Nightmare from the jungle Vampire Bats attack cattle and people Transmitting deadly rabies When they carry the deadly virus Some indigenous children have died ------------------------------------------------- Albtraum aus dem Dschungel Vampierfledermäuse im nächtlichen Angriff Überträger der Tollwut Wenn sie das tödliche Virus tragen Indiokinder mussten sterben ------------------------------------------------- Pesadilla de selva Vampiros atacan al ganado y gente Transmisión de rabia Cuando ellos llevan el virus mortal Algunos niños indígenas murieron Note: To follow the rules of a Takna the German and Spanish translations vary from the original English one. The Great Vampire Bat (Desmodus rotundus) attack mainly farm animals e.g. cattle, goats and sheep but also attack and suck blood during the night of people. If the carry the deadly rabies virus they can kill man. Just recently four indigenous tribe children in the border area of the Amazon jungle between Perú and Ecuador died from the deadly infection.

Oh my, I thought vampire bats were just legends. I didn't know they were real critters, especially ones that could do so much harm. Thanks for letting us know about this tragedy. I pray they take no more victims. Such a problem could really get out of control as rabies is spread. Nice to see you posting again, dear friend. Hope all is well in your area and that the floodwaters have subsided. Love, Carolyn

Glad that you wrote this one..Wonder where in the world are there vampire bats? Enjoyed the read .bad about the children..My mother's father died from being bitten from a rabid dog..This was in the early 19 hundreds probably about 1905..There was medicine and the dr sent for it and treated him but he did not follow drs orders to stay inside rest, stay cool felt he had to move a saw mill to make money for the family..Fatal mistake..Sara
