades, over time
“Who will remember me, when I am gone?”

No one knew me
Yet people will say they knew me, so well!
A laugh, how often people think “they are experts”
Yet, really
Know nothing at all!

“How well did you know the inside of me?”
For, if I was to ask...
“What is my favourite colour?”
Or, “what’s my favourite song?”
I listen for answers...none come

“What’s my favourite food to eat?”
Complete silence...
I could hear a pin drop
Round...about...now!
“Do these questions fall upon deaf ears?”
For I ask...

“Who truly knew me?”
“What am I known for?”
“Who will remember me?”
When I am dead & gone

All's Not Well

It's always nice to call a friend
When life starts drawing to an end
Maybe you should wait a day
Always find much more to say
But should you just forget to phone
You might find that you're all alone
Yet other things I start to find
Many friends have lost their mind
Not that they are off the wall
They all have problems when I call
Some just can't hear
Some aren't well
It's really hard
For me to tell
Some have no mate
A sorry state
Other know they reached their last
All recall
A long lost past
For them each day's a living hell
All's not good
All's not well

Away From Home, But on My Way Home

I am on a journey
I have been for quite awhile
I know not how much further I must go

But I know the destination;
it is to be enriched by every life I meet on the way
and to enrich every life that grace mine on the way

So I must stop,
to smell every rose,
to cheer every heart

Though the way may be fraught
with fog and tempest,
I have no fear and I am not lost
I still remember the way home
and I am fond of home
It is a place of eternal life
It is a house of endless love,
a house of peace,
a house of joy

In my home,
there's always laughter,
hearts never break,
smiles never fade,
spirit and flesh never frail
fear is never around,
friends never leave,
loved ones never die,
no sad farewells there

I will go home,
when my journey comes to its end
To my father’s house will I go
To the house of endless love, peace, and joy,
will I return

Into the waiting loving arms of my father;
into the warm happy embrace of friends and loved ones,
who had been on the journey and gone home before me,
eagerly awaiting my return

To my home, to my father’s house,
of endless love, peace, and joy,
will I return

The day of my return, I know not,
but when it comes, I will know,
for my father will call me home,
When he calls, I will hear
I will answer his call
I will run to my father
I will be home

For my Mother

For a Mother.

she left me

with only the thoughts of her embrace to warm me

in frigid mornings of tomorrows yet to come

she left me

with her words of tender truths to shroud me

in the coming evenings of stabbing sleet and hail

she left me

yet she stays forever within me

in my waking dreams

and in my restful thoughts

she stays forever within me

she remains an abiding part

of the love

the pain

the tears

and never shall we be

truly apart

Timeless Limbs of Gold

Timeless Limbs of Gold
by Lori Maria Walton

Spinning
  ceaseless,
limbs of gold
  desire movement,
to become still

hours, set like days
  upon the laps
of young children
  and old men

photographs blur
  my memory
with stains
  of reality

where have you gone?

Life

This is the second poem I have ever written, I was nine or ten.

The love caused me pain
I’m no longer able to breathe
My bleeding soul
My enclosed throat
My blood-shot eyes
My dying words
All seem to fade away
I love to sing
I loved to laugh
I loved to love
Now they are no more
I have no sang in three years
I do not think I even can…
I try to laugh….
But it turns into a broken sob
I tried to love
But I just wreaked pain
Over and over…and over again
Can a broken soul ever heal?
No, I do not think so
Can a hollow voice ever have life?
No, not that either
Can a dead love be born again?
No
Life ends like it begins
We start out crying and frightened
We die crying and frightened
Life is a cruel joke
We all die at the end
Why be immortal?
Only those whom hate life get to forever live it
Fighting the whole time, crying
Crying for death
Because death is when memory is gone
We come back crying
There is a threat that in the end will win
No circles will save us
No praying will help
This threat has no compassion
Has no soul
Will kill many
And birth more
It has no mercy
Harbors no soul
It is here for one thing
And one thing alone
To kill us all
This great threat goes by one name
Life
The thing that few know is not a friend, a blessing
But is a threat, an enemy
This is one fight not many can win
Most will die
But a few can cheat death
Maybe even life
But that is up to you….
My choice?
I will cheat death and survive life…

Into the Darkness

Madness consumes him like wildfire,
A man who walks between life and death,
All essence of humanity gone, only the shell of a man remains,
Chaos and carnage his mantra,
Salvation attained through bloodshed, all who resist are labeled fools,

He hears voices, guiding him in this dark quest,
Voices lusting for death, only drowned by bloodshed,
A crazed demon, only praying for war,
To the edge of the world he travels ,
beyond all that light shines upon,
Into the void he travels, to the very essence of vengeance,

A quest to release the origin of all evil,
To punish mankind, rid the word of sinful men who claim to be the devil,
For in his forsaken heart and soul,
a maniacal truth he has come to realise,
Only in the face of despair,
will humanity learn true darkness

Walking through the desert

So, here we are
With our hurt and our healed scar
As the cracks on our face
Tells the story of the place
We came from and what we've done
With the chances we had – if only one

The road map of our history
Of defeat and also victory
Of love and strife
And this thing called life

But yet we plod along
Forward, forward with step and song
Through desert and through sand
Towards our promised land

Yes, we look back from time to time
To past delicacies that were sublime
Our mind at times does wander back
To a place of sepia and white and black

But yet we plod along
Even if there’s sadness in our song
For our hope is to move ahead
To place of rest, eternal bed

With Hands that Weep

It was a liquid wall – a wave so exceptionally massive
Foreboding and catching unawares, tossing into passive
Submission of bodily functions violently shaken
White noise crashing through sandy pores
Tearing fingers along broken bottles to
Billions of bubbles bursting between salty motes
Sucking hideous gulps of brine in lung full rotes

Where serenity hides amongst coral flutes
To seek you out and shove you deep
As a soul is crossed and taken by reap
With hands that weep
Across a soundless plain
Devoid of pleasure, yet not of pain

A journey through light, a glittering void
Filled with those seeking past and present
Where worlds collide to anoint a soul
Before the hands of time; and
Commit to dust, a body belonging
To the ordinary world

Where loved ones drip upon a wasted shore
To hunch and punch
A chest that’s cold to disbelief at
Eyes that speak through windowless souls
Of a place that’s reached beyond
The hands that scream and weep

Over a body that belonged to the ordinary world

Reflecting With Ralph

I used to roam the fields and hunt
Walk all day with nary a grunt
Train the dogs to confront a quail
Spend the night recalling their trail

I used to go to shops and trade
Be delighted with deals I made
Items others had rejected
I found, restored, and collected

I repaired old cars with my hands
Then ran the roads with bluegrass bands
Played music and to songs gave voice
Helping the crowds to laugh and rejoice

Then life took a different tone
The music stopped, my body groaned
I required help to get on my feet
Then someone had to help me eat

My voice grew weak, my mind did fade
For each function I needed aid
In spite of frustration and pain
I tried my best not to complain

Then came a longing in my soul
I began to reach for the goal
No more in this bed I would lie
I was tired, it was time to die

Then you gathered around my bed
Spoke softly, gently stroked my head
Sang the familiar gospel songs
As I prepared for the ransomed throng

As you gathered and sang below
I heard a voice say, it’s time to go
God in heaven His angel sent
And I left behind my earthly tent

I joined the choir right from the start
They have given me a good part
I want you each to realize
With the saints I now harmonize.

Bus Time

The weekly bus that carries
the old ones from the village
to do their weekly shop
fills with shaken umbrellas
and eager tales of morbidity.

You know those water tablets
that Jane’s been taking for her blood?
Well they’ve affected her kidneys now,
and she’s got oedema.
You should see her ankles:
like balloons, they are.

The rain has stopped, the sun
dazzles the seats around me,
warming the air and our faces;
beads glisten down the windows;
the driver hums a tune;
the journey smiles.

Janet found a growth –
it turned out benign but
she fell and broke her wrist.
I’m doing her shopping.
And as for Billy’s verruca . . . Well!

The sun has failed to shun
the cloudy conversation,
gives up, ushers back the rain.
Rain is happy here: cheer is so obviously
no substitute for this bus-time babble.
Sickness over health is preferred.

I push my earphones further in,
crank up the volume and enjoy
that radio hospital drama
I downloaded yesterday.

Sam, I am

If I had a secret that I wanted to share with you Dare you open your mind and let my creativity ensue? I don’t build bridges with bricks, I hang them with rope I can generate your fantasies and incubate your hope Open the pages of my mind, reading the fiery words of my heart Enter Pandora’s Box, and the epic journey will start! Follow me down south, through the mirror of liquid glass You’ll feel the calmness take over and watch the fear pass What a wonderful feeling, letting your inhibitions go into the night Now step forward onto the phoenix, as you drift into the light This journey isn’t everlasting, you know that it comes with a price? What? Did you think it was free? wouldn't that have been nice Open your eyes from delusion, and friend you will piece things together My name is Sam, Satan or The devil, that’s how I'll been known as forever! OK, so I tricked you, with my words and devilish charm What were you expecting? I’m frigging Satan dude, my job is sadistic harm! You look at me with those puppy dog eyes, you realise you've lost all of your family ties My head tells me to give you a second chance, double or quits is where my desire lies Do you accept the new twist, on my board game that is your life? I’ll take that hesitant nod as a yes, and commence this game of strife Give me the name of a family member and they can take your place However I will warn you, if you can’t then I win this twisted race No! You scream, and that’s your final answer which I’ll have to take Now I own not only your soul, but your families when they next shall wake He took my hand and promised peace for my sisters and brothers Now I’ve gambled with the devil and he owns my beloved others The deal is now done and a fiery rain begins to fall Burning me down to ash, disintegrating my world and all

Humming Bird Dreams

I smile as it seems to be,
The wind came to play with me.
 For i lay in bed,
Ill for what seems like forever.
I cannot move or dance myself,
So the wind and my dreams dance together.
I watch as the humming birds made of lace,
 come alive before my eyes.
I love to watch the sweet caress,
Of the lacy blinds against the open glass.
I love to watch as my dreams take me,
Dancing me out my small window
To the open land and tall trees,
To the light in the skies,
And the smell of the seas.
I laugh as i slip away into my dreams,
Now i can dance for myself.

The soul goes on

I guess that life shapes us, our bodies
minds and souls. We start of so fragile
but with thirsty minds that are ever growing.
Many things may happen as life can be so cruel,
we take the battering's some invisible and never
showing.

Yet we push on to reach our goals as we are
no ones fool. Our bodies can break and our minds
can make us sick, this life is but a journey it
shall take more to blacken our souls.

BEN'S TONE

Big Ben chimes (resting) his 88th life-line
His oratory socialistically left explicitly refined
Always rallying heads above the gut-venting whines
Dissenting oratory silenced it seems, but only by Mr Time
His Popeye pipe yet resonates, smoking symbolic his inclined
A Bentonite legacy, a Ben store for the waking walking primed
RIP “The Tony” one... your way is thus comprehensively enshrined

hope: merge with the large

money, always, easily slipped
through my fingers
lands that i tried to own also slid
quickly from my hand

the bed i slept in the night
someone else secretly
occupied in the day

the juvenile bird i cuddled
in my bosom
to give warm comfort and a nest
flew away to build her own

my remains too, soon
the fire will consume
leaving, perhaps, my soul
to merge with that larger soul
that welcomingly smiles
from behind the veil

The Visit

11:21 PM 9/27/01 The Visit

I sit in splendor amongst the sun
Of an afternoon sky

Surrounded
I look below to see the stones
Skyward proud they stand

Some I know, most imagined
All the quieter now

Deer travel the fringes here
Off to the East a bit
Never to offend these resting souls
Passersby in life

In a moment of silence I sit......
Remembering
How precious life can be

How voices no longer heard
Can resound within the soul
Lighten the sky in brilliance
Form clouds in shapes of love

Me in the afternoon sun
And you in my beating heart

A reflection of the day

Another Journey

The journey begins
Long before any can know
But you understood
There was much further to go

 We live out our lives
And we all have our dreams
But our time here together
It's not quite as it seems

 There is something more
That most travellers can’t see
But you knew the secret
Of just what we can be

 A never-ending circle
That time will always renew
A connected universe
You’re heart always held true

Whoever we are
Be it strangers or friends
We are part of this journey
From the beginning, it never ends

You’re passing will hurt
We will feel loss and the pain
But your spirit’s released
Beginning its journey, anew yet again

Some will believe
That your time here is through
But you are now free
Just another journey for you

When there’s nothing more left
And life leaves nowhere to hide
I’m happy to know you're travelling
Right here at my side

Journey's end

Oh, keep the window open wide
and let me see the world outside
my body's caught now, in this room
my mind still yearns despite the gloom
to see, to learn, to watch, explore
what this old world may have in store
for this old man, there's much to know
while legs may fail, the heart still grows

Oh, let my ears hear all the news
the good, the bad, the lies, the truths
the tragedies, the joyous times
when friends pass on and bells do chime
don't hide from me, please let me see
all that there is; all that there'll be

And let me feel, all that remains
the simple pleasures and the pain
don't take from me what I must face
while I still lie here in this place

For this is life; our memories
they're all we take from this journey
the days, the weeks, the months, the years
the smiles, the laughs, the hurts, the tears

I'll hold each one with tender care
as I wait for what comes next, out there
a journey to a place that's new
where I'll go first and wait for you

And all these things that I have seen
the sounds I've heard, where I have been
I'll leave them out where you can see,
the place beyond, where I will be

Tonight As I Veiwed Your Remains

A few days ago your battle with MS ended
And your last breath was drawn
You peacfully closed your eyes
And your final journey carried you Home.

You went to be with your Saviour
As he awaited you on His Throne
Your struggles of this earth were over
For He sent His Son to rescue you
And gently placed you in His arms.

Your body now so small and flare
And with no strenght left to live...
Accepted His out stretched arms
And away He took you
Departing as the Dove.......
'The Dove Thats' Controlled by God's Will'

He carried you to see your earthly father
Whom you lost suddenly as a very young man
God knew how you had loved and missed him
So He placed Mr. Luker right within your palmed hand.

Your three sons ( the second of which I barred)
Were all there with you
When the 'Death Angel'
Made It's way into the room.

Each with tears of pain rolling down their cheeks
Helplessly watching knowing nothing
Could be done to keep their daddy from leaving that room
Each trying to prepared themselves
For what lay just hours ahead.

They sat with each other
As each one fought hard to be a strong man
Each one knowing they were losing their daddy
And also losing their best friend.

Trying to remain strong for little sister
Knowing she and her mom were on their way
For they knew she was too young to understand
And they would have to chose the right words to say.

To tell her of ........
This 'Final Journey Home' and it's departure
Of Life and Death....
The 'Journey' her daddy (and she must be told)
Has aboarded and he has already left.

Jimmy rest in peace now and move about in 'Your Heavely Home'
You have lefted behind alot of 'Widsom and Knowledge'
As you were struggling daily to live....
But accept your Rewards now and rejoy in the Lord.....
You're in Heaven now..........Where there is no more pains..........
There is no more burdens.....There is no more worries....... It is finally all over.

Look below now and see all is o.k.
After all, don't you remember talking to and teaching your children
And telling strangers
About our Almightly God?
And about the Lord?

I will always remember you, Cecilia
Jimmy died April 16, 2008 after 22 years of living with MS. He fought a hard
battle till the end.

To My Loved Ones

Light as a feather Free as a bird, Untethered. My soul takes flight Bound for I know not where, Yet I know that I must go. Like those who have passed before me, Now it is my time. It is with mixed emotions that I leave This world, my family and my friends. Then wings of faith embrace me And I feel my spirit soar. The angels envelope me In a welcoming embrace, My dear old friends surround me. I have reached my destination. And so, my loved ones, Smile through your tears In fond remembrance of lives shared. And when it is your time to pass And you must begin your journey alone, My hand will be the one Reaching out to guide you on your journey home.

Memoirs of Pope John Paul II

He gave me a strong impact,
with his gift for immemorial gestures;
he embraced the sick and handicapped
he kissed the soil of the nation on his first vist.

As an occupant of the Chair of St Peter,
he brought the world, a message to everyone
his defense for the poor, a substance to carry on
as a church in her journey across cultures.

The awesome volume of his writings,
reveal the kind of pope he was
as a theologian suffused with faith;
as a philosopher endowed with reason.

In his very person, he was charismatic
as a teacher and defender of faith,
he set new directions, left a legacy
and continued the Roman Curia, multicultural.

On themes expounded in his documents,
speeches, homilies and reflections,
he brought the Gospel vis-a-vis the Magisterium
in all spheres that concern contemporary life.

As the first non-Italian pope in 455 years,
since the Netherlander Hadrian VI in 1552
and ever since his election to papacy,
by any measure, he’s a man for all seasons.

Albeit, he’d his disappointments,
his own share of sorrows over clergy in misbehavior –
the scandal of sexual abuse, particularly in this nation,
he remained firm and prayerful as a leader.

In spite of his frailty, Parkinson’s disease and other ailments
he continued his journey with deep faith and sacrifice.
his interreligious relations made a difference,
he visited mosques, synagogues and convened those other leaders.

He canonized saints more than 470 of them,
he beatified more than a thousand men and women.
such a milestone in the life of our Catholicism,
the call to holiness woven in discipleship.

He impressed believers of every faith
with his greatness in many ways;
like one of his favorite phrases,
quoting what St Augustine once said,
“Vobis sum episcopus, vobiscum christianus,”
he celebrated life, helped shape Christendom
with analyses of countless human lives.

Shallow grave

Shallow grave
Out of the clay
In new breath of life
Fire tested
Beneath this weeping willow my soul rested
Motionless as a statue
Forever stuck in place
Out of the tar pits
Dirty unclean by your eyes
Who will save me now?
My life molded out of clay
In vain I shaped my own image
Made my own ways
40 yrs in the desert
Thirsty for a cool sip
But water is not found
Out here in the dryness of this hollow grave
I been stranded alone on an island
The island of misfit toys
But here I sit alone
Unwanted by the unwanted
A loveless soul
Is never what I wanted
But here I rot
Will you join me?
Shall I save you a spot?
In my final resting place
Staring at the sun
Till my eyes burn
Blinded by the light
So that I may not see my fate
Living careless was my misfortune
My one mistake
Weeping eyes cry
A dead man soul dies
No loose ends
Said all my good byes
But a muted voice goes unheard
Curtains close tonight
This is the end..

A DROP OF WINE

A DROP OF WINE

A drop of wine shall fall...
On to a doublet
Staining forever
What was snowy white
Blood red
A passing during the night

A walk along the castle wall
I was there
I saw you fall
Taken from me
I heard you call

A drop of wine shall fall
Blood red
Staining forever
My heart instead

It started as a game...
Skipping across parapets
Such delight!
You needed it
Always done at night
A free spirit...
In all but name

You delighted us all,
with your antics in the Great Hall
I saw you fall
From a parapet
My heart ,leapt

You cannot conquer
The journey within
A drop of wine
Shall fall
On to my heart
Blood red
You will always be mine
Inwards , I bled

The call of tiny birds
Fluttering of wings
Took you to the stars
Where you saw,
so many wonderful things

The journey within...
Can sometimes begin
With a drop of wine
Blood red
Staining forever
Hearts , instead

Death

Death be not proud, for your hold over me
is not withstanding, and your grip is weak.
You’ll not have my soul, though my body is already yours.
I shall keep with me all that makes me absolute.
Sickness and death shall recede from me
and all that will be left is the greatness that once lived.
Death is not the final destination, but the beginning
of a new road less traveled by others.
My journey is not at an end, only at an impasse.
I will continue onto the next journey that awaits me.
And as for Death, it shall to me be but an inconvenience,
and nothing more. For Death will not be feared by me.
Death is nothing but a notion amplified by the insane.
An illusion told to bad children to make them behave.

Morbid Nightmare

Morbid nightmare for the feelings that run wild
inner feelings i kept hiden tightly from the
world as a child.
Desparation on an endless journey but there
is no reality only obsession that i am urning.
Traviling a twisted road that seems impossable
to follow and thinking back on the past has
giving me nothing but greif an sorrow.
The war between coruption an hate pins you
to a chair
You here what those people are whispering
but you choose not to care.
Morbid nightmare your only true escape
but your stuck inbetween a dream that wants
to become your gate.
Sometimes you dont want to wake up hoping
that you might find
A wired shut mouth with a little peice
of mind.
There can be no haven until the final nightmare
so lye on your bed and close your eyes
but always beware.
You have finally enterd yout dream of morbid nightmare
Just be reminded of the knowledge you do not
share.
You come across three small children who have
no need for a protector
so you pss an begin your journey scared of
what you may encounter.
Intemidated by the blackness of the night an
the coldness of your heart
you feel as if your soul is being taken an
torn all apart.
You come across a hill covered by thick sand
and you feel forces full of rage moving like
wraths across the land.
You reach the top and look down only to find
an endless drop to an endless dream
You realize there is no way out so you close
your eyes an begin to scream
searching for a refuge from this unwanting dare
but there is no sanity that awaits for you because
you promised your soul to a morbid nightmare

Think of Me

Think of me as you stand there
You're entering a new life
Have new friends
You left the past behind
And with that past you left me
You were all that truly mattered to me
I thought you really cared
I thought together we would begin this journey
A journey into the future
But you left without me
You began a journey you promised to share
I was left to mourn the loss of a friend
Without you I had no future
Nothing to look towards
Nothing on my horizon
Without a future I wanted no life
I ended the pain
Left behind the sorrow
I gave into the thoughts
What good was I without you
What did I have left
What was my reason to hold on
You learned of my death
Realized what had been done
Do you miss me
Do you wish you could go back
Was it worth it
Do you still think back on our past
Look at your future
Was the death of our friendship worth it
Worth all you now have
Was my death in vain
