The One We Proclaim Through the Ages. ( Sung To What Child Is This?)

She hugs Him tight on this frigid night, Vedi Dolorosa Mater.( Latin meaning: I saw the most sorrowful mother.) Some shepherds shout as the sky about becomes angels to honor His Father. CHORUS: Sweet, sweet are his cheeks so meek in whom rags enfold and soon kings bring gold. Sweet bliss reigns as His Father deigns for the One we proclaim through the ages. The oxen snort as the world cavorts they ignore all the hope He is bringing. Yet even now, as the mule and cow raise their eyes to the angels still singing. CHORUS: Kneel, kneel to this King and sing of His precious love sent from God above. The world will know in the swirling snow of the One we proclaim through the ages.

A great exercise it is to do different words to songs, Gerard. I enjoyed this and am glad you liked the last line message of my little poem. Andrea

I do believe this poem rivals the original one, Gerard, and that's hard to do with classic Christmas carols. Truly an outstanding entry for Deborah's contest! Love, Carolyn
