A Sunset
Along the shore a red feathered sunset
As the sun falls into amber silence
To leave the day's beautiful epithet
The eyes turn peaceful in compliance
Shall I stay until the coming of night
And know that time is the birthing of dawn
Holding close dying pictures of splayed light
On the weathered shore I now stand upon
To find beauty and see it quietly
To be part of the moment when it's shown
Allow a pause and enter silently
And stand with elegance in jeweled tone
To be cradled by awe under the sky
And feel its passing with a deeper sigh
