Will You Use It Wisely, Or Will You Hide
As old age advances through every year
you begin to look to all the years’ past
Wondering how quickly those years got you here
and how many more years ahead you can last.
You begin to question if your very soul
will be used again, as if to reincarnate
or if, as you prayed, to heaven be your goal
The answers not known, you will have to wait.
The only option is in the here and now
In the way you live your life each day
to give love and care, and matter somehow
With an open hand, to help in some way.
In order to show your fellow man, you care
meditate each night before you go to sleep
Each morning give thanks with a heartfelt prayer
and vow that promises you made you can keep.
The day lies ahead, it is only for you
to live it fully, only you can decide
To make it fruitful in what you say and do
Will you use it wisely, or will you hide?
