You Where Here Today

After a year of running I knew it would soon be over And then suddenly it was The light left your eyes and you where gone I sat alone for the first time in forty years Wondering What it was going to be like without you Then suddenly today four years latter I felt you smile at me I mean I know with all my mind and all my heart and all my soul That you where here today

I believe our loved ones are with us and even if we cannot see them they still are with us for all time. Nicely done on this poem. love phyl

Hi Michael, I like this feeling. I think this warm notion is good feeling when our loved ones are gone. I think what you are saying is,,, "we should live with the pleasure of knowing "that you where here today." and waiting for us on the tomorrow. Somehow I wish to accept like you have. But, knowing my sweet little grandson is somewhere smiling at us.. puts my mind on a little ease. Adding and keeping this poem as favorite. I'll never know when I need the ending uplifting image. Michael; loneliness is not easy. It is hard, but we learn to live with it. I once wrote a poem - Life Without You. It is not here maybe I'll poste it one day. I do believe that our loved ones do come to visit us and they also look out for us. Many blessings. Lucilla
