Walking Away

I’m still mostly all of me
                                           Life still entices me
                                          Laughter given freely
                                      Most moments I’m happy
But thought of you randomly enters me
Tear at my heart and reminds me
                                 That you were an impossibility
My brain confirms my decision was sound
                                    My heart falters and burns

There was no relationship to break up
                               Just an unexpected soul connection
You touched me with words as beautiful as the sun
But in the end our prior commitments won
Our other loves took round one
I could not tarnish my vows
Or tore a heart I swore to protect
So instead my heart bears the burden
Cracked not shattered no longer in tack
                                    Just a little less beautiful

Dear Abigale, Is better to love and lose than not to love. The Spring when we plant flowers ,we know they won’t last But they beautify the moment! Each relationship, no matter How short or real, enriches us and brings love closer. Loved your Poem for it is so true and beautifully expressed! I am back. Thank You for your comment.

Looking deep within your soul, you discover that no matter what external forces that come into play, you are still you with the same morals and ideals! This is a truthful write about who we all are inside! Beautifully expressed, my dear Abigale! Hugs, Jack xox

Your poetry speaks to me. I understand them completely..though, being single and observant to others surrounding me is pulling me away from entering into another relationship. On the outside looking in, marriage seems to not be what it use to be (random thought). But, letting go of someone you love is a hard process. Love is powerful!!

Marriage is still a beautiful thing but I have learned somethings we can't explain in life. They are random. One day you could be walking around blissfully in love and the next moment a stranger could evoke feels in you that shouldn't be there. We just have to choose to do the right things. We cannot control our feelings we control what we do after we discover those feelings.

Also, when you've acclimated yourself with that certain individual for a period of time, it seems as if a part of you is missing when you let go. Its a crazy feeling I must say.
