Growing With Love Always

Spring menu of snowdrops, daffodils, dandelion, crocus and anemones
Each color blossoms the beauty swaying inside a breeze dancing thoughts

The image of spring changed colors roaring never thought my heart might burst
Within waves blowing kisses warmly touching the chambers endless bliss

The moment the sun draws the mist from the sea to the skies feels magical
Your footprints on deep sands fluttering wings of an angel beaming sunshine

Under the wing of an angel you will find safety, happiness and beauty
held within a gasping breath your love true and complete beautiful

SPRINGTIME

Springtime paints such a delightful scene Cute lambs gambol in the fields so green Warm winds whisper through the leafy trees Blossoms float down on a swirling breeze Daffodils daintily dance and shake their heads Bringing bright yellow sunshine to our flowerbeds 3rd February 2015

The Glory of Green

Green hues denote the healing of our earth,
That special season of springtime’s rebirth.

Green grasses growing o’er the hillsides face,
Embracing greening trees in leafy lace.

While amber fields engage in heaven’s kiss
As raindrops splash into emerald bliss,

I watch amazed as tender shoots abound
With daffodils and tulips breaking ground.

A floral scent begins to fill March air.
St. Patty’s I’ll wear flowers in my hair.

So many varied hues that can be seen,
This Irish lass loves every shade of green!

Green Envy

When youth in full bloom
during Spring's green boom

See a robin fly by
or geese in the sky

Do not feel impressed
by Spring's new green dress

Thoughts all aflutter
tongues twist and mutter

When pretty young girls
with green bows and curls

Skip by with their friends
chit chat without end

Spring's green with envy
can't feel the frenzy

She plunks herself down
a sullen green frown

Soon clouds fill the sky
big tears fall from high

People just scatter
What is the matter?

Dear Spring takes a look
at the smiles she took

Demeanour improved
Her Green-ness is soothed.

A Day When Winter Said Goodbye

In the midst of morn she quietly rose to greet the dawn of silent repose She searched beyond the frozen hills and through the bough's of crystal frills She danced in dream as clouds rolled by in hopes the sun would pierce the sky As moments passed nil of light the wind kicked up with all it's might In tumbling turmoil the west winds raged in fluttering beauty to turn the page Within a breath a single sigh the Winter wrath had waved goodbye As sunlight burned of velvet white upon her face a shaft of light... ______________________________________ Poet ~ Rick Parise

Spring Vs Summer

~Spring versus Summer~ (Rhyme) Spring is slowly leaving And summer is swiftly arriving And for me that really matter Because the days are getting hotter I love spring but mostly I love fall That's when I really have a ball That's when the days are just kinder By reminding me when days are just better! I hate to see spring go, And for summer to my door just to show, I don't like to feel all the heat, Because that's when my body takes the beat I prefer much better the cold weather But I like it more when we are together, Lots of rain and winds start to fall and blow, Spring is about to exit and take her bow Spring is slowly leaving And summer is swiftly arriving It makes me sad to see spring go And for summer to my door just to show. Singing Blue Blazes

As the snowdrops nod happily when you kissed my soul warmly love
laughing in the cold spring air so stirringly beautiful flutters wings of a dove

The daffodils yawn awakening to new life or so it seems
sun beams smile inside a thousand songs sweetly my dream

Birds singing freely dawning tunes deep heartfelt desire
you are amazing one faraway flame kissing beats on fire

YEARNING FOR SPRING

nature sings softly her lively recital
everything is glorious and looks vital
the swans exhibit courtship behavior
their dances visual pieces for their spring-paviour

thrushes chitter their earliest symphony
birdseed germinates and outspreads spring widely
two newts show a beautiful mating dance
strawberry plants use their early spring chance

a show of new born green just above the ground
alders pollen causing sneezing peoples' sound
few snowdrops, celandine, white dead nettle
and hazel trees show leaves and huge mettle

appetite dictates this walk with our dog
a craved annual entry in our blog
at length awaited while walking and watching
dozens of reasons for thinking and talking

the artificial Christmas tree just packed
the baubles and the glass peak safely wrapped
a large cup of hot chocolate a good mate
served forthwith stale Christmas cookies on a plate

Garden Pests

'Tis another glorious spring and I planted my garden with the expectation,
That I shall reap a bountiful harvest for my table with minimum frustration!

I planted the usual stuff - carrots, radishes, onions and termaters,
Watermelons, peas, corn, beans and a few hills of russet pertaters.

With the Good Lord's help, lots of sun and occasional showers of rain,
The seeds sprang to life along with some curses that are my infernal bane!

I've discovered that I have a healthy crop of weeds that need attention,
And a host of other intrusive visitors that I'll proceed to mention!

I was dismayed to discover legions of caterpillars and mealy bugs,
Pruning my plants along with hordes of ugly snails and slimy slugs!

They're even being attacked from below by gophers and moles,
And from above by crows making diving sorties from the clothesline poles!

'Coons, 'possums and wabbits at raiding my garden are very deft,
And armies of well-disciplined ants are gleaning what is left!

I even caught some nasty little kids filching a watermelon last night!
I chased them but those little dudes took off with the speed of light!

With a storm of wind and hail this morn I saw all my labor disappear!
Come next spring I think I shall opt to sit on the patio and guzzle beer!

If Ava Lu invited you

   Spring tea,I'm invited
you are too ,'cause she's decided
underneath the willow tree
served a little after three
  baby bear and kitty cat
sit right where they've always sat
but now she's put us on the right
beside the zebra black and white
  they're already stuffed you see
from eating cookies at spring tea
she has pots and pans to clean
from all her baking in between
doling out the china berries
"Don't eat them ,they aren't
really cherries".
She makes cookies out of sand
a little water and they're grand
she will scold you if you're late
she meets you at the garden gate
escorts you to your special place
she has icing on her face
from the cupcakes Mommy brings
to mix them in with all those things
the leaves and acorns on our tray
Spring Tea gets better every day
When you're almost,nearly four
you learn to serve, you learn to pour
just think how boring life would be
If not invited to SpringTea.

Spring on the Farm

Those of us who live on farms
Aren’t immune to springtime's charms
We simply take a different view
Spring to us is mostly poo

While others trill of daffodils
And daisies blooming on the hills
We gaze upon the cattle herds
And think about those mounds of turds

As snow and ice vacate the ground
We see revealed another mound
And chickens at a steady rate
Hunt and peck and defecate

The fluffy white gamboling lambs
And piglets destined to be hams
All leave their fragrant calling cards
Throughout the meadows, fields and yards

As others rave about the birth
Of sweet green seedlings from the earth
We head out with our boots and spade
To shovel dung from out the glade

Collecting it can be a chore
But all that fragrant rich manure
Hauled from pasture, field and stable
Nourish foods that grace our table

A RED MOON

Love was as hot as a red moon.
Passion was on fire and was soothed.

A total lunar eclipse occurred on April 15.
The moon was coopery red.

The warmth of her blood was astrologically aligned.
Mother Earth was with her Sun God.

She stood majestically in his eyes.
The core of his being was a deep arousal of desire.

Early Spring

*A Collaboration

The snow that shrinks in the glen and the wood
Would gladly stay through the spring if it could.

While clouds have flown to free the sapphire sky,
The liquid snow of winter tumbles by.

It melts into puddles of liquid gold
As the sun's growing warmth exiles the cold.

The warming sun highlights the tips of trees,
Inviting new growth, encouraging bees.

The swaying daffodils are in full bloom,
Yet others sleep in Mother Nature’s womb.

Tiny green buds are peeking from the trees
And big, white blossoms are soon to be seen!

The spring flowers raise their heads to the sun,
Soon to be used for Easter bonnet fun.

The coming spring

I can touch buds on spring flowers as they open to greet the sun
Smell a sweet scent in the breeze, as the darkness starts to run

feel on my cheek ray's of the sun as life emerges from their bed
I taste the salt from my tears, GONE, is that what they said?

If come spring my time on earth, should be ended with one word
I will do my best for family, to teach reason and spread your word

How do I teach family of my knowledge, hope God will please employ
How can this man teach his family, when he has lost all hope and joy?

Can the only one on earth to love or share this sorrow with be you
Lost like falling leaves of spring, moving only when a cold wind blew

Realizing I'm caught between dying and dead just as these leaves
No happiness or joy just asking why, when, what or if I have to leave

Make good use of this man but, children dying take hope from this old boy
grand-child can't live, why should I survive without love, hope and joy?

Death is a thief of a child

"If spring is all the time I have to finish teaching what I know
I'll teach what I can of life to my family without shedding tears"

Spring

Did you hear my longing for a dress of green
during winter’s sleep, Oh, how long I dreamed!
Missing those coverings of my graceful limbs
and yes, too, the blossoms of fairy dust whims

Fancy meeting you, here, at my new birth revival
finding your muse within my greenings arrival
Warmer winds catching my new sprouting leaves
I’ll dance for your pleasure and hope you are pleased

Awakening roots draw from the earth living water
Watch where you step those that rise are a bother
Of my need for this dress there can be no denial
For oxygen spent from it will grant your survival

That scar that you carved on my truck just last year
has become the tattoo that reminds of your tears
When you feel you must trim my broken limbs
remember to raise thoughtfully my new dress’s hem

Spring

A little bit confused was beautiful Spring,
She had to choose for life a bridegroom.
Who will give her a wedding ring?
Three men wanted to be her happy and bloom.

March, April and May vied with each other.
About their great love they quietly talked.
April was for Spring like a brother,
With March she just often liked to walk.

Timid March gave her beautiful primroses,
Out of snowdrops he made a wreath,
He didn’t want to know any losses,
He promised her the whole world’s wealth.

Delicate and sweet was April.
He gave her a necklace of brilliant drops.
The life with him could be stable, - he said,
She’d be rich and would get good crops.

A wonderful May pleaded Spring:
You are my love! Take my wedding ring!
Be quick, Spring! Be my wife!
We’d be happy together the whole life.

And Spring trusted the handsome May.
Without any delay she sewed the white dress,
For the veil she took the apples blossoms.
That was her best and the happiest day.

The whole world was whirling in the dance.
May was getting married with Spring!
The Earth was full of love and romance,
Happiness to all this marriage would bring.

I'd gladly sing a song for Spring

I do not write in April, because that’s the month that comes before May.
I do not write in April, because then June would arrive in total disarray!

I do not write in April, now, although I have before this day.
I do not write in April, actually, although with words I’m known to play.

I do not write in April, when there’s ANZAC’s, Easter and Palm Sunday.
I do not write in April, and from that delicate decree I’ll not go astray.

I do not write in April, but exactly why, I can’t quite say.
I do not write in April, and it’s for the best, that here, I don’t betray.

I do not write in April, although I do read papers from my in-tray.
I do not write in April, so you won’t find any papers in my out-tray.

I do not write in April, when I’m outside whiling my time away.
I do not write in April, for that fills my insides with strange dismay!

I do not write in April, for I’ll not wear a wreath like a gloomy lay!
I do not write in April, but I’ll cheerfully whistle down your way.

I do not write in April come whatever, come what may.
I do not write in April. I do not write in April I say!

I do not write in April, but I’d gladly sing a song for Spring to stay.

A Bouquet For All Seasons

Seems appropriate in January, when the snow has yet to stop That the flower of the month would be a lovely white Snowdrop Then when February comes, we've still frost on our nose But not so much that we can't smell the fragrance of Primrose In March we're all waiting to hear the spring birds trill And up through the snow there pops the Yellow Daffodil Next April showers welcome spring and we begin to see New life out in the garden with the delicate Sweet Pea The Lilly of the Valley represents the month of May With tiny little blossoms, like white pearls on display The summers now upon us and in June the garden grows The princess of all flowers, the beautiful Cream Rose July, full of sunshine, warms the waters of the ponds Smiling on the Waterlily's, with their graceful fronds In August as in Flanders fields, we see the Poppies grow Showing off their colors, letting their beauty show Mine is the Deep Blue Aster, in September I arrived And though the days are cooler now, it's blossoms have survived Cosmos are for October, harbingers of fall But with their fragrant blossoms, warmer days recall And what would be November without the hardy Mum Unlike the other flowers, to winter won't succumb And finally in December with shiny leaves of green Holly brightens up our days, hail to winters queen

For Spring to Come

For Spring to Come
For spring to come we can hardly wait; In every part of it want to participate; Hear birds sing as flowers start to grow Watch fine fields while they will flow.

Leaves turned green which were brown; And spring showers started falling down, With water that eventually by now brings Born butterflies soon with beautiful wings.

Sun will start shining more each day
Pretty soon clouds are passing away; Sky becomes Carolina blue and clear, After all of gray color did disappear.

A while now, nearby, spring has been, While we always wanted to see it again; So silently spring surely started to fade; Summer was here as we sat in the shade.

Springtime romance contest

Going out on a date calling around at nine
We are to wrap up warm no high  heels this time

Dressed in thick sweaters trainers on our feet
We drove to the river a boat was waiting looking sleek

Jumped aboard and off  to go wind in the sails so strong
Heading for an island when everything went wrong

Wind dropped sail  hanging limp nothing we could do
Looked at each other with smouldering looks, both knew

How we ended up on a bunk not sure that's true
But know when we made love our minds just blew

Spring is in the air so the saying  goes
Know how those rabbits feel with libidos all aglow

Peeping out of the porthole just looked  and stared
The boat had drifted to the island where a hamper had been prepared

Picnicked with a blanket on the ground, had bubbly up my nose
Ate smoked salmon with rye, dozed dreamily rubbing my toes

It has been a lovely day though not quite what we had in mind
Think spring is our favourite season with summer not far behind.

Spring Love

                                ~Spring Love~
Lying on the bank of the river, fingers dabble in the flow
Your head across my stomach, watching the waters go.

Little fluffy ducks abound, and new damsel flies unfurl
The early season brown trout leap, and make a splashing swirl.

Fingers running through your hair, my body satisfied and warm
You trace my lips with your finger, we're hidden from the brewing storm.

The storm we know will hit us, and what will we do then?
But cherish this stolen time together, in our sheltered glen.

Kisses that fall like the spring time rain
We know not when it will happen again?

Spring comes but once a year and we grasp it with both hands
We cherish and watch the buds explode; leaf covers the new born land.

Fingertips that may not touch, in the next seasons rising sun
Time to move on our way, another season begun…

How do we pretend ,that there is no spark of love?
It’s like trying to stop the clouds that form in the heavens above.

Good day my beloved one another spring will come
Perhaps we will share it, under another rising sun.

They're Eatin' Me Outta House And Home

I'm lookin' forward to the arrival of spring with great anticipation,

With the bloomin' of purty flowers and much needed precipitation!

All winter long I've supported the local squirrel and avian population!

Word seems to have gotten 'round that there's free grub at my location!

They're eatin' me outta house and home causin' me some serious privation!

Hopefully, with arrival of spring them fellers will consider migration,

Seekin' other climes for their foragin' causin' me much less aggravation!

My very first love

The very first blossom of spring
Is an early gift that summer will bring

The very first shower that falls
Is an answer to a parched earth’s calls

The very first castles of cumulus high
Cruises the sea of a blue desert sky

The very first swallow that sews tattered cloud
Is met by a buffet of a flying ant crowd

The very first day that I looked upon you
I heard Cupid’s chuckle as my heart was pierced through

The very first kiss that I stole full of doubt
Was answered by rain from your love’s soft rich cloud

The very first kiss held the promise of spring
A promise of summer that your love would bring

Spring

Spring is here, the birds are singing everywhere
Bright colored flowers smell so sweet they fill the air
The warm spring breeze swaying the leaves on the trees
Children are so happy they run and they play
Thinking of summers vacation coming closer each day
And the feeling that everything is starting anew
How lucky we all are that God made this season for me and for you

Let's plant a Garden

Let's plant a garden, you and me,
let's not ask for pardon, just let it be,
let's watch the seedlings grow, with love.
a magical primrose, blessed from above.
you bring the sprouts, I'll clear the spot,
what I'm dreaming about, the idea I got.
plant a garden, yours, mine and ours together,
ask for no pardon, and grow it for forever

Spring to Life

By a road traversed by many
 Where few uphold her beauty
She stood a figure so queer
 Which only drew me near

I wonder if she'll ever know
How marvelous she was in snow
 She shields her blessed bloom
Which blossom till the warmth of June

A gentle shove upsetting her stance
Her echo besets a familiar dance

Sentiments have no place in my heart
 But beneath this enthralling arch
The falling fragrance of floral grace
Shall trickle my soul to its sweet embrace.

Rebirth

A flower rejects the chill of winter's icy constrain
to bathe in harmony with the heavenly spring rain

A princely frog on his lily pad chains
awaits his mate and descent of fertile spring rains

A sly fox trying to survive his hunger pains
cunningly awaits the lifesaving spring rain

A farmers precious crop would be sown in vain
without the arrival of blessed spring rain

When harsh winters leave us desolate and drained
we embrace in the bosom of the rejuvenating spring rain
