Trout Fishing Trip.
>>>>>>>>>>A weekend trip back in the woods,
Trout fishing in there was always good.
We would pack enough food to last a few days,
My two brothers and I would soon be on our way.
I would pick up worms, for two nights in a row,
So we would have enough bait, and not run low.
Check rods and reels to make sure that they worked,
Fishing poles were to long to use in the brook.
It was a long hike in to the cabin where we would stay,
You had to make sure you had everything, there was no other way.
Tobacco, papers, lighter, flash light, hat and a rain coat,
You had to walk around the pond, there was no boat.
We did some fishing on the way up the river,
Which seemed to go on for ever and ever.
We caught 6 big ones that we could have for later,
Heat up the frying pan, dip the trout in batter.
Put on salt and pepper on the first flip,
With a hot cup of tea and a few chips.
To me this was a meal fit for a king,
I would not hesitate to do it again.
