What If

If a barber passes a bald guy on the street There's a look of distain on his face Sees him walking totally upright on two feet But clearly not of the human race If a doctor passes an athlete on a track There is instant contempt in his eyes This dude is putting his practice in jeopardy What if we were all as fit as this guy A shoe salesman meets a guy in the park Wearing battered beat up old runners The salesman has instant dislike for this loser This down and out no good bummer If a broker watches a guy blowing his dough On a big pile of electronic stuff Which in six months time will be out of date The money guy cringes and huffs If a starlet is making an extremely big splash Stars who've been around for years Will try to discredit this shining new star Hoping to send her packing in tears © Jack Ellison 2013

What if my Dragon were cute and cuddly and didn't push me off my chair, while trying to sit on my lap... What if he didn't chase me around the house with barbecue sauce, mayhap... What would you think of that? What if my roses didn't get migraines as he pooped a load on them... Naw.. Life changes all the time... In time they'll all get their due... But I'm having too much fun... so don't let them get to you.

You speak the truth within your lines here my friend! It is true unfortunately that we act this way to certain people within the community depending on our occupation! It can go further I'm sure speaking of many other different jobs that are out there, like a fireman watching someone creating a bonfire, and wondering what is this man's true desire! You can go on and on with this, but I'm impressed with what you have done here Jack! You have done a masterful poem! Quite the ingenious piece!!
