To My Fellow Poets, Know That You Are Thus Bound

To My Fellow Poets, Know That You Are Honor Bound Wanted to write a good poem, this day in the Sun before the dust falls away and I am forever undone Just a few kind words that may help and entertain pleasant painting that is scoring a very sweet refrain Flowers in the field, red, yellow and exquisitely blue colors splashed in life , the essence of all we do Trees that inspire us to sweetly rest in the shade colors they bring that wrapped nicely all God made Wanted to write a poem, one that sang this out to All gifting joy and appreciation before my last, final fall To my fellow poets, know that you are thus duty bound to gift to others this fine treasure you have found This urge we all feel to write our hopes and dreams Is truly God's desire, we send out love in word streams! Robert J. Lindley, 02-05-2015 note: Expression of my view of what is Poetry. Others will likely hold various other views and thats fine because as Individuals/Poets we all have our freedoms to be unique and hold our own values and judgments. I believe poetry is to inspire and to do no harm. In that , we are perhaps word doctors so to speak...

I don't know where our poetry comes from exactly, but as long as people enjoy the words we write, that is all that really matters... I enjoyed this beautiful poem of yours, my friend. A very emotive piece, Robert!

I agree with you that poetry is mainly meant to show beauty and to inspire, but I also find great poetry about war and other things not so inspiring. Have you ever read Dulce et decorum est? That is incredible imagery of the horror of war. Imagery is what I love most about poetry! But I hate vulgarity. VERY nicely done!

I like your views on poetry, Robert. Good thing cloning is not allowed, otherwise where would our diversity end! May our poetry serve to please and inspire! #7 All the best my friend. // paul

Wonderful tribute Robert. I second the comments you have made at the end of the poem - if we all wrote in the same way it would be bland and boring - if someone doesn't like the way I write - simple don't read my work. Hugs Jan xx
