The Book of Luke 7: 36-50

One of the Pharisees ask Jesus to come to his home for lunch and Jesus accepted the invitation. As they sat down to eat, a woman of the streets--a prostitute--heard He was there and brought an exquisite flask filled with expensive perfume. Going in, she knelt behind Him at His feet, weeping, with her tears falling down upon His feet; and she wiped them off with her hair and kissed them and poured the perfume on them. When Jesus' host, a Pharisee, saw what was happening and who the woman was, he said to himself, "This proves that Jesus is no prophet, for if God had really sent Him, He would know what kind of woman this is!" Then Jesus spoke up and answered his thoughts. "Simon," He said to the Pharisee, "I have something to say to you."--"All right, Teacher," Simon replied, "go ahead." Then Jesus told him this story: "A man loaned money to two people--$5,000 to one and $500 to the other. But neither of them could pay him back, so he kindly forgave them both, letting them keep the money! Which do you suppose loved him most after that?"--"I suppose the one who had owed him the most,"Simon answered."Correct," Jesus agreed. Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon,"Look! See this woman kneeling here! When I entered your home, you did not bother to offer Me water to wash the dust from My feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You refused Me the customary kiss of greeting, but she has kissed My feet again and again from the time I first came in. You neglected the usual courtesy of olive oil to annoint My head, but she has covered My feet with rare perfume. Therefore her sins--and they are many--are forgiven, for she loved Me much; but one who is forgiven little, shows little love." And He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."Then the men at the table said to themselves, "Who does this man think that He is, going around forgiving sins?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And Jesus said to the woman, " 'Your Faith' has saved you; go in peace!"....

Dear John, Thank you for your kind words. I am honored that you will post my passage. I just read this. It is a beautiful reminder about forgiveness. If we truly believe in him we can be forgiven for our sins no matter what our station in life or what we look like. What is in our heart matters most and He knows. This lead me to this passage I want to share: Matt:18:1-4. You are the beautiful one, dear John, because the Light of Christ shines thru your words. God bless you always. Love Robin

so in essence Jesus wanted his apostles to see the meaning by always giving them an illustration, Jesus definitley knew that the woman was a prostitute, but because of her faith and the fact that she was humble and meek enough to wash his feet, she was worthy to be forgiven, never be to haughty and too proud to do the Lord's work even though it may seem lowly to some, to these the kingdom will be given, awesome write, take care D-nyce

cont: much he loves me regardless eventhough it hard to comprehend sometimes. I am truly grateful that you shared this piece and how it allowed me to think of where I came from. These are the best words written, more inspiring than any words that we collectively can pen. Thank you. Much love, Chris.

I must tell you John that I often read the words of the bible up until three or so years ago. Due to some craziness I have halted reading the word and seeing it here really took me back to those many years when the scriptures was often a major part of my life. I often wonder what the great Lord is thinking about me and how far I have fallen over the years. I often wonder if there is any more room in his great arms for a sinner like me. I read this and I blown away because it reminds me of how
