To a Wasp

Oh dreaded parasitic predator, I yield to your flitting whim and unannounced intrusion. Innocently productive, you carry on your quest, unprovoked and unassuming. But for your merited renown, I take preemptive action testifying to my regard. The sport of a cautious hunt prompts instinct and evasion, no match for a well-aimed swat. And with your final writhing twitch I find a kind of sovereign triumph in my gleeful, gloating grin.

They are a plague here in my state. We have a battle each spring, summer and fall !! I am allergic to their sting, so if I find a big nest, I call in my sweet younger brother !! And yes, I grin when I swat one too !! lol Enjoyed !!

Should I call this a new form: dramatic satire. It is efficiently wrought with genius and humor, reflected from the self. Thvia, my friend, I enjoyed the time I spent reading more of your work today, may God bless you.

Poor wasp - but, he should have thought twice before messing with you. LOL Your poem put the same grin on my face as I imagine on yours having triumphed over this pest. I once had a severe allergic reaction to a wasp sting - so I applaud your "well-aimed swat". Death to the twat! Joe

Loved the last stanza there. I used to wait for the bumblebees to come to my little wading pool when I was a kid and then i"d drown them if they landed on the water. Payback for the times their family members had stung me. haha. LUv, Andrea
