Fourth of July, Independence Day for the United States, and
On the news political speeches praising the nations heritage, then
Reading of the declaration in deep proud voices and joyful singing.
The country will celebrate with parades and fireworks and ceremonies,
Hanging the flag outside their homes and having picnics with streamers.
On army bases there will be a salute of one gun shot for each state, and
From radios and TV the most popular song will be The Star Spangled Banner.
Jumping children with balloons red, white, blue floating, and
Under tents the barbecues will be cooking those big ball park dogs.
Love of the nation will be on every lip and in every single heart, then
Years of patriotic events will be re-enacted outside in a show of national pride.

I In the rich brown earth, a deeper pain conceals
N Not just the myth, of war on foreign fields
D Death's toll and the greater cost reveals
E Each life, each loss, that paves our freedom trail
P Pride reminds us of the sacrifice
E Each mother's tears should not be theirs alone
N Nations rich in history's reward
D Demand that freedom is the final word !
E Every heart must keep the names alive
N Never let the guard down or the pride
C Choose to honor all who fought and died
E Exercising freedom is a gift, and Godly right !

Green lush vegetation
of breath-taking beauty
enveloping fertile landscape
in scenic tapestry, while
Radiant sunshine's golden splendor
delightfully kissed sun-bathers
lounging on exotic beaches
or taking invigorating dips in
Exquisite waterfalls crystal clear streams
splashing down in majestic grandeur
from incredible heights, dropping
jaws in awe, as eyes behold
Nature's abundant blessings lavished
upon this tiny child swaddled
in spice-scented napkins
Aspiring, striving, amidst social
and economic hardships
to forge, to reach, and fulfill their
Destiny, guided by faith
perseverance and fierce ancestral courage
As...one People... one Nation.

Inclusive and internalizing for ages
New-tech-nation of Nirvana-seeking sages
Democratic but mired in dissent that rages.
Integrity its new ‘mantra’; equality
And liberty , watchwords , along with amity.
Inheriting a great heritage from a hoary past
Grabbing modernity’s gifts, it is growing fast.

Compatriots , where are you compatriots ?
On our a nation let’s pause a bit:
Money , money , money , money...
Peace dying, children crying
All moving as if all is well
Take a look at what nation has become :
Riots in south , terrorists in north ;
In the land of our births
Only God can say who is next
Thousand today, thousand tomorrow
Shame , what a shame !!!
Honestly, I do not know how to exist most days.
I survive each day, with memories of,
Damages done in battle.
Destruction, chaos, horror;
Everywhere I turn I see violence and death.
Nightmares haunt me every night.
Wounded warrior, you cannot see my scars.
Over there is where my mind returns to;
Useless is how I feel sometimes when the tears flow.
No, you may never understand my battle,
Demons surround me always, invading every safe place.
Survivor; I served for freedom’s sake.

Freedom for Americans did not come silently.
It came like firecracker pops, with guns and canon blast!
Rebel shouts would shake the world, and a glorious past
Echoes still in our nation's collective memory.
Celebration of our story comes the fourth of July.
Remember that our many rights did not come quietly.
At the height of celebration, think beyond the revelry,
Cacophony that rules the night, and lights that blaze the sky!
Knowledge must be passed on down, never to be lost.
Everything the patriots did, our children must learn why!
Revolt was loud. It sparked a fire led by a battle cry.
Sacrifice and brave souls' lives were our freedom's cost.

Freedom for America
Dr. James E. Martin
Founded by patriots brave and bold
Fighters for liberties to have and to hold.
Rightly acting on convictions strong
Righteousness extended to where it belongs.
Enduring hardships beyond belief
Endeavoring to provide from oppression relief.
Enlisting those who would with them unite
Ever determined to do what was right
Deliberately moving to principle preserve
Distracted not – men of great nerve.
Oppression to them must be defeated
Optimistic that these not be repeated.
Memory should stir us to be greater resolved
Motivation should be ours to be greater involved.
Isle of Man is my home - it is a Crown Dependency and is
Not owned by the United Kingdom.
Democracy – we claim to be the oldest continual Parliament in the world!
Every year on 5th July we celebrate Tynwald Day
Proclaiming our new laws in an open air sitting of our Parliament
Eleven O’clock is when the church ceremony begins then the
Norse tradition of promulgating the laws takes place on Tynwald Hill
Deemster’s participate in the ceremony, wearing scarlet robes and long wigs
Elizabeth our Queen last attended the ceremony in 2003
National anthem ‘O land of our Birth’ is sung with such pride
Cushag the national flower is worn on this special day
Evening ends with a spectacular firework display, which fills the skies
Contest: Celebrate Independence – Kim Merryman
Forget not those who sacrificed that we might enjoy this special day.
Our cherished freedoms we owe to them who in hallowed sepulchers lay.
Undulating o'er this blessed nation the Grand Old Flag does yet wave.
Resolute Founding Fathers and ordinary men so very true and brave,
Took extraordinary actions to liberate us from tyranny and oppression.
Hereafter, may each generation be free to celebrate without suppression.
Over all the nation this day folks will celebrate with picnic and parade;
Fireworks will thrill and boring speeches by politicians will be made.
Jubilation should ring from towns large and small from shore to shore,
Until the sound of liberty resonates about the globe with a resounding roar!
Let true patriotism reign not only on this day but all others that ensue!
Yeehaa! Yippee! Yahoo! Yea! Happy Fourth of July to every one of you!
Entry for Kim Merryman's "Celebrate Independence" Contest (28 June 2015)
Good steward elevated by the people’s mandate
On assurances of selfless and patriotic services
Verifiable through implementation of rendered promises
Even when a term’s arrival meets nationwide turmoil
Re-strategizing can lift a country to the front seat again
And then all challenges and burdens becoming lighter and beatable
No nonsense accepted to distraught the nation’s stability
Combining all structures and powers at disposal to
Eliminate any conspiracy posing a threat to the citizenry
Independence was freedom's key,
Nonetheless freedom was not free.
Demanding equal voice and rights,
Equality was won through fights.
People paid for it with their lives,
Ensuring liberty survives.
Neighbors committed to self-rule,
Denounced foreign reign as cruel.
Each tax was a knife to the throat,
No subject had the right to vote.
Courage, followed by bravery,
Expunged indentured slavery.

For my country, right or wrong.
Respect her flag and sing her song.
Earn my right to breathe free air.
Evoke God's blessing with earnest prayer.
Defend the weak against evil force.
Open a path to honorable recourse.
Made a pledge and this I swore:
Serve her well in peace and war.
Call on brothers to join our cause.
Assist each other without pause.
Love my country and give my all.
Lay down my life at freedom's call.

I have observed that America is a Democratic Republic with high values on the INDIVIDUAL
We are 50 States, some of whose economies rival other countries; yet we are one NATION.
Yes, we have fought each other in a bloody war; yet we are one and shall not be DIVIDED.
As a nation, we set our goals and aim for the heights, flying and soaring like the EAGLE.
We are not about “He, the President or He the Potentate”, but all about “We The PEOPLE".
Our nation is not perfect, but at its core, “We Believe That All Men Are Created EQUAL".
We are blessed and prosperous; and as a people, we pause to give thanks every NOVEMBER.
So often, similarities make great people; but the strength of America is its DIFFERENCES.
Some of our rights are granted through government; there are others that are God ENDOWED.
We have One President, 100 Senators, 435 Representatives, and Supreme Court Justices are NINE.
Our country is a Republic and not a Theocracy; but most of our founding fathers believed in a CREATOR.
It has been said that America is great because we are good; may our goodness long ENDURE.
