Till last Magnolia blooms

Coffee bean scent still fills the air with each new sunrise in our log cabin My arms around me embrace the winds of Winter gone Every sky-night windowpanes glow in silent mist Lunar limbs stream through bedroom blinds reflecting shadows on empty sheets< Star clusters shine 'bove velvet shores sand-wish away from our bare toes Another year, another month, another thought I can't freeze time or make a clone First magnolia blooms on a bare branch Buzzing bees extract nectar from moist corolla Coloured wings flutter on melting icicles Sunbirds return with a sweet song But what is a song without a symphony What is music with no slow dance His hand-pressed petal still mark the chapter between stained pages The dusty shelves recall my mind recall my heart, recall my soul For the last time these eyes would linger before leaves curl, before buds wither before moons move on,and I let go.

Back on the comments band wagon, God help us all. I really enjoyed the pictures you painted with your words. Making this free verse gave you a larger scope to paint your vision for the reader to see. The emotions come out and touch the heart, what more can any reader ask for. All in all it was a beautiful piece with a gentle flow. As I say, "What more can a reader wish for." Catch you later. Your Friend, MIKE.

Charma, this is wonderful, the arms around me not only embrace the past--hold memories--but also warm you. I feel, when I read this, like I did back when to one of my favorite old songs written by Buffy Sainte Marie called "Until it's Time for You to Go". I'll go listen now while still holding your words here.

p.s. your unusual word combinations make me think you are a born poet, a natural; you have that special something that can't be taught :)

Very mysterious verse! It feels either like more than one poem OR that it's unfinished. Perhaps look at it starting with lines 5 & 6 that would give the reader the topic right off, then add lines 1-4 which is exquisite with imagery and sensation! The next verse starts with him too which is GREAT [what is sandwish?]

Hi Deborah..tnks for your input..I took your advice and swapped verses..Re sand -wish...For me its a wish made on the sand..but wishes on the sand are ephimeral wishes indeed .Re contest..Nah this isnt good enough sweety but tnks .hugs

YES just moving though 2 lines up gives the verse cohesion! Excellent contest entry for either Leaving on a Jet Plane or I would do anything for love. [Use your periods, only use double space between verse] Light & Love
