The Waiting Room- a Duo Rhyme

Sit waiting in this house of pain Against the window beats the rain Afraid to stay, afraid to go The minutes passing oh so slow I hear them rushing to and fro A seed of hope begins to grow I cannot stand another blow Unwise to let emotion show At last they tell me what they know And then the tears begin to flow No longer hope we entertain For death has sung his last refrain

Dear Barbara - The rhyme is perfect, but the subject and how you address it, is too too real. "Afraid to stay, afraid to go" I am touched beyond words by your portrayal of that agony. love, Kathy

wow. this is beautifully written! the flow is perfect and I love the sad, pensive mood you evoke in this, as well as your personification of death in the last line :) I bet this will place high! best wishes in andrea's contest :)
