We Ran, We Lived
We ran, we lived
We ran through the fields naked
Yet unafraid of the dangers
That lurked in the unknown darkness
As the stars wept showers of their once glory
A Faded glow to highlight the evening sky
We ran rapid like a virus
Taking the high ground
Marveling over the land we have conquered
We came like a breeze unseen but felt
Unmatched in the beauty of life
We carried our heads high
Dancing with freedom as our slave
Tossing away the fears of yesterday
Breaking the false images of today’s beauty
As easily as a vase shattering on the floor
We cry out in night
No more
No more
Let the captive bird sing his song of freedom
Sing my friend
Sing your song
Let your notes of love
Penetrate our being with a new understanding
We ran into there was no where left to run
We did not care our backs against the world
The sea shore lined as an ally we danced
With the sound of the evening tide
In the night we lived
In the night shall we die
