Written In the Sand

WRITTEN IN THE SAND The Big Five—Africa’s pride in the vast open wild Buffalo, Rhinoceros, Elephant, Leopard and Lion Their prey—scattered Impala, Kudu and Waterbuck On hardened dust… their footprints prevail and stand WRITTEN IN THE SAND The proposal day--- carefully planned- a beautiful beach Red Roses, a Picnic, Sunrise and Diamond ring The petals—scattered on the soft damp sea tabloid Lover’s plea….a stick his pen, “Marry me—take my hand” WRITTEN IN THE SAND Early one morning--- He entered the dusty temple to teach Scribes and Pharisees brought her in—an adulterous Large stones…scattered for all to throw and accuse Jesus bent down… wrote with His finger on condemning land What was His message…..? WRITTEN IN THE SAND

I know that passage from the Bible...All I remember is that was the incident when He said: 'Let he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone'...Correct? I LOVE your method of using three titles for three wonderful verses! Go directly to my favs, do not pass go...

Thanks Tim... you really know your Bible well. I think this is the scripture where He wrote in the sand-- never mentioned what was written. Perhaps same part of the Word that talks about the line in the sand --John 8:6. The second stanza was inspired by the way my son has just recently proposed to his fiancé.. the true romantic !! I must have done something right bringing him up :)

'He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone', right?...One of the greatest quotes from Jesus Christ our Saviour and Redeemer...He definitely drew the ultimate 'line in the sand' there didn't he?...LOVE the way you wrote this poem as three separate poems, each with the same title..Gotta say that in my humble opinion, this is your best effort (so far!) - Tim

The last reference is my favorite. I have always wondered what Christ wrote in the ground after the men approached him with the sinful woman. I imagine its something simple and beautiful.

Outstanding perspectives here. It's stunning how one piece of land can contain polar opposites of memories and its impact. Excellent job!
