Train For Christmas - Contest
She has been writing a note for Father Christmas,
dreams of a train set for Christmas you see.
Though not a boy, would be the toy she’d enjoy
She’d imagine places to travel, be free.
Through the thick trees of a forest
along the side of a seashore.
Through the desert of the Sahara
blowing the whistle so all would know.
She could be the driver or the fireman
maybe the ticket collector what fun.
Tickets please she would shout in high tone
as the glass windows shone in the sun.
Please Father Christmas bring her a train
so she can imagine places she will never see.
Help her escape from her loneliness
Can’t walk and run like her friends, set her free.
