~Moon & Sea~

Hey boy won't you open that door?
Let's sing and walk by the shore

Come and spread out your eyes
Block looking for reasons, and whys?

The cosmos are more than a space to explore
Don't hide when I need.... Plus more.

Finish playing a master in disguise!
Lets find the perfect sunrise, sunset surprise.

Put your arms around me
Allow your moon to reflect off my sea

Too much time has passed you by
Come outside with and view the horizon up high

I've got my eyes set upon you
There's no need to feel blue

Hey boy comes, climb up this tree!
I'm going to show you all the things you can't touch, you can't see.

Lets fit the luxury and beauty of this world into our play.
Don't say them words that will set me free to walk away.

Take this kiss and see how it feel deep within your heart.
Close your eyes in my garden, and draw with the fragrance of art

I want to take you into that space, astronomy love.
Making it easy to float with the clouds way up above.

Glide away from the blame of gravity and self destruct.
Bounce of the dust of hurt when you fall and get cut.

Boy, let's hold in this perfect air together.
Leave the cold end of someone else's weather.

Follow me beyond the distance of chemistry.
I will expose your moon and explain the physics of my sea.

Give it another chance and you will see!
Your moon, is skin deep, needing water from me.

Turn on the tune in your heart, and listen to me.
In every sunrise, the moon entwines with the sea.

Arabian Mist

"The Arabian Nights"

Underneath the oceans veil.
Mystery lies within.
Beyond Orion's belt, I shift my mind to sail.
Within me, every constellations hides secrets of sin.

Allowing me, to time frame the world of yesterday.
I found portals with no way-out.
Covering every bruise that my body had on display.
Drawing along the mist of no doubt!

I tie eternity into loopholes with no ending.
Singing a song that lacks the strength to be strong.
Trying hard to swallow words that have no mending.
Babbling at my tongue, when one's heart is wrong.

I hide in the light, away from the darken mist.
A sprint sensation lurking down-under.
Anthologies written only to exist.
A place that strikes louder than thunder.

Eyes that port and slow everything down.
Mysteries behind, a deadly desert storm.
Slaving under the 3rd crown.
Candlelight's guiding a new wedding form.

Executed in a thousand tales, of romance.
Knocking at my door ending another dream.
A sensual marriage with regrets, and loss of chance.
Dancing streams with no means.

Avalon, closing over an Arabic Night.
A story cradling me in bed.
By morning dawn I will no longer see light.
Waking up to another Arabian Night.

. by;p.d.

NOTE~ I read the book 5 years ago.
the book is Full of mischief, valor, ribaldry, and romance,
plus more.
I based my poem On the Queen,
Who's Husband would kill his new wife after one night of marriage...
Most of my lines are metaphorical, about the mysteries and stories told...

Leprechauns, Fairies & All That I Need

Way back in the woods all nestled away
I found the place where Leprechauns play

To find the place I had to first find the door
Keeping it hidden is what the Waterfall is for

Behind the falls there lies a mystical cave
To scale the cliff one must be very brave

As you enter the cave these words are true
The most magical of places is waiting for you

The cave is not dark in fact it’s rather bright
For thousands of crystals are beaming with light

As you pass through the cave it is so clear to see
There are places on earth where men shouldn’t be

As I stepped out of the cave on the other side
My own amazement I could never hide

There were waterfalls, Rainbows & Butterflies galore
I felt as though I had stepped through Heavens door

As I took to the path it suddenly occurred to me
This path is made out of gold, as gold as could be

I looked at a tree stump and got lost in the spell
For the sign in front said, “The Leprechaun Hotel”

A hundred tiny windows were all beaming with light
For the sun had just dropped, dropped clean out of sight

A whole world had lit up right before me
Mushrooms were homes for Fairies you see

Sometimes in life we embrace the magic of a spell
Mystical creatures in heaven, far as my eyes could tell

The fairies were tiny angels that lit up the night
I’ve never seen anything so beautiful and bright

Then all at once a feeling took over my soul
And I truly felt that it was time I should go

As I turned to leave I heard a Leprechaun say
From all of this gold you’ll just walk away

The fairy said, “One wish is granted to you”
“Make any wish you like and it will come true”

I explained how wealth was once all that I sought
And my dreams and wishes were already bought

You see God sent an Angel who planted a seed
That sprouted our love, which is all that I need

Inspired by a wall painting at my Dentist office
and written for my wife.

Horse From Mars

It came from the sky, a gray silver stallion.
I looked up high, and I have also seen a dragon.

With so many things in this universe.
I'm on stand-by with a camera in my purse.

Who would have known I'd be the first to spot a PEGASUS.
The town folks wave hi every time I walk my hippopotamus.

I enjoy showing everyone, my pictures of a flying horse.
I don't see why they call a DOCTOR every time I call the TASK FORCE

I think they are jealous over all the things I've seen.
They act all crazy since I sighted a LEPRECHAUN when I was fourteen.

No one ever believed me when I saw an army of dragonflies.
They have a name for me "the boy who See's too much in the skies!"

I don't know why they can't see what I see.
For all I know they are all experiments under Alien Technology.

They don't believe me how I got this magic MEDALLION.
It was a friendly gift from the silver stallion.

I also have many pictures of a UNICORN.
We became best-friends when he gave me a piece of its magic horn.

We sat together while he drank from the lake.
We enjoyed talking, --talking about how U.F.O.'s are fake.

Why can't they see? The day I fell off a boat, I got rescued by a MERMAID!
Who would have known a mermaid swim around with first-aid.

I also remember the day I followed a LEPRECHAUNS.
We were playing under the rainbow having so much fun.

When I told my doctor about all the things I've seen.
He locked me in a DUNGEON, thinking I was the ALIEN QUEEN.

I begged and I told him I don't believe in any type of alien.
Too bad the master of this dungeon came from another region.

In a way he looks like that one SILVER STALLION from Mars.
The first creature I'd seen the day I fell off the monkey bars.

I have this picture of this horse of course.
JUST help me out of this white-jacket!!! ;-)
If you want to see the coolest picture of a flying horse.

The Psychostasia

The Psychostasia
(The Egyptian Funerary Rite)

For seventy days I’ve been prepared
With oils and unguents ever so rare
And with linen bandages to and fro
Wound and wrapped from head to toe

And on this journey I’m prepared to start
By enduring the “Weighing of the Heart”
With Toth’s oversight we’ll see whether
My heart weighs true against Truth’s feather

Should it fall short the beast will devour
My soul to oblivion in my final hour
Yet should it measure straight and true
The Pylon opened I’ll be ushered through

And then I shall fall unto my knees
And pray that Osirus hears my pleas
That he acknowledge and clear my tears
And accept my soul for a thousand years

And cleanse said soul of all its scars
And make me one with the canopy of stars
And bless my children and my wife
That they may join me in the afterlife

I really wanted, a refreshing day
Thinking to myself, what was the best way
First some cold water, I splashed on my face
Evidence of sleep, vanished without a trace
I felt my pores shrink, my eyes came awake
Brrr I was so cold, I started to shake

Perhaps a warm shower, was the answer for me
I ran the hot water but needed to pee
Off to the toilet as the water ran hot
Not so refreshing, it burned quite alot
Jumping from the shower, I slipped and hit my head
Things had started out well, but I ended up dead

Before I knew it, I stood at Heaven's gate
Better to show up early than to get there too late
I was handed a mint, it seems I had bad breath
One of the side effects, of succumbing to death
Minty and refreshing, it gave me a glow
As the gates opened I went with the flow

I was quite curious, wondered what I'd see
There the tree of life, right in front of me
I walked towards it, reached up for some fruit
Soft music was playing, I think a Pan Flute
As I began to bite, a voice told me to stop
Being quite startled, I let the fruit drop
Saint Peter asked me, "How did you end up here?"
my knees started knocking, I was overcome with fear
Was I bound for Hell, I truly hoped not
I prefer refreshing and Hell is quite hot

Saint Peter was laughing, there had been a mistake
I wasn't bound for Hell, or a fiery lake
It seems I'd been taken, way before my years
I felt so refresed as I shed thankful tears
My body was gone, I needed one new
He promised me one, with no teeth to chew

So down through the clouds, placed into a womb
So warm and cozy, not cold like a tomb
All of my memories, firmly in tact
Until my birthday, when I felt a smack
All thoughts and memory, vanish without a trace
Refreshing new love, found in my mother's face

Classy Chassis

(Bill's 62 Ford Pickup)

She was very old, but she was quite grand,
she'd climb any hill, plough right thru sand.

She was loud enough to make your ears ring,
yet passing those hot rods made your heart sing.

She rattled like a chain, her beauty was gone,
upholstery was shot, we laid a towel on.

When she came to us, headed for the dump,
with her floor rotted through, rust on her rump;

Mel said "I'm through with her, take her if you want,
but you'll need to 'fix her up' she's begging for paint."

So we traded services, and chose the color blue;
Bill wired Rich's body shop, so we could use it too.

We patched all her holes, bought out the parts store,
gave her a hi-speed rear end, restored her 4-on-the-floor.

Her new body was sleek, cab and bed all one piece,
many people stopped to beg, "Sell her to me, please!"

High-rise manifold and cam, new brake system and clutch,
260 C.I. V-Eight engine, 4-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust.

Hounding those salvage yards took quite a toll,
but at sixty-five R. P. M. , she could really roll.

She took us back and forth, as we built our new abode,
lived up to every task, hauled many a heavy load.

We didn't throw her away when her job for us was done;
we sold her to a farm girl, who's taking her for a wild run.

We reminiscence about her as we rest in our new home,
we often miss the old girl, now that she's truly gone.

We wish someone could take us and do the same good turn,
give us a brand new chassis with energy to burn.

We'd like to join our old Ford, being restored now and again,
to our original beauty, with a souped-up power plan.

The Dog Days of Summer

We let down the top to soak in the sun
Now that the harshness of winter is done

As you let back the seat and put your feet on the dash
Saying, “keep your eyes on the road I don’t want to crash”

I truly must admit that I’m torn completely in two
The coast has its beauty, then again so do you

As the beauty of the Sun is absorbed by your skin
Like a kid at the candy store I simply want to dig in

If life is a candy store sweetheart you are the treat
All the other candy I tasted, never tasted so sweet

The reason I love summer is because of the heat
The skimpier the bikini, the greater the treat

I can’t begin to express how wonderful you are
Saying, “hey take a look at her I’ll steer the car”

At first I truly had no idea what I should say?
Though now it’s, “ok sweetheart, have it your way”

I think that is because you know these words are true
I may take look at her but I shall forever belong to you

Summer is a time that is as bright as the sun
Out goes the cold as it’s replaced by the fun

We have our barbecues and sit under the stars
Let down the tops and go for rides in our cars

Go tend to our gardens in farmer John clothes
Truly amazed at how fast everything grows

Go hang out at the river as well as the lake
Cover ourselves in oil than let our skin bake

Embrace the moments because these words are true
The days last much longer and the sky is so blue

The dog days of summer I reckon that’s so
We bark and howl at folk we don’t even know

If life is banquet then summer is the feast
I think we should gobble it up, to say the least

Written for john's Summer contest.

A Ship Is Safe In The Harbor

A ship is safe in the harbor,
But that's not what ships are built for.

Because in the sum of our human gleams,
We have created the vessel for our dreams.

Its purpose: to retrieve the alien shore,
To scout, seek, achieve and explore.

A ship is meant to fly and fly,
To seize the horizon and capture the sky.

And the few of us with the intrepidity,
To brave the virulent vortex velocity

We are the wealthiest of men ever to dream
And ever to combat a sea or a stream.

And the harbored ships that fritter away,
Slowly begin to rot and decay.
Never has there been a greater waste of a day,
Than that spent harbored,
Than those of us who stay.

Dear King-

# oi KING Mandalay

Influence by the element of air,
You had me at love’s first stare.

Ruled by the element of your water,
Emotions no one can slaughter.

You call upon me like a charmer,
Awaken me out of my outer body armor.

A cobra memorized by your romance,
With a trance of my belly snake dance,

I love your built confidence,
Flirtatiously lost in a hypnotic trance.

Sending a kiss to your sensitive toy,
One day you will be my silly boy.

Your dots fill up my sensual desire,
My passion adds burn to your fire.

I will add water to your thirst.
Motivate me; energize me, until I burst.

While the moon changes your mood,
Your key turns on my womanly jewels of nude.

All my emotions are out of control,
You roll me with the sweet dice of your soul.

A deep erotic ritual to feed the need.
Wanting more arousing the power of my greed.

I will aimlessly satisfy your pleasure of lust,
A loving environment absorbing the devils exotic dust.

Symbolizing our emotions and likes on the same level,
Your Cancer sign comes all twisted like a Tasmania devil.

Influencing the justice with my right hand muffet,
My Libra sign set on two strings like a puppet.

I will shove the love in to everything we speak of,
Secure my bloom with the wings of a dove.

Spoil me with your pride, and charisma of your heart,
Fantasize the beauty of the nature of our art.

Longing your slight touch with a hint of aggressive,
Around you I bury myself in the world of imaginative.

Your sign and element your gift thrives on me.
I exchange the feelings only you see.

Observe me; connect me, until you got my balance,
Have me, love me, and give me all your romance.

All though your ego gets in the way of truth.
My sweet love;-) you are still the one I choose.

The Leader Bunny

All the little bunnies were lined up for a race. Why, you may ask?
Because the dear old Leader Bunny was stepping down with grace.
He had led the others for years without disgrace, in all pursuits.
He was their advisor, friend, and confidant... solver of disputes.
Such a lofty position was dearly sought by all…from all around.
But he could pick only one to wear that lofty, wonderful crown.
So a race was determined to quickly resolve, the question therein.
And a lovely little laurel crown was offered, to the one who did win.

Now many strategies to win emerged from within the race.
The most common was the notion to set the fastest pace…
A few would use tricks that might hurt, in order to slow others down.
A few were mean, for they wanted the power that comes with the crown.
Two were clever and would catapult each other at the very end.
A few just practiced running to gain the added stamina needed to win.
Only one little rabbit found shoes for the poor, for it was a rocky trail.
And when the race began he helped those hurt in the prevail.

Now the dear old leader had never actually worn a laurel crown.
His had been symbolic; his works had brought him his renown.
When the Leader Bunny gave the laurel crown to he who won the race…
Only a few were surprised, when the little helper won the Leader’s grace…
Though some would go on to complain because he had come in last…
It truly takes someone who knows how to serve, to lead and guide the rest.
But my moral to this story is that…. Regardless what some may think…
It takes compassion to correctly lead…and sometimes the last can be the best…

Gulf Stream Beckons

Spending three full days and two nights at sea
Is surely the best vacation for me

Conch chowder dinner the night before
At dawn adieu to the Key West shore

Round-trip journey to Dry Tortugas
Swordfish are known to put up a fuss

It could take four hours just to reel in
Set the reel on drag and watch it spin

Some folks say it’s the thrill of the catch
There’s so much fun in the sparring match

A battle between woman and fish
Three-hundred-pound prey, no better dish

The best reward comes at dinnertime
Succulent fare in sauce made of lime

Some can’t relate and I understand
But fresh-caught fish is better than canned

From the Gulf Stream straight to the table
This adventure requires no fable

Working out with weights ‘fore I embark
Knowing swordfish are no easy mark

Snorkeling too at Tortuga reef
Expectations are beyond belief

My idea of a perfect vacation is slated for May 30 to June 1. Entry for Carol
Brown’s “It’s Time for a Vacation” contest.

Loony Tunes

Wails and yodels heard under the sun

Paper Dreams

I built a paper sail boat to take me out to see;
What lies beyond the setting sun in lands across the sea.

The boats a smaller replica of the big one that I'll make,
to hold all of my fantasies and a dozen chocolate cakes.

I chose my hamster, Freddy, as the captain, but I think...
He's overly excited or had too much to drink..

Either way - he's off, oh, look at Fred, he's having so much fun.
"Good bye my friend, I'll see you when we meet the setting sun".

But, as I wave my last farewell , my smile turns to a frown,
As I watch poor Fred, bailing water, as his mighty ship goes down.

So, heed my tale adventures, please heed what I just wrote,
Don't sail away on paper dreams 'cause paper dreams don't float.

Keep your feet on solid ground and if you you choose to sail,
Remember Fred, I fear he's dead, 'cause he forgot the pail.

A Visit From a Friend

I opened up my cupboard door and then I opened wider,
Dwelling cozily inside, a most humongous spider.

I do not kill a spider, that’s against this gardener’s rule,
But I don’t pick up a spider, I am truly not a fool.

I closed the cupboard saying, “I’ll wait with you to deal
For tomorrow or the next day, depending how I feel.”

I went to work next morning without removing arachnoid.
I don’t know if I forgot or just was trying to avoid.

For in truth I don’t like spiders though she is a gardener’s friend,
But I’ll defend her right to live her span, right to the very end.

All day I mulled my problem, how I’d trap her and release her.
I knew I must be careful, if I was clumsy I’d decease her.

That evening I looked for her, but she wasn’t where she’d been,
And to me an unseen spider is much worse than one that’s seen.

Then my darling son informed he’d been looking for a cookie
And had found the big old spider hiding in its little nookie.

He remembered what I taught him, that a spider is our friend.
He had carried her to the garden, the rest of her life to spend.

----- ………………….. Temptation to fall came knocking thrice strong Remembering how we crossed the lines, so wrong Because you were the fallen side of me, A raven angel of venial sins lurking on damned sea Treading on broken glass intoxicated by glitters Of exciting dangers as call of the wild littered; Our minds seduced by sly games uncontrolled Feeding insatiable urges more than life could behold, Until I collapsed, succumbing to black heat Charred , burned from slits of fevered beat. Then , a glint of light where reborn eyes pranced Are where hopes begged for a winged chance, My spine bent to a shape deeply shaded white As if to say, damn! Put your act together and do it right; While from afar, *Angels descending, bring from above, Chiming blurred *echoes of mercy, whispers of love* And in that moment, the raven part of me led to slaughter Tipping my choices to bathe on cleansed waters © …….. .. . . . .. . Some lives are like a stone quickly skipping over the ponds top, forever tossed.
My life is below the surface trying to reach upward with each breathe lost.
But there is still beauty, deep down here in the great depths below…
For the solitude holds me in its grip as I dwell with what I know.

My occasional trips to the surface leave me vastly wanting more…
Still, my life below the surface doesn’t scare me as it did, once before.
And the breaths will come when given, as my life continues to flow.
True it is dark but beauty lingers, everywhere the currents move below.

At times, the surface reflections seem surreal, as if it’s a place not to go.
Comfort comes more and more to my soul, as the deeper I glide below.
Here I dwell within myself, with words, and thoughts, that carry me along.
Perhaps I have found where I truly belong, as I sing my siren songs.

Far, Far Away

The days draw ever closer with my
imminent need to leave

With promises to keep and goals to

My ultimate desire is to disappear

But mighty are the binds that keep
me here

And so I sat down to write a song

About this place where I could belong

Coz when I look close and beyond

There isn't a thing that tickles my

I wish upon a star thats too far

Hoping for a yearn that makes me

For this I will strive night and day

To find this place, so I pray

PD's Birthday Unicorn

Wake up! It's past ten in the morn!
Didn't you hear me honking my HORN?
Remember? It's October seven!
You forgot? God lord up in heaven!

Yes it's true, my fanciful dame
I'm that steed of mythical fame
Your wishes shall be my command
So may I have the pleasure, Madame?

You didn't know that Unicorns fly?
Oh yeah! We can streak through the sky!
Be prepared for a dazzling flight
'Cause I travel at the speed of light

Got a nice little flat on the moon
(No sweat, I got plenty of room)
We'll fly first to Venus, then Mars
Then I'll take you to visit the stars

Don't rub your eyes, I am real, PD
I exist just because you believe
C'mon! Time's-a-wastin' you know
Are you ready? Hop on! Here we go!...

Twisted Road

Driving down the twisting road
Into the night, the twilight abode
We twist and turn and up we go
Our destination, we cannot know
Just hold it in, we are so close
Adrenaline pumps like an overdose
The headlight glows on white quaking trees
And a slow, chill ripple felt in the breeze
Hold on tight, for this long dark ride
I'll hold you close, and be by your side
Together we will sleep under the moon
The night duration ends, all too soon
Take my heart let the world see
That only for you, my heart will be.

In for a penny, in for a pound
money makes the world go round.

“Baksheesh, pretty lady, Cleopatra eyes?”
foreign intrigue in a bantering guise.

“What do you want, My Queen?”
“Just for you, right here, behind the screen.”

One dollar, five pounds, the world goes round
in for a penny, in for a pound.

“Oh my beauty, please stay, please.
Come, come here, to my shop, stay for tea?”

“No hassle, so honest, nice things abound!”
Money, not love, makes the world go round.

*Baksheesh means a TIP in arabic.

Written to Death

  In God's own ink
with bloody hands,
he writes his life away.
   yet he's free
to have his final say.
        Dark and dank,
his tiny cell
         becomes a living tome,
to tell a tale of villainy,
      of madness
    and of home.

 His maiden fair
     returned his love
with evil and deceit.
She led him here into a trap
his enemy to meet.

    At length
she saved him
     from an end
a death both quick and sure.
She left him in this dungeon dark
forever to endure
the memory
     of her false heart
and one who stole it all.

He tells it all right from the start
      it flows upon the wall,
and when his bright red ink runs dry

This lunar sunset was what he’d most miss -
They always said death was like this :
Slo-mo and black-and-white
Like an old movie trite.
It had happened to him twice before : then
At rush hour on the G15 highway outside Shenzhen (1)
In his new red car when he was twenty;
And again on the pad at Dongfeng launch facility - (2)
An accidental fire in the cabin and abort
When the oxygen supply fell short.

The sun had glared at him all day from the black night
Familiar stars visible, coloured bright.
He ran through his old lectures in his head
The cool ones - yellow orange, red,
The hot ones which stare and emblazon,
As everything slips slowly down to the western horizon.
No loss of heat from sun, but shadows lengthening now,
Black, black, lengthening inky shadow.

His pen wrote fast across his paper notepad deformed
But the inky marks now in Pudonghua formed (3)
As his English slipped away.
He’d been here so long . . . . a month? A day?
Day is 15 earth days, night is 15 nights
And sunset lasts a whole earth day bright

Moon was full, his earth was darkened, like night.
A blue watery ball with edges of light:
While the earth eclipsed the sun
A red halo around his spinning home was spun.
Sun’s entry on earth’s western limb made slow
Red flares - crowns - as the solar disk slid low,
And earth’s red light bathed itself on white rocks beside,
He felt a last touch of home inside.

So unlike his own sunsets of the past
In his home in Guangzhou, seen last (4)
Over the Pearl River delta with bent light (5)
At the heavy monsoon rains’ height.
This taikonaut’s last sunset . . . . . his radio dead, (6)
His pen drops, and he slowly nods his head,
As sun’s warm arms envelope his earth fond,
And he slips his surly bonds. (7)
(1) A well-known dangerous highway in southern China
(2) Chinese equivalent to Kennedy Space Centre
(3) Pudonghua (=Chinese) is the language spoken in southern China
(4) Major mega-city in southern China, near Hong Kong
(5) Pearl River is the river on which Guangzhou stands
(6) Astronaut = cosmonaut = taikonaut
(7) This line is closely modeled on a line in “HIGH FLIGHT” by John Magee

THE MUSHERS RIDE OUT Dogsledding in Alaska part 1

                   THE MUSHERS RIDE OUT

Air colder than the heart of death
              Surrounds the champion teams
And crystals dance twixt every breath
              To paint this Arctic dream
Critics who think these dogs coerced
              To run in mighty races
Need only bask upon the sight
              Of eager canine faces
Commands are sharp , mistakes are few
The lead dog thinks for all
And like a whisper wrapped in wind
              He hears the mushers call
No whips or sticks strike dogs who lead
              It’s months and years together
The musher and his dog who leads
              Are minds that think together
As mushers wait and dogs stand tall
             All eager to be gone
The darkness lurks beyond the lights
And in a shot they’re gone
             Well-wishers line the barren streets
             Where winds are arctic whips
While satellites will flash the sight
             From warmth the newsmen quip—
Fools of Tourists dressed all wrong
will scoff at cold life dangers
             These careless tourists wander off
             At risk to rescue rangers

Winter Fun

Outside so cold
Let Winters story unfold

The lake now ice
A fire out back, so nice

As the blizzard sets in
A snowball fight will separate the boys from the men

A snowman emerges from hard work
A little boy knocks it over, what a jerk

A snow day for school
All the kids think it's cool

Shovel the snow from the porch
The intense cold can scorch

Go back inside
From the cold, run and hide

Tag Christie Moses

Why; Hello Colin good morning mate
Son, there is no accent in hands of fate

Throw out the tea and chug the beer
Then I bet you find a keg in ere

Everything is a riddle once it is spoke
The tag is from you to me and then some other folk

But who should I choose, I’m here to say
So many beautiful feathers float by my way

Once while I was taking a path from here to there
When I noticed beauty beyond compare

She made me smile and she made me think
Looking at her was like taking a drink

She made me feel good and forget all the rest
I reckon that is a true poets test

The only thing I really did know
What a wonderful beautiful soul

My only complaint of her poetry was the last line
For I was hoping to have just a little more time

Talk of someone who needs no adorning
She plays a huge role in the global warming

For she has a beauty that could melt Glacier Ice
I guess everything wants to see beauty so beautifully nice

So who is the beautiful Angel that I’m speaking of?
Tag Christie Moses your it my love

Colin if I failed I apologize my head feels like it is in a vice
this morning but I wanted to respond. I will keep this poem
and then on a better day I will write a reply to you also. I
feel better guys & gals 0r guy gals & gal guys - One just
never knows anymore. At any rate God Bless you all, mj

Took a break from years of research
And worked in a small town building a new church.
Local priest there resembled me, so they said.
Old ladies in the post office would stop dead
And tell me about their addict-son in court.
Folks out of hospital would thank me for my support.
So I went to the old church one day to see this guy:
Once seen, I could understand the reason why:
Holy Mackerel, he had same hair, eyes, height -
Everything, including my coat and jeans too tight.
First thing he said (after “My son” ) was
How tired he was of people asking him the cause
Of their leaky roof or how to extend a room.
I said anybody can help fix buildings; but only some
Can help fix souls. How strange that we two
Were both busy building up the church anew.

Guess What Phyllis, I Tagged You

After reading your comment to Sharon so true
I decided oh yes, I must tag Phyllis to

”Tag game” is about people sharing their heart
It would sure be special if you shared your part

It seems sometimes we just run out of time
Remember when a phone call cost a dime

So did a bottle of soda as a matter of fact
Remember the machines when they slid on a track

Well hopefully not because these words are true
Remembering those things means you’ve seen life to

So many changes between those times and now
Now days they have lasers that operate the plow

With me it all changed way faster than most
Years in day is the story of a convict ghost

But that is the past and praise God I am free
Exercising my right to tag Phyllis you see

Every game should have a Mentor Raul is his name
He was tagging us all without knowing of the game

I’m tagging Phyllis and giving honor to Raul
For without a doubt he is a model for us all

You know a while back the "Tag" game was a part
of our site. This was a very special part of our site
and Raul with his unselfishness writing Poem's to
members on our site reminded me of this and to be
honest I tried hard to ignore the impulse. So in Honor
of "Our Mentor" lets bring that special part of our Soup
Back, spend our time writing of love instead of some knack.

Put on the red coat, put on the mask
Flash dancers wait just to finish the task
To raise up the curtain on all of these acts
I don't know for certain, I don't have the facts
But somebody told me that you were the one
to brighten the moonlight and turn up the sun
to call in the ocean when twilight enfolds
the seashore at sunset when someone beholds
that miracle moment when all thinking ceases
When lovers and losers are equal in pieces
of puzzles in Sanskrit cascading free
If you give me your hand you can take all of me
I haven't a coin nor a deed real or written
I know you aren't sure and you haven't been smitten
but yesterday morning I saw something new
I think it was me and I know it was you
Riding a rainbow, boy what a blast
Do you think there's a chance for a love that could last?

Kitty Kitty Kat Kourage

This Kitty Kitty Kat is back.
As a matter of fact.

Yes, I was discouraged.
I let them get the best of me, pushing me off the edge.

After getting bitter attacks
Then I realize I have something they lack.

Its been 2 days sense, I left drop the soup.
Then I realize these poets are a fun group

My daughter Royal has been having fun without me.
That we can all see.

I got a couple of things to say real clearly.
I miss all you guys so dearly.

I have returned with a good attitude change.
Who cares if things in here have gotten strange.

Can you tell me any good poetry news.
Comment me a nice Haiku, without any clues.

Tell me something anybody, I don't want to feel left out.
Being in my space all day, made me want to shout.

I miss all of you my friends, without a doubt.
Without any poetry, my family will see me pout.

From now on I will be happy dandy, Meow Meow.
Until someone else makes me have a cow!.
               Love SKAT & (Irma)

This is a small part of story that I am working on to be published in my book of 12 stories.

She resumed in trekking; still searching for a way out
When something caught her eye which appeared to be a route.

Confidence grabbed the reigns in her chest, filling it with air;
Her breathing and her heartbeat tripled for she was almost there.

But as the path ended so did her mirage of nirvana.
It led her to a basin filled with red-bellied piranha,

Caiman alligators, and electric eels
Imagination was the one in her head turning the wheels

Sending pulses down her spine which reeked of fear
Forcing confidence to be evicted through each crying tear.

But her cries for help could not be heard
For the jungle’s trees kidnapped every word

The sun squinted his eyes through the trees in the west
“A bridge!” she gasped. She began to feel blessed

Sarah had to move quick; a race against the clock.
Night plus blood equals animals on the stalk

Please rate =))

My favorite Spaceship was the Jupiter 2
With the Robinson family and the Robot too
And who could forget maniacally evil Dr. Smith
His fear of the aliens brought on interesting twist

Weekly another planet adventure, once it was the moon
Traveling past every star in a silver saucer that zoomed
And when the Robot said, "Danger Will Robinson!"
Dr. Smith always pulled out his cool looking stun gun

But somehow in a frantic he'd drop it to the ground
Or worse, hand it over to the alien, the Dr. was a clown
John and Don always seemed to be fixing or fighting
When I was a kid this show was by far the most exciting!

A different life and different face

Different wants and different needs
Different values and different creeds

Different Pomp and Circumstance
Different songs and different dance

Different likes and different hate
Different foods on different plate

A different boat on a different sea
A different you and a different me

Go Dog Go A Dr Suess Parody

The dog was driving fast when the light turned green
and drove as if the red was a light between.
He was in a terrible hurry for a party in a tree.
It was just about ten minutes on his clock that he could see.
He pulled up to a maple that had branches speading wide
and hanging from the first one was a poodle he had spied.
He asked him many questions to find others who were friends
and thanked him for his help as they spoke to greater ends.
He went up in the tree on an old rope ladder
and almost fell back down to a poor weak bladder.
When high attop the tree he could see quite far.
All his friends were partying hardy just above his car.
He was offered several drinks all with straws bright pink
and sipped them very slowly as the music made him think.
He talked with many friends as he shared a joke
and walked around on branches careful not to fall and croak.
As he watched the sun fall down and it got quite late
He remembered his long drive and his homeward fate.
So he said his many thank you's and goodbyes quite late
and headed for his car putting down his plate.
It wasn't very long till he reached his home
while remembering the day as his longest roam.
As he set his tiny clock to get up the next day
he knew it wouldn't be as the one today.

A Pony From Mars

It came from the sky, a gray silver stallion.
I looked up high, and I also had seen a dragon.

With so many things in this universe.
I'm on 24/7 alert with a camera in my purse.

Who would have known I'd be the first to spot a PEGASUS.
The town folks wave hi every time I walk my hippopotamus.

I enjoy showing everyone pictures of a flying horse.
I don't understand why they call a DOCTOR every time I call the TASK FORCE.

I think they are jealous over all the things I've seen.
Ever since I sighted a LEPRECHAUN when I turned fourteen.

No one ever believed me when I saw an army of dragonflies.
They had a name for me "the who See's too much in the skies!"

I don't know why they can't see what I see.
For all I know they don't even believe me.

If you don't believe me then explain how I got this magic MEDALLION.
It was a gift from the silver stallion.

I also have many pictures of a UNICORN.
Who gave me a piece of its magic horn.

We sat together while UNI" drank from the lake.
We enjoyed talking, --talking about how U.F.O.'s are fake.

Why can't they see? I fell off a boat and got rescued by a MERMAID!
Who would have known a mermaid swim around with first-aid.

I also remember the day I followed a LEPRECHAUNS.
We were playing under the rainbow having fun.

When I told my doctor about all the things I've seen.
He locked me in a DUNGEON, thinking I was an ALIEN QUEEN.

I begged and I told him I don't believe in any type of alien.
Too bad the master of this dungeon came from another region.

In a way he looks like that one SILVER STALLION from Mars.
The first sighting I'd seen the day I fell from the monkey bars.

I have this picture of this horse of course.
JUST help me out of this white-jacket!!! ;-)
If you want to see the coolest picture of a flying horse.

The Over-Glorified Airplane Ride

“In the pocket of the seat in front of you, you’ll find:”
A cushion, stuffed with cotton balls; eight or nine,
One Crimson- tinted, two-by-four fleece cut out,
And a magazine full of things no one cares about

“For your comfort today, we provide:”
A seat, which six inches backwards, reclines,
A nine inch pixelated Toshitty TV,
And headphones that fit no ears, for only $3.50

“Thank you for choosing American Airlines,”
Enjoy your seat next to the odorous woman who rants the whole time
And you’ll see we break every stereotype.
Our attendants are fat and *****y, not skinny and nice.

“We hope you find your flight pleasant”
Sitting next to the odorous woman, who loves to rant,
Or the man who can’t fit in his 17” airplane seat,
Pouring onto the lap of the woman, whose infant screams, unwilling to share her teet.

The Library Man

How often do you visit the Library? And what do you see?
I see oceans and seas of books plus a homeless man doing zzz’s..
He’d apparently been reading before, he fell deep asleep.
He can stay there, they say, as long as he doesn’t lie down to sleep.
Sitting up is OK and of course, as long as he doesn’t create a scene.

He’s kind and gracious and a little strange but can debate any role
When he walked over, we had a talk about the devil verses mind control.
Without asking, what he really wanted was someone to buy him lunch.
There’s a McDonalds two doors down from where we were bunched.
I don’t know what I expected when he woke up and looked around.

But when I asked if he was homeless he wasn’t fazed at all.
Yes, I have been for a while, he said, but my boat will soon come in.
And I realized the library is a warm, safe place to relax and to be.
And the librarians seem content to just let him be.
In the end, I was sorry I couldn’t buy him that lunch.

But recently, my abilities to do so had become a little stretched.
I used to buy the books I read… now the library is more my taste.
I just hope if it comes to that… he’ll graciously share this place.
The library even has computers from where you could write.
And the people there are varied and really rather kind.

I’m on the edge but whole family’s once prosperous are already there.
Cheap hotel rooms in even cheaper hotels, once skirted are full.
The jobs don’t pay for anything more. They are: Bitter, Disgruntled, Lost.
Needed are better and more jobs to re-establish the American Dream.
To give them some hope so they can go back there again…
And don’t just act toward them… like they’re your library man…
Give them back their American Dream as best you can.

My Ode to the Netherlands

Oh lovely Netherlands, you are now my second home.
You leave me thrilled and enchanted where ever I roam.

I smiled when floating down streets made from the sea,
Touring on charming glass covered canal boats with glee.

There’s beauty in the coolness of a windswept day,
As I rode the wind on my bicycle and joyously flew away.

Then I set out to visit famous paintings I was shown.
Each lovely museum has a quaint charm all its own.

One famous museum displayed art of Vincent van Gogh.
It has a cool theatre inside, most tourists don’t know.

I just had to visit Den Haag’s St. Mauritius to view
Vermeer’s “Girl with a pearl earring” and other art too.

I toured through Madame Tussaud’s Wax museum happily.
Johnny Depp and George Clooney were there waiting for me!

Oh lovely gardens of Keukenhof, my time’s worth BEST spent.
I’ll never forget your bright tulip hues with their heavenly scent.

Hartelijk bedankt oh lovely Netherlands, land of the free.
Alstublieft, alstublieft I beseech you, don’t forget me.

*Hartelijk bedankt - heartfelt thanks

Child once more

Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up one morning
To find you were still a child
So much energy jumping up and down upon your bed
So many wonders and thoughts swirling through your bed
No responsibilities
Just fun and play with your dolls or swinging in the trees
Getting a dose of the measles having a poorly on your knee
looking at a catalogue at all the toys
Building a den and playing cowboys and Indians
With the other girls and boys
Dressing up in mummies clothes
catching frogs and picking your nose
Rolling down grassy hills and knowls
Going for summer walks with a bottle of lemonade
Pretending you are a solider standing on parade
Watching cartoons all day on TV
Having a pet to love and feed
Giving your teddy bear a hug
Collecting crawly things like slugs and bugs
Having a big bag of sweets giving a high five to every child that you meet
Having an imaginary friend called Fred
Bed time stories in your Jim Jams in bed
Pretending to be a pirate out at sea
Seeing strange faces in every tree
Licking the cake bowl after mummy makes a cake
Riding on your bicycle or on your roller skates
Reading books under the covers with a torch at night
Playing football flying a kite
Dreaming of becoming an astronaut a fireman and scientist too
having a great day out at the zoo
Playing children's games calling out rude names
Playing in the wood getting up to no good
Getting head Lice in your hair
Sitting in a high chair
Dancing like a loony at a party
Hating girls yuk! with their ribbons and their curls
Doctor Who Winnie the poo Sponge Bob
Larry the Lamb and Batman
and now I'm Superman!

Everyone saying 'awe aren't you sweet'
Coco pops egg and toast soldiers to eat
Balloons floating high into the sky
your older sister hitting you and making you cry
Sitting on your potty

Nine Virtues

Sailing in their long ships with a dragon head on the bow
Vikings were a hardy people from a land of ice and snow

Known for their adventures far wide and across many seas
Bringing culture and beliefs, sailing from 950-1050 A.D.

Traders who settled, leaving their Danish homeland
Looking for a heaven found by the name of Vineland

In their Gods was a strong belief, by Odin they were lead
Blazing by the virtues of nine in their stead

TRUTH was a belief held in high regard, from deep within
In the sense of honesty- essential for kith and kin

Ruled by HONOR- morality more than reputation
Without regret these Vikings lived, no hesitation

Following in the ways of Frey, FIDELITY to the Gods
To their family and clan, they lived without facade

DISCIPLINE is the action to all beliefs they held fast
Personal will - their conquests to lands unsurpassed

The civilization practiced HOSPITALITY to unselfish ends
Never knew when on a cold night, one might need friends

INDUSTRIOUSNESS made the Vikings active with vitality
Living each day to it's fullest, abundant morality

The clan could not survive without SELF RELIANCE
To do for one, is to do for all- tribe alliance

COURAGE and bravery to face life's struggles and PERSEVERE
Foraging upon strange lands and taming the new frontier.

Won 3rd place in the "Broad Horizons" contest by Deborah Guzzi
The Nine Noble Virtues of the Vikings.

Across All Winds

Beneath tapestries of sky and clouds of ivory
In a waltz we dance on bridges and on alleys

Across mosques' minarets, we hear the prayers
Then descend to hear the mirth of avid card players

Upon extending roads, we both speed along
Shining with the city lights, singing its songs

With the freedom of vagabonds, with dusk and day
On the vast waterfront, we accelerate, we sway

Whether it was inner solace, or a touch of rage
On your seat I always, share and assuage

We face fierce gusts, we feel the distant sky
Across all winds, my bike and I...

I watch my shadows as I walk this earthly path.
Ever changing as the moon follows the sun.

And though I travel far and wide.
I see hands extended in friendship.

My shadow falls on whispers passing by.
As I walk this Kaleidoscope of highways.

I see you shed a tear, and I wipe it clear.
So the sun can shine for you again.

I see that my world remains beautiful to me.
Even when there are dark clouds around me.

No, I shall not sink to the lowest form.
Moonlight carries me forever forward.

Even with my shadow, part light, part dark.
I'm but a shadow within this earthly realm.

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

The lake memory

Blue skies
Giant swarming horse flies

Swatting hands and fishing poles on deck
We hit the lake wide open, the whole time craning our necks

The sun heats our backs as the motor sputters and spits
We stop and cast waiting on the fish to hit

A few longs hours in I loose determination and start to slouch
I watch the line on the ripples and take a piece of bait from my waist pouch

I bait my hook with a glittery jig and throw out once again
I'll be damned if he didn't latch on, "Look I see his fin!"

My pole bends over as I keep tension on the line
I hear my reel screech and whine

He thrashes with fury and swims down deep
I see him jump. Oh this one I will surely keep!

I haul his 24 1/2 inch body onto our boat
He's a nice bass. I admire him and take my camera from my coat.

What a great day spent on the lake.

Going To War

The phrase, "going to war", has always had ominous and forbidding qualities that can
reverberate to the very core of the soul. Experiencing such an ordeal has its own legacy. It
differs from person to person in varying degrees and the anticipation is usually far more
negative than the actual arrival into the area of conflict. Though each war has its own
realities with which to deal, it is not the war addressed by, "Going to War". The poem reveals
the war within when the psyche literally battles with the 'unknown' in its struggle to accept
the actuality of an event feared and imagined.

The eastern sky grew dark with night, The west held light of day. A lonesome plane in westward flight Was taking us away. When orders came for Viet Nam And all the names were read, They may as well have dropped a bomb, Or shot us there instead. Some few had been to fight before But most of us had not; Had never dealt with death or war, Or fears of being shot. Our words came scarce and laughter naught, Concern was quick to grow. The doubts and fears we all had brought Seemed primed and set to blow. A wave of silence dashed our youth Against the rocks of war, And in its wake, the naked truth; We're little boys no more. The time had come to set aside The games of yesterday, To give our step a longer stride, To learn another way. Now doubt looms dark and ominous, A vulture from the blue, That preys upon what peace remains, From all the things we knew. We pray to soothe our fears and dread, For rest to ease our mind, For guidance through the war ahead, And mourn the 'world', behind; And that one day we'll understand Why people have to die... Still, time grows near when we would land, The miles were flying by. The windows fog with quickened breath In our descent to land. We all are sure a brush with death Is very close at hand. We watch Siagon come into view And wait to feel a blast; Then hold our breath, as if on cue, When wheels touch down, at last. The war, for us, has just begun; Our fates seem so unsure, But we are warriors, every one, Resolved we will endure. ©1971 by Jim Fish

Christmas Sleigh Ride

The sleigh bells jingle merrily across the horses backs,
The snowflakes fall around us, filling the horses tracks;

The silver silence broken by boisterous Christmas songs,
Midnight chimes on the clock over head but we’re still going strong;

The whiskey warms our insides as we pass the bottle around,
Aside from the caroling voices, the night doesn’t make a sound;

We’re snuggled under blankets, breath fogging in the air;
Riding along with family and friends, living without a care!

Early Bird's New Motto

Since I was a baby, I had always heard
That the one who gets the worm is the early bird.

Finally the time had come to test my wings, and so
I went out before I even heard the rooster crow.

I was very sneaky; with my siblings still asleep,
Quietly I flew away, making not a peep.

Under trees and bushes, hopping all around,
I searched hard, yet there wasn’t one worm to be found!

I felt pretty stupid when my siblings turned up late.
Up before the dawn, and I didn’t even rate!

Suddenly the sky got dark; rain came pouring down.
Worms appeared as if they now were sprouting from the ground.

Worms aplenty; worms to last my family for the week.
Busily I pecked at them with my little beak.

Now my motto is “To catch some worms, wait for the rain.”
My siblings too agree, for early rising is a pain!

Jordanian Itinerancy

Across lands of streets, stone and desert
A breeze in a waltz for trees to avert,

I flow with the freedom of a river in a bay
Across mountains and winds with passion I sway

From the historical Petra, upon the purity of its sands
To the salty waters of the Dead Sea, prosperity in hands

At height upon its mountains, O’ Allah I pray
Embellished with the sunset of Wadi Rum, nature sleeps to allay

I mosey upon its Rabyeh streets, accompanied by its tender gust
I inhale the freshness of its varying cuisine, filled with utter lust

Gazing at its marvel in a background of family mirth
Across my Grand Ma’s balcony, Jordan fills the earth

I Just found out

I just found out that aliens have landed
They touched down in the desert now they're stranded

Our military is headed to the scene
I just hope these aliens aren't very mean

We have surrounded their spaceship
We await their emergence , as cameras click

Suddenly a door opens and an alien comes out
Cameras flash and people begin to shout

Then utter silence as we wait for the alien to speak
We hope they speak english, and not a language that's greek (to us)

The situation is tense, and it could become unstable
Then the alien said "Do any of you Earthlings have a jumper cable"

Gold Fish and The Frog

There was a Goldfish who thought he was a shark.
He kept biting the lily pad of a Monk Frog.
Behave said the frog, for you are no shark.
I can if I want, said the goldfish, if you are a Monk.

The goldfish kept attacking the lily pad with ardor and spunk.
He wouldn’t be gainsaid on being a shark.
As the Frog studied relentlessly to become what was wont.
Neither one believing the other… could become what he did want.

Now along came a snake to eat the monk frog on his ark.
But to him… this lily pad was sacred, and he didn’t want to disembark.
So the goldfish attached a leaf to stand straight up on his back…
And as he bit the snake’s tail the frog hollered SHARK!
Pandemonium ensued as the frightened snake did run off…
Thinking it’s better to be safe, than as some one else’s dinner doffed.
So some how, together they both became what they did want.
Living happily ever after, as friends in that great lily pond.

The moral my friend is you can be whatever you want.
Still, don’t stop as the path becomes hard, that you sought…
For if a gold fish can become a shark… and a Frog a Monk…
Then with work and friends made… you can become whatever you want.

Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places

< this poem is not about what is written, but what is not written
like the smile upon her face that looks nil and somewhat smitten

and lochs of hair hanging instead of with bows and lace
tell me my angelic angel have you fallen from God's good grace

has your garments of thread gone out of time
has your dance with the butterflies gotten out of rhyme

have you been cast from your lovers heart
or are you just looking to start over with brand new start

has clouds silver lining rained upon your dreams
has leafs dance gone frozen in crystal streams

time stands still amidst wondering thoughts
time stands still when lovers cant be sought

bona fide boaster

He always loved the roller coaster, the Triple Loop
Rode it seventy times and never puked

Hands in the air going down hills
He never tired of upside down thrills

He was a vet of the roller coaster
Not a newbie, or rookie, but a bona fide boaster

So proud he was, so sure of the ride
That he paid no attention to the signs on the side -

The ones that tell you to never stand up -
Well he did, and paid the price soon enough

He was decapitated within a second or two
His head flew like a ball, into the blue!

Screams of fun turned to screams of terror
As everyone realized the rider’s grave error

Blood spattered shirts, hair, and faces
Came in with his body, slumped in its place

The M.E. called it, “accidental suicide” -
Citing it as the ride of his life

And unfortunately, the ride of his death
But at least he died happy, shouting “Wheeee”, with his last breath

The Pleasure Has Been All Mine

< I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it's my gift to you
Now use it wisely and write about some captioned caught views

thus that of an snow-capped mountain with an eagle that soars
or white sandy beaches where ribbed tides rolls back to it's shores

maybe stars and moon dance reflecting off stilled bay's port
in ones head you must determine choice of words to now sort

from beautiful to just pleasure does not hit it's mark
beneath recant memory that caused the ignited spark

observer of denial you can not destroy ones voice
within pens stroke there comes a poet with another choice

seize the day and come bow to the chosen word of the day
dont let an overpowering object just get away

Writer's Block

You know what I hate about writer’s block,
How my creativity is hidden behind a lock;

Time ticks away as I stare at my screen,
My heart beating faster from the strain of caffeine;

The cursor flashing lulls me to doze,
Til a fly lands smack on the tip of my nose;

I swing at the fly and glance at the clock,
How did 10 AM turn into 5 O’clock;

I stand and I stretch and then walk away,
And say goodbye to another wasted day;

Maybe tomorrow will inspire my brain,
Or I could be slowly going insane…

Rotini Rigaletto

The sea holds the sauce of life,
 the squiggly-wiggleys of delight.

The shells on shore inspire insight
cooks in kitchens steam on summer nights.

Filling pasta pots with rotini,
pan searing bits of pink squids teeni.

Drizzling pink vodka sauce between the swirls
juggling meatballs for little girls!

So, mimic the sea on my saucy plate
“Pass the rotini! I’ve not ate!”

“See how it looks like a Hasid’s curls?”
Just the macaroni for a Jewish girl!

No More Nudity

I’m well aware it’s not discreet
to walk barefoot upon the street.

In summer too hot, in winter cold
and more than that, I’m much too old.

But it was not so long ago
that I was just a child you know

And living in the country-side
where comfort only was my guide.

With the school’s end and no more classes
I knew the velvet of spring grasses

as I ran through the morning dews,
quite unencumbered by my shoes.

Blood poison was our only fear.
My mother warned me every year,

“Be careful where you’re running dear.”
as she bandaged me and wiped a tear.

We’d never heard of E.coli
nor that from Mersa we might die.

Unaware of dangers everywhere
we ran barefoot, without a care.

I’m sorry for the modern child
who cannot know the feel of wild

abandon in the long hot summer.
She must wear shoes and that’s a bummer.

A Dark Fantasy

I’m on a planet with a golden kiss
It shimmers with glory, such bliss!

As I zoom in, it turns into a dark land
Peep in, I’m afraid, I cannot stand!

In darkness, I see a bright glowing tower
Inside, a plethora of so called ‘man’ power

Zoom in; I see ‘beast’ kind disguised as ‘man’ kind
Alas! Not a single kind beast could I find

I hear roars of uncivilized beings
And moans of so-called weaklings

I see a trail of emotional turmoil
Those 7 deadly sins wrapped in a dazzling foil

Gifted to humanity, his power, his grey matter
It separates humans from animals and allows us to shatter

The once created planet with a golden kiss
Will it ever show the signs of holy bliss?

bucket list of wants

Tons more I wish to do, Much more I want to do, Before I am laid on the pyre facing the sky deep blue, Much more I wish to do………. I want to scale scary heights, I want to bungee jump without any fright. I want to travel rough terrains on bikes, I want to make it through forests and go on long hikes. I want to wander singing songs, I want to sing about how I mended my wrongs. I want to be creative again , I want to write about my joys thrills and pain. I want to pour my heart and passion in my works, I want to write verses & haikus without reactions knee jerks. I want to take many a calculated risks, I want to learn from the entire process without shortcuts or fancy tricks. I want to contribute for a good cause, I want to give without siphoning material or emotional dross. I want to untangle messed up issues, I want to wipe off tears with empathy laced tissues. I want to work on taboo subjects, I want to solve regression of y on x. I want to listen to my music loud, I want to pen my work in a place far from the madding crowd. I want to sow seeds and many a plant, I want to bask in sun rays that into my room slant. I want to drench in the rains, I want to make paper boats and sail them in the drains. I want to pick up from the ground and smell fresh wet earth, And then joyously have my speech filled with mirth. I want to boldly write about myself only for me, I want the world to know me & my mind as they will always see. I want to meet often the persons, who mean a lot to me, I want to be able to emote my passions and feelings of love and glee. I want to be happy about just any small thing, And all this I want to do before the last breath to my nostrils I bring. Facing the blue skies on my funeral pyre, I want to be on the best craft my soul can hire…. All this I want to do very soon, Before sets into me dreaded gloom. But the life I live is taking its toll, I am yet to get out of this oblivious hole. Time is just right to set aside, And take a ride Fulfill my wants and dreams that I nurtured in me to grow, And I had put away sheathed in a cocoon of time many years ago. Now I don’t want a moment long, And I will do what I want and sing my own song, And do what in me I let grow, Many, many years ago.

Goodnight Moon

< Goodnight moon
Only God knows if I'll see you soon

As I stand under this canopy of stars
It looks as if you're riddled with scars

                                      From your illuminating harvest glows
To those frosted faces from a winters toll

You even play your peek a boo
With clouds that shuffle by you

Don't you know I love you so
So please stay and don't you let go

                                               You're my guiding light
My shining armor through-out the night

The crickets are even playing our love song
So let's dance all night long

For I know the sun will be rising soon
And we'll start hearing yodel calls from a loons tune

                                             Well goodnight moon
You've slipped away all to soon

                                                    It's been fun

Life is an Aventurous Squirrel Run

I have my Hubby’s steadfast belief in me.
He loves how my poems are light and airy.
He’ll give me an idea once in a while…
Then he escapes to come back, later to read my new child.

He calls these run-throughs a squirrel run.
For they can take off in directions, yes, any one.
Crazy thoughts become crazier still…
And story time leads to god knows, where they will.

My thinking is kind of like chasing around a tree.
You never know where the end will be.
But somewhere I eventually become truly still.
And that is where my Hubby adds into the trill.

Then the squirrel run begins again…
Light and fluffy and full to the brim.
Each day a new adventure... waits around the bend.
Live it. Love it. Write it... You'll be happier in the end.

Winter couplet

Winter couplet Winter time in sixty four I went way south, an Wagga saw, Yes it was bloody cold, and I was surely young and poor, While there in the army camp, the coldest showers ever had, Hot water wasn’t there about , recruit Johnson label, sad, I swore I’d never go back south, fingers numb six weeks way south, And I never have returned to the cold, true to my word of mouth, Queensland doesn’t see the sleet, or have the snow around your feet, Just heat and nothing more than heat, here we have the bloody heat, Springs almost gone, and sweat it flows, under a sheet sleep naked though, Too hot for loving treats, but sweating lovers do I know, seen tween toe n toe, So take your cold an hold it close, does not suit me till I’m comatose, When they slip me in the icy draw, with strangers I suppose. My 67 Ford

Though I was young and less than legal age,
I had a friend who co-signed forms… rampage!
At twenty-one, to me she seemed mature.
A confidence of trust that is for sure!
Oh how I loved that year; I was nineteen.
Yes, it was then I took out my first lien.
What fun to have a car to call my own.
All I had to do was pay off the loan.
With, pride…I loved my 67 Ford.
That Galaxy 500, I adored.
I could hardly believe it was so new.
A one owner one-year-old car; yahoo!
I was a tiny gal in a big car.
It was just the ticket for going far.
I could drive to work or go out with friends.
I loved taking trips on those long weekends.
In that car, I felt gladness and had clout.
Sometimes there were problems, without a doubt.
One afternoon, with the engine ablaze,
I screamed for help; my heart sunk in malaise.
I was picking up a friend from her work.
All that excitement was just a life perk!
Some nearby man came running to my aid.
He extinguished the fire while I prayed.
The dealer fixed the car without a charge.
I was back on the road, a kid at large!
We had a problem with a gunshot wound.
Believe you me, by my friends I was lampooned.
A 30.06 was on the back seat.
When it went off you could hear my heartbeat.
My sweater on the trigger; it was cold.
It carried that wound until it was old.
I traded it in; I was twenty-five.
But the Ford still lives in life's fun archive!

The Boy Pilot-

Reporters waiting at the blocked off air- strip,
to get photos of the boy wonder at the end of his trip.
Around the world in his hot air balloon,
from Anchorage to Cameroon.
Picking up treasures from every land,
grizzly bear claws, and feathered bands.
The air ship lands while the crowd cheers,
The door opens , and the boy pilot nears.
“Will you make a statement?”, they want to know,
“What have you seen , and where did you go?”
I travelled wherever the wind blew me to,
met people , went places, that I never knew.
So, I have many tales to tell ,
of the wonders I have seen,
many stories to be written,
And I am but fifteen.

Valentine Romance

Valentines day is always something special to me, I explained.
So I planned a romantic evening and got ready for my campaign.
The children were at a sleepover with their favorite friends they adore.
So I met my hubby as he came in, accidentally tripping and making him hit the door.
Thank God his head is hard as he hit that, the nearby TV, but very little more.
I made Cherries Jubilee as a snack while he sat there with an ice pack to his head.
But before I knew it, I’d knocked it over and almost burned down the house instead.
When he finally put the fire extinguisher away…
I got up and got some of the kids’ apple tarts I had made.
He bit in deep and burned his mouth, declaring he wasn’t hungry and the pain would fade.
Next he decided to go upstairs, but I had put rose petals down everywhere in spades.
And yes you probably guessed it… he slipped and ended up needing a little aide.
At this he decided to take an aspirin and lay down upon the couch. OH HHWell…
But I knew the rest needed to happen above, to totally create this romantic spell…
I had to get him to the candles and bubble bath, where my romantic dreams still dwelled.
So I got out some scarves and danced toward him, tying up his hands before he fell.
He never knew what hit him as he was lassoed and gently bounced up the stairs.
I guess I wouldn’t have had to tie his feet… a few words would have done as well.
But you know me when I get going, my mind tends to lose a few brain cells…
He was flustered, exhausted and bruised when he got there, but he’s made of the right stuff.
Though as I took off the scarves, he flopped on the bed pulling the covers over his head kind of rough.
He said he loved me, but living with me could be kind of tough.
He said it was better to leave it to him, for the romantic endeavors and such.
He said he had reservations and play tickets in his shirt pocket for later on that night.
But what he needed now was some aspirin and a few moments of quiet respite.
So with a sigh he started snoring, and my romantic dreams were momentarily crushed.
I dearly love the man you know. But, do you think maybe I tried too much?

Sleepless Night

Sleepless nights and haunted dreams, Nothing is ever as it seems; Dead of night, I’m wide awake, Listening to each breath I take; A cricket chirps just outside, As I lay in bed, eyes open wide; A lonely coyote cries in the dark, A dog answers back a mournful bark; And here I lay, fighting for sleep, Hell I even tried the counting of sheep; And as the darkness presses all around, The night time stills, there’s not a sound; I bolt upright as I struggle for air, And something moves in the black, over there; My heart is pounding out of my chest, As I strain to see my unwelcome guest; And from out of no where, I jerk awake, Flip on the light, it was all a mistake; The terror I felt was just a nightmare; I look all around and no one is there; So I lay back down and turn off the light, And try to sleep for the rest of the night.

Fur Ball

< my little girl came to me and asked for a pet
to me my heart just hasn't been quite set

but who could resist those baby brown eyes
and all those little wimpers and desirable sighs

so off we went in our broken down wagon
where the rear end you could tell was sagging

to petland is where we went
                 pocketbook really took a dent

odie and garfield was their chosen names
two bunny hampsters very different but the same

oh my little girl was not yet done
said mama we need hampster ball so they can have alot of fun

and don't forget their bedding liners
so their living will be much finer

but first you must buy them their cage
oh my little girl is quite smart for her age

she knows they like fruit and snacks
so she doubled order with ten sacks

ring ring ring ding ding ding
did it's cash register ever so did sing

                   eighty five fifty
                   well ain't that nifty

                   handed lady one hundred
                   mumbling under breath was said

                   left store in a hurry

Tough Friends

Just like football we’re hard hitting and rough,
If you want to hang with us, you’ve gotta be tough;

No sissies allowed, we don’t cry when we’re hurt,
We’re the kinda people that play in the dirt;

Daring each other to become more extreme,
Our bold eyes shining with a terrified gleam;

“I dare you to go slap that bull and run away”,
Is a typical thing we hear everyday;

Some call us crazy and they’re probably right,
Cause this bunch of friends is one scary sight.

Heart of the sea

As I dared into the sea,
The sand vanished below my feet.

And as I swam further and more,
And got far away from the shore.

I could see nothing but water all around,
Endless, pure and crystal clear to joys abound.

Directionless in expanse as I went,
A shift from exhileration to exhaustion.

There came a moment when I lost my breath,
And partook salty delight into my lungs.

Speechless, thoughtless, visionless as I descended,
Effortless deep down and down into the sea.

Utter calmness where all sea turbulence ends,
Is the Heart of the sea where my immortal soul rests!!

Silver Strands

Each year silver strands of sunlight become woven into my hair.
Just like the silver strands of sunlight that help bind us everywhere.
They light our way before us as we stumble forth each day.
They slowly lead us forward into the paths of great byways.

God sends these silver strands that slowly build a crown upon our heads…
And they are earned with the wisdom, learned throughout the years ahead.
The strands will weave a family, and unite us to others, too.
For they are the strands of love given to both: me and you.

Love and work together is how they are slowly earned.
And the weaving is slowly done as we add others in the sojourn.
But how are they bestowed as so slowly woven into our lives?
I would say it’s given by Gods divine grace, in time.

Arthurian Legend Part 1

Uther, the High king of England
fell in love with the Lady Igraine
Knowing she was married to Gorlois
he decided to fight the walrus

For he was the Duke of Tintagel
that Uther wanted to mangle
‘Thus he defeated his enemy’
and took her, his wife to be

The High King delighted to tell
of Merlin’s magical spell
How he’d become Gorlious in disguise
and fooled the Lady Igraine to socialize

Tintagel castle was full of joy
celebrating the birth of a baby boy
‘Twas Arthur they had named him’
a bonnie baby small and slim

They lived in a dangerous time
where Saxons attacked without sign
So Uther gave his son for safety
to his immortal wizard thats greatly

In time Merlin fostered him away
to Sir Ectors where he would stay
Raised in the Cornwall countryside
where he grew strong and very wise

He grew up with his foster brother Kay
not knowing his real parents any way
He didn’t know he was heir to the throne
until later when it became known

King Uther died and no one knew
about His son that should over rule
So arguments broke out everywhere
who should be King, who would dare

But Merlin had a cunning plan
to make Arthur take a stand
For he was the true king and heir
a kingdom he would rule and fair

A mysterious stone magically appeared
in St.Paul’s cathedral, in the garden rear
Extending out, was a huge sword
a message inscribed to my Lord
Whoever pulls this sword from the stone
will be the rightful High King of England’s throne

Eyes do Weep

When my son was young and so very, very wild…
I loved him dearly for he was my child.
But I feared the drugs, alcohol, and friends he did keep.
I knew they would destroy him, as I found my Eyes do weep.

We found a private High school with new peers to seek.
Miraculously, He found his own way back, and to college he did leap.
He chose a college and fraternity far away, as my eyes blurred again.
But the day he was on his own, became the best that’s ever been.

His fraternity became his brothers, and advice they dished out.
Study time became important, with gentlemanly behavior devout.
I’ll thank them each, in the leadership and help they all showed.
I’ll thank my son for growing up, and for becoming who we now know.
Community service brought blood drives, and teaching inner city kids.
They worked on their fraternity house, reclaiming it from the skids.
All parties had designated drivers to take every body home, all right.
They gathered clothes for the homeless to brighten up their life.
They built Homes For Humanity for to work he was never adverse.
Then, to add to the rest, he continued to work to become a nurse.
He put himself through college working in a hospital and ambulance.
He had learned a reverence for life, happiness, and yes, even patience.
My wild, wild son has found purpose in life and peace at long last.
And again my eyes do weep… This time with love so vast...

Max and Alton Towers

Little Max to Alton towers did go,
He went with his granddad, who some trains did want to show.

He loves his trains does Maxy, his excitement was mounting fast
Until he went on the “Runaway Train” then even his granddad was aghast.

The train set off WOO, WOO said Max, enjoying every minute
Until the speed picked up and he could hardly hang on in it.

Granddad hugged him close and tight
And looked at his little face, all screwed up in fright,

Then he found it was a reflection
Of Granddads, own pale complexion.

They clung together through all the dipping and the diving
Granddad trying to be brave, and Max not be depriving.

Woo, Woo, went Max but in quieter voice,
He didn’t really like this choice.

As the ride slowed down to stop, relief in Max and Granddad grew,
But oh they were in for a shock, when a second time round it flew.

A smiling Granddad holding tight to Max, he was trying to look so brave and strong
I don’t think I like this granddad, I think you have got this wrong.

Then the ride came thankfully to a stop,
Granddad lifted Max down, who to his knees did drop.

Thank you granddad that was good, but please make me a promise
I’m not sure I’ll believe it’s good, you can call me a doubting Thomas.

I’m sorry Max it was in, fun and I promise, and this is law,
I won’t take you on a train again, until you are at least the age of four.

Finding Peace

I walk among the weathered stones, Contemplating my life alone; Staring into the vanishing light, Praying for the courage to face the night; Fearing the endless days up ahead, I’m stuck here alone, no friends but the dead, Trapped in this place, never to be freed; I was deserted by all in my hour of need; I look around but no one is there, Filling my lonely heart with despair; The soulless blackbirds fly overhead, “Tirzah” they whisper, my name brings me dread; I’m stuck here alone with naught but my fear, The path to my future remaining unclear; I cling to the memory of my fading past; Hoping that I can find peace at last.

I Love My Dog

A true partnership, we share the need
to roam, and to relieve ourselves.

He pulls me forward, in his scented
search for residue, he is also yearning.

We drift through his neighborhood, he
exposes me to his dreams, I follow.

I begin to see things from his point of
view, we share underlying curiosities.

And then she appears, apprehensively we
skirt around, until she disappears.

We turn around, and return to our lesser
world, to revisit and reflect anew.

I know how it feels old boy, the pull of
the leash, putting her just out of reach.

Quietly we make our way, footsteps
toward the creaking door, I love my dog.

Rammed Into The Weedbed

Rammed into the weedbed she found her way to shore.
Her thoughts invaded by her crew who shifted on her boards.
Back across the water; her visions through a door.
One that shut repeatedly when shipmates pulled her chords.
Resting now as though a chore
that sailors leave like lords.
Down the boardwalk from the floor
relieving her in hoards.
Maiden ship from head to core
who's damage comes in torrids
Without these journeys and your lore
these men would have no swords.

On Brighton Beach

Tents of various colours in parade across the sands
It's summer time in Brighton as the sun beams down so grand

Families too many to mention, on blanketed abound
Whilst laughter resonates from the children all around

Even nature has her say as the waves caress the shore
Just like yesterday, and so many years before

Gliding terns and seagulls grace the thermal flow
As they anticipate the pickings that present them down below

Rock pools gather attraction, a learning call for the young
Explained by thoughtful parents, of how we all began

Sails of shapes and sizes appear against the blues
Boats and ships aplenty in sailing tacking cruise

My day now nears it's end, on this wonderful Brighton Beach
So many joys surround me, I'm so thankful their in my reach

in this world even lions.. need their rest

Thoughts of this solo journey make me thrill
peaceful solitude for me is such a big deal

God knows in His Kingdom I work and invest
there's not another man that feels more blessed

God's chosen angels sometime need to heal
escape life's busy rush and get away to be still

Here, out in nature, is how healing is dressed
The lion regains his roar.. oh I'm so impressed

Angels regain their wings nature's curative pill
out here you touch heaven, you see and feel

Somewhere in the Skies

Somewhere in the skies full moon hides;
the stars sparkles and Sunlight chides.
Somewhere in the skies, eagles soar...
Dark clouds betide and thunderstorms roar.
Somewhere in the skies, bright days sleep...
Darkness decends and bright stars peep.
Somewhere in the skies, reality calls,
dewdrops distils and snowflakes fall.
Somewhere in the skies, nature sings
of seasons: autumn, winter and spring.
Somewhere in the skies the future lies;
season and times teach us to be wise.
Somewhere in the skies beauty looms;
radiant rays make the flowers bloom.
Somewhere is the skies, life is found...
Behold and hear sweet sights and sound.

ooooo’’’’’o’oooo ’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’

Mom’s old Toyota is the scourge of my existence with me driving; this sedan builds up resistance forty extra ticks to find the turn, the wheels missed by that time, I was really starting to get...pissed! Trying to scuff off my car vexations, another frustration on engine complications her back right tire decided to go pulmonary flat on a Friday, 8pm, it’s not fair and that's that So I'm squatting like a buffoon under an overpass praying the tow truck gets here real fast I really wondered how that air escaped when she just got all fixed up and washed To cool my heels, I switched on the radio knob, what! all it did was play dead as if to sob right between South Highway and 5th I wanted to slit her throat; she always gets her wish To make matters worse, tonight's the dance And seeing a luminous billboard whacked my plans, It screamed,” Is your car rented, old or borrowed? Great offer!…a brand-new one without all that sorrow.” © ----------------------------- Driving Me Crazy sponsored by Paula Swanson

Scaring Myself

I tiptoe through the darkness as silent as the night,
My ears attuned to any sound, there’s not a soul in sight;

Goosebumps prickle across my skin as panic washes over me,
I hear the slightest noise ahead and I strain my eyes to see;

My uneasy breathing fogs the air as my heart pounds on in dread,
I stand in the black frozen in fear, my feet have turned to lead;

I shiver uncontrollably as I wait in the dark alone,
Terror grips my heart as I prepare to face the unknown;

I’m poised on the balls of my feet ready to bolt into the night,
Then as I’m getting ready to make a dash, my hubby flips on a light!

Never Digress or Jest

I hope and pray, I never die like this.
For this would not have any bliss.
Running to a room with pain in chest,
Maybe from something I did digest.
Hoping to get rid of something thwarted,
Dying from heart attack as it departed.
Sitting upon a white porcelain throne,
This is not the way I want to be known.
Though hopefully my actions will pass,
Maybe oh maybe, it’s only a little gas.
If I were a king, then I wouldn’t mind.
Upon a golden throne they would find.
That I had died in gracious peace at last.
Though, my before mentioned place aghast,
Since I am no king, to pass away in jest,
There’re worse ways to die, then doing my best.

Soul of a Pacifist, Life of a Warrior

Don’t send those violent war movies my way
For on a dusty shelf they are sure to stay

All the bloodshed and gore I do without
But with personal crises I forever do bout

By pointless horror movies I’m repulsed
And yet I’ve been known to act on impulse

If you try to mess with someone I love
I might repay you with an angry shove

Caribbean islands are sweet retreats
But my travels follow adventure’s beat

Man versus nature storylines I prefer
But to view man versus man? I defer

In many ways I am a warrior
But my peaceful side puts up barriers

Wigging Me Out

Early one morning my Hubby was sleepily shuffling around and about.
Dawn was almost breaking and we were becoming late no doubt.
Toiletries were a waiting, as he shuffled near the morning throne.
Opening the lid, you’ll never guess what exited as a rocket blown.
EEEWWW …Poor little thing… Oh Who, you will never guess…
Out popped a little tree frog jumping at mach 2 in his quest…
Yes, he was wet and doing his very best as he stuck to the vanity.
For who can say how long he’d been trapped in there, you see?
It puzzled me to wonder… How he’d got to the second floor?
Poor little guy… I doubt he could have withstood very much more.
Now here we were to scare him… Yes, another time, I confide…
We had to get him past 3 dogs awaiting for food and to go outside.
It wouldn’t have been so bad if 3 squirrels weren’t watching from the tree.
None might have been so eager, if they’d known he came from our potty.
My jammied hubby ran for the mulch pile where sticks and leaves abound…
As I entertained the squirrels and doggies with tempting morsels all around.

Now I can’t say it was traumatic to save a little wayward froggy…
But I won’t be opening that lid without a light, especially, if I am groggy.
And I’ll move back out of range as I lift the lid… I thank you all the same.
And next time I won’t forget to clean the toilet in a timely way, to my shame.
And I won’t ask my hubby to wash his hands 10 times daily… come next May.
Now I know you may not believe me… but I'll take an oath on this… I say.

new begining

By Sashi. Prabhu (ZEAUOXIAN)
I am not afraid any more, I am not afraid any more. I have cheated my fears alright, I have broken up with my doubts uptight. I am not afraid any more, I am not afraid any more. I got engaged to my faith last night, I married my dreams at the sight of first light. I am not afraid to get up today, I am not afraid to wake up to another day today, I am not afraid to open my eyes and see today, I am not afraid to climb out of bed today. I am ready to walk into the gardens in the heavy rains, I am ready to open my nose and smell of mud from wet terrain I am ready to face the world all alone, I am ready to do anything to walk up the stepping stone. I am ready to say anything to anyone, I am ready to talk to anyone under the sun. I am ready to yell from mountain tops, I am ready to dive from ravine drops. I am ready to walk for a cause, I am ready to run to protect environmental laws. I am ready to touch taboo objects & subjects I am ready to work on regressions of y on x I am ready to understand tangled issues, I am ready to wipe all tears with tissues. I am ready to taste tropical fruits, I am ready to chop, boil and eat bamboo shoots I am ready to jump out from a moving truck, I am ready to pull my allies from loads of muck. I am ready to be creative again, I am ready to write and spill out my joys and pain. I am ready to sing and hear my own songs, I am ready to correct my own wrongs. I am ready to throw a stone afar, I am ready to play my own music for all with the door ajar. I am ready to write notes about me, I am ready to put them up for all to see. I am ready to whistle whilst I walk down the alley, I am ready to bring out tunes and them create verbally I am not afraid any more, I am not afraid any more.

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Darts

Drops of sweat slip from my furrowed brow
Eyes squint, select a number and let fly now

Miss again, a millimetre is a mile once more
Aimed for triple twenty, only got double four

The walk of shame, my oh so familiar friend
Silence broken, on alcohol I forever depend

The steel point of eyes bore into my neck
My opponent leaves me a juddering wreck

I lose the match; the wife won’t give me a kiss

Seagull and the Penguin

A sea gull flew over the ocean admiring his reflection every day.
Passing over the shore, he saw penguins at work and careful play.
What an ugly bird they are he suddenly proclaimed.
They can’t fly and still they strut… know they no shame!

One day the gull was swooping down angling for a fish…
When suddenly an orca whale knocked him in the briny brink.
Snapping and churning the orca would soon have his way.
The gull was surely lost, if he could not gain the air to stay.

Moments before the whale pod arrived the penguins chose to assist.
They chose to distract the whale, giving the gull a chance to resist.
The orca didn’t care which meal he had as long as there was one…
He finally beached himself upon the shore, and still he hadn’t won.

At that point the gull realized, the penguins were really seriously cool.
They could certainly fly in the water, if maybe not the air to rule.
Now friends for life… he would scout for them safe passage to their fish.
Indeed, the gull flew away that day a little wiser, knowing he’d been remiss.

Everyone in life is different. He surmised… It’s not a choice they’ve made.
But now he knows each demands respect… in their own separate way.

Beware the Beast

       Substituting for you?
Is that what I'm supposed to do?
I woke to find myself alone
       inside this shell,
     this rancid home.

       Am I supposed
to play the part....
         A monster
with a broken heart?
Where has your lover up and gone?
Is that why I am so alone?

  This mirrored face,
this mirrored form,
so far removed now from the norm,
This jagged soul feels no remorse
I cannot keep this beastly course.

  Madness whispers in my ear,
come back! ,come home!
or else I fear,
These jaws of death must surely seek
an innocent so mild and meek,

      there is a force
 within these bones
    driving,driving ,hear them moan?
         or is that me ?
         I cannot tell,
the blood,the bones,the rancid smell,

I feel the merging of my will,
        the beast will out!
          I feel the thrill,

the moon is rising up my spine,
      beware the beast............

     the night is mine!

Feel The Wind

Look at the lines begging your touch, beautifully, aerodynamically sound.
The color and aesthetics call for you to blend and wrap around.
The curves, and lines nurture you, adding layers to what you touch.
Feel the connection between body and road, a car will never do so much.
No isolation to hold you back, you’re one with the road to search.
You start with your feet planted on either side, in charge of this lofty perch.
Standing, balance it beautifully, it’s movements yours to command.
When the power goes on you’ll feel it within, together with the sound.
It’s flexible and vibrates, the likes of which will twist your thoughts around....
As you rev the motor, the power will travel your body lifting you among the clouds.
The control you have will mesmerize, as you control its very breath.
You’ll feel like a chameleon, caressing the road on which you will be blessed...
The vibrations of the road will touch you, as you ride this jewel with flair.
It feels wilder than a car, as your mind embraces it, but beware...
As it engages you heart and mind, powerful fantasies begin flowing through the air.
But pay close attention, for danger is always leering about, inattention can death
It can be primal, it can be brutal, and it can be heaven beyond compare.
But mostly it is freedom, a commodity seldom found, anywhere.
Raise your face shield. Feel the power of what you’re riding in.
The wind caresses your face with its heavy sigh, against your sensitive skin.
Stretch out your hand. Feel the wind. Allow it between your fingers to flow so rare…
And the wind will answer in return, stroking, your body, clothes, and hair.
The feel of the wind is intoxicating, as your life with it you share.
It makes you feel in control, yes, of even the sensuous air.
The wind, and the power… beckon your sense of freedom forth.
The road goes off to the horizon, your buddies at your side.
Your lady is there snug against you. Are you ready for this ride?

Dedicated to my father Roger French riding across country at 78, my brother
Dale French riding with him, and their friend Jerry Rose.

Spring is found in the Lowland valleys with gowan-filled braes of Scotland
When the early-reaching flowers bloom in cool freshness, and
The air is bracing and always new-washed-glass clean -
With the Ochils in the background green,
Willing us, begging us -- Go to the heather hills, please !
Around Ben Lomond, they perfume the breeze
With memories of Bruce and Wallace
And feel young in our face.

Summer is a thousand-mile southbound road trip heading
To Yellowstone through Montana and Wyoming,
With 104F degree air gushing in the vent,
And dinner in the Angel Inn, where we went
For a chicken smorgasbord snack
And a cool six pack.

Autumn is a Saskatchewan garden with leaves singing,
Tenacious against a hissing wind; and clinging
Above the grass, feeling the snow-chilled bite,
Anticipating a coming gown of white.

Winter is everything dead:

After The Storm

After the storm comes the rainbow
All my life I've been told so
But I won't wait at my window
I will stand strong and paint all the sky's tears yellow

After the storm comes the calm
Once it's cold but then it's warm
I'll catch a fallen tear inside of my palm
Make it a flower and put it in my hair

After the storm there's a sunshine
I'll make a wish when it's sundown
And when you wake up at sunrise
A beautiful smile will replace your frown

After the storm, after the storm
It is all calm and bright and warm
A peace calling 'cause war is gone
Dark place illuminated by the sun

After the storm I found your face
As stunned as I was in front of your grace
I looked back, smiled on perils past
With the flower in my hair, wished for a sun that'll last

Tactless Travel

Let’s travel to the edge of the earth

With sunshine in our veins

Let’s see how much this life is worth

As we leave out all our pains

We’ll go for miles, and we won’t stop

The sun will soon attack

Our lives we’ll trade, our hearts we’ll swap

We’re never coming back

A whole new start, a second chance

Floats softly into June

We’ll wade our time in cheap romance

As we howl at a transient moon

An ice cold flood of independence

Forms our own wicked sense of style

Our world needs more transcendence

This world just needs to smile

The ringing in our ears is no longer just a sound

The image of freedom is no longer just a dream

Because this limitless world is just a playground

Or so it may seem

The Love triangle: A boy, his dog, and a ball

One day I discovered a love triangle going on in the yard, where I sit.
A boy loved his red ball, so did his dog, and the balls love was split.
Back and forth the ball went forever into play, never to quietly sit.
Nowhere could it find the right place in which to ever fit.
First to the boy, then the dog. It’s love kept it on track.
The ball traveled with them everywhere, nothing did it lack.
It’s life consisted of simple things, and following them around.
The beach, and grassy park became their beloved friends in town.
A few times it did escape, but was quickly caught and put back in play.
But all in all, every thing was fine as it was sent, to and fro each day.
Some times they would roll it.
Sometimes they would bounce it.
Sometimes it hit the roof.
But it never failed to sparkle, no matter how much punishment it took.
Once a storm came along, and they hugged it in the house that shook
It was the courage of the little ball, which kept them safe, no doubt.
When the rain went away, they went back to the sunshine to run about.

Then the little boy went away, now the dog and the ball patiently wait each day.
Someday, several little boys will come here again to play.
It’s just like children to come along, you know they definitely will.
But for now, I have a surprise, for I’ll be babysitting the boy down the hill.

How I Tried On Valentine's

How I tried on Valentine's
all over the many years.
I've lost all of my Valentine's
and most of them in tears.

How I tried on Valentine's
to find my merry mate.
Working through the ugly
and possible first-rate.

How I tried on Valentine's
Forgetting all my failures.
Moving to the next one
oblivious of the bailers.

How I tried on Valentine's
to settle for much less.
Hoping that the next one
Would change and reassess.

How I tried on Valentine's
to go the other way.
Hoping that they'd chase me
finding me as clay.

How I tried on Valentine's
to say what's on my mind.
Shouting out my arrogants
and baiting the wrong kind.

How I tried on Valentine's
to make a friend at first.
Only to be shunned again
by girls who want you worst.

How I tried on Valentine's
to wait for the right time.
Left to find my girl
on another's dime.

How I tried on Valentine's
to spin a small milk bottle.
Landing on a stranger
foreign without throttle.

How I tried on Valentine's
to meet up with a bore.
When all she kept on talking 'bout
was nothing and no more.

How I tried on Valentine's
coveting one man's wife.
Only to release her
sharing in man's strife.

How I tried on Valentine's
Loving her full body.
Finding that she had no mind
and wished she had a hobby.

How I tried on Valentine's
Waiting to make love.
Ending up with others
When push came into shove.

How I tried on Valentine's
Seeking out a hottie.
Making me a sickly boy
who's doctor now called naughty.

How I tried on Valentine's
Expecting an easy date.
Getting just the opposite
but figuring it too late.

How I tried on Valentine's
Jailbait in short skirts.
Quick to kiss what doesn't last
and limits to their flirts.

How I tried on Valentine's
making the first move.
Only to find I'm ignored
for others in her grove.

How I tried on Valentine's
forcing my own way.
Told by a cold shoulder
How I could not stay.

How I tried on Valentine's
two instead of one
Only to be shot down
and told that I am done.

How I tried on Valentine's
Perfect to a tee.
Wanting only to be seen
in a bar as fee.

How I tried on Valentine's
Cautious and carefree.
Never knew what she was thinking
or who was bird or bee.

How I tried on Valentine's
remembering what I've learned.
Speaking words of wisdom
and loves that have been spurned.

Drinking Absinthe

Drinking absinthe the color green,
snuck from Ireland in a bag unseen.

Dreams of faeries in my green bean patch,
chasing leprechauns I never can catch.

Into a cave, where St. Patrick sat,
on a rock, stroking an old fuzzy cat.

"What's up, Pat!" I said with a slur.
"You know" He said "Drink is not your cure."

"Well, Pat." I slurred. "It will work for now."
"Gotta go, I lost my bottle some how."

Back to the porch, I stumbled and crawled.
To awaken alone, with photos sprawled.

Believe and Forgive

Introduction: Sometimes your life sinks down a little,
And when it does try and fight for Islam and have faith in Allah,
ask for His divine guidance, believe and respect everyone,
don't hold any grudge against someone,
forgive them and surrender completely to Allah
And believe in His graceful light.

Don't fall apart,
When light fades away
Look deep in your heart,
Allah will aid your way

Nothing feels wrong,
While nature sings song
Days go along,
Until we're gone

Don't deceive,
Just learn to heed
Do believe,
And you will forgive.

This Morning

Dreaming of Starbucks, a pound on the sink.
Brushing my teeth, I was ready to think.

Then half a cup to savor with a roll,
The last half to down nine pills as life's toll.

In the calm of my day dream, Hell did fall,
Guys with chain-saws next door loudly did call.

I court my poems with morning coffee,
My notes now looked like crumbled brown toffee!

My morning was ruined by those dark facts,
Damn construction guys in stupid hard hats!

They told me today the job would be done.
I should tempt them with whiskey just for fun.

They'd get toasted while my poems I'd tweak,
The pleasure would keep me up for a week.

As an adult, I must live and be nice...
Yet, now my nerves are as stiff as old rice.

The Mainstream Is Polluted

'Hey, over here! '
Said the road less followed
'Here is the antidote,
For the lies you have swallowed.
It's not your fault,
Your instincts were diluted,
You were thinking from the Mainstream,
Which is deeply polluted.
The lies in this stream,
Will not keep you afloat,
Heavy untruths have been jammed
Down your throat.
Banksters, Media Hounds, Pharmaceutical lice
All swimming in lies
Screaming 'take my advice'
Backpaddle and see it,
For all that it's not,
This poison will blind you,
Free thoughts left to rot.
Turn off your tv,
Pull out the plug,
Stop reading the news,
Stop taking their drugs.
Pick up your book,
And rest your back on a tree
The world wide webs in nature
Will return you to simplicity'
A smart little cookie
Was this road travelled not,
A timely reminder
Of what logic forgot.

In A Land Called Fantasy

The shadows loom above my head
Filling the village, we're full of dread

The mountains behind me shake violently
Yet I see something bright, near the sea

A break in the clouds, sun shines down
Upon Gossamer's Palace- like a flowing gold gown

And though we are far from the palace
I no longer feel a dark malice

The fog that drifts by the sea
Comes closer and closer still to me

I no longer want to stand in the dark
I want to hear the song of the lark, the sun's spark

I take off on foot, to travel the road
Eventually to go to the castle's abode

The path is blocked on the straighter way
But I cannot, no- I will not stay

So I travel on a dirt line in the grass
Tenderly, as if my feet on shattered glass

It takes me farther, and I am lost
It's getting cold, I feel the frost

Everything seems the same to me
And I pray, I pray so fervently

And I travel on, without much change
Waiting for the scene to rearrange

The road seems tedious, withered and long
But despite the setbacks, my hope isn't gone

For still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate

that'll bring me safely to the place
I've dreamed of with a smiling face

And to my delight as I round the bend
the selfsame scenery is at an end

i hear the waves, I see the light
And there's the palace shining bright

the magic mist surrounds the sea
And I'm happy in this land called fantasy

Up, Up, and Away

Balloons carried into the blue, blue sky
Delighted little eyes watched them fly

The breeze carried happiness and smiles
Following their flight across the miles

A bit of magic as each soared away
Up, up, they went on that happy day

A kaleidoscope of red and green and blue
Their little strings waving as off they flew

One by one they sailed far out of sight
Swirling and whirling on wondrous flight

With one last wave the children turned for home
But with their balloons their hearts still roam....

The sun touches me and the cold leaves from within.
I smell the good clean earth beneath my feet again.
The ground isn’t frozen. It feels so fertile once more.
The wind kisses my skin with warmth I want to store.
It’s still very chilly around here late at night.
But the beauty of the sun has begun to be just right.
I see the tips of new growth, springing up everywhere.
At last I leave my winter lair, for I have much to prepare.
A shower is coming tomorrow. I must hurry to set my plants.
But first I must rake the old leaves, left from winter’s rants.
My dogs stay close beside me to sniff the new tilled earth.
Even the smallest animals, rejoice in spring’s rebirth.
The images that beseech me as I leave this old house…
Are young, fresh, and with their colors I’ll soon be doused.
As the heavens begin to open and again bless this land…
My mind opens to see, the touch of God’s own hand.

Angel Mythology

From the dream of a mage
Here comes the Ice Age
The unforseen illusion
That gives birth to abusion
Bringing upon humanity
A new mentality.

And in this dammed night
When i had slept so tight
2 wings searched the sky
For humans not to die
They searched for the sinner
The infamous beginner
To alter his mentality
With her sexuality
But he sleeps so tight
She can't bring him light
So she enters the dream
Where the 2 will sin

In a world of light
Full of pleasure and delight
A boy fights with might
The beast that took his light
The boy was bitten
He almost got eaten
Helpless in despair
The boy had to be cared
She flied low
Feeling the flow
Saving the boy
Bringing him joy.

In a green forest
A boy and a girl rest
The wings not to be seen
She fell in love with his sin.

Ah, I Remember It Well....

T’was an upside down world,
When I was uncurled,

They counted my fingers ‘n toes
And sucked out my nose,

It was humiliating to say the least,
I looked like a ‘lil red squirmin’ beast.

Doctor hollered out “it’s a boy!”
Mama sighed “crap!” Daddy said “Joy!”

Pappy told Mama “it was money well spent”,
Till he saw.. that I was ..incontinent.

All the nurses smiling and I didn’t know why,
Till three days later they said good by.

I was a handsome young fellow though a little short,
And I sure am glad Mama didn’t abort.

Ole Doc Perry wished us all good luck,
And Daddy brought me home in the pickup truck.

Ah yes...I remember it well...

Scottish Hiland Encounter

A lonely solitary sound
With voice still young and yet profound
Floats lightly cross a mountain stream;
Her song an all consuming dream.
No Nightingale has pined as sweet
Nor laid such beauty at my feet.

Such plaintive strains of purity
Enrapture like a symphony.
No springtime trill of Whippoorwill
Can touch so much my weary will
Or shine as bright a healing light
To lift the darkness from the night.

No Sirens of exotic seas
Heard off the Southern Hebrides
Could lift so high my troubled soul
Or fill it full to joyous whole.
Her Highland Gaelic, lost to me,
In perfect pitch and melody.

Yet language lost does not affect
My love for ancient dialect.
And now across a foggy stream
I see her there as in a dream;
She sees me standing here amiss,
Then throws a sweet and blissful kiss.

Bear and the Mocking Bird

Should I? Could I? Would I? The teenage bear was getting nowhere, fast.
He wanted that big salmon that had come up the falls, almost to his grasp.
But the current appeared too swift, for even a bear as strong as him.
Still, that salmon’s presence mocked him; he was dinner on the fin.
So as the bear lumbered out, a mocking bird suddenly began to mock…
“You’re going over the falls in one more step. Stop! Think! Think! Stop!”
“Didn’t your momma ever teach you even one simple little thing?”
Now, he had left home because his Momma had always told him what to do.
So he turned to the bird and growled… “Why should I listen to you?”
The bird mocked back… “Because you don’t stop and think things thru.”
Then, at that point the bear slipped, and almost went over the falls, it’s true!
He heard the bird mock, “Stop! Think! Think! Stop! Listen, you lumbering brute!”
Angrily and begrudgingly, he admitted the bird was right: a plan was due.
So with a branch he sent the salmon down to the bottom of the falls below.
Then, later with dinner replete, it was now time for dessert to bestow.
So he decided to visit the berry farmer and plunder most of his crop.
Again the mocking bird hollered at him. “Stop! Think! Think! Stop!”
“The farmer has a dog and gun! If you destroy his summers’ crop…”
“A bearskin rug will be your fate. So Stop! Think! Think! Stop!”
After 3 or 4 more times at mocking… The bear finally gave in…
For each time he had mocked him… He had also saved his life, again…
Since he had left momma behind, he now realized that he had done nothing right.
And though they were both rough, tough, loners: they still became strangely tight.
So in the end, they became fast friends, with each one helping the other out…

The moral to my story is: there’s a friend that can understand anyone, even you.
Friends don’t have to be beautiful or popular to be true and help you thru.
They are all very precious and none should be thrown away.

We are We can We must

Foreign are the thoughts of others
Like the minds of past lovers

Thoughts to which we may surmise and guess
Intentions remain questions, answers yet to confess

Reasoning reached through the labyrinth of the mind
Shared reactions due to the nature of our kind

Fractured we stand, divided by difference
Splintered we are, lacking repentance

We may pass, but hope remains, burning from within
We may ignore, but hurt remains, entrenched in sin

Pride leads to want, leads to power, leads to war
War leads to fight, leads to hurt, leads to more

Rise and fall, we cycle through civilization and destruction
Start and stall, we succumb to self-imposed attrition

Time unfolds and we're forced to react
We constantly plan, but we often lack the tact

To mend the cracks that divides our kind
To embrace the momentum of our time

To believe we can and must strive for more
To turn the key and walk through the door

Butterfly Beginnings

The butterfly flutters by begin, begin
as in true in nature love springs.

Ageless amazing nerves sing,
bowed tension on cello string.

Eyes which will not let go,
Father of Fire was bound, just so.

Bound was man by the gift of flame
for love brings man both joy and pain.

Butterflies flutter within the begin
ageless amazing nerves sing,

Bowed tension on cello string
a trail of kisses flowing, sting.

Dry tinder burning in Earth bound glory
love to Eye tells a comet’s trailing story.

Love begins on butterflies wings
with the bowed tension of a cello's string.

fire sparks

now close your eyes and see afar
the leveled horizon of the raconteur
who wields a power to conjure up
past daily drudge and interrupt

the mind to spark synapse connection
and fill it full of extrospection
tales of manes of horses and highways
and roughish plots galloping sideways

lovers and warriors and conniving wives
jesters too clever, and kings too unwise
jungles and oceans and barbarism abound
chests well treasured, and ships run aground

the chronicles continue crafting of characters
sublime scenes surveyed, defying descriptors
but sit, carry on flying fast o'er the earth
to hear the whole story of the whole universe

as the narrator goes on giving of account
with panache and flair to roundly expound
to ears of intensive interest say the least
about angels, gods, and the mark of the beast

to frighten, to enrage, to amuse for the now
to tearfully weep, for protagonist not allowed
to come to the zenith of courage and triumph
instead falling to dispair, of dim-lit asylum

and the teller continues on with the tale
of wills and inheritance and prospects unavailed
our enchantment's complete, attention absolute
to relish the stories with complete gratitude

crowds riot and armies and plagues awash over
the forests, the cities, green fields of clover
to roll on with the chronicle told by the fire
bombastic or mundane, more infatuating desire

the story is loved, and by the teller caressed
to be passed to the listener now happily blessed
what, we wonder, could be better than this
to be held by this tale, and passionately kissed

After The Storm

After the storm comes the rainbow
All my life I've been told so
But I won't wait at my window
I will stand strong and paint all the sky's tears yellow

After the storm comes the calm
Once it's cold but then it's warm
I'll catch a fallen tear inside of my palm
Make it a flower and put it in my hair

After the storm there's a sunshine
I'll make a wish when it's sundown
And when you wake up at sunrise
A beautiful smile will replace your frown

After the storm, after the storm
It is all calm and bright and warm
A peace calling 'cause war is gone
Dark place illuminated by the sun

After the storm I found your face
As stunned as I was in front of your grace
I looked back, smiled on perils past
With the flower in my hair, wished for a sun that'll last

Arthurian Legend Final Part

The battle for the kingdom was so intense
dead bodies were used to build defence
In the end few people survived
King Arthur, Mordred and Sir Bedivere ‘sighed

Now Arthur had forgot his enchanted sword
Excalibur, his mighty reward
He battled with Mordred in single combat
but was fatally wounded from Mordred’s attack

Mordred lay dead upon the ground
and Arthur’s blood from his wound streamed down
He ordered Bedivere to get Excalibur from the palace
and throw it back in the lake, for his malice

Now Arthur asked “what did you see”
Bedivere answered, “nothing I promise thee”
So Arthur asked him twice more
on the third time he replied, “a hand I saw”

As he lie dying three queens appeared
and carried him off to a boat, with tears
They rowed him away with a cry and a song
to stay forever in Avalon

Never was there a sovereign of Briton
As King Arthur, his legend and tales, still written
He formed the Knights of the Round Table
Gathered together friends and fables

My Birthday is Here - PLEASE READ IMMEDIATLY -

Just to let you know,
A very special day is approaching

Taking place on May 24th

The day I was born
And my mother and me adjoined

Cuddled and comforted
In each other's love

Tomorrow is the day
That I turn thirteen

Finally I will have entered,
My teens

From then on it will be consumed
By hormones and PMS and what-not that I will deal with

Somehow I look forward to aging even more
I grow more mature, but also more old

I think I'll be taken
Quite a bit more seriously

Not treated like a child,
How most people think we should be

So yes it will be my birthday,
In about two hours

I hope I get lots of comments
Wishing me a well one!!!!!

Tale of Fright

Frigid hands of a raven sky
Capture murmurs of a feral lullaby

Terror now awakens to cleave sensation
Dismay now devours thoughts of elation

Lucid black, the void prevails
Grasping the mind into its prolonging trails

Body asunder, shattering with dread
Passionate with fear from toe to head

It is from the night... dark, viscous, and saccharine
Dissolving in sky like honey in wine

That mesmerizes thought, body, and sight
Plundering all into a tale of fright...

Inspired by Dean Koontz's books of terror and beauty

On the Beach

Welcome to my house on the beach,
Where there are condos for $5 each

I, for one, am an interesting figure,
With my siamese fish who likes to paint pictures

And my single daughter Rosie,
Who's immune to posie

This place is somewhere with two sides,
You live your life first, and after you die.

I died at thirty-eight
From tripping down stairs just after I ate

Welcome to my house on the beach,
Come on inside and we can enjoy a peach!

Brand New Day

Introduction: Some days you feel alive, some days you don''s the elegance of life which many face in the days of existence. Through our own fray whatever it may be, we look out for a brand new way towards the light. We wander, more or less as a rabbit looking for its new home; crawling in and out within this baffled world to find serenity - To find a brand new day filled with everlasting aurora of peace and contentment.

Sometimes the sky is blue, sometimes it looks so white
Sometimes the truth hurts too, sometimes it's blinding bright
Sometimes this life feels short, sometimes it seems so long
Sometimes we go abroad, and at times we feel belonged

Sometimes we want to heal, sometimes we just let go
Sometimes we feel so real, sometimes we feel hollow
Sometimes we don't forgive, sometimes we don’t forget
Sometimes we feel captive, and at times we do regret

Sometimes we sure wonder and pray to leave things back
Sometimes we surrender and we get back in track
Sometimes we learn to deem the truth from the lies
Sometimes we feel the change and start a whole new life

One day we see one light that brings in so much hope
It shows one true love, in a whole new view
That day may be today, reading this here and now
These words aren't just to rhyme, but to put a vivid smile

A smile which won't leave off today
As we all know it's a brand new day.

Tale of a Monster and a Living Ancient

A time long last to a new beginning,
No one to condemn the last living being.
Fire sparks in its eyes
And it lays, as the other dies.
A mithril sword in the diamond cave,
The ancient being cannot be saved.
A new danger every single day,
He fights them off, keeping death at bay.
He flies by night, wings spread wide
No freedom to roam the skies by light.
Returning again to his forever home,
A brave knight slept from his mountain roam.
Seeing the monster, the beast roars
And the evil wakes, and the eagle soars.
A flash of heat and a sound of steel,
The ancient father had no time to reel.
He watched the monster as his fire died,
And the last dragon went for his last ride.

I do not know what tomorrow will bring

I do not know what tomorrow will bring
But today, oh today, just let us sing

Songs of life and all its creative potential
We are spirits born of something truly transcendental

In the world, not as one, together we all live
We feel the pain, we feel the joy; we take and we give

Some are bad, some are worse, but we share the same soul
To see past form, the transparency of life, some strive for this goal

We are alive, not then and there, but here and now
But perception blinds us; only seeing what it will allow

We have so much more locked deep inside
We mustn’t be afraid, we have nothing to hide

For all hopes and sins are shared; part of the human condition
If we do not strive to grow, we will fight a war of endless attrition

Arrested development; so much potential gone unnoticed
We live in our habits and regret moments missed

If we go inside and nurture that strength
We can be calm in the storm, no matter the length

Discover what brings this out of you
Because it’s through action that makes this true

Time and Tide

Sometimes, it seems, we wait for our dreams
we wait a bit too long.

Our childish dreams are the fount of schemes
though they maybe waylaid along.

We read of mighty Hercules and Odysseus on the sea
for they rush to sirens song.

We wait, and wait at unopened gates, until our psyche screams
your life must soon be born.

The Great Wall called, but I was too late, it seems
perhaps, I got it wrong?

The grandeur had left in shrouded seams
as we bore and birthed the throng.

The pyramids, the stone, the sand, the Kings, the royal themes
ravaged by man and time forlorn.

So, do not wait, at that gate, follow your childish dreams
for St. Peter waits at another gate when Gabrielle blows his horn!

Part 2 the wolf story contest

They surrounded him with ruthless intentions,
Until he quickly decided to mention,
“I am more like you wolves than you think”
“I am your human, missing link”
“Let me prove to all of you”
“That I am capable of being a wolf too”
Their blood thirsty eyes suddenly subsided,
He was given 24 hours to show them he should be permanently invited,
For he had nothing to lose and everything to gain,
He had just survived a grizzly bear’s night time game,
The man explained that he had just retired,
The life he had lived had simply expired,
He was now more alive than he had ever been before,
Little did he know what these wolves had in store,
The journey was to begin at sundown,
When all was quiet and no one was around,
They would come for him at half past eight,
And challenge this man and test his weight,
They said their last words then scuttled away,
Leaving this man to his thoughts all day,
He knew he was different; his head for the first time was clear,
He felt empowered and had not one fear,
With it all planned out in his mind,
He was confident that they would accept him after tonight as their kind,
He did not question what would happen if he failed their test,
With pride in his heart, he was confident he would be the best,
To keep himself busy until they came back,
He walked to a nearby stream, pulled out a knife from his knapsack
Caught some season trout,
He showed those fish what he was all about
He spent the rest of his day relaxing in the sun
Until darkness arrived and the fun had begun…

I always have visions of running up the hill.
Far from others but between us all.

Leaping from a rock that's molten black
and frozen in time at a distant call.

Surrounded by a carpet of bright green moss
with the feel of a mate and the urge to crawl.

A hill whose top exhilarates and sets you below the dew.
Where going back down's a pathway home and love a place to sprawl.

The Girl That Was Forgotten

Virgin skin and smiling eyes
lightly steps in black disguise.
The shadowed depths to travel in
‘neath lofted moon’s pale unveiling.
Spirited way on her lover’s calls,
sneaks through silent mirrored halls,
through the arch of guiltless pleasure,
down unknown flights of enthused lore.
Startled by the prickly shifting breeze
that stirs the ground that shadows seize.
Upon the hill steely gate unfairly wrought!
‘Tis the place where her lover sought,
and bid her in the high of the night,
through misshaped gate, past blinking light,
past chiseled warriors and over cobbled bridge
to their first meeting place the old garden ridge.
In shivering skin she stubbornly waits
pondering naught why her lover is late.
Her innocent heart not broken nor bent
doth not see what impatience may invent.
A tidy minute leads to a weary score,
a guard’s hour, and then many more.
Now heavy lidded her frowning eyes
play witness to the changing of the skies.
The darkness fades to the colour of rum
as she wishes well for whatever did become
of her lover, his kisses and knightly accord
to flatter her with the poetry she adored.
Her innocent heart somnolent and beset
lays its new pillow in the night of regret.
The dawning now bells jilted and wronged
for the girl was forgotten by the love that she longed.

Walking on the street

After dinner I was just walking on the street,
Suddenly behind me I heard sound of someone's walking feet.

It was 10 at night,
And around me I felt that evrything wasn't right.

My inner soul said that " turn around and whose there take a look ",
But my foot ignored it and another step forward it took.

Suddenly the atmosphere was also a different dish making,
And the trees around were thunderously shaking.

I was really shivering though it was not very cold,
But I motivated myself by remembering a thing that to me was told,
That in such a situation we should always be bold.

On my skin goosebumps I found,
But I took the name of god and turned around.

But fortunately only a few number of wards I could see,
And " where I am " came a voice from me.

I continued wondering that: I am where?
Suddenly I realised that I was just reading a book named " a place called here !"

I understood that I was just reading a big tale,
But of fear my face was still pale.

I thanked god and the sweat generated due to the fear I swept,
And again in the horror of the story I slept.

Book- a place called here
Character-sandy shortt

A Pallet

I was a pallet from somewhere, I arrived in Telford one day
I spent my time in a warehouse, till somebody whisked me away

They took me home in a motor car, hid me in a shed
Eventually they took me out, to a jigsaw I was led

I was cut into little pieces, painted a glorious brown
Then before I knew were I was, I headed to another town

The town was by the seaside, I'm sure they call it Rhyl
The seagulls they fly around me, making a noise so shrill

As for me I am perfectly happy, as on a veranda I lay
Holding hot tea and coffee, as people holiday

From dreary little pallet, to handy table top
My owner uses me daily and happily here I'll stop

A moment

Waters stall on a warm winters night.
The craft I pull takes on its stillness.

Breathing in old circumstance.
My Desire reflects clearer than I saw before.

On a rock face far, his hand reaches out to me.
My palms penetrate the glassy surface and fold into his.

Mist forms.
Dare I hope?

In but a moment the river starts again,
and we must release.

Drifting forward.
Buds imprint the skin.

Wolf Drinking Water by Moonlight

Never a crescent but opalescent
This globe, suspended and always present
And the Wolf cannot be flesh or bone
In this void in time's dim desert zone

The Wolf drinks water by frozen moonlight
Tween slurps She's panting with all of her might
Behind Her is cool, clear space, not a sound
Only the dream, the moon, the pond, the ground

Before Her, Her own urge to lap abounds
Wet shadow animates Her slurping sounds
As She's prowling, the dreams of human minds
Resume here, and secret voices She finds

While the Wolf lingers in psychic powers
None shall wake, but quake, for several hours
Their minds in this clearing, none can hide
Into this stretch they've strayed, some petrified

Sleeping souls, unseen, drift round Her shadow
Longing to escape to some green meadow
Gathered souls meld with Her strange oasis
Their liquid ripples squirm like their faces

In each warm, active mind synapses spark
Captives perceive images as they arc
Meanwhile, the Wolf; in spirit world She drinks
A united sea; thoughts each dreamer thinks

Her lips draw in the collective spirit
Of their curious nature; they fear it
In Her belly flows their merged collages;
Impressions of their entwined barrages

The Wolf's clear as glass, exposing patterns
In colors blazed like Neptune's, like Saturn's
From Her drinking head down to Her wagging tail
She's made of dreamers captured by sleep's spell

In the desert

In the desert

When sun is at its hottest peak,
And your reflection is turning to sleek,

When sweating is making you drown,
And extreme thirst is pulling you down,

Nothing beyond sand as far as you can see,
Even the camel's courage is bound to flee,

Mummifying wind will set you to tune,
At a glance will transform to sand dune,

When eyes go red and dry in suffrage,
What still keeps you moving in desert is a mirage!

A Halloween Tale

If you’re in the mood for a tale
Please come sit with me a spell

I’ll spin a yarn of sheer delight
Concerning October’s final night

Children dress up in their suits
Parents thinking, “Oh so cute”

Cauldron stirred by a giant spoon
Evil laughter echoes from the room

Goblins called to do their deed
As Vampires prepare to feed

I remember once when I was a boy
My excited heart raced with joy

My friends and I took to the streets
Filling bags with precious treats

All night long running around
Till we hit every house in town

One final house on Graveyard Hill
Suddenly the night was frozen still

As we headed up the crooked path
We heard the evil witches laugh

Too scared to run too scared to stay
Too scared to think too scared to pray

The Iron Gate slammed with a clatter
Suddenly everything was the matter

Lightening crackled in the sky
As across the moon an owl did fly

A silhouette made not a sound
As a fog started to cover the ground

I thought of what my sister had said
“Graveyard Hill is where they keep the dead”

The silhouette stepped through the door
Said, “Greedy children want some more”

Suddenly monsters came out of the brush
As our screams echoed in the midnight hush

Those monsters eyes danced with delight
As they delivered us to the witch that night

As we all prepared to meet our ends
It was just my sister and her friends

Play the Game

Some things are more important than others,
I suffer even as others suffer.

It takes time to realize,
Wisdom was not reserved for the wise.

Mistakes are the useful guides,
Guileless at last, I let go of my pride.

They are a part of me as I am a part of it all…
I play my part, I stand tall.

There is nothing to lose, glory or fame,
Play the game, Skipper, Nothing stays the same.

Come In, The Wind Dancer

Come in, you wind, please, settle down
Must be quite tired, all that rushing around!

Tell me a tale – oh, come on, dear wind!
Tell me what you’ve seen, tell me where you’ve been?

Yes, please come in, wind, to tell me a story –
Whatever you speak of, I know will not bore me

You’ve flown over here, blown over there,
Visited places no one would dare

You’ve traveled so near, traveled so far,
Say, what is it like to touch all those stars?

You can drip like the rain, rush like the water,
Cool things way down or make them much hotter

You come on in, my dear, dear friend wind
Blow right through my soul, cleanse me deep down within

Then, take me with you as you go, my dear wind
Carry me gently, pull me loose from my skin

Let’s dance windy waltzes as we swirl through the air
A lover’s embrace – feel the joy we will share

When our wind dance is over & you return me to human,
I’ll feel so much better, a happier woman!

Yes, let us go then, wind, you and I
Throughout the galaxies let us spread wings and fly

Across the blue, true dream of sky
Let us go then, wind, just you and I

Arthurian Legend Part 3

At his wedding Arthur received
a magnificent round table, he was pleased
From king Leodegrances of cameliard
graciously covered, impressively carved

As time went by Arthur decreed
twenty four men that would up heed
He made them knights and brothers to him
to keep the laws and not to sin

Twenty four knights, gallant and steady
to serve their king and country, ready
They sat round the table with one another
each one loving their fellow brother

One knight caught Arthur’s eye
his combat skills, extremely high
He made him his champion knight
Sir Lancelot, who relished the fight

The knights became so well known
throughout Briton, throughout Rome
There fame spread around the globe
to foreign countries they all rode

Slaying dragons and fighting battles
their missions heard, with deathly rattles
At Mount Badon their glorious victory
defeating the Saxons, the rest is history

Now the people had peace here in Briton
but the knights became unsettled and ridden
So at mystic Merlin’s magical suggestion
Arthur listened and didn’t question
They sent the knights on a crusade
to the Holy land where they all prayed
In search of the Holy Grail
which became a wondrous tale

The roman Emperor was so impressed
with Arthur’s army and religious quest
And after a lot of talk and fighting
gave him the western half of Europe, in writing

Queen Guinevere had fallen for Sir Lancelot
he returned her favours quite a lot
He tried hard to control his heart
but his love grew strong from the start
Poor Arthur did not know
until his nephew Mordred, told him so

The Blessing for My Book

As my job and health failed me... I dreamed to someday put together a
book of poetry and this will be the blessing it will begin with...

As I sit here weaving my poetry
Into the semblance of a book…
I find that I must ask Gods’ blessing…
For the journey, that together we have took.

I find I must bow my head in thought…
Over this book that together we have wrought
As my hands clasp oh so reverently and earnestly over my heart…
As I believe his help brought the words together that I sought.

And God set the journey that shaped what now before you begins…
He helped me find the words that reached through my heart to my pen.
I pray the poems will be worthy of what he showed me as my life’s art.
And upon this book I honestly pray that his blessing he will impart.

The Battle

Here we go men! Into the valiant fight!
Where men become men and cowards flee our sight!

Iron will clang and feet will race;
As bullets are thrown at a frightening pace!

Men will be thrown and cries will be heard –
As we fly our way through the smoke like a bird.

But in the end we shall acquire our victory;
And together we’ll go down in the great epic of history!

A Place To Hide Away...

I need a place to hide away
That i can go whether night or day
to lie and dream of you and i
In a world where dreams and hopes dont die
Far away from the greed and wrath
Sloth, envy and pride link to one path
All on this path travel in dark
Money and wealth will give them no spark
Along their path comes stife and pain
Quick, easy pleasures consumed in vain

I think of the future that they pursue
and my own future i seriously review

I decide i want to be an exception

As this dark path does not suit my perception.

Yes, lying here has been quite a refreshment

It is now easier to suffer torment

Knowing soon i shall drift and leave them behind

New friends, new cultures, new people i will find

Feeling rejuvenated i proceed to open my eyes
Life will not have structure, but adventures ready to arise

and the reunion will be nil

with family and friends lying still

                                               so for now I'll wait

for my sweet "Lord" to set the date

                                              to return for only me

Shrouded In Secrecy - The Team

Copyright © 2011 #307
9/Apr/2011 (0110hrs)

Dedicated to all Special Operations' Operatives Worldwide

Teams of Operators prepared for the call
honed and strong willed standing tall.

Shadows moving fearlessly in distant nights
these spirits never falter from death’s sight.

Back home, they’re not in headlines
etched in time behind foreign lines.

Year long deployments, and some dead
shrouded in secrecy the headlines read.

Seemed forever, did their loved ones wait
not sure of their Warrior’s return or fate.

Suddenly, from a sleepless night
  shuddering from dream’s fright.

Hearing that doorbell ring
  unsure of what it’ll bring.

One Warrior is finally home
  downrange another gone.

Their Badge of Courage within,
carried with them until the end.

Echoing slogans of life

The shying of success
When thou call to success
To overcome temptation
and suffocation.
Adaptation of beneath
And low underneath
Befall upon the falling
Scheming of town and
Patience is the overcomer
Don’t be in a hurry
It will be your turn sooner.

On Malvan Beach

Place: Malvan beach, konkan, Maharashtra, India
By: Sashi Prabhu, Date: 3rd march 2012.

As I trudge along with fancy and conceit, Tender soles and bare feet. Sandy saunter through virgin sands, Pathways lead up to blue waters of Malvan beach lands. A groove of coconut palm stands swaying tall, Shady steps embossed as pass on us all. Yellow-Green thatched leaves shades, cool breeze swipes south west, Ham mocked nets to cradle me lax if I rest. Cool breeze blows now is saline but strong, And the blue water melts to white foam. Lone eagle soars blue virgin skies, Many more from the brood join in and swirls as fishing boat gently pass by. A murder of crows’ pelagic fish they feast as on wet sands they briskly hop, Siberian crane, solitary sweep grabs sandy fish &thaws into the backdrop. I trudge along with fancy and conceit, Tender soles and bare feet. In the heat, indiscreet………. All clear ,no signs of jungles of concrete

That Night's Tale

With the moon above, shining bright And darkness lurking calmly(and quite Failing to ensnare the light), Now at this hour in the depth of night, I move on a living, breathing plain; (Some stray melody fills the brain) The eyes look up at the sky (A myriad of stars shines on high Only at me)and the Gods are kind As I trace my track, leaving the rest behind.. Strewn about this ground seem, bunches of grass (A little pond's covered with moss); The wind bellows, trees swish around; A patter of feet--no other sound: A heavy breathing feels my own- (or is it?)I hear a groan: A dark patch gleams in the velvet glow (Some thing's moved, I'm sure to know!), Something swiftly just dashes past me, While my keen eyes struggle to see. (Before this thing should try to harm, I must ready and gather arms) With a stone in hand and a sturdy stick, If I hit in time, I'd do the trick! For a moment all motion's ceased- The beating of the heart's increased; The air about's filled with a scent (My senses awake to this stench)- Two fixed-eyes shine to stare: Standing firm, I return the glare (Though courage seems to fail, I still make no move) But with nothing much to prove, I start to back a little slow. With the beast growling low, I'd thought of standing up to fight But now I think that I might Better as well change my way To be safe, so to say. Thus taking a few paces back, I turn around and change my track. Unclear and perplexed in mind- The silhouette having left behind- Lost from path and unsure, I come up to a door (Is this the place I have to go- Whether or not, I do not know). Stopping, I knock, and wait to tell (As a friendly face greets me well), ''On the shore of a wood, away from din This cottage stands, and if I be taken in: At a late hour tonight, I ventured on a path left behind; All this while the Gods were kind, For I escaped when death was nigh....'' (Before I end, there's heard a cry)- Even so, before another word- Nearby, a gun's shot is heard Followed by a hapless moan, An anxious fall at the ferny floor (I look-out to make sure): And a wounded man with a gun Walking-in from a battle won, Stands, while still in pain, ''As few paces remain To be traversed to reach This house'', begins he in his speech, ''A shadow of this beast confronting me, pounces and gets me down'' (His face changes to a frown) ''Whilst we struggle in a fight I try to reach with all might My gun on the ground that lay still, Take a shot and make my kill..!''

New Beginning

Introduction: It’s a piece dedicated to the lullaby of a different kind. It’s something which has happened to many out there, but the experience is distinctively significant…

A priceless surprise, silenced all in its tune By a soft heavenly cry, from the delivery room Only a few hours was the night; so young Where for the first time, she opened her eyes, While by her side her dearly loved one For the last time, closed her teary eyes Father held her near and resounded to her cry; But all mother could share was, this lullaby – The long last beep from the ECG Echoed her heartbeat…The last goodbye Happiness and sadness broke through the night With streams of tears for mother’s plight; She never had the chance to hold her close But left precious prayers that never left her side As she came down to their hearts Her soul flew up high apart, The transfer of two lives through one, Their journey was complete and done Caught within that reverie He conveyed the Azaan through her ears, In the wake of such irony He fell down to prostrate in tears When all hopes seemed to end, father’s prayer did transcend O’ Almighty became her closest friend and had for her a Grande plan, Under HIS mercy and HIS guide, she flourished through the darkest nights To a new beginning – she set off to write.

None bigger on the sea they say,
Or more beautiful night and day.
Shape immense and gracefully topping
The waves with purpose unstopping.
In a hurry, appointment with fate.
Big as a castle, and with a great
Sheer-sided, steel-tough wall;
But unable to see ahead at all.
Starry calm sea and waveless:
She faced ahead really eyeless.
The graceful cold white shape immense
Raced south in murderous innocence.
Hardly felt the shudder slight
When it occurred late that night.

Dance Alive Itty Bitty

Hope banks at the shores of eternity,
faith reaches for the realm of reality.
Hear the sparrows sing on broken boles,
listen to the splashing of rain on lost souls.
Look at the end of the tunnel O fearful!
wake up weary folks, life is beautiful.
The drum speaks of hope and fixed fate;
dance alive, sing aloud in your low estate.

Putrefying Overthrow

I plan my murderous ways deep within my mind.
She is ruthless and demeaning and so unkind.
Telling no-one of my prearranged scheme today,
No-one that can discuss this deed in anyway,
She is uncanny, mysteriously, skulking in house.
I despise her fortitude making me her mortal louse.
She deserves this death a thousand times more.
She has traveled from this place and that store.
Shopping and traveling with a hunger unknown.
She is destroying my castle and taking my throne.
A widow stumbling upon me, not once but twice,
Her planned arrangement, slightly at any price,
Our merger won by nature’s fortitude and design.
Coupled in society we had lived in life so fine.
She was about to meet the end, my perfect crime.
Our unity really forbidden, calibrated in time.
This murder will never be traced back to me.
No-one knew she existed, a complete mystery.
Poison my choice for destruction for my lady.
An agonizing painful death for Mrs. O’Grady,
She was a female that held a gratified divider.
My prey and murdered victim was a spider

THE MUSHERS RIDE OUT part 2 alaskan dog sledding

THE MUSHERS RIDE OUT (part 2) Arctic Dogsledding

But in the race-- the last sleds skid
             Fleet dashers kiss the road
             Excitement flows through panting limbs
             Among this glorious fold
             The mushers breathe in glories
‘Neath skies where grey eats blue
The dogs’ blood touched in magic
              Heart-boldness born anew
              For racing has its winners
The world will see one face
but the winning of this venture--
              is survival of the race

Foes and allies side by side
              Fate braids their wild desires
Each step through such life threatening lands
              Seek comforts flamed by fires.
A thousand miles will test their skill
In cold winds dark and fierce
A bond will form among these teams
No pot of gold can pierce
The old dogs teach the young
              Young mushers quickly grow
Keep straight the gangline as they run
Teams strain through ice and snow
When injured dogs bleed out their lives
               Leave blots of crimson tears
the lead dog takes the team to task
               Delays all pain and fears

And when they see the final leg
each team will tear in town
               where all are warmly welcomed
               and warmly bedded down.
                A noble nature rules here
               Despite life rough and cruel
A code of honor spurs them on
This life learned not in school.
              The widow’s lamp burns valiantly
               Awaits the last sweet team
And when they stagger cross the line
               The sirens gaily scream--
There is respect for hearts that blaze
               They offer brave ones rest--
The folks that welcome first to last
                Are sparks of Nature’s Best

The Beautiful Streams

I ponder at the beauty of the sea
Aesthetic paintings of the clouds displayed across everything I see

Birds migrate to different places of the world
Pens and papers await to write annals of this year's other side

Wind's red carpet leads the way
The sun adorns the distance's sway

A candle called me back to life
And drew me into the light of a smile

Was it a dream; a mere imgaination?
For I was a bird flying with no hesitation

I was going to knock on a door
But, a candle held me back from stepping onto the floor

Now, I smile as I walk across the lake
For it was not completely fake

For the lake held a picture
Of the moon's foundation

It was the moon's hand that carried me
Into Imagination's beautiful streams...

Circular Motion

Bleeding, living, dying
Hurting, loving, crying

Emotional distortion
Such a tumultuous portion

Humans in transition
On display, on a mission

Failure, success
One may only guess

Overall it’s underneath
After all it’s all belief

Stuck in motion
Inevitable devotion

Despite what some may feel
We all whirl around the wheel

Treasured Relic

“As long as it stands with four walls and a door, a church will remain a refuge”

		   Treasured Relic

I stroll upon the sandy path along the ocean side
And come upon a little church, well worn by time and tide.

Walking up the wooden steps, I open unlocked door.
Aware I am trespassing I continue to explore.

Fresh flowers at the altar and I soon come to realize,
This church is not abandoned. I was too quick to surmise.

Light through the stained glass windows is reflected on the walls,
As if lighting them for guidance of the choir to their stalls.

And then I hear them singing, notes still hang upon the air
From the last hymn they had offered to parishioners gathered there.

I turn as the church door opens and a small figure appears.
It is not a ghost or phantom, I see plainly as she nears.

She is a white haired lady with a smile upon her face.
I stumble quickly backward but she does not slow her pace.

I stammer an apology for my bold intrusion there.
She says, "You need not worry you are always welcome here.

It is kept for wayside travelers who might need a place to pray
And a refuge from the weather should one need a place to stay.

We still hold Sunday services when vacation folks are here.
Stay as long as you would like to stay. You’re welcome, never fear."

With a smile she turns and leaves me and I linger for an hour.
As I pray I feel His presence and His everlasting power.

Then gathering my coat and hat, I walk back to my parked car,
Knowing I have found a refuge after traveling afar.

Chosen Mortal Secrets

To see what I can become is a death without dyeing.
Here and now I let you know, have no powers of flying.
Powers I was born with are truly magical and beyond.
Incantations I speak are from the old language in bond.
Bonded to the facts that self-gain, comes back three fold,
This seal in the book that has been guarded and untold.
I shall not gain love from any spell that I should make.
Neither shall I change or sway anything for my sake.
Though upon my eighteenth birthday, love came for me.
Now I must choose magical powers or my love for thee.
My heart knows the answer, so thus I choose mortality.
So I close the book, ring the bell, light the candle internally.
Now you know my secret I have held as well my diversity.
I shall love you forever and be your husband beyond eternity.

Arthurian Legend Part 2

Now it was Kay’s first tournament day
And he was competing in London away
Arthur had forgotten his brother’s sword
And was in trouble with his Lord

In search of a sword he wondered alone
And there found a blade buried in stone
He pulled on the hilt, and slid out the shaft
Arthur gave out a joyous laugh

He ran back filled with glee
And gave him the sword he’d found for thee
His brother read the message aloud
Drawing in a confused crowd

Whoever withdraws the sword from this stone
Would be crowned King and succeed the throne
Many men tried and failed this task
But Arthur fulfilled his destiny at last

The crowd thronged and wanted to know
Who pulled the sword free from the stone
“It was I, it was I”, Arthur replied
Then you shall be King they all cried

Arthur was crowned by St.Dubricius
He was only fifteen, and vigorous
But the local kings would not agree
And formed an alliance against He

But Merlin was on Arthur’s side
And became his confidante and guide
He led him to a glorious lake
With a sorceres Lady for his name sake

Enchanting a spell, it's power restored
Blessed by the Gods, whom mystically forged
She named the sword Excalibur
Fit for a king and a mighty warrior

Then Arthur did battle with all the kings
He defeated them all, and did mighty things
With Excalibur always by his side
He won many battles and survived

Camelot became Arthur’s home
A grand royal palace for his throne
Leodegrances daughter did he court
A princess from another’s fort

Her name was Guinevere
Arthur loved and drew her near
In time he asked for her hand in marriage
King Leodegrances supplied a splended carriage

Angel Disguise

Learning, sleeping
Playing, wheeping
Integrating in the whole
Like a brick into the wall

Hearing whispers all the time
His unconscious needs sublime
Singing songs or writing poems
Escape he seeks, uncommon knowledge

Seeking perfection (not to mention) he fights the infection
That tries to stop his ascension (to the far dimension)
In silence he screams
He, who has the big, bad sins

An angel seeks his long lost soul,
For him in order not to fall
With the power of the gods
He survives against the odds

A She is created
To fit the unrated
The wish to fulfill
The dream to come still

Beyond, there's nothing more
Purity has lost his soul
Seeking desire
He has fallen into fire

Intense the burning hits his soul
In his hell he's gonna fall
From the dream he shakes and wakes
To take a bath and learn for math

Arthurian Legend Part 4

Now Sir Mordred was an evil knight
and always causing trouble and strife
He seeked to destroy Arthur’s throne
and take it from him, for his own

He was full of hate and jealousy
towards the king who became his enemy
Taught by the evil sorceress, Morgan le Fay
Arthur’s step sister, who led him astray

There was a court hearing for the Queen
but Sir Lancelot was nowhere to be seen
The judges decided to burn her at the stake
Sir Lancelot discovered his darlings’ fate
As the execution proceeded that day
Sir Lancelot swooped down and carried her away

They escaped to Brittany in France
Sir Lancelot’s home town, where he trained to lance
Now Arthur was in such a rage
he gathered his army to engage
They travelled to France in hot pursuit
ready to punish the deserted two

Now Mordred was left all alone
in Arthur’s kingdom, he took the throne
He would have inherited the whole estate
but he was greedy and couldn’t wait

He told the people that Arthur was dead
and he was now king and do as he said
He brought off the people with money and gifts
and raised an army, a rebellious rift
Now Excalibur was hidden away
but the scabbard gone, stolen by Fay

Arthur found out about Mordred’s rule
and returned from France to confront the fool
So Arthur and Mordred went to saddle
both armies’ Gathered ready to battle

But Merlin was nowhere to be found
the evil sorceress had him bound
Enclosed in a crystal cave
Unable to cast a spell to save

At Camlann they fought with spear and sword
a fierce and bloody battle, roared
The fighting lasted all through the day
high losses on both sides, bodies now lay

A Miraculous Journey

In a spaceship he traveled
On the moon he landed

Floating was exquisite
He couldn’t turn towards the exist

Ten days were all he had
To discover the moon’s sand

One day, a voice was heard somewhere near
Yet it wasn’t pretty clear

He closed his eyes
To focus and identify the voice’s lullaby

Slowly, it was so lucid
Engulfing him with words that were so placid

Every night he stood at the same spot
Where he heard the voice’s plot

Every night he thought deeply
To decipher the words he understood so feebly

Ten days passed
And it was time to go back to his homely land

He couldn’t wait to get an answer
To what he heard on the specific borders

Indeed it was a matter of time
When the answers were ready and sublime

For when he heard the justification
His life changed and his path became towards the righteous station

Final Fate

Final Fate

What if each wave was to wash away
All of the thoughts coming my way
And my mind became a blank space;
Of last thought, there was no trace.

In complete oblivion my mind is now
And no one will ever try to endow
Me with a thought that was their own;
Now my mind and body are left alone.

I, on a new path, will have to start
And pretend that I can play the part
Of a poetry writer who is trying to find
A new poem God will place in my mind.

Words come out and arrived in my pen;
I jot them down over and over again
And I always start out with a clean slate
So a better poem is my final fate.

When floods come freely

When floods come freely will we know
to place a dam below and catch the overflow?

When eyes are dim and spotty
will we ring the potty?

I wonder....when skin begins to sag
will our minds begin to freeze and lag?

Or will we run across the creek
our long lost family to seek?

Will we laugh for laughters sake
Or will we bake a cake?

When floods come freely
and age creeps higher sneekily....
Will we friends seek?

Horse Showing...

I’m standing here so nervous, just about to pass out
Terror has it’s grip on me-I’m filled to the brim with doubt

My palms are sweaty and itchy, I’m having trouble holding on,
What in the heck was I thinking, I should’ve just withdrawn;

Now Luck can sense my fear and he’s prancing side to side,
On the outside I might be smiling but my gut is twisting inside;

The judge is getting closer now, should I be on the left or right,
Wracking my brain to remember, no one knows of my plight;

I step around my horse’s nose, he’s finally standing still,
The Judge is looking Luck up and down with terrifying skill;

Things are flashing through my mind, I check them one by one,
Did I clip his ears, Did I paint his hoofs, I refuse to be outdone;

The Judge is almost finished now, he tips his hat to me,
I dip mine back and he moves on-I breathe a sigh of relief;

Now all we have to do is wait for his final judgment call,
I whisper softly to Lucky, “Soon you’ll be back in your stall”;

Waiting now is the hardest part, hoping we did alright,
A top ten would be amazing, if not we gave them a good fight;

A backwoods girl competing in such a prestigious show,
How Luck and me made it this far, I honestly don’t know;

The Judge is handing off his card, the results are about to be read,
My heart is pounding harder now, my body filled with dread;

They start at number 10 then count down to First Place,
10 is called, then 9, then 8-I hang my head in disgrace;

I’m certain now that we didn’t place, my dreams are shattered in two,
I shake my head in disappointment-So much for our debut;

“First Place number 6-6-2 handling Lucky White Star”
I’m sure I didn’t hear him right,  A cruel joke by far;

I stand there stunned to silence, then make my way to the gate,
Why on earth did he pick us, My questions will have to wait

I grab the blue and pin it on my Luck Mans haltered head
Truthfully I’d have been happy with Yellow, White, or Red

Shocked and stunned by this happy turn, I show my boy off proud

A Wild Wish

Into the wild I wish to go
Where birds fly free and flowers grow
To lose myself in state of mind
That other folks will rarely find
I want to find that special place
Where not a man has turned his face
I wish to sail the unseen waves
Of wind rushing through wild caves
To climb the mountains in all their height
And once atop in the view delight
To smell a rose and run with deer
Out in the wild I'll have no fear
Far away from any man
The noise and bustle that rule the land
When darkness falls I settle down
And listen to the owl's wise sound
I'll sleep beneath the watchful moon
And stars that shine o'er silent dune
When dawn springs forth and sun comes out
Awake I'll rise with joyous shout
Into the wild I wish to go
In summer sun or winter snow
To lose myself and then I'll find
The part of me that once was blind

Hawk and the Sparrows

The hawk was flying low: he was the fiercest in the sky.
He bullied all the little birds, and flew off with their lives.
The little birds were peaceful, and didn’t want to fight.
To them it was better: to run and hide, then finally to take flight.
Day after day he drove them closer, to the proverbial, final brink.
Then came the day, they rose up, and no more away to shrink.
Soon there would be hatchlings, so the bully, simply had to go.
No longer were they timid, it was their time to truly show.
Banding together they hatched a plan to run the bully day and night.
One can fight, one or two, but a mob shows way more might.
Constantly in pursuit, the bully was never allowed to rest…
The bully finally admitted defeat, and even moved his precious nest.
He could not protect it, if they kept him running away, and stressed.

The bully had finally learned the truth: that is my moral here…
The small may look an easy mark, but are not as helpless as they appear.
If the meek are brought to their knees… look out my bully… dear.

Adventures in the underground
did that grow up or down
Light on my head starring into the dark
what a funny word to be called as I imbark
Could it be because I tread water and guano up to my knees
or the sound I would make if I took a wrong step aiiee
Like an aztec two steps which way do I go
looking across the vast pothole
As I am pitching and squeezing back to the top
I am know speleologist but has any one seen the cave cop
I can see the light of day from this cavern
maybe next time let's just talk about it at the tavern
For I am filthy and dirty but not the word
maybe only to a caver if you have not heard

Sudbury Noodles

If people were noodles and lakes were their soup,

Sudbury's basin would be a great scoop.

300 lakes or just a bit more.

Some have been counting and some are just bored.

Sudbury's water is healthy and clean

leaving our noodles shining with gleam.

Fresh water soup minus the salt,

fresh as going into; fresh by default.

Trees for our parsley cover our shores

keeping us fancy and breathing for more.

Soup we serve fresh out of each bowl

welcoming noodles the world whole.

The Truth In The Dark

The truth is whispered in the dark
But is lost in the wind
People look ahead in life
Only to catch glimpses of the end

People saying ignorance is bliss
But knowledge is power
They say memories are like minutes
Cause your lifetimes like an hour

They say lies to get leverage
And accusations to point blame
Honesty to gain respect
And truth to bring shame

They say live your life
Like it just might end tomorrow
No time to feel regret
No time to feel sorrow

The truth may be lost in the dark
But very few can see
The real answers in life
Lie behind you and me

The Meadow

Floating on the low flying cloud that looks like Shriek
Over the meadow full of purple cone flower decked

A road in the very far distance does it go into town
Where the peace of the meadow with sound is drown

Thank you cloud for the ride over the mountain, many trees
Your comfortable cushion I've ridden with a day's ease

Let me down gently into the meadow so fair
I don't want to go back to life with reality so bare

Beautiful people
Under God's steeple

Just reach out
Stomp Holler Shout

Let one know
They're Loved So

Inspirations Aspirations
Show Em Representation

Tell Em their doing a great job
Never call them a big fat slob

Lend them your ear
Help wipe their tears

Illuminate their thoughts
Help them with their sought

Open new doors
Let less fortunate sleep on maple floors

Spare a dime
For you commuted no crime

Break bread if you must
For in God we trust

So beautiful people shine on
Come join all in this Heavenly bond

Magic Willow

There once was a boy and a magic willow tree
For in this tree the boy was all that he could be

The tree was old and strong
And together is where they belong

The branches hung low but the tree stood high
And together the boy believed they could fly

Adventures would arise
Many bad guys found there demise

The tree was a space ship ready for flight
To take the boy far out of sight

The tree was a fort
Or a big ship coming to port

The tree was a jungle gym
Letting the boy swing from limb to limb

When the boy ran out of imagination
This was not cause for hesitation

He still had yet to reach the top
Maybe a little afraid of the drop

But with this tree nothing was impossible
No adventure was ever stoppable

The higher the boy climbed
The more the world shined

As the top grew near
Far was he from fear

Together they saved the day
And all along it was just play

There came a time when the tree had to go
The boy was sad, but he did not know
That where this tree once stood, many more would grow

A Winters Walk

A winter’s walk may sound cold and unexciting.
Would you believe it can be so warm and inviting?
Indeed the beauty that is seen can warm you inside.
Not just the bright scene of snow, bringing pride.
Take the fresh smells that surround season’s glory.
Each step that you take brings forward a story.
Remembering childhood play, snowball fights you won.
Sled riding with friends to see who could be number one,
When your spirit and mind recalls adventures of past,
Angels shall fly overhead and fulfill your soul fast.
Let’s bundle ourselves go for a walk along this lane.
Knowing sweet hot cocoa waits, within our domain.

Be Awake

Feeling the world is big, with no power to see.
Saying it is so large no one can sense a degree.

Has been said you can change your world
Changing heartaches into happiness unfurled.

Power is in your hands, to change all things.
Faith flowing in your soul, the spirit brings.

Visions of your heart and mind will confirm.
Futures are made, do not wallow and squirm.

We all have a power and a purpose in life.
Seek and find, stay sharp as a knife.

Power is in your hands, decisions and choices.
What you hear in your mind is you; not voices.

Choice is a powerful tool, for to use and make.
Awakening the roads to travel, be sure you’re awake.

Snipe Hunt

Snipes are a kind of bird, difficult to spot
because they’re quiet and they hide a lot –
a kind of cross ‘twixt stool pigeon and an owl,
it is a bird that deserves to be called fowl.
Maybe a large rooster with antlers like a moose
some guys say they are more like a wild goose.
How do you catch them? Now that is where you
depend on luck; my friend hit one with his shoe.
Some make a cage from an old cardboard box
but pillowcases work. To really outfox
a large snipe, you may need to bring a rope
to tie him up; if it's real dark, you just hope.
First, you start to hear sounds - like gobblety-gook
and you may start to think that you are a schnook
but hang in there. Sometimes it takes all night
especially if the snipe puts up a fight.
First time I went, along about one o’clock
I smelled what I thought was a rat in a crock
quick as a wink, I caught onto a small snipe.
What a night! but I got it, all in one fell swipe.

The Hawk

The hawk flies high upon the sky his dinner there to seek.
His home the woods along the river- now subdivisions complete.
But he’s not down because he’s found more places yet to dwell.
Just look around and you will find a feast that’s sweet- I tell.
Upon a tree in our back yard he stands- much patience he bestows.
Look around, the food abounds, of this he greatly knows.
His nest is near, and all is clear that hunting is sublime.
Rabbits and quail, doves and mice, plus starlings he yells are mine.
In this area of much to choose, the clime is just so right
Snow does not quell his daily hunt or his fearless flight.
Streetlights are fine to view his space, to observe so neat.
When winter comes he will not run. He does not know retreat.
For snow and cold he holds no fear, forever on the prowl.
His eyes are sharp. He flies high, knowing there’s plenty of fowl.
He circles the trees gliding high, to descend on what he sees.
He knows his strength is in surprise, but proudly sits some trees.
He zooms in like a bombardier to birds I daily feed.
Now he occasionally finds a squirrel upon to take his need.
My little birdies I do love. I hate to see them scatter.
Pretty soon I do believe my window they will shatter.
The hawk is gold and brown to red, majestic is his stance.
He’d better get the squirrels and leave my birds, or we still may dance.
They are part of the circle of life, and endangered yet may be.
So I will put my slingshot down and not scare them away, you see.
Instead I’ll watch Darwin’s Dance to see who wins the treat.
Already the doves get up before dawn- my birdseed so smart to eat.
It’s quieter then, no hawks in view, they eat peacefully what they see.
The hawks are fast, but little birds do know to hide among the trees.
My little birds’ jump from branch to branch- the hawks are slower here.
And when the hawk does come about, the others quickly disappear.
But do not count him down and out. The hawk is king you see.
Though he still loses from time to time, he’s adapted and still is free.
And like the smaller little birds, he gets enough to eat.
I’m sure he’ll be here years to come. He is tough to beat.

Old Toby

I haven't been writing as much lately as I'm working toward finishing my degree. I apologise for that but I promise good things to come!

This one is for a good friend and co worker, Ben W. He's not a soppy poetry kinda guy, but he enjoys his pipe as much as I do. If you get this reference, you gain bonus points!

Perched on a log; Old Toby sat;
His furry feet, bare on his mat.
He draws on his pipe; hot it glows;
And blows smoke in such small O's.
Silver whisps do take the night air,
From a heated bowl; one to share.
The scent of pipeweed; hints of spice;
Burns through the stem, and soothes like ice.
The heavy taste sleeps on his tongue;
Teasing his heart; filling his lung.
His head wanders to lands afar;
The Elvish girl beneath her stars.
He sips on his stem but twice more,
Then tips the embers to the floor.

I thought for this'n I be a dodger,
But the Cap'n told me to hoist the Jolly Roger.

Skull 'n Bones on Black in the air,
Ye know, matey, that I be thar.

Me peg leg be a clompin' so loud,
Ye be sure to find me, even in a crowd.

With a patch o'er one eye 'n me parrot too,
Ye be sure that we be lookin' fer you!

Cutlalsses out 'n daggers in our teeth,
Ropes from the yardarms, hangin' b'neath.

If'n ye see me thar up on the deck,
Ye can be sure I be wantin' to put a rope 'round yor neck.

We be after the spoils of a bounteous sea,
That means RANSOM to you...GOLD for me!

For we be sellin' you to someone for gold,
'Else ye be not gettin' very old.

'N if we be needin' any more,
We be a takin' all them trinkets in ye ship's store.

Our Cap'n orders the ship turn about,
We be after yorn, without a doubt.

The Cap'n be a mean'un ye ought to know,
He be a blood spiller from long ago.

That's why he be the Cap'n ye see,
'N the crew to his word, we all step lively.

I seen him cut a man in two,
Cut out his heart, 'n eat his liver too!

So I be doin' what he tells me I should,
'Else I could become the Capn's food.

Any man of our crew ye would not want to see,
They be all cutthroats, just like me

The crew is lively that's for shor,
Especially when we get ashore.

We take no baths and get no scrub,
We be downin' all the ale, left in the pub.

They may look dirty and smell to thee,
But they be pleasin' 'n have a sweet aroma to me.

Oh, the pirate's life is one o' glory,
'S long 's ye be 'round to tell yer story.

'N one thing more I be tellin' you,
A'for I go 'n get a brew.

You can tell one's a pirate if'n ye want to seek,
Their talk is filled with contractives and other speak.

They eat only meat 'n fish fer no Gar,
"N at the end of their words, they al'ays say RRRRRRRRRRR!

Man In The Maze

In the meadow where dreams begin, there is a maze,
I've been trying to figure it out, all my days.

Someone I met there, offered to guide me,
I rejected boldly. I said "I'm doing this lonely."

Still, the man lifted me up, to show where I was going,
I looked in the distance, and it was brightly glowing.

I asked the man, if he knew how to get there,
He nodded, then smiled, and vanished in thin air.

I cried out to him. His knowledge is perfected.
And I wondered to myself, why I rejected.

Still I keep going, getting more and more confused,
I promise next time I see him, I won't refuse.

I tell you my friend, if you ever meet this man,
He will take you where you're going. He's the only one who can.

What Did I Ever Do To You

There are many things that are caught by the naked eye
They could be weird or strange or even crazy things that'll make you cry

Think my strangest encounter thus far
Was a little skunk caught in a snare from my car

In underbrush and weeds so high
Heard it's whimpers then saw it's final sigh

Razor edges wrapped around its head
For sure I thought it was dead

As I moved in closer to take a peek
Its hind back arched and sprayed oh how it reeked

Poor little guy I could do nothing for
Except call D.N.R and cry once more

As they placed it in a steel cage
Heard the officer say it was that of young age

When do you think one will learn
Gods creatures did nothing in return

Down Under

As I look up on the road again,
Southern lights dance on the barren plain.

Miles come and miles go,
Cloudless nights pass so very slow.

A promise pulls to the land's heart,
Far, far from journey's start.

Events and chance make emotions dance,
All aspects of adventure in a single glance.

Memories made and memories lost,
Journeys come at a unique cost.

Through the glade

The maidens face, fair and pure
The Devils will, sinister and obscure

She runs gracefully among the oleanders through the glade
Deep below, evil lurks, above light begins to fade

Darkness stretches across the land, spurring the young lady’s imagination
Rushing to the surface, Satan hides behind her nervous elation

Devious thoughts of goblins and witches dance through her mind
He feeds off of the desires and urges that tempt human kind

She falls asleep under a great oak tree, intoxicated by her vivid dreams
In her slumber he speaks to her, gently whispering “Not everything is as it seems.”

Springing to her feet she sprints back through the trees
Silently he watches her as she flees

Run real fast to a far away land ...

One day it will stop, and i'll take your hand
We will run real fast, to a far away land
Everything will be good, and we will smile
Everything we have done, will have been worthwhile

In this land
there's no lies
In this land
nobody cries
In this land
We'll be okay
In this land
We will stay

Upon this day, the clouds part for stars
We will watch and know, this place is ours
So far away, that the sun will always shine
So far where the scents, and the scenes intertwine

In this land
you'll love me
In this land
we'll be free
To this land
I hope you'll come
Cos in this land
I need someone

Incited by her Allure Sensuelle...
a vulnerable man is noticed by all.

Quite by nature, I rarely frequent clubs...
loud music turns me into a demon from hell.

She brought me so many Martinis on the Rocks...
I drank them too quickly and took a bad fall.

The spell in the potion must have acted too slowly...
I showed her respect, but she became too sensual.

Discovering the foul play, I was dismayed by her madnesss...
she left in a hurry and disappeared down the crowded hall.

Sailor moon is rising proud
‘Neath her sky of stars and cloud
A silvery moonlit trail she sends
To help us find the far seas’ ends

Then scudding fast from cloud to cloud,
She’ll wait behind each darkening shroud,
Light our craft, our bobbing cork,
And watch our small boat like a hawk.
Our silver ropes' lulling song -
The creamy sails drink in her strong
Steady shine - and all the crew -
Oh, Jason, Franklin - they all knew

The creamy foam, the prow going home
From passage icy up to Nome,
Adieu the Sirens of Anthemusa.
Sleepless dolphin lead their cruiser.

The creamy wake behind the stern
Shows her where we made a turn
Like Bounty, Santa Maria, Argo,
Bearing only her moonlight cargo.

A Combined Poem

A Combined Poem

If I am limited to ten poems a day
I'm sure there must be a way
To write all my poems until done
And will combine them all into one.

Poems are perfect not wanting to waste
With a new one each day I am faced
To write which are so very pleasing
As volume and velocity are increasing.

My poem amount has become huge
And hope to remove all the subterfuge
Which on occasion is worth repeating
So successfully obstacles can be meeting.

Each morning to wrote poems cannot wait
There is no doubt they will become great
And vital as part of a poetry recital
Poet Laureate some day will be my title.

Can Always Trust

People at Poetry Soup can always trust
To do there is something that I must
Send all my poems in emails to you
So can read them through and through.

There is a quadrain and a quatrain
And iambic hexameter which should remain
Central subject in my poetic philosophy
Affecting all of the verbage and its viscosity.

What I am saying is smoothly flowing
And a great temptation now is growing
From time I had first gotten out of bed
After morning prayer to God I just said.

I'm like a lover of the Lord who was led
By all of God's food I was recently fed
Which would be things making me willing
To write poems and purpose be fulfilling.

For Themselves Did Create

Were friends but still often fought
A lot and often could get caught
When all our dander up was raising
Then ended up applauding and praising.
To a movie show we started to go
Not knowing what on us would bestow
Stories about people being belligerent
And always fighting wherever they went.

Believe all of this wanted to refuse
That Tolkien anyone would abuse
And maybe someone like you and me
Will never hurt or have harmed a flew.

But still we watched battles going on
After that someplace then had gone
Which is reason I seem to understand
Why they ended up creating a Disneyland.

A world explored but never found.
A king born but never crowned.
A boat sunk that never sailed.
An experiment lost that never failed.
A ninja master who never fought.
A dangerous criminal who was never caught.
A rusting plane that never flew.
A clueless teen that never knew.
A knowledge far beyond our years
That makes us shed many tears.
Could we never make it right?
Will we forever refuse to fight?

Looking at the beautiful night sky, I felt the increasing thirst,
To know more about the stars, planets, sun, moon and the earth's crust,
Thus endless questions in my mind started to burst.

Is the amount of delight in watching the magnified view measurable,
Or it is just a moment which is among others the most pleasurable.

Can life be possible on the mars or the moon,
I definitely know that we will be able to find life traces there very soon.

Will we be ever able to step on the other planets or the stars,
If this is possible I will be on their surface relaxing for hours.

For me the sun is a thing to admire,
But can we also name it as a big ball on fire?

The most important question that do aliens exist
If yes, we all should from making with them contact should not resist.

The most honoured thing is the fast astrological progress,
And it is nothing but a result of abrupt hardwork and stress.

The hot topic in astrology today is to find other life traces,
But till now we are not able to find any beings with different faces.

Today also when I look around I think there is still many things to be found,
And the funny thing is that everything is infront of us just in a big blue roof it is bound.

Valley of the Souls

Way up in the mountaintops
Where even time seems to stop
Buried like a chunk of coal
Lies the valley of the souls
The beauty takes your breath away
For this is where the angels pray
Snow capped peaks standing tall
Surround the valley like a castle wall
Doing all that they can do
To keep the valley hid from view
I stumbled upon it one day
Searching for a place to pray
I felt so very all alone
With a heart as cold as stone
It took me better than a week
To ascend the mountain peak
As I stumbled across the mountain top
My beating heart seemed to stop
As water filled my humble eyes
I prayed the truth of twisted lies
Of God I ask a single plea
Let your Son come unto me
As I descended to the valley floor
I found the peace I was searching for
To all I had gained and all I had lost
The breeze took away the cost
Into my soul it was slowly burned
Make use of all the lessons learned
One day I shall have a spiritual birth
For all that’s born returns to the earth
My spirit will fly beautiful and free
Beyond all we know and all we see
To meet the maker who made us whole
And be welcomed into the valley of the souls

Great Chicken Soup Which is Inconclusive

Great Chicken Soup

Just ate some of her great chicken soup
Which really did throw me for a loop;
Had heated up after putting in micro-wave
And stored rest in fridge so I could save.

Then there in mail we received an abundance,
Most of it known for advertising redundance
And on TV started using word transparent
Which I wondered what to was it inherent.

Sure am glad that God is my magnificent man;
He gave me some ice cream believe butter pecan
Which was really great and a pure delight;
My today's life story from morning through night.

Oh, forgot about news show that I had dreaded;
A responsible reporter had been beheaded
Followed by a story about a Brown over-sized kid
Who about, whole neighborhood has flipped their lid.

Like someone so often said,
"Good news is no news at all;
so why should someone try to appall?
As quoted and made by me, myself
and the eye of suspension who I
forgot to mention.

Wake Up Sleepy Head

Pegasus of thy night
Take me away from this eartly plight

Lay down your golden reigns
Let me climb aboard your mythical train

Stars and moon's cresant's dance
Illuminating to others who gets this chance

Gold dust sprinkles in your hair
Closed eyes for take me there

Up Up and away we go
Pegasus take it nice and slow

Lustrious valleys and sno-capped peaks
Sparkling blue waters for which I seek

Just you and me my mountain friend
Taking this journey till the very end

As I lay my head upon your shoulders
For I feel their turning so much colder

Cannot feel from my head to foot
This dust sprinkle had turn to soot

I'm decending fast and furious
Woke up from dream being more curious

Written for my son Chris as he begins a new chapter in his life...

He left yesterday, the adventure now before him there...
Kids today, sometimes I just don't know...I swear.

He decided that a move from home would be just the thing
So now he's on his way to China...a jet on the wing.

What he'll do there is still uncertain
But, I know that he will do a lot of flirtin'.

He's thirty years old and a child no longer,
His mother and I wish we could be stronger.

For the coop is bare as is his room
We won't be hearing from him very soon.

The adventure has begun for him you see
I guess that this is the way it had to be.

Wanderlust in his imagination has taken hold
"Now", he said, "is the time for me to be bold".

He goes to seek his fortune and fame
Filled with the desire that beast to tame.

I'm sure he will tell us of his travels there
Shanghai, Wusii, and other places rare.

We now stare at each other and smile
Knowing that our son will be okay in awhile.

For he is grown and a man to be sure
Raised with good principles, integrity, and honor.

Yet, I as a father cannot explain
How I truly feel, the lingering pain.

Only a parent has to deal with this vice
With every child, you just roll the dice.

He will be in our thoughts and prayers
Though on the other side of the world I doubt that he cares.

He doesn't know the language, customs, or tradition
Yet off he's live in that condition.

Like the traveler of old that we read about in books
He will be searching for every new nuance in the crannies and nooks.

And when he returns from his sojourn there
Little will be the time he can spare.

For I know that he will turn around to return
More time to spend to sate the yearn.

And what do I call him now? ... if you ask me,
I think I'll refer to him as - "Marco Pulaski".

The Tracks of life

I was once a little train, sitting by the track, Listening to the freight yard’s roar and all the rushing clack When one day came steaming by an engine large and brave My heart did a quiver leap, my wheels a twitter gave Every day when passing by, the more our friendship grew With each fleeting whistle blast, and more each time it blew Then one day in passing, upon his track I went Joyfully to meet him, from wither he was sent Blasting from the distance, an airy cloud of steam I rushed forth to meet him, the engine of my dream Then with shock and wonder, my joy was gone alack! For though we both were meeting, he wasn’t on my track Off into the distance, he chugged and puffed away Sweeping with him pieces of my broken heart that day Often now I wonder, will he come anon? Or was this a chance meeting, and now again he’s gone? The tracks of life are tangled, in the freight yard of our race We meet other engines that hold both heart and place How to live? I wonder, when through our lives there sail Many other engines, that aren’t upon our rail Will we grow quite bitter, when those meetings on the tracks Seem to mock the aching heart for all the love it lacks? May each little engine take heed to what I bade This life below is scattered, with meetings on the grade Take each passing whistle not as one of gloom Pushing back the others, and making itself room I will always cherish, that engine bold and brave Remembering now with fondness, the joy to me he gave But now into the distance, I hear upon the breeze That fleeting cry of freedom, upon which my heart did seize Once every while, I gaze sadly down his track But in my little engine heart, he’s never coming back And so I hold those memories close, and never do I fail For God had a reason for our meeting on the rail

Homeboy Clown (Conclusion)

Every smile has a frown
In the life of a clown

We all hide behind painted faces

Our mind is our cell
Our own state of hell

Dreaming of far away places

We keep dreaming of free
Something we’ll never be

As our hopes drown in our fears

Our number is our name
Our life is our shame

Distorted by all of our tears

The years turn us cold
Over hearts we can’t hold

Our love is replaced by our hate

There is just one conclusion
It is all but an illusion

Because we create our own fate
We all hide behind painted faces
Dreaming of far away places

As our hopes drown in our fears
Distorted by all of our tears

Our love is replaced by hate
Because we create our own fate

Just a ghost inside a "Homeboy Clown"

Created for Michael's Contest

The conclusion is basically a rhyming Couplet
that has a non-rhyming conclusion at the
end of each stanza. At the end of the poem
the non rhyming conclusions must form their
own rhyming couplet stanzas with a non rhyming
conclusion that refers to the title. Note: The Couplets
in the first part of the poem must be even
numbered as to form a perfect couplet in
the second half.

The "Conclusion was invented by Michael Jordan

The Wild Girls

Under the moon light we dance, complete
We, the chaotic, who seldom sleep,

Sauntering strangely the way between,
Compelled by only our wildest dreams,

The wind is whipping through my hair,
Reminding me that I wish you were there,

But I keep on dancing with the dream brood,
Partaking of the sweetest elaisian food,

But, though we are so wild and free,
I find myself missing a part of me,

You remain home, as I walk this line,
And I now return to find you’re still mine.

A risk taker is an adventurer, a taster of the fresh dew;
never satisfied until he has found that something so new.

Celestial bodies are clearly seen on a starless and mild night,
when the grayish sky invites a painter to invent his own light.

So fly up and glide over your extraordinary planet, and finally discover
what poets and dreamers only imagine to exist in their passionate gesture.

The unmitigated impudence of this season has already brought its first, despised pang;
changing emerald leaves to dull auburn, reminding me of the briefness of life's span.

Can't find any excitement in the boring ways that spoil your day and make you sluggish?
Try flying up and glide over this planet's panorama that can grant the spectator's wish.

Earth-bound with that satiated feeling, departing from a glorious view and a gibbous moon;
glad to land on a snowless ground, too anxious to send up, on drifting winds, my red balloon.

On a hillside in a pasture of green
Taking in all the beauty sometimes never seen
In the distance the sun starts to sink
Pausing for a moment of reflection, quiet time to think
Atop her stallion of black and white
She looks at the moon lending its light
A sense of freedom as she glides through the misty night air
Feeling the cool breeze flowing through her hair
Her stallion guides her safely home
But in her heart, through the pasture, she will always roam

Here Take My Gun

Here, take my gun
Do you like it here on the road?

On second thought, I will take that back
I might need it in the next town

I like your blue scarf
Do you love biting down on it?

No, the blood is from a poem
It has nothing to do with this world

You can’t stay with me
That would rob me from my destiny

The dessert is the teller
It will clean our teeth and fade our hair

I was watching you
Through my compass and decided you were East

I knew at that moment
The well had gone dry forever today

Sometimes I see the world
Like it was crystal clear with no illusions

I’m sorry I disturbed you
Have a nice day and hope that you never meet me

For I saw the portrait of your soul
I found how they ripped your essence and on it urinated

Spill you father’s vodka down your throat
It might medicate your tortured and blackened heart

Your nothing but a painted clown
Hoping to deceive and finally win an easy life

Here, take my gun
I love it on this road

As Orion the Great Hunter aims an arrow at his eye.

A battle splayed among the stars
To the world's farthest fars.

A big bear helps a little one cross the Milky Way.
Taurus fights a Red Dwarf, what more can I say?

Cancer keeps on waiting for the ocean's tide
As Aries is running for a place to hide...

From Draco's mighty fire seen from here on earth.
It shows the other stars who has ruled from birth.

And Leo the Mighty Lion pounces in the sky
As Orion the Great Hunter lets his arrow fly.

I think of hurdles cleared and dreams rushed

I don't know, but it's better than staying here to rot

The Bard

He came upon the midnight gloom, Through woods where mighty redwoods loom. A bard with lyre upon his back, And want of coin within his sack. There in the streets all gathered ‘round, To hear him play his haunting sound. He sang of love and tragic things. He sang of knights and mighty kings. He told his tale in rhyming verse, As all who gathered were immersed. Once he had been a valiant knight, Clad in armor that shone so bright. He served a king both fair and just, He earned his favor and his trust. Then came the day love pierced his heart, And all he’d known was torn apart. For she belonged to another, A man he loved like a brother. But she returned his lustful gaze, Her passion set his heart ablaze. And when the king came on the scene, He found his first knight with his queen. Soon everything came crashing down. A kingdom crumbled to the ground. Now what had been has passed away, Save the memory of that day. It’s kept alive in song and verse, And serves to fill his empty purse. A tale of woe, forgotten not, Of Guinevere and Lancelot.

He likes sex and she likes fame.
Devil's voice is over them
Shouting hard: "I love the MAN"
Moonlight comes switching the ends
He's a woman, she's a man.
God all mighty goes to sleep
Devil comes and eats the chick
Man is sad, he wants revenge,
Moonlight comes switching the ends
He's a wolf, devil's a man,
Moonlight hides, they fight till end
The wolf ate the man at noon
And roared for hours at the moon!

The Gunman

I sit here poised and ready, slip the thong off of my gun;
I saw him when he walked in, No good son of a gun;

Half the men here recognize him, when he strode through the door;
The room is taught with anger; we’re fixing to mop the floor;

He ordered up a tall one and threw a glance around the room;
I remember my good buddy, he sent on up the flume;

Tombstone was where it happened, that drifter came to town;
Johnny was loud mouthing, when the drifter shot him down;

Now Johnny was a hard case, but he had him lots of friends;
And most of us in this here bar were there when he met his end;

I toss a glance off to my left and drop my hand down to my colt;
He was staring down my barrel when the drifter tried to bolt;

I hit the ground a running and I pulled that hammer back;
Today ended in bloody revenge, that was the end of Zack…

When I Was A King

Woken was the king to a reality when he was once great.
He rises to his feet to rise to the occasion, but only to find out he’s years too late.

You see, all good things must come to an end.
There are more things important than the money you spend.

Time is on the side to those who side with it.
Don’t blink because beauty you just might miss it.

The beast is the truth, and the lie you told yourself.
With love there is no need for wealth as I always say myself.

The throne slips through your fingers like sand.
No longer do you have a queen to hold your hand.

They say it’s better to have loved & lost than to have never loved at all.
I disagree because I see her face on every girl as she is my downfall.

However, you cannot force a king to rule.
He might be cut out to jester or be a petty fool.

The queen may never have been a queen to start.
She might take your riches & rob your heart.

I was once a king…
But I’m nothing more than a boy lost in love with no hand for my ring.

I guess love had my imagination in an odd place.
Either that or I should have seen the signs when you wanted “space.”

My mother always said my first love would be a fling…
But 3 years later I still feel like she was my queen & I was her king…

Tough greet rough

Feed and crave

Nocturnal feast on the beach

3rd march 2012, by: Sashi Prabhu (zeauoxian)

Lying between two coconuts trees,
On a swinging ham mock feeling sultry breeze.

Waves erupt repeatedly on the hibernating sandy shores,
The moonlight now festoons the sand and sea with milky Lumina galore.

The coconut trees foliage houses my shack beneath,
Is grimly laden with dew drops , the wetness it drips within.

My pals with whiskey, rum and beer are laden within,
Singing songs of love, sorrow, happiness, friendship and topic akin.

The stone electric pole sheds fluorescent light,
Making the ambience great and the vista very bright.

Into the night, eat smoke and drink,
Our confined and harnessed sorrows we will drive out from our body’s brink.

No Finish Line

the slow snail the fast fly now taunts,
his flight speed he boastfully flaunts,

so he zips and zaps low and high,
in a spider's web doomed to die.

to each his time, to each his pace,
there really is no rigid race,

you sprint your way and I crawl mine,
there really is no finish line !

Into Forever

Do you ever wonder what it would be like?
To take flight into the night?
Where there exists no light,
No gravity,
and only stars in sight.
Where the stresses of life aren't strapped on so tight.
Where people's insights aren't so uptight,
and aren't focused on if your "black" or "white."
Where the strongest man has no might,
and where the laws of justice have no right.

Lost and No Longer

Lost and No Longer

It was this day when I did draw
A picture looking like euphoria
Which is not clear in my mind;
Googled to see how it was defined.

It had something to do with a state
Of mind where you had to wait
And read a story someone had wrote
About big fish and a small boat.

Many memories I do have of me
On a boat proceeding out to sea
To catch fish being hard to believe;
I told the truth and did not deceive.

Behind boat in earnest fish drug behind
Which to do was really not designed;
A big wave around boat went swish;
I lost and no longer could find my fish.

My Little Princess

Gotta go down to Heaven's Jublee store
To buy a speical gift for the one I adore

Doesn't matter if it's big or small
She won't care at all

Just as long it comes from me
I know she'll be totaly happy

Jenny is her name
So I have to think of something insane

Maybe a doll
Or some kind of ball

I know it's gotta be pink
Or she'll think it will stink

She loves the moon and stars
And how they twinkle from the galaxe so far

So maybe something glittery
For someone else to come see

Awe there you are
Hiding under barbies car

Aw shucks only one left
Someone could call this a theft

A bargin deal on this star shaped pillow
To rest her little head under our wheeping willow

Now to give it a name
Not to name it would be such a shame

So I'll call it my little princess of the stars
Because it fits her boldness by far

Let Our Souls Survive

Let Our Souls Survive

Me, many people tried to impress
When they produced the Polar Express
Planned railroad train destined to go
To North Pole both you and I know.

Over and over would watch whole show
With animated characters going to and fro
Place in heart movie made and found
Right down to last song and sound.

You can see children in each car
North Pole is way off and very far
And ice and snow still stay all around
There is only silence without any sound.

Pretty soon wind has started to howl
And from tree branch can hear an owl
Hooting a sound and remaining alive
So glad God will let our souls survive.

A Spaceship And A Horse

Way out in space in what's called the dark hole.
There's a place that many know of and many have been told.

It's a place where the final space ship is being built.
And men are sending materials each day the way they live.

If you know the Builder and have accepted His Son.
Then your part of the spaceship will someday be done.

But friend if you don't know Him, then get in the groove.
And start sending material so that spaceship soon can move.

The space ship won't consist of metals, bolts, and screws.
But the prayers of the faithful, and for those who did choose.

It will fly through space in the twinkling of an eye,
And many of you reading this may never have to die.

The Pilot of the space ship that I'm writing about.
Is none other than the Christ Child from Christmas, there's no doubt.

But He won't be a baby this time when He comes.
But will be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and some folks will run.

He'll give up this spaceship for a white horse to ride.
And the Bible says everyone will see Him and no one can hide.

Boulder to Aspen

I left Friday midmorning for a weekend getaway
A four-hour jaunt to Aspen; just wanted to play
No purpose for the trip; just for the experience
New to Colorado, I desired to feel its sense.

If you would care to come along with me,
Continue reading and hear my song of glee.
As I turned onto the road to Idaho Springs
My heart leaped and I began to gently sing.

What is it about a mountain stream
That takes away thought and brings back the dream?
What is it about the pine trees growing so tall
Straight up from sheer rocks with no soil at all?

What is it about driving higher and higher into the sky
Being able to look the mountain top right in the eye?
What is it about the sudden appearance of a mountain lake
That takes my breath away and causes me to shake?

What is it about the snow-covered peak standing guard
Over the bosom of its canyon now filled with cars?
What is it about blue ice on the high mountain creek
That takes away all the words that I wish to speak?

What is it about seeing the Arkansas River in high Colorado?
Perhaps realizing the connectivity of water’s everlasting flow.
What is it about seeing a train moving through the mountain forest
That reminds me of all the pioneers and natives who came before us?

What is it about seeing a giant dove in a cloud formation
When I am only twenty-two miles from my destination?
Feeling the oneness of earth, man, and sky as I drive,
Just what is it that now makes me heave a big sigh?

It is the road sign that says, “Indy Pass closed for the winter”
Can you hear the screeching howl of my whine and my whimper?
Taking a deep breath, I turn slowly around; there’s no other choice.
Retracing 100 miles now with a noticeably different voice.

The road now becomes the coiling serpent of asphalt
For I have lost my serenity and centered gestalt.
The roadside streams are just more water that flows.
Why was the road closed, there isn’t even any snow?

Finally my humor returns as I enter the Glenwood Canyon.
How could I not be happy viewing this majestic companion?
Wearily, now I limp into Aspen at just after dusk.
Navigating the rotary is an exercise in trust.

All worth it, I must say as I drive into the town
White lights twinkling their greetings to me all around.
Found my hotel easily. The room is grand; I shall not moan
Over a little misadventure I can share with those back home.

The wind at our cheek, the briny sea’s dip Rocks our frail bark, and threatens our ship. The heave of the wave, our watery bower, Lulls us at night with its sleepy power. Day after day sweep we the earth, ‘Till safe we sail to our launching berth. The lightning above, the worrisome gale, None hinder us as onward we sail. Straight and true, our craft does soar Paddle we fast, spreading our oar. Will ye my lad come sail with me? None hath lived so wondrously free! All fears behind, great joy to espy, Cruise we to glory, both you and I!

Onward I march, bravely I ride
Into the unknown, I never break my stride

Axes and spears, I use to defend
Quickly I bruise, but cuts easily mend

The sea of steel armor shines in the light
I show no mercy and race to beat the night

An epic fight is fierce, long and proud
The sound of metal forever echoes out loud

The kingdom is now safe from unwanted attack
I serve my King nobly and expect nothing back

A Knight is what I am, 'til death I will serve
My cries will ring proud, never will I lose my nerve

He called me, on the phone,
Asked if I was gonna' be home.
A smile just appeared,
Soon he'll arrive, here.
Now a full blown grin ...
He just walked in!
I said, "ALRIGHT!" ...
"We're gonna' have a GREAT night!"

The whole night lay before us
I didn’t want to cause a fuss
Dinner and a movie
Would be kinda groovy
Dancing would be nice
We’ve done that once or twice
I know what he’d been missin’
So I’m taking him fishin’

Packed up the ice chest
With stuff he loves best
Thick slices of ham
Sweet strawberry jam
Crispy pickles in a jar
Cookies cut into a star
Ice cold Bud Lite
Gonna be a long night

Got a new rod and reel
Got a really good deal
It’s a Diawa brand
Fits just right in my hand
We’ll stop by his place
To get his tackle case
His rod and bass boat
Hope it will still float

Now we're at the lake
Gonna fish ‘til real late
Then throw that sleeping bag down
Right over there on the ground
Snuggle up and build a fire
Stoke it with love’s desire
He know’s what I’m missin’
Making love after fishin’

New Years Resolution Ride

Spin the bullet, click the revolver shut
Thumbing hammer, pulling trigger for the cut

A shadow snap, leaves me another day
Pistol safely locked in case, on my way

Leather, denim, hair tied back, and black boot heel
Hit the bong, straddle the chrome, red, and steel

Music in my head, time to hit the road
Mean furious speed, slow mental download

White micro-dotted visions to unroll
Draining my strength sucking, self doubting soul

Another New Years resolution ride
One more year, until pistol will decide

Daisy Mae

My name is daisy
And I like to bask in sun and be just a little lazy

Yellow is my domain
Don't it want to drive you just a little insane

I am a world traveler
Dressed in many coated furs

I love to lounge by valleys and creeks
Even mountain tops at their highest peaks

Don't mind my matted hair
May be parted but its still has golden flare

Been stepped on one to many times
But I bounce back every time

Members of family had heads chopped off
By farmers who want to lower their crops

I love to play splish splash with the rain
Makes my fragrance drive one insane

I can even tell if you like butter
By holding me under chin like there's no other

So stop by and just pluck me up
For I just want to be somebody's butter cup

Stand To Understand

All across the land
Many will not understand

Crawling like worms
Failing or discern

The reasons why the suffer
Know that you all are tougher

Dwelling in you He resides
Just asking you to abide

No longer shall the One tolerate
The time has come to obliterate

Spitting in this retort
You all have his support

Keep your reframe firm
Ignore all material concern

Just see things from his point of view
Then in you His Spirit will renew

Rhyme after rhyme quest face to face;
Chime spinning chime to space wide space.

Sign after sign swirls choice to choice;
Line follows line as poise greets poise.

Dawn after dawn as light knows light;
Morn grounding morn to sight new sight.

Start alters start to trace a trace;
Heart touching heart as grace meets grace.

End prolongs end as rhyme twirls rhyme;
Trend echoes trend from time to time.

Hint upon hint comes more and more;
Mist blankets mist from shore to shore.

Play follows play as ploy frames ploy;
Stay after stay streams joy for joy.

Confused Understanding

Hmm this thing is very confusing
But at the same time it is amusing

This thing here I can't comprehend
Will this nerve racking thing ever end?!!

Oh! Now I understand it all
It is nothing but a cold, brick wall

I don't understand why I thought it was hard
It's just as dumb as a bucket of lard!

Hey what's this thing in front of me?
Is it a bird, a plane, a bee?

My dog went out one day
You’ve often heard me say
Just me and him…buddies….us
Till he started to chase a bus
Leapt in the door and was shut in there
God knows how he paid his fare
I ran after him in chase
But it was an uneven race
Watching me from the rear window
Barking to urge me to follow
I almost caught up with the transit
Got my foot up near the exit
When a flying plastic bag
Entangled my head, made me gag
I collapsed with a choking cough
While the unheeding bus sped off
Last I saw of dog and bus
Was all the passengers making a fuss
He was indeed a cute little guy
So I could understand why.
Those dogs are indeed a problem
And plastic bags - who can control them?
Maybe right now he’s strolling with another
My prayer is that he will not smother.

My Flying Mustang

Along time ago just the other day
I saw a magic horse who flew my way
Well all in all jackpot in hand
It flew me off to a distant land
A place where the Land meets the Sea
We landed there this horse and me
Somethings in life should not go to waste
Such was the beauty of this special place
Secluded and surrounded by sheer rock walls
With an abundance of beautiful waterfalls
Creating rainbows that filled the skies
Oh, This place was beautiful to the eyes
As I looked all around at the giant ferns
Into my heart this place did burn
While listening to the beat of the sea
We had a picnic this horse and me
Then down the beach we took us a walk
And without a word we had us a talk
Life is full of many wonderful things
Like my flying Mustang with golden wings

An untouchable imagination, beyond the physical and off the grid?

Where is it that they go, in man made machinery to the sky?
A place unseen but seen, and gravity is what they defy?

Tag Sharon Weimer "You are IT"

Sometimes in life it is so clear to see
My friend is as special as she can be

Things happen and we don’t know why
But for my special friend I would die

I started the (YF4L) club just for her
Sometimes I stutter but I never slur

My wife knows that Sharon is special as can be
They’re the only two who calm the beast in me

Be the first admit, I don’t always think right
I’m a true man of God with a Soldier’s plight

The “Man of God” part is all brand new
Sharon I have penned this poem for you

But it’s not just a poem, Sharon it is a tag
Pull yourself a name from the Poetry bag

And then tell that Poet how special they are
From the bag of Poets pull yourself out a star

This is a game that all of us poets used to play
Hopefully we can relight that flame today

Anyone but me Sharon you can write about
Just answer the “Tag” and let your love out

You know I've been here long enough to say.
"Back in the day" we used to play tag, i miss
it a lot - Rules are very simple, I write a poem
for Sharon and tag it. Sharon now can write a
poem to any other poet but me and tag it. Then
they do the same. Lets rock and roll, heart and
soul and see where it may lead. Tag Shar, your it.
Now this is a wide open game, anyone can pick
anyone they wish at any time. The object is to
keep the ball rolling. This used to be a very special
part of our site and I do hope we can relight that
Flame, God Bless you all, MJ

Okay, make sure we have our shield

Get your men and all their sons,
Get all of their big black guns

Then it will be all peaches and cream,
Cuz we defeated the other team

We've had lots of fun although,

She'd think I'd dropped an atom bomb,
Guess who it is,it's my mom.

At Latest Oscar Show

At Latest Oscar Show

Sure glad that you're such a lucky lad
Knowing all aspects of you great iPad
Sending out emails readily and quickly
And other systems seem to be so sickly.

Can more easier move around the room
And in future they found one in a tomb
What was best and stranger then the rest
Oscar had been strapped to her big breast.

While in a strange and weird book I read
We can actually communicate with the dead;
We then wanted to hear her twist and shout
But both breasts and batteries were burned out.

Relating to dead is difficult have often heard
This thought and idea is completely absurd
Can you believe body was once a bobbysoxer
Who one day had won an outrageous Oscar.

Each time when we open up the cruddy crypt,
From body, all of her clothes had been striptd
And the only thing left which would be found
Was an uncanny, corroded Oscar on the ground.

At times, body appeared to be meek and mild,
And she should have willed Oscar to her child;
Each year a big party she started to throw
So she could mock every moronic Oscar Show.

A bright tornado spins inside her
only living God can guide her
In the sparkle of the spiral
breathes a force that's wild and viral,
filling others with a passion,
only pure romance may fashion.

Tear the mantle ,stop the twisting
break the power she's enlisting,
spattered colors fly around her,
staining every soul who found her.

Blue and purple in your eyes
adding life to her disguise,
whirling spectrum there before you
living only to adore you.

Everywhere she touches down
living lovers start to drown
in her thirst for many colors
don't you blend in like the others,

she'll stir you up and suck you in
to paint her world in love again.

The Good Ol-Days

While reflecting on the good ol-days
Each so special in their own ways
Places I’ve been, the people I’ve loved
Hands a lot warmer once its been gloved
The message that I truly hope to relate
Good ol-days weren’t all that great
Like all other days they had highs and lows
In the bag of days that’s just how it goes
As we ponder days lets make it understood
If not for the bad would the good be good
These days the days fly by so fast
How can we expect their memory to last?
So, lets forget yesterday with all its sorrow
For the best of all good ol-days is tomorrow

Some kind of creation,
Dooming us to damnation.
Try with all our might,
To win the fight,
With these hellish beasts,
Choosing us as their feasts.
One by one we go,
As the drag us below.
"Come on Sam"
Then 'Bam'!
They try to break in
And hit me in the chin.
Chromosome twenty four
Will make me hardcore.
I try to resist,
At this she insists.
I know you,
You'll be one of the few.

Dream Train Opus part 1

ve Box Car Blue
He jumped on board the dream train
chugging outward through the rain
heve shook himself and looked around
at once amazed at what he found

The air was azure, blue and green
heavy laden,ocean scene
Mermaids swam around his head
brilliant corals,orange and red

    Seaweed tangled in his hair
He forgot how he was there
Atlantis offered him a hand
he swam down to a magic land

    Canyons rose and ledges fell
He felt the ocean's mighty swell
He rode a seahorse thru a cave
to reach the key a merman gave

He came upon a golden door
down there on the ocean's floor
Seven sisters stood within
swirling hair and fine of fin

"Choose between us now " they said
only one of us is dead
If you pick a living wife
you'll have treasure and your life

If you choose a love gone cold
you will reap a heart of gold
His mind was full of fear and doubt
His breath in bubbles boiled about

He swam toward the open door
He dove and rolled and hit the floor
and now the rocking of the train
he saw the station,home again

I walk too fast on these busy sidewalks under the towering, illuminated skyscrapers,
any tourist or visitor notices the pace of my footsteps...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

I talk with a northern accent so clear and distinguishable; and instantly anyone
who's visiting this wonderful city, recognizes it...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

I wear the latest designer's clothes that define the image and ego of my masculinity;
it's so chic to sport the new trends and be admired...that's so distinctively Newyorkese..

I'm an avid fan of the Yankees, and at City Fields I watch my heroes passionately play;
I jump from my seat, when a player hits a home-run...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

I find my spot on the Great lawns in Central Park, to hear a summer concert or opera;
with eyes focused on the stage, enjoying the moment ...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

I ride over the Brooklyn bridge, when the water below glimmers, and the lights above shine;
a magnificent view, I'm privileged and glad to live here...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

From the high sea, I can see the Statue of Liberty...the Green Lady holding the heavy torch;
at Ellis Island, she welcomes everyone and smiles, and that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

Going to a familiar cafe along Fifth Avenue, to chat with old friends and drink cappuccino;
tourists kindly ask me to take their photo, I smile...that's so distinctively Newyorkese.

Ambergris and Abalone

 is what it was
that washed up on the dunes ,
 in the hands of children
'neath the moon.
fallen from the sky ,
and Sseaweed for our heads
we fell asleep along the reef
upon our sandy Bbeds .

the Ddreams
that came
were Neptunes' own,
He held a triton on his throne,
he bade us ride a steed below
a spritely Sseahorse all aglow

we wondered why he even cared
to show us , but we gawked and stared
at Ttreasures measureless by man
he said he had a clever plan,

if we should want to breathe the air
we'd have to bring a Ttreasure there
or stay forever down below,
we begged him just to let us go,

he said just one could rise above
and prove an everlasting Llove
by casting Ggold into the sea
and then the other would go Ffree

I went ashore
and straight to bed,
I still hear voices in my head
they say .......
"'where have you gone my dear?"
when I hold Sseashells to my ear.

Enveloped in a shroud of sapphire
Lay a listless child by a fire
Who sought an adventure and lost his way
Who had mourned the passing of the day
Gone had fled the light
His home now far from sight
For hours did he moan
For he was now all alone
But then glowed the embers of the sky
The child looked up and tears did dry
His fears and sorrows gave way to wonder
No longer cursed he at his careless blunder
The stars did then smile in glee
As then the boy did see
No further did he have to roam
For they paved the pathway to his home

The Heist

She keeps screaming, "Carpe diem!"
all while swinging her axiom.
Crowds of merchants duck in alarm,
slapping the ground to evade harm.

Sweaty cries drift in stagnant air,
while brutal force taunts those who dare
to ignite a defiant eye.
Zealous disdain molds our reply.

We converge in swift succession,
blast the vault to gain possession
of that precious cargo inside:
proof our purpose can’t be denied.

Moments tick down as we retreat,
pumping hard as we hit the street.
Clutching the future in our hand,
we share a smirk as we disband.

Squads tear past our steely escape
as we melt into the landscape.
Calmly, we hide in our disguise,
while my adored safeguards our prize.

Glide over scorched hill and valley;
fortune impels our finale
as raised hands hail our rendezvous,
cheering with comrades of virtue.

Tears of relief stream with fervor,
pride of my role as preserver.
Seeds of revolt are welcomed back
to guard each other from attack.

I toweled off my tear soaked face
and stitched my heart back into place,
I tallied up my circumstance
and then I took a ship to France

  I boarded early after noon,
I think it was a night in June
I went below because of rain,
and when I came back up again,
I think I must have had a spell,
the sky was dark,I couldn't tell,
what was what ,nor, who was who,
I didn't know just what to do,
A swarthy pirate with a sword,
proffered whiskey in a gourd,
He slapped my back and sang a song,
about a sailor who went wrong,

A drunk guy with his belly shaved,
by rusty razors,met his grave,
with Davy Jones,I think he said,
anyway...the bloke is dead.

I tried to ask a question here,
like "Where is this?"
but then I fear,
a cannon cracked the sultry night,
a sound that filled my soul with fright.

Then Captain Jack came swinging down,
{a parrot beat him to the ground}
He put a pistol in my hand
and said....
"Look sharp,it's war, my man!!"
A shanghai plot I realized,
had taken my life by surprise.

Transformed in Flight

She flew in through the fissure
in the roof above my head,

I saw her block the moonlight
and I felt a touch of dread,

but she had wings of sapphire,
and a vision for my eyes,

and when she whispered secrets
I began to realize,

That i was shrinking quickly,
into something such as she,

I felt my skin grow prickly,
and a sparkle covered me,

we rose up through the ceiling,
then outside in the rain,

my mind was wildly reeling,
from the lack of wracking pain,

For I have been a cripple
since the day that I arrived,

and now I feel life ripple,
with a reason to survive.

Could This Be Eden

Across the great river so deep and wide,
With treacherous cliffs on either side.

The journey is perilous with many dangers along the way,
Fierce and deadly animals and snakes that lay in wait for unsuspecting prey.

Should you make it through all this you will find the hidden key,
An ancient tribe of people that time had forgotten and that live in a tree.

Some how unknown they speak our language quite well,
And I know what you’re thinking and no they do not have a tail.

They are short in stature and are covered with an abundance of hair,
They are also quite generous with their possessions and are eager to share.

When you look in their faces’ it’s like they wear a permanent smile,
And their eyes actually twinkle as they invite you to stay for awhile.

Not one modern thing do these friendly little people own,
Just gentleness and kindness, and presented the way it is supposed to be shown.

Well I just had to tell of this place but I cannot tell where,
For I would hate to see corruption and greed enter into their lives out there.

Blue Indigo

  Blue Indigo,the mood.
your eyes,the night
a dream renewed

  Dark stranger from
another land
proceeding on,
your caravan
has brought you
once again to me

  Blue Indigo
still wild and free

 Deep purple night
a skein of stars
reflect the love that
could be ours

but I know you must
always go,
I love you still
Blue Indigo

 Collect the fireflys
in your hands
and tell me tales
of distant lands

then set them free
to rise above
to show the world
the light of love

 The jungle reaches
for my wrist
a vine with silver
flowers kissed
sweet nectar
on my lips
you speak of gold
and sailing ships

 The sleep of angels
sweet and calm
falls upon me
like a balm

 The sea sweeps out
and in again
the tides relinquish all
and then
bring it back to let it flow
as you must do...
                              Blue Indigo

left on the shore
something that Neptune
can't use anymore

  There you were standing
alone on the sand
fragments of starfish
holding your hand

  You turned with the wind
and the sea in your smile
the laughter of gulls
flew around you beguiled

 your hair swirled around me
and tangled in mine
you said to yourself
what a wonderful find

  so we both collected
each other today
washed up on the wave
of emotion at play.

Hungry Hollow

Down in Hungry Hollow
there's a winding road to follow,
filled with trails of stings and nettles
lit by black eyed susan petals
Down this road you'll kick the dust
and breathe the roots of rotten rust
Shine the pebbles with your shoes
and learn to sing the "Hollow Blues"
Whistle through your two front teeth
the clouds, the sky, within your reach
Apples fall and butterflies drink
the nectar from their skin warm pink
They follow you down to say hello
and flutter before you as you go
The road narrows down into Swallow Gorge
where the fish jump your line as you reach the shore
and the water turns to green to hide it's tangled cars
sunk to occupy new life underneath the shooting stars
Proud red branches from Old Man Tree beckon out to you
to swing on their ropes in a high diving show which ends in a belly flop brew
All the world claps in the flapping of arms turning frozen cobalt blue
as you shout to the sky and barrel through a summersault or two
You tent in Hungry Hollow, you press to feel your pulse
as the air untainted by outward appearances has it's famed results
You leave with the clothes on your back
and the soles of your feet stained tar black
You swallow your tears, your heart sunken hollow
You've gorged nature dry, but you'll be hungry tomorrow...

Moment of Release

This kite electric
tangled in the power lines
tattered silk like paper skins
of dyed and colored onion rinds
With salty satin stains
flapping in the ocean air
it once held tight a child's hand
tingling knuckles white and bare
Updraft caught and carried
jangling raw up on the wires
electric now ungrounded
white heat lightning fuel tipped fires
Now it begs release
from the metal to the sky
With my own eyes as witness
sparks reach out to catch it fly.

A curio shoppe on the edge of Khartoum
on the edge of the world
on the cusp of our doom
  smouldering incense
bade us come in
a cornucopia
whispered my friend
an aura of daydreams
dappled the air
a cyclone of chaos
strewn everywhere
antiquated cast a ways
cadence from a bygone day
a cossack in a dark burnoose
offered potions
swirled in juice
pomegranate grated fine
adrift in elderberry wine
the phantom laughed
a banshee sound
a scarab scuttled
'cross the ground
  a bouyant vapor floated past
ambergris,a glowing glass
carousel of fantasy
castanets inside of me
I don't know how you found the door
wicker splintered
something more
then the wharf,
cerulean sea,
the coral moon
and we were free
in the boat I breathed a sigh
until I caught the
scarabs eye.

Dancers on the Mezzanine

Splash fast colors across the sun
red horizon,day is done
swirl a drip of azure blue,
with indigo for me and you

drip down on my ice cream cone
berry tasty, windy blown
cotton candy wrapped around
cardboard rolled up
by a clown

  Dancing ponies in the dark
tiny bells that catch a spark
from the midnight candles lit
by a child who wouldn't quit

  dancing on the mezzanine
with his older teenage queen
wearing beaded pantaloons
that she wore on afternoons

  in museums cold and still
when she had some time to kill
'ere she traversed all alone
down that darksome way back home

  so regretful by the sea,
staring out but could not free
any fragment of her soul
ageless,timeless, growing old

  Falling open like a womb
giving birth to wrath and gloom
turning back to condescend
to think about what might have been

  underneath the midnight sun
red hot rhythms on her tongue
she speaks a string of colored lights
to light her way back home tonight.

on dancing ponies in the dark
tiny bells that catch a spark
from the midnight candles lit
by a child who wouldn't quit.

 Great American adventure
over the plains alone
loved ones wait and wonder
where we might have gone
  charting unknown waters
to brave the starless nights
we brought our sons
and daughters
we kept our dreams in sight
all in this together
we'll get there and we'll thrive
no matter what the weather
Americans alive!
so build the campfire high
and sing a settler's song
we'll keep the wilderness at bay
till you can come along.

Dreams of Love[after Liebestraum]

Magenta thatched magic
Lantern ravine
sugar plum shadows
haunting the stream
  perplexing the galaxy
a siege of illusions
a serpentine rhapsody
leads to conclusions
  Follow the lodestar
Hesperus rising
delirious love
is always surprising
weave me a diadem
wild orchids weeping
Norwegian whiskey
and Grieg
while I'm sleeping
   Deep in our bower
a bold mandolin
bids us forget
all we are or have been
we rise on the vapors
melodic surrender
to the rhythm of love
