Wind Music

Listen now, the autumn wind is playing
Betwixt the trees the branches swaying
Serenading summer as she packs her things
A joyful yet melancholy song she sings

Her instruments the bush, the grass the leaf
Each one a soloist though their passages brief
She sends the acorn dancing to the ground
And weaves a tapestry of golden sound

Soon she will contemplate the rain and snow
More intense round the corners she will blow
Sweeping the walk and banging the gate
With winter time she has confirmed a date

So much of nature's music can be found
With the changing beauty of wind blown sound
