Trees in black Down under the sky Down under the tree Tree stands tall Tree ages old Old leaves shed Old thick trunk Trunk wrapped in bark Trunk tells the age Age in years Age it wears Wears ancient look Wears many nodes Nodes are thick Nodes deep brown Brown vivid hues Brown mixes green Green grass surrounds Green budding branches Branches bear hive Branches fast grow Grow the flowers Grow the fruits Fruits get ripe Fruits look fresh Fresh fragrant breeze Fresh cool mind Mind that ponders Mind sees beauty Beauty of nature Beauty of life Life that begins Life will end End of desires End of the day Day that we lived Day that descends Descends down hills Descends the sun Sun that sets Sun set twilight Twilight lends orange Twilight of dusk Dusk spreads dust Dusk progresses to dark Dark engulfs colours Dark means black Black rules sky Black of night Night Sky Written Sept 3rd, 2015 Contest- Down under Sponsor- Debbie Awarded 9th place win
