When Disaster Strikes--G and G

As one from afar, I have watched with compassion Disaster once more, has come without warning I gasp, then I cry, yet I'm awed with impressions How often the spirit, in the most dire conditions will bring out the best of human reaction. How hands helping hands, show courage ensued How hearts heal the bruised, and will calm the confused Banding together…while helping each another, is a banner of courage, and will hold you together .. Grace under fire…. with honor we brand you! As you raise to the task, with hands of the valiant Respect you have earned, and the honor you wear The sun will keep rising….and crown you my heroes __________________________________________________ For Contest: Guts and Gain Sponsored by Olive Eloisa Guillermo and James Fraser 7/18/15

Carrie truer words were never spoken. Slammed by Hurricane Katrina we neighbors bonded in tragedy. I cooked for 20 people daily on my boat as my house was in shambles. We sat ate and if they didn't laugh and cheer up I made it known, You cannot come back...dreary we do not need. WOW your poem is spot on...thanks for the memories and glad you are safe from the storms you have recently had......

Time and time again, I have watched the resilient nature of people, and how in a world when there seems to only be news of an evil presence, there is more hope, courage and kindness . I have to believe that good will always outweigh evil :) I am so glad to know you are a survivor, Judy, and courageous as well. Proof you know first hand !
